Headcanon until proven otherwise: Apple is actually the audience, appearing randomly (to the pirates) so that the albatrio can recount their adventures at the start of each episode. that’s why Apple always manages to stay with the albatrio and follow them into battle, but never gets hurt or affected by anything (cough, pretzel, cough)
