Beyoncé “Renaissance” Review
My top favorites have a 🌟 (star) next to them.
1) I’m That Girl
This song would be absolutely perfect to me if it wasn’t for the “these mfs ain’t stopping me” constant chant in the background. I wish she did a version without that in the background and it would be a top contender as my favorite song on the album. Other than the chant, I love the buildup from her lower register to her upper register, the vibes, and most of all the classic wall of harmonies that she’s known for.
2) Cozy 🌟
This is my absolute favorite song on the album. The music, the lyrics, the melody. One of her best songs in general to me.
3) Alien Superstar 🌟
By the title alone, I had high expectations for this song and didn’t disappoint at all. I love the transition into the chorus “I’m too classy for this world forever I’m that girl” my favorite line on the whole album. The outro is the perfect touch of intergalactic needed to solidify the whole theme. I love this one, my second fave on the album. I imagine her strutting like this in the video.
4) Cuff It
This one is a nice groove a pleasant switch up on the album. It has that late 70s funk sound which is what makes me appreciate it as part of the cohesion of this project.
5) Energy
Honest I love when transitions the most, that’s my favorite part of the song.
6) Break My Soul 🌟
The message hits so hard. It’s gotten better with each listen and has become one of my favorites of Beyoncé ever. The fusion of house and bounce music was a genius musical move.
7) Church Girl
As someone who grew up in church, I was hoping for an introspective gospel flavored bop. That’s not exactly what I got. There were elements of it being what I wanted. I like the opening lyrics. I do like the gospel flavored bounce element a lot actually, but I’m still struggling with the mixture of church and twerking (dropping it like a thottie) 😬. It’s just kind of teetering that line for me dawg. 🤷🏽♂️ I’m conflicted that’s all I’m saying. I feel a lil guilty listening to it because I’m trying to decide whether it crosses it or not. 😭
8) Plastic Off The Sofa 🌟
I love this moment on the album. A very mellow groove that you just let play as you’re driving or doing something that doesn’t require much concentration. The album needed this moment to cool things down and serves as a nice moment of sentimental balance.
9) Virgo’s Groove
This song reminds me of Cuff It vibe wise. It has that groovy funky disco esque vibe. The more you play it the more you want to hear it again. It’s one of those that you just let play in the background and groove to at random moments.
10) Move
I’m not mad at this one. It’s fun, it’s a bit aggressive and abstract, but once the transition happens it’s a moment/ vibe. “This is how we move, this is how we moooovvveee” 🕺🏾 is my favorite part.
11) Heated 🌟
This song is cool, I find what she did towards the end to be the most entertaining element. RIP Uncle Johnny
12) Thique
This is probably the most fiercely Beyoncé song on the album. It seems just like where she’d be musically today in my opinion. It’s like an upgrade 2022 version of a Sasha Fierce track. 🤔 That’s what it is….this is what Sasha Fierce sounds like on 2022. 💡
13) All Up In Your Mind
I really like this song now…it took a couple listens to get into the vibe, but the very stylized cadence is really catchy and wavy. One I’d revisit or go straight to for sometime.
14) American Has A Problem 🌟
This is in my top two thus far. As soon as I heard the sample as a reference track. I knew she would eat this up and it superseded my expectations.
15) Pure/ Honey
This one is the most fun on the album. There’s three transitions and the last one is gold when it goes into the Prince and the Revolution sound. I picture her doing a whole homage to Prince and his era with all his girls Shelia E, Vanity 6, and even the women guitarist and backup singers he often featured. Honey 🌟 is my favorite album moment. “Ms hunnnnaayyeee.” 😭
16) Renaissance Summer 🌟
The perfect closing track. Extremely feel good. A delightful interpolation of Donna Summers “I Feel Love” her vocals towards the end are top tier ear Candy “I need ittttttttttt” 👌🏾👏🏾 This song fits exactly what I’d expect just from hearing that Beyoncé is doing a house album. Very satisfying and living up to every ounce of expectation and beyond on this track.
Over all I appreciate and thoroughly enjoyed the creativity and production on this album; in that sense it’s a great project that much effort was put into. If there was one thing I found disappointing or a bit unsettling about this project, it would be some of the lyric content and choice words used. Beyoncé in my opinion is a southern church girl at heart, so to hear her take it there with some of the crass language, subject matter, or profusely using profanity will always seem ill fitting for her. I enjoy that fine line of edgy yet classy that she exemplified in her earlier career. There’s a sense that she has let go of all of her judgements and convictions to stay on top; which I don’t want to overly harp on. I personally would love to see the Beyoncé I recognize and initially connected with, in the sense of both being from the south and growing up with a church/ spiritual foundation, re-emerge. I need the true gospel medley Beyoncé to show up again and kind of leave the rest behind for just one album atleast. Here’s to one of the acts being Beyoncé at her most polished classy former church going self, with zero profanity, bragging, or crass sex talk.

TheAwkwardAnglophile's Top 25 Favorite '80s Songs
I've been wanting to do this for a while, ranking my fave songs from the '80s, which is also my fave decade. I am a child of the '80s, so I did take nostalgia into account when deciding. It took forever to narrow everything down, and quite honestly, there are a ton of songs that could easily have made this list, but this is where it stands for now, and I'm posting it before I change my mind again. Enjoy!
25. All I Need- Jack Wagner: Just a perfect '80s pop song, really.
24. The Way You Make Me Feel- Michael Jackson: The way this song makes me feel is completely happy, plus it reminds me of Center Stage.
23. Get On Your Feet- Gloria Estefan: It's such a cheery bop and a true fave from childhood. Plus it reminds me of Parks and Rec (IYKYK).
22. Take On Me- A-ha: This one probably should be higher, but it doesn't have the childhood nostalgia attached to it. Still a great song!
21. Girl Can't Help It- Journey: I didn't discover this one until I was much older, but my love for it grows and grows, mainly because the last minute or so of it is LIIIIFE.
20. Can't Fight This Feeling- REO Speedwagon: GEEZ, this song is so good. I've applied it to many of my ships before because the feels are so strong.
19. Kyrie- Mr. Mister: I mean, how can you not love this one?
18. Magic- Olivia Newton-John: Is it cheesy? Sure. But I don't care. It is pure gold. It feels like childhood, and I never skip it when it comes up on a playlist.
17. Cool Night- Paul Davis: Another one deeply entrenched in childhood. When I hear this, I feel like I'm in the town I lived in until I was 5.
16. Shattered Dreams- Johnny Hates Jazz: Another perfectly crafted pop song.
15. Human Nature- Michael Jackson: Look, I love Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It, etc. But I've heard them SO MUCH. This one never gets old for me. It's so smooth.
14. Walk Like an Egyptian- The Bangles: Just ridiculously fun.
13. Careless Whisper- Wham!/George Michael: What an epic '80s ballad. It's incredible.
12. True- Spandau Ballet: I feel if you asked a group of people to quickly name an '80s song, this would be one of the first ones to pop up. It's so classic.
11. Kokomo- The Beach Boys: Ok, this one is really special to me. It's super nostalgic. When this came out, my brother and I instantly gravitated to it, and not long after, we stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World, and made up our own chorus to this song using the different places represented at the resort. We were dorks.
10. Cruising For Bruising- Basia: We made it to the top 10! Basia is highly underrated. I fell in love with this song when it first came out, and it's still wonderful to listen to.
9. Time After Time- Cyndi Lauper: Confession time. I'm actually not a huge Cyndi Lauper fan in general, but THIS song is just amazing. It's unique and insanely memorable.
8. (I've Had) The Time of My Life- Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes: I mean, yeah, it makes me think of Dirty Dancing, sure. But it ALSO makes me think of New Girl, which is more important to me. But before all of that, it was a childhood staple, and I still love it, maybe even more.
7. Never Gonna Give You Up- Rick Astley: Not going to rick-roll you here. I have truly loved this song ever since it came out. All of his stuff is great. Rick Astley is a gem.
6. Heart and Soul- T'Pau: I cannot get enough of this song. I crank it up so high. It's fabulous. And the band named themselves after a Vulcan on Star Trek? Yes, please.
5. Something About You- Level 42: This one just grabs me. I love its sound.
4. Everybody Wants To Rule the World- Tears For Fears: What an absolute gem of a song. Seriously. It's so good. Quintessential '80s.
3. Don't You (Forget About Me)- Simple Minds: This song is ICONIC. It's not one I heard as much when I was a kid, but I love it so much now. It's so big and sweeping and just DEFINES the '80s.
2. Africa- Toto: Is there anyone that hates this song? It's ok if you do. It just feels beloved by all. It never gets old to me, and just has a perfect '80s sound to it.
1. The Power of Love- Huey Lewis & the News: This will forever be my fave '80s song. It's perfect. I've always loved it, and when I'd hear it as a kid, it hit differently than any other song, like it had this larger-than-life quality to it. And it's also connected to my favorite '80s movie, Back To the Future.

The Post-Eurovision ranking and comments from an American that nobody asked for:
1. Switzerland 🇨🇭 Gjon’s Tears - Tout l’univers: I absolutely was enamored by this song, its artistry, and the artist. He can really sing and one of my early favorites from this year. So happy for him to get in the top 3 bc it was well deserved. 100/10
2. Italy 🇮🇹 Måneskin - Zitti e Buoni: Deserved winners. As queer as you can get and I am here for it. Another early favorite of mine constantly fighting with Switzerland for the top spot. 100/10
3. Iceland 🇮🇸 Dadi og Gagnamagnid - 10 Years: A beautiful song dedicated to his wife and deserved Top 5 for sure. Last year’s song would have won hands down so I’m bummed he couldn’t win the first one for Iceland but brilliant song and I hope the group stays together to produce more music. 99/10
4. Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Victoria - Growing Up Is Getting Old: Eurovision fandom will forever say Imaginary Friend or Ugly Cry was the better song to send, but I don’t think they would have won the contest either. This year was strong, and I personally think Growing Up was a perfect choice from Victoria. It deserved top 10 so I was pissed that it came 11th on the night and received so few televotes. 97/10
5. Ukraine 🇺🇦 Go_A - SHUM: To all y’all who said this wouldn’t qualify when the new version came out, eat those words hun. This was a masterpiece, and the live performances just elevated it further. Honestly, Kateryna could step on me, and I would let her. Who doesn’t love an ethnic modern fusion rave? 95/10
6. Serbia 🇷🇸 Hurricane - Loco Loco: I honestly have to say when it came out, it was never breaking my top 20, but here we are. This group of gals is amazing. The choreo, hairography, and the still great vocals won my gay ass over. They served and deserved top 10 in my eye. 90/10
7. Greece 🇬🇷 Stefania - Last Dance: Much like Serbia, I kinda dismissed this as a top 10 song at first, but after many listens and then the live shows, it was one of the best songs this year. Last year’s song was nowhere near a qualifier for me, and then I thought they had a good chance of being top 5 this year. Amazing improvement and can’t wait to see what comes next from Stefania. 80/10
8. Malta 🇲🇹 Destiny - Je me casse: Not going to lie, the studio definitely did more for me. It was up with Italy and Switzerland for winner contention until the live shows. Don’t get me wrong, Destiny is still amazing live, and the song is a deserved top 5 song. However, the costume and staging just really didn’t add to the song and I think detracted a bit. Her song last year was also much better in my opinion. 75/10
9. San Marino 🇸🇲 Senhit ft Flo Rida - Adrenalina: Oh boy this was a party, and the fact Flo Rida actually was there made it even better. The staging and costuming was absolutely camp, and I was here for it. This was definitely not underrated by fans beforehand, but the jury and televote were beyond robberies in my opinion. Granted I know the backing vocals were carrying the chorus a lot so in terms of vocals, I can see where this song got dinged, but this should have been San Marino’s best ever result at Eurovision, and it wasn’t so I’m mad. 60/10
10. France 🇫🇷 Barbara Pravi - Voila: The new Edith Piaf and probably one of the most representative of the country’s culture for a song. A definite deserved runner up on the night but for me 10th place. I loved the staging, the costume, the emotions. It was all right for Eurovision and me. 50/10
11. Cyprus 🇨🇾 Elena Tsingarou - El Diablo: Come through Cyprus with another female pop banger. I’d say if the formula ain’t broke don’t fix it, but wasn’t really enough to crack top 10 this year. Another early favorite of mine this year but soon got eclipsed. Still going to be listening to El Diablo for a while. 49/10
12. Russia 🇷🇺 Manizha - Russian Woman: I can’t lie that at first, this song was absolutely trash to me but quickly rose the ranks and became one of my faves. Same thing happened last year with Uno. We also always love a good female empowerment moment with the native language thrown in. Manizha is a girlboss without the gaslighting and a true queen. Deserved top 10 the night of. 40/10
13. Lithuania 🇱🇹 The Roop - Discoteque: An earworm for first listen and was top 10 for a while for me but like Cyprus, lost out to some others. No doubt this is a deserved top 10 the night of. 35/10
14. Croatia 🇭🇷 Albina - Tick Tock: The first song to get me pressed on it’s placement. Deserved to be in the final over both Israel and Norway (please come for me I don’t care). They freakin rocked that stage during the semis and the song is absolutely a bop. Albina deserved better. 30/10
15. Sweden 🇸🇪 Tusse - Voices: A beautiful song by an amazing artist. Sure the lyrics were a bit cliche Eurovision but guess what...it’s Eurovision. I can hear the voices. Keep carrying on Tusse. 25/10
16. Albania 🇦🇱 Anxehla Peristeri - Karma: This song grew on me a lot. I liked it but wasn’t a don’t skip for a while on my playlist. The live performance changed it for me. She slayed and the staging was everything for Miss Thing. Also native language brownie points. 24/10
17. Finland 🇫🇮 Blind Channel - Darkside: Before you come for me for having this at 17th, keep reading. I’m not a big fan of the lyrics but the song is absolutely fantastic. This style of music isn’t something I pull out on a playlist often, but I had my middle fingers up for this one (and pointed at Germany but we’ll discuss later). Deserved top 10 as they rocked it on stage. 20/10
18. The Netherlands 🇳🇱 Jeangu Macrooy - Birth of a New Age: I absolutely do not understand the hate for this song. I was also a huge fan of Grow last year so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised for being generally alone again. The fact it got 0 points in the televote and only 11 in the jury is not surprising but extremely disappointing to me. This song is a masterpiece much like the ones ranked above it. Jeangu, you are amazing and deserved so much better than this. 20/10
19. Belgium 🇧🇪 Hooverphonic - The Wrong Place: Fantastic song but fantastic artists. Always here for a dark pop moment. Gonna go get my own Johnny Cash T-shirt. 15/10
20. Spain 🇪🇸 Blas Cantó - Voy a Quedarme: Such a heartfelt ballad. I enjoyed it quite a bit and don’t understand the hate it has. Didn’t deserve 0 points in the televote. 14/10
21. Denmark 🇩🇰 Fyr og Flamme - Øve Os På Hinanden: Look we all know this song is cheesy but it’s the cheesiest Velveeta queso loco so it’s ranked so high in my opinion. This is a nod to the whacky and weird Eurovision I love. It’s always in my head and I always find myself dancing along. Deserved to be in the final over two of the songs in Semi 2. 13/10
22. Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 Efendi - Mata Hari: As far as the song goes, it’s enjoyable, but the stage show was a hot mess in my opinion. The choreo looked a mess and the different sheer legging configurations on the backup dancers was not the correct fashion choice in my opinion as I was distracted by the thought of why are they all different. Did deserve their spot in the final though. 12/10
23. Moldova 🇲🇩 Natalia Gordienko - Sugar: The studio version of this song is a heavily replayed one on my playlist bc of the drop and dance-ability of the song. However the downfall of the song was it’s live performance. The staging was fine and the choreo was great but those attempted sexy whisper vocals were not the choice to go with. I don’t want to sugar-coat this 😝 so they were terrible. Glad she made it but I felt her position in the final was one of just pure luck. 11/10
24. UK 🇬🇧 James Newman - Embers: The nul points was a huge ass oof. This song isn’t bad but I can see where people didn’t vote for it bc it’s not super memorable in terms of who all was participating this year. I like the song and always sing and dance along. 10/10
25. Israel 🇮🇱 Eden Alene - Set Me Free: This is how to do a revamp and be successful. Eden is a fantastic artist who can clearly sing, but the live performance was not all that sans the whistle tones. Yet the whistle tones aside, the song is lacking a lot. When looking back at the songs available, this one should not have been the selected one. I was always on the fence with this one and still am. 9.5/10
26. Czechia 🇨🇿 Benny Cristo - Omaga: The live definitely hurt this song in the first minute and a half. The second half was absolutely what should have happened in terms of vocals. Still like the song and listen to it often. 9.25/10
27. Ireland 🇮🇪 Leslie Roy - Maps: This song was a victim of a super strong bloodbath and shoddy staging ideas. The song is arresting and a bop. Leslie’s gruff voice mixed with the modernized Irish sounds is a match made. The staging of this song that required Leslie to run along with the beat and the distracting and constantly changing bits of the performance we’re definitely it’s downfall. It didn’t deserve last place in Semi 1 though. 9.25/10
28. Portugal 🇵🇹 The Black Mamba - Love Is On My Side: I am the first to admit that while I don’t like the song, it deserved the final. The staging and atmosphere elevated the song. 9/10
29. Austria 🇦🇹 Vincent Bueno - Amen: In the battle of the Amens, this one wins solely based on the classy and amazing staging. Don’t get me wrong, Slovenia’s was also elevating but this one did it better. 8.5/10
30. Australia 🇦🇺 Montaigne - Technicolor: This song is a fantastic one for studio. The live since the Sydney Mardi Gras performance has been rough and didn’t necessarily improve. I feel bad bc I do really love this song but it definitely didn’t deserve to qualify. This being said, I love Montaigne, and Don’t Break Me was my runner up last year, and I still listen to it as my anthem when I’m feeling down. I wish I could rank this higher but I can’t. 8.5/10
31. Romania 🇷🇴 Roxen - Amnesia: This song is great in the studio but it got old real fast for me and I don’t know why. This mixed with the poor vocals and the bizarre costume:stage combo was really what did this in and got this low in my ranking. 8.25/10
32. Slovenia 🇸🇮 Ana Soklic - Amen: The loser of the Amen battle, but just barely. The song and vocals are better in my opinion but the whole package was just barely edged out in the end. 8/10
33. Latvia 🇱🇻 Samanta Tīna - Moon Is Rising: Look, this song is nowhere near as good as last years. The queeeeeen sashayed away with that annoying trap beat. 8/10
34. North Macedonia 🇲🇰 Vasil - Here I Stand: Leave it to the gays for bringing musical theatre to Eurovision. The song honestly isn’t that special or memorable but he’s higher up bc his stage and voice are amazing. 7/10
35. Norway 🇳🇴 Tix - Fallen Angel: A great message on mental health outside of the song and Tix seems like a quality fella but I do not like the song. I preferred it in Norwegian. And this low ranking is not at all influenced over him beating out Keiino (but maybe a slight bit tho). 5/10
36. Estonia 🇪🇪 Uku Suviste - The Lucky One: While this was 1000% better than last years entry, it still was relatively boring. The stage was equally as boring so sorry Estonia, but you didn’t make the mark. 4.5/10
37. Poland 🇵🇱 Rafael - The Ride: This throwback to the 80s was a bad one. The attempt at a one hit wonder vibe really hurt it along with the artist’s terrible vocals. Also half the time, he was behind the pyro and relying on backup vocals. 4/10
38. Georgia 🇬🇪 Tornike Kipiani - You: You really should not have to wait so long for the more upbeat rock ending of this. If it was that last 30 seconds for 3 minutes, it would be much better. A definite step back from last year. 1/10
39. Germany 🇩🇪 Jendrick - I Don’t Feel Hate: Jendrick might not feel hate but I do bc that is all I feel when this song comes on. 0.5/10

oh my goodness! this changes all the time. anything where i finally feel settled. where i'm making money being creative and i have my family and friends close by. (also, like maybe the closet of carrie bradshaw and maybe i have an oscar for screenwriting and maybe i'm married to a peter dinklage clone but that's all details).
jeans - what kind of music do you listen to?
to be clear, i have no Taste, only vibes lol. my faves probably are: wild child, hozier, the oh hellos, the ghost of paul revere, parsonfield (rip), james taylor, loreena mckennit, taylor swift, billie eilish, johnny flynn, leonard cohen, black pumas and more recently olivia dean and brooke fraser. i also love the jonas brothers, halsey and dua lipa. i adore traditional folk music, irish & welsh music, hymns. i really, really love classical music as well--aaron copland, tchaikovsky's ballets, the score of 'rigoletto.' one of my favorite albums is handel's messiah reinterpreted to reflect the evolution of Black music in the U.S.
My forever autumn soundtrack is Elisabeth von Trapp's (of THOSE von trapps) album Poetic License. this has been one of my faves since i was like 13. This album is just my home state in autumn to me.
pinecones - where is your favourite place in the current city you live?
there's a wooded path that goes by a lake about 15 minutes outside the city limits that has misty mountain views and is just really pretty and isolated. and my saturday morning ritual is to just go and walk or run it. it's replaced the ocean for me as a calm place. you genuinely have no idea about the pretty busy urban center 20 mins away. it's so peaceful.

Meryl Silverburgh Appreciation Post

So, I have a lot of faves in this series, but Meryl is one I don’t often see a lot of elaboration on. She only appears in MGS1 and MGS4, but that doesn’t make her less valuable as a character.
First, I want to describe her value as a side character in MGS1.
Meryl, to me, represents a young Snake. New to Foxhound, doe-eyed, and excited to see what this prestigious group has to offer. She’s over-confident because she wants to prove something to her hero. She’s getting to participate in an operation not initially meant for her (like Op. Intrude N312/13), and it ends up being a massive part of her development as a character.
Also, as she admires Snake, she represents a part of him he’d rather forget. In their meeting cutscene, Snake doesn’t seem too fond of his past, which makes sense when you understand his PTSD. However, Meryl admires him and Campbell for it, resurfacing his past and what it meant to others. Snake didn’t see himself as a hero, but she did.
They also both have daddy issues of varying degrees, and I think it kind of solidifies their relationship in a sort of way.
It’s pretty apparent that her and Snake’s relationship was supposed to be like an action movie trope, and it mostly was. But when you think about Meryl’s sort of infatuation with Snake, it makes their breakup a lot more interesting. It’s character development for both of them in that they realize that Shadow Moses changed their lives and that they couldn’t just settle down and be happy. Now I’ll talk about MGS4.
I ignore the whole marrying Johnny thing bc it’s absolute BS, sorry. She states in MGS1 she dreamed of the military, not getting married. And also she is my girlfriend, not Johnny’s.
It’s such an interesting dynamic- Meryl thriving while Snake is old and past his prime. We get to see Meryl living the simple yet fulfilling life she always wanted. It adds a bit of sorrow to Snake’s story but gives us closure on Meryl. And I needed that closure lol.
Snake and her retaining a friendship is interesting to me since we don’t get an elaboration on how their relationship falls out. To think she’s grown enough as an adult to put aside their past and help Snake shows a lot of maturity to me.
Meryl represents to me the ramifications of the main plot. She was caught in the crosshairs, in between the man and his mission. Because of her involvement with Snake, her life is put in danger and forever changed. She can’t deny that her character today is affected by what happened with Snake.
But after a while, she’s no longer relevant to that main plot. She gets to live her own life, outside it. That’s where Meryl’s character shines to me. She was able to uninvolve herself with Snake’s conflicts but somehow found herself back in them. However, Meryl doesn’t need to depend on Snake anymore to get her mission done. That growth attracts me to her; it adds a lot of value to the whole “Snake is old and useless now” sort of message they’re getting through in MGS4.
Overall, I am super duper gay for Meryl Silverburgh. I hope you are too.

So once again you see yourself caught up in some 'scandal' with Doyoung. Why does this happen just now? You're not even dating him anymore. You take a deep breath and leave your phone to go take a shower. Apparently there's another party at Lucas's. When are they getting bored of those parties? Why nobody has brought a karaoke machine yet? Is not like you have a great voice but that doesn't mean you don't wanna use it? Anyway, is getting late, you better hurry up or everyone is gonna be already drunk when you get there and that's not as funny as sober people pretend it is.
This is the third day in a row that there's a party and most of the people couldn't handle it. There are just a few model girls from your assessment group and Lucas, Doyoung, Johnny, Taeyong. Then there's Blair, Chloe etc, and lastly Mark, Renjun, Jisung. You go say hi to them first and then to the girls.
-How's your lizard? -Chloe asks.
-Very well, thank you. She cute.
-Skyler, you know how much I love Drarry, tell me SkyJun is sailing. -Blair says.

-Skyler! -Lucas approaches you with a drink. -You came, great. Here. -He hands you the cup. -We're about to start a drinking game. You HAVE to play. You too girls. -He looks at your friends.- I'm kinda tired of kissing guys all the time.
-I'll stay here with Wonho for tonight. But Blair will go. -Chloe says pushing her.
-Well yeah, I'll go. I'm bored anyway. -She says, following Lucas.
Blair grabs your hand and takes you to the circle too. You can see Mark doing the same to Renjun. You haven't drink enough for this. You haven't drink at all actually. So you just gulp down that cup Lucas gave you. It's terribly sweet. Must be rum or something like that. Doyoung sits by your side.
-Hey. -He says, softly.
-Hey, you.
-How are you doing?
-I'm fine. Seriously, I'll be fine as long as your fans don't know who I really am.
-Well I'm sure they'll find out so...
-Yeah... I kinda know that but I want to be happy meanwhile. -You laugh.
-Everyone! -Lucas is placing the bottle already. -Let's start this. We'll play kiss or dare. -He says spinning the bottle. It stops pointing at Mark. -Mark. Kiss or dare.

-Okay, kiss Jisung.
-Seriously?? -He ask, while reluctantly moving towards Jisung. -What kind of kiss?
-I guess if someone choose 'kiss' just a normal kiss, not a peck but not french you know?
He sighs and proceed to kiss the maknae.
Next time bottle points to Doyoung.
-Kiss or dare? -Asks Lucas.

He chuckles. -Ok, so apparently ‘dare’ means kissing too. -Doyoung says. He just kisses you anyways. It's just a peck on the cheek tho.
-Aww c'mon! -Lucas complains. -Don't do this to me everyone please. This is a party I want action. -People laugh and he spins the bottle again. It points to one of the girls from your assessment group. The one who was fixing Renjun's clothes that time at the photoshoot. -Kiss or dare?
-Kiss!
-Okay, kiss the person you like the most from this circle. You can kiss me by the way.
She giggles and looks around, then goes to Renjun and kiss him. HOW DARES SHE. Ahem... Anyways. Lucas is dissapointed cause she didn't choose him. And the cup that was in your hand is no longer a cup, now is just a crushed plastic ball.
-Here. -You look up and it's Wonho offering you another drink. -Chloe sends me. -You look behind him and she's waving at you. Then makes a sign for you to breathe and just drink the cup.
You gulp that one in too. -Finally, vodka. -You say. You're so glad all your friends actually know what drinks you like.
The bottle spins again and finally it points to you. -Kiss or dare? -Lucas asks.
-Dare. -You choose.
-Okay. I noticed you gave up half of your clothes trying not to make out with Renjun the other night so...
-I gave my other half trying not to kiss Mark. -You add.
-Well yeah but you ended up having to kiss him and you made him moan so I can't think how you could top that tonight.
You sigh kinda frustrated. Renjun kissed that other girl. You don't wanna kiss him right now. -Whatever. -You say.
-Anyway, as I was saying. Your dare is to turn Renjun on.

You sigh again and crawl to Renjun. He's visibly worried right now. You're frowning cause you're still mad. But you sit astride him and look at him in the eyes. He gulps and you kiss him briefly before going down his neck. He has closed his eyes as you bite him softly. You almost can hear his heart beat. His fingers buried in your skin as you bite his neck a little harder. You kiss your way to his ear and whisper some nasty thingys to him till he pushes you away.
-Ok, enough. -He says, blushing to another level.
You get back to your seat giggling. -So mean. -Doyoung whispers to you.
-That's nothing. -You say, laughing.
-Yeah, I know. But still... Look at him. Never seen anyone that red.
-Shut up. -You say, laughing. -Is not that bad.
It's 5am and half of the people there is falling asleep. So you and the girls decide it's time to go. Jisung has fallen asleep in Lucas's bed and Mark is about to do the same. Renjun is just there laughing at both of them.
-You go ahead. -You say to Blair. -I'm gonna say goodbye to the guys. -She nods and goes away. You hug Doyoung and tell him to go to bed too. Lastly you go to Renjun and talk to him. -Hey.
-Hey. -You're going too?
-Yeah. I'm gonna pass out for sure when I get to my bed.
He chuckles. -Yeah, me too...
-Well, you already have bed hair.
-Ah, really?
-Yeah, you look terrible. -You laugh.
-Is that so? -He asks, raising an eyebrow. -Well, thank you.
-You're welcome. That's what enemies are for, ya know. -You say, smiling. -What did you do to get that hair tho? Did you kiss that model girl again?
-She was kinda clumsy yeah. Why would I kiss her again tho?
-I don't know... -You try and fix his hair while talking. -She's pretty.
He chuckles. -Are you drunk?
-Not really, no...
-I see. Sleepy drunk then. -His voice so soft.
-Maybe? -You laugh.
Suddenly you see Jisung's sleepy eyes creeping out behind Renjun. -Hyung, let's go please. I'll take Mark.
He laughs and looks at you. -I guess it's time to go.
-Ah, yeah. Good night then. -You watch Renjun and Jisung carrying Mark out of the room, then you stand there like an idiot for a few more seconds till you decide to move and go to your room too. You crush into Renjun on your way out. -Sorry. -You apologize and then laugh a little.
-Ah, sorry I forgot something. -He says, grabbing your hand.
-What?
He starts walking then, just turning his head to answer your question and then keep going. -'You'.
You feel your face burn after that. How he dares making you blush like that. -Omg Renjun.
-What? -He chuckles.

You take your shoes off as soon as you enter the room. Then throw yourself in bed. You feel your eyes closing and not wanting to open again. Then you suddenly remember Renjun is right there and get up. -What are you doing? -He's standing close to the door.

-Come here, you idiot. -He walks to the bed and stand there. You pull him from his shirt to make him fall into the bed with you. -Why are you just standing? -You laugh.
-Sorry, you seem exhausted just now.
-Well yeah, I am. -You say, kissing him after. -But... -You blush hard.

-I don't want you to go just yet... -You say, pouting. Avoiding eye contact with him.
He chuckles. Making you look at him again. -I don't wanna go either. I came back for you, remember?

uh, i don’t have one? i mean yeah, i’d love to be a writer, or game dev, or a narrative director on a game, or direct, write, or act in movies or television, but like…i could live without any of that stuff. i just want to make a decent living, be able to own a house, not completely hate my job. yknow, not a glamorous life but a good one.

oh man, uhh i really enjoy writing chrissy & theo. they both speak to me. but tbh i’m not much like any of my characters? i’m boring af so i tend not to make any like me lol. i am kinda like theo in the sense that i’m quiet, and really just try to be a good person. other than that i’m most like jason solely based on the fact we’re both human lol

19. what’s the worst injury you’ve ever had ??
thankfully i’ve never really hurt myself too terribly except for a broken wrist, but between the ages of 10-17 i’d occasionally hurt my back by sitting weird, usually in an attempt to play video games without the glasses i desperately needed lol. once when i was like 11 i laid belly down on the couch with my elbows up on the arm of it for like three hours, which messed me up for days, then a few other times i hurt myself, but another bad one when i was 17, i had my back curved while sitting and propping my laptop up on my knee, tried to move and literally just cried, crawled on the floor, and laid there all night until i forced myself to move in the morning. lol luckily it hasn’t happened since i lost a little weight.
20. what’s a random or interesting fact about you ??
uhm, nothing? i literally can’t think of one, i’m dull af. i uh.. i replaced my own cpu cooler once? lmfao
21. do you listen to music while you write ??
sometimes. a lot of time i just like the silence or ambient background noise, but if i’ve got a fitting playlist for the vibe of what i’m trying to write, i’ll use it!
22. are you a morning, day, evening, or night writer ??
i’m a never writer, apparently v___v but lol ideally a night writer, my best work is between the hours of 12am & 4am, but my sleeping schedule is so inconsistent, and so is my dad’s who spends literally every waking moment of his telling me different stuff he wants done, so it’s tough to hit that sweet spot. i write whenever i get a chance tho.
23. have you ever roleplayed intoxicated ??
lol nah i’ve never even had a drink. like what teenager doesn’t have a drink at some point?? i told you i’m lame.
24. what language or languages do you speak ??
english, barely. and assassin’s creed 2 taught me some italian swears. and ac: odyssey has had me occasionally dropping “malaka” bombs since the day i first played it haha.
25. how long have you roleplayed ??
officially, about 9 years. i started at 11 on myspace, rping dragon ball z stuff. but basically about 12 years, if you count how from the ages of 8-11 i’d put an anime pic up on my myspace, pretend i was older, and talk to roleplayers i didn’t realize were roleplayers lmfao.
26. favorite roleplay genre ??
i like pretty much anything, tbh. as long as it’s well thought out, has an interesting plot, or whatever. sometimes it doesn’t even need that, it just needs to catch my eye or line up with something i’m looking for. but yeah, supernatural, multi-fandom, sci-fi, romance, town rps, high school/college rps, anime rp (well, pokemon mostly), harry potter… i’ve done it all tbh and don’t particularly have a favorite.
27. one sound you hate & one you love ??
the sound of cotton stretching is the absolute worst thing to me. or scratching cotton. idk, it just sends chills up and down my spine and makes my hands feel weak lmfao. i’m weird. i really love the sound of rain, or fire crackling, or like “ambient” harp or ukulele music.
28. do you believe in ghosts ??
short answer, yes. long answer… i’m pretty sure i was friends with a ghost girl as a kid?? like no joke, even looking back at it through rational “adult” eyes, i’m still convinced. my fam moved into a new apartment, and pretty much right after that i started having dreams about a girl my age at the time (11-12). i’d never seen her before but the dreams would be like just conversations, like i was visiting a friend or something. i don’t remember them much, but i do remember the feeling of someone else in my room all the time, like you know how if someone else is around you just know even if you’re not looking at them? like that. there was even one night i was getting in bed, laid there a minute, and then i could have absolutely sworn somebody came in the room and sat down next to me on the bed because i felt the bed sink a little under their weight, but i looked and no one was there. i had a really vivid conversation/dream/thing that night. then a few nights later, for the first time since moving there i didn’t have one. the next morning my dad was really freaked out and said he fell asleep in the chair, but woke up and couldn’t breathe, and felt cold little hands over his mouth. he rationalized it as just waking up from a nightmare but i didn’t think so, so that night when i went to sleep and saw her i got really upset, yelled at her for it, and woke up right after. then i never saw or heard anything even remotely similar again, like she left or disappeared or something. it’s so weird, and i know how crazy it sounds, but yeah. don’t get me started on the topic of ghosts lmfao. THEN AGAIN, like a year later we had a carbon monoxide scare, but i really doubt the two were related because that would mean there was an entire year that we were breathing it in and the monitor didn’t do anything lol
29. do you believe in aliens ??
no alien story, thankfully, but it just makes no sense not to believe in them to me. like, we probably don’t have them on earth, and we’ve probably never encountered any, but it’s as close as you can get to a mathematical certainty that there’s some other life out there in the universe.
30. do you believe in true love ??
like, people who are just meant for each other, like romantic soulmates? nah not really. but i believe that two people can grow to truly love one another. whether it’s based off an initial attraction/infatuation, or a friendship, or both. i’d actually argue that’s a simple explanation of the biological science behind the feeling of love, but that’s an essay i’m not gonna write lol. but there’s apparently a lot of different types of love, so i guess “true love” is suggestive?
also slightly unrelated but i don’t-quite-believe-in-but-am-open-to-the-idea-of soulmates, not necessarily as two souls who are just meant for each other romantically and always end up together, but more as two or more souls that gravitate toward each other to make up the important people in each other’s lives, like family members, lovers, or close friends. but that’s more of a theoretical idea/possibility than an actual belief of mine.

um, yes. lol i try not to, and i really do want everyone to be their best/happiest selves, but some people man… some people can take a long walk off a short pier lmao

💚 BAP in Düsseldorf - Forever with Babyz tour 09.12.2018 💚
I know this post has been very late, but I was sick and made a thread on twitter too!
We went to Germany the day of the concert, my mom was travelling with my sis and I and I also met one of my closest friends at the venue and it was so fun on our way to the hall and the concert. The next day we also went to the Xmas market (quiet boring SKDJKSJDK) and I will never forget this, but when I went to buy waffles and pancakes at this Turkish place, they also gave free food to homeless people (bless them omg)

This concert, was honestly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD. Theyre even better irl than seeing them on youtube, I couldnt believe my eyes and ears wow. Thank you for the great time ;;;
I have been following BAP since predebut and I never got the chance to see them live and knew this would be my last time and whatever happend I had to see my faves ;; Ive so many great memories with them, and apart from their amazing music, they're amazing people too and they went through so much :( their music helped me through a lot ;;
I had silver seats, but the venue was so empty I was front row in silver GA and Babys are one of the most mature fans I have ever seen, because nobody pushed me :o Even tall people gave me their spot ;;; so sweet! But tbh the empty venue made me very very sad, because they used to be damn huge and got sold out venues (even bigger than this one) but nobody really cared bc BAP was having fun with their loyal fans <3
BAP had made eco bags they would distribute to fans (there was a lottery I think?) (THIS IS SO ADORABLE MAN) And before the encore they also showed handwritten letters, which made me cry bc they talked about their hardship too.. :(

Anyways, during the MC Zelo also said he didn't had his contract anymore and they didnt plan to go Europe but desperately wanted to see us ;; They didnt want to leave for encore either, and they did it TWICE. I cried so much during goodbye, because it felt like BAPs last concert ever. But I trust BAP a lot and will support every decision by them ;; Youngjae also called Yongguk during the encore and it was honestly so beautiful to sing goodbye with them and the fans and seeing their old videos on the background ;; I also had a lightstick btw!!! and the green ocean was honestly beautiful ;;
During this concert, I rather paid attention to BAP than having fun, I wanted to have memories and my view... wow I would never exchange it for seats, I could see them so damn well and oh my god they’re so talented!! The vocals, the raps and the dance moves, they deserve so damn much.. Im so happy with this setlist bc it had SO SO SO MANY old songs ;;;

i am the second born of the 8 children my mother had. my sister lisa was the oldest and because she was born when my mother was just 13 years old, lisa was placed in the permanent care of my grandmother.
my grandparents doted over lisa. so much so that even had a computer in 1985. you know who had a computer in 1985? my sister and NASA! lisa also had a record player in her room and back then that was HUGE because most households in 1985, at least our hood, only had one record player and that shit was kept in the living room. anywho, lisa had a sizable record collection that included albums by stacy lattisaw and her fave group new edition.
it was through my sister that i discovered johnny gill. he and stacy lattisaw collaborated on several songs including the classic ballad “perfect combination.” i share all this because - why not? i’m in self-quarantine and have nothing else to do. no, but seriously, this is relative because in 1988, johnny gill joined new edition after bobby brown left. and after one successful album, the group went on hiatus and all of the members went on to have short lived successful solo careers including johnny gill.
johnny released his self-titled album in 1990 and achieved significant cross-over success when the lead single, the jimmy jan & terry lewis produced “rub you the right way,” topped the r&b chart and peaked at #3 on the hot 100 in the summer of 1990.
by this time, my sister and i lived in very different worlds. but i remember the most is that her love for music was subsided while i literally could not breathe without it. she had introduced me to johnny gill and i will forever be grateful because lawd knows that whenever a dj spins “rub you the right way” i lose my gawd damn mind!

1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk? More cereal. I’m lactose intolerant so I try to use just enough milk that I’m not eating dry cereal. Dry cereal is a different snack.
2: do you like the feeling of cold air on your cheeks on a wintery day? No.
3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books? Whatever is close. Usually random coupons.
4: how do you take your coffee/tea? Coffee with creamer, tea on its own. Unless it’s chai. I like chai with oat milk or vanilla creamer.
5: are you self-conscious of your smile? I used to be, but now I love smiling for the camera, at strangers, pretty much all the time. But I also spent a lot of time practicing and figuring out how to smile without looking weird when I was 9 and super self conscious.
6: do you keep plants? Yes! I have a plant that might be a Kalanchoe that I’ve managed to keep alive for a few years, despite always forgetting to water it and 3 butt succulents (living stones).
7: do you name your plants? Nope. Although I do refer to the butts as “The Butts”.
8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings? I write, mostly.
9: do you like singing/humming to yourself? Yes. I tend to sing song if I’m talking to myself.

So one time my BF and I went on a road trip up the oregon coast and then to Seattle. He was getting tired on our Seattle leg of the journey so we swapped and I drove for a while. I drive a ford and he drives a subaru. We were in the subaru, and I went to put it in drive, but instead turned the windshield wipers on full blast. Out of habit, I pulled down on it, since that’s where the gear shift is in my truck. His is not. I have yet to live it down.
19: do you keep a journal? what do you write/draw/ in it? I do! I have a planner for dates and scheduling stuff, a Bullet Journal that I keep my mood tracker and habit tracker and various lists in, a gratitude log, and my ‘write about your day and your feelings’ journal. I just filled my last one, and now I get to start a new one!
20: what’s your favorite eye color? Blue.
21: talk about your favorite bag, the one that’s been to hell and back with you and that you love to pieces. I have a 5.11 backpack that I used in college, and then used to travel, and now I’m currently using it as my roller derby bag. It’s super versatile. And I can put patches and pins on it.
22: are you a morning person? Yes. Or at least I pretend to be.
23: what’s your favorite thing to do on lazy days where you have 0 obligations? Knit and watch TV.

My uncle (who’s not my uncle, just a close family friend) bought me a diamond necklace when I was 10, because he said my first diamond shouldn’t be from a boy, so that way it would just be another piece of jewelry, and not my ‘first diamond.’ In hindsight, that was kind of a cool thing to do, because now I don’t feel like I have to keep or get rid of jewelry just because of who I associate it with. If it’s a nice piece, it’s a nice piece. It’s not my first diamond.
41: what’s the last book you remember really, really loving? Outlander. It’s so well researched, and it’s got political intrigue and smut but I never felt like I was being talked down to or treated like a dumb reader.
