Ok so I've just finished "The Madman's Tale", written by John Katzenbach and I'm in teaaaaaars.
It took me three months actually to finish reading it because, just as it happened to me with "The Analyst", I was very invested at the beginning but then had like a reader block at the middle of the book so I stopped reading for weeks but then decided to finish 200 pages in less than a week :D But it's such a wonderful book! I've enjoyed it a lot, there are things such as the descriptions of how harsh the world is for people with mental illness that were incredibly well done, or the beauty and pure nature of the friendship between Francis and Peter that definitely were the reason why I loved it so much.
(Spoilers ahead)
Now, all the last part, where they catch the killer were amazing, every single sentence got me at the edge of my seat, even though I have to admit that I was kind of frustrated because I kept reading and I didn't have a clue who the killer was. But all in all, wonderful.
As for the end, I'm kind of sad that we couldn't see more interactions of Francis with the brothers or Lucy before his suicide attempt, but it made me so glad when they established that they all have been keeping an eye on him 🥺💖
And even though it makes me sad to know that Peter died, I also think it's kind of fair, which doesn't erase the fact that in my head he lived and after Francis got out of the hospital, they kept on seeing each other regularly(?
But anyways, it's a wonderful book and I wanted to share my thoughts with someone 💖

La historia de un loco

As if the fact Connor's character makes no sense to me weren't enough, his girlfriend Niki is literally Miss Not Like Other Girls + she is super gorgeous + they met as children and have always been there for each other.
The angst is getting less and less angsty by the second. I am going to straight up assume Niki is Connor's imaginary girlfriend at this point (Now THAT would be a good plot twist at the end). She is too good to be true and exactly what Connor needed just when his parents died.

I don't have any strong Grisham opinions, he's in the same boat as Stephen King for me - good for a quick summer beach read, entertaining but never excellent with some really great bits but also some really annoying flaws... I'd reccomend just borrowing one book you like the summary of, like The Firm or The Confession bc if you like one book you will probs like the rest, and if you hate it you won't enjoy any of them.
that's exactly the vibe he gives me as well. i mean, i love me a good thriller just as much as i love deep, thought-provoking novels, i definitely need both in my life, so i know i'll probably enjoy his stories. but as you said, it's the flaws that are gonna be the dealbreaker. i'll def follow your advice, better make sure before buying! thanks!

What's your favourite book and favourite author? 🤭
(I'm going to guess it's about Mori) << am i right? 👀
What's one thing you want to do this year that you never got to do?
What's your sexuality? do you like guys, girls, both?
What's one thing you're scared of?
What's one thing you're proud of?
Are you more into maths, science or arts?
What's your dream career?
What's one thing that's considered 'normal' but it annoys you?
What should your followers call you? (cathy plus e, plinko mori, max?) 👀
(P.S Only Answer What You Want) 💚
<<have a good day>> ❤️
My favourite book is Animal Farm by George Orwell and my favourite author is indeed Ougai Mori
What I want to do this year is read and finish some books actually– One of Neil Gaiman and other from John Katzenbach
I'm a pansexual trans boy but I'm actually wondering if I'm gay tbh
My mom
I'm proud of finally find a teacher that understands me, can make me understand my reality and that trusts me to help him in his personal things while he helps me in my personal things
I'm (what in my country at least is) matemático-humanista-artístico, a math person that loves also anything related to history + languages and also art (Literature and Music only)
«People that have traumas with dogs don't exist», «Ougai Mori is a pedo», and the obligation to celebrate mother and father's day when there are many people with abusive parents
They can call me «Dude», «Max», «The cat's/CDC's dad», I actually don't mind Cathy and the last thing would be Plinko Mori
