I want to dedicate a love post to Enrico Pucci because I just love him so much and my brain will never be the same again
I love that he's complex and flawed and driven by his grief and the depth of his love. I love how unacceptable his destiny is and he will do anything to open everyone's eyes to the absence of power they have in the story's world. It is impossible for him to exist in his world where he was created only to serve the purpose of giving the Joestars something to oppose and grow from, and the remedy he has found to this is to simply take control of the story, end everything and start again with the knowledge he has acquired, and maybe, the hope to free himself from his sins and bring back his loved ones.
I admire his will and determination to strive for greatness, self-growth and to see things to their end more than anything, staying calm and not backing away, seizing every opportunity. He also learns from everyone around him, from their battle tactics, from their relationships. He's a very smart and analytical character even though he's also stubborn and throws fits from time to time, which show his humanity, which is necessary since he's so superior without those flawed moments. I like his loneliness, the way he has a way to talk to and taunt people that's very unique to him, and directed at himself, he doesn't care if you don't understand, he doesn't care if he's celebrating his victories alone, he'll do it anyway. He's fun and quirky to look at, when he interacts with people, he's fun to anger, and it's satisfying to see him getting in dire situations (especially if he gets up from them)
He's evil and flawed and is a ruthless, one-track minded man, he's self-centered and can't accept (understand?) that people have different mindsets than himself. He knows he's right from start to finish, and that makes him such a great character with incredible confidence and charisma. He's the most terrifying character in all of JJBA, arguably the most powerful, his ability is just pure chaos and his eyes are cold as hell. He's got a strong inclination for revenge and likes to carry it in style, even if it means taking some damage in the process. I also like how ambiguous he is with some other characters, taking advantage of the fact they are drawn to him, using his appeal as a means to obtain what he wants. His dynamic with Dio brings a lot of depth to Dio's character, giving him the almost 'humanity' he severely lacks in other parts (especially SDC), it's very enjoyable to watch the way they interact together, which is so different from how we see them act with other people. The whole idea of the bone, fusing, and MIH is aesthetically really interesting and I liked trying to notice moments where the Dio influence might have taken over Pucci's decisions.
The themes surrounding him are very referenced and fascinating, religion, art, biology, physics and space, technology, philosophy, the stand lore... The details and references that come give depth to his character are limitless, did you know there's an actual italian scientist on gravity whose name was Enrico Pucci? That the adulterous priest he reads about in church is a famous painter who regretted taking his oath at 15 and had ties to the real Pucci family in Italy? He's also a very well constructed character in terms of psychology, he's never OOC, he feels very 3D in a 2D world.
Also he's awesome black representation in terms of character design with references to fashion (Versace '97), probably Michael Jackson too, the flag of the city of Florence, the emblem of the Pucci family... His character design is holy with just a touch of sinful, and I'm not even talking about how cool Whitesnake is in general. I really like how Pucci/Whitesnake oppose both Weather/Weather Report but also Jonathan in terms of design. He's the most beautiful character I've ever seen overall, wears a beautiful tight and shiny gown, beautiful both in color and in black and white, first has a fun, pretty but manly design, which turns into a cute star-shaped motif shamelessly stolen from the Joestars, he has tired downturned eyes filled with depression, and the cutest nose in all of JJBA, he's tall and handsome with the big chest and shoulders especially in anime but also cute and feminine and has thin wrists and those cute sleeves... He's giving mom and dad at the same time and I love how curious he is with the green baby and how proud and happy he is with C-Moon and MIH and YES HES MY FAVE ANYWAYS
I didn't even get into how interesting he represents the relationship between faith, philosophy and science, or his relationship to the concept of blood ties, I could go on for hours but I'm late for class

Notes: I headcanon that MIH created the new universe and the Part 1-Part 6 Universe still exists, just wiped the characters memories of it, like all of them. Except Emporio. This explains, spoilers ahead, headcanons for Emporio’s and some others!
Hol Horse from Part 3
somewhere it mentions him being from Eastern Europe whether in a novel or something, but I headcanon he’s Greek-American.
Comes from a semi-big and wealthy Greek family of 5 siblings, 3 sons (including him) and 2 daughters. He’s the youngest (of the sons) and only his sisters are stand users
Has a kid somewhere, I just have no idea where exactly, maybe in Cario or somethin
Was born on December 13th (which is conveniently National Horse Day in America), 1966 which makes him 26-27 during SDC
Trish Una from Part Five
Had a stepfather at one point who was from America. Wasn’t that nice of a guy
Her grandfather on her mother’s side was still alive during Part Five and told her stories, died in 2004 :(
Similar thing to Doppio and Diavolo with two minds inhabiting one body. Except ✨she✨ Was the evil one, we all Stan a evil pink haired stand user. Or at least I do, wasn’t that evil anymore at the end of Golden Wind
Green spots appeared in her hair whenever she got really pissed
Married Giorno at 20. Yay.
Hates Dislikes Mista because he’s stinki
Erina Pendleton from Part One
Was from a small, wealthy family of 4, including her. One twin sister, a mother and a father.
Had a sort of birthmark in her hair were there was a brown spot, as she got into her older years that spot became black.
Could play the violin thanks to her twin
Had a pet cat named Jacquelin, idk
Planted flowers outside her house for some reason
Rohan Kishibe from Part Four
From an average sized family. Divorced parents and 2 siblings, a pair of twins. He was the oldest and the trio were all stand users, only his mother was a stand user though.
Was just always that weird. Wouldn’t cry in the day and all week but at the most random time on Tuesdays as a baby weird
His sister lives in France as a fashion designer and his brother lives in England as a ex-mangaka and a current novel writer. So yeah, pretty successful family.
He got his weirdness from his dad
Suzi Q from Part Two
Was raised as an orphan at an orphanage. Was quite quiet as a kid.
I don’t really know what else to say except from the fact she was an only child.
Emporio Alnino from Part Six
Secco’s kid, do- don’t ask.
True stand is called Turn Down For What which he awakened somewhere late 2014 to early 2015.
His mother dabbled in fortune telling before being sent to prison for unknown reasons, and was killed.
Has a fascination in Greek mythology, tarot cards and baseball.
sorry but like. NOTHING is as funny to me as jjba comments on the section of some Queen music video ... like... some of the jokes on Made in Heaven (mainly mih because only like 1% of comments ARENT jjba related) make me laugh so much its just.... I feel like I shouldn't be and yet...
So the ending of Stone Ocean really got me thinking about my AU and now theres so much more that I want to add into it. Especially with however Diavolo and Rallen are going to track down Giorno.
So all of this MiH shit that I gotta think about has made my brain buzz nonstop for the past almost two days. My AU takes place in the Irene-verse, I planned it this way, it was intentional.
[Image ID: screenshot taken from the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Fandom Wiki. Its a block of text of a response that was asking about how Pucci’s stand, Made in Heaven, actually worked. The third point reads, “So basically the first universe is the normal one, the second universe has knockoff Jolyne, Jotaro, and presumably other characters, and in the final universe the souls of the dead are returned, and Pucci is not reincarnated.” End Image ID]
My whole point with this is that, even though I didn’t fully understand MiH when creating this AU, now that the anime has explained it a bit more, I see that my interpretation of it is basically almost correct…with some bending of the rules simply for plot reasons. This then explains why in my AU that Bruno, Abbacchio, and Narancia exist and are alive. It also goes along with that whole concept of fate that those three will inevitably meet no matter what, including meeting Mista, Fugo, and Giorno. While under different circumstances, the six of them meet be caused thats what was destined to happen.
[Image ID: a screenshot from this user’s twitter account, it reads, “Something that I love about JJBA and stands is the concept of fate. No matter how much someone tries to change it, they ultimately cannot change their own or someone elses fate because its what the universe has already planned for them. They can always try to buy themselves time, but in the end, fate will always win. No matter the person, no matter how powerful the stand it, fate always finds a way. Ex. Rolling Stones from pt 5 and then with MiH, although the universe is different, fate still played out similarly but with different situations.” End image ID]
Now how does this tie into Rallen and Diavolo?
Diavolo was always fated to find those arrows from the very beginning. He’s the reason why the Joestars and Dio manifested stands in the first place. He’s the cause for part 3 onwards. Of course, Diavolo isn’t aware of how selling those arrows to Enya could have eventually caused the universe to reset twice in a row, all he knew is that he needed only one of them. And that arrow, gave him a stand with the ability to see/travel through a short period of time to prepare himself/Doppio for their inevitable fate(ex. That fight with Risotto Nero).
During the final battle between Giorno and Diavolo, Dia uses Epitaph and sees what Giorno’s fate is supposed to be, Diavolo is absolutely certain of this win, theres nothing that should be able to change it, right? Wrong, because Giorno stabbed himself with the stand arrow and gained Gold Experience Requiem, a stand which exists outside of time itself, which is a huge problem for Diavolo because this means that although fate is technically correct, how can fate be accurate when one exists outside of the fabric of reality?
By using Requiem to his advantage, Giorno bent the rules and seemingly changed his fate. However, once again, fate always comes out on top, Giorno just merely bought himself time, just like he did with Bruno all the way back at San Giorgio(Bruno was already dead, he was just a walking and talking zombie at that point bc Diavolo already killed him). Giorno’s ultimate fate is to be killed by Diavolo, or in this case, Cremisi, the fusion of Rallen and Diavolo, because that was the original prediction of Epitaph all the way back in 2001. Giorno didn’t change his fate, he bought himself time. Diavolo’s fate was never to die infinite deaths until the end of time itself, Diavolo’s fate was to be victorious in the battle between him and Giorno and to remain the most powerful stand user in all of Italy and the entirety of the Mafia.
Even in the original universe, Rallen was going to end up meeting Diavolo, albeit under completely different circumstances. But thats only if Giorno didn’t buy himself those extra 21 extra years by throwing Diavolo into the infinite death loop.
And once again, due to fate, Bruno, Abbacchio, and Narancia will die…eventually. Maybe it’ll be under better circumstances? Maybe Giorno will be the one to kill them this time around instead of Diavolo?
I have so much more I want to talk about but I’m so tired and need sleep. (( _ _ ))..zzzZZ Feel free to send asks if you have any questions regarding my AU! I’d love to respond and give yall more information that I have on it.
Sometimes I get really sad because Araki said Joseph was still alive during Stone Ocean... does that mean he never got to reunite with Caesar in the afterlife?
So I finished the Stone Ocean anime last night and…
it was BEYOND amazing.
I really love how they kept most of the details in the manga and even added in some extra details like that one bit in the first episode! It really made the scene better and more enjoyable in comparison to the manga, and seeing all of this animated after over a year of waiting is just so surreal.
Animation
I LOVED the quality of the animation! It was certainly a massive leap from the one used in part 5, and the anime had a bunch of very smooth transitions between scenes, pretty and vibrant colours and beautiful scenery. In fact, it’s still something I can’t get over.
Opening
Don’t even get me started on the opening- I was so happy when I found out it was going to be in 3D again! I really missed those 3D openings so I’m super glad they decided to incorporate that again for Stone Ocean! The song is an absolute banger, and the animation style of the opening has honestly got to be one of my favourites due to all the colours and the really fluid animation style. I also loved finding all the Easter eggs, and the large amount of them almost makes it seem like we’re saying goodbye to this universe for the last time, and it makes me kind of emotional.
Character Designs
The character designs are just- *chefs kiss.* I really loved how everyone looked in the anime, especially these two in particular despite them not having much screen time in this first cour of the anime. I was also really happy seeing Jolyne, Ermes and Foo all together since they’re so cute! I’m really glad everyone turned out looking awesome in the anime, especially due to the fact that I was worried about colour palettes long before Stone Ocean was even announced, but DP really went way beyond my expectations for this one.
Stands
I absolutely loved how the Stands looked in the anime, especially Whitesnake and Kiss! After seeing the Stand design sheets I wasn’t really expecting them to look super good or anything, so I’m super glad they ended up looking awesome in the anime. The sound effects are also really cool sounding, so I can’t wait to finally hear Diver Down, C-Moon and MIH in action.
Pacing
The pacing of the anime was amazing. None of the episodes dragged and as far as I remember they didn’t leave out as much details from the manga as they usually do. I really loved how they managed to fit so much action in just 24 minutes while still keeping it entertaining and suspenseful, and this certainly makes me very excited for the next cour. I can’t wait to see the rest of the anime given the fact that the anime is really accurate in terms of detail compared to the manga which makes everything much better.
Overall: 10/10
Overall, I believe this adaptation deserves a 10/10. This is certainly one of the best anime adaptations of JJBA so far, and I definitely can’t wait to see more of it. ‘Till next time!
Jotaro learns about Star Platinum's time stop through his battle with Dio, even though The World's time stop was supposed to be Dio's ace in the hole for that climatic showdown. Instead it backfires and inadvertently aids his nemesis.
Pucci figures out how to make full use of Made in Heaven's time accelerating and universe-creating powers thanks to Jotaro and Star Platinum attempting to defeat him using the very power that helped them defeat Pucci's friend and Lord, Dio. Pucci then uses that discovery (plus MiH's incredible speed, a trait that StarPlat excels in as well, though not to MiH's level) to destroy Jotaro.
I don't see this talked about much but it is one of my favourite things about the JJBA saga.
(1) i dont feel like Fate is even a "real" force in the jojoverse. like youve said, only the villains see it as a cosmic entity, but then they enforce those views by giving them form through stands (epitaph, btd, MiH). even when others can "talk to it", fate whispers back in very vague, unreliable ways (mista, rolling stones, thoth). the heroes take the brunt of what Fate actually is - poverty, abuse, familial bonds, entirely natural circumstance that set your lifes course without your say in it
putting the rest of this under a cut bc you sent a lot;
as much as i disagree with you that johnny’s death was somehow a cosmic punishment for a moral transgression - most protagonist deaths in jjba tend to be christological sacrifices, and i think the fact that johnny literally uses the corpse of jesus christ to make himself die in his son’s place is a pretty clear symbol - i also don’t really understand how what you’re describing is any different to i’m saying. at the end of the day what is the difference between someone dying ‘because they deserve it’ and someone dying ‘because it had to happen that way’? the way you describe the ‘story’s moral compass’ just sounds exactly like a cosmic force ala ‘fate’ as far as im concerned
(2) so kinda? even if sbrverse = ireneverse (which i dont think works thematically and my geekrot dumbass brain says thats not how mih works), johnny dies not because its a callback, he dies because he betrays gyros legacy (gyro died because he couldnt let himself push the injury onto an innocent), and his own isolated story was full of people dying disgracefully or leaving nothing behind because they lack integrity, and act out of desperation, false nostalgia, self-interest only, etc
(3) what im trying to say, if characters in jojo get “punished”, its not by actual “forces” implied by the non-existent world-building, but by each story’s moral compass - cos araki kind of just chooses a theme, throws characters into the world, and sees where will it take them weekly/monthly
