Jango's cover story has been the most entertaining so far, which is surprising because I didn't care for Jango at all. But somehow this little dude with heart shaped eyes managed to get into a dance competition and make friends with a marine to the point where said marine came to his aid in court and now they're all just dancing 😭

Usopp and trying to deny his lies what he already said

Ok this will be drastic thought and idea so I straight up tell that the main topic is death, tests on other people and heavy guilt... Oh and a film Red spoilers, but fact from it was a thing in my head even before finding about it and it fits to that narrative what I have on my mind.

so um...

Since all of Usopp's lies or just his words at the end comes true, right? Some faster, some slower, yeah, and...

Most of people take a guess that since Usopp likes to thinker and experiment that Banchina was a scientist. And all Usopp fans remember that one reason why Usopp hates mushrooms. Cuz he got "sick" due to it.

We know that Jango got his hypnosis powers due to a mushroom what grew on his chin and what he ate. Uta had those mushrooms what prevented her from falling asleep what had a major side effects.

And thought starts on that what if Banchina knew about that Usopp's lies comes true at the end or... Could be triggered to be more accurate or faster? From a filler with Little East Blue we know, I KNOW THAT FILLERS ARE NOT CANON BUT SHUT UP I AM JUST WONDERING, that Yasopp used to lie a lot when he was younger, so something had to stop him. Something like for example realization of what his words can do. Cuz probably Banchina wanted to help him or find a more useful use in that trait of his, maybe make it stronger and useful in combat.

And there for comes the mushrooms, mushroom what like a drug or such can make the words have a "stronger power" as such, probably having that side effect of it, right?

And as so since her first test subject drifted away, she turned to Usopp to check how a small portion of it, or just a portion of it would work on him. And as he trusts his mom and she told him that he might feel funny after it he ate it. And it didn't went well BUT it worked cuz it triggered that thing that the lie is stronger and as kids mostly go too hard on their words when they are upset, scared and confused...

He might have started to scream that she was sick to give him that to eat, deadly sick.

Cuz well, he never mentions his mom or such, he only tries to find and meet his dad, reasons unknown or to kick his ass or just need to meet him again, and fact that he might be responsible because of that she got sick on a unknown cureless disease might eat him from the inside.

That might be an even bigger nail to how he felt while the Water 7 and whole action with Merry, remember what Usopp said just before Skypiea Arc.

He called it out and it really happened, she got smashed to the point that she was unable to no longer swim. As he tried to deny it, that she is fine, that he will fix her, but it was too late. Too late to deny his words. Just like when it was with his mother. And so his desperation was on even higher level as it might be thought about how it was.

But hey it's just my theorizing and thinking about the most saddest scenerios and all

Having to rewatch Syrup Village for Lucky Break really emphasized how badly opla dropped the ball on that arc. Usopp has so many amazing moments in terms of his character and strength, but opla showed none of that because the writers were too obsessed with making Kuro look cool to let Usopp get the attention he deserved in HIS arc. I really hope they don't continue to treat him like a background character in later seasons. His actor is great and deserves a real chance to show that off. Hopefully he'll get more lines than a minor villain in season 2.

They really should have shown why Jango is suddenly in the marine. I know there is a short story in the manga about it. And the anime like never animate them. But as it directly explain his presence here it should have been included.
