🦋 Black lacquered banisters and balustrades combined with simply white spindles. “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.” A dear friend reached out to me yesterday after settling on her new home. She sent me this photo from my Instagram feed complimenting me on my design work. She asked for guidance on how to achieve this look. I am both thrilled and humbled. This is one of my signature design calls I suggest in homes. Paint can transform a worn and outdated stairway to the next level. No demo required. The cost is minimal. The results are FAB💯 #thankyou #itsherthing #staircase #blackandwhite #deardorothy #lifeofadesigner #dcdesigner #dcdesignerseries #interiordesign #dramaticentrance #interiordecorating #interiorfinishes #thedetails #nodemoreno (at Fairfax Station, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPTkUtbhuNv/?utm_medium=tumblr

Mothers have different stories to tell and this blog is an appreciation of myself as a mother. All parents are not perfect but we still want to be a good role model for our children. Don’t doubt yourself as a mother, you may be doing small things now but with great love make big things happen.

Reminisced
Cooking is at once child’s play and adult joy. And cooking done with care is an act of love “~ Craig Claiborne ~
Yes, Cooking was once my child’s play and now is my joy.
Do you have that feeling when you cook and eat this particular food it reminds you of a person and brings back memories? Well, this definitely do. I know someone who introduces the recipe to me and is now my cup of tea. This may look easy and transparent for all Filipinos. It comes with a variety of pork, prawns, fish, beef and chicken combined with mixed vegetables with its main ingredient which is tamarind. This is Sinigang, a sour tasting soup originated in the Philippines.
As the saying goes "Once tasted always wanted”, It rouses my senses because of the sourness and slight spice. It makes my body sweat which helps me cool down during rainy season. It’s very refreshing and appetite boosting dish perfect for the Philippines tropical climate, no wonder it is a hit for us Filipinos and considered as our main dish.
Although foreigners have mixed views about this dish, Filipinos stay fearless over these views of our beloved Sinigang.
It’s one of my comfort food and special to me mainly because it reminds me of my husband who always supports my cooking.
So every time I consumed a bowl of Sinigang, It perfectly fit my feelings for him “Asim Kilig” (the sour tingle of joy).

Hello, I’m Jun. A proud wife, an experimental and supportive mother. I’m an Engineer by profession, but always go back to my first love, cooking. I’m not a chef or enrolled in a cooking school. I’m just a simple person who loves to cook and loves to eat.
I remember that I was in elementary when I always saw my mom cook food for us. I’m not bothered and interested at all with her cooking since I’m lazy. But one day there was this feeling that caught my attention. I followed my mom, watched her cook and helped her. It was the longest day I was for my entire life since I got a lot of curiosity and interests towards the food and at that moment I wrote my first cookbook with my first recipe was Escabeche.
I’m writing this to share my joy through my simple cooking and also the different aspects of my life and what it brought my purpose that I have been searching all along. I may travelled countries to know my worth and purpose, only to realize that it is only in our home what I been missing all along.
People have always ups and downs and I hope through my blog, I can inspire lives as much as its inspires me to continue to cook tirelessly.
Again, welcome to my blog.
