i think what i adore about ladynoir beyond high school age (18 and over) is the opportunity it leaves for some of the most DELICIOUS best friends to lovers scenarios. because, like, two people who've been fighting side by side for years? who've known each other long enough to make jokes about it, haha remember when we were fourteen and you-- we AGREED to never speak of it!!!! who've spent so long learning each other inside out, even, in chat noir's case, getting over feelings, that the idea of anything romantic between them is so far off the radar that they don't feel the need for certain boundaries, because why would it matter if they made jokes about how attractive they find each other, about getting married, about how they could totally mess with the rest of the miracle team by pretending they're hooking up because it's so far out of the realm of possibility.

but then there would be that imperceptible shift. the moment where one of them makes a joke and it feels just a bit more loaded than it should. gazes lingering where they never lingered and playful smiles turning curious. the sudden awareness that, while maybe they were cuddling on a rooftop with their best friend, they were also wrapped up in the arms of someone they trust with their lives, and is extremely attractive, and, wait, if the only reason it was platonic before was because there were no feelings, what does THIS mean?

Hey so I’ve mentioned this a lot of times on my main blog, but I wanted to put this out over here since it is Hallow’s Eve. I always give out little tchotchkes on Halloween along with candy. This year, I’ve completely switched over to 100% doohickeys and doodads— think mechanical pencils, shaped erasers, little notebooks, squishes, vampire teeth and spiders rings and all. It started years ago in college when I signed up for a dorm Halloween event where kids from an area that was too dangerous to really trick or treat through got bussed in to trick or treat at our dorm. I bought some candy and dollar store Halloween themed stuff with what i had. And you know what the kids went ape shit over?

Motherfucking. Mechanical. PENCILS!!

These kids could not get enough of them. They literally went “PENCILS??!” I had never seen kids get so hyped up for pencils lmao. They were the first things to go. Candy is fleeting; the little pencils you can bring to school to flex are eternal, until you inevitably lose one of the refill parts and then they aren’t but listen, in that one moment they are infinite. And its nice thinking that maybe some kids who don’t always have access to school supplies not only get them, but get them in fun shapes and designs.

Anyway. I recommend people to give out fun stuff like this not just because kids seem to genuinely enjoy them, but also because there’s this thing called the Teal Pumpkin Project here in America. You can put out a teal pumpkin to show that you are giving away non-candy items and sign your address up so parents of children with allergies know that there are houses their kids can safely and happily trick or treat at! It’s a win-win! Plus, if you accidentally bought too much, it’s not like candy— just pack it away, pencils and fidget spinners will be good next year, too! :)

the show is actually way better than the book bc it turns key characters not white which actually takes away some of the extremely terrible implications of white ownership. most of the people mad about the show were people mad about this aspect and them making the homophobic parts into less homophobic more explicitly gay parts

the way the invincible fandom treats amber really annoys me. i know we have only had one season, but there are literal space colonisers, murderers and villains (shout out to nolan) in season one alone and yet amber is the most HATED character right now, when her worst offense was being an annoying teenage girl (and the victim of shoddy writing). if amber had no backbone like she did in the comics, yall would call her boring– but her having a strong personality in the show isn't any better, because y'all call her a 'bitch'. SIGH.

A miniseries of post canon Firstprince living their lives (that’s what I want for a sequel, not a plot, just the visual media equivalent of domestic one-shots): Living together, More about Henry’s grief and depression, I can’t tell if Movie Alex has ADHD but maybe more on that, Maybe Princess Catherine coming back and reconciling with Henry (currently writing a fic on it), Maybe? The King reconciling with Henry (wrote a meta on it), Proposal (Casey’s freaking thread reply drove me insane), Marriage, Kids, So like, snippets of the next five years of their lives

(also unpopular opinion but… personally I don’t want Henry to abdicate? It’s an issue I had with the bonus chapter but one of Casey’s IG story wrote about why they wrote it like that, and I realized it might have something to do with me being kind of young and the ideologies that comes with that immaturity. I kinda thought Henry could take a step back without stepping down, like irl Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice who had their own normal jobs and have more of a say in what events to show up to. Idk. I’m a “fix this system” rather than “fuck the system” person, and I think there’s just power in having a gay prince who can keep both his title and his love.）
