People give young Anakin so much shit but he is such a wonderful character. He’s selfless and compassionate and loyal and his world changes so fast yet he keeps these qualities and stays true to himself, and this is recognized by everyone around him. At the ripe age of nine he transitions from slavery to freedom, is undertaken by the Jedi, and parts ways with his mother, his only family. That is so much for a young child to go through. I can’t even imagine how his mother must feel, giving her son up to the mercy of the Galaxy and somewhere deep down accepting she’ll never see him again but knowing he’s going on to do great things. He’s gonna help so many people. She doesn’t hold him back from his dream and that takes so much strength. Yes she’ll be alone but she takes comfort in his good heart and his heroism and I am not okay over Anakin and Shmi.
