incomplete list of weird/interesting manga-anime discrepancies

-you know the bit where they break into the girls highschool in episode 2? yea thats chapter 56. spliced into the middle of chapter 4. its supposed to go before the bit with the ghost family as a lead up to the mogami arc with mob starting to consider evil spirits as just as much “people” as living humans are. all things considered its kind of weird how well it fits its anime placement

-ritsu in the manga gets introduced in the same chapter as teru. you dont see mobs family at all for the first few chapters. infact i dont think his parents appear until like. chapter 25????? every interaction you see between mob and any of his family is completely made up for the anime

-in the manga during the claw arc instead of reigen sending them away all the lackeys just stood there awkwardly during the fight w the scars fdnjksndkjgnd

-mogami arc got GUTTED my god. the part where the fake psychics tried to murder minori got removed, shinras role in the arc got reduced to basically nothing, they move mogamiland ritsu to a bridge like 50 feet away instead of having him walk right over mob, mob only gets beat up like twice, the cat lives, the boxcutter bit is totally removed, the fight with the spirits is made a lot more abstract and less graphic. like im glad this one took the hit instead of the separation arc bc i cant imagine that arc ever being effective as one episode but wow.

-putting the “mob finding his family dead” thing at the end of the episode instead of in the middle of a chapter where it originally was was an objectively hilarious move

-rip the scene of teru outsmarting all three claw guys and saying “say old man have you ever been tortured before” unfortunately all scenes of teru being competent are not plot relevant and must die. also teru can make shadow clones

-hey remember those weird satellite people in claw keeping the viewer updated on where all the characters were in that infinite arc?

-mob with a gun.

-mob getting briefly knocked out while fighting toichiro and dimple possessing him then getting kicked out was replaced w toichiro just throwing him out the window or somethhing???

-toichiro saying that he only kept the super five around as spare batteries and draining serizawas power getting cut was a personal affront to me

-every single emotion mob cycled through in the anime got a 100% meter. the kid was super emotionally unstable in that fight

-that old man whos house they went to whos wraith made everyone asleep that they exorcised? yea they anime team made that up. they never went to his house in the manga, he just went to spirits and such for a shoulder massage

-manga reigen got 0 money for helping the yokai dude. it wasnt on the table. also most of the stuff he was saying was lifted from a video game serizawa played which he pointed out. also serizawa thought getting arrested was a type of spell

-takenakas general meanness was significantly toned down manga takenaka was a huge bitch

-in general the alien arc was a lot funnier in the manga? like the scene where reigen crashes they had reached a dead end on an extremely narrow path and were driving in reverse while tome and takenaka were screaming at each other in the back and inukawa was 5 seconds from snapping and killing everyone in the car. these might be my favorite pages in the entire manga they as so fucking funny

-originally when tome said she wouldnt keep climbing reigen suggested mob carry her with telekinesis (which horrified her) and mob said he was too motion sick to use his powers (obvious lie) but could carry her instead which got her to get up

-mezato asking mob to sign a t shirt for the psycho helmet cult in exchange for relationship advice got cut

-i cry every day that the sequence of ???% waking up didnt get animated it set a very different tone than the anime did. the anime was like. slow build up of dread. the manga was immediately bone deep horror i was literally sitting in my room yelling “WHAT???” over and over again at my computer as i clicked through it

-shigeo and mob conversation cut down significantly, all the references to the body improvement club being mob making a new self rather than embracing who he really is and being scared that all the friends hes made wouldnt like the real him removed </3

-the scene where reigen takes his shoes off is made a lot less somber and depressing. it feels less like “oh he knows hes going to die” and more like. triumphant? in the anime

-100% shigeo kageyama is an anime addition they added specifically to ruin my “the first time we see mob 100% is to fight dimple and the last time is to stop himself from fighting dimple” observation

-anime teru generally seems like hes in a better place than manga teru? manga teru seems very melancholy and like he doesn’t really know what to do with his life or his place in the world (which seems to put shigeo off) but anime teru is like wanna go shopping ^_^ *sips tea happily*

-manga shigeo deliberately threw the cake directly in reigens face and my fury over them making this ambiguous will last until i am dead

How were BBC Sherlock shippers so rancid about a WOMAN who wasnt even in the SAME SHOW?????

Martin Freeman of BBC Sherlock insulted Elementary and specifically Lucy Liu in the press. He straight up called Lucy Liu a "dog" in an interview APPARENTLY as a joke, because calling female actors ugly is hilarious. Benedict Cumberbatch was more measured about it, but he still said he was cynical about Elementary because it would lose the "male friendship" dynamic, which of course Johnlock shippers used against Joan Watson fans. Even the lead BBC Sherlock actors got in on the yaoi victimization of Joan Watson... 😔

she wasn't even in the same SHOW as the yaoi I've been convinced she deserves to win the entire poll. I was a Johnlocker but I did watch the first season of Elementary and it was fine????? It was totally okay????? Especially in hindsight given how hard Sherlock season four flopped. Also Lucy Liu is a queen and deserved zero vitriol for *checks notes* playing a character???? A fucking fictional character???????? Oh my god we were all SO mean to this show and we (or at least I) thought it was like The Good Fight™️, like we were defending BBC Sherlock against copyright infringement and straightwashing and Jonny Lee Miller's bizarre scarf, (it wasn't a good scarf I do stand by that) but then Elementary didn't make Holmes and Watson a couple either???? And also it didn't insult its audience constantly etc etc we've all seen the Hbomberguy Sherlock is Garbage video. This is really long sorry hashtag justice for Joan Watson.

Misa Amane

she gets treated in-canon the way fandoms treat female characters that Threaten an m/m ship. it's like, "oh why don't you go sit in the corner and be pretty, misa, while the Men have intelligent conversation and pretend they aren't ten seconds from fucking each other, doesn't that sound nice?" it's infuriating. and MAYBE it's better now but i remember her getting treated the same way in fanfiction too, like we all need to do just as badly by our female secondary characters as fucking tsugumi ohba, but with the added insult of making her be alternately oblivious of the relationship between light and L or actively trying to sabotage it—incompetently, of course, because god forbid misa be allowed dignity or moments of cleverness.

she's one of the first characters I think of when I consider old school fandom misogyny. The annoying bitch and clingy crazy gf allegations were AFTER HER ASS. She's also a lot more intelligent than people gave her credit for, but most seem inclined to take the Very Biased word of our unreliable, narcissistic narrator and his homoerotic arch nemesis and claim that just because she's bubbly and into romance that she's also a complete moron. Which is blatantly untrue. Everyone was afraid of Misa girlbossing too hard. Killing people and devoting yourself to the deranged twink of your dreams even though you know he'll never love you back??? Having a hardcore goth aesthetic and being so Hot even literal Death Gods are into you?? God forbid women do ANYTHING!

Not only is she the victim of yaoi culture, she is the victim of early 2000s misogyny by an author that wanted to introduce a girl character because he knew his male rivals were getting too homoerotic. She is a goth bimbo icon who portrays what I think is one of the few callouts for stan culture and what parasocial relationships can do to both the stan and the idol. The fact that she is a toxic fan of Kira and also hot, funny, sociable is tragic in its own way, which I think the author did try to touch on but was too misogynistic too really get through. Of course, she was reduced to villain status by the fandom and anime alike because she got in the way of the supposed romance in their psychological horror anime.

Simon and his father take a trip to the Scottish highlands for the summer, he knows only one of them will leave.

Johnny is a boy obsessed with filming explosions from fireworks he's not supposed to have.

Los Vaqueros are a group of Mexican teens derailed from their field trip waiting for teachers that might not come back.

Huge lore and plot dump below.

Mild tw for Simons father

Simons father has always taken him on hunting trips, sometimes he hated them, some times he liked them. But he'd never taken him this far from manchester. There are weapons in the cabin they rent, his father is eerily sober, one of them is going to die out here. Simon can only hope that Tommy won't be next.

Johnny meets him when he strays too far from his father. Part of it on purpose, he would never be on equal footing, more so when his father had the rifle and not him. He's in the tree's, at first simon thinks its prey, but there's a camera lense staring right at his scope.

Los Vaqueros come later, the leader arguing with a girl with choppy hair, Valeria and Alejandro trade glares while Rodolfo tries to mediate. Their bus broke down, leaving them stuck in town desperately renting a cabin near but far from the one simon is in.

It's the most interesting thing thats happened to johnny, and in the makeshift bonfire Valeria corners him and Simon. Her gaze is snakelike and a ring clinks on the bottle she's holding

"You say that he's an asshole yes? Your padre. Mine was the same, en mi opinión? It is kill or be killed."

Valeria nods at Alejandro, she tells them of a faceless force where she's from. The person sponsoring the trip for them, 'good will'. The five of them band together, the rest of the Vaqueros utterly ignorant.

Simon will save his family, Alejandro will get them home, and johnny? He's going to make the best home video.

Yeah so thats the whole plot, originally it was just going to be ghoap but somehow the Vaqueros fell into place. It kind of made more sense to have Valeria give them the idea? She doesnt have a whole bunch of canon lore so I figured she'd have an in with the cartel via her father, who was awful. And when Valeria killed him the nameless helped her cover it up and she got her own little spot.

Alejandro broke off their relationship after that, it's why they're on bad terms. He formed the Vaqueros as a funny joke that he started to take seriously when kids around Las Almas genuinely needed help that wasnt someway connected to the cartel, adults had that with rudys mother, so Ale and his childhood friend Rudy decided to help people their age in a way that doesn't rely on adults too much.

Everyone here is about 16-18. Soap is 17, ghost is as well but a few months older. Rudy Alejandro and Valeria are 18. And the youngest cowboy is 16.

Im trying to fit Gaz and Alex in? Im thinking that they both live in Texas, Gazs parents had a falling out since mum was from Texas hes there. Their school is on the same trip in the same bus a sort of cross trip to help the shitty american public school get a better name, as well as the cartels big PR move with having a class from one of Las Almas' schools.

Johnny is a bit weird here, but his motivation is he's suffering from extreme middle kid issues. Loves his family but since he's almost invisible is able to just kinda run off as long as hes back home eventually. He has a camera he uses to film any of his mishaps with, its essentially just jackass. As well as a video diary. Dont be fooled, its also an excuse for me to write some of it in script like format.

Simon is almost exactly the same as he is in the 09 comics, obviously a bit different. But childhood is the same.

I wanted farah to be here so bad but her childhood is literally a warzone and theres no way I can get her and her brother in Scotland. Because im trying so hard to make this somewhat believable, like yes its is a summer mystery horror au. But god I just really need things to make a little sense otherwise I cant do it. Same with Price Nik and Laswell. Like I could group Laswell in with Alex and gaz, and maybe I could pair her with Valeria for funsies. However Nikolai is in russia so... oopsie, and price? Like... how do you turn price into a teenager, he'd be what 19 or 20? Theres no reason he'd be in school, I dont think he'd be held back.

Also you may wonder, why is graves not here? Uh.... because I dont care, he wouldn't have a place here. The antagonist is Simons father, and honestly man? I just dont care that much for his character.

Man theres... theres so much I have here dude, I want to throw roach in there, and I THINK I could squeeze him in as one of ghosts school mates but the point is the first act has Simon completely isolated.

Okay so the first thing I thought of when kylie(red) pulled out all the spray paint and start doing her thing, was Mal. Like Disney bae it's giving Mal dupe.

Second and this one got me cracking was The Merlin Academy. Like My brain totally disregarded it as in I FORGOT ABOUT IT, so imagine to my horror when red is spray painting I see them BLAM! Plastered on the wall in all their Evil Glory.

Okay so I found this picture on Instagram where someone got a close up and other than Ulyanna, Maleficent, Hades and Hook, I don't know who the others are ( sorry not sorry) Now underneath the picture we can see on a plaque the words "vk students" now this made me realize why the title vk was so accepting when the core four came to aruadon, Because it wasnt the first time the title had been given/used.

Now look at this close up of teen Maleficent all I have to say is Wtf is that.

If those things at the side of her head are supposed to be horns, respectfully she needs to chop them tf off?? And is she wearing a ponytail??? Now I haven't seen Maleficent in a long time but isn't she supposed to have brown hair? Now idc if they give her a different hair color but the outfit and those HORNS especially are not giving!!!.

Like I saw someone do a redesign of this descendantofthesparrow I think and it was jaw dropping absolutely gorgeous, like mam what's your major? Anyways yeah I've seen this person done a ton of redesign and rewrites that when I watch descendants I'm like "oh yeah, this is Canon and the good stuff is fanfic"

Now this whole time travel thing doesn't make sense to Me because am I really supposed to believe that Hades who's older Than all of them by thousands of years went to school with them? Like what.

I'm going to assume Ulyanna is the Leader of the gang because she's in the middle and everyone else is in the back and from what we've seen the Leader is always in the middle.

Now I have a feeling rise of red will be pushing to make Hades and Maleficent a thing so we can see how Mal became a thing, just an assumption. Respectfully If they try to make hook and ulyanna a thing I will jump tf off. There was something else I wanted to say about Hades and Maleficent but I forgot and will most likely reblog this post when I remember.

now this is the Queen of Hearts and once again Descendants isn't following Canon because I'm pretty sure Carlos mentioned at one point that he used to drive his mom to the queen of hearts castle.

Now if I didn't know already that this is the queen of hearts and u shoved this pic in my fave and was like "girly who do you think this is?" I WOULD NOT SAY THE QUEEN OF HEARTS, I MEAN JUST LOOK AT HER SHE'S RED! Where are the other colors??? There's no white, no black just RED. Now as a theatre kid we've done better, with less money!!!. Disney I hope you are ashamed because you should be.

Now descendants brandy Cinderella has blue hair which doesn't make any damn sense so I'm guessing that's why Chole has blur hair. I really wish there outfits were better because with the og 4 we could tell what their main colors were without it being to much but now It's Def too much. I've got a few more things to add because I feel like I haven't said everything I wanted to so maybe I'll reblog with more later. Who knows

Fregions bones ached, his muscles sore. It had come for him slowly, so slowly he hadnt even noticed it. He was already long in the tooth by a large mark compared to most charr. He thought, maybe that meant he'd just keep on going like this forever. But one morning in a borrowed bed visiting Kas and jory, he felt it. This ache, this weakness. He was so tired… Kas had been the first to find him. He'd tried to get out of bed but he just couldnt muster the strength.

The heavy thump of his body hitting the floor must have drawn her attention up there. She had gasped, and he had laughed, weak and raspy, as she tried to help him up without looking at his naked form. Even now as he drew closer to the end…he was still embarrassing her. He was glad that never changed…she was fun to tease. She had asked if he was ill, running a fever. But no, he had shook his head and smiled sadly at her.

"Im dying…" He had said in a low voice. "I think my times up." She had panicked. Clones jumping every which way as they ran to likely contact a doctor, send letters to their friends and who knows what else. He remembered her shaky hands on his forehead as she scolded him for joking like that. But she knew he was telling the truth…

As the days drew on and his strength failed him. He cursed the world. What an ignoble end for the legendary Charr Commander. Hero of Tyria. To die peacfuly in bed. Not on the field of battle, not with a sword in his hand. But in bed, with his friends worrying over him.

Braham and Rox were surprisingly the first to come see him on his death bed. They walked in, hand in hand and he had to stop himself from laughing himself in to a coughing fit. Leave it to the young to wait till your dying to figure themselves out. Rox spoke about Olmican spirituality, about not needing to be afraid. He corrected her of course. It wasnt fear he felt after all, just disappointment it wasn't fighting. Braham joked that he could grab his mace, and send him to the mists, but before he could take the norn up on the offer Rox punched him in the shoulder with a disapproving look. He thanked them, for their visit, and wished them well in their new life. Peace lets one think on these sorts of things he supposed.

The next to visit him was Anise and Livia of all people.

"Even if we forced your hand…you were still a blade member. And an invaluable ally to Kryta, Commander." Anise said.

"Could always reanimate you if you want. Maybe let you touch the scepter of orr so you can keep on going?" She had a sad look on her face. "This is the second time I've watched you go, big guy. Wonder what you'll come back as next time?" She chuckled. "Maybe one of those bears in the north?"

Anise chuckled behind her hand. "Or a Tengu? You were always oddly beautiful for a charr." Fregion smiled. He was glad they could joke with him like that.

Crecia, Logan and Rytlock came next.

"Commander…" Logan spoke first. "It has been, an honor working with you. I also took your advice with Rytlock, and Crecias." He wrapped his hand around the charrs waist and pulled him in close. Rytlock blushed but did not fight, simply nuzzled the human affectionately.

"Its a shame we aren't out fighting something Commander…no charr wants to go so sweetly." He nodded. "Though I suppose, after killing Gods, Dragons, Demons and a slew of other horrors, I think that more then makes up for it."

Crecia stepped forward, hesitant. "I know we… and the legions…have had a rocky relationship. But I speak for all charr, thank you commander. Without you, the charr may just be icy thralls under Jormag, or worse. There may not have been any charr left at all." She placed a blood legion flag, folded neatly, on his bed. "For the legions…soldier." She and Rytlock both saluted.

Zojja came down from her large tower with a letter in hand from the Astral ward as well. Though she wasnt alone he was sure. He felt the familiar whispers and carssing of Peitha in his mind.

"Wayfi- I mean…Commander." After a moment looking forlornly at the ground she whispered. "…Fregion." She placed the letter on the bed side stand. "Considering what uh, what we know about me…and our previous history. I thought I should come see you off. I- I didnt think I'd feel this awful though." She sniffled and sent a watery smile his way. "I'm going to live a long time, ya know. The Astral ward wanted to ascend you but, given how volitile and poorly your relationship with them was, i figured id tell them no in your stead." He couldnt help but laugh at that, though it took him some time to stop coughing after.

"Mortal…you have been most amusing, I could bring you in to my fold. It would be a shame to lose someone like you…" She knew the answer, and her voice, normally low and composed, had a hint of desperation to it. "But I know the answer. Maybe we'll stumble in to each other in the mists. May your journey be gentle and easy." Zojja choked out a sob. He reached a trembling claw to her face, wiping a way the tears. He smiled. He was glad his friend was on the road to being better now too. She gripped his hand tightly, soft whimpers and sobs escaping her as she clung to him. He pretended to not hear the whispers of 'dont go' and 'please dont leave me alone again…'

On his final day…he knew it was time. He told Marjory and Kasmeer as much. They sat with him through out the day. Helped him out to the plaza of Kormir. The moon was high and the stars were shining. As if the universe itself was winking sadly at him. Or maybe his eyesight was starting to get blurry. He had asked them, told them and no one else of his secret devotion to Kormir, about his past connection to her. Kas had been extatic the first time he had told them, so many years ago. So in secret, with only the priests of Kormir to read him his last rights. They sat beside him as he lay, Caladbolg in hand, on a small cot prepared for him.

"Commander…?" Kasmeers soft voice broke the silence. Marjory gave her a quick comforting squeeze. "Fregion…" She corrects sadly. "Im only now realizing myself how little we…we used your name. And it- it hurts knowing the whys, and that only now does your name come easy."

Marjory presses her forehead against the side of Kasmeers head before turning to him and saying. "You lived a long, hard life commander. What are ya, 100 years old? You got to be a miser of a charr." she laughed. "Its a shame none of your cubs are here to see you off…charr cultures been changing, its a shame you…you wont get to see it." Fregion smiles up at the stars. He understands.

He only breaths deeply in response. His eyes are growing heavy. The comfort of Caladbolg on his chest, Tybalts lucky cog at his side. His warbands old pin, a pen that Demmi had given him that hed treasured after her death. He closed his eyes, and for a moment. He felt surrounded. Warmth and love filled him.

"Good to see you again, agent."

"The three of us are back together huh lightbringer?"

"Fregion, you've carried Caladbolg with honor. Im grateful we get to meet again."

"Hey there he is! Took him long enough! Look how OLD he is!" The cheers of roudy charr rung out.

"…Goodbye. I love you all…and hello again." He exhaled for the last time. Carried away by loving hands.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD okay.

so i watched the 8 hour jack stream(jesus) aka watched genloss top to bottom again and listened to his theories and stuff(i really vibe with the "kidnapped as kids" angle more now) and started thinking about some theories he and chat mentioned and.

now im thinking with like. ok its probably a pretty common theory, this post was what prompted this additional idea of mine actually, but ill explain it a bit: the theory that, since sneeg and charlie can come back over and over again, and they have referenced like, refusing to do the cooking challenge in ep 1, and how charlie was playing the mouse trap but ate the cage, they have obviously done the same kind of scenes we saw ranboo do, right. and then in the Announcement video we see the same kind of "missing poster" type headshots of them, with the caption "Found them!"

i dont remember exactly where it was confirmed that showfall made the missing person posters, but like. yeah. these images are for missing posters like ranboo had. and with sneeg being caught by the security in ep 3, he had tried to escape, just like ranboo and charlie. and i feel like this wasnt the first or last time they have tried this!

also, during that screenshot the announcer says "our hero will meet a cast of crazy characters, who you may recognize", aka the audience has seen these "actors" before in other things! this is their first live show but what have they made before...?

then, with one of the Very first lines Ranboo says in the first episode, "it wasn't supposed to be like this"... showfall/hetch made it seem like this is ranboos first show and he's being tested for how well he does as The Hero.

I dont think what we saw is Ranboos first time starring in a showfall production.

its the first live thing like the announcement video said but i think hetch lied when he talked about how its a test, i think Ranboo's been here at least a few go arounds, if not tens/hundreds/thousands of times. WHICH MEANS in the end when he gets his memories back... theres an infinite amount of possibility of things they could remember for what they have been made to do in the past :) Bc remember, while this is comedy->horror, it was still relatively tame and non-explicit (at least by my personal standards?) so it is quite possible they have been in more R rated horror stuff, slashers, gore, actual saw, some kind of even worse psychological horror things, but also that they might have had incredibly good experiences like love and joy and community and anything positive too, and to remember all that in a rush... oh boy so i believe it is a circular reproduction, maybe they run through scenes repeatedly over and over while perfecting every little detail and getting different takes of genuine emotion but every time Real and a First experience... some kind of purgatory(omg christian hell reference) or endless torture or such...

ok that got really maybe unneccessarily angsty so heres my other thought:

i love me a fucking colour theory and colour symbolism! it bothered me a bit how like. in the promo game we get ranboo, then green friend/the villain(obviously charlie, tho the villain part still confuses me a Bit since its not quite true?), the blue friend/the taken(obvs sneeg) and then the red stranger/the saviour. and like it would logically follow that the red is hetch right?

jack when theorising said the titles are self descriptive, which i buy into, at least for the first episode context, charlie is the villain role, sneeg was taken(put in a cage and later snatched by the sharkciclester), and hetch was trying to help and save ranboo from this situation! but then in the second ep we also have red puzzler, and red niki? i WISH niki had. any kind of bigger role to build a Saviour type off of her but i dont think she does :( the puzzler is an option, since they make it seem like the puzzler tries to save ranboo? and thats actually a whole other thought like. since we know hetch was not actually helping ranboo, was the puzzler Genuinely helping them, and somehow showfall found out and killed him?? idk ANYWAYS that colour coding falling apart a bit made me think about how ranboo is also red!! rgb trio yknow??

if the titles are self descriptive... well i dont think Ranboo really felt like The Hero much, especcially not in the end...

I think Ranboo is actually meant to be the Saviour.

Esp with the jesus coding! I believe this kind of thing has happened many times before, with sneeg/charlie/ranboo/others realizing that shits fucked, and trying to escape, only to be caught and put back in the production. I think Ranboo(main character syndrome) was in a previous iteration the Saviour, who tried to help sneeg and charlie and others get out of there, to save them, save everyone. but they failed. got captured. once again waking up again with a "it wasn't supposed to be like this..."

and so the cycle continues, and the content wheel keeps spinning.

NO UR FINE HEHEHDHSHD i figured id get an ask abt it at some point cus most people dont talk abt iroh in such deranged ways.... but . idk i really just sort of take literal facts abt iroh and stretch them so they become hcs??? and i also take little worldbuilding hcs ive seen other people have and adopt them because it adds spice.

this is gonna get long and crazy cus its just me musing about shitty iroh qualities ive noticed and trying to clown a bit in his pov so im gonna put it all under a cut. read it only if you dare thoughf

first of all. iroh is like a hypocrite among all hypocrites. its funny as it is pathetic. sometimes he knows it and tries to adjust his thinking because after all he DOES actively try to change himself for the better. sometimes he knows it and just doesnt care. maybe feels guilty for not caring, maybe he sometimes doesnt feel guilty. and sometimes he doesnt notice it at all because well. 6 years of changing yourself means what exactly to 30 something years of being one of the biggest baddest fn ghouls???? theres still a lot of unlearning to do, and he thinks he can be all hoity toity grand lotus. like boy bye. i think that if he knew he would work to submit to humility and i say that genuinely but sometimes old fire nation crown prince habits die hard. he wears silk robes under his armor baby. he was the spoiled rotten eldest son!!! theres a way you can balance iroh actively practicing humility but also him being patronizing and holier-than-thou.

iroh spent years and decades believing in the fire nations old cause. i bet yall anything the siege wasnt his only crime, just the biggest and most notorious. and on top of that hed believed that taking down ba sing se was his destiny from a vision that had been sent by the spirits. as if spirits gaf abt war shit humans do like boy youre just delusional and have always been delusional. but im sure that everyone took it seriously cus im p sure fn folk take spirit stuff seriously considering the fire lord is supposed to be like... a god human and his word is divine law or whatever idfk.

lu tens death was world shattering to iroh beyond belief if it managed to break that. iroh is a spiritual guy and takes spirits dead seriously, and if he believed him taking ba sing se was decreed by agni- well. look at how hard it was for zuko to give up those beliefs, and he was only sixteen and his track list is prob mickey mouse size compared to irohs. thats why lu ten being just a mentioned ghost character kinda bothers me cus i think if we knew more abt him itd put just how earth shattering his death was into more perspective. if he meant that much to iroh that it stopped iroh from caring when fn folks care so much about their cause, awful as it is, then he mustve been something special.

as for how iroh is with women i couldnt give you a good answer on that. the fn doesnt really seem to have roles like the nwt so i dont think its a common fn man thing to objectify women. which means thats just an iroh specific thing. which is insane??? but i watch one piece which has sanji in it so ive seen far worse but still. this isnt the objectify women olympics. i think as far as i can remember the only time iroh had been annoying and needed to be curb stomped about it was with june and then every other time it was reciprocated flirting with women his age but i digress. itd be pretty funny if lu tens birth in general almost became a scandal because iroh didnt know who the hell the mother was. This isnt one of his 500 mental illnesses though its just an annoying iroh quality ive noticed. Lets cut his dick off

NOW BACK TO MY FIRST POINT specifically ab him being a hypocrite and knowing it and feeling guilty but also sometimes not feeling guilty. i was talking abt him and azula. I have no idea if iroh knows how similar he and his niece are. frankly i believe itd be funny if he didnt because hes deluded as hell. i know people say oh iroh doesnt like azula bc she reminds him of himself WELL I THINK IROH DOESNT LIKE AZULA BECAUSE SHE REMINDS HIM OF OZAI. as if iroh would compare her to himself!! hes not that gd self aware. which comparing her to ozai is very unfair to azula and stupid i know. and humans do and think things that are very unfair and stupid and hurt the people around them. and its sad and it sucks but thats just how it is. him being the age that he is beefing with a teenager is a bad look and these bad looks are what make iroh whole and human and a shitty uncle. i dont hate him for it but i also think azula can rip his face off like a rabid chimpanzee for it if she felt that way

i think its like, he knows that azula is only 14 and is only doing what ozai teaches her and will just get the short end of the stick at the end of the day because thats just how ozai is, and thats when he feels guilty. but then shes manipulating and pulling zukos emotional strings like hes a puppet and shes rushing in with a smirk thats identical to ozais and shes rushing at zuko and thats when he stops feeling guilty and stops caring about her age and only cares about what she can do and what she will do and attacks her the same way hed attack anyone else. crushing her hand in his own and then kicking her in the face off war ships.

and then i think that guilt about her age and seeing it as just something that war does to even children eventually wears off entirely and all he can see when he looks at her is his own brother, and that means he needs to keep her far away from zuko no matter what. so yeah i think he really meant it when he said he thinks azula is crazy and that she needs to go down and no i dont think hed have too much of an issue with being the one to do that if it meant zukos safety. how does iroh feel like shit over lu ten dying but not over the idea of possibly killing his niece? couldnt tell you. i know a lot of people think its misogyny on irohs part and i mean. maybe?????? but i honestly dont think so. i think blaming it on misogyny actually makes their beef less intriguing, if anything. i think he just hates azula for azula.

and i dont even think comparing azula to ozai is something he only does with azula. i bet there are times where zuko shows his soft side and instead of being filled with love and admiration for his nephew who is compassionate despite it all, the first thing that comes to his head is look at that, look at how hes not entirely like ozai, theres still hope for an honorable and idealistic leader for our nation in the future. like i said before, old habits die hard. sometimes iroh Has to think like a general with his family for the wellbeing of literally everyone else on the planet but in moments like that, its just unfair to zuko as his nephew. thats something i dont think he even realizes is bad of him as an uncle- that hes made himself one of many people that only ever compare zuko to the shadows of his family members that loom over them.

which then moves us to the question of, do i think iroh projects his feelings about lu ten onto zuko. my answer? sort of yes?? but sort of no?? sort of no because zuko makes that impossible. even if i personally hc that there was a lot of lu ten that iroh didnt know, the lu ten that iroh knew couldnt be anymore different than zuko. so iroh cant use the same parenting techniques on zuko, he cant have the same quiet and casual moments with zuko, theres no teasing and banter and rough housing with zuko. lu ten had been self assured in the way a boy can be when he has a father that doesnt instill fear into him.

However comma. i think that paternal love and adoration is the same as the kind he had for lu ten. that protectiveness is the same. theres the amused affection at how similar lu ten and zukos stubborness is, how expressive their irritation is- the way they both flail their hands around and in the air whenever they get frustrated. their undying dedication, the honor and belief in justice. it took iroh forever to see the similarities, only until he got to know zuko a little better aboard the ship. its the same feelings and most of the time that new love makes iroh feel new.

but i also think that sometimes its agony. sometimes that desperation and mourning of lu ten, wishing there was something, anything, iroh could do or give to bring him back, manifests in the form of if zukos wellbeing isnt at a certain standard at all times im going to lose my mind. its one thing for zuko, who is young and hurting, to be codependent on iroh. its another for iroh to be codependent on zuko. he hopes zuko never stops thinking iroh is just a worrywart, that iroh is just kind of overbearing in the way annoying grown ups are, because if he ever stopped and saw the truth, the terrified desperation that iroh has to make sure zuko gets out of this year alive??? i dont even know what iroh would do if zuko died during the show if im being honest. thats something thats beyond my comprehension lol.

i think for a while irohs dedication is this gross mix of codependency onto zuko and zukos overall wellbeing, but also this weird convoluted mess of guilt over lu ten that he doesnt want to relive with his nephew so this is like.... something he thinks he owes zuko. which hurts and sucks but i think those two things can and do co exist. i dont think irohs love for zuko becomes entirely uneffected by lu ten and the loss of lu ten until like. literally book 3.

and im serious about that too i think the "owing zuko something" bit had been stronger in book 1 when iroh had been more apathetic but then in book 2 when iroh was literally Living in lu tens grave site and im pretty sure even losing sight of zuko in ba sing se would be enough to freak iroh out. irohs a general and a genius in strategy, but the instincts of a parent- a stressed one, because you cant tell me that just because iroh is endeared by the people of ba sing se that thats enough to qwell his fears- squashes all of that into dust. hes living in the grave site of his son. him and zuko could be recognized. his contacts warned him of the dai li and long feng. he only truly relaxes until zuko comes back through the door. he only truly sleeps well when he can feel his nephews bright and alive chi near him.

and i think that when he mourns lu ten and is scared for zukos life in the earth kingdom he hates himself more than hes ever hated himself ever since losing lu ten in the first place. the personal killer of so many earth kingdom sons, so many earth kingdom fathers lives that he personally ruined, and here he is, alive.

But then thats when rationality and humility leaves him and that royal selfishness shows itself- he knows hes the one at fault- the murderer of earth kingdom sons of all ages, daughters of all ages, elderly, mothers and fathers, babies and toddlers, homeless that dont have the means to scurry to the inner walls and hide in homes, family pets and family livestock, ash and blood in the water that they need to drink and cook the food they had left with, running out of supplies, running out of the medicine pregnant mothers need to ease their pain during labor, medicine needed to perform amputations from violent and infected burns, sickness thats bound to show while under siege and cut off from the rest of the world, entire bloodlines ended, brains and blood and body parts covered in ash and littering the streets that he now walks as a fugitive.

its all his fault and yet hes still so angry at himself and the world and his god damned family, he wants his god damned son back. he tries to be a good example for his nephew who has so much to learn still, the world depends on his nephew learning the things this uncle is trying to teach him-but hidden poorly under the mask of a wise and worldly old man, he wants to have his cake and eat it too. he tries so hard to change and be humble and think beyond his own interests the way a grand lotus ought to, but when the gap in his chest left behind by his son that he murdered, that wouldn't be dead if it werent for his sorry excuse of a father, starts to ache so tangibly he almost wants to keel over and vomit.

SO . yeah i think that theres a way to balance irohs many lovely facets. his calm and collected mentor side that is observant and patient with the angriest teenage boy on earth, his ridiculous side that does stupid annoying shit to spite and tease his nephew, his protective and nuturing side that adores his nephew and wants him to be happy, his snobby pretentious ex crown prince side that thinks achieving peak open mindedness is joining a secret society with dudes like pakku, his angry and hateful side that did so many cruel things yet learned what fire can really mean from the masters but is still selfish and also wants seconds out of his self made grief despite taking the first plates from others and cant even bring himself to care, his manipulative side that earned him a reputation in the snake nest that is definitely the fire nation nobility and court, his hypocritical side that hates azula for the same reasons he hates his brother and hates himself but somehow cant fathom correlating himself with his niece.

Hes the worst hes the best hes my favorite hes my worst enemy. when do you ever get a character as ill as iroh at irohs age??? its always the mentally ill 20 something anime dude. never the shitty old man. im so insane

I would like to preface this by saying i am a casual watcher of helluva boss, ive watched all the episodes and im more into what the show could be rather than what it currently is (i have… many a issue with the choices made but im not gonna get into that rn HDJFYID). And of all the episodes that made me wish it reached its full potential it was the cherubs episode which was, not a great episode lets be honest (it had some good moments dont get me wrong! And if you really liked it then good for you! It just wasnt my cup of tea sorry fjjf) so heres my rewrite of it! I Frankensteined parts from the original i thought worked and everything else is completely different hdjufidbd, hope yall like it!

The episode would start out the same with blitz watching the tv and shooting it, loona begrudgingly and annoyingly reminds them they have a fuck ton of clients to get to today and that they should head out. IMP enters the human world disguised and begins to take out their first target (hiding in the bushes), moxxie takes aim and shoots but the bullet is stopped last second. Confused as hell moxxie assumes he missed and shoots again and again only for the same thing to keep happening to which they hide deeper into the bush so that blitz can demand an explanation for moxxies “incompetence”. Moxxie tries to explain but all three of them are violently ripped from the bush by an invisible force, millie starts swinging her knife but the force grabs her wrist and reveals itself to be a guardian angel sent by C.H.E.R.U.B. They get over powered by the angel and skiddadle, to ease the tension and focus the group blitz says theyll just get back to that target later and should focus on the other ones, only to find out that all their other targets also have guardian angels. Onto their last possible target they are aggravated and worn out, to test if they have an angel they throw a rock that actually hits them on the head and quickly rejoice, only to be once again stopped before they could kill the target as keenie, cletus and collin appear, with a new guardian angel ready to be assigned. IMP crew starts insulting them and demanding them to fuck off from their targets or else but keenie and cletus doesn’t take them seriously and simply wave them off (collin stays largely quiet and cowering throught the entire time), summoning two dove body guards to dispose of them. They get their asses kicked and retreat to the office where blitz and loona are getting a lot of angry demands as to why their targets arent dead yet while moxxie starts freaking out over the future of the company. Millie says they might be able to get back at them and holds out a check list that collin had sticking out of his pocket that she snatched, containing all the names of the humans yet to have a guardian angel with one name remaining, which just so happens to be their newest clients target. They rush off to kill the target before the cherubs can get to them, only to end up getting there at the same time as the cherubs, luckily for them though the bodygaurds are not there and the new guardian angel is running late. The IMP crew gets their attention and starts airing their grievances and hatred for them which elicits a petty set of responses from keenie and cletus, which kicks off the same fight and accidental killing of the human they were supposed to assign the guardian angel to. Unfortunately for the cherub crew the guardian angel did show up but only last second to see them kill the human, in horror they portaled back to heaven to tell on them, which leads to them getting kicked out. As theyre being banned the deer lady says all the guardian angels will be recalled back to heaven and that their business will be put on hold and transferred to a more “competent” power. The cherub crew is left devastated but the imp crew rejoices and quickly gets to killing the clients they couldnt kill earlier, as they kill one of the clients millie says shes happy theyll never have to see those three again and the other two agree. Of course this cuts to a small sheep angel secretary entering a high cherubs office, named abbadon (the lion guy), telling him that he has been given control of the agency as well as to be wary that three imps are running around on earth to kill humans. Upon hearing this he instates that all the recalled guardian angels be trained not just in defensive combat but in offensive combat, but that only he will personally deal with the “infestation”, he takes a heavy inhale of his holy cigar and smoke covers all but his glowing eyes, cut to credits.

Anyways thats my rewrite of it, a big problem i found with the episode is that it lacked compelling stakes, and while nothing is wrong with having a silly filler episode much of the season was about setting up for characters to come back and screw with the imp crew which made it hard for me to view the cherubs as a viable threat to IMP. Regardless im happy with this rewrite and im chill with criticism for both the story and the designs!! Now onto some bonus notes (pretty much just some bonus facts that could come into “later episodes” that aren’t relevant to the plot in this rewritten ep lol):

- Abaddons whole arc starts with him personally trying to kill IMP for their hellish ways, but he underestimates them and finds he gets defeated set back in his progress of taking them out*, the longer he goes on trying to kill them the more tunnel visioned he gets, he’s a high ranking angel! He cant be beat over and over by some disgusting lowly imps (uh oh ego), eventually he gets so enraged and tunnel visioned he abandons all regard for his and everyone else’s safety, leading to the accidental death of a human. When he realizes what he’s done its already too late, he’s been kicked from heaven, and this only enrages him further, blaming everything on the imps and taking none of the blame. He’d then go on to hunt them down and repent constantly, as if killing the imps and praying will let him back in, eventually he’d (reluctantly) team up with striker and he hates that he’s turned to a lowly imp to take out other imps (also it’d be really funny if they had an enemies to “lovers” thing lmao)

*IMP just barely beats him btw, they lost more easily to the guardian angels cause they were caught off guard and didn’t have any time to prep, in their fight with abbadon they’re more angel ready and abbadons underestimation of them gives them the upper hand. From there the more they fight abbadon, the easier it is to fight him which pisses abbadon off to no end

- When abaddon switches his head he transforms into what it is (human head for a human disguise, the animal heads can either be anthro or feral depending on the circumstance as needed), the inactive head then becomes a beautiful but nearly indestructible porcelain head

- collin is only an intern/guardian angel in training, hence the name tag. Hes pretty much a young teen trying to get his first job only to get blamed for the incompetence of his employers. Whyd i make him a teen? Cause i think it fits but also because it’d be funny seeing millie and moxxie parent him the entire time. Also he’s an orphan, his parents were exterminators and were killed in a skirmish between two demons when he was very young, poor boy cant catch a break (lore for a future “episode” i guess lmao)

- cleetus and keenie are more like hoity toity business managers who put on a gentle persona when in reality they’re more like the kind of managers to say “you’re getting a raise! *gives you a dollar and a stick of gum*”. If it wasn’t obvious enough i redesigned the hell out of them, cletus is supposed to be a literal man child, the type of guy with a high ego but throws a hissy fit when things dont go his way while keenie is a kind of pretentious lady who uses the word dear in a condescending way 99% of the time (that doesnt make sense but oh well lol)

Thats all i have for now, I actually have an idea for a millie centered episode too! As for this “episode” maybe one day ill make an animatic of it or write something idk lol let me know what yall want

i know that anyone who can read already knows about the parallels between stsg and Megumi+Yuuji but i'm gonna gush anyways

Yuuji and Megumi's thematic and narrative roles where narrative is the metatextual story of jjk being the same as Gojo and Geto where Yuuji=Gojo and Megumi=Geto

but their narrative roles where the narrative is in universe fate and the concept of things happening for a reason and mattering as relates to Yuuji's and to a certain extent Geto's world views are reversed. Yuuji=Geto and Megumi=Gojo

and then my sleep deprived brain just started listing things in no particular order so imma put that mess under the cut

-yuuji + geto eat curses (if i wasnt lazy and sleep deprived i would put in geto's various monologues about his thought process when eating curses here)

-megumi + gojo's curse techniques are directly compared in universe (the two strongest- meaning that gojo talking about the limitless/six eyes + ten shadows fighting each other to stalemate in the past was foreshadowing the gojo sukuna fight now that i think about it )

-yuuji and gojo personalities and coping mechanisms paralleled-- their bubbly happy personas are a mask for their more selfish/angry true personalities but most importantly for their loneliness (the most important part of both character's themes in different ways but that's a whole other rant)

-megumi and geto similar personalities + relationships to y+g= grounding/semi rivals/antagonistic but caring friends

-everyone(in universe) thinks that gojo and yuuji are ticking time bombs that will inevitably cause untold horrors but it turns out that they.. just dont in not insignificant part due to words dissuading them from that ledge said by their other halves (megumi tells yuuju to "save [him]" + geto changing gojo's entire outlook on the world in their conversation when reuniting after toji's defeat)

-everyone(in universe) thinks that megumi and geto are relatively sane but their sanity is more fragile than it seems (geto is self explanatory but for megumi see the fight where he first uses chimera shadow garden and how quickly he gives up completely after his sister gets got) and both end up possessed by one of the series main two villains

-but also yuuji + geto's originally stated motivations for becoming jujutsu sorcerers are supposed to mirror each other-- yaga's whole speech to yuuji when they first meet is everything he wishes he could have said to geto before he went crazy

-their connection to the two main villains of the series (sukuna + 'fake geto')

--geto and yuuji are heavily connected to 'fake geto' for both obvious and spoiler reasons

--megumi and gojo are connected a lot to sukuna - gojo is compared to sukuna a Lot and sukuna shows interest in megumi multiple times + more spoiler stuff (((sorry anime onlys)))

You don’t know what prompted your brain to come up with such an awful dream. Maybe it was the horror movie you and your best friends decided to put on for this week’s Saturday movie night, or the three year old expired fortune cookie that Atsumu double-dog-dared you to eat (you couldn’t say no to that of course, even with the lacklustre protests from Osamu, aka the sanest of you three, for you to not do it) — either way, you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, eyes wide open before your eyebrows furrow together in a relieving realisation.

The first thing you do is slide your hands down and up your face to somewhat wake yourself up. (You come to another realisation as you feel the water that stains your cheeks.) The second is aimlessly search for something on the nightstand beside your bed until your fingers latch onto a familiar rectangular object.

The light from your phone causes you to squint momentarily before you lower the brightness and start typing something.

[2:56AM]

YOU: hey u

YOU: osamu

YOU: samu

YOU: you

YOU: hello

YOU: are u awake

OSAMU: yeah

OSAMU: are you?

YOU: ur so funny

YOU: i just woke up from a rlly bad dream

OSAMU: lol

OSAMU: I told u not to eat that expired cookie

With a frown, you thumbs-down his message. If there’s anything you absolutely hate, it’s being proven wrong. Plus, you’d like to think that you did a morally brave thing by eating that fortune cookie. Maybe not the smartest course of action you’ve ever taken but a courageous one nonetheless.

YOU: shut 🆙 it wasnt the cookie

YOU: it was obviously because of the horror movie we watched

YOU: and that was mostly YOUR idea

OSAMU: I think you’re in denial

YOU: i think ur WRONG

OSAMU: ok

OSAMU: leave your window unlocked I’m coming over

You start to smile fondly with a blazing feeling in your cheeks before snapping out of it, blinking a couple times at your bizarre-ish behaviour. You’re not sure what’s gotten into you lately or why exactly, but you’ve found that you have become more susceptible as of recent to a strange, uncomfortable warmth that first accumulates in your face and then rushes down to your chest, sending your heartbeat racing. And, you’ve noticed, it only happens whenever you’re around Osamu.

It’s gotten to the point where you’ve told Atsumu about it once, and all he did was call you the biggest idiot he’s ever known, second to Osamu of course (his words, not yours), before Osamu himself materialised out of thin air and defended both yours and his honour by slapping the back of his twin’s neck.

After he left, Atsumu clarified himself and said you were in love.

“With who?” you asked. Maybe the fake-blond was justified in calling you an idiot, but that’s besides the point.

“With ‘Samu!” Atsumu threw up his arms in exasperation. The two of you were currently basking under the sun in his backyard while Osamu had gone inside, so you weren’t concerned about his loud mouth exposing you around anyone else. “Who else are we talkin’ about other than that dumbass?”

“I dunno. You’re kind of all over the place.”

He snorted and then proceeded to shove you over with a hideous sneer on his face. “And you’re delusional. Can’t believe you’re into someone as ugly as my brother.”

You wrinkle your nose at the memory. Obviously, you weren’t gonna listen to some idiot like Atsumu at the time, but looking back now, you suppose he may be right as much as you hate to admit it.

Minutes later, you hear a muffled grunt outside, followed by the familiar rustle of someone climbing up the big elm tree right by your window and another grunt that makes you assume they’ve finally made it to the top. With a dramatic eye-roll, you flop over onto your side, reach over your bedside table, and flip the latch, and seconds after, Osamu makes his grand entrance into your room by sliding your window open and seamlessly jumping right through.

After shutting the window, he stands in the middle of your room, unsure of what to do now.

“Hello,” you greet him. You can’t help but observe his outfit of the night through narrowed eyes: a graphic t-shirt you’re sure you’ve seen him wear at least a million times, plain pyjama pants, and Ty Beanie Boo Pink Puppy Dog PRECIOUS Plush-Lined Slippers. Meanwhile, Osamu’s eyebrows pinch together, noticing that your voice sounds particularly nasally.

“Are you cryi—“ His question is interrupted when you promptly chuck a pillow at him, which he, thanks to his athletic reflexes, manages to dodge. For a second, he blinks and stares at the pillow, now laying pathetically on your rug behind him, and then stiffly turns back to you.

You sniffle with one exaggerated inhale that makes it extremely obvious your nose is clogged and plaster on a crooked smile for the effect of what you think is reassurance that you’re okay. “It’s just allergies,” you tell him.

He side-eyes you, clearly unconvinced, but regardless, he decides not to comment on your obviously tear-stained face or even say anything at all to the matter. Instead, there’s a Brobdingnagian thud! as he drops his bag onto the floor, which you frown at, before he shrugs off his jacket, slips his shoes off, and makes himself comfortable at the end of your bed, sitting with his legs sprawled out across it horizontally. You show no visible effort to make room for him, opting to instead swing your feet onto his lap and sink further into your pillows.

He leans his back against the wall, eyes scanning your face for a couple of moments as if he’s trying to read your mind until he finally speaks up.

“So,” he starts, his voice sizzling out near the end before he continues much more clearly, cutting straight to the point, “how’re you feelin’?”

For some odd reason — maybe it’s the gentle lilt of his voice as he asks you this question or how weirdly attractive he looks in the shitty lighting of your bedside lamp — you feel the urge to cry again. It starts as a lump lodged somewhere in your throat and then, much to your horror, morphs into tears pooling in your vision, threatening to spill out like a giant pimple on the verge of popping. With a grimace and yet another obnoxious inhale, you blink away the tears in a vehement manner as if your life depends on it, while Osamu fiddles with a loose thread on your sock, patiently awaiting your response.

“Like shit,” you answer after you’ve successfully pulled yourself together.

“You wanna talk about it?”

“No.”

“Oh,” he says lamely, though it’s reasonable given you’re not giving him much to work with here. Then he shifts in his seat, twisting his entire body to reach into his bag on the ground and toss whatever he retrieved at you. You catch it with relative ease and open your hands to find that it’s a plastic-wrapped rice ball, at which you gasp in surprise.

“I figured you’d say that since you’re so emotionally constipated and all, so I brought some food for ya,” he explains, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he offers a small smile. “Thought it might cheer you up some.”

There may as well be hearts in your eyes right now. You can’t believe he’d go out of his way to do this for you. He’s literally so romantic, you think as delusion colonises the rational side of your brain.

“‘Samu,” you begin dramatically with a hand against your chest in preparation for the speech you’re about to give expressing how grateful you are, “anything good I’ve ever done in my life will never amount to the kindness of your heart. Thank you so much. I am forever in debt to you. I lo—“

Right as you’re getting caught up in the moment, Osamu interrupts with an awkward cough, his ears tinted red in what appears to be embarrassment.

“No need to get all sappy, [Y/N]. I’d do anything for ya anyway,” he says, scratching an itch at the side of his head. “Now, hurry up and eat that. You’re going right back to sleep after this ‘cause” — he lets out a yawn loud enough to wake the entirety of Hyogo — “I gotta help ‘Tsumu mow the lawn tomorrow mornin’.”

Aaand cue the heart eyes again. Of course you’re only focused on the first half, though the mental image of him all disgustingly sweaty with his sleeves rolled up to his shoulders while towing the yard or whatever he just said isn’t too bad either.

For some reason, Osamu takes it upon himself to make sure you’re asleep before he leaves. Probably out of the kindness of his heart again, you figure. He’s got a lot of that when it comes to you.

“Ya good there?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s great. Me personally, I feel like I’m gonna fall.”

“Oh my god.”

You grumble and dig your elbows further into the mattress as you shift over for the millionth time. It’s a bit… cramped, to say the least. Your bed’s only intended for one person to sleep in so trying to include Osamu becomes somewhat of a challenge. Osamu, clueless and also blind in the dark, can only lay there limp as you try to manoeuvre him onto the bed in a way so that he won’t fall out the second he moves so much as a millimetre.

“I don’t think this is working.”

“It is,” you tell him.

“It’s not. Hey, how ‘bout I just—“ This time he’s the one to be doing all the annoying movements and shifting as he turns around and wraps his arms around you. Before you can even protest, he swings a leg over yours, reaches toward the foot of the bed where the blanket currently lays, and brings up to your shoulders in one swift motion so that it covers the both of you.

“There,” he declares. “Problem solved. Now no one’s falling out of the bed.”

“Hurray,” you say dryly. You totally could have thought of this on your own… eventually.

“Thanks. Now sleep.”

“What—“

“Shh. Sleep.”

You roll your eyes and then sneer at him. “What am I, a dog?”

“Something like that, yeah.”

“HUH?”

You feel him chuckle against the top of your head, and a hand comes up to stroke the back of your head, pushing you a little closer to his chest.

“I’m kidding, ya troglodyte.” Then, his voice sounds ten times nearer, his breath tickling the shell of your ear. (There’s that weird fucking feeling again. You’re literally about to explode.) “But really. Please, SLEEP.”

You smile to yourself. He’s such a romantic.

EXTENDED ENDING:

“Man, what the hell. Where were you last night?” Atsumu blocks the doorway to the house and sharply points a finger at his brother as if it’ll automatically arise some answers out of him. To his disappointment, Osamu only responds with a slightly unamused expression, so he repeats the question in an even more domineering tone.

“[Y/N] had a bad dream so I went over for some moral support.”

“All night?” Atsumu asks suspiciously.

Osamu shrugs. “I fell asleep. Now, shove over ya pig.”

The fake blond can only gape at his brother, who pushes past him, before grumbling to himself, “I can’t wait until you two confess your undying love for each other. All this emotional baggage I’ve been keeping on your behalves has been giving me frequent bowel movements.”

Osamu suddenly turns around, eyes wide. Atsumu panics a moment too late, realising he may have just accidentally betrayed your trust and exposed something he shouldn’t have.

“What’d you just say—“

“SHUT UP! I didn’t say nothin’!”

- GRIAN. HE TRIED TO TALK TO YOU TWO CHAPTERS AGO AND YOU IGNORED HIM.

- Also like how when we circle back to this point at the end of the chapter- Mumbo brings it up, Mumbo apologises- Grian lies and goes through the conversation "on autopilot", forcing himself to register absolutely NONE of the emotion so that when he goes through with his plan he can have this degree of separation- (if that's what you call it?). Just like how right here he's ignoring/selectively forgetting the fact that Mumbo did try to talk to him

"some of the wariness clouding around them begins to clear, burning down into an ashen, sickly relief."

- I chose this one because of the "burning" metaphor. It creates this imagery of something akin to a wildfire when Grian's actions were first revealed. Emotions were blazing with fury, grief, confusion, horror and betrayal. It's all still there, but muted. For Mumbo specifically and how he initially reacted when G woke up the metaphor makes it feel like Mumbo completely burnt himself out with how he felt about everything. What's left behind in an ashen log, a carcass ready to collapse into dust at the next breeze.

"A relieved Mumbo is a Mumbo protected against someone he can't save."

- "Someone he can't save", meaning mumbo being unable to save grian, but dually meaning that Grian doesnt believe he can be saved- not by himself, not even by his best friend. He's tried, tried to stop making the games, tried to live off of MCC. It didn't work; he's stopped trying to save himself.

Grian's deeply unreliable narrator-ness makes me SO insane tbh, im so obsessed with how he very deliberately ignores things that dont fit into his personal narrative. Like ur objectively right Mumbo DID try to talk to him!!!!! But in Grian's head, that doesnt support his "i am doing this for everyone's greater good" agenda, so he dismisses it. Same as the gold farm-- Scar actually mentioned it to him all the way back in chapter 5, but when Mumbo asks if he knew, he insinuates that he wasnt told, without actually confirming or denying. Its a fun little tidbit that i enjoyed adding-- i really like highlighting just how unreliable Grian's perspective is rn wrt reality :]

I am SO happy you enjoyed that burning metaphor-- its definitely attached to that wildfire imagery, but its also attached to the concept of cooking for me too!!! The idea of letting something simmer down and thicken, except its burning, was very integral to that snippet ^.^

by the time she looked at the rotting corpse with blood on every tip of her hands and mouth she wouldnt dare to even let it go to waste.

“i suppose we didnt have dinner after all hm dear..?”

she took the arm of her lover and twisted it till she heard a pop.

it wasnt meant to go this way.

she just..

she just knew she couldnt help herself.

as she began tearing the flesh of his skin with her bloody teeth she back herself up against the alleyway wall.

she put her hand against his.

she sighed as she held the hand as if it was his again.

while it didnt feel right cause of his ring and middle finger missing, she felt satisfied.

she held the hand while crawling to the body and sat.

“the dress was lovely though, you didnt even have to buy this for me..”

she chuckled to herself.

“especially without knowing id do this to you sweetheart..”

she smiled softly and held his face into hers.

“i know.. i know youre oh so dead.. but right now the moon is glistening onto you pale skin.. you look so pretty.”

she parted his lips with her finger.

she began tracing her fingers around his face as she looked down at him.

“i wonder how.. your parents would react..? would they shriek upon their horrors seeing their own son missing a few organs…? or would they weep with a small smile telling me thank you…? its so hard to tell these days..”

she stopped.

she began to stare at his ever so lively face.

“oh i know i shouldnt of done this.. but i knew i had to.”

she reached into his stomach and grabbed his heart.

“a cliché move, i know. stop judging me, i know you are.”

she bit into it.

blood began flowing out the wound as her mouth dripped the crimson liquid onto the white dress.

“blood is such,”

she bit again.

more blood.

she swallowed.

“a real and pure thing.. i dont see how anyone can bleed so much.”

by the time she finished the heart she stood.

blood was all over her face and the dress.

she smirked and laughed.

“im sorry,”

she grabbed the hand from earlier.

“but you tasted like heaven my dear.”

she paused.

“till next time.”

I've been meaning to answer this!! Sorry it took me so long.

So when I say hilariously bad, I mean in like its objectively a bad horror movie but it is also really fun and enjoyable. It may have been the wrong phrasing really. Maybe enjoyably bad would have been better.

I really enjoyed the Fnaf movie!! It was a lot of fun and I loved how the animatronics looked. As a Fnaf fan (though only recently, I wasnt there for the big boom) I enjoyed all of the references. While the decision to make the animatronics more sympathetic and child like was unexpected I actually really enjoyed it!

Matthew Lillard was definately a highlight, even if he wasnt there a lot and I actually really enjoyed Mike's character and his relationship with Abby.

Also the animation on the cupcake was fucking hilarious, that mf was just flying around and going ham on people's limbs. Why did it look like that.

The opening music was absolutely banger and the animation was a great reference to the games. I enjoyed that a lot.

The sets where really awesome, I loved what they did with the lighting in the pizzeria and did I say the animatronics looked awesome? They looked awesome. They looked just like the game counterparts and the way they movied looked so accurate and ough, I love costumes. Spring trap looked fucking awesome too, I really enjoyed art direction in the movie.

But, it is still critically a bad movie, there were quite a few problems that I noticed. The pacing was off in a lot of places. While I liked the scene of the characters playing with the animatronics, it went for far too long and I found myself sitting there wondering when they were going to move on. There also definately should have been more Afton, not just because I like Matthew Lillard in the role but because it felt like spring trap was kind of shoehorned in at the end because they needed that final scene. If you knew nothing about Fnaf or the fact that Lillard was supposed to be Afton, you probably would have no idea he was actually the killer. I feel like there should have been more scenes of Mike and Afton interacting that included hints to who he really is.

I really hated Vanessa. She felt so unnecessary, contradictory and was just kind of annoying. She was apparently supposed to be keeping Mike in the dark but I didnt get that from her at all? Like she was constantly giving him lore, telling him to keep Abby away from the Pizzeria and was just overall helping him? She was also just far too familiar and friendly when they first met it just came off as, is annoying the right word? It definately felt weird. I understand she wanted to try and expose her father, but her actions, I dunno they didn't reflect that all that well? I was never really sure what her motivations were. The fact that she was a cop was so unnecessary too, why did she need to be a police officer? It was never used in any meaningful way. Also she just throws Mike's medication into the river!! Who does that!! She also felt shoehorned in for the sake of having an adult female lead that could be a possible love interest in another movie. Her character could have been so much better and she feels like wasted potential. Maybe I'll make a post about how I would rewrite her...

The whole Aunt trying to take Abby away also felt unnecessary. It doesnt get enough focus on it to feel like an actual threat and it really didn't need to be there. Mike could have just been a struggling guy who had to take the night shift to put dinner on their table. Abby still could have needed to come with him some nights. I honestly dont know why that plot point was in the movie tbh. The plot with the babysitter spying on them was even more pointless and if you wanted a scene where people break into the pizzeria there could have been a better way of doing it. Maybe one of Abby's schoolmates' siblings overhears her talking about the pizzeria decides that would be a great place to vandalize idk.

Mike's dream theory stuff was actually really interesting and cool! I really enjoyed that, but I wish it was focused on more. Maybe it would have been better in a different movie where it was the focus, rather than more of a side thing to the animatronics. The dream stuff did also shelve any use of the cameras in the pizzeria, which upset me because the cams are one of the key elements of the fnaf games. But instead he was just sleeping through scenes where they could have been used. The dreams also could have been a good use to hint at Afton being the killer if it was used a little bit better.

Lastly and most importantly, the movie was not scary. I know it was supposed to be for younger audiences, but still. For a movie based on a game about avoiding getting jumpscared, there were barely any of them! Funnily enough the scariest part of the movie was balloon boy, the jumpscare. I also just didnt feel tense at all? Maybe that was just me.

Despite all of this though, the movie was still enjoyable. It was a movie that I liked! The problems didnt take too much from my viewing experience and as I said I loved the references to the games. The final scene where Afton is getting Fnaf 3ed was fucking awesome! I loved how they incorporated that into the movie! Also he said 'I'll always come back.' Which was very good. Mat Pat was a nice cameo to see too! Loved the theory man. I wish that cassette girl said 'The animatronics do get a little quirky at night.' Though. ALSO THE MARRIONETTE CRUMBS IN THE END CREDITS?? I LOVE MARRIONETTE!!

Enjoyably bad definately reflects how I felt about the movie more than hilariously bad. It was a good bad movie 6/10.

Would be scrolling through magicam and sees a video of horror movie recommendations.. he immediately sends the video to you, texting you something like:

" We gotta watch ALL of these... NOW!!! im on my way to ramshackle xoxo! <3 "

he'd bring some of the sweets trey baked + some blankets for the both of you... build a blanket fort or two!

once you guys get all set up for the movie, Cater would act all scared as an excuse to snuggle up next to you.. ^_^;;

" O-M-G.! Prefect...! I'm seriously trembling in fear.. Hold me! I'm sooo scared!!"

"Cater? It hasn't even started?"

He's actually not scared at all, quite unfazed, actually!! He just wants an excuse to get all snuggly with his favourite prefect!..

If you're not a fan of jumpscares or anything, Cater would cover your eyes for you when he feels one coming.. (°_°)

Would accidentally choke on a tart or something because a jumpscare popped up while he was eating it ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ poor Cater. Make sure to hand him some water....

bought a stack of horror movies from sam's shop for the both of you.. Why? He doesn't know why he just felt like it..

well, better put his thaumarks to good use and watch all of them? (_ _).｡o○

honestly the last person you'd wanna watch horror movies with if you're easily scared... He is NOT gonna spare you're fragile heart.. run while you still can!!

Just kidding he'd never let you run. You already agreed!!

At the most dramatic or eerie parts he'd just yell "BOO!!" to scare you, laughs if you genuinely gets scared.. If you don't like it give him a good death glare and tell him to knock it off ^^;;; might work, might not.. it's a test of luck really!

"Floyd, cut that out or I will seriously kill you!

You guys bicker like siblings.. Started off with you going "Look it's you Floyd!" When an ugly character appeared on the screen.. Now it's an ongoing battle on who can say "It's you!" first when an ugly character pops up.

If he actually gets startled by a scare, He WILL let out the loudest yell ever.. Make sure to cover his mouth when he does this or else you'll face the wrath of Azul!!

The.. somewhat normal option to watch horror movies with!

Would rent out a horror movie to get into the spooky spirit!!! Invites you over and has popcorn and some other snacks prepared!!

Like Cater, Jade Would also feign fear..

"Ah, I'm so afraid! Even my voice is trembling."

"??? You sound normal though?"

"hehee.."

Just don't mind him and hold him .. its the best for the both of you.. ʅ（◞‿◟）ʃ

Would comfort you if you get easily scared! Would pat you on the back if he see's you trembling.. a little reminder that Jade's here to protect you!! ^^

So unfazed by the movie.. It's like he's immune to getting scared. It's really impressive.

He giggles softly at the scariest parts.. You ask him about it and he gives you a smile as an answer... just don't worry about it I suppose?
