im glad i lived thru my 20s bc it means i have gotten to watch my friends mature and evolve and come into themselves and just like. level up in general, its nice

specifically re: gender, it seems like. online there is a lot of fretting about how one's presentation will be received, whether it will seem authentic, whether people will read you the way you want to be read, etc etc and i get that and i empathize w the fear but i also wish that i could go back in time and tell everyone i have met who fretted about those things that like.

everyone matures, right, everything that seems strange today will be so normal its unworthy of notice someday, and its probably much sooner than you expect it to be. some of the things you are afraid of attempting today, you eventually may attempt anyway, and keep attempting it, and it will become so ingrained that the way people receive it will be more of their responsibility than yours. every new frontier you explore will one day become a well-worn path, one that's familiar to both you and the people around you, ykwim???

like idk i think everyone i've known who has worried about Seeming Queer Enough has eventually reached a point-- at least to my eye-- where their own manifestation of queerness is not only Visible, but obvious and unquestionable. and its not bc they adapted to some external standard of What Visible Queerness Looks Like, they just lived their own version of queerness until it became worn and familiar and shaped-to-their-form, like an old sweater. experience gave them the confidence and familiarity to express themselves in a way that is effortless and natural and obviously recognizable, at least to people who are (or have become!) tuned to understanding their particular nuances

i'm sure it's not universal but ime, in general, those kinds of insecurities come from inexperience more than anything, and there is a confidence that comes from practice & habit that you will eventually find just by... continuing to be alive and be you and exist in public, continuing to explore and do whatever it is that gives you joy, and at least a little bit by finding the people who simply like who you already are.

idk i hope that's a hopeful thought for someone???? idk lol the people who are paying attention will not misread you forever, and even people who are not ~up on the lingo~ or informed of your Whole Situation will still get used to your shit, bc-- wave of virulent transphobic US politics notwithstanding-- in general, people are decent and want to get along with each other. if they are fundamentally decent and kind they will Get Used To any trivial weirdness you throw at them, and a lot of things that seem like a huge deal when they're new and raw are actually trivial with enough time to get used to them. if normalization is a thing that can (and, ime, often & inevitably does) happen on an individual level, if virisimilitude is inevitable, then maybe the ppl who don't get with the program over time are their own problem & not yours, ykwim??

something something about the power imbalance inherent to being an unhoused person, how similar it is to the dependency that abusers intentionally foster in their relationships to keep victims from leaving. but if you're homeless and someone is putting you up, especially if it's for free/some kind of exchange other than rent, you're basically expected to put up with whatever indignity they can imagine for you and still just be grateful. And if you set a boundary or speak up for yourself in any kind of way, that's Taking Advantage of this poor kind person who's doing SO much for you already, how could you?

sorry its 2am and I'm trying to write a better draft about this for later too but its like. being homeless is a huge, huge vulnerability. ppl people will look to exploit that, intentionally or not. and doubly so if you're homeless because you're disabled.

also something the ableism involved... about how I know so many fellow disabled people who have struggled with homelessness, and we all have similar stories about people we trusted, friends or loved ones who seemed all too happy to help and take us in, and how we repeatedly impressed upon them the nature of our health and the situation, and they swore up and down that they understood and that we were on the same page about boundaries and expectations... only to have them blow up and kick us out at the absolute first sign of conflict or miscommunication, or because we didn't get jobs fast enough, or because we didn't contribute financially even after being told that wasn't expected, and so on.

and how, I know so many housed people who have never been through this, who all have very similar stories about how they tried to help a friend in need once, and they were SO lazy and horrible and took SO long to get their shit together that they clearly were just a freeloader taking advantage who should've never been trusted, just like all homeless people, and that's why we give them socks and canned beans instead of money.

I was never allowed to complain about ableist expectations or abled people ignoring my boundaries in my parents' home. Especially not after I became a disabled adult who still needed help with housing. And that's been true of most of the couch-hopping I've done since then, too.

Currently we have a fairly nice situation... we live with a trusted and pleasant friend. It's a whole house, not an apartment. Not even in the city. We have our own entire room. We don't have to pay rent or anything. It's temporary even aside from our discomfort, it's just been a nice place to land for the cold months.

However. Friends parents are not so chill. Their dad is the most disgusting man alive and has repeatedly gotten us sick bc he's always got something, bleeds all over and never cleans it up, never washes his hands, leaves his dentures on countertops and tables with food still stuck on them, coughs all over our stuff and never masks, is actively making the mouse infestation worse with all the food he leaves out, and puts our health at risk in SO many ways.

he used to work in Healthcare btw. His wife still does. They know we're here bc we're homeless; they know we're both disabled and immunocompromised; neither of them will wear a mask. Both of them are constantly coughing everywhere and not even covering their mouths. We've tried to politely bring this to their attention multiple times and nothing changes. They just ignore us.

We could literally die from this. We could get lifelong health complications even worse than what we have now. Bel lost his sense of taste today and now we're terrified that it's gonna be long covid or something else that sucks what little joy is left from our daily lives.

You lose everything, and then you're supposed to just say nothing and accept your lot, no matter how much danger you're in, because beggars can't be choosers. If you're disabled and poor you'd better just be fine with people abusing you and putting your health and safety at risk indefinitely, because you're lucky they're even helping you at all instead of JUST abusing you.

You dont get to have a home. You dont get to collect things, or keep sentimental things, or have a whole, adequate wardrobe. You get what you can carry with you and what won't get stolen or destroyed by others, or by the nature of moving so much. You dont get to have safety and stability and roots and community. You dont get the dignity of boundaries or your own space. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit. And be happy and say "thank you" if people are merely ignoring you instead of actively silencing you. And if the people "helping" you actually give you the thing that kills you, at least you didn't die of exposure, I guess? Or something?

Its just. Every single thing you do as both a homeless & disabled person reminds you how utterly worthless you are to the """normal""" people around you. Every day. It's so demoralizing.

THE BRAIN ROT IS REAL! Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel are both amazing in their own ways.

I've thought about a HH x OM crossover before and I treat it the same way I do the other demon/hell-based crossovers with selfships/characters I like. I could go into a whole tangent about integrating those different power structures into the existing OM universe but I should probably leave that for another post.

Anyway!

Let's pretend that Alastor has a similar rep in the OM universe as he does in Hazbin Hotel - he's charismatic and mysterious, yet the rumors about his ruthless and power-hungry nature are alarming at best and terrifying at worst. He can be quite monstrous, like any proper sinner demon should be.

Of course, the rest of MC's acquaintances/friends/lovers would be concerned if MC suddenly started hanging out with a demon like him. Alastor is kind to MC - too kind, perhaps. Why is he suddenly interested in befriending a random human like MC, when he could just as easily try to win Solomon's favour instead? It's all very suspicious at the beginning, but the more time they spend together, the worse it seems. MC doesn't understand why their other friends don't like him no matter how much they reassure everyone that their impressions of Alastor are wrong or misguided.

Even if Alastor's motives for being close to MC are platonic only, the other demons in MC's social circle still question whether or not he can be trusted.

KARASU: Alastor doesn't like TV and I can't see him liking the D.D.D. or internet technology either. He might use it sparingly if necessary, but I think he'd prefer to remain disconnected from it as much as possible. He probably doesn't even have his own D.D.D. and that makes it more challenging for a tech-savvy demon like Karasu to learn about him or monitor his activities. He'd be extremely suspicious of Alastor befriending MC, especially since Alastor rarely uses the D.D.D. to communicate, but he doesn't know how to articulate his concerns without potentially upsetting MC in the process.

AZRA & ZEE: They've done horrible things in the past and they know all of the Devildom's most dangerous demons. The thought of MC spending time with Alastor bothers them both. Azra can be just as charming and lays it on thick when Alastor's around. The Fall even plays jazz music from the human world as a novelty event when Alastor and MC visit together. It's all a pretense to be a gracious host even though both demons know their smiles and friendly platitudes are acts they put on for MC's sake.

While Azra is doing his job and actually running his club for once, Zee's solution to the Alastor problem is more covert. He spends a lot of time monitoring MC when they spend time with Alastor in the Devildom. He also tries to track Alastor when MC isn't present, but the Radio Demon is more cautious when he's alone. He's a slippery demon to spy on, and Zee suspects he knows he's being followed.

TENEBRIS: He's one of the OCs that doesn't really hide his dislike of Alastor. He downplays it a bit for MC's sake, but he makes it perfectly clear that he's not buying whatever wholesome BFF act that Alastor is trying to sell. Alastor thinks all of MC's other demon friends are ridiculous to treat him the way they do - not that he blames them exactly, but it gets tiring dealing with their antics. Tenebris is one of the few demons that warns Alastor directly that he'll regret it if he should ever do anything to harm MC. He has the Prince's favour to protect him from potential consequences and the magical strength to follow through with his threats. Alastor actually respects him more for that, and he might consider whether or not some sort of deal with the wayward mage might be beneficial to him in the future...

Hii☺️! I wanted to ask if you could make a post about what made you like Kawaki x Sarada, i'm also a fan and it would be nice to see what made another fan like them. Thanks in advance!

Well tbh it'd be a very long post if I were to go really full in depth on why I like the pair so I'll try to summarize as much as I can.

For starters I like that their dynamic is one of equals, Kawaki treats Sarada no different than he does Boruto or Mitsuki, for context, refer to chapter 58 which everyone uses against the ship but actually it showed one of the best aspects of Kawaki and Sarada's relationship

Kawaki doesnt look down on Sarada at all, he doesnt view her as incapable of fending for herself or as some weak damsel that needs protecting, no, he attacked her with the same energy as he did Mitsuki, and Sarada fought back to put Kawaki in his place.

Ppl view this as toxic, but in all honesty this was just two teammates having a heated disagreement who decided to mutually battle it out to settle it. These ppl are ninja/fighters, this is not Kawaki attacking some defenseless civilian or vice versa, but an EQUAL adversary with combat experience just like him.

Compare that to how Boruto treats Sarada in this moment and you'll get a clear idea of why alot of ppl prefer Kawaki and even Mitsuki >>

Boruto immediately jumps in to protect her, assuming Sarada couldnt defend herself and that Kawaki actually would do something as stupid as severely hurt or even kill Sarada in broad daylight infront of them AND Naruto who he KNEW was watching them, meaning theres no way Boruto actually thought Kawaki would be that stupid, he just assumed Sarada couldnt handle it and instead needed to let HIM handle Kawaki instead because apparently shes incapable of getting her own squad in line.

This not only undermined Sarada as their captain, but also gives a clear insight on what their dynamic will be as Hokage as well. Boruto will ALWAYS come to her rescue not because he has to, but because he looks down on Sarada, he doesnt see her as an equal, he sees her as someone he has to protect, someone who should just 'let him handle it' and her just obediently stands back as he fights all her battles.

This pathetic dynamic between them continues even in TBV with him having been gone 3 years, he literally appears in the very first chapter doing the exact same thing hes always done, taking over her battle and telling her to let him handle it.

Theres is no equality there, Sarada has zero leadership when it comes to Boruto and instead just does whatever he tells her to do, so much so that he feels more like the captain and future Hokage than she does.

Kawaki gives Sarada no such treatment, in every encounter he and Sarada are on equal footing, she doesnt submit to him anymore than he does her, and Kawaki actually believes in Sarada's abilities and knows she can fend for herself, hes shown this in the Boro fight when he was willing to rely on her and her alone to find Boro's core and destroy it because he had faith in her sharingan, he also agreed with Mitsuki that she was the most suited to be captain and lead them.

You can argue that all 3 of them put their faith in Sarada, but Mitsuki was the one who suggested she be captain, and Kawaki was the first to agree that she gave them the highest chance of winning, the only one who complained was Boruto until he was outnumbered, which just furthers my point of how he perceives her.

Notice how this fight was heavily changed in the anime to make it seem like Boruto was the one who had the most faith in Sarada? when in the manga it was actually Kawaki and Mitsuki who did? yea, this is canon, that is SPs fanfiction, which turns out that ALOT of the anime only content and additions really are fanfics that the manga disregards entirely, so I'll keep my reasonings tied primarily to the manga.

Sarada doesnt clam up with Kawaki, she stands up to him, doesnt back down, she never submits to him and always stands her ground.

Again ppl take this as toxic, but in reality it shows just how much Sarada has her own autonomy when shes with him, something she loses entirely when in the presence of Boruto.

When Boruto tells Sarada to back off vs when Kawaki tells her to back off

The difference is night and day but lets move on

Another reason I like the ship is because she was his first friend, the first girl to witness his trauma, and the first one besides the Uzumaki fam to reach out to him despite all his rudeness toward her up till that point.

In the new Database Kawaki's favorite food is listed as being Taiyaki, which was introduced to him for the first time through Sarada, making Sarada the reason Kawaki discovered his favorite food, and not just that, the first time he actually got to CHOOSE what he wanted to eat. This is something reinforced by the anime as well, as Kawaki remembers Sarada's suggestion that day and decided to try it for himself this time.

I will reference the anime only for things that add up with the manga.

Whats special about this is that Sarada will always be connected to his favorite food, even more special in the anime because Kawaki had ate other food prior to first trying Taiyaki, and yet the one he decided was his favorite was the snack he tried through Sarada.

Their flower symbolism is also a huge reason I love the ship, Sarada being the Scarlet Spring and Kawaki being the Broken Vase could not be more poetic and something alot of the rival ships lack. For example KawaSara has what I mentioned, while BoruMitsu has the sun and moon, and BoruSumi has the violet flower Sumire's named after for her sincere feelings and Boruto as her savior.

Alot of ppl think BoruSara is the sun and moon which is...stupid but they base it on their doujutsu's which again is stupid because the sun does not apply to Sarada's character anymore than the moon does Boruto, that is literally Boruto and Mitsuki's symbolism, but the fact that they try to take that tells you that they dont really have any symbolism of their own, if they did they wouldnt need BoruMitsu's

The supporting shadow and Hokage also doesnt apply to them because its a dynamic shared between their fathers even before they existed, so its actually THEIR symbolism that once again that fandom tries to piggyback off of because again, they have no real symbolism of their own, they always have to steal or insert themselves into someone elses.

KawaSumi is no different, ppl try to make her somehow the water for Kawaki's dryness, or the water he lacked in his bamboo cup, the bamboo also being symbolic of Sumire in this scenario, and somehow they inserted Amado into this goofy theory as well.

Water has never been symbolic of Sumire, she just has water nature chakra, but its not an actual aspect of her character, no that has always been her name, the flower shes named after, Violet, which is hanakotoba means sincerity which applies to her character and her sincere feelings for Boruto. Her last name has been irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but yea, even her last name Kakei meaning bamboo has nothing to do with her overall character, she just took her mothers surname so she could infiltrate the village and thats as far as that went.

Now the biggest symbolism they try to claim is yin and yang, which in both match ups they have their placements wrong entirely, but because they have to FORCE this dynamic, because its a dynamic all the past pairings had, they try to FORCE them to fit where they dont belong because they know if it were actually accurate that their whole attempt would fall apart.

Basically they try to paint Boruto and Kawaki as yin and Sarada and Sumire as yang, sometimes Sarada as yang and Boruto as yin

This however is incorrect, and its incorrect intentionally because the truth debunks this entirely.

Boruto and Kawaki are canonically Yang and Yin, so their placements are set in stone, as for Sarada and Sumire? you need only look at the other yin and yang types to figure it out.

Sasuke is also yin, Sakura is yang, Naruto is yang, Hinata is yin, Shikamaru is yin, Temari is yang, Minato is yin, Kushina is yang, Ino is yang, Sai is yin

You get the picture, so who fits the mold? Sarada obviously fits yang, and Sumire obviously fits yin, and thats exactly why they avoid the truth in regards to this, because Kishimoto always had balance in his pairings, but with BoruSara and KawaSumi, it would be completely imbalanced with yang x yang and yin x yin.

So even the yin and yang symbolism is out for them, but not for KawaSara, not for BoruMitsu, and not for BoruSumi.

Anyway moving on I like the whole red flower symbolism they have going on for them as well, because Sarada is the scarlet spring, it is very fitting that their main flower symbolism is red carnations and red camelias, both of which symbolize love in hanakotoba, and we saw those red carnations placed in the vase that is symbolic of Kawaki's heart.

The symbolism is strong with them, it'd take too long to go into everything but to sum it up they are a very symbolic pair, which is why I prefer them over the other bland alternatives that really have nothing going for them other than again, taking what another ship has or fabricating symbolism when there is none.

Another reason I love the ship is because of its potential, instead of the dynamic with Boruto where Sarada will always stand back, the dynamic ppl THINK they have is actually between her and Kawaki. If and when Hokage, Kawaki would allow Sarada to shine on her own, to call her own shots, and he'll just support her, he'll help where she asks/needs and back off where she doesnt.

As for in the present I really saw alot of potential for their development over the 3 years without Boruto around to interfere, I thought there could've been alot of interesting conflict and development over that time but...unfortunately...seems like there was hardly anything which is disappointing.

There was a huge potential for Sarada to play dumb and pretend shes affected to have Kawaki let his guard down so she could stick close to him and gather whatever info she can from him, since her and Kawaki would be 'childhood friends' its not odd for her to ask personal questions, she could've asked how he felt about what Boruto did, how is he able to go through with killing his brother, isnt it hard on him having lost his family and his brother betray him etc after all they did for him

She could've gotten insight into his mindset, Kawaki could've expressed some remorse or sadness, could've vented to her like he did before, or maybe even show his frustration at her only caring about him right now because she thinks hes Boruto and wouldnt be reaching out to him right now otherwise. For example, a scenario this fanart was based off of.

There was potential for some real angst and internal conflict, Sarada trying to gain info out of Kawaki thinking the worst of him but realizing he actually wasnt being malicious and really does feel remorse for his actions but just genuinely believes this is the only way to protect everyone. There was also the potential conflict of Kawaki feeling totally isolated and alone, since the only ones who knew the truth would be him Ada and Daemon, and having Sarada be kind to him as her close friend when he knows [believes] she never would if she knew the truth could've been really interesting. Both of them struggling with this conflict between truth and lies could've been really interesting. Sarada and Kawaki both feeling guilty for the secrets that their keeping, but still pushing forward to do what they believe is right.

There was also the potential of Sarada not pretending to be affected, then there was potential to show some relief from Kawaki that there is atleast someone who still sees and remembers him for the real him, who still treats him as Kawaki and not Boruto. Over the years things would've obviously been heated and hostile between them, but I would imagine somewhere along the lines they could've become civil rivals.

Sarada would still oppose Kawaki, but she would atleast put aside their differences to deal with the current threats, and Kawaki would do the same.

I would've hoped that she and Kawaki had fought Code off multiple times over the years because chapter 80 ended on Code headed to Konoha to kill Boruto, who at the time still believed he was in the village, so it would've made sense that Code pulled up to the village, got beat by Kawaki and probably Daemon assisting while Sarada and co attended to the civilians safety and claw grimes, obviously being clear outmatched Code would retreat and try again another time, at some point he'd learn Boruto isnt in the village and would stop to go target him instead, until he eventually gets bored of chasing him down and comes back to Konoha again, where again I would've liked to see Sarada and Kawaki team up against Code to protect the village, especially now that 3 years had passed, Sarada has MS, Kawaki should be WAY more skilled with karma and Isshiki's abilities now, so it would've been cool to see them display their new power against Code and catch him off guard.

But nope, they didnt live up to any of that, not even close, and even now with Sarada on her way to help back up Kawaki and Delta we already know shes not being allowed to do anything and that Boruto will race right on back to protect them all again, its just so pathetic fr.

Regardless I still like them for what they COULD have been in the hands of a more competent writer.

Lastly ppl dont give this moment enough credit, but this was a HUGE thing for Sarada's character and her relationship with Kawaki

Keep in mind Sarada has known Boruto and Chocho since childhood, they are her BEST friends, her closest friends out of all her peers, and yet she has NEVER opened up to either of them about her feelings about her dad. In Gaiden Sarada literally hid her true intentions regarding her father from Chocho even tho she could've easily told her everything and Chocho would've backed her up but she didnt. Same for Boruto, you always see Sarada being considerate and looking out for Boruto's feelings about his dad, but you NEVER see him reciprocate that same consideration for Sarada, only in the anime/novel but NEVER in the manga, not even in the movie written entirely by Kishimoto do we see Boruto sympathize with Sarada at all, infact he just outright yells at her and only thinks about himself because his dad works too much, but he never once thinks about how Sarada feels not having her dad around at all growing up.

Sarada didnt feel she could confide in neither Boruto OR Chocho who were her two closest friends, but she opened up to Kawaki about something deeply personal to her that she NEVER did with anyone else, she even admits to being envious and resentful of Boruto who took what he had for granted, feelings she never would've had if he were actually reciprocating the same consideration about her dad as she did his.

This moment showed just how much she related to Kawaki, that finally she had found someone who understood, who felt the same way she did, who understood the same peace and solace that Naruto gave her in her darkest time, the confusion and heart ache she felt and how Naruto reached out to her even though he didnt have to, how he treated her as family even though she wasnt, how he gave her the love and affection she desperately craved but was lacking from her own father, Sarada UNDERSTOOD Kawaki because shes been where he is, and thats why she was able to open up to Kawaki in a way she never could anyone else.

Whats even more important about this moment is that Kawaki listens to her without saying a word but his expression speaks volumes, he looks at her which shows him really listening and taking in what she says, then he looks down with a pained expression as if her words really struck a cord with him, because he knows what shes talking about, he's felt it, and he's going through it now with Naruto gone.

Not only that, but the peace and comfort he received from Naruto was gone now and it was all his fault, now Kawaki is left behind powerless and helpless without Naruto to hold him and tell him it'll be ok this time, but Sarada fills that role this time instead by letting him know she understands and that he's not alone, both of them are suffering, both of them HAVE suffered before this, and both of them were saved by Naruto, and both resented Boruto for taking what he had for granted.

Ppl like to say that Sumire understands Kawaki because of those anime only moments, but as I said alot of the anime only stuff is essentially meaningless in regards to the manga as the manga doesnt acknowledge even half of the stuff that exists in the anime, so I will not be taking those episodes into account here because the manga completely contradicts them, also the episodes dont even show she understands him, all it shows is Sumire projecting her own experiences onto him and Kawaki telling her she doesnt know him and Sumire agreeing she doesnt but is trying to. I dont think it gets much clearer that she didnt and doesnt understand him.

Their conversation in the lab also didnt show she understood him, all she did was be nervous and repeat Narutos words, not relating to him personally with her own words, Kawaki did most of the talking himself, not really addressing Sumire directly but more so thinking out loud, then Sumire just adds her 2 cents about the obvious which is Amado being sus and wanting Kawaki to think that way.

You know, for someone who has been described to have "garnered the hatred of his colleagues in record time", the game didn't really show a great job of it.

Yeah, Gavin does act in a way that makes this believable but when it comes to his interactions with others, it doesn't really show.

Tina is, at the very least, on good terms with him considering that she sits with him in the lunch room, listens to his story, doesn't speak up at all if he hits Connor and even follows Gavin when he leaves.

Chris also is shown to have no problem with him. He doesn't chastise Gavin when Gavin says "we could always try roughing it up a little", Gavin steps into defend him when Connor pulls Chris away from Shaolin and at the Eden Club, Chris doesn't say anything when Gavin mocks Graham and doesn't step in to defend Hank against Gavin's comment about his drinking even though Chris respects Hank.

Also, his description says "Ruthlessly ambitious, Reed will do anything to advance his career, even if it means treading on other peoples’ toes". I could see Gavin being like this to people low on the dpd totem poll, people he most likely will never speak to again but after seeing his interactions with Tina and Chris, I don't believe that Gavin could even do anything negative to them just to further his own goals.

I just find it interesting that in theory, Gavin was supposed to be this hated, deplorable and "evil" character but the more and more I've been delving into him, his actions and scenes throughout dbh, I honestly believe that they did a poor job of displaying him as the douchebag people are supposed to believe he is.

They only did a good job at making him "evil" to ppl with one brain cell.

As for the rest of us who practice critical thinking, we need more to go on. Unfortunately... it seems as if there are very few of us. I find that depressing. If anything, everyone at the DPD just seems to stay out of his way instead of scowling at him in disgust. There's no display of "hatred" or "fear" there. It's more like mild dislike for some and apathy for others.

One can argue that Chris and Ti are just passive ppl incapable of standing up for themselves -- that they just go along with whatever Gav is saying and/or doing at any point -- but it's been proven false.

Chris outright stands up for himself when Gav is telling him to get Shaolin moving in The Interrogation. Gav doesn't give him any shit for doing that. If he was so "evil," he'd tear Chris a new one after that, but Gav accepts his answer and just stays (impatiently) quiet.

Ti is very blunt and not laying herself flat when Markus mimics the dispatch lady in Capitol Park + questions said dispatch.

EDIT 01/30/2024: On a rewatch -- I was recording voice lines for a project -- I also noticed that Ti literally smiles amused for a moment looking at Con before she leaves the break room. Her initial reaction was uncertainty opening her mouth as if to say something (bc she didn't look surprised) when Gav decked him in the thirium pump regulator, but then she smiled.

Nearly impossible to dislike a person with Neil Newbon's charisma unless it's out of spite for the ppl who do like them and/or the actors/writers, etc. Gav being "hated" by the precinct doesn't make much sense in theory. Neil was too charismatic for the casting, lol. I'm glad he got the role regardless as few can pull off what he did.

okay so basically i love pucci we have to kill him. here is a list of my thoughts in no particular order

he makes me so ill like genuinely he is one of the most well written jojo characters ever and DEFINITELY the most well written villain. like holy shit. i think a lot about how weather said the evilest of people are those who think they are good and how that relates to pucci oh my GOD it makes me sick. pucci like many villains are a "ends justify the means" kinda guy like while he was cruel at many points i truly think he was jsut like, yes this is a moment of weakness but it wont matter because im going to fix it. i think aobut how he really thought he was going to save everyone. he was going to save perla. he was going to save dio. he was going to save himself. and thinking baout things from his side, like, oh my god. dio was his only friend. we the audience know that dio groomed him (not necessarily sexually but still grooming) and even though dio did seem to grow to truly care for pucci, he didnt care enough to not use him for his plan to restart the world -- but PUCCI didnt know that. im sure he had inklings and feelings like he's not NAIVE, im sure he KNEW dio was using him at SOME point, but it wouldnt change the fact dio still eventually saw him and was his friend either way. it wouldnt change the fact that he would do this one thing for his only friend, even if his only friend BECAME his friend in the first place just to make him fulfill this task. god dio and pucci's relationship is so insane i hate hate hate that people boil it down to just shipping LIKE THERE WAS RESENTMENT THERE WAS ANGER THERE WAS SO MUCH LOVE AND HALF OF IT WAS LOVE FOR WHAT THE OTHER COULD DO FOR HIM INSTEAD OF JUST HIM HIMSELF . LIKE FUCK'S SAKE im sick of ppl putting a romantic spin on everything and YES this is half me being aromatnic but also COME ON. and that's not even getting into the fact dio and pucci's relationship is supposed to parallel jolyne and jotaro's/jolyne and jonathan's. but anyway

god he loved his sister so much man it makes me sick he jsut wanted her safe man. after everything....i choose to believe his final thoughts were of perla. it's why he was begging for everything he did to have meant SOMETHING -- please let if have meant perla got a good life in whatever universe the world will end up in. i like to believe she did. he won't be there to see it. oh god he wont be there ot see it. fuck. maybe that was for the best in his mind anyway

his drama and tragedy aside he's also the funniest guy in the entire world. why the hell is a catholic priest wearing gucci. well i guess that answers the question but still. he is so fucking funny he is not even subtle about it he is LITERALLY like EOUGH DONT TOUCH MY EXPENSIVE DESIGNER PANTS and then he kicks a cop to his death for it. he's so fucking funny i love him so much. i love that whitesnake is independent enough to have its own personality and he and pucci get into spats sometimes OS FUCKING FUNNY. also my disdain for shipping culture aside i cannot deny that pucci is a homophobic homosexual. he and jotaro totally banged a couple times and awkwardly called it off when pucci first sees jotaro's birthmark and he's like oh no. SO FUCKING FUNNY

ugh sorry i jsut want to go back to this point he's so smart he's so Aware of how people work and connect he's always had a fine sense for it (do you believe in gravity...) OUGH like there's no WAY HE DIDN'T KNOW DIO WAS USING HIM BUT HE STILL LOVED DIO AND I THINK BEYOND THAT. I THINK HE TRUY BELIEVED WHAT DIO WAS SAYING. Studio Ghibli watch-through pt. 7

Finally found a way to finish watching these last 4 Ghibli films, so here's the current finale of my Studio Ghibli watch-through.

22. The Tale of Princess Kaguya (2013)

7/10

I loved the art style but I see how someone might be turned off of it but idc, they can leave more beautiful art to me. The story dragged in some places but it was still fun to watch.

23. When Marnie Was There (2014)

8/10

I came for the promise of yuri, was disappointed in the twist but watching it again I see that yuri is there but it's more of an awakening yuri. The story is also relatable for those of us artists who have felt burn out and depression blocking us from creating, not to mention the feeling that ppl are being nice just out of curtesy rather than genuinely. Tho' if I had a nickel for a Ghibli film that had a romance where it turned out they were related, I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened. (I know they aren't related in Poppy Hill but we were made to think they were for half the film)

24. Earwig & The Witch (2020)

3/10

First of, the Ghibli style in CGI didn't translate well. Second, this really could've been a series instead of a movie because at least in a series we might've gotten more than what we did get. Nothing really happened and then it ended just as it seemed like it might be moving the plot forward.

25. The Boy and the Heron (2023)

9/10

Saw this one in the theaters with my brother and we both loved it. Seeing as it's an apology from Hayao to his kids, in that he wants them to not follow his footsteps if they don't want to, makes the movie a bit more poignant. Wish we could've had more time in the wacky spirit world or whatever realm it was but I liked what we got (also Robert Pattinson killed it as the Heron)

That's every Studio Ghibli film from Castle of Cagliostro to The Boy and the Heron. Ghibli is a major inspiration not just for artists but for film makers/story tellers and I'd say that they should be required viewing for any aspiring artist/film maker/writer. While obviously their most well known ones but also some of the lesser known ones since there might be something there that someone sees potential in and expands on it in their own work.

I think part of the threatening to summon lwj with jin king thing is partly like. wwx is HORRIBLE at reading people. like he’s charming. he draws people in. he’s extremely clever and brilliant. but I, personally, think he’s an idiot when it comes to reading people!

almost every wangxian interpretation I’ve ever seen has some iteration of ‘wwx can read lwj while lwj seems expressionless’ and I am always FLOORED how people got that from any of the media. the person who can read lwj is his brother! not wei at the time of my death the man who hated me and my demonic cultivation most was non other than hanguang jun wuxian. not wei lan zhan has a crush on mianmiam wuxian. not wei I couldn’t admit to myself I wanted to sleep with lwj until after I died and got resurrected and we’re all being held hostage wuxian.

fic writers out here are like ‘wwx understands lwj best!’ meanwhile xichen is over here on his fourth cup of ‘insert number of days’ since lwj has been irrational about the cultivation world’s number 1 criminal now that wen ruohan is dead’ coffee like

ANON YOU ARE CORRECT ON ALL POINTS IMO. The very first thing that made me go "ohhhh, I don't think I like this" reading the novel was when LWJ showed up and WWX was genuinely convinced that LWJ despised him and was going to kill him. Like. What? I totally get not realizing the depth or nature of his feelings! But no discernible emotional attachment on WWX's part? They're not even friends? This makes LWJ forcibly dragging WWX back to Cloud Recesses extremely sketchy. What am I even doing here?

And the thing is, I could see WWX's obliviousness being used effectively! LWJ is the one who invited him to Jinlintai for Jin Ling's ceremony, after all; from what I can tell, it's entirely reasonable for WWX in the novel to think LWJ lured him deliberately into the Qiongqi Pass ambush. WWX could've approached LWJ with a mixture of distrust and hostility on the grounds that LWJ tried to kill him in his past life (deceitfully via a gesture of friendship, no less!), and been utterly bewildered by LWJ's behavior towards him for that reason. His feelings for LWJ then change and grow because he's learning more about what the hell happened with the political plot.

Instead, we just get Wei Wuxian, The Jianghu's Most Tediously Oblivious Man, and his aloof love interest who exclusively shows affection while he is drunk or while WWX is incapacitated/unconscious/whatever and won't remember, and both of them replace Gay Chicken with communication.

I can see "WWX can read LWJ like a book" for the drama specifically. Wang Yibo does an excellent job of conveying interiority so something different is always going on underneath LWJ's stoic expressions. The "you must like Mianmian!" stuff in CQL always read to me as WWX teasing LWJ knowing full well there was no truth to it (though still not getting who LWJ did have a crush on). And since the two of them are good friends in that canon (with WWX's protestations that they are TOTALLY not friends, LWJ is so BORING!! coming off as tsundere behavior rather than his honest assessment of the situation), of course they'd understand each other!

BUT EVEN THEN. EVEN THEN! LXC can read him best. LXC can read him even when LWJ demonstrates his own tsundere behavior. LXC knows his didi better than anyone else and does everything he can for LWJ's happiness and safety, and in exchange he gets kicked to the curb at the lowest point in his life. Maybe the insistence that WWX is the only person who can understand him is so ppl don't have to think about that last part too much.

ty!!!! i am afraid my tips might seem kind of obvious and not that much of a hot take but here's what worked for me:

writing sprints. do 10 min. do 17 min. do 30 min. whatever it is, just get words down on the page. after each sprint was finished i'd look at what i wrote, fix up the most glaring mistakes (espe if the words looked terrible. i've learned to live with a lot of spelling errors bc otherwise u waste too much time. during nano each day i'd prolly manage between 2-3 sprints -- usually enough to net me between 1000-1500 words each day. i wouldn't stop if i hit the daily total, i'd stop when i could feel the motivation waning. my lowest day was under 300 words, my biggest was just over 4000.

get a community. writing sucks alone. i feel very grateful that i've made some friends on here who were also trying to write regularly, so now there's 5 of us in a little discord i've made. we do sprints with each other and share lots of snippets, memes, pretty pictures etc. it keeps us excited about our own projects, but also allows us to cheerlead each other on.

get used to placeholders. i use TK. anytime there's a word i need but it's not on the tip of my tongue? TK my beloved. sometimes i'd write like she sighed in a TK kind of way, or like harry opens his mouth to argue about TK TK some work thing he's doing TK TK. it just keeps u in the pace of writing ur in, but allows for a few words to be spent writing down a piece that needs further expansion.

establish habits and goals. for me, it's stuff like trying to write the bulk of my writing with a nice candle lit, but also the silly stuff like putting on lippy so I feel like. Ready to do shit. have a few drinks avail. one to hydrate (ice cold) one to caffeinate (also ice cold). play music or sounds that will help u get into the zone without overly distracting. now that i've won it i'm gonna treat myself to some silly purchases as well bc i should reward myself for such hard work and dedication. i'm thinking a v comfy hoodie.

overall if i didn't have the community i had this month i think my external motivation would've been lost quickly, so find friends to yell at about ur project. watch yt videos about ppl doing writing! make posts and don't give a flying fuck about being cringe or not suiting ut 'aesthetic'. this is u. do it for U.

in terms of this project: the short version is hermione goes back to hogwarts post book 7 and has to slowly begin to recover from/learn to live with the PTSD she's gained. alas, draco is also back and she's gotta learn to make peace with the fact that he's allowed to want to change and that he's making small steps to become a better person than who he was. they're gonna kiss and be disgusting with each other. ultimately this is a story about hermione's journey, as the whole thing is written from her perspective, so although the dhr aspect is there, there are also other important relationships i want to focus on -- especially her and harry.

i'm ignoring/expanding on a lot of canon, and using some details from the movies i prefer over the books (namely her mudblood scar bc mmmmm parallels). i don't really know if anybody is in character but i don't care! this is my story and i'll do it how i see fit haha.

the following excerpt comes from late sept in the current draft. at this point dhr has been forced together a few times already. draco has surreptitiously managed to drug slughorn with a potion of his (slughorn's) own making during their potions class bc the potions professor was spending an entire lesson just showing off instead of. u know. teaching.

it's so annoying going through the recent posts on the olivia rodrigo tag bc it's flooded with swifties passive aggressively critising her about the most stupid shit. like one swiftie critised her bc olivia answered a question about what a song was about with something like 'its open to interpretation/its about whatever you want' and they were calling her cagey and saying she was 'making excuses' like what?? what do you mean? that's the approach i LIKE in songs/media. why should a song be confined to celebrity gossip? people did that enough to sour, i think it's good olivia isn't giving into gossip and keeping the meanings more guarded this time around. you realise she doesn't owe you her life story and an alphabetised list of her exes, right? it also annoys me bc the SAME PPL will call her a clout chaser like which one is it??? it just pisses me off so much bc i've literally blocked the taylor swift tag and i still see the posts somehow and now they're in the olivia rodrigo tag when i just wanna fan out over GUTS smh. i don't get why they don't make an anti olivia rodrigo tag and use that like you do with the anti taylor swift tag. i'm so over the olivia rodrigo hate and the taylor swift hero worship. especially when taylor (or her team whatever still her camp, still her profiting) demanded 50% writing credits on deja vu for no reason, she wasn't in the writers room or anything. like ppl say its bc deja vu sounds like cruel summer and where? it just doesn't. it's greed at this point and somehow olivia is the villian. rubs me the wrong way to see a young upcoming woc being forced to give over 50% of her profit to a multimillionaire and still being seen as in the wrong and having her every action critised.

from my experience, most people who don’t use anti tags want to instigate shit. they want people to see what they’re saying. some seem to think anti tags are “too much” or “too negative” so use critical instead of anti, and it all just fucks up the already broken system.

idk man i just really think that if u genuinely believe that fic authors are required to care about characters they dont care about and make content for characters or ships they dont care about just to prove theyre not secretly misogynists uh. i dont think you actually care about how theyre actually treating real women. because you seem to be using solely the characters they choose to write self-indulgent free fanworks about as the metric to define that instead of, yknow. anything else they do. or at least youre putting a whole lot of emphasis on it

also theres quite a few lesbians ive met who actually dont write men. some even genderbend, whether thru a cis-swap where theyre now AFAB cis women or thru trans headcanons or whatever, canonically male characters so they dont have to write about men. theyre a minority in most animanga and other mainstream fandoms ive seen but as i am not in every fandom nor am i privy to the inner workings of every fandom idk how like, rare those ppl actually are compared to authors who exclusively or mostly write abt men

also like. not sorry for this one, but as a nonbinary trans man who is not a woman even a little bit and refuses to be seen as one or associate myself with womanhood because i am not a woman, it is specifically irritating to me to be told this, because i tend to write most about the characters i project on to or see myself reflected in, and, unsurprisingly, 99% of those characters are men, or can be read as men or are men at least some of the time, or more masculine in presentation

jasper from SU has always been my favorite gem and i didn't get invested in the series until she showed up, for example, and i heavily project onto her and see my experiences in her, despite her being considered woman-aligned, which i have no problem with and am actually glad about because there's not a whole lot of very masculine/butch women in mainstream media to start with, though i wish the show had been more sympathetic with her considering she's literally an abuse victim but i digress

but i often don't write for female or fem-presenting canon characters, or focus many of my fics on them, because in order for me to really get attached to a pre-existing character not of my own creation in a series, i need to be able to see some aspect of myself in them, or they need to have something that makes me interested in their story and draws me towards them. but seeing myself reflected in a character who is a woman or identifies mostly or often as a woman is dysphoria-inducing for me. that's why most of the female characters i write for are my own OCs, because i created them, which means a little piece of me goes into them, which means i'm able to have that connection i often lack with canon characters. i also tend to make the most content for characters i feel attracted towards, who are always men because i'm gay lmao

like i'm not misogynistic or a misogynist. i don't hate women. it's just that between my writing process and the canon characters my brain gets attached to, when i write fic, i write about the canon characters i care about the most, who most often tend to be men because i'm mostly in fandoms of male character-dominated series where the women are either uninteresting, poorly written, or extremely minor, or all three in the worst case scenario. and since i do this for fun, i'm not gonna waste my time writing something i'm not 100% passionate about just because there's a lack of f/f and women-centric content like

that's a problem! but it's a problem that can be just as easily fixed by the people who are demanding more content themselves if they, yknow, actually made some. which a lot of them don't

17: most trivial thing they fight over?

oh i think that they would fight quite a lot abt all kinds of trivial things, esp considering that arguing is a form of flirtation for cardassians and they both enjoy the mental stimulation of debating with each other. i think if they ever moved in together they'd fight a lot abt interior decoration bc they seem to have different design sensibilities lol.

i also feel like if they were going out for a dinner date, garak would be one of those ppl who would be like "oh i don't know where we should eat, you choose" but then find something distasteful abt every single option bashir suggests. but whenever bashir asks him again if he knows where he wants to eat he'll STILL be like "oh no dear, you pick" lmao

38: what would they get each other for gifts?

this is an obvious answer but i think books would make excellent gifts for both of them respectively. i know they both love to read and it's something they bond over, and i think they would both also appreciate owning a book as a physical artifact as well.

i think it would be pretty common for garak to make clothes for bashir. ik that some textile artists have a superstition abt your relationship being doomed if you sew/knit/etc a garment for your partner, but i don't think that superstition ever reached cardassia lol. i think he'd get a sense of satisfaction out of seeing bashir wear stuff he'd made for him, even if it wouldn't happen too often bc he's in uniform most of the time lol.

bashir would mostly buy practical gifts i think, but would also enjoy giving food that garak likes to him (i.e., delavian chocolates etc). i think garak isn't the kind of person who'd approve of huge overly expensive gifts and bashir knows that so he'd keep it pretty subtle but things that would still be very useful. maybe occasionally he might get something rlly special and sentimental for him though............... idk what but i can imagine him being the kind of person who would give socks and food or whatever as gifts 90% of the time but then the other 10% of the time he gives gifts that are extremely special and precious, not necessarily expensive but very thoughtful.

47: how do they make up after a fight?

i think they'd both have slightly different strategies for this depending on who tries to mend things first. bashir would just offer to talk abt it i think. like he'd be straightforward and ask if they could talk abt it, and attempt to address the problem logically and reach a compromise they'd both be happy with. he knows it's a mistake to try and use federation typical therapy-speech type stuff on garak so he tends to be relatively firm and blunt with his words, but still kind and forgiving. i think he'd also try to do something nice or organise some kind of activity they could do together to help them bond.

in terms of garak, i think his mix of pride and self-loathing would make it VERY difficult for him to apologise/ask to make up. but sometimes he has to when he knows it's his fault things got out of hand. i think in contrast to bashir, he'd dance around the issue and not address it directly but instead just try to be extra nice/do nice things to smooth things over without actually talking abt why they fought in the first place. maybe eventually he'd apologise directly but i think he'd prefer to just attempt to communicate it through his actions, which doesn't always work lol

How much of the outfits you show us is just you dressing up for the camera, and how much is real life? Do you regularly wear a diaper to the grocery store or a helmet while at home?

Wearing diapers is real life. I always been wearing 24/7.

The helmets at home are also reality on almost a daily basis, few min to full nights wearing one.

Life jackets in the swimming pool is reality. I never go in the swimming pool or a lake/ocean without wearing one. I had seizures before, in the swimming pool too. I like floating in a life jacket, and the fact is that they saved my life at least 3 times.

Bondage gears is fun play at home once in a while, although they have been using medical restraints at hospitals. I have been for medical reasons.

What I post is what I do, what I need, who I am and what I like. In public, I do stimming, fidget and unconsciously have my diapers often exposed. I do camouflage in general in public to look and act “normal” for whatever normal seems to be.

What I don’t do is long session bondage cuz I get easily bored and want to do something else, or have to do other things like everyone does.

Also, suspension bondage in vertical is extremely dangerous. The hanging syndrome is real and should be taken seriously cuz it could be fatal. The suspension bondage scenes are always short play.

Sleeping in a complete Segufix and unsupervised is also very dangerous. Even hospitals will never leave a restrained patient unattended or closely monitored. Although these restraints are safe and comfortable, they are not indicated for long term use, surely nit in the 21st century. Here are the reasons why:

If u choke, panic, have a seizure, have a malaise, house fire, gas leak, a partner leaving u alone and having anything happen to him while locked in unbreakable restraints like Segufix… earthquake, anything can happen! Also, bed sores are possible. Your fun game can turn into a real nightmare and be life threatening. When it comes to bondage, I never play long sessions. I don’t sleep in the Segufix.

We made videos where I am locked in a straitjacket, or bed restraints. I never been left alone and on my own. Ironically, it’s irresponsible and way too dangerous. If the partner leaves the room, either he is not leaving the house, or we use baby talkie walkies if he is too far in the house. However, we can say whatever we want in our videos because their main purposes are having fun, and adding a touch of fantasy makes them memorable too.

I don’t play self bondage when home alone. I almost got stuck for real once, and I was living alone when that happened. It might sound like a fantasy for some, but when this happened to me, I panicked and managed to get out of my self bondage after 30 min. This was stupid, dangerous, and I will never do it again. What if I couldn’t get out? Who would have found me and when? Than this is reality.

I am not perfect. Not everyone will like my pics and videos. Not everyone will believe me, it’s normal because I am different. By sharing my lifestyle and kinks, I am taking a risk of being judged negatively by a vast majority and I am aware of it. When I get positive comments and when ppls are sharing with me similar interests, it makes me feel more understood and happier.

I prefer to go old school with my videos instead of adding any music or visual effects. I want to keep things simple.

Everyone including Swifties have been bored of the pap walks Taylor has been doing with her friends since after the first two or three she's done after dumping Toe, nobody wants to see Taylor do the same boring pap walks with the same boring people at the same boring restraunts while the vast majority of people think that her current street style looks like complete crap.

Swifties were so bored of all this boring shit that Taylor's doing for the 1989 TV rollout that a lot of them were coming up with wild theories about how there is going to be a secret B-side to 1989 TV that has vault tracks with titles that don't sound boring as shit and collabs with actually cool and interesting celebrities. The excitement Taylor drummed up for Swifties with the Google vault puzzle didn't even last that long, the excitement all died off within two hours of Taylor announcing the vault track names and Swifties went back to coming up with "theories" to try and make 1989 TV and everything around it less boring.

Taylor bearding with this football dude was actually a good move for her to make because now Swifties aren't bored to death over how lackluster the rollout for 1989 TV is anymore and now she's got the attention of people who wouldn't be interested in her without this dude as potential new consumers of her products and the only downside of her doing this was pissing off a miniscule section of her fandom, Gaylors, who have a major issue with too many of them acting like awful over-entitled brats because she's her own person who handles her closet exactly the way she wants to instead of coming out of the closest for the benefits of others even thought Taylor's indicated in her most recent album Midnights that coming out of the closet just so others can benefit is something she has zero interest or intention of doing.

Hello, anon. So, let me see if I got it right. You think everyone was bored and that's why Taylor had to get a beard? That he'll solve all the problems by keeping swifties occupied and boosting her sales? I don't even- lol first, if your fanbase is so thirsty for news or entertainment that they can't sit still for a few weeks, something is wrong in the way you handle them. She's either sending the wrong signals, spoiling them with too much content to the point that when one thing happens (like the vault to solve), they're already antsy for the next thing. Did they forget about the year she spent away?? Maybe they need reminding. If you kept up with her during 2014-2015, you'll remember what it was like the 1989 era - she did promote that album a lot. It worked and she didn't need a guy for it, how crazy. What I think most ppl around me are saying, is that she's the Taylor Swift. She doesn't need a man to boost her numbers. Sure, she's reaching a new territory and a new audience with this stunt, but she doesn't need it to make big bucks. She's at the top of her game, she's reaching a new high every day. Just check the charts or how her concerts are sold out. Not to mention that 1989 is an era based on her being single and happy, her preaching all around about having fun with her friends and enjoying life without a relationship. That seems to have been thrown out of the window now. She could do better promo if she wanted to, bc we've seen it before. Now it seems like even if she just dumped her last beard in the first semester, she can't go more than a few months without a guy. What message does it send, anon? Ppl have every right to be annoyed, even if we do understand she's doing it for even bigger numbers and to have a wider audience. Most of us have been here for years keeping up with her story. As far as I've seen, no one is being an asshole demanding her to come out or whatever. They're just wondering why this same old story again. You're allowed your feelings and opinions, anon, but remember, so are we.
