reread the lightning thief just as a refresher, and it was so easy to reimagine every single scene just as i did when i was a kid, BUT,,, instead of seeing black haired percy and blonde annabeth,,, i see the new cast now :')
#it made me tear up a little bit :')#also rewatched the movie but i would be buried alive if i were to say they were actually quite faithful to the books#bc it was an ADAPTATION = a spin to the original source materials in relation to the movie format#however#it seemed like the movie was 100% not considering a sequel at all; which is why i was always like IT'S GOOD AS A STANDALONE#and perhaps#it was meant to be a standalone#bad move on the company's part bc all five books were released when the movie came out but hey#(we don't talk about sea of monsters)#the story was coherent and 'modernized' with the use of technology#but that's for another post (not)#ANYWAYS#it was so easy rereading tlt and was actually pleasantly surprised now that i have a more coherent brain HAHAHA#it held up pretty well

i read howl's moving castle yesterday and i was like oh i understand everything now. yeah i would also fuck off to become a wizard if i was a grad student and also welsh. anyway i decided to rewatch the movie immediately after i finished the book because i hadnt watched it in a long time and the whiplash i experienced going from book howl straight into movie howl's introduction is so indescribably funny i really recommend you all just try it for yourselves

soooo, this isn't the costume i wore today, i actually wore this when i went out saturday, but i've been meaning to post it here anyway so now's a good enough time as any! i had to pull something together with just stuff i had in my closet, and i'm pretty proud of how it turned out! especially the makeup, but that wasn't my doing, my brother did that for me, haha. i can't do makeup for shit gdshdslkfjd <3

Anyone else written letters for their future selves?
back in 2009? (so headed into first year of college) I wrote some letters to my future self and just found this one again while going through some old stuff and it makes me wish I'd have written more of them or journaled because damn I was dramatic
and gotta love the deep heteronormative thinkin of my younger self lmao so cringey but it's cathartic to chuckle at your past and see how much you may have changed
Well girl, the world isn't ended but it's a bit of a shitshow 🙃 And we didn't go into either of those professions but we're surprisingly an educator! Yeah I know. We swore we would NEVER cause we didn't have the patience to teach folks, but looks like we've gained some in the years. (Still got a ways to go tho)
Also the way I told myself "good girl" jfkdjdjf Like I really have craved some form of validation of self for ages huh?
It's been about 11 yrs now since I've been adamantly "no babies for this body" But I really had like a whole slideshow for aesthetics for a wedding and future house cause it was before pinterest (just looked it up and pinterest came out in Dec 2009- WIIIIIIIIILD)
