Samri: "You consider me sweet?" - Jungkook suddenly asked you. You were taken aback. "Um... I think I've always thought you were sweet, haven't I?" - You joked. But at that moment, your joke (or your truth) was taken differently. Jungkook came closer to you. You could just see his big chest in front of your eyes. When you looked up, you realized that Jungkook was very, very close to you. "So does that mean you like me?" - His voice was low. Your eyes turned into nickels. "Jungkook!" you shouted. "What are you talking about?" - You wanted to run away from Jungkook, but in a moment you were pinned against the wall. There was no way out. Controlling yourself and not getting feelings for any of the memebers was the number one task. Besides, you're not allowed to do that. The company rules strictly forbid it. But it was with Jungkook that you had the hardest time. Because he always showed special feelings for you, and you stubbornly thought that he was just being caring. You thought that right up until this moment.
From the author: Hello, guys. So I finally finished it. The story turned out to be quite long. Please read it to the end. I have to admit that this is the dirtiest thing I've ever written. I also have to say that I'm still a bad writer, so don't get mad at me for making mistakes! I remind you that English is not my native language, so there may be inaccuracies in the text or grammar. By the way, this story is completely fictitious and does not claim to be accurate. I don't know what duties BTS managers have, so this is completely my imagination. I hope you enjoy it!
***
"Waiter, another bottle of soju!" you hear very close to your ear. Jungkook's voice rings in your ears, and it goes through you, making you flinch. Jungkook leaned slightly towards you to shout, thinking the waiter would hear him better. Near bar next to the guy who was serving your table, bustled over to bring you another bottle to order.
You were sitting at a large table with the entire Bantan group and several managers. You were the BTS manager for their tour activities. You were in charge of their accommodation, food and leisure activities during the world tour. You also had to keep track of their schedule and make sure everything was on time. Some organizational issues regarding the concerts or its details sometimes fell on your shoulders as well. But despite working almost 14 hours, you couldn't say that you didn't love your job. Since you were an energetic and sociable person, you felt like a fish in water at this job.
You worked with the boys from BTS for almost two years. Despite your young age, you successfully passed the interview and proved to be quite competent in your work. You had good organizational skills and coped well with the challenges you faced almost every day.
You found a common language with the memebers right away. They were all responsive and attentive. Despite the popularity of the BTS, they were just ordinary guys to you. You spent a lot of time with them and they were almost like family to you. All seven guys were like older brothers to you. But sometimes you scolded them when they broke the schedule or did something for which you had to punish them. This usually only happened to three of the memebers. The fans called them "maknae-line". So Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook often did different things, so they were the ones you paid the most attention to. As for the professional work, you had no complaints; these three were the best. Your work began backstage. You especially had to keep a good eye on their behavior after the concert. And when it came to the celebration, you had to be especially attentive. Because the Mackne's liked to have a good time, and when they were drinking, like all young guys, they often like to do something.
Tonight was such an evening. After the third day of their concert in Chicago, the guys wanted to celebrate the end of their performances in that city. The guys invited only the closest members of the staff team, and of course you were among them.
Maybe it was a coincidence or some simple luck, but it turned out that there was a Korean restaurant not far from the hotel. Of course, everyone wanted to go there. You were the one who found this restaurant.
It was getting close to midnight. Tomorrow at 12 o'clock after breakfast, you and the rest of the BTS team are scheduled to leave for Los Angeles to continue the US tour. You looked at your watch for the third time in a few minutes. You were nervous, because everyone at the table had been drinking heavily, and they had probably forgotten that they had to wake up early tomorrow to leave for the trip.
Jungkook, who was sitting next to you, noticed that you often looked at your phone. He noticed that you only turn on the phone screen but don't click on it anymore. He concluded that you wanted to end the meeting. But he didn't think he'd had enough to drink. And the party was in full swing. You all had arrived at the restaurant just a little over a couple of hours ago. Jungkook didn't want to end the party.
"Manager," Jungkook called to you. He leaned over your ear. You flinched at his hot breath on your ear.
"What is it, Jungkook?" - You asked awkwardly Maknae. His closeness confused you. He seemed so big against you. He put his hand on the back of the chair you were sitting on. Jungkook was very close to you. And you tried to ignore your heart, which was beating fast.
Jungkook was a year older than you, but you agreed with him right away that there would be no formal language between you. Taehyung also wanted you to talk to him informally, but the fact that he was three years older still didn't allow you to erase the boundaries of respect and the rules that were established in Korean culture. That's why it turned out that Jungkook was the only one you talked to informally.
"Why do you look at the time so often?" - Jungkook asked. "Do you really want to end our celebration?"
"That's my intention!" you confessed. "Tomorrow we have to go for Los Angeles at noon. How long do you think it will take me to get all of you?" Jungkook chuckled. He knew you were right. But yours group hadn't been sitting down in restaurant very long.
"Yes, it will be difficult. But Manager, I know how organized you are. You'll definitely be able to handle this task." - Jungkook praised you. You knew exactly why he was doing this. He was probably trying to convince you to stay longer.
"Yes, Jungkook, I can handle this task. But we'll stay here until 11:00 p.m., and then we have to go back to the hotel." - Jungkook frowned a little.
"Why are you doing this to us? Don't we deserve to rest? We work so hard during our concerts." - Jungkook asked. You wanted to answer him that it was for their own good, but you were interrupted by the arrival of a waiter who brought more alcohol. Jungkook immediately lost interest in you. He turned away and joined the others who wanted to drink.
The celebration at the table was going very well. Everyone had a good drinking and discussed the last three concerts. You barely participated in the discussion, occasionally laughing at the jokes that were being made in the company. After drinking a lot of Coca-Cola, you had to go to the bathroom. On the way to the bathroom, you looked at your watch. It was 23.20. Everyone was supposed to leave for the hotel 20 minutes ago. You were determined to disperse everyone after you returned from the restroom.
The restroom in the restaurant was far from the main hall where you were sitting. To get there, you had to go down to the basement. The interior of the restaurant reminded you of home. The style of the whole restaurant perfectly reflected the culture of Korea. You went down to the basement and headed for the women's restroom. Despite the late hour, there were a lot of customers in the restaurant. So when you entered the women's stalls, you had to wait.
When you finished your business in the restroom, you intended to return to gather everyone to go home. Out of the corner of your ear you heard two girls talking about how it might be difficult to get a taxi at this time, as there is usually a lot of traffic at this time.
You came out of the restroom and on your way to the stairs, you ran into Jungkook. You almost literally ran into him. Or he it was you? He grabbed you by the shoulders, almost hugging you, trying to stop you both.
"Where are you going in such a hurry?" - He asked still holding you in his arms.
"Oh. Jungkook, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to knock you down. I was in a hurry to get to you all."
"To us?" - He asked again.
"Yes. I heard it might be hard to get a taxi. We should all go to the hotel now." - You said. It was only then that you realized you and Jungkook were hugging. You gently pulled away from his embrace.
"Who told you that?" - He asked. His eyes were half open. You noticed that Jungkook was a little drunk.
"I heard it from the girls in the restroom." You paused, looking at Jungkook. "Did you going to the restroom? I won't keep you here. I'll go tell everyone that we're leaving, and you just finish what you need to do and come back.” - You wanted to leave, but Jungkook blocked your path with his hand. You froze for a moment.
"I was actually looking for you." - Jungkook said, still holding his hand to stop you from leaving. You took one step back, indicating that you would stay.
"You were looking for me? What for?" - You asked with interest. Standing in front of Jungkook in the empty corridor, you couldn't help but notice again how big and tall he was compared to you.
Jungkook had a good male figure. To be honest, you thought he was the most attractive of all the memebers. His broad shoulders and tall stature filled the space around you.
"You seemed sad to me. I was wondering if you were okay?" - Jungkook asked. He was always so attentive to you. You smiled tiredly.
"Oh. Jungkook, you're so sweet." - You said. "I really appreciate your concern, but I'm fine. I'm really just tired." - Jungkook watched you the whole time. His eyes roamed over your face. "Her face is so pretty" was only in his head.
"You consider me sweet?" - Jungkook suddenly asked you.
"Manager, don't you think we have some chemistry?" Jungkook didn't touch you. But his hands resting on the wall in front of your head caught you in a trap.
"Jungkook, you seem to have had a lot to drink. Why are you suddenly talking about this? Or did I just happen to be the most attractive person here?" - Jungkook smiled at your words. He didn't answer. You noticed with horror how he was looking at your lips. You were afraid that he would have the courage to kiss you. Somewhere deep down, you wanted him to, too.
You were worried that if you were caught with Jungkook in that state, your job would be over.
"I didn't really drink that much." - He was quiet for a moment. "Manager..."
"Let go of me, Jungkook. We have to go. If someone sees us together they might get the wrong idea! Let's not cause any trouble!" - You said sternly. But it didn't work on him. Your seriousness made him laugh. "Did I say something funny?" - You were angry. Jungkook chuckled. You realized again how close he was to you. You could smell his perfume.
"You're so beautiful when you're angry." - Jungkook said through his laughter. "I love making you angry." - You tried to calm down, but all you could think about was how you was going to get his ass handed to him tomorrow.
"Manager, I've been wanting to talk to you about us for a long time. We've been spending so much time with you lately. I started to notice that you're always around me. We're always sitting next to each other and we talk a lot about topics unrelated to work. I started thinking about you. It seemed to me that something was happening between us. You know, like we're attracted to each other." - You stood there as if mesmerized by Jungkook's words. Analyzing everything he said, you concluded that you really do spend a lot of time with him. But your work is directly related to the Bantans. You have to be around them all the time. But you didn't consciously notice that you were around Jungkook the most.
"Jungkook... I don't think this is the right time. Let's talk to you tomorrow. You'll be sober and we'll take our time." - You suggested to the guy who still had you trapped.
"I don't want tomorrow. I want to discuss this right now." - Jungkook came closer, pushing you tighter against the wall.
"Jungkook!" you cried out. "Let's do this. We'll go to the hotel and talk." - You were trying to save yourself somehow.
"Promise?" - Jungkook's big eyes shone with hope.
"Yes. You have my word." - With that, Jungkook stepped back, releasing you.

The situation with the taxi turned out to be true. For everyone to get to the hotel, you had to call at least three taxis. But hailing even one was a real hassle.
After a while, and after all your repeated attempts to hail several cars, you managed to order a taxi. Since you were the most sober of them all, you controlled who would ride in which car. You successfully packed the first car with some of the memebers, namely Jin, Hosok, Namjoon, and two of your colleagues.
The next car arrived right after the first one left. After gathering everyone else, you watched them all get into the car. Yungi took the seat nearby driver’s. Taehyung and Jimin took the back seat, leaving only one seat left. You and Jungkook looked at each other. And you realized that there was not enough room for the two of you. Jimin, who was looking at you at that moment, also realized what was happening.
"Come on, Jungkook-ah, sit down and the manager will sit on your lap. That's the only way we'll fit." - Jimin suggested.
"Oh no." You immediately said. "If you don't mind..." - You asked the driver. "Will you take the boys and come back for me?"
"Or come for me. I'll wait for, Manager you go with the boys." - Jungkook said. But the driver refused to you two.
"I'm sorry, miss, I can't come back for anyone. I already have an order. So get in the car and let's go. You're holding up my work." - You didn't have much choice, so you had to sit in Jungkook's arms as Jimin had suggested earlier.
As you were leaning on Jungkook's lap, the car started moving. Jimin, Taehyung, and Yongi were discussing something vigorously and loudly. All you could do was think about the situation you were in. Sitting in Jungkook's arms was comfortable, as much as you didn't want to admit it. You tensed up thinking that this would make your seat easier. Jungkook held you with both hands. One of his hands supported your legs, which you placed between his and the Jimins'. His other hand held your waist. You could feel his body heat and smell his perfume and wondered how much longer you would have to endure this torment. You were just remembering how Jungkook had pushed you against the wall of the corridor when you heard him whisper in your ear.
"Manager, relax. You're so tense. I'm not going to bite you." - You looked back at him. His eyes were sparkling and a smile was playing on his lips.
"It's okay," you smiled awkwardly. You stopped talking. Laughter and loud conversations continued in the car, and you asked the boys to be a little quieter because it might distract the driver. The boys quieted down and started talking more calmly.
The trip from the restaurant to the hotel took a maximum of 15 minutes, but given the traffic on this Saturday night, the trip took a long time. You were in traffic and you looked at your phone. It was almost one in the morning. You blocked the phone in frustration and looked out the window, trying to assess the full scale of the tragedy.
The boys were discussing something and you didn't listen to their conversation. Jungkook made a joke and all three of them, including him, couldn't help but laugh. You were about to scold them again, because you noticed how nervous the driver was, when suddenly you felt Jungkook's hand slide down below your waist. It was right on your buttock. You froze, unable to believe what had just happened. Jungkook was laughing so hard at his own joke that he buried himself in your hair laughing. He was shaking with laughter and you were shaking with him. You wiggled in his arms, thinking that he would think that you were uncomfortable sitting there, but he didn't even notice.
"Guys, please calm down. The driver is already nervous, and you're making noise." - You was nervous. All four of boys tried to calm down. A few seconds later, the car moved off.
As the car continued to move, the members calmed down and continued their chatter. But Jungkook was not going to take his hand off your ass. He liked it so much that he started stroking you. You got angry and leaned over to Jungkook and whispered in frustration.
"Jungkook, if you don't take your hand off my ass in a second, you're going to get a good beating." Jungkook smiled slyly. He smelled of alcohol.
"Your ass is so good. I think it's just perfect for my lap." - His words made you feel hot and nervous, worried that Jimin would hear what Jungkook said. But luckily, when you looked at Jimin, he was busy arguing with Taehyung.
"Jungkook. I'm warning you. You're literally walking on a knife's edge today." - You wanted to take away the hand he was holding on your buttocks, but Jungkook grabbed your hands gently. He grabbed you with one hand, the one he used to hold your legs. You jerked your arms a couple of times and felt him grabbing you tightly. So, to avoid attracting attention, you calmed down. "Okay, Jeon Jungkook. I'll take care of you at the hotel."
"I'll look forward to it."
***
Jungkook was hot. The alcohol coursing through his veins gave him a feeling of absolute freedom of action. He felt like he could do anything. Right now he wanted to be close to you. He liked the way you were sitting in his arms. He remembered holding your waist and stroking your ass. He could still smell your perfume in his nose.
There were thousands of thoughts going through Jungkook's mind, and almost all of them were about you. Jungkook had liked you for a long time, especially on the outside. You had big eyes and a pretty oval face, and your lips were plump. He couldn't help but like you, and in his opinion, many people must have liked you. The thing that fascinated Jungkook the most about you was your eyes, they were a gray-blue color. He thought he could look into your eyes for hours. This unusual color of eyes for his nation attracted him like a magnet.
Jungkook's normal days were so busy that there was no time for any romantic relationships. But everything has changed since you started working for the company. At first, Jungkook was a little embarrassed when he saw you, but after you spent more time together, he realized that you were a very comfortable person. You understood his humor and he liked yours. You were caring and attentive. Over the past year, you became noticeably closer. You often spent time at the company, or went out to lunch together, or rode home together. Jungkook felt comfortable with you and you with him.
Jungkook trailed behind Jimin and Taehyung. You walked with Yoongi, who asked you about tomorrow's schedule. You talked to him, but your mind was far away. You were nervous because you knew you had to talk to Jungkook. But you were determined that it wouldn't be today. Because Jungkook was drunk, and there was no point in talking to him. And the topic of the conversation was not exactly pleasant. You were nervous that you were being too intrusive, so Jungkook thought you wanted more than just a working relationship. But that wasn't the case. You were really attracted to Jungkook like a moth to a light, and you admitted it, but you should have been more careful about your behavior. You blushed at the quick memory of sitting in Jungkook's arms and what he did afterward. Emotions were raging inside you. You realized that your feelings for him were out of control, but you should realize that nothing could happen between you. Jungkook is an idol who can't have a relationship. And you are his manager, who can't have a relationship with a subordinate in any way. So you're determined to talk to Jungkook tomorrow and work things out.
The guys and you got into the elevator to go up to your rooms. Jungkook was behind you. You could feel how close he was again. The guys were drunk and joking around, their laughter loud. You tried to act calmly, paying attention to Jimin, who was laughing loudly, but you noticed in your peripheral vision that Jungkook was looking at you, and you felt hot. He was literally staring at you. And of course, Jimin's sharp eyesight caught it.
"Jungkook-ah, stop staring at the Manager like that. He seems to have a crush on you." - Taehyung and Yoongi were now looking at the two of you with interest. You let out a loud exhale.
"Jimin! Don't talk nonsense," you said, a little annoyed. You were tired and really wanted to rest after a busy day, so you were in no mood for jokes.
"Why do you think that I say nonsense?" - Jimin was indignant. He walked over to Jungkook and hugged him around the neck. "Just look how handsome Jungkook-ah is. You know what a desirable bachelor he is. You have a great opportunity to get an international playboy." - The boys giggled. Jungkook laughed too. The way Jimin advertised him was always hilarious.
Luckily for you, the elevator arrived on the floor where the memebers' rooms were located. Your room was one floor up. You got off at the floor with the guys to make sure they would all end up in their rooms and not go out.
You could barely get Jimin to go to his room because he was winking and throwing ambiguous phrases all the way. The last person you had to take to his room was Jungkook.
You walked to his room in silence and stopped.
"Good night, Jungkook. Tomorrow at 10:00 you have to be ready. So get a good night's sleep." - You squeezed the words out of your mouth.
"I thought you were coming to my place. We were supposed to talk. You promised me." - Jungkook stared at you with his doe eyes.
"Um... yes, I did." - You confirmed. "But it's very late and you need to get some rest. Can we postpone this conversation?"
"No Y/N. You have to keep your word." - Jungkook unlocked his room door with his key card and opened it with a gesture inviting you in. You looked at the open door and then at Jungkook, who was waiting for you to come in. You were hesitant to go in. After checking that no one was there and that no one was following you (because you had a feeling that Jimin might do something like that), you hesitantly entered Jungkook's room.
You went inside and stopped almost at the entrance. Your legs felt like lead. Jungkook, who came in after you, almost bumped into you.
"Come in, Y/NI!" said Jungkook somewhere above your head. After waiting a few seconds, he passed you and went deeper into the room. You felt your heart go into overdrive. It was pounding so loudly that you were afraid Jungkgook might hear it.
Jungkgook's room was spacious in white colors. In the middle of the room was a large bed that was neatly made. The room smelled nice, but you couldn't put your finger on what it was. You thought it looked like chocolate.
Jungkgook was standing by the table, which was located near the window. You noticed a bottle of alcohol in his hands.
"Are you going to drink again?" - You asked, sounding annoyed.
"Will you drink with me?" - Jungkook answered your question with a question.
"No," you said and watched him open the bottle and fill the glass. He took one sip and looked at you. When your eyes met, you felt the blood rushing in your ears. You don't know how long you looked at each other, but it seemed like a very long time. You thought about what you had to say to him. For a split second, you wondered what Jungkook was thinking. You wanted to read his thoughts.
In fact, all Jungkook could be thinking about as he looked at you was how he was kissing you. The way his hands explore your every curve. But he needs to control himself. But at that moment, his thoughts were so obscene that he wished he could make them come true as soon as possible. Even though he was drunk, he couldn't force you into any kind of contact. He would wait until you let him.
"Jungkook!" you began, wanting the conversation to end quickly. "Are you sure you want to talk now? I still insist that we talk tomorrow!"
"No, let's not put it off. We have to settle this matter." - Jungkook replied. You exhaled loudly. Jungkook took a few more short sips.
"Okay. I'll tell you how it really is." - You say. The famous Korean nodded in the affirmative. "Of course, we spend a lot of time with you, but you realize that this is my job. I have to be there for you almost 24/7. Somehow, it turned out that we hang out together the most, but I think it's because we're almost the same age and I consider you interest..." - Jungkook looked at you dispassionately, playing with the glass with the half-finished whiskey in it. "Don't get me wrong. We can't have any kind of relationship with you because it's against company rules. If anyone even finds out that I was in your private room at this time, I could get in trouble." - You sounded serious. Your eyes couldn't look at Jungkook directly, so you looked anywhere but at him. You also thought back to the moment in the taxi and warned Jungkook that if he ever touched your ass again, you would kill him.
Unlike you, Jungkook didn't take his eyes off you. It was like he was mesmerized. He didn’t heard half of what you said. Because he was busy looking at you. You were wearing a black top and a long-waisted skirt. Actually, the skirt wasn't too short, it was just above the knees, but as far as Jungkook was concerned, who kept his eyes on your legs, it showed enough of your slender legs. Over the top was a summer raglan that covered your shoulders. Jungkgook looked you up and down and concluded that you were too attractive for him to stand there and just stare at you.
After he finished the last sip of whiskey, he put the glass on the table and walked over to you. You were silent as Jungkook approached you. You reflexively began to move away, wanting the distance between you to remain the same. Because when Jungkook was at least a few steps away from you, you felt calmer. You guessed that you might like to feel his closeness and you might give in.
Unfortunately, you couldn't move far away. The ominous wall was almost behind you.
"Manager, why do I feel like you're afraid of me?" - Jungkook asked you. He stopped when he was close to you again. You didn't know it, but Jungkook really needed to be as close as he could be.
"I'm not afraid of you, Jungkook. I just feel comfortable when you keep your distance." - You admitted. Jungkook's eyebrows flew up at your words. Surprise graced his handsome face. You were looking at Jungkook and losing control. Your eyes fell treacherously to his lips. The silver piercing on his lip glistened as it caught the light from the lamp. Jungkook leaned toward you. Your faces were separated by a few centimeters.
"Could you go against the rules of the Manager?" - He asked.
"Yes. But not in your case." - You were adamant. Outwardly, yes. But in your mind, you were already imagining what Jungkook's lips would taste like.
"Why not? Who will know there's something between us?" - He said. Unbeknownst to you, he came even closer.
"It's too risky. You already break the rules too often, Jungkook. And in our situation, it's even worse. Don't think only about yourself and your whims. You need to realize that the connection between us could cost me my job." - You hoped that what you said would have an impact on Jungkook.
"I understand everything. But what am I supposed to do? You're driving me crazy!" He almost whispered the last words. "You walk around me all of you caring. You bring me food all the time and make sure I eat on time, you wait for me to come over for company, you call me when I drink like you know me like the back of your hand and control how much I've had. You wear those short skirts to drive me crazy. You joke with me about sleeping on the same couch and think it goes unnoticed?" - Jungkook was quiet for a moment. You listened to his deep breathing, the sound of which made your heart beat faster. "Do you have any idea how hard I'm working to control myself? I could have gotten close to you many times, and as you can see, I really thought about you. I know you might get in trouble. But damn, Y/N am not in my right mind anymore. It's hard for me to be around you because all I can think about is you. You're constantly in my head. Whenever you appear somewhere, I want to look only at you, listen only to your voice. I always want to touch you. Even now you are so close to me, and I cannot touch you. Because I respect your space. But you know what? I want to kiss you so badly." - Jungkook confesses. He approaches your lips but doesn't kiss you. You can almost physically feel his lips on yours. "You have to give me permission."
"Permission?" - You whisper. "Do I have to say something like 'green light'?" Jungkook chuckled.
"You can say it like that. It doesn't matter to me. I want you to be completely sure of what you want." - Jungkook said this against your lips. His hot breath , whiskey-scented breath burned you.
You felt like you were about to fall over because your legs didn't want to obey you. Suddenly you forgot all the words you had said earlier. There were thousands of butterflies in your stomach that made you tremble. You couldn't even imagine that Jungkook felt the something way about you. All the two years you've been working closely with the Bantan’s, you've been trying not to feel feelings for anyone. But let's be honest. When you met Jungkook, you almost fell in love with him at first sight. You tried to act like a professional, so your behavior seemed cold. But the things Jungkook said a few minutes ago unconsciously showed you that you also wanted to be around him as much as possible. Your job was a great cover for your true feelings.
Standing in front of Jungkook now and feeling all the warmth of his body, you realized that you wanted to take that risk. It was so dangerous, but Jungkook was what you wanted right now. Breathing heavily, you said, "If you want to kiss me..." - Jungkook stared at you with his big, coal-black eyes. "Do it. Kiss me!" - You breathed out. Jungkook didn't waste a second when he getting the so-called "green light" from you. He covered your lips with his. His lips were warm and soft, and the silver earring contrasted, giving a bit of coldness. His tongue touched your teeth, asking for permission to go deeper into your welcoming mouth. Seeing no reason not to let him, you opened your mouth and Jungkook's tongue intertwined with yours. He kissed you passionately. His tongue danced in time with yours. He occasionally caught your tongue and sucked on it. It was an interesting sensation. You could taste the whiskey Jungkook had recently drunk. You couldn't decide whether it was the passionate kiss or the whiskey on his tongue that was making you drunk.
You were still pressed against the wall. Jungkook put his arm around your waist, and the further you two deepened the kiss, the lower his hands went. He put his hand under your skirt and grabbed your ass. He squeezed it in his hand, deepening the kiss. From this contact, you felt a growing excitement somewhere in the bottom of your stomach.
Jungkook finally pulled away from your sweet lips. He continued kissing your neck. He left chains of short kisses, savoring every inch of your skin. As he kissed you, he whispered compliments under his breath. "My sweet, you are so damn good." - He said, and a little too enthusiastically, he left a few gaps. The slight pain you felt when Jungkook left the hickeys on you made you even more excited. You felt that your underwear was already wet. But you weren't the only one who was very excited. Jungkook's bulge pressing against you through his pants indicated that he wanted you too.
After leaving a few red marks on your tender neck, Jungkook decided that it was too hard to stand. He took your hand and led you to the bed. Jungkook kissed you passionately once again using his skillful tongue, and after moving away half a step, he grabbed the bottom of his T-shirt and decided that the clothes were becoming a big obstacle between you. He took off his shirt, exposing his upper body. You looked at his perfect abs and toned chest. His right arm was covered with tattoos that attracted all your attention. You had long dreamed of looking at those tattoos in more detail. His body was so beautiful that you felt yourself blushing. You wanted to sit down because your legs refused to hold you up.
Jungkook looked at you intently as he continued to undress. His gaze radiated absolute lust. He licked his lips as he undid his belt. You felt the blood boiling in your veins. You felt yourself getting hot. Jungkook smiled slyly as his pants fell to the ground. The guy was left only in his boxers. His bulge was so big that you gasped. He was like a Greek god standing front your eyes. Jungkook clearly liked your reaction because he laughed smugly.
"I look pretty good, don't I Manager?" he asked with a hint of pride in his voice as he approached you. You tried to say yes, but Jungkook didn't let you, he leaned down and kissed you. His wet lips met yours again, and his tongue plunged greedily into your mouth. Your head was spinning and you knew you wanted more. Jungkook straightened up and now you were looking up at him from down to up. He took your chin in his hands. He brushed his thumb across your lips.
"Did you know what, Manager? I feel like I could kiss those lips forever." - You don't even have time to react to his words, because with one sharp movement you find yourself on your feet. You stand front him. And when you look into his black eyes you realize that they completely absorb you. You realize that Jeon Jungkook has to get you completely.
He reaches for your riglan and takes it off. "I think it's getting in the way of both of us." - He comments on his actions. Following the riglan, Jungkook takes off your top, leaving you in your bra. After his hands reached for your skirt, he undid the zipper and it fell down. Jungkook noted to himself that your black underwear looked too sexy on you. He imagined that when he seen you many times before he hadn't even realized that you wore such sexy underwear. For a moment, he reminded what you looked like in the morning before the main rehearsal of the concert. You were wearing mom jeans and a shirt. Pretty simple clothes, but it must have that underneath was something exactly like what you were wearing now. You were so fucking hot.
There was something special about Jungkook undressing you himself. You really liked it. In a matter of seconds, you're standing in front of Jungkook without a bra. He keeps his eyes on your breasts. He can feel his erection growing and his boxers getting very tight. You feel goosebumps cover your entire body when Jungkook reaches out and touches one of your breasts. He gently squeezed it in his hand, playing with the nipple. He leaned down and took one nipple into his mouth and then the other. His tongue caressed your pink buds. Jungkook sucked on one of your nipples. You felt a pain that increased your excitement.
After he finished with your breasts, he pulled you to him. "So, do you like hard or soft sex?" - Jungkook asks you with a sly smile. You follow every movement of his plump lips.
"And which one do you prefer?" - You ask instead of answering. A laugh escapes Jungkook's lips.
"Oh. I like it hard, but I can be quite gentle." - Jungkook says. "But I want you to be comfortable, so you have to tell me if you don't like something." - Jungkook gently leads you to the bed, and then you're on your back, pressed against his muscular body. Jungkook kisses your neck and your desire grows. You spread your legs so that Jungkook can fit comfortably between them. His cock is pressing against your pussy and you want him to fill you up as soon as possible. "So what do you say? How do you want me to treat you, baby?" - Jungkook asked you again.
"You can treat me however you want!" You finally answer.
"Ahhh! You shouldn't talk like that. If you let me do too much, I can't promise you that I'll restrain myself."
"I'm interested in what you have to offer me." - You say. Jungkook pulls away from your neck and your eyes meet.
"Are you sure?" he suddenly says seriously.
"Absolutely. Do whatever you want with me." - You repeat. Jungkook smiled ominously.
"Fine. But honey, if you feel uncomfortable, please tell me." - He says affectionately. You nod in affirmation and Jungkook pounces on your swollen lips again.
Just when you're losing the taste of his honeyed lips, Jungkook pulls away from you to free you from your panties, which have definitely become superfluous on your body. His knotted fingers penetrate under the elastic and he slowly pulls them off. And after a few very long seconds, you find yourself completely naked in front of Jungkook. His eyes are focused on your pussy, and you see his eyes go completely dark. He lets out a moan so low that you think you might have imagined it. But no. He really did it. You meet his gaze and smile shyly. No man has ever looked at you with such eager eyes.
"You're Y/N's fucking dream." - Jungkook says in his low voice that radiates absolute excitement. You blush at his words and quietly glad to yourself that he hadn't turned on the lights in the entire room earlier. The only source of light was one of the floor lamps by the table.
Jungkook asks you to lie up higher on the bed. You listen to him and lie down comfortably almost at the headboard. Jungkook takes your legs in his hands and gently spreads them apart. He thinks he should undress completely, but he's so eager to taste your juicy pussy that he postpones this idea for later.
He moves closer to you and lowers himself against your chest. Jungkook wants to kiss your breasts again. And when his wet tongue rests on one of your nipples, you moan. Your moans are the best melody for Jungkook's ears. He continues to kiss your breasts, and then goes down covering your body with many kisses. And when he finally finds himself at the level of your welcoming pussy, he grabs your buttocks in his hands. "Open your legs wider for me, baby." - Jungkook asks. Again, you obediently do as Jungkook says.
You fall apart into a thousand little pieces when you feel Jungkook's tongue on your clit. He runs his tongue over the sensitive center a few times, and then he completely engulfs your clit in his mouth. Your moans become stronger in direct proportion to Jungkook's tongue movements. He skillfully moves it up and down, making you feel a growing orgasm. You can't lie still as Jungkook kisses your pussy. Your hands ball up into fists, you squeeze the fabric to somehow relieve the insane sensations that Jungkook's tongue gives you. You realize you're getting close when Jungkook suddenly pulls away from you. You look at Jungkook and see that his entire beard is shiny. Your juice is running down his chin.
"Did my sweet girl want to come without my permission?" - He says as he licks the rest of your cum. Jungkook smiles slyly as he crawls over to you and kisses you. You can taste yourself as Jungkook's tongue rushes into your mouth. "Can you taste how sweet you are?" - He asks you.
"Yes!" you say, looking at his lips and breathing heavily.
"You're such a little whore. I knew it." - Jungkook says and returns to your pussy. He kisses you gently down there and then orders you.
"You won't cum until I tell you to!" Jungkook looks at you carefully. "If you do it without my permission, you will be punished!"
"Yes, darling!" you say, with a fake submissiveness.
"Say “yes Daddy”!" Jungkook asks. You are surprised by his request. You've been afraid of the word because you've heard so many bad stories from your friends who used daddy's kink and it didn't work out well. You had to admit that you liked it when a man dominated you during sex. You didn't have many partners. And almost all of them were boring in sex, but the man who was your first partner was a dominant. He was the one who provoked your passion for this kind of behavior during sex. In the case of Jungkook, you felt his strong influence on you from the very beginning.
You wanted to obey his every demand. And when you heard him ask for "daddy's kink," it was as if you felt the spark inside you reignite and grow stronger. You wanted Jungkook to absolutely dominate you tonight. Your senses told you to trust him completely. So without hesitation, you accept his request.
"Yes, Daddy!" you moan these words and lick your dry lips. Jungkook lets out a growl or a moan and leans against your center again.
He works magic with his tongue. With each passing second, it's getting harder and harder to hold back your orgasm. You're trying not to fall apart, so your moans turn into whimpers.
"Jungkook!" you cry. "I... I can't hold back anymore." - Jungkook doesn't stop what he's doing and continues to kiss your delicious pussy. He turns his gaze to you to admire what he's doing to you. "I really can't take it anymore! Let me..." - You beg. You start to tremble all over. "Jungkook let me come!" - You almost scream. Jungkook takes a second to say.
"Call me 'Daddy' if you want me to listen to your requests!" - Jungkook says. While he is talking to you, he has replaced his tongue with his finger. Your torture continues, but now with Jungkook's fingers.
"Daddy. Please let me come!" - Your pleas excite Jungkook more than ever, and he feels very tight and painful in his boxers. His balls are straining and he wants to shove his cock inside you.
"Okay, love. Come on, do it for me." - Jungkook leans down to your pussy and engulfs your clit with his tongue. He sucks it lightly, but it's an incredible gesture for you. You almost instantly come on his tongue and Jungkook feels your clit twitching. The orgasm given by Jungkook sends you straight to heaven. Bliss spreads through your body and you clutch the sheet until your knuckles are white with incredible feeling. You instinctively want to move your legs to facilitate your orgasm, but Jungkook holds you with his hands, preventing you from doing so.
Finally, he rises above you, and you still can't calm. Jungkook smiles smugly as he wipes the rest of your juice off his face. He licks his fingers, which had traces of your cum on them. While you were trying to calm down, Jungkook took off his boxers. He stand out front the bed and you saw his big, thick cock drooping down. You knew for sure that Jungkook was going to be big, because the bulge that was hidden under his black boxers told you that you should get ready. He was erect and purple. A large thick vein ran through his entire cock. Jungkook took his handsome cock in his hand and rolled it a few times. A few beads of cum fell from the head.
Jungkook was approaching you. As he crawled toward you , you could see his cock springing. You opened your legs to allow Jungkook to get in position. When he lay on top of you, you felt his cock touch your cunt. A surge of desire made you wet again. Jungkook kissed you. He also kissed your tender neck.
"Jungkook?" you suddenly called out to him. He purred without taking his eyes off your neck.
"Mmm?"
"I want to make you feel good too. Let me suck your dick." - You say and feel Jungkook's lips stretch into a smile.
"I've been wanting this that for so long." - He says, looking at your beautiful face, holding his gaze on your lips. "If you knew how many times I've imagined those beautiful lips wrapped around my cock." - Jungkook touches your lips with his finger. "But I think we're not going to do that tonight. Because my desire to fuck your desirable pussy is stronger." - You smile. Jungkook is acting possessive, but you have the feeling that he only wants to satisfy you.
"But I want you to feel good too. Just like me." - You say.
"I feel very good. I've never felt so good before." Jungkook replies and your lips are one again. He slides his fingers inside you and you feel the pleasurable feelings start to build up again. He moves his fingers intensely, setting a certain pace.
"Do you take any birth control?" Jungkook suddenly asks.
"No" you answer.
"That's too bad. I don't have any condoms." - He worries.
"I'll go to the pharmacy later and buy some pills. So don't worry." - You reassure him.
"Are you sure? I can do it with my fingers. I don't have to enter you!" - Jungkook says. But you don't agree.
"I'm 100% sure. And I want to finally feel your cock inside me!" You say. After you say that, Jungkook get out his fingers from you and positions himself near your pelvis. He throws your legs over his shoulders. His purple head is already at the entrance. Jungkook can feel how wet you are as he starts to gently insert his cock.
"You're so wet for me!" - He says in a low voice that turns into a whisper. "So fucking tight."
New sensations fill every inch of your body. As Jungkook's cock gradually fills your cunt, you feel pain. You haven't slept with a man for a long time, and you haven't had such a big cock inside you never. The pain of his penetration is not terrible, but rather blissful.
When Jungkook is completely buried in you, he freezes, giving you and himself time to get used to it. Jungkook swears at the sensations your pussy gives him.
"Fuck. You're so tight, baby. I could cum just from coming inside you." - Jungkook whispers into your lips. He gives you a quick kiss and gets comfortable to start fucking you. Your head spins as Jungkook starts to move inside you. At first, his movements are riddled with pain, but after a few minutes, the pain is replaced by bliss. You start to moan and Jungkook speeds up his pace.
Your body was covered in a thin layer of sweat, just like Jungkook's. You grabbed Jungkook's biceps and every time he pushed his cock deep and hard into you, you squeezed his muscles.
"Do you like feeling my cock inside you?" - Jungkook asks you, not slowing down. You moan loudly, trying to express your pleasure to him. "Tell me, love. Did you want me to fuck you to the point of insanity?" - Jungkook's movements become sharper and deeper. He reaches your uterus and you almost go crazy with these feelings.
"Yes! Oh yes, daddy. I love your cock so deep inside me. I want that you to cum inside me." - You say.
Jungkook wants to change his position. He pulls out of you and you regret it. He asks you to turn over on your stomach. You end up on your knees and your back is bent. You spread your legs so that Jungkook has better access to your entrance. He adjusts himself at your entrance with the head of his cock against you. With his free hand, he strokes your back, drawing patterns.
When Jungkook enters you again, you hear the sounds of your wet pussy. You're so wet that he can slide into you perfectly. Jungkook makes a few thrusts to get to know where your G-spot. And when a loud moan escapes your lips, he knows what he has found. Staying in the right position, he presses his beautiful muscular body against you. His breath burns your ear. Jungkook finds your clit with his fingers and makes a few strokes.
"Are you ready, love?" - He whispers. "I'm going to fuck you really hard!"
"Yes, daddy. Fuck me really hard!" - You beg. Jungkook grabs your earlobe with his teeth and bites down lightly.
Soon Jungkook straightens up to fulfill your request. He begins to move deeply and somewhat roughly inside you again, knowing that this is how he will give you the most pleasure. Wet sounds come from your pussy as he slams into you with each new stroke. Your moans are loud and your eyes roll with bliss. You feel your pussy clenching every time he enters and leaves it. You feel the wave of orgasm rolling over you. You bite your lip to keep your moans down.
"Come on, my love. Do it! Cum on my cock!" says Jungkook. And you do it. You come all over him. You moan a long moan to announce your orgasm and Jungkook hisses "yes" without slowing down. He fucks your pussy so hard that he comes himself. After a series of hard thrusts, you feel Jungkook's hot cum filling you. His cock pulses inside you releasing his semen. Jungkook stops and you hear both of you breathing heavily. He stays inside you for a few more seconds and then pulls his softening cock out of you.
You collapse onto the pillows, catching your breath. Your throat is dry and your body is shaking. You roll over onto your back and meet Jungkook's gaze. He looks at you and then comes closer to kiss you. He hangs over you and you hug him around the neck.
"If I had known you were so beautiful when you cum, I would have done it a lot sooner!" - Jungkook smiles slyly. You are embarrassed to hear such a compliment. Jungkook gets off you and sits down next to you. He puts his hand on your hip.
"How do you feel?" - Jungkook asks, breathing heavily.
"I'm fine!" you reply with a shy smile. Jungkook smiles back at you reflexively.
"Do you want to take a shower?"
"Oh, yeah. I need to do that." - You want to cover your body with a sheet, but when Jungkook notices, he doesn't let you.
"What are you doing Y/N? Are you trying to hide your beautiful body from me?" - Jungkook lies down next to you and grabs your arms. They are trapped right above your head. "Don't ever do that again. I don't want you to cover up." - You smile again, embarrassed.
"Okay, Daddy. But you have to let me go, it's almost 3:00 in the morning. I have to go back to my room!" you say. Jungkook looks at your lips.
"I don't think you're going back right now. I have a new desire to fuck you again!" You are shocked. Jungkook was so insatiable.
"Jungkook you can't be serious. You just did that. Do you want to leave me completely exhausted so we can't leave for Los Angeles tomorrow?!" you protest. You try to get free and find yourself pinned down even more.
"I don't know when we'll be able to do this again. You weren't enough for me." - Jungkook leans down to your chin and moves his nose along your jawline.
"Jungkook... I really have to go." - You sound a little disappointed. Jungkook finally gives up and after one last peck on the cheek, he lets you go.
Jungkook sits in just his boxers and watches you get dressed with pleasure. When you are fully dressed, he walks you to the door. You are about to walk out when Jungkook grabs your arm. You watch as he literally fights the urge to not let you go.
"Y/N, we don’t really talked about us. What do you think about everything that happened?" Jungkook's voice is serious and depressed.
"Uh... yeah. We really didn't talk. I..." You try to find the right words. "I don't want to rush things, but I'm thrilled that this happened. Let's analyze everything and talk in a more relaxed atmosphere."
Jungkook nodded his head in the affirmative.
"Okay, baby. Whatever you say is fine. I'll wait until you're ready to discuss it again." - You stop talking and you feel the air thicken around you. You don't understand why it's suddenly so uncomfortable. But then Jungkook pulls you into a hug. You lean against his strenth chest.
"I don't want you to leave." - He says above your head. "I won't be able to sleep now." - You smile.
"I don't want to go either. But I have to get to my room without anyone seeing me." you said.
"Did you like it?" - Jungkook asks.
"Are you really asking me that?" - You say flirtatiously. "How could I not like having sex with Jeon Jungkook?" - The guy laughs from your words. When he stops laughing, you relax. "I am in awe of you!" - You say and lift your face to Jungkook's. He kisses you, but differently. This kiss is gentle and careful. And you feel the butterflies come to life again in your stomach. You're enjoying Jungkook's lips, but no matter how much you don't want to end it, you have to. You pulled away from Jungkook and left him in the room and finally walked out.
You don't remember how, but you got to your room quickly and quietly enough. When you went inside, you didn't turn on the light and sit under the door. You felt euphoric in every fiber of your body. Sex with Jungkook. It really happened. You couldn't even imagine that it would ever happen. But it happened and you had to deal with it somehow. You didn't know how you would behave later in the morning when you saw Jungkook again, but you knew one thing for sure: you were irrevocably and completely in love with Jungkook. And you had no idea what to do about it.

Do you have any advice for like organizing your life? Idk when it started but ive just been in this state of mind where I feel perpetually behind and in like chaos. I thought I had ADHD because I can never finish anything (if i can even get to the point where i start things) and i forget everything i have to do and i felt like i had a lot of the symptoms but maybe just on a milder scale, but i dont know if its something else mentally or i just dont know how to be properly organized. ):
Yes! I have so much advice. As someone who got through an entire Master's degree with untreated ADHD, I've had to get really familiar with organizational systems and other ways to trick my brain into doing what I need it to do. Whatever the cause of your executive dysfunction, I've got you covered 😂
TL;DR
Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound goals for yourself (SMART). Evaluate them and readjust if they're not working.
Make a big list of your tasks, and sort them into four groups: "Important & Urgent", "Important but Not Urgent", "Unimportant but Urgent", and "Unimportant and Not Urgent".
Find a technology that helps you keep track of everything, whether it's a productivity app like Notion, setting automated reminders, Google Calendar, or a notebook.
Figure out what's stopping you from getting started. Are you overwhelmed? Afraid of failing? Just bored?
Anything worth doing is worth doing badly. Just show up or just get started. A minute of work is better than not doing anything, so tell yourself you'll just get started and then you can quit. Doing things half-assed is better than not doing them at all.
Break down every task you have to do into very small details and check them off as you go along.
"Temptation bundle" tasks you need to do by pairing them with things you enjoy doing.
Try focusing on just one task for 25 minutes straight, taking a 5 minute break, and then focusing for 25 minutes straight again.
Do things how you'll get them done. It doesn't matter how you "should" do them. It's okay if you get things done out of order, or if you stop one task and come back to it later.
Try making tasks fun, interesting, novel, or cute to encourage yourself to do them. Or turn tasks into games.
Ask for help when you need it. It's okay to rely on other people.
It's not cheating to make things easier for yourself. Remove any obstacles or friction between you and the thing you want to get done so that the thing you want to get done is also the easiest path.
Setting The Right Goals
Before you even start trying to get things done, you need to know what needs to get done. A lot of the time, we intuitively feel like we know what needs to get done, but for people who struggle with executive dysfunction, we're prone to forgetting. For big goals, I like the WOOP and SMART(ER) methods.
WOOP and SMART(ER) goals
SMART(ER) is a tool to help you set the right goals for you.  Too often, we set goals like “I’m going to start exercising” or “I’m going to quit going on my phone”.  Those are great in theory, but without an action plan, it’s easy to not follow through.
SMARTER goals are ones that are:
Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
If your goal isn’t specific, you won’t be able to focus your efforts or feel motivated to achieve it.
Try to answer: what do I want to accomplish? Why is this goal important? Who is involved? Where is it located? Which resources or limits are involved?
Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
Having measurable goals is important because it allows you to track your progress and stay motivated by seeing how far you’ve come.
A measurable goal should be one that answers “how much”, “how many” and “how will I know when it’s accomplished”?
Achievable (agreed, attainable).
Your goal needs to be realistic in order for you to stay motivated and be successful. If you’re aiming too high, you’ll become demotivated quickly because it doesn’t feel like you’re making progress.
An achievable goal requires you to ask “how can I accomplish this goal” and “how realistic is this goal based on other constraints?”
Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
Relevant goals are ones that matter to you. Make sure that these goals are ones that are important to you, not ones that you think you should be pursuing.
A relevant goal is one that can answer “yes” to the following questions: “does this seem worthwhile?”, “is this the right time?”, “does this match my other efforts/needs?”, “is it applicable in my current socio-economic environment?”
Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive).
Every goal needs a target date so that you have a deadline you can focus on and work toward.
A time sensitive goal is one that answers “when?”, “what can I do six months from now?”, “what can I do six weeks from now?”, and “what can I do today?”
Evaluate
Every day, evaluate how you’re doing on your goals. Long term goals can be easily ignored if they’re not evaluated every day, and if you don’t evaluate how you’re doing on your goals regularly, you might miss the things that are preventing you from achieving them.
Readjust
If you find that your approach isn’t working, you may need to readjust your goals. That doesn’t mean that you’re failing at your goals or that you should quit; it just means you have to rethink the approach you’re taking. Maybe the goal isn’t as relevant to you as you thought it would be, or it’s not as realistic as you expected, or your timeline is too short. Identify which part of your SMARTER goal is tripping you up and readjust it.
The best goals are ones that include trying new things instead of quitting old ones.  Quitting things is hard; learning something new is easier and more exciting.  If you’re looking to quit something, replace it by establishing a new habit that takes its place.  For example, “I’m going to stop going on my phone,” is hard, but “when I feel like going on my phone, I’ll read a book for ten minutes instead” might be easier to maintain.
After you’ve figured out your SMARTER goal, it’s time to WOOP.  WOOP is something like the scientifically proven cousin of “manifesting”.  Just visualizing our goals or positive thinking on its own can be counterproductive, because it fools our lizard brains into believing that we’ve already achieved the goal.  By using the WOOP method, you can prevent that from happening and actually achieve what you want to achieve.
WOOP stands for:
Wish: Identify a wish that is challenging, yet attainable. This should be your SMARTER goal.
Outcome: Imagine the best outcome as a result of your wish (as vividly as possible). Really daydream about what your life would be like if you achieved your goal.
Ask yourself, what is the biggest benefit you could receive from achieving this goal?
Obstacle: Identify and imagine what obstacles will get in the way of your wish.
What might get in the way? Thoughts, feelings, beliefs, old behavior patterns, bad habits, social pressure… identify as many as you can, then prioritize their likely they are to happen and how significant they would be if they did happen.
Plan: Create an if-then plan to overcome the obstacles you identified- “if [obstacle occurs] then I will [plan A].” Do your best to pick the most effective path you can for each obstacle, and identify a few different plans in case your first plan doesn’t work.
For example, if you wanted to start exercising, your WOOP might look like this:
Wish: Go on a run 3x/week after school/work for a month.
Outcome: Better energy, confidence, and health.
Obstacle: Feeling tired and hungry at the end of the day…Not wanting to go.
Plan: Pack a snack for the end of the day, and put on gym clothes right when you get home.
Or if you wanted to stop watching TV and read more:
Wish: Watch only 5 episodes of TV per week, and read when I feel the urge to watch TV for a month.
Outcome: Learn a lot. Get smarter. Feel better. Enjoy the great ideas. Feel like I’m spending my time wisely.
Obstacle: Not feeling like it. Preferring to watch TV.
P: If I catch myself watching TV, then I turn it off and start reading a book instead.
Smaller Tasks
For smaller tasks, I use a method called 4 Quadrants. I make a big list of everything I can think of that I want to do or need to do. Then, I sort those tasks into four categories: "Important & Urgent", "Important but Not Urgent", "Unimportant but Urgent", and "Unimportant and Not Urgent". Doing this helps me to prioritize the things that need my attention right away without forgetting smaller tasks that I would like to get done at some point. If you can, also estimate how long you think each task will take.
The technology you use to actually keep track of everything will depend on what kind of person you are. The only thing that works for me is Notion. I think I like it because it's cute, flexible, and it syncs across all of my devices. Other people use the Notes app in their phone, have a Google Doc, use another productivity app, or just carry around a notebook/planner with them everywhere they go. You might have to try a few different options before finding what works for you.
Another thing that may help is setting reminders on your phone. Some people really like this method and other people really dislike this method, so YMMV, but it's worth trying. On the less intense end, you can put your tasks in a calendar and assign each task a specific block of time. This can be helpful because your brain can go on auto-pilot and just move from one task to the next. On the more intense end, you can also use your phone to remind you of tasks when you're in specific locations- for example, if you're by the library, it will remind you to return your books, or if you're by the grocery store, it will remind you that you're out of milk.
Actually Doing The Task
Now you know what you need to get done, but you still have to actually do the thing. Brains that struggle with executive dysfunction tend to struggle with starting tasks, even when they know they need to do something and want to do it. There are a few methods that help with this:
What's Stopping You?
First, see if there's anything that's holding you back from doing the task. It can help to ask yourself the following types of questions: Are you missing the materials you need to work on the task? Are you afraid that if you start, you'll do the task badly? Are you unsure of what the task entails or where to start with the task? Does the task feel overwhelming? Is the task boring? Knowing what's holding you back can help you find a workaround.
If what's stopping you is that you're missing the materials you need to work on the task, try making a list of everything you need and where you can get them. Then, you can just grab everything you need and start working.
If you're afraid that you'll do the task badly, try to remind yourself that everything that's worth getting done is worth doing badly. Doing something is better than doing nothing. It can also be helpful to remember that this version of the task doesn't need to be the final version. You can always go back and make edits to improve the final product. But you can't make the final product better if you never start.
If you feel overwhelmed with the task or are unsure of where to start, trying writing out each step of the task in stupidly small detail. For example: "Open laptop. Open Firefox. Open Google Docs. Create new document. Write name at top of document." Then, just do the first step of the task. It seems silly, but breaking tasks down into small, achievable steps can make it feel less overwhelming. If you like check lists, you can put a check box next to each step and check them off as you go. This is nice because it helps you to feel like you're making progress. If there are any steps you're unclear on, make a plan for how you're going to clarify those steps- talking to someone who's done the task before, researching the task online, etc. If you want, you can make this more fun by pretending you're filming a tutorial or pretending that you're a Sim.
If the task is boring, try "temptation bundling". This is where you take something you don't want to do (the task) and pair it with something you like to do (listening to music, watching TV, etc). For example, you may be more likely to exercise if you only watch your favorite TV show while you're at the gym. Doing this helps to make the task less boring and it helps us to want to do the task.
If your brain just kind of feels paralyzed, tell yourself that you're only going to do the task for a small amount of time (30 seconds, a minute, 5 minutes, whatever you think you can handle). If you still don't want to do the task after that time period is up, you can quit. This trick tends to help our brains break out of "task paralysis", where we just can't initiate a new task. Usually, after that time has passed, our brains realize that the task isn't actually that bad, and we can keep going until it gets finished.
In a similar vein, the Pomodoro method works for a lot of people who struggle with executive dysfunction (although not all- again, some people really like it and others really dislike it). With this method, you focus really hard on only one task for 25 minutes (or however long you can focus for) at a time and then take a 5 minute break. This tends to work because our brains can only concentrate for so long, and 25 minutes feels like a manageable amount of time to work on a task.
Some Miscellaneous Advice
In no particular order, here are some other things that have helped me get things done despite the fact that my brain is a chaos muppet:
Junebugging. This is a strategy where you jump from task to task until everything gets done. So maybe I'll start by wanting to make my bed. But then I'll notice that next to my bed is my nightstand, and there's an empty wrapper on it. So I'll put the wrapper in the trash, and realize the trash needs to be taken out. So I'll put on my shoes and take the trash out, and when I get back in, I'll take off my shoes and want to put on my slippers. I'll go get my slippers in my room and see that my bed needs to get made, so I'll go make the bed. It's perhaps not the most efficient method of getting things done, but my brain was never going to be able to take the most efficient route. This way, the wrapper gets taken off the nightstand, the trash gets taken out, I get my slippers, and the bed gets made. This method is just about getting stuff done, even if it's not necessarily what you set out to do.
Do it how you'll get it done. Kind of going along with junebugging, it's important for people who struggle with executive dysfunction to let go of the way that things "should" get done. Our brains usually aren't going to do things the way they "should" do them, and so it's better to work with our brains instead of against them. If brushing your teeth in the shower is the way your teeth are going to get brushed, who cares if you're not brushing your teeth at the sink. Find the strategies that work for you and run with them, regardless of what other people do.
Keep items where you use them, and buy multiples if you need to. I have a water bottle, a trash can, and cleaning wipes in every part of my house where I regularly sit, because that's where I'll be when I want to use them. Putting things where they're used reduces the "friction" of the task- instead of having to get up, go get the item, and then use it, you just have to use it.
Build good habits if you can. Habits can be hard to form for people with executive dysfunction, but there's really helpful once they're solidified. For a few weeks, I kept repeating to myself "don't put it down, put it away" any time I had an item in my hand. Now I habitually put things away, and I lose items much less frequently. Another habit that's really helped me is cleaning up one thing every time I leave a room- so maybe I'll put something in the trash can, or take something with me from the room I'm in to the room it's supposed to be in. This has helped me to keep things much tidier than they used to be.
Make things novel, interesting, or fun. When in doubt, a good way to get our brains to do something is to try and make it fun. Hate brushing your teeth? Buy a cute toothbrush and a novelty toothpaste flavor, put on some music, brush with your opposite hand, and see how many squats you can do before the song ends. It might look ridiculous, but if it gets you to brush your teeth, it's worth it. On the simpler side, changing up how my Notion dashboard looks keeps me excited to use it because it feels new, so I try to give it a new vibe every few months. You can even turn tasks into games- how many dishes can you wash before the microwave beeps? Now it's interesting and fun instead of something you're obligated to do.
Ask for help when you need it. It's okay to rely on other people to keep you going. For example, try having a friend sit on FaceTime with you while you're doing the task. This is called "body doubling" and it's really helpful for getting things done, even if the person isn't helping you with the task.
There's also some great advice here that I recommend checking out, not just for ADHD and executive dysfunction but also for people who struggle with anxiety and depression.

My first month in Plzeň
27.09.2023
Hello there! :D
I don’t really know how to start at this point, but maybe it’s good to introduce myself first. My name is Laila, I’m 18 years old and was born in Halle (Saale), where I also have been living my whole life – until now, because for the next year I will stay here in Plzeň to do my volunteering year in TOTEM.
I’ve read many of the blogs by the people who’ve been here before me and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I was impressed by the different experiences everyone made even though we all do nearly the same here.  And that is great, because they all had their - and I will have my individual year in Plzeň, without any comparison to the volunteers before.
And I know it sounds crazy but I’ve learned so much already and have also developed a lot in the few weeks I've been here.
I can remember coming to Plzeň on the 31st of August and immediately falling in love with the city, its buildings, the variety of pubs and cafés and of course the Czech language, which I am deeply motivated to learn. But what else got me instantly were the atmosphere, because even though Plzeň has less inhabitants than my hometown, there was a lot more going on in the city, which probably had to do with Busking-Festival that took place at my arrival. The centre was filled with people, there were different dance groups, musicians and other performances and I can definitely remember thinking “I will find my place and will feel at home here for sure.”
The next day (Friday, 1st of September) I visited TOTEM for the first time and was warmly welcomed by my coordinator Ivona and many other employers like our receptionist Kateřina, my favourite cleaning fairy Dagmar as well as the funny hausmajstr Standa and the best Finanční manažerka Daniela. At the same day I met Dita for the first time in person and while talking about some organizational things among other topics I immediately knew that I can come to her and Ivona at any time in case I have concerns or problems during my stay in TOTEM - That felt very good!
But to be honest it was also a bit hard to hear that Dita hasn’t found a Spanish girl for the project and so to imagine that I would be the first volunteer in TOTEM staying there without another person. After my parents left on Saturday I had my first night in my flat and at that point I just felt alone and wasn’t sure if I could settle in. I thought about whether it would be easier to live in the centre with all the city-life going on around me, maybe in a shared apartment with nice people I can talk to and suddenly I got lost in chains of thoughts, which of course didn't make the whole situation any better.
But I promised myself not to give up so soon and to try to see the positive in- and an end of any bad situation. And contrary to my first expectations the following days felt much better already. I met my mentor Irena, with whom I got along very well straight away despite the age difference and who was also a great help to me as a kind of personal interpreter ;D. Moreover I enjoyed my first days at work. The tasks like creating riddles for the Pilsen magazine where very fun and I also had the chance to meet Lenka, Martin, Helena and Maru as we were together at the “Dětský den v Borském parku” (event on the first day of school).  My first week was exciting and included a spontaneous salsa evening, many coffee dates with Maren, the new friend I made, which was in the same situation as me being new in a city she had never been to before.  I also visited the forest and lakes in Bolevec for the first time and looking back I don’t know why it took me so long to finally decide going there - probably because I was scared of being there “alone” but when I enjoyed my iced coffee at the Kamenný rybník with the sun shining at my face and a good book in my hand I got so happy that I forgot all the negative thoughts I had in the beginning. I realised that it’s much better to live near the forest, where you can go to whenever you feel overwhelmed or simply need time to breath, to reflect and to escape reality in some kind of way, while having everything I need around me from supermarket to drugstore to a nice restaurant. And if I want to have a good coffee, a chat with a friend and want to watch a movie in the cinema or buy a new peace in one of the second hand shops in the city centre I just take the tram to be there in 15 minutes or go by bike. And even though I thought that I would need distance from work to be able to separate job and private life I discovered the advantage of living literally 1 minute away from your desk and having the possibility to cook your lunch freshly in your flat, sleeping a bit longer if you need to and even when you’re not working, having the bustle from activities at TOTEM in your ear so that you always feel like something is going on around you.
So I really did what I promised myself in the beginning- I kept going no matter what!  And I can tell you that the last weeks have been incredibly good. I was able to participate in different activities of TOTEM, met the ladies in the dance group “Adeto”, travelled to Prague, where I’ve made three new friends that want to visit Plzeň (and me of course ;D) soon. I started my Czech lessons which are going very well so far and I had a lot of facetime calls with friends and family members talking about all the things I experienced so far and telling them how happy and grateful I feel at the moment.
But if I went into details about everything that have happened here so far, there would be 10 more pages following.
So let’s set a dot here – for now! Because next month I'll be back with some news from my life and, because you'll only hear stories from me for the coming year, I'll try to make this blog as entertaining as possible. So look forward to exciting updates from TOTEM, wonderful and impressive travel stories and scandalous celebrity encounters ;D. Okay, maybe that’s a bit over the top but I've definitely got quite a lot planned even though I don’t think that I go too far when I say that Plzeň has a lot to offer and that my journey has just begun...

Hello! Can I ask headcanons about being Inarizaki manager?
A/N: Hi there and of course you can! You’re my first Haikyuu anon so I hope this lived up to your expectations! I also gave your request a little backstory so you’ll hopefully enjoy this! (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Tumblr media
bearing the title of Inarizaki’s manager was no easy task, in fact, it was pretty tiring and demanded a lot from the person who owned it
or at least that’s what a lot of the failed applicants claimed
it was no secret that the volleyball team organized a test period that lasted a week for each participant and rumor has it that no one has ever made it past day three
there were a lot of people from your class mostly girls that had tried their luck and were overly-confident that they’d be chosen, but right after being failed they never mentioned the volleyball club again
you on the other hand were genuinely interested in the manager position and after contemplating whether or not to apply, with the amount of support you got from your family, friends and teachers you finally found the courage to write your name on the waiting list
unfortunately for your nerves the applicants before you failed way too quickly and before you knew it, your turn had come
a young friendly-looking man with dark and spikey hair came to your classroom on a Monday morning to tell you all the details concerning the club activity later this afternoon
you listened to him attentively, trying to memorize every single detail he told you, but he must’ve noticed how nervous you were because he suddenly stopped mid-sentence
“I’m sorry, you must surely think I’m super rude for not introducing myself first before I bombarded you with all those information. My name’s Akagi and I’m Inarizaki’s libero, it’s a pleasure to meet you!”
now that you were more relaxed the two of you wrapped your chat up and bid each other goodbye before you returned to your classroom and waited for your first class to start
.
all those rumors about the team giving off an entirely different aura than anyone else in school was truly no exaggeration
the moment you entered the gym the prevalent tension alone was enough to make you rethink your plans, but before you could do anything a gentle voice spoke out to you
“Are you this week’s manager candidate?”
when you turned around to see who had asked you that question, you saw a tall young man with a darker skin tone smile down at you
you affirmed his question, introducing yourself with the same nervous tone from before, and fortunately, he as well showed you an equal amount of sympathy as Akagi
“I know that it must be quite overwhelming, but you really shouldn’t worry too much about it. You know I’m actually not supposed to give you any tips, but...out of everyone who walked in here you look the most promising so...just be yourself!”
and with that, the two of you walked towards the rest of his teammates so that you could finally introduce yourself to them
truth be told you expected some kind of long interrogation process and nosy questions, but they paid you good to no attention and just introduced themselves briefly
when they went back to practice their moves the captain stayed behind and asked you some general questions such as how much experience you have with volleyball and if you’re busy during the weekends
after everyone went to go and change, you stayed behind to help some of the substitute players out with cleaning the gym floors and dirty balls when Kita joined you with the cleanup
he must’ve noticed your surprised face since after just a short while he spoke up
“Please pay me no mind, I do these things quite often, so this won’t be the last time my actions will surprise you.”
“Do you do these things out of...obligation?”
the other club members were quite surprised by your sudden question, but it made the light-grey haired young man crack a smile as he told you that he was simply used to doing things the right and proper way
his remark seemed of low importance at that time, but his reasoning still stuck with you, and unbeknownst to you it helped you out quite a bit
.
the second day passed similar to the first one, but with the only exception that you were allowed to help out with the warming-up exercises
while everyone stretched you were finally able to get a better look at the members and you even took some notes on which exercise they did, which position they played in most frequently, and how they behaved towards their teammates
you used the moment they benched you to go over everything you learned today and needless to say there were a few very noticeable personalities that might need more time to befriend than Aran or Akagi
the first two that stood out were the Miya twins
everyone in school knew them for their constant fights amongst each other, but seeing them play and fight up close was an entirely different experience
they randomly screamed at each other when some tactic didn’t work out how they’d imagined it, but all things considered, they made a great and powerful duo
it also didn’t take you long to tell them apart look wise as well as characterwise which facilitated your notes about them
Suna was the third person you’d have to look out for and pay very close attention to
judging from his playstyle he was quite the troublesome opponent
according to some of the players who sat close to you, he was able to manipulate the blockers to jump right where he wanted them to and some of that manipulation skills even stayed with him beyond the game and made out a big part of his personality
but on a more positive note, he also had a more fun side to him
he noticed surprisingly quick if someone wasn’t in a good mood and depending on how long he’d known them he was also able to cheer them up, but this special service heavily relied on his current mood
as for the rest of the members, they seemed friendly enough and as time passed you were confident that they’d accept you in their circle of friends
.
..
the rest of the week passed by in a flash and before you knew it the last day of your “manager exam” had arrived
you were nervous as well as quite afraid that you might not have provided them with the service they needed or wished for, but the confident grins on Aran’s and Akagi’s faces managed to reassure your beating heart
everyone waited for Kita to arrive and with each passing minute you felt like you would pass out
and after what felt like an eternity he finally entered the gym with a black duffle bag and headed straight toward you
he handed you the bag without saying anything, it was after you had taken the small bundle into your hands that he spoke up, a small smile spreading across his facial features
“We’ve tested you throughout this entire week and I’m pretty sure not every single task we entrusted you with was pleasant, but you still held out and did everything the right and proper way...thank you and with this, I’d like to welcome you as Inarizaki’s first and official manager.“
it took you a short while to comprehend just what had happened and while you were still looking at the captain like a lost lamb the rest of the members surrounded and congratulated you
the person who brought you back from your daydream was Atsumu, who tightly wrapped his arms around you in a congratulatory hug
you were quite surprised since up until now he was rather well-behaved and didn’t concern himself so much with you except the usual ‘thank yous’, ‘hellos’ and ‘good evenings’ a club member would give his piers
your bewilderment must’ve been quite evident since someone pulled the blond giant away from you with a sigh
and that someone was no other than his twin brother Osamu who whispered a small apology to you and began to lecture him
“What’s it to ya ‘Samu? Ain’t it ‘bout time we dropped that whole act?”
before they could confuse you more than you already were, Ren placed his big hand on your shoulder giving you a somewhat awkward smile that was meant to console you
Hitoshi joined you two and explained how the team always had to show each candidate the cold shoulder in order to make sure that all applicants were aware of the fact that being the VBC’s manager didn’t mean partying around and chatting up a storm with the members
I see was all you could answer to that rather absurd rule they had come up with
.
..
your first day as the official manager didn’t vary that much from what you had seen during your test week, but at least now you were properly talking with all of the members
needless to say, you also became this day’s conversation topic number one
wherever you walked people would whisper amongst each other how you were the chosen one despite so many applicants
some of your classmates though had the audacity to doubt that you had won the guys over in a legitimate way and made no effort to hide their baseless accusations by speaking unnaturally loud when they were near you
it did bother you a little, but you decided to ignore their envious attempts to get you mad, sad, or whatever their goal was and dedicate yourself to getting to know your club members better...
.
the first few weeks you spent on getting to know the members’ skills as well as their personalities better than what you had seen already in the past week
and before you knew it, you had become not only an essential and precious part of the team but also an irreplaceable friend and companion to each of them
you made sure to help the two captains out as much as you could, but you didn’t only do it out of obligation but because you felt bad for leaving these two - especially Kita - alone with all important tasks
oddly enough a powerful team like theirs didn’t have an advisor so most organizational tasks fell on their shoulders
Kita as dutiful and thorough as he was always tackled the tasks the moment they were given to him so neither Aran nor you ever had the chance to volunteer as helpers
one day though you accepted the assignments before him and distributed them amongst the three of you as equally as you could, whereas you took on a slightly bigger portion since you were their manager
you also made sure that Kita didn’t stay behind until all the streetlights turned on and so it became a tradition for you to join him and Aran on their way back home
during those walks, you got extremely close with them and since they often discussed training and club-related matters, you were also able to learn additional things as well as plan the players’ training regimen for the following days
when you weren’t by their side, you either warmed the bench alongside the other substitute players or tried to help Hitoshi tame the two brothers
you were aware of their regular disputes and had already witnessed one yourself, but back then the team had helped resolve it so you weren’t needed
and now that they had finally found a manager, they reverted back to their habitual behavior: ignore and enjoy their dispute, film it or just look for Kita to resolve the issue
you on the other hand took it upon yourself to play the mediator and started by stopping Suna from recording or taking a photo of them
needless to say, he wasn’t very happy when you confiscated his phone, but after you explained to him that you were simply worried that as heated as the siblings were they’d one day drag him into their fight, he proposed you a deal
“Let me take at least five photos and two videos before I help with calming them down.“
your eyes narrowed as you took on a very confident pose which made it pretty obvious that you weren’t going to back down from his attempt to bargain with you
“Two photos and one video.“
“Make it three.”
“Denied. You either settle for two photos and one video or nothing at all...take it or leave it Suna.”
as much as he wanted to protest, your smug grin made him yield in the end
next up were the taller and more intimidating-looking players who’d usually stand by and laugh or sigh
“Are you really ok with the whole school making fun of our club and treating it like some kind of fighting club just because of these two dunces?”
they were quite surprised at your sudden question but weren’t as taken aback as you when they immediately headed for the gym doors to shoo away all onlookers
as for the troublesome siblings you usually stood between them the moment you sensed that they were about to fight
they’d still try to somehow either pinch the other or slap his backside and you at first tolerated it, but after a while, it just got too distracting and annoying so you straight out took hold of each of their hands and wordlessly glared at them
that method started a new trend and now their teammates constantly teased them for being your children and how funny it was to look at their embarrassed faces while you on the other hand showed no reaction whatsoever
you didn’t expect that sort of outcome, but as long as it stopped their fighting it was worth it
.
as their manager, you were also put in charge of organizing training matches as well as signing them up for tournaments and nationals (with the help of the coaches and captains of course)
your first training match was quite exciting and you were surprised at the number of people that came to see it
the guys were almost always in their top form when they played so you rarely had to worry about their health condition and that took quite the weight from your shoulders
even if someone showed the slightest symptoms of a cold or anything of that sorts, Kita and you would instantly be there and get the player to go home and rest
you knew that some of them hated being sick since it meant that they’d miss out on practice and saw it as some kind of betrayal towards the team
Atsumu was one of these types of people and he was the heaviest case out of all of them
so you made sure to drop by the twins’ house after club activities ended and cheer him up, by changing the cloth on his forehead, cutting some apples for him, or just being there to keep him company
after that Osamu would always insist on bringing you home since the sun had already set
the two of you would always talk about the most random things, but sometimes your conversations got quite serious and personal
in fact, you were the first person he shared his future plans with, saying that he could trust you with keeping it a secret
as for the nationals...
your first one was very overwhelming
the gym was so enormous that it outshined any other gym you had visited with them
it was no secret that the entire ambiance intimidated you and the moment you saw their personal cheering squad you couldn’t help but freeze-up
you had heard that their cheering squad was like no other and that it even rivaled that of many other powerhouse schools, but much like other rumors you had dismissed it
...until now
“Impressive isn’t it?” Ren asked to which you just nodded
but you noticed quickly just how much of an effect their audience had during the match
their steady and powerful rhythms managed to not only motive your team but also discompose your opponents
what surprised you the most was how the older gentlemen in the crowd didn’t hold back on their snide remarks when someone made a mistake or didn’t play seriously
after each match, all of you had come up with small rituals you’d do
depending on the outcome of the game you’d either throw a small party to commemorate their victory or try to cheer them up with a motivational speech followed by a  movie night
all in all, you truly came to love volleyball, as well as your team and each of its members, and they did too
they were truly happy to have won such a dependable and caring manager like yourself
the entire team always made sure to celebrate your birthday and go all out on your presents as well as on the party they’d organize for you
all of them always made sure to return your kindness with double the effort and love you had given them
you were sick?
no problem, every day two members would visit you and take turns in taking care of your needs until you were healthy
you were sad?
they’d buy you your favorite snacks, cook you your favorite meal, rent your favorite movie and then knock on your front door, demanding to be let in
...and so on
they had become something like your second family and you didn’t even dare imagine a scenario where you didn’t apply for the position of the manager
the same goes for them, they had given up the hope to find someone who manages their team, but the moment you had entered the gym they almost instantly knew that you’d be the one to take them to victory
and they were right...

qualifications and skills you need to become  a graphic designer.
“All graphic designers need to be proficient in Adobe's Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator software. Most graphic designers need an understanding of HTML and other web design applications. You can further solidify your credibility as a graphic designer if you have evidence showing your expertise in print design, photography and organizational branding.”
“If you want to work for a large company and earn a bigger pay check, a bachelor’s degree in graphic design is the ticket. When you pursue a college degree, you learn about colour and design fundamentals, motion graphics, traditional typography, digital illustration, webpage scripting, business graphic design and webpage design. Many programs offer internships to help ground your learning in practical application. Building a portfolio of your work is essential. In college, you can do this by using class assignments to represent your skills. If you don’t go to college, generate examples or volunteer with local organizations to build samples of your work.”
“Experience is everything in this profession. As you interview for graphic communications jobs or vie for an independent contract, a portfolio that represents your work is critical. The breadth of your work will be represented in the portfolio and by clients that hire you. Consider building a website that displays your work and skills in the graphic communications field.”
the salary roughly can vary from 30k to 40k + which is extremely good pay if you wanna work in the graphic design as it something  that some people aspire to do. Graphic design was the focus point of this topic, I'm not sure if i want to pursue a graphic design pathway into the creative industries. I'm more leaning towards being a free lance artist.  Though the skills i have learnt this term in photoshop would help me become a graphic designer if i so chose to be one even though we have only learnt the basics if i were to continue i would most likely be well equipped to get a degree in university and go onto becoming a graphic designer.
Freelance artist
“A freelance artist is a contractor for hire in the field of art. He or she may work in any medium, but most freelancers work in graphic fields such as illustration, design, or photography. Freelance artists are not in the employ of a single company or organization, but hire their talents out to various clients. Many are self-employed, though some work with agencies or with a small group of regular clients. The field of freelance art can be both more challenging and more fulfilling than standard salaried jobs.”
“A freelance artist must be a highly self-motivated person, as he or she must effectively run a business as well as handle artistic tasks. Like all artists, freelancers must have innate talent backed by knowledge of popular artistic trends and styles. The freelance artist should have a highly flexible style that can be applied to a variety of assignments. Patience and people skills are also assets, as some clients may not know exactly what they want or may not be able to express their desires clearly.”
“The most important tool of the freelance artist is the portfolio. This is a collection of the artist’s best and most representative work, assembled in a professional package for potential clients to view. Traditionally, a portfolio was just that: a large case containing a variety of sample prints. In the 21st century, artists can use websites to display their portfolios and woo clients. They should keep traditional portfolios as well, however, as some clients will see this as a mark of true professionalism.”
i would want to be able to be a freelance artist as i feel i am very self motivated especially when it comes to project's i really enjoy that involve paintings coloured pencil work, graphic work and printmaking. A lot of these skills have been developed in class and outside of class in my spare time especially print making as i have learnt and enjoyed doing that as previously i couldn't  do print making of any kind at home.  I also love trying and learning new things which is what we did on this project it was out of my comfort zone and i felt i had to really to adapt and learn a new set of skills to which i hadn't previously used.

What about SF Sans with a chubby SO in his shirt? It's tight but the SO still likes his shirt! And what about if the SO has anxiety, paranoia, and depression? (Those go so bad together...)
Black had always kept everything in his closet immaculate, from the organization of the colors to sections for everything. Of course, most of what was in his closet were things that needed hangers, but his wardrobe sufficed for the rest of his clothing. T-shirts, jeans, undergarments, and more were kept neatly tucked away in the drawers, ready to be worn when he didn't need a pressed outfit. Now, however, his organizational system was failing him.
“WHERE THE HELL DID I PUT IT?? IT SHOULD BE RIGHT HERE!” he growled to himself, setting aside folded shirts to dig around in the drawer with more ease. “I DON’T KNOW WHERE IT’S GONE TO, AND I KNOW THAT RUS HASN’T BEEN IN HERE IN AGES, SO WHERE..?”
The shirt in question was one of his older shirts, the first one he ever purchased for himself on the Surface at Rus’ prompting. It was simple enough in design, a basic black t-shirt with a white feather design across the right breast. A shirt like that was subtle enough for near everyday wear but just nice enough that it wasn’t trashy. Paired with the right jeans and jacket, and Black would dare say that he looked reasonably stylish. As an added bonus, it was almost as soft as an actual feather.
As he dug through his drawers, still grumbling to himself, he turned his mind to other things, mainly the reason why he was looking in the first place. Tomorrow was a special date that you had wanted to set up with him, and as per usual, he asked what the attire would be. As a lucrative business consultant, Black could have taken you to see Paris, the Coliseum, or the Himalayas for a weekend if he really wanted to. However, you insisted that this was a more casual date, and so he felt it was only appropriate to wear his favorite shirt for his favorite person.
Now that he was thinking about it, Black let his mind wander to you as his phalanges sought out the fabric. You had been a challenge in your own way to catch, and for that, he was oddly grateful. When the two of you met, it was because he was coming into a coffee shop to grab something for a client and himself. Black had a meeting scheduled for a slightly less formal client at a less formal place, and this coffee shop was just the perfect place to chat.
When you had walked in, four minutes before his client had, Black instantly noticed several things about you. You were clutching your wallet tightly, money already partly drawn, and you dared not make eye contact with anyone around you. It was almost suspicious, and if not for the fact that you appeared unarmed and that you already had cash in hand, he might have thought that you were going to rob the shop. The entire time you were ordering, you stammered through it, then barely managed to get the cash down before scurrying away from the counter.
Black had kept an eye socket on you the whole time he was with his client, and you stuck yourself in a quiet corner to enjoy whatever spoils you had gotten. After his meeting had finished, he turned a more attentive gaze on you, hoping to glean more information. You had been biting your nails recently, it seemed, and your sleep was somewhat off-kilter, but your coffee was helping you to get better. The work uniform, partially covered by a large, comfy cardigan, was for a nearby supermarket and you looked stressed.
Before you had left, there was something you left on the table, which appeared to be a phone, and the skeleton was quick to bring it back to you. After that, he had tried to talk with you more, but you seemed much less inclined to try and get back in touch with him. It was frustrating, as he was putting in all the effort to try and reach out and you weren’t responding in the slightest. When he received a call at one in the morning, however, he realized a lot was going on in your head he had never known.
Evidently, you had severe clinical depression and anxiety, coupled with paranoia that had grown with taking on your job. Someone had robbed the supermarket you had worked at twice, once with you facing down the barrel of a gun and the second time with you merely observing, giving you added stress. All of your symptoms had flared after that second robbery, and now you were less than responsive. Black immediately changed his tune from being upset with you to more understanding, and from there, the friendship began to grow.
When the skeleton finally realized that he liked you, he struggled to bring it up to you. With all that was going on with your mind, not to mention the stresses of your job, there was no way you would take this well. He was sure you would stress and think he was just kidding, but he wanted to date you so badly it almost hurt.
As predicted, once he laid out his feelings for you, you had stood there, mouth agape and confusion in your eyes. He was quick to reassure you that he was willing to take things slowly, as slow as you needed them to be. It took a full week for you to respond to what he wanted, giving him the yes that he didn’t know was essential to his life until you spoke it into being. From there, the two of you had been on multiple dates, and he had slowly started to break down a few insecurities you had. Your body, as soft and squishy as it was, was not “disgusting” to him, as you had put it on one day. You were not annoying him with questions about his job. Above all, yes, he does love you.
A creak in the doorway catches Black out of his thoughts, and he turns slightly to glance over his shoulder to see your silhouette. Only four weeks ago you had finally moved into his house with him, and he couldn’t have been happier. The two of you were still getting used to living in the same house, but Black was more than glad to have you there.
“AH, HELLO, MY PRECIOUS DATEMATE,” he called to you, turning back to the task at hand. “HAVE YOU HAPPENED TO SEE WHERE MY SHIRT WENT? THE ONE WITH THE FEATHER. I WAS HOPING TO WEAR IT TOMORROW FOR OUR DATE, AND I SEEM TO HAVE MISPLACED IT.”
A quiet sniffle answered his question, and he whipped around so fast that a few of his bones creaked in protest. You were wearing his shirt, as snug as it was on your body, and now you were in tears. He was on his feet in an instant, coming over to hold you close and comfort you, shushing you softly.
“I-I’m sorry,” you stammered quietly into the front of his shirt, your hands bunching up the material. “I didn’t know you wanted to wear this for tomorrow or I would have left it where it was. I was just, I-I got really upset, and this reminded me of you, and I wanted something to help me feel better.” Your voice trailed off, thick with tears as you tried to explain, and Black gently wiped the tears from your face.
“HUSH,” he commanded gently, letting his bones rest on your face a little longer than was probably necessary, soaking in the warmth of your skin. “IF I WERE UPSET WITH YOU, WHICH I AM NOT, YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN IMMEDIATELY. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO WEAR THIS, JUST AS I WOULD BE. IN FACT, I THINK IT LOOKS BETTER ON YOU THAN YOU COULD EVER THINK IT WOULD.”
A lovely little blush warmed your cheeks as you started to protest, but Black quieted you with a gentle kiss. His hands traveled down to rest on your waist and tugged you closer to him. For a moment, he simply stood there, holding and kissing you, enjoying the feel of your soft body against his own. When the kiss broke apart, you indeed appeared to feel at least a little better.
“COME ON,” Black hummed, a smile beginning to pull at his mouth. “LET’S GO AND GET DINNER READY. I THINK WE CAN HAVE A MOVIE NIGHT TONIGHT ON THE COUCH SO THAT WE CAN SNUGGLE TOGETHER.”
You smiled warmly at him, and for a moment, the world just seemed to be right.

Let’s talk about regrets
No regrets!
It was my philosophy in life back before the Enhanced Community Quarantine. I grew up to have this kind of mindset and took the meaning literally. Just treat everything as something that must occur in life. I had the notion that all of the opportunities I gave up were not for me, and the timing wasn’t right. It was meant to pass me by. It is because it aims to give me an idea of what is waiting for me in the future. Those opportunities will come back when the right time comes. The ECQ period changed that.
There were numerous organizations I joined and belonged to before. All had helped me to grow as a person. However, there were two organizations that I regret leaving. I regret that I didn’t cherish the growth potential that they offered. I always wanted to help my family in any way that I can. This, coupled with personal frustrations, led to a chain of poor decisions.
I was full of myself back then. I always believed that potential and talent were enough. I thought that through the brief period that I stayed there, I was already capable of many difficult challenges ahead. I came to realize, I was not. I learned the hard way and had gone through situations I never dreamed of. I built the right first impression but didn’t sustain it with the proper behavior. The ending was I ended up with nothing.
The first organization was where I should have stayed for at least a year or two. Maybe three years would be better, but those were something I cannot go back. That organization accepted me for who I was, even if I cannot accept who I really am at that time. My boss was the type of leader I always admire, and after the challenges she had gone through, I admired her even better.
I probably had the best colleagues in the L&D team. We compensated for each other's weaknesses. Being with them felt that I was not working, but was simply enjoying an activity. It was there where I experienced being valued and being appreciated for what I do. I never felt that I was lacking with skills because the team augmented and helped me developed new skills. We also had one of the best consultants ever and a management team that really listened to the organizational needs. I felt that I really flourished in that organization, which was evidenced by an employee award and a good performance appraisal score. They even opened up an opportunity for me to become part of a second organization. More of that later.
However, I encountered a handful of problems months before my first year of staying there. I need to have a better income flow because of a family problem. That was the time when I thought that shifting my priority from career growth to better compensation started. I lost my passion for what I was doing because I felt that I was given less than what I deserve. Knowing that the company was just starting to flourish, it cannot give me what I needed at that time. I was in the inner circle of the second organization at that time. I thought that through network and mentorship, I can succeed. As I turned one year in Paramount, I left.
Looking back, leaving prematurely from that organization cost me a lot of burdens later on in life. I gradually lost the confidence that I had because the load that I took, later on, was more than what I can really deliver. The moment I stepped out from that organization, my misfortunes started to pile up. I lost grasp of who I was because I was overtaken by pride. I thought, during that moment, that I did the right thing, but three years later, I realized that I didn’t. It was one of the worst decisions that I made. I was toppled by my emotions, and I succumbed to pressure. If I can turn back the clock of time, I would have stayed. I would have tried side-hustling. I might be better tenfold times than who I am now, as a professional, and as a person. I regret losing the opportunity to grow with genuine people that are really concerned for me, especially my boss, Ma’am Karin.
Paramount introduced me to my idol, Sir Sonnie, and later on, to the whole HR mentoring community. This community was the second organization that I regret taking for granted. It was where my growth was fast-tracked. I was exposed to different people that acknowledged me as an HR professional. It was there where I met new and genuine people, that I squandered. It was there where I met mentors, who I, unconsciously, took advantage of.
The community’s goal was to develop everyone holistically through blended learning and mentorship. At first, I felt that I was really blessed to be part of the group. I really dedicated myself to polishing my craft but was fueled with the wrong perspective. I thought of being in the community was just an episode of my life. I saw it as something that I need to do because my whole career was anchored on it. I already left Paramount, and my further endeavors didn’t help me grow the right way. I took the gamble, and at the back of my head, the community is a stepping stone to become better.
I was immature at that time and was just starting to experience the freedom of having a stable and adequate financial condition. I traded learning for non-valuable activities. I also became arrogant as time goes by. I rubbed people the wrong way. I was too excited for advancement but wasn’t ready to lay down hard work and dedication. For me, career advancement means money, and for someone who grew up poor, that meant the whole world. That time, I became selfish and greedy. I changed as a person, and my moral compass became lax as days went by. I came to the point that I just wanted to receive without giving back. I loathed doing the simple tasks because I think I deserve better. As I write this, I feel embarrassed and repentant of my immaturity and self-entitlement.
The community gave me a lot of different opportunities to better myself. It understood my hunger for growth. The best came when I was selected to be part of DISTINCT. (Directorate for Strategic Innovation and Continuous Improvement) It was a select group of individuals that Sir Sonnie chose to perform strategic functions for the organization. It offered different platforms for growth, but because of some sort of problems, I let it go again.
As time passed by, I pursued a different direction that led me to disappear almost completely. My connections in the community gradually weakened. My community brothers and sisters slowly became acquaintances. I fell out of the inner circle. I thought it was okay. I believed that it was just an episode of my life that I must move forward.
The ECQ transformed me in a way I never expected. I think that solitude can really help us know ourselves better. It helped me gain new perspectives. It helped me look back at my life objectively and with a much clearer lens. It helped me to become a bit more mature. It also helped me to accept who I am, along with my past foolishness and immaturity. It is the inertia that I needed to try and turn my life around.
Now, I can easily say that leaving Paramount was the first foolish decision I ever made. And taking LODI (HR Mentoring Community) for granted is the worst thing I had done. These are my biggest regrets in my career and are some of the most remorseful mistakes I committed in my personal life. I also come to terms to admit that these decisions sent me down spiral. And these events are the price that I need to pay for the choices I made and the lessons I learned after.
I might have the compensation that I desired and have helped my family. I had solved my short-term goals, and I am thankful for that. But if I will be given a chance to redo it all over again, I will choose a different path. Indeed, regret is always in the end, and opportunities do come and go.
Living a life having No Regrets must not be taken literally. Everyone must have regrets in a way or another because all of us made bad decisions. It is the sign that we grew from our past and learned from our mistakes. It must be acknowledged if we want to grow and move forward. It might be remorseful and embarrassing to remember. But it's a definite and powerful reminder of what to improve and what to avoid.
However, do not dwell on regrets too much. We cannot turn back the clock and undo things, just like the movies. In this period in our history, our mental health is of utmost importance. Focusing on our regrets and never moving forward will stop us from progressing in our lives. It is good to take a break and think through, but it's never okay to remain in that episode of our life. Our past will never define our limitations, and our mistakes don't tell the totality of who we are.
In the end, we are in charge of our life, and we are the ones who create opportunities. And if we blew it up, we must acknowledge it and learn from it. Only then that we can say that we lived a life of no regrets.

Narrative Writing
The Best Success I Ever Had
-Clay Atchedera
Everyone of us has different stories to tell about life experiences. We have a lot of moments that are unforgettable. One of the best experiences that I would like to share is, "The Best Success I Ever Had". It is a true-to-life story that tells us about a particular success. Success is the term that we often say when we feel free from any burdens that we face while achieving our dreams or else when we survive in a day-to-day life challenges. I hope you'll like my story. ☺️
HAPPY READING!
Hello! I'm Clarisse Abrina Atchedera, 18 years old and currently a Senior High student of Concepcion National High School. I'm a shy type of person and not really friendly. I love music but I can't sing. I like dancing but I'm not so good at it. I am always writing my everyday experiences to express my feelings and thoughts about the experiences I have in every day. Writing is what makes me more stronger because I can express there my happiness, sadness or even anger or doubts. Actually, I'm really tired with my daily routine. I am going to school early then going home after class and doing house chores but I don't have any time for hangouts because my parents are very strict plus the fact that I am facing struggles in my subjects especially in Practical Research 1. Going back to the first day of school, I was very excited to go to school because I would met there again my classmates and friends. Yeah, I missed them so! I woke up early to prepare myself and on my way to school I met my friends, we hugged each other, took a picture and we walked together with much talk and loud laughs. I thought we’re like little kids who were playing in the street. We were so noisy. Everyone had a lot to talk with each other as if we don’t meet for over 50 years? We enjoyed talking about our vacation experiences. The first subject we took was Practical Research 1 where the teacher told that we have to form groups for conducting research. The teacher assigned leader for each group and I was shocked when the teacher called my name. I was assigned as a leader of Group 7, I don’t know what should I do or what I should think at that time instead I felt my cheeks warm and I thought I was blushing not because I was amazed with that matter but because I thought it was a great responsibility and hard role was given to me. Actually, I was speechless but I saw my group mates glad and smiling at me. They told me that they were excited to made research with me. My whole day becomes heavy and I felt disgrace about what happened. But as I was taking my coffee at home because I arrived early at home now, I realized that there were challenges that were going along our way as we were having the journey of our life. I thought I must be thankful with the opportunity of leading for me to have experience about leadership and have to accept that challenge. As time goes by, I made it to handle my responsibilities as a leader and I found that my members were cooperative and they were very active in doing our research. I don’t felt any stress when we were doing the research instead I was happy when we were doing the research because my members were very good to accompany and I enjoyed each day that we were together in doing our tasks.
And now, I find myself reminiscing those moments in first day of school while I’m sitting on a bench at the shade of cashew tree beside our room. Our first subject was Practical Research 1, the teacher get inside. I walk into the room with full of nervous because this is the final defence for our research. I am still waiting for my members because they’re not yet around I feel more uncomfortable and worried. We have a time limit for the presentation of our research so I am worrying that if they don’t come early then we might be failed on the presentation. It’s the first time that they were late, bur my spirit awakens when I see them coming along the hallway. I’m very thankful that they come as the defence do not yet starting.
When our presentation comes, I’m the first one who entered into the defence room and as I see the panelists, my heart beats faster and louder. This is my first time to make this defence but I’m not sure what will happen as we presents the research we made. I introduced our group as I greeted the panelists first. My nervous get out when I started talking because I feel confident because I see the smile of the panelists that makes me motivated. I stated our title and I proceed to the presentation of every chapters in which I am calling my members who will present the particular part of the research then when they finished, I am summarizing each chapters.
Our presentation lasts 30 minutes and for the last part of it, I give a brief summary of our research and then we accomplished the presentation. I feel free now from stress and nervous because finally, we are done with our Practical Research 1. The panelists give us good comments as they admired the flow of our presentation and they are amazed with the cooperation that we had shown. I feel very proud of my members because they’re the true reason why we succeed in the final defence and I feel confident now.
As we begin to celebrate the happiness that we passed the defence we hug together and we thank each of the panelists. I am really happy because at last, our efforts has been paid back with joy. That’s how I conquer my fear of leading and now, I am will g to lead even not in an organizational because I realised that it is essential to be confident for us to develop our personality. As of now, I am going home with a great smile that shows my success! 😍😍😍

A Night Out - Part 4
Thank you again to all who have supported this story! I hope you enjoy the final installment. I am forever grateful to Birdy and Ginchy for hanging in there with this fic and for helping me add some depth to it.
In the week that followed their night at the club, Trixie couldn’t help but notice a few subtle changes in her colleagues. Shelagh, for one, was displaying a bit more social confidence around the nurses and this had already begun to have a positive effect on their skill as a midwifery team. During an especially complicated labor two days ago, the budding friendship between Shelagh and the three nurses resulted in the absolutely vital abilities not only to communicate non-verbally but also to offer the proper emotional support to both mother and fellow midwives. On the other hand, Shelagh was still the soul of professionalism around Dr Turner, much to Trixie’s disappointment, although she had noticed her making a bit more effort to engage him in conversation. She would have to see if there was an additional something she could do to pave the way for those two; after all, she was nothing if not determined. And speaking of Dr Turner, he had been unusually distracted this week, forgetting to follow up on several inquiries and often appearing like he was lost in his own world with alternatively a mysterious half smile or a melancholy look in his eye. She couldn’t fathom the reason for either, but she vowed to pay closer attention in the hope she might find out.
Trixie, Jenny and Cynthia were delighted when Shelagh began to alter her break time routine; still taking some of her time off on her own, she had joined the nurses for almost half of her free time this week. The foursome were slowly growing closer as Shelagh grew more comfortable, she was letting them in and sharing her own confidences. During some of their talks they even touched on various personal topics of their past and current lives.
Today, Trixie and Shelagh were the first to arrive in the hospital tearoom, saving a table for the rest of their group. Seeing as she had Shelagh on her own for a brief moment, Trixie decided to take the opportunity to work on her matchmaking plan.
“Has Dr Turner agreed to help with the fete?” she asked innocently.
Shelagh looked down at her lap, her cheeks turning a pale pink. “I’m sure he has more important things to do with his time,” she hedged.
“Have you asked him?” Trixie wasn’t going to let her off the hook that easily.
“I… I haven’t had the chance to,” Shelagh waffled.
“Is that so…” Trixie grinned, “not even one chance during any of those tete-a-tetes you’ve shared this week?”
Shelagh’s blush was crimson this time. “Trixie…” she whispered, glancing nervously around her.
“You don’t need to worry Shelagh, no one is paying any attention to little old us,” she laughed.
“Well,” Shelagh continued quietly, “it is true that I have found myself engaged in a few more...discussions with Doctor as of late; but I seem to be feeling more comfortable speaking to everyone on the ward since I’ve become friendly with you and the girls.”
“That’s wonderful! Most of the staff would love to get to know you better; you have a lot to offer as a friend.” she stated earnestly. Then with a mischievous twinkle in her eye she added, “and he is quite handsome.”
Shelagh looked back down at her lap but she couldn’t completely hide the grin she was trying to suppress nor the sparkle in her own eyes. Instead she gave in to both and, with her gaze still downcast, nodded ever so slightly in reply.
Trixie, giddy on the wave of her sleuthing triumph, took pity on her and moved their chat toward a more benign topic.
When Cynthia and Jenny finally appeared, bearing tea and biscuits, Shelagh was sufficiently recovered. The younger nurses gossiped about the latest exploits on each of the more popular wards before Shelagh brought them back to matters concerning the rapidly approaching hospital benefit.
“You’ll be happy to learn that our curate, Reverend Hereward, has agreed to serve as keeper for Beat the Goalie,” Shelagh smiled, directing her comment at Trixie; clearly there was more than one romantic at the table. “We’ll set that up, along with all of the other games, on the far side of the fountain,” she added, gesturing to the square across the road.
Trixie’s eyes lit up as she inquired, “Then may I please request that the tombola is within a good viewing distance?”
“You may,” Shelagh replied primly and made note of it, but her dimples gave her away. “Now Timothy and the Cubs are going to handle the Pick a Lolly, but we could do with some young men at the Tug o‘ War and someone with good organizational skills at the Egg and Spoon Race.”
Jenny volunteered to appeal to the Children’s Ward for junior doctors who might be available for the Tug o’ War, then offered to Cynthia, “If we stop by the dispensary together with a clipboard in hand, we can look official while innocently asking for Egg and Spoon volunteers.” Cynthia blushed, but nodded her agreement.
“Wonderful!” Shelagh beamed, “now before our shift starts back up, do you think we could walk over to the square and plan out where we can fit the rest of the stalls?”
Consent was demonstrated with the scraping of chairs on lino and the gathering up of the remains of their tea. Three nurses headed towards the entrance but Trixie turned in the opposite direction, calling after them, “I’ll meet you there in two ticks, I just need to fetch my jumper.”
As Trixie ran back into the ward for her cardie, she could hear whistling, of all things, coming from Dr Turner’s office. She slowed until she came to a spot where she could just see inside. He stood behind his desk, straightening files and swaying slightly to the rhythm of his tune -- a tune she distinctly recognized.
Catching sight of her, he abruptly stopped whistling, “Nurse Franklin, is there something you require?”
“Oh no, just popping back for my jumper,” she informed him brightly, stepping to the doorway; then because she couldn’t let it pass without comment, “I wouldn’t have taken you for a Caro Emerald fan.”
“Sorry?”
“That song you were whistling, it’s by Caro Emerald.”
“Oh? Haven’t heard of her, must have overheard it somewhere though,” he continued to move files around his desk, appearing rather flustered.
“You know,” she pressed the issue, “a few of us nurses sang that same number at the staff night out last Friday.”
He fidgeted nervously, rubbing his thumb against his forefinger. “Staff night? Oh, right. You sang a song you say?”
Trixie hid a smile; he was a terrible liar. “We sang that very song. Myself along with Nurses Lee, Miller...and Mannion.” She watched him suppress a twitch then swallow with apparent difficulty when she mentioned Shelagh’s name. “In fact,” she went on, “it was Nurse Mannion who chose that particular tune.”
He started to speak, then cleared his throat before continuing nonchalantly, “Did she?”
Trixie turned and spoke over her shoulder as she left, “Indeed, it seems she has a soft spot for one of the doctors here.” Moving back to her original place of concealment, Trixie watched as his face smoothed into a look of peaceful joy. It was short lived, however; in the next moment he sighed and shook his head, as if resigning himself to disbelief, then fell back into his chair and set himself to the task of endless paperwork.
xxxxxxxxxxx
Another Friday night arrived, marking two weeks since Patrick’s clandestine visit to the club and what an agonizing fortnight it had been. He was exhausted by his attempts to hide from the staff that anything had changed, when in fact, for him, everything had. He knew what love was, had been in love before, and this was without a doubt the state he was in. It was definitely not just mere attraction, although that was what had finally brought her to his attention. And that bloody song, he couldn't get it out of his head, let alone the memory of her singing it. His one mistake had been allowing himself to be overheard by Nurse Franklin; but he had avoided her suspicion, he hoped.
His mind had been filled with Nurse Mannion these past handful of days and as a result every aspect of her person had been brought out into the light: her compassion and competent care for their patients, her calm and kind manner with both senior and junior nurses, the passion she displayed in her vocation of service and healing, the time she took for Timothy. Here, it seemed, was the answer to his thoughts and questions of just a few weeks ago. At the time he hadn’t felt ready to seriously consider the possibility nor had he any idea of how to begin again. Yet here she was, and had been, as if waiting for him to reawaken. The bittersweetness of his predicament, however, did not escape him. Each day he looked forward to working with her, finding he enjoyed her humor and skill much more than ever before; yet he knew that was all he could have. Would it become easier to settle for only that small part of her as time went by? He supposed it would have to.
Now, as his evening shift drew to a close, Patrick glanced over at the small couch in his office where Timothy was half asleep, then looked up, surprised to see Nurse Mannion in the doorway. It was no small effort to make sure the butterflies in his stomach created by her appearance were not evident on his face. “May I help you, Nurse?”
“On the contrary, since we’re both finishing up for the night I thought to stop by and see if I could offer help,” she said, then taking pity on his overflowing desk, “with the filing perhaps?”
“Thank you,” he smiled, “that would be most appreciated.” He wanted to say more, to prolong this encounter which was fortuitously between just the two of them, but Timothy, roused from his nap by their voices, sat up and rubbed his eyes sleepily.
“Hello, Timothy,” she whispered, “sorry to wake you.”
Normally cranky when awakened like this, his boy was surprisingly gracious in the presence of his favorite nurse, “I wasn’t really asleep,” he fibbed. Then, as if having used up his civility, turned his sleep-deprived rancor towards his dad, “now can we go home?”
“Tim,” Patrick warned, accompanied by a stern look.
“Timothy,” Shelagh spoke up, and both men turned their attention to her, “I’m sure your father would like to go home as much as you would. Now if we all help with this filing, we’ll be finished in no time at all.”
Tim acquiesced and stepped towards the desk, accepting Shelagh’s task of finding the files starting with whichever letter of the alphabet she called out. Patrick felt comfortably at ease as the three of them worked together, Shelagh keeping Tim entertained with tidbits about the upcoming fete. He assured her that the Cubs were well prepared for their help with the Pick a Lolly and was delighted to hear that Beat the Goalie had been added as one of the games.
“I can’t wait to have a go,” he piped up, “and the curate will be more of a challenge as keeper than one of our dads!”
Patrick winced; did Tim really need to draw attention to his advanced age? He consoled himself with the fact that she was polite enough not to laugh.
Instead she smoothed over Tim’s dig with her reply, “Your father has other talents; you know he’ll be indispensable if anyone needs first aid.” She ducked her head and attempted to hide a giggle, but then Timothy joined in and their laughter filled the small room.
The contentment Patrick felt from their sudden outburst was palpable as he watched the joy shared between these two special people, one who had always been so and the other just beginning in her significance to him. Adding to his pleasure was the faint idea that she just might have been teasing him, however subtly it was executed. If only the moment would last and it could always be like this. Lost in his daydream, he was unaware of how much his son was enjoying bantering with Shelagh and was therefore unprepared to recognise the direction in which Tim’s next comment was going.
“It’s too bad there isn’t a talent competition,” Timothy chortled, “Dad could sing his new favorite song! It would be awkward though because it’s about a doctor; I heard Nurse Trixie tell Nurse Jenny that Dad heard them singing it a few weeks ago!”
“Timothy!” Patrick hissed, but it was too late. He felt the heat rise in his face as he glared at the boy even though he could tell by Tim’s countenance it was an innocent mistake. Nevertheless, his foolishness was now known to her and as much as he was loathe to, he slowly shifted his glance from Timothy to her.
Whatever he had expected her response to be, he was startled by what he saw in front of him. She appeared to be frozen in place, the files in her hand halfway to their intended location. She wore an expression of shock and the already pale skin of her face was drained of all color. Abruptly, she dropped the paperwork haphazardly then darted out of his office and down the corridor.
He closed his eyes and ran his hand over his face, cursing himself for his stupidity. Whatever friendship he had managed to build with her these last few weeks as a substitute for what he could never have was certainly lost now. His mind foggy with regret, he could hear Timothy, seemingly in the distance, questioning her sudden departure. Sighing, he realised that as much as he wanted to blame Tim for this situation that would not only be misplaced but would likely do nothing to relieve his own embarrassment. Instead he leaned down to pick up the files she had dropped, but just as quickly he stood up again. Embarrassed -- that’s what he had expected her reaction to be...or possibly annoyed, at his impropriety. But she had displayed neither of those emotions; what was it her face had reflected...was it fear? Why would she be afraid? Nurse Franklin's words played back in his mind, “it was Nurse Mannion who chose that particular tune...it seems she has a soft spot for one of the doctors here.” No, he told himself, that couldn't be possible, the doctor in question was definitely not him. But if there was some small chance that by her expression she had told him he was...well then he had to find out.
“One moment, Tim,” he muttered to the already bewildered boy before hurrying to the door and looking wildly left and right. Not seeing any sign of her he moved into the corridor and towards the nurses station where Sister Evangelina was holding court. “Did Nurse Mannion pass by here?” he asked, as casually as he could. When she gestured towards the stairs, he wondered aloud, “Tearoom perhaps?”
“Not the way she was moving,” the sister asserted, “I’d say she’s halfway across London by now.”
Offering no other response than a nod, Patrick dashed back to his office where he grabbed two jackets off of the coat rack. Tossing the smaller one to Timothy, he beckoned the lad to follow him. “We’re going after her,” he announced.
“Nurse Mannion?” Tim had to jog to keep up with his father’s long strides as they moved from the Obstetrics corridor through the doorway to the stairs.
“Of course, Nurse Mannion. Now where could she be?” he mumbled the last part more to himself than Timothy, as they clattered down the multiple flights towards the first floor entrance.
“Probably by the river; she likes to sit there and think.”
Patrick paused instantly, in the middle of the reception lobby, and had to reach out to stop Tim as well. “The river? How could you possibly know she would go there?”
“We’re friends,” Tim said simply, “we talk about things.”
“Of course you do,” Patrick commended him, “now let’s get the car.”
Minutes later they were easing out of the car park. Tim expressed concern, “it’s a long river, how will be able to find her?”
“There’s a road right off of the hospital that leads directly to a nice stretch of the water; let’s hope she knows about it.” They drove off towards their destination, moving through the darkened streets while looking out for her amongst the few pedestrians along the way.
When they reached the spot Patrick had in mind, he pulled up to the kerb. They could see a lone, small figure seated on the only bench provided. A mist was beginning to come in off of the river, obscuring their view. “I think it’s her,” breathed Tim, appreciating the solemnity of the moment.
Patrick nodded, “stay in the car, Tim, and keep the doors locked.” With that he climbed out of the vehicle and tentatively approached her. She started and looked back as she heard his footsteps behind her. Then, recognising who he was, she stood and faced him as he came round to her side of the bench. She looked so small and he could see that she had been crying; sections of hair had come out of her swept back style and fell carelessly around her face. She kept her gaze toward the ground and he hesitantly reached out his hand, longing to take care of her in some small way. Encouraged that she had neither left nor told him to go, he gently tucked a few of the errant strands behind her ear. Then, being reluctant to take his hand away, he left it where it was. He watched incredibly as she visibly relaxed at his touch; he heard her sigh, then felt her shiver. “You must be freezing,” he observed as he removed his coat and placed it around her tiny frame. She slid her arms into the sleeves, her hands lost in the voluminous lengths of fabric. He moved his hands to the front of the coat, doing up two buttons near the top in an effort to further tend to her.
“Thank you,” she whispered, still looking in the direction of their shoes. After several moments, she continued, “did you really come to the club that night?”
“Yes,” he admitted softly, “you were breathtaking.”
She shook her head in denial, “I’ve had no formal training.”
“Not the singing,” he clarified, still in a hushed tone. “You.”
Finally she lifted her face to look at him and he saw everything he had hoped for in her eyes, exactly what he supposed she could see reflected in his.
“Doctor Tu--”
“Please,” he interrupted, cutting across her words, “call me Patrick.”
She made a small, surprised noise in her throat before saying it for the first time, “Patrick.” Then, seeming to have forgotten whatever she had meant to say, she just continued to look at him and he at her, enjoying this privilege which had previously been unavailable to them. Several minutes later she managed to work her hand out of his coat sleeve to brush away her rapidly drying tears. His hands still lingered inexplicably near the coat buttons he had done up for her and she now placed one small hand on top of his in a gesture that sparked a quiet joy.
“I didn’t realise,” he breathed.
“Neither did I.”
“I’m sorry.”
With an almost imperceptible shake of her head she soothed, “there’s no need for that now.”
The look in her eyes along with the small movement of her thumb over his gave him courage; he knew her given name, but had never used it. He took a deep breath to steady himself, sensing now was the proper time, “Shelagh…” he began, and his voice shook slightly. Almost immediately, a brilliant smile graced her features erasing any question he had ever had. Mirroring her expression he reached out with the hand she wasn’t holding and gently brushed her cheek with his thumb. “Shelagh,” he repeated, with a small increase of confidence, “may I kiss you?”
She took a deep breath of her own before answering, “Yes.” Beaming delightfully, she blushed a bit as her gaze dropped to his mouth before quickly returning to his eyes.
The mist was closing in, but they were too focused on each other to notice. Patrick drew away from her grasp and took her face reverently in his hands. Lowering his head he pressed his lips gently to hers, lingering for as long as he dared. Pulling back, he gazed at her intently; her eyes were still closed, her lips slightly parted and he felt the intimacy of her sigh on his face. Encouraged by her contentment, he leaned in once more, gradually increasing the intensity of his kisses. As she moved closer to him, her eager responses to his attentions thrilled him, even as he reminded himself of the need for propriety. Folding her in his arms, he contented himself with one last kiss, then held her close as the fog surrounded them.

The day of the fete arrived with the blessing of lovely weather, all the more appreciated because as autumn approached it would likely be one of the last fine days of the year. As Shelagh walked into the square, her heart was full of joy with Patrick by her side, his hand holding hers. Timothy strutted alongside them looking smart in his Cubs uniform. As excited as he appeared, he was grumbling just a bit, “I was hoping there would be Welly Wanging this year!”
“Now you know there's not enough room here in the square for that, Tim,” his father chided, shaking his head at Tim's exaggerated sigh.
“Patrick,” Shelagh implored, “can we take him to a proper village fete sometime, out in the countryside?”
“Absolutely, my love, I'll do whatever it takes to ensure the happiness of the future Mrs Turner,” he smiled broadly and raised her hand to his lips. Shelagh giggled and glanced down at her left hand, enjoying how her engagement ring sparkled in the sunshine.
The night he had found her by the river they had stood in each other’s arms, unaware of the cold or damp, until an insistent honking alerted them to Timothy’s presence in the car. Laughing together, they had returned to an inquisitive Tim. Patrick had patiently answered all of his questions while at the same time being sensitive to any topic that might make her uncomfortable. She had made both of them smile ridiculously when she told him she needed no such protection. Their combined certainty was affirmed two days later when he asked her to marry him and she happily accepted.
Standing now in the midst of the fete, Shelagh felt a sense of belonging she had never known. Looking around her, she saw so many familiar faces united in support of the hospital. The ladies from her church staffed the potted plant stand and the used book stall. Closer to the fountain, Sisters Julienne and Evangelina were using their respective administrative and forthright skills to judge the fruit and veg competition. The nurses were doing their part as previously promised and of course Timothy’s Cub pack was assisting in their own small way.
As a newcomer six months ago, the church and the hospital were the two things that grounded her here and gave her a sense of purpose. To see them working together in this way was gratifying. But of course Shelagh knew it was more than that. The connection she finally felt here was because of the people, people she had tried to keep at a distance. How that had become a habit for her she didn't fully understand, and how many others she may have missed getting to know was not what mattered now. All that she had been through before was to prepare her for what she now was able to receive. Once she took that first step toward connecting, her world had gradually unfolded before her and she grew in confidence to the point where she was able to love and be loved. She would not focus on regrets but instead hold fast to the blessings that surrounded her today: her church, her vocation, her newfound friends, the little family she already held dear, and Patrick. He was more than she had ever dared to hope for -- kind, compassionate, a brilliant doctor... and he really did make her eyes go ooh!

A professional organizer talks about how to get your parenting life in order
The end of the summer always gives me a mild case of the blues. I enjoy the more relaxed schedule when school is on hiatus, even though I work year-round. But this year, more than ever before, September landed on my doorstep with a miserable thud. As my two kids have gotten older, they have gotten busier — scouting, marching band, multiple sports, homework, social activities. Welcome to parenting a Gen Z tween.
We have a color-coded command center on the wall in the kitchen. We have a homework station. We have all of the apps and alerts to let us know when there are changes in the soccer schedule or band practice. Yet we were spending too much time each week trying to figure out how to get Kid 1 to Point A and Kid 2 to Points B and C, while still getting dinner on the table and keeping the house running and holding down two full-time jobs.
In the midst of this chaos, Julie Morgenstern’s new book, “Time to Parent,” showed up in my mailbox at work. I hungrily dived in, looking for something — anything — that could help me rein in our over-scheduled existence (and yes, this is self-inflicted and avoidable — a topic for another day). The book’s aim, according to the blurb on the jacket, is to help people find “a healthy balance between raising a human and being a human.”
Morgenstern, who has been a professional organizer for about 28 years, including working a project for the Oprah Winfrey show staff, divides each of those tasks into four components (Provide, Arrange, Relate and Teach for raising a human, and Sleep, Exercise, Love and Fun for being a human). I homed in on the “Arrange” part, which covers the scheduling and organizational tasks involved in running a home and a family. If I could just get that under control, I thought, maybe we would reclaim some semblance of order.
I recently spoke with Morgenstern, who also launched a podcast on this subject this week, about arranging and more. Here are edited excerpts from that conversation.
There was a lot of talk about a year ago about the unequal distribution of emotional/mental work in families. This ties into your section on arranging. Why do you think it ends up being so unequal?
People gravitate toward the things they notice or are good at, or the things that are important to them, and the work silently gets divvied up without discussion. And even when there is discussion, it’s never complete. . . . But it’s a huge deal because the infrastructure of a family or household either enables or obstructs each family member from being able to achieve their goals. When we’re organizing a closet for one, we’re the only ones who are affected, but when multiple people are using a system, whether it’s the front entry, the kitchen, the living room, it can’t be based on how one person organizes.
[How schools are failing working parents — and how some are helping]
All of the arranging required for a household of people to operate successfully, to be able to come home at night and relax and spend quality time together, is not any one person’s job. It’s the tasks of the family. . . . You need to put everything on the table and divide it based on skill, ability, interest. . . . I think with that mind-set, people respond very well: These are the tasks required for the family, and sharing the work is a way of taking care of each other. Everyone gets that, and it’s liberating for most people. If you don’t honor a system, don’t put things back where they belong, or leave dishes in the sink, that not doing it is the theft of time. Every time you don’t honor a system, you’re putting it on someone else’s to-do list. Mindset shifts really help.
The suggestion in the book, of using index cards to represent family chores, then dividing them up to show the workload distribution, seems like it would help a lot of people. Can you talk a bit about that?
It is a visual aid. . . . The family I featured in the book, I think it was a 15-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl. The boy was so reluctant, like, you’re kidding me. He really felt very put-upon with chores. But when we divvied everything up on the cards, he was transformed. His mom had 80 percent of the cards in front of her, he had a few, his sister had none. She wanted to do stuff but had to be taught, and it never occurred to the mom to teach her. . . . It helps you put it out there and make it objective. It can also clarify the things you don’t need to do, and that’s very powerful.
How can parents have the arranging portion more under control?
Automate the key areas and create systems to deal with things. . . . I had a client, she and her husband work and have three kids, but they never figured out systems for their house, like where things belong. They never figured out the food thing, so every day they had to figure out what are we going to have for dinner. . . . If you sit down for an hour and design a system in the most simple, predictable way, come up with 10 dinners that everyone likes and are easy to throw together, and that’s what you make. You can have a shopping list made up ahead with a list of the ingredients, and you just circle what you need. Put the ingredients together in a bin, with a card on how to make it. Whoever gets home first can prepare that meal.
Don’t overcomplicate it. You need to keep the routines simple and self-instructing, so anyone can do it, a child or a friend or neighbor or family member who is helping out. . . . If you don’t have patience for it, get someone else to do it, or do it as a family. Someone is bound to have the skills, so sit down as a family and figure it out.
Any guidelines on how to set limits on kid activities to give us all a breather?
Lots of families who handle this really well, who want their kids to have rich lives but also value downtime, literally limit it every semester to one or two extracurriculars for each kid, not five. . . . If you have more than one kid . . . try to choose ones that synchronize really well. And also for the parent, if the kids are doing these things on weekends, try to align your self time for when the kids are doing their things so you can also have downtime together. . . . There’s something really lovely and healthy for kids to have some together-apart time in the house, where they’re each doing their own thing under the same roof. If kids are out constantly doing things, you’re eclipsing any of that together-but-apart time, and that’s cheating them of something.
How can parents, particularly those with flexible schedules, keep from letting work and home bleed into each other?
The key is to always put up the edges and look before you leap. There’s no better practice for parents to contain each thing than to end every day by looking ahead, tomorrow plus two days beyond. Set it in your head: Tomorrow the kids are at school, and I’m working from 8 to 2, then I’m picking up the kids, being with them for three hours, then when they do their activities, I’ll go back online for more work. Find the [natural divisions] in the day … just like when an athlete sees their run before they go. Create intentions for each block, set your benchmarks for what success looks like. . . . Make each block of time pure. If you’re going to be with the kids for an hour, be with them. If you’re online working, be online working. . . . Even though we can work anywhere and anytime, I don’t think it’s good to do that. The more it all bleeds together, the less satisfying it all is.

Self - Evaluation
Finally, to evaluate my website project, I would like to start off by showing how I have engaged with this project. My motivation for my Nepalese Tourism website sparked from the thought that not many people know much about the History of Nepal. The beautiful country has more than the highest mountain to offer, and so much goes behind the tourism industry. The website design principles were basic, as I felt as though that the simpler the website is, the easier it is for visitors to navigate around. I chose my website background to be based on Mount Everest as it would bring a lot of attraction to visitors, with the refreshing blue icy colour.
Creating this website allowed for my creative side to blossom, as I do enjoy designing websites, and being imaginative with what colours would help the website topic. I used certain images to demonstrate the tourism industry of Nepal, and audio as well. Using the audio would bring attention to visitors of my website and give a warm welcoming with the authentic melodies straight from Nepal. I created an interactive graphic which is shown in my banner, and I used a slogan and made it as realistic and fascinating as possible. I used photoshop and other software to present my ideas, and mind maps in order to set up my website. I have created websites before, and I knew it was important to make the layout very eye catching for the audience. However, it was not just about the design, but also the content so people take something from the website when they leave. Lastly, problems such as organizational skills were faced due to not performing all my tasks in time, however next time I will make sure to improve on this and become more prepared.

About me
Reflecting About Your Experience
Reflecting About Your Experience The culture of the office is one thing that I actually have whole management over, and I don't must answer to some other boss. I've seen that working your individual workplace could be more challenging, but Mr. Garza genuinely loves what he does and having labored there for three months I can see why. I began my internship with MLB.com covering the Cleveland Indians on May thirteen. The Cavs ended the town’s 52-yr-old championship drought slightly over a month later. This summer I am interning at People journal as part of the American Society of Magazine Editors internship program. I additionally gained a higher consciousness of logistics general, as my duties did entail integrating the warehouse techniques into the overall operations of the group. In today's world, it is unimaginable to think of enterprise on an area, and even national, scale. Today's enterprise reality is a worldwide economy, for companies giant and small. Thanks to globalization, nationwide borders have been lowered. The enterprise specializes in marriage ceremony photography, catering mainly to Chinese purchasers. Her company is primarily about the Chinese wedding photograph business. Chinese couples, when they're getting married, like to do wedding photo shoots at unique places. Miami is one such location, and that's the reason the enterprise began. Mrs. Song defined somewhat bit about her enterprise, and that she desires department out a bit in the future, doing things like commencement movies. I have had the pleasure to work bear a counseling internship at Catholic Charities, a mental well being counseling company. The internship has been fairly useful in my process to turn into a counselor through the educational, challenging, and rewarding practicum experience I obtained from the company. During this era, I was assigned some duties that had been comparatively new in my studying expertise and offered important challenges at first. However, the method ended up being some of the helpful studying experiences I actually have had due to its rewarding nature. As a outcome, the complete counseling internship on the psychological health company has been an avenue and alternative for learning and progress in my journey to turn out to be a counselor. Without it, organizations can't be actually aggressive in today's international economy. I anticipate that my internship experience at Korona Tours and Travel in Cyprus will reiterate this reality to me. Events like charity walks, awareness gatherings and inventive steps including making of promotional supplies have been a part of this memorable experience. My internship was at Verbena Vision Photography, which is situated at Miami. This is the trail that I had generally felt I wished to take with my career, and after this internship I still feel that is the right alternative for me. There is a sure freedom that comes with being your personal boss. Yes, there's advertising concerned but that to me is a welcome break from the standard duties. Knowing that all the fruits of my hard work will be mine has an attraction. My ultimate objective is to become a Pipeline Technician for the Alyeska Pipeline. I am the sort of one that takes my training and my schooling very critically, who enjoys completing a task with precision and dexterity, and who makes the many of the possibilities I even have been given in this life. Hence, I could be counted on to make the most out of the internship program, within the curiosity of being a valued member of the TAPS group, in addition to in the curiosity of pursing my own profession goals with readability and vitality. Thank you in advance for permitting me to current my reasons for pursuing this internship. The internship interval at AIDS Concern proffered many alternatives to participate in social prosperity and nicely-being. This means suppliers, clients, and opponents usually are not essentially simply down the street, however could be located wherever on the planet. As such, it is important for organizational group members to have a firm understanding of the international dimensions of business. Being a real Midwesterner and a proud homebody, I was nervous about living in New York for the summer season, however I absolutely love it! Luckily, I don’t spend a lot time in my dorm room because hours every week I’m at People magazine’s offices in downtown Manhattan. However, what I take pleasure in most about interning at Transitions is that the work I do contributes to a bigger cause. Every publish, every piece of promoting, advantages journalists from around the world with initiatives that helps elevate cash for the entire great work they do.

Habits of Really Organized People
Really organized people are not born organized, they have to cultivate healthy habits, which then help them to stay organized.
So even if you think you are a very disorganized person, you can learn to be organized. From planning things, jotting things down, to ditching the unnecessary and organizing things that matter, you will become an organized person as long as you’re willing to learn and practice.
Here are the essential habits on how to organize your life:
1. Write things down
We all know someone that remembers every birthday and sends cards for every holiday. It’s not magic and they don’t use memorization. Trying to remember things will not help you to stay organized. You should try writing things down.
A pen and some paper is our way of remembering things externally, and it’s much more permanent.
You will only further complicate your life by trying to contain important dates and reminders in your head. Write down everything: shopping lists for groceries, holiday gifts, home decor, and important dates like meetings and birthdays.
As an experiment, try writing down people’s names shortly after you meet them (when they’re not looking). I’ll bet you remember a lot more names that way.
2. Make schedules and deadlines
Organized people don’t waste time. They recognize that keeping things organized goes hand-in-hand with staying productive. They make and keep schedules for the day and week. They make deadlines and set goals. And most importantly, they and stick to them!
Similarly, by living a cluttered lifestyle, you will not have the time or space to make your deadlines or achieve your goals.
As an experiment, look at your bucket list or make one. Write down the things you want to achieve this year or in your life. Then write down what you need to do to achieve them.
Life is short, make sure you’re doing what matters to you most. If you need a little help on that,
3. Don’t procrastinate
The longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it will be to get it done. If you want your life to be less stressful and less demanding, then organize as soon as you can. Putting in the effort to get things done as soon as possible will lift the weight off of you from doing it later.
As an experiment, think of one thing that you should organize in your life. Write it down. Then write down when you can do it and what you need to get it done. If you can get it done right now, then go do it!
4. Give everything a home
It’s easy to get lost if you don’t have a home. Keeping your life organized means keeping your things in their proper places. Organized people keep order by storing things properly and by labeling storage spaces.
Make easy-to-access storage spaces for things you use all the time, and don’t let your storage spaces get cluttered. Be creative about finding places for things. In addition, as a BIG NO: never label a storage space as “miscellaneous!”
As an experiment, choose one place in your home that you can re-organize. If there are scattered items, then group them together. Once you’ve sorted everything, find or make a “home” for similar items, label the “homes,” and put them in the proper places.
For example, a cup holder for your pens and pencils should go in an easily accessible place, but the rarely used craft materials can be stored out of sight.
5. Declutter regularly
Find time each week to organize. Highly organized people make sure they find time every week or more to organize their things. Stuff does not stay organized on its own; it needs to be reorganized continuously and consistently.
As an experiment, look at your schedule and find a time to organize, then do it.
6. Keep only what you need
More stuff means more clutter. People who live organized lives only keep what they need and what they really really want. Having fewer things also means that you enjoy those things more and feel better about using everything you own, rather than letting half of what you own collect dust.
Have you ever felt like you don’t have the space to keep all the stuff you own? Instead of renting a storage unit or buying a larger home or adding new storage boxes, get rid of some things.
As an experiment, write down the number of things you think you actually need. Then, write a list of all the things that you own. If the number of things you actually own exceeds your ideal need list, then it’s time to organize.
7. Know where to discard items
Do whatever you can to get rid of stuff. Less stuff means less clutter.
Donate it to those who might need it more. Sell it online as pre loved items. Find a place to get rid of your things.
As an experiment, choose one space in your house to purge. Go through shelves, drawers and boxes. Everything you find that you don’t need, set aside. Make a pile of things to maybe keep, which you can go through later, and a pile of things to discard now. Then find a way to kick those things out the door immediately.
8. Stay away from bargains
You have removed the things you don’t need. Will you replace them when you see something on sale?
Instead of bargain shopping without planning ahead, write down down exactly what you need and buy only those items. Organized people do not give in to false advertising. Items on sale will only produce more clutter.
As an experiment, go to a shopping mall with no money. Just look at all the things on sale that you wish you could buy if you had brought your wallet or purse.
If you find nothing, then good for you. If you made a list, then keep that list somewhere and look at it a month from now. If you still want it, then it’s safe to buy.
9. Delegate responsibilities
A really organized life is not overfilled with responsibilities, meetings and deadlines. In fact, it has less because things that create stress have been slowly organized out.
As an experiment, look at your to-do list or make one. Go through the list and find one task that you can remove from your list or give to someone else. Now feel the stress of having to do it fall away.
10. Work hard
Put in a little effort. Actually, put in a lot of effort when necessary.
Once you have delegated responsibilities and made a schedule, then you can organize what you have to do and when you can do it.
Staying organized is not all a breeze. It requires that you work hard with recognition that when you work harder, you can enjoy your clutter-free home life later.
Work harder when you feel like giving up today.
What’s more important is to remember what you work for is meaningful to you.
Learn from these organizational tips, make them your habits one by one. Slowly you’ll become a lot more organized and productive!
For those who have their own space, or home you can simply start it right now, as for me I do not have my own space for now but if I am given a chance to have my own space too, I would probably start de-cluttering right away.

Physical Environment
The task for Week 11 revolved around the importance of physical environment and encouraged students to reflect on what we think makes up a comfortable environment, how we would create it, as well as share whether we would permit our students to sit where they choose. Here is my response:
“I personally love it when settings are open and organized. I honestly get uncomfortable and can't focus very well when my environments are cramped and cluttered. Having big windows and natural lighting are also somethings that I really like in any indoor environment. I find it really nice when classrooms are bright without needing to rely on fluorescent lights of schools and windows are great to allow fresh air into the classroom. I am also really attracted to decorations and the aesthetics of a space. I love decorating spaces and adding a little personal touch to it. As a student, I always enjoyed it when my teachers would change up their decorations to fit different themes and topics students were learning, and I know that this is something I would enjoy doing as a teacher in the future (I'm getting excited just thinking about it!).
I think classrooms with the aspects of environment which I mentioned above would contribute to making the classroom a comfortable and inviting space to learn. I also think flexible seating is important to have in any classroom setting. This allows students the choice and freedom to move around when working and socializing, as well as a sense of ownership and personalization, especially if they are involved in the arrangement of the classroom. Personally, I also think it's important to have a classroom set up that promotes collaborative learning – the first thing I think of when it comes to this is arranging desks in small-groups. I have had a few classes in which the desks were either isolated in rows as well as one class where the seating arrangement was all over the place – some desks were isolated, some were in pairs or small-groups, and were all facing different directions. I absolutely hate such setups. A flexible and collaborative/group arrangement would be less restricting for students and better help them build connections to their peers.
Tumblr media
I have never had to design/create a positive environment for someone else, but I recently re-did my room. I used to share a room with my younger sister, but recently we were able to each have our own rooms since my two elder sisters moved out – I was very excited to finally have my own space. I don't feel comfortable or relaxed when my room is cluttered or cramped (which it was before) and I knew that I wanted to have more open space so the first thing I did was work on organization. I moved my bed to the corner of my room and got organizational drawers to place along the wall beside it in which I now keep a lot of my things (mainly craft supplies) that had to be shoved under beds before. I also added in more lighting as my room was very dim before which often made it hard to study as the trees outside my window don't allow much natural light in. I also organized my shelf – I got rid of unnecessary items and clutter and replaced them with some of my favorite books and items such as music albums and artwork that I have created. I love personalized my environments and so I hung up pictures of my friends and family on my walls – it'll be great to be able to keep adding memories to my room.
I think generally, I would allow students to sit where they choose. I personally have always hated assigned seating – I felt that is was restricting and, in many cases, it negatively impacted my learning when I wasn't comfortable sitting with the students I was assigned to sit with. It's important that students have a say in their seating arrangements and are given some freedom in this aspect. However, in regard to permitting students to sit where they want, I think my approach to this would vary depending on the class, individual students, etc. For example, in a class where all students get along well with each other and I know that they won't have conflicts or be uncomfortable around certain students, I likely wouldn't feel that assigned seating would be restricted in this case. Also in terms of students choosing seating, I do think that it is important to build an understanding with students that they may be moved if I feel that where they choose to sit is negatively impacting their and/or the learning of others”
                    –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Tumblr media
Similar to the Peer Interaction Task in Week 4 about late assignments, this Week 11 task also gave me the opportunity to learn a lot through engaging in interesting discussions with my peers. In my own experiences in education courses, I have never had physical environment of classrooms be a topic that students explored – this is quite surprising to me, especially now that I have gained a good understanding of how important it is through this course. I learned a lot during this week by engaging in discussions with my peers and reading different approaches that my peers had towards seating arrangements and allowing their students to choose their seating. This is a topic that I have always been curious about, even as a student. I would wonder how teachers created seating plans, what made them decide to organize desks in one arrangement instead of another, etc. In my response, I mentioned that while my approach would vary depending on the class, I would generally allow students to sit where they choose as I value providing students with autonomy and freedom. I also stressed that I believe it is essential to build a sense of trust between teachers and students and for teachers to set clear boundaries to create an understanding that students’ autonomy when it comes to seating may be restricted if their choices have negative impacts.
My peers brought many other ideas to my head which I was able to think more deeply about, contributing to my learning process even further. For instance, one of my peers shared that she generally would not separate students form sitting together because she would rather have them choose their seats so that they can sit with peers that they are comfortable around. Another one of my peers mentioned that he would let students choose their seating initially for a few days, observe students’ interactions and dynamics, and then change or not change the seating arrangements accordingly. This is something that I had not explicitly thought about or mentioned in my response, but I think that it is extremely important. Students will enter a classroom with the teacher most likely not knowing the students or how they interact with one another. Thus, it is important for the teachers to provide students with autonomy and take some time to just observe the class before interfering in anything. I really came to understand that it will take time to get to know your students and figure out what is the best for them in terms of seating arrangements as well as other aspects of the physical environment – you must know your students to be able to tailor their environment to meet their interests and needs.

Sports Media Internship [BSM307]
Preparedness prior to commencing the internship and assimilation into the organisational culture
One of the keystones for educational institutions offering students internship programs is the transitional experience from the classroom to the workplace, where interns absorb practical knowledge and skills alongside common workplace skills (Maertz et al. 2013).
As I have stated in previous Tumblr entries for earlier subjects, the internship program at Holmesglen was unashamedly the driving reason for me enrolling in the sports media degree in the first place.
Now that I’ve begun the second semester and internship program is upon us, I’m excited and nervous at the same time.
Following on from the ‘Transitioning to Professional Practice’ subject we had in semester one, I’ve been utilising many of the tips and interviewing skills we’ve learned throughout semester one while applying for the position descriptions (which I have found quite daunting).
I had plenty of anxieties after submitting my CV’s but having secured six interviews from the eight internships I applied for, I am feeling quite confident about myself heading into the internship itself.
Tumblr media
Some of the feedback I have received regarding my experiences I’ve sought outside of the degree has been really positive. In fact, one of the organisations said I was the perfect candidate and that my CV’s was the standout ‘by the length of Flemington straight. One of my primary concerns during my time at Holmesglen has been securing opportunities outside of my studies to set myself apart from the other students, so that feedback meant a lot.
‘When a recruiter receives hundreds of those bulleted documents, that most probably look and read the same, it can be really difficult to know how to make yours, you and your credentials for the job stand out among the masses’ (Blair 2019, para. 3).
I believe I’ve put myself in the best position to perform and succeed as I enter the scary and exciting sports media industry.
It was an absolute pleasure for me to be offered a hybrid internship involving my top 2 preferences: Rainmaker and SEN. It’s an opportunity I jumped at and it has worked out better than getting one internship one or the other in my opinion.
I’ve begun my internship at Rainmaker quite nervously I must admit. The internship was one of the driving forces for me enrolling in the degree in the first place and now I’m here, it’s quite surreal.
The first few days I typically found myself twiddling my thumbs a bit as a look to find my feet, but I really feel like I’ve blended into the culture at Rainmaker. Obviously, I share interests with the employees there (sports and broadcast production), but even still I’ve been made to feel very welcome.
I made some mistakes, but I’ve received great encouragement while being shown the ropes. As I move forward with the first half of my internship, I’m a bit concerned as to how I’m going to get the 114 hour mark. The plan is hopefully to get an opportunity to work in the studio and create a small program myself so that I have something to show for my time, and something to soak up my time.

Finding my feet in the internship and completing initial tasks (i.e. first 40 hours)
The transition from lecture rooms into the workplace can be stressful, as students may struggle to understand their role and responsibilities initially in new environments. According to van der Zwet et al. (2011) while being newcomers to the workplace, students can take time to become accustom to rules, professional hierarchies and interactions within the new workplace environment.
My first few days and shifts at Rainmaker have been rather enjoyable, if not eye opening. Somewhat surprisingly, I have been working in house as oppose to remotely, which I’ve been grateful for. Having the chance to meet all the crew and be shown where everything happens (tv production, radio etc) was great, including having my own desk.
Most of my first few hours at Rainmaker were spent learning the ropes. David, Kane and Hayden showed me many tricks they do in terms of capturing visuals. My first task was to go through their program and record all the games through the end of the season (from halfway through round 15 to 17) so all vision required for promos/highlights etc where in the system. The guys also put me to task on capturing some goal highlights from Melbourne’s Christian Petracca from a game that previous weekend, which they were pretty happy with.
All in all, the guys I met through my first couple of shifts have helped me settle into the organisation structure really well, and I continue to meet more employees who all seem to be great guys and girls.
One of the first programs I was a part of was a pre-recorded program for a technology company called ABB. I played the role of the Electronic Visual System (EVS), playing the visuals and still graphics when prompted. I had to keep everybody alert as to when each clip would end, shouting down from 10, which I felt a little bit silly doing.
The first live broadcast we did was the Healesville Cup, which appeared live on the Greyhound Racing Victoria Facebook page. While I didn’t play too much of a role whilst on air, I did work with the graphics, renaming them so they distinguishable and putting in order to replicate the rundown sheet. Watching the broadcast live and seeing the scheduled rundown get thrown about was quite interesting to watch.
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=232442071526836
I also got my hands dirty with a couple of other programs, including The Winners (hosted by Jack Heverin) and the Essendon Football Club best and fairest award. During The Winners, my role was as floor manager, where I ushered the talent from ‘the background’ to the plasma when time come for their segment.
The best thing for me was to experience having the headset on and trying to sort stuff out on the floor while having somebody yell at me through my earpiece from the control room.
For the Essendon B&F I was in charge of the teleprompter, which I really enjoyed. Although there was a moment where I forget to prompt host Julien De Stoop that we were throwing to a graphic (which can be seen in the video below at 23:09).

I’m learning more and more and Rainmaker, and I truly appreciate the guys making me feel as welcome as they have. It’s time for me now though to become more proactive and ask questions and keep myself busy to get the best out of the opportunity Rainmaker have afforded me.

Being an effective team member, contributor, building confidence & being efficient
Kira & Balkin (2014) discuss how individual identity can make an impact on the organizational environment as employees attempt to achieve alignment between work identity and work environment.
To that end, I have endeavored to portray myself as a willing contributor during the early hours of my internship at Crocmedia. While I feel like I have blended in to the group of people that work at Crocmedia (Rainmaker in particular) well, trying to be an effective team member has been somewhat of a challenge.
Like in most workplace environments there is of course already an established hierarchy, with everybody playing their own role. This is particularly important in television production obviously, especially during live broadcasts. As such, I have found myself sitting on the sidelines a little bit during broadcasts while only performing what I would describe as periphery tasks. It’s not quite an environment where I can use my initiative to do my own thing, in fact sometimes all I feel I can do is ask individuals if there’s anything I can help with (and sometimes there is).
Having said that, I am certainly getting more and more confident with some of the tasks I’ve been set that I’ve done multiple times. The floor management role I’ve had on our Saturday mornings has been great, and I’ve grown in confidence since my first attempt managing where to go.
Becoming more confident in this regard has ultimately helped shape me into a better contributor who can be trusted to do what I have to.
Tumblr media
While I have been shown a myriad of other roles, I feel as though I have not yet really had the opportunity to sink my teeth into them. In all honesty, this has left me a bit frustrated as I do get the sense that the director and producer (Kane and David) want to ask me to lend a hand with something, but pull short of asking because they’re unsure if I can do it (which of course is true when I haven’t had a sufficient go at those particular roles).
One definitive example of this was during the pre-recorded Cox Plate program when I was asked to copy some questions that had come through for the talent via Twitter onto the teleprompt. Once the email come through I chucked them in and was good to go, until I was told to go and collect the pieces of paper from the printer with the questions on them and give them to the talent.
Maybe the producer just thought that was the better thing to do, but I already had them in the teleprompt and am capable using it, so I’m not quite sure what to think.
I know moving forward we’re set to learn some other great skills which we’ll need to learn and I’m excited for.
So far I’ve been punctual, approachable, I’ve done whatever I’ve been asked to do, and I’ve been efficient doing it. Both Kane and David have assured both myself and the other intern we’re doing a great job, which I hope they mean sincerely as I know I’m capable of much more they’ve asked me, Brent, an effective an reliable team member, thus far.

Challenges (the nature of the work, working hours, motivation, tabling of ideas)
‘The application of strong measures of time control is paramount for the attainment of our organization goals because it has an inverse relationship with self-management, productivity and environment’ (Rombe 2016, p. 204).
One of the major skills I have developed during my time at Holmesglen has been juggling the degree requirements with personal responsibilities. Early in the degree it become apparent to me that I was going to have to obtain a diary and note everything I need to do on a weekly basis throughout the semester and be organised for once in my life. Throughout the early hours and weeks of my internship, time management has been paramount despite proving tricky.
In recent weeks I’ve been in at Crocmedia for 6 -8 shifts, which of course has meant I’ve had to designate time within a week to nail uni assessments rather than do what I need to do at any time during that particular week. With a myriad of commitments going on late in the semester (internship, assessments and my weekly radio show), my time management skills have been tested during the final semester of the degree.
While in it at Rainmaker, the time spent there seems to be either hectic or mellow. There doesn’t seem to be much in between. Much of the time is spent prepping for the shows and webinars a few hours before hand, and then live broadcasting (that’s the hectic part). There’s been some downtime during my time there where I’ve had the opportunity to tick of some uni stuff, which has been invaluable.
The last few weeks where my internships at Rainmaker and SEN have proven difficult, not just with time management but so many knew things to learn. Unlike Rainmaker, I’m not in the building for SEN, so everything is done virtually including the instructions I receive through their communications channel ‘Slack’. This has proven difficult because obviously it’s not like face-to-face communications where I can be shown and ask questions. This has proven extremely difficult trying to grasp information and I get the feeling the frustration is mutual, which has led to my reflectance of tabling ideas for yarns and overall motivation.
Heryati (n.d.) discusses how positive communication within the workplace is key to employee motivation, not merely relying communications via email but also on a personal level.
I feel as though I’ve given a good account of myself during the degree, achieving great results on many assessments and managing to keep my motivation levels high. However, as we head towards the end of the semester and the halfway point of the internship, my motivation is beginning to wane. I think with the end of the semester nearing, the hectic end to the semester and the way the year has unfolded (or more like unraveled) all play into the fact I feel burnt out approaching the end of the year and degree.
I feel incredibly lucky that I’ve been able to be one of the few students allowed to go in to the internship headquarters and work alongside professionals. This indeed has been incredibly valuable, and I don’t struggle for motivation once in the building. But with the heavy workload and the slight underwhelmed feeling I’ve been left with during the internship, I’m longing for the finish line.

Achievements and milestones both technically and professionally
‘Recognition often is the fuel to motivation, which in turn creates success for a business’ (Daihl 2018, para. 1).
As I approach the midway point of my internship there have several instances that I consider personal achievements within the organisations I’ve worked with.
With Rainmaker in particular, I’ve received positive face-to-face feed back after a lot of the little tasks I’ve been given have been completed. One of the live streamed shows we did for the spring racing carnival was a show called ‘Ladies Night In’ for the Ladbrokes Cox Plate. My role during the show was to chauffer the guests to the desk but to also place and remove props within the given segments (and there were a lot of props).
There were times when I only had 60 seconds to get props into and out of the shot, so it was imperative that I familiarised myself with the rundown and didn’t muck it up. Afterwards, the director Darcy told me he wouldn’t have been so stressed about it if he’d known how quick and productive I was. It wasn’t a big challenge for me personally, but it was the act of going through the rundown (the likes of which I’d only seen since commencing the internship) and prepping for when it was time to do what I had to.
Afterwards, I was thanked and congratulated by the whole team, which made me feel like it had all goon smoothly (which is the best thing that could be said I suppose).
youtube
With the SEN digital team, one of the real thrills of the internship has been having some of my work published and my name appear on the website. It’s bizarre to think that I’ve contributed to a website which I have long been a member of the audience. While I’ve done a bit of work individually outside of the degree that has spread my name a touch, it’s still a novelty that won’t wear off for a while.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While working with the digital guys at SEN I’ve also been in charge of time coding (for future quoting reference) and tracking our social posts (making sure we hit sponsored content targets). When I’ve completed this, supervisor Nic has given me some nice feedback, telling me how hopefully this has been. I’ve found that doing a good job with something that really helps the team has boosted my confidence to the point where I’m feeling more comfortable engaging with everyone in the messaging system we use called Slack.
Working with a lot of these audio and tech wizards has also benefitted me in regard to creating my own content. There’s been several tricks of the trade I’ve learnt from Kane at Rainmaker in regard to the Adobe programs we use (namely Photoshop and Premier Pro) that have been vital.
As such, I’ve been able to implement some of these tips both for assessment purposes and with my own radio content, too, so that my work I create looks like I know what I’m doing (which might nit have been the case beforehand).

Career aspirations including goal setting (and reflections on submitting 2 real world job applications)
‘By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure your progress and continuously motivate yourself to progress toward the vision you have for your ideal work life’ (Berkely para. 20).
My career objection upon enrolling in the degree at Holmesglen has been to become a respected sports broadcaster within the sports media industry. All the decisions I have made during my three years at Holmesglen, from the effort I put into practical assessments, to opportunities taken outside of the degree and internship placements.
I’ve known for a while that the industry I’m looking to work in have two key entry points: knowing somebody who is already established within industry and climbing the ladder (i.e. with an advanced portfolio of work). All of the guest speakers we’ve had confirmed this, so I’ve set about building my portfolio. While I don’t know anybody personally in the industry, my contacts have grown substantially since enrolling in the degree.
One of my first goals was to begin calling the football at a local level to showcase my ability first to the people immediately around me (co-callers, friends and family that might listen etc). Long term my goal will be to build a portfolio of calls I think are good enough draw attention from commercial radio stations.
My other goal to host my own radio program has kicked off this year too with my weekly NFL show on the same station. Again, the idea was (and continues to be) to build a show from scratch that is produced, hosted and disseminated by myself.
To have these two opportunities to call and host are my small steps to bigger opportunities in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the purposes of this assessment, I applied for two job applications that are in the realm of work I see myself doing post the degree.
The first position I applied for was as an overnight announcer on the Sports Entertainment Network. Being completely honest, I know I’m not qualified as things currently stand, however this is a position I can see myself doing in the future. Also, I know that if I continue along the path I am with calling football games and hosting/producing my own show, I will have the capabilities to apply again the future. My goal is that at such time I am better equipped and a more obvious candidate to e picked from the applicants.
Tumblr media
The second position I applied for was a journalism position for the paper in my home town of Ballarat (The Courier). Full disclosure, I’m not an avid writer. During my time at Holmesglen I’ve written plenty for both my website and online site The Roar to showcase my writing capabilities, but journalism is not necessarily something I wish to do for a living.
This was another position I wasn’t qualified for, but again I know that I’m going to be qualified for opportunities like these within a year or two. The fact I haven’t heard back (at least not at the time of writing) from the organisations doesn’t deter me. The most important thing from my point of view is to continue to build my portfolio, and applying for these positions, if nothing, is a chance for me to showcase that to potential future employers.

Supervisor evaluations and future career professional development requirements
‘A positive workplace culture improves teamwork, raises the morale, increases productivity and efficiency, and enhances retention of the workforce’ (Agerwal 2018, para. 1).
One of the most difficult things I’ve experience during the internship has been fitting into the Rainmaker organisation and trying to transition from being a student to a working professional. Trying to find my feet within the organisation was always going to be tricky, but if I’m to be completely honest with myself, there have been moments during the internship where I’ve been a bit like a deer in the headlights.
Some of the feedback I’ve received from David Kennedy and Kane Grimster has reflected this. The feedback has called for me to be more proactive in asking questions in what is obviously a fast-paced environment. I believe this feedback to be fair, although I don’t feel like the environment is conducive to asking questions when under the pump. That is to say that, given how I feel with some of the personalities in the room at Rainmaker, I’ve more content to sit and wait for instructions rather than seek out things to do.
In the early days within the Rainmaker organisation I really did feel like a fish out of water. Being amongst working professionals who I’ve seen on television and heard on the radio took me a while to get use to. As a result, there were a few tasks I was given early that I wasn’t sure if they really wanted me to do or not.
‘Essentially, confidence is knowing what you’re good at, the value you provide, and acting in a way that conveys that to those around you’ (Kaplan Education 2020, para. 30).
Moving forward as a working professional, I really do feel like this internship has taught me I need to more self-assured within the working environment. Perhaps this was the experience I needed to realise perhaps I can be more confident in a professional environment. I’ve been a capable and high achieving student and it’s taken me too long to translate that to the workplace.
There’s also been a part of me that’s had to be resilient in the sense that I’ve seen the internship supervisors gel more with the other interns as oppose to myself. While this obviously disappointing, I’m using it as a lesson learnt in terms of how different workplace cultures work and how different personalities integrate within established environments.
I don’t think they guys at Rainmaker would agree that perhaps other interns have been prioritised over me, but that’s how I’ve felt at times.
Moving forward, having the chance to intern at Rainmaker, as well as work with the SEN digital team online, has taught me some really great lessons about the profession and how to be professional. It’s also taught me some lessons that I’d rather not have learned (such as feeling inferior and useless at times), but I feel like all these things are lessons I needed to learn.
I do take solace in the fact that the feedback received from David and Kane has noted my positive work ethic and attitude, because these are two things I bring constantly to any situation that I think are baseline requirements. It’s amazing how far these two traits can get you, and I’m sure these, along with professional lessons learned so far in the internship, will serve me well in the future also.

Overall reflections on the internship and studies from starting the degree (i.e. how have my objectives/ambitions changed? Or not?)
‘Professional development refers to many types of educational experiences related to an individual’s work. Doctors, lawyers, educators, accountants, engineers, and people in a wide variety of professions and businesses participate in professional development to learn and apply new knowledge and skills that will improve their performance on the job’ (Mizell 2010, p, 3).
It’s quite daunting when I think back to the period in my life when I first contemplated enrolling in the sports media degree, to officially enrolling and entrenching myself back in the education system again. When I left school in 2011, it was never my intention to return to any form of education in the future, and yet here I was moving away from home and enrolling in a degree that I hoped would set me up for a career in the sports media profession.
I remember early on in the degree Sam Duncan told us that there were often students who would enter the degree with a particular goal or career path in mind, and by the end of the three years their goals had changed entirely. I recall pondering if this would happen to me, as I had entered with a pretty clear vision of me becoming a respected sports broadcaster.
As such, all of the decision I’ve made throughout the degree have been with the intention of achieving this goal.
From an academic standpoint, I am extremely proud of what I’ve achieved these past three years at Holmesglen. After being out of school for six years and never having written an academic essay in my life, I feel I become one of the strongest performing students academically of my cohort. Honestly, his even surprised me.
The crown jewel of the degree, that being the internship, has been a great learning curve for me. To work in a professional environment alongside savvy professional, to building connections in an industry that relies so heavily on them has been instrumental. If I was to say I’ve enjoyed the internship as much as I’d hoped from the perception I had from the outset of the degree I’d be lying, but I really have learnt some wonderful things and some harsh lessons about organisation culture and just induvial personalities within cultures.
During the degree I’ve learnt some fantastic technical skills that I’ve always been wanting to do but never really got around to. Skills like using photoshop, premier pro for video production and Audition for audio/podcast creation which are skills that are non-negotiable for sports media professionals of the day. These skills have already been put to good use with individual endeavors outside of the degree coursework.
Tumblr media
Personally, the third year of the degree has been quite a struggle for many different reasons. The main being the fact we’ve gone online and, although I’ve seemed to have coped with that change well, the last few weeks of the degree felt like a real drag. I always feared that I would limp to the finish line and feel burnt, and that’s exactly what happened. I’m disappointed with this only because of the high standards I’ve set for myself throughout the degree.
And now the hard work begins. My expectations throughout the degree have been that I wouldn’t get a job straight after, and that certainly won’t happen now given the circumstances. But the opportunities I have set up for myself post the degree have me in a good position to succeed as a sports media graduate entering the profession.

                                 Quarter Times entry
My internship experience has truly been a blast, an experience that has given me countless moments where I’ve needed to pinch myself to check that I am in fact still in reality.
The internship was probably the driving force behind me enrolling in the sports media degree in the first place, and from the outset I was really keen to work with SEN if the opportunity arose.
And so when I received an invitation to join the guys at Crocmedia to work with the TV production team at Rainmaker and the SEN digital gang, I was pretty excited (the company changed its moniker from Crocmedia to The Sports Entertainment Network while I was there, but I swear this had nothing to do with me).
One of the things I really enjoyed during the internship was the ability to actually go into the building while most other students didn’t have this luxury. To walk into the dining area and see Gerard Whateley munching on his endives with shrimp salad in one corner and Damien Barrett in the other downing his waldorf salad with pickled couscous was quite surreal.
To see how the guys at Rainmaker worked around COVID restrictions was really interesting, including working with hosts and guests coming through Zoom and only allowed a handful in the studio itself.
Personally, I really enjoyed working on the pre-match broadcasts we did for a few teams, including the Western Bulldogs, St. Kilda and Geelong (all of whom lost the next game, but I had nothing to do with this either, I swear).
I also had the pleasure of working on some live broadcasts which were absolutely bonkers hectic, but fun. We did ‘Winners’ and ‘Thrill of the Chase’, with my job being the runner, ushering talent on and off the desk and basically telling people where to go (which I found out I’m good at).
With SEN digital, it’s been a thrill to have my name published on a website for whom I’ve consumed plenty of content over the years. I look forward to having the opportunity to writing more and having randoms on Twitter telling me I’m an idiot.
I’ve loved my time at Holmesglen, I’ve loved my internship experiences at SEN and I loved watching the tiges win the flag again.
Goodbye Holmesglen, I’m off into the real world now.
