The deep symbology of dragons in Japanese temples or shrines is because they are considered the gods of water. So anyone entering their abode must wash their hand and rinse their mouth as the first act of purification.water pouring from the dragon’s mouth is considered holy. So when visiting such places be sure to go to the fountain first.I took this pic at the Kongoshoji temple located in Ise city in Mie prefecture.Words and pics by Sergio Guyman.
