Bright green eyes stare up at Toji.
The child's red pouty face stills as soon as he saw his Papa and his cries quiet to a small sniffle.
Toji stares at the little bundle of blankets. He closes his eyes and exhales before opening his eyes again. He extends his arms and slowly reaches underneath the sweet bundle and pulls the baby to his chest.
The sounds of the crickets outside were a peaceful noise as he slowly rocks his little boy. Looking down at the baby, who has been silent since he picked him up.
Toji snorts.
"Hey kid." He whispers, The chubby baby’s eyes cross as Toji gently pokes his little nose with his finger. The cold breeze from their open window made the baby's thin wispy hairs dance around and he scrunch his face up.
Almost cooing at the little thing that stares at him with big doe like eyes. Gumi reached out of his bundle and grabbed onto his father's finger, squeezing it.
The man breathes out a soft chuckle, gently uses his thumb to clean one of the still wet tear stains on the little one's cheek, and the babe makes a noise as he stares up at him, freeing one of his arms fully from the blanket to clumsily try to reach up at him, cooing and waving his chubby limb for a few seconds before Toji decides to slowly lean down, feeling tiny digits on his face.
Then a button-like nose and a tiny mouth, blubbering and giggling.
The child,

Smiled at Toji,
And Toji involuntarily smiled back.
