Here is my entry for the reversebang! @kalcia did an AMAZING piece, and I was so excited to be able to write something to go with it. The fic is completed and will be updated throughout the day!
Summary:
Kagome had seen the light in the distance all her life. When she finally sets out to discover its source, she gets more than she bargained for. A trapped hanyou, a seemingly unbreakable curse, and a strange connection.
And at least two people want her dead.

I've been following you for your great ATLA meta but seeing you answer asks about Inuyasha and finding out you've actually wrote stuff for it in the past is an amazing bonus. I'd do anything to read Inukag fanfics written by you!
Wish granted. This is the only Inuyasha story I have left (as far as you will ever know). It's not my earliest fic, but I was still very young when I wrote it. I still stand by it though.

Summary: After a strange injury, Inuyasha wakes up each morning believing Kagome hasn't returned yet. This causes problems.
Letting out a shaky breath, Inuyasha gingerly settled against the base of the Sacred Tree and fought against the urge to pass out. It’d been a long time since he’d been injured this bad and, of course, it had to happen in the middle of the night. The last thing he wanted to do was wake a sleeping newborn and the twins were prone to crabbiness when tired so going to Miroku or Sango was out of the question. Kaede hadn’t been feeling great and Rin was useless so that ruled them out too. Everyone needed rest. Besides, it wasn’t their fault he’d needed to protect them. The whole point of that fight was to make sure his found family didn’t suffer and Inuyasha would gladly suffer a thousand times over so they didn’t have to.
And said suffering currently consisted of a possible head injury, maybe a broken bone or two, severe blood loss....
From what Inuyasha could piece together from his increasingly fuzzy memories, some poor girl was being pursued and was calling out for help. There was some type of battle. Inuyasha would’ve sworn he’d blacked out for a minute there and most of what he could remember was a blur but…to be honest, he’d gotten his ass handed to him worse by better. He'd probably just been sloppy or something but seeing as he was alive, Inuyasha seriously doubted whoever he fought was too.
In any case… it seemed that, very unfortunately, he was just going to have to bleed out beneath this tree until someone came to find him. Which they would come morning because god forbid the monk do anything by himself and Sango was pretty useless anymore. Well, okay, not useless but...you know...newborns...take up time...
Head lolling dangerously, Inuyasha vaguely registered the sound of urgent footsteps and, with a miserable groan, immediately began trying to stagger to his feet. Watch him be wrong about the whole 'the enemy is dead' assumption.
“Where have you been?” came a frantic yet relieved voice that Inuyasha’s brain second guessed. As he crumpled under the weight of his uncooperative body, amber eyes blinked sluggishly at the young woman who was somewhere she shouldn’t be. Well, maybe that was the wrong way to say that. Who wasn’t where he wanted her to be and hadn’t been there for the past three years.
Shit. Maybe he’d hit his head harder than he thought.
