Nonnie I'm so happy you thought of me T-T Feudal AU's and fairytales are my jam and I am always so so so happy to share fics! That said, I DO have a ton of recs for you actually because I am one of the fic finders over at @inukag-archive ! We've made some lists that already cover some of these topics and we have lists in the the works that cover the rest. The Archive only posts things related to asks and page housekeeping, so hit the FOLLOW and GET NOTIFICATIONS buttons to make sure you see all the new lists (because some lists take a hot-minute-and-a-half to make we range anywhere from 3 lists in a week to no lists for two weeks in a row, but fear not we WILL eventually answer everything folks send in).

Afternoons were becoming longer every day.
Kagome could feel it in the air, on the people passing by her, in the way her thoughts would clog and lead her to a unique, pleasant and obsessive idea; InuYasha.
It was getting harder and harder to endure the two weeks they had proposed to put between their visits. He had gone back to live in Nakano almost two weeks ago; a couple of days after their reunion, an encounter that had kept them between four walls throughout the whole time he had been in Tokyo. Now it was her the one who had to make her way there, for a weekend, albeit she didn’t know if she’d be able to finish the task she’d been assigned today before that. She was sure, however, that she wouldn’t miss the chance of seeing him again, of embracing and kissing him as if he were the only nourishment for her famished soul.
It was before that desire that Kagome understood afternoons weren’t the thing that seemed eternal, but rather the hours themselves; and the whole of her thoughts seemed to be inside an alleyway with just one possible light, there, at the end.
The apartment she lived in felt comfortable, letting enough light in as to make winter appear less dramatic than it usually was; or maybe it was the memory of InuYasha, strolling through the place while barely dressed, and sometimes with just a towel. Kagome sighed before the bittersweet memory; It was a treasured one, but it was also the source of her loneliness, a misery on her shoulders, heavy like an oni stealing her energy.
As soon as she took off her shoes, her hands moved to her purse in search of her phone in order to call him. She turned it on, and the first thing she saw was the picture she chose, of his hands as he decorated a ramen bowl with a couple of sticks. To anyone looking at this picture, she knew, it would look like a mere photo of an average cook, yet for her it had the spice of InuYasha’s undressed state during that moment, and of how delicious food had been that night, by his side.
The ringing signal was melodious to her ears, as her heart echoed it, until Kagome heard the voice that she had been yearning for.
“Hi, my girl for every day.” She heard him say, a smile blossoming on her features as if she were a teenager before the words of the boy who stole her heart.
She wasn’t so different from one, she comprehended then, there were but a few years between her and that time.
“Hi, my boy for every day.”
Her answer was filled with her beating emotions, emotions that only soared when his laugh came through the speaker.

“The fact that you so easily walked right across a very clear boundary that I had set with you really hurt me.” Her voice reflected a tremble as she fought the tears that threatened to fall. “You broke the trust that I had in you and I—I,” the words where right at the tip of her tongue, “I don’t know if we can make it without trust.”
Koga leaned back forward in his chair. He held his head in his hands as he looked down between his feet. He was the picture of defeat.
The warm pressure behind her eyes caused her vision to blur as she looked at Koga. The tightness in her chest and the small sting in her nose made her choke back a sob. She didn’t want to break down like this—not after the way he had treated her. Before she would allow her tears to fall, she cast her gaze to the side and back out to the yard, taking breaths to steady herself.

A/N: The best way to follow up @inukag-week is to follow it up with more InuKag. This chapter didn’t quite fit any of the themes this year, so I held off on posting. I’m so glad I finished this though. It’s been a long time coming—plus, I can focus on the final installment. I hope you’ll enjoy reading chapter two of One Day With You. (Everyone please send me inspirational vibes so I can give you chapter three ASAP.)

Chapter 2: She’ll Talk if She Wants to
The spring air filtered freely through the window, and sunlight traced lazy lines on Kagome’s checkered skirt while a kettle smothered the orange flames in the center of the Kaede’s hut. When they were on their journey to defeat Naraku, Kagome hadn’t appreciated the comely nature of these types of fire, but three years ago the high school graduate never imagined missing them.
“Kohaku says he doesn’t like coming by, but he and Kirara still visit all the time. I know they’ll be so excited to see you again,” Sango said, idly combing her fingers through her daughters’ hair. Three years ago, Kagome’d listen to Sango talk about Kohaku, but it was never like this. Now there wasn’t any strain in her voice—the palpable weight she carried for him was gone.
“I’m so glad to hear they’re doing well! Especially Kohaku,” Kagome replied, smiling softly as she caught Kin’u yawning. The twins, whom Kagome learned were named Kin’u and Gyokuto, hadn’t shared the same excitement as she did hearing Sango gush over their uncle. Instead, they’d taken to resting their heads on their mother’s thighs. They used their small hands to pillow these full, healthy cheeks that Kagome couldn’t get over.
In doing this, the twins became mirror images of their younger brother, Hisui, who’d already fallen asleep secured to his father’s back. Being parents looked so natural for Miroku and Sango, and Kagome knew there was no other way for her to meet them again.

Inuyasha finds Kagome's presence makes him happy.

As Inuyasha laid back on the ground, relaxing, he watched Kagome leap from tree to tree in the forest canopy above him. She had a giant grin on her face and was giggling and laughing with joy.
Inuyasha smiled, as he couldn’t help but think that Kagome could find joy in some of the smallest and strangest things imaginable, even now, when they were in each other’s bodies. He was so used to having demon powers that he hadn’t thought that the simple act of jumping through the tree tops could be so much fun. Kagome was always showing him fresh new ways to see the world.
Kagome’d shown him kindness when everyone else had seen him as a monster to be hated. She’d brought love and friendship into his life. He now had people that would fight to save him from his enemies, not to mention himself.
There was little Shippō, a young fox kit. Inuyasha knew that for as much as Shippō liked to prank him to no end, the little fox cared about him a great deal.
Then came Miroku, the pervert monk. At first, Inuyasha didn’t like him but after countless battles as allies and lots of time travelling together Inuyasha had come to see that Miroku was dependable and trustworthy.
After that was Sango, the best demon slayer in her village. Sango was one of the two survivors from her clan of slayers who had been massacred by demons. She sought revenge for her village’s destruction, but she now had people to live for. She was very loyal to the ones she loved, even to the point of trying to sacrifice herself for them to live.
Kagome had made it possible for Inuyasha to have these friends because she had the biggest heart of anyone he’d ever met. She’d been there for him ever since they’d met, and she’d saved his life as many times as he had hers. She’d stuck with him through thick and thin despite the pain and hardship because she loved him, a lot.
Inuyasha loved Kagome back, and did his best to show her that.
He watched her as she leapt from branch to branch laughing loudly, happy that his life had changed so much for the better, and it was all thanks to Kagome and her love and kindness. He now knew what joy was, and it was all thanks to her!
