Comic styles, old vs new

Comics have been around almost as long as movies with sound, as of such they have evolved and adapted with time. We’ve gone from having fairly basic drawings done to scale either in black and white or with bright flat colours, to downscaled large drawings with intrequate cross hatching as well as photorealistic anatomy and shaded colourse that were more realistic and matched. As well as this there have been artists like Alex Ross and Dave Mckean who have created incredibly detailed painted work which clearly stands out from the crowd. I think Brian Bolland was the most ahead of his time with the rendering methods and because of this his art has a timeless quality. Some people like myself are fans of all the art but others are just fans of the modern highly detailed art and some really love the old stuff. If you look at the modern comics they all go for a realistic look which suggests this is what a mojority want. I really love the art of Frank Miller because it’s not ultra realistic but it’s very believable and more interesting to look at. I think anyone who enjoys the art within my comic would probably be fans of the old comics because thats what mine most resembles infact the way I coloured it is similar to how the covered ink on the paper. Fans would probably enjoy the art of Frank Miller and perhaps the art from The Walking Dead.

I’ve recently become insanely obsessed with Undertale. I watched Dan and Phil play it over the course of 2 weeks and honestly, this game made me nearly cry. I love the characters and it’s basically become a comforting thing for me to go to when I feel anxious/unsure of myself, so I felt that making a bujo spread for it was appropriate!

Hospitality and Tourism and World History are already coming to an end, and I am thankful that they were so easy. I just need to boost my History grade up to an A (it’s currently a B) and I’ll be set!

A Series of Shadows.

@onescientificmishap There had been many truths about Pepper and her feelings towards Las Vegas. It was this strange brightly lit town that was filled with strange sights and even strange plums of smoke. Las Vegas was also a symbol of Tony’s past mishaps. There had been plenty of evenings of the duo long before they dated that he took in a Vegas Showgirl and she had to shove the woman out the door to get Tony to a conference on time.

These days it was different. No one would ever say she wasn’t intrequed when she mentioned that she was borrowing his intern Peter Parker to take with her to experience the whole consumer Mecca that was the consumer electronics show that Tony suddenly showed interest in tagging along. Pepper wasn’t just a keynote speaker, but Stark Industries happened to be a large presences at the show introducing the latest updates to the various products they released.

Pepper was waiting in the living room of her hotel suite with Happy while Tony snored away in the next room over. Patiently checking over her emails as she waited for Peter to arrive. Hearing the knock from the door, Happy walked over to open the door. “You’re ten minuets late, kid,” Happy chides as he leads Peter into the living room.

“Give him a rest, Happy,” The actuality of everything was Pepper preplanned tartiness. She rises gathering her bag,”Make sure that he actually comes to the convention, please. If he was so insistent on being the tag-a-long then he can actually be bothered to show up to the speaking engagement I have tonight.”

“You know, he wouldn’t miss it, Pep,” Happy shakes his head,”I’ll have him there, don’t worry.”

I watched this film, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, by Lotte Reiniger. I enjoyed the film, it's a fun simple narrative told in silent movie form. My only negative would be some of the problematic dated attitudes it presents, however, it was from the 1920s so that is to be expected.

Lotte Reiniger has been an animator I've been interested in throughout this year and it was interesting to finally see the feature film she created.

Visually, I thought the design of the film was beautiful. Characters and objects are mostly silhouettes but different shades are used to provide depth and everything has an intrequate shape.

I will almost certainly take inspiration Lotte Reiniger's style in my future work and I would recommend this film to anyone with an interest in animation.

Too painful to have a title

What the fuck? Oh god no. Fuck fuck fuck. No. No. No. No. Oh god oh god please no.

Why the fuck? Why couldn’t you say goodbye to me or leave me something? Maybe it’s selfish to grieve like this over someone who’s no longer in pain... but how could this be? How short the life of someone so talented, so interesting, so intrequing, so handsome... so special has been severed by the build up of a collection of painful memories or a strong cause leading to the overflow of painful past or present thoughts and causing immediate mental torture- leading to an unretractable action. I wish that I could speak to you just one more time. I miss you so much and I’ve only known for minutes of this news- what am I going to do I feel so sick this hurts so much I have so much love for you I want more time getting to know you. Seeing your photo on this post kills me I feel horrible. Maybe you can come back somehow?

Here is the bujo spread from this past week! I included mostly blue and purple colors (because they’re my fave) and also because those seem like holo colors, so they match my holo stickers that I got from Target!

My mom and I made a pact that we would go to the gym every day this week, so as I write this I am dozing off. I’m so glad I’ve been pushing myself that I feel so sleepy!

World History and Hospitality and Tourism have been really interesting, which is new for me because I used to be so exhausted when I went to brick and mortar school that I never enjoyed my subjects. Feeling enthusiastic about learning is so amazing.

I got tagged by @studytherin ♡ (thank you so much dear, I was so happy when I got the notification!)

My handwriting honestly isn’t anything special; I’ve never practiced on worksheets to make it more *aesthetically pleasing* or anything like that, which I’m okay with. I write in cursive almost all of the time, put unfortunately allot of people can’t read it because 1) they’ve forgotten how to read it or 2) it’s too messy for them. Either way, I love my messy cursive, so there you have it!
