2022 Book Wrap!
In total I read 29 books this year meaning I was only 1 book of my reading goal of 30. That is okay thought because this year I really got back into reading and considering last year I read about 14!
Books I read:
The Turn of the Screw - Henry James
The World's Greatest Miracle - Og Mandino
The Thursday Murder Club - Richard Osman
Where the Crawdads Sing - Delia Owens
The Haunting of Hill House - Shirley Jackson
The woman in Black - Susan Hill
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
The Man Who Died Twice - Richard Osman
The Girls I've Been - Tess Sharpe
As Good as Dead - Holly Jackson
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine - Gail Honeyman
How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You - The Oatmeal
Heartstopper - Alice Osrman
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Trial by Fire - Josephine Angelini
Firewalker - Josephine Angelini
Witches Pyre - Josephine Angelini
Midnight Sun - Stephanie Meyer
New Moon - Stephanie Meyer
Eclipse - Stephanie Meyer
The Candid Life of Meena Dave - Namrata Patel
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - Suzanne Collins
One Last Stop - Casey McQuiston
Daisy Jones and the Six - Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
Little women - Louisa May Alcott
Good wives - Lousia May Alcott
The Bullet that Missed - Richard Osman
My 5 top books of the year that weren't rereads are probably The Woman in Black, Midnight Sun, The Candid Life of Meena Dave, Daisy Jones and the Six, and One Last stop.
The Woman in Black is my new favourite horror book ever. It made me feel so unsettled (my imagination is very active) and had me peeking around corners before exiting a room incase the Woman in black was waiting for me. The plot twist at the end really got me as I genuinely thought that he had broken the curse but wow. It was sick but also amazing and I couldn't read anything for a few days once I finished it because I was still hooked.
Funnily enough Midnight Sun is in my top 5. I know alot of people disliked this book because it was too similar to Twilight but I really enjoyed it. I love how we really get to see Edwards character more in depth. What I loved is how dramatic he was and how funny he was. My favourite part was when Mike was speaking to Bella and Edwards decides to be the most dramatic man ever and start thinking about how he could just kill Mike. So silly.
The Candid Life of Meena Dave is incredible. I love the characters, especially the dog! The romance in this book was so cute and I loved how Patel didn't make Meena have her whole life and story revolve around Sam after meeting him. It didn't just focus on love but also on Meena trying to find herself before even thinking about getting into a relationship. Was an amazing read that had me kicking my feet.
Now at first I didn't like Daisy Jones and the Six because of how it was written. But then I grew to love it with my whole heart. I wanted to learn how to pkay bass guitar before reading this book but after it made me get up and actually learn. I'm so glad Reid didn't glamorise or romanticise drugs because drugs quite literally almost ruined Billy's life. I loved seeing how he changed and dealt with everything. Anyway I'm so excited for the show to come out in March!
Finally, One Last Stop, arguably my favourite overall this year. THIS REALLY HAD ME KICKING MY LEGS IT WAS SO CUTE. I think I also fell in love with Jane. When I say this book had me crying I mean actually sobbing. The end had me facing so many emotions. I don't even have the words to say how much I love this book.
I reread quite a few books too. My top 5 were definitely the Worldwalker Trilogy (Trial by Fire, Firewalker and Witches Pyre), The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Little Women. These 5 books are my comfort books. Every single one of them has broken spines and damaged covers because of the amount of times I've read them. I highly HIGHLY recommend them, especially the Worldwalker trilogy and anything by Josephine Angelini. The trilogy has my ultimate book crush, Rowan Fall, too! So underrated definetly go read it!
Anyway, that is everything I have to say about this year. Its a shame I only had one book left to read but I'll achieve it next year!

lisa, honey, is the end of an era I FINISHED TEEN WOLF
honestly i can't believe it, it's been quite the journey and i wasn't ready for the end, i miss my characters what am i gonna do help
i was waiting for taylor's announcement and decided "ok, this is it, i'm gonna finish it" AND I DID AND I'M DEVASTATED
first of all, the very ending, when scott says "they're my friends... my pack" and they all walked together i was bawling my eyes out, i got so attached to all of them, i couldn't help it. i also cried SO MUCH when theo took that boy's pain because now he cares 😭😭😭😭 it was so emotional i was silently screaming on the couch
malia and scott trying to learn how to fight without seeing was incredible and i was shocked when deucalion died. peter and derek came wich was great because i missed them! OH, CHRIS ARGENT AND DEREK HALE IN BRAZIL, I SCREAMED SO LOUD, I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN.
the plot for 6b was really interesting btw, how fear can turn people into killers, there's a similar plot in supergirl and it's one of my favorite seasons. also, monroe was disgusting, everytime she showed up i was like "oh god, here we go again", the way she's a guidance counselor and talks about killing kids like it's killing a mosquito, she was terrible. and gerard... that man is the devil, that's all i'm gonna say
lydia and malia in the morgue was one of the best scenes of these last episodes for me, when lydia is like "pfff there's no way i'm gonna touch-" and malia just grabs her hand and place it on the corpse, i laughed so hard. i love their friendship.
now can we talk about the way that scott literally clawed his own eyes out to stop the anuk-ite from turning him into stone, i almost died. he's such an angel, he's just genuinely such a good boy i love him so much, i wanted to hug him so badly. the way malia had to kiss him later to trigger the healing process, it was really cute too.
i just think that they did my girl dirty in the last episode, lydia didn't do anything, i was sad. they spend all this time saying how her scream is extremely powerfull and everytime we get to the big fights, she never uses it. i mean, she saw malia turned to stone and literally disappeared until it was time to help scott with the eye thing, i was really upset about it
and of course, stydia. i think they forgot they made it canon, there's no other answer. i don't think they even interacted in the last episode, we were robbed. but at least stiles came back, i literally screamed when he showed up in his jeep, my dad was laughing at my excitement
chris and melissa are a great couple, i loved it for them. but i'm also curious about the movie because with allison coming back, this is going to be a gossip girl situation, but i'm here for it.
the nogitsune saying scott failed allison also broke my heart, i think i cried more than anything while watching the finale lol
well, i guess that's it, at least that's what i could remember. please tell me your thoughts, now that i'm done i'm dying to know! and about jane eyre, i'm reaching the end, she's in the moor house. she just got better and is bonding with the two other girls!
thanks for listening to me, you're really lovely <3
you finished teen wolf!! dear lord it hurts. from the season 6a ending alone i was absolutely devastated, i remember i literally had to go walk around outside for like half an hour because i couldn't take it. read into that as you will.
also, let's talk about theo's character development!! that's how you do it. he could take the boy's pain bc he had grown so much!! still makes me lose it.
no actually scott mccall deserves the world and i will never shut up about that. he is one of the honest to god best tv protagonists i've seen because he's so unselfish and kind it's insane. the clawing the eyes out thing was absolutely brutal and it killed me when i saw it.
yes, lydia was totally misused! it still bothers me that they waited so long to develop her banshee abilities and then she only used them once and twice. she could have been so powerful if she was allowed to be, which is so annoying. and yess the stydia agenda was kind of sidetracked throughout the entirety of that show. they loved teasing it but didn't actually want to show it lol.
i am fascinated to see how the teen wolf movie deals with allison. i loved that the show kept referencing her- i feel like it's super common to have a show that kills off a beloved character and then just never brings them up again? glad that wasn't the case here, but yeah allison somehow coming back from the dead is going to be bizarre.
i love your takes!! i'm so glad you liked the show, and would love to keep talking about teen wolf + future shows if given the chance. teen wolf is honestly one of my favorite shows because i felt such a strong wave of emotions throughout the entirety of it. love it and love you!!

Revenge of the chocolate cream poisoner:
Broadmoor archives go online, revealing the story of its most crazed inmate By TONY RENNELL FOR MAILONLINE, 9 December 2011
Tumblr media
For a mentally healthy person, insane people, even though it is a sickness, is incomprehensible to a sane person. The danger that some of these mental nut jobs, as many would classify them, is cause for concern because of their unpredictable behavior, suicidal or murderous actions, however, there are tamed crazies, totally alienated and completely out of it who need to be put away to be cared for because of their incapacity to fend for themselves. Many of these characters obtain notoriety because of the human damage they cause or may cause. There are many movies and TV serials produced that make for adrenaline rush of these people. This time around, I have included the history of the CHOCOLATE CREAM POISONER, in which her character has been made into a TV show called the WICKED WOMEN, that I have posted below.
833-1 https://ok.ru/video/3861120223976
But before we go into complete insanity, some ungodly behavior:
833-3
I have also included an article as manifested in the headline in two parts. One read out in an experimental method I am trying to develop, the other, story itself.
833-2 https://ok.ru/video/7303072385587
Following the complete text of the article: source.
Tumblr media
She was a scheming, image-obsessed, murdering minx who in her younger days laced sweets with strychnine to see off the wife of the married man she desired.
Now, though, she appeared perfectly harmless as, in her dotage, she preened herself for her last attempt to entrap a man.
'Are my eyebrows all right?' the temptress asked a fellow inmate at Broadmoor, the hospital for the criminally insane, as she prepared for a Christmas dance at the institution in 1906. 'I was a Venus before,' she declared, the years of her incarceration seemingly forgotten, 'and I shall be a Venus again!'
The male doctors and staff could expect her full-on, sexually-charged attention, even if, in her late 70s, Christiana Edmunds's man-mesmerising days were long over.
Mad, bad and dangerous to know, she was one of the most notorious inmates of Broadmoor in Victorian times, her name a byword for something that hidebound era found impossible to comprehend or forgive — a woman's unbridled lust.
Tumblr media
Sex pest, stalker, compulsive liar, manipulator, trouble-maker, murderess — there is something uncannily modern about her case, though the crimes for which she was locked up were committed almost a century and a half ago
Her story has been resurrected by a local archivist who was given unprecedented access to 19th-century patient records at the 150-year-old secure unit tucked away in a Berkshire forest. It is aired in what has become this winter's surprise internet hit.
Available free of charge on Kindle, Mark Stevens's Broadmoor Revealed has become one of most downloaded books, overtaking classics such as Dickens's Christmas Carol, Jane Eyre and Dracula.
Like some ghoulish Victorian precursor of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, his handful of heart-stopping Broadmoor reality stories makes compulsive reading.
Leaving aside Christiana for the moment, there was, for example, paranoid surgeon, man of letters and random killer Dr William Minor, who, in between contributing learned entries to the Oxford English Dictionary, was beset by deep-seated delusions that he was being sexually molested by hundreds of women.
He eventually sliced off his own penis (though with no effect on his fornicatory fantasies, which continued as before).
Equally lost in his own world was Richard Dadd, a hugely talented artist who ended up in Broadmoor after mistaking his father for the devil and slitting his throat. He spent his time obsessively painting fairies and biblical scenes in minute detail.
Tumblr media
Lost in his own world: 19th Century artist Richard Dadd ended up in Broadmoor.
Broadmoor housed killers of all sorts, baby-batterers, rapists and arsonists. A few had taken potshots at Queen Victoria, including Edward Oxford, who was classified as an 'hysterical imbecile' at his trial but, once under lock and key, managed to master French, German, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Latin and learn to play the violin.
A number of inmates thought they were actually the Queen and should have been resident in Buckingham Palace. But saddest of all were the likes of Mary Ann Parr, one of the very first inmates.
Brought up in poverty and afflicted by congenital syphilis, she gave birth to an illegitimate child, which she suffocated against her breast. Broadmoor saved her from a death sentence.
Found guilty of their crimes but insane, Parr and hundreds like her were sent there rather than to the gallows in what was in many ways an enlightened act of compassion given the general brutality of the criminal system at the time.
Tumblr media
In its grim blocks and unheated, unlit bedrooms, there were no drug therapies or psychiatric analysis. Instead, inmates were subjected to a regime of routine and work designed for their moral improvement.
Some of these suffering and delusional individuals recovered enough to be allowed to leave, even Oxford, who had fired a pistol at the Queen.
But Christiana Edmunds, the so-called 'Chocolate Cream Poisoner', was not one of them. She would remain within Broadmoor's walls for 35 years until her death.
Unlike most of the female inmates, she was not a casualty of the grinding poverty of Victorian England's city slums. She was middle-class, educated and of independent means. Her downfall was sex.
Described in contemporary reports as tall, handsome and 'extremely prepossessing in demeanor' — Victorian-speak for pretty damn hot — she lived in fashionable Brighton, where she met and fell madly for a local doctor, Charles Beard, a married man. She sent him passionate and indiscreet love letters.
How much of the affair was real and how much in her mind remains unclear. He would afterwards insist there had been nothing physical between them.
But he returned at least some of her romantic interest and let matters take their course until, after a year of secret assignations, he tried to cool things down. It was over, he told her. She was not to write to him again.
But Christiana was unfazed by rejection, even taking to calling on the Beards at home. One day in September 1870 she arrived with a gift of chocolate creams for Emily, the doctor's wife. Mrs Beard ate some and was violently sick.
An outraged and no doubt scared Beard, wondering what demons he had unleashed, accused Christiana of poisoning his wife. She denied it, arguing that it couldn't have been her because she too had eaten a chocolate and become ill.
Whether or not the doctor believed her, he kept his suspicions to himself, fearful that to involve the police would mean scandal. But he told Christiana to stay away from him and his family.
Once again, she took no notice and continued to write to him three times a week, her love for him as undying as ever, her pursuit every bit as manic and devious.
What happened next was odd. Over the coming months, there were no more attempts on Mrs Beard's life, but a number of other people in Brighton fell ill after eating sweets and chocolates. There were no fatalities — until a four-year old boy named Sidney Barker died after visiting a sweet shop called J.G. Maynard's.
Tumblr media
There was a coroner's inquiry, and Christiana, of all people, came forward to offer evidence, describing how the chocolate that had made Mrs Beard ill the year before had also come from Maynard's.
The investigation now turned to the sweet shop, and traces of strychnine were found in some of its chocolates. But how they got there was a mystery no one could solve, and the shop owner was exonerated of any intentional poisoning. A verdict of accidental death was recorded on poor little Sidney.
But the poisonings continued. More people in Brighton were taken ill. News spread. The town and the police were on tenterhooks for the next incident. It came on August 10, 1871, when six local people received parcels of poisoned fruits and cakes. Mrs Beard was among them, as was one of her neighbours and the editor of the local newspaper.
Tumblr media
Another recipient was . . . Christiana Edmunds herself, presumably trying to cover her own tracks but in fact recklessly drawing intention to herself.
Dr Beard had now had enough. He finally went to the police to voice his suspicions about Christiana and handed over her passionate letters to him as evidence of her unstable mind and evil intent. She was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
She appeared in court, the ultimate femme fatale in a black silk dress, nonchalant and aloof. But the evidence was now piling up against her — a chemist said he knew her as 'Mrs Wood' and had supplied her with strychnine to kill some troublesome cats; an errand boy said he delivered chocolates to her from Maynard's.
Everything was now falling into place, and an additional charge was then laid against her — of murdering Sidney Barker.
Brighton was considered too small a stage for what had now become a sensational national case. Only the Old Bailey would do, and Christiana stood in the dock there, in black velvet this time, with a fur trim.
Witnesses told the rapt jury how she sent boys to buy sweets for her from Maynard's shop and then returned them for re-sale — now laced with poison — on the grounds that the wrong ones had been delivered.
As for motive, the prosecution suggested that after her first attempt to dispose of Emily Beard failed, she had embarked on her subsequent poisoning spree around Brighton because she wanted to blame Maynard's for the incident and thereby get back in her lover Dr Beard's good books.
Alternatively, she might have simply been experimenting with poisons before having another go at the hapless Mrs Beard. What seemed incontrovertible was that unrequited love had driven her on.
Her lawyer put up a defence of insanity. Christiana didn't know the difference between right and wrong, he argued, and the revelation in court that there was a history of lunacy in her family seemed to be in her favour.
But the jury was having none of this and found her guilty. She was sentenced to hang, a verdict she greeted by dramatically claiming she was pregnant and therefore the sentence could not be carried out. A doctor examined her and concluded she was in this, as in so much else, lying.
Tumblr media
In prison, awaiting execution, she was seen by Dr William Orange, Broadmoor's medical superintendent, and another Home Office doctor. Their report was unequivocal — Christiana Edmunds was as mad as a hatter, 'with confused and perverted feelings of a most marked insane character'. On this advice, the Home Secretary reprieved her and sent her to Broadmoor.
The decision caused ructions. It was not just that two health-care professionals had chosen to overrule the clear decision of a properly constituted jury. There were also many who felt she had got away with murder and resented the cost of keeping her alive indefinitely when a long rope and a short drop would have been considerably cheaper.
On her arrival at Broadmoor in 1872, she was 43 — not the 35 she claimed — with rouged cheeks and an enormous wig. Orange wrote on her notes: 'She is very vain.'
She also quickly proved to be sly, getting her sister to smuggle in clothes and make-up for her, as well as extra headfuls of false hair to fill out her wig and enhance her glamorous appearance.
To Broadmoor's doctors she was a painted lady, obsessed with her personal appearance and motivated by romantic desire. She in turn flirted with them outrageously, demanding their attention and flaunting herself. 'Her manner and expression,' noted one, were 'sexual and amatory'.
Tumblr media
'I shall astonish them all,' she insisted. 'I shall get up and dance ¿ Venus again!': Christiana Edmunds died just nine months later after uttering these words in Broadmoor
The decades made no difference. She continued to come on to any of the male staff she had contact with, and she never for a moment showed any remorse for her crimes.
Was she really mad? Many doubted it as she went about her days quietly engrossed in her embroidery, easy enough to manage, though she seemed to delight in winding up other patients until they lost their tempers and she could then complain about them.
There was never any question of her being released, particularly after her remaining family died and she was alone in the world.
Her health weakened, her sight faded and she could barely walk unaided, but she did her best to keep up appearances, still — judging by the conversation she had before the Christmas dance in 1906 — worrying if her eyebrows were sexy enough to capture a man's attention.
'I shall astonish them all,' she insisted. 'I shall get up and dance — Venus again!' She died nine months later on September 19, 1907, at 78, from old age.
Author Mark Stevens, senior archivist at the Berkshire Record Office, finds Christiana a woman who still tantalises more than a century later. 'She never denied her actions, nor offered up an explanation of what she was trying to achieve by them,' he says.
'There is still a sense of mystery about her motivation. It is unclear whether she wanted to have Dr Beard for herself or to ruin him.'
Was she just a frustrated spinster whose uncontrollable desires destroyed her? He believes she was a more complex character than that suggests.
'She was a slave to adulation, and thrived on the publicity that her criminal actions generated.'
If so, then the enigmatic Victorian Venus of Broadmoor may well have been that most modern of dazzling and bedazzled creatures — a fame junkie, made mad by her own desire not so much for sex but for celebrity.

He knew something was off as soon as she stepped into the main battery. She seemed tense and nervous, pacing around his console.
"I need to talk to you" she said.
Shepard was closer to Garrus than any other person on the Normandy. They felt comfortable with each other to talk about almost everything. The fact that she got nervous about telling him something, meant that he wasn't going to like what was coming. So he didn't say anything, he just gave her a nod, expecting her to maybe end their romance because she had to focus on the war or that she still had feelings for Kaidan.
"Aria T'Loak wants me to help her retake Omega."
There was a long pause as he needed a few seconds to let what she just said sink in. Omega was the last thing on his mind. The station was overrun and occupied by Cerberus a couple of months ago, giving them a huge advantage by bolstering their mobility throughout the Galaxy.
He was watching her closely but remained silent as she continued...
"I met with Aria the last time we were on the Citadel, she has some kind of plan and wants me there for ground support...in return she will give us weapons, mercs and eezo for the war against the reapers."
Another pause.
"Also she wants me to go alone, without any of my crew."
Now he was the one starting to get nervous and pacing around the room. He didn't like this. He didn't like this at all. If there was one thing he learned from his Archangel days on Omega, it was that Aria could not be trusted. She was ruthless and only used people for her personal gain. Also the station was full to the brim with Cerberus soldiers, sharpshooters and who knows what. There was no way of getting her out that easy if something went wrong, specially if she didn't take any of her crew.
"Please tell me your're not actually considering this." he finally said.
"I already have..and I'm going. I'll meet one of her men tomorrow after we dock on the Citadel, he will accompany me to Arias fleet at a secret location...I don't have much of a choice here Garrus...we need the Terminus Fleet."
The look in her eyes was resolute. At this point he knew that she didn't come to ask for his opinion or his permission. She already made up her mind. And of course she was doing it. How could he even think otherwise for a second.
"Okay. Fine. Then I'll go with you!" he insisted.
If there was no way of making her reconsider, then he had to go too. They were a team after all, and unlike Aria, she could actually trust him with her life. Everyone knew that they had a special bond, especially in combat. He could read her bodylanguage like no one else, knowing what she was about to do before doing it. She didn't have to give him orders, one look was enough for him to know what she was thinking. They complemented one another so well on the battlefield that she usually took him on the most important missions or if things got dangerous. With his insight knowledge on Omega it would only make sense to bring him along.
She took a few steps towards him before softly shaking her head.
"You can't, I'm sorry, I have to do this alone...Also the rest of the crew doesn't know yet and I want it to keep it that way until I get back. No need to worry them"
He didn't want to argue with her, but he was starting to get frustrated.
"Well then I wish you hadn't told me either, how am I supposed to just let you leave and be okay with it!" he snorted out.
Neither of them said anything for a while.
When Shepard was about to finally break the silence her omnitool started beeping, attracting her attention.
"Priority call from the Citadel" she said. "I have to take this in the comm room."
Not the best timing, but it could be important, so he just gave her another nod as she started to walk towards the door.
"Jane..."
She stopped and turned to look at him with startled eyes. She must have been as suprised as he was, because it was the first time he ever called her by her first name. For a second he thought it might have been inappropriate, but he didn't care. If there was anyone in the galaxy to call her Jane it was him.
"I don't want anything to happen to you" he said gently while closing the gap between them, grabbing her hands.
"I'll be fine, I promise" she assured him with a half smile. "I have to go, but we'll talk later okay?"
And with that she was out the door before he even had the chance to answer.
Garrus let out a long sigh.
Part of why he loved her is that she did absolutly everything to win this war. And everything appearently included retaking Omega. He had to respect her decision, even if he hated it.
However, until she got back safely he would be a nervous wreck.

Trivia Night
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harrison Osterfield x Reader
General audiences
Warnings: None
Just a little drabble based on a dream I had. Blame it on @tomsrebeleyebrow she encourages the insanity. Such a bad influence, honestly *shakes head dissaprovingly* 😂💖
It was loud inside the pub, and your table was probably the loudest of all. Trivia was almost over and you knew your team at the very least had to be coming pretty fucking close to winning. The price wasn't much, just the tab, and that sum of money meant nothing to the people sitting with you, but the boys were very competitive. And to tell the truth, so where you after a couple of pints… and you had definitely had way more than that.
It was the very first trivia night you had been invited to, and to be honest you had been a little nervous to meet with all of Harrison's closest friends at once. It had been unnecessary, since they had all been kind and welcoming, but you knew that if you helped them finally win first place, they were going to love you forever. And your boyfriend's mates approval meant a lot to you. For once in your life, the tons of useless knowledge and obscure sci-fi references you possessed might be able to actually help your love life. It was unheard of and it made you very excited.
"Ok, so last question" Sam read, voice slightly slurred, "'This fictional intelligence agency features heavily on the Marvel cinematic universe. What does its acronym stand for: a, Special Headquarters Investigating Enhanced Logistic Department; b, Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division; or c, Strategic Headquarters Investigating the Enforcement of Logistics Division?"
You watched Tom's alcohol reddened face drain of all it's color as everyone in your table looked expectantly at him. He cursed,
"I can't- I can't remember" He confessed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "I never… I always… I can never remember this!"
"Come on, mate, are you serious?"
"You're joking. Please tell me you're messing with us!" Harry implored his older brother. Tom shrugged apologetically.
"I'm sorry!"
A hail of paper balls rained down over his head, as both twins and your boyfriend threw their dirty napkins at him.
"You bloody twat! You're embarrassing us in front of the lady! If you make us look like losers tonight I swear-"
Your decidedly unladylike snort drew everyone's attention to you.
"Pluh-ase, I already know you guys are a bunch of losers! Get out of the way, and let 'the lady' show you how it's done…"
You took the sheet from Sam's hands and confidently marked the right answer before returning it.
"Are you absolutely sure?" He inquired, somehow skeptical.
You rolled your eyes,
"Dude, of course I'm sure. It's like, nerd 101, S.H.I.E.L.D means Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division. Honestly," You added, pinning Tom with a look, "you are a disgrace to all nerd kind"
A chorus of "oooh" resonated through the table. The boys had been teasing each other all night, but it was the first time you had dared to, and they seemed pleasantly impressed. The teasing and laughing continued as a waitress picked up the quiz answer sheets from the tables, and you arched a brow at the shamelessly flirty smile she gave Harrison.
"Incredible" Tom complained loudly, "Five blockbuster superhero movies. Five. And I am still invisible next to this guy!" He poked your boyfriend in the ribs.
"Huh?"
"He means the waitress, babe" You explained your clueless boyfriend, "She was making eyes at you. You really didn't notice?"
He shook his head,
"I was too busy looking at the prettiest girl in the bar" He said, eyes never leaving yours.
"Aweeeee" Three ironic voices intoned.
"Don't listen to them," You leaned in to capture Harrison's lips with yours, "You are so getting laid tonight"
You heard someone choke on his beer, as Sam's voice commented,
"Ok, now I feel sorry for us…"
You broke the kiss, laughing.
"Then behave yourselves, and I might introduce you to some of my friends"
"Oh, no, don't do that, love!" Haz argued, "they are your friends! Why would you do such a thing to them?"
"Oi!"
"Fuck you, Osterfield!"
"Hush, no, you two! They're about to announce the winner!"
The racket inside the bar died down, as the little crowd patrons turn their eyes, expectantly, to the leader of the three people trivia committee. The music was turned down as he bellowed,
"Ladies and gents and non binary mates, it is my pleasure to annunciate tonight's Trivia winner" He unfolded a piece of paper, pausing for dramatic effect as some people produced drum rolls by beating the top of the tables with their pens, "Table number eight, "The Mary Janes"!"
"YES!!"
"HELL, YEAH, I KNEW IT! I BLOODY KNEW IT!!"
You gaped in confusion how your table mates jumped from their seats and yelled triumphantly. Tom pulled you up for a hug.
"Wait, what? Your team is called 'The Mary Janes'?" You scream in his ear to be heard above the ruckus
Tom shrugged as he released you,
"Zendaya named us, and who are we to argue?"
That was a valid point, but you didn't have much time to ponder it, as Haz tugged on your arm with enough force to turn you around and crash you into his chest.
"We never won first place before," He wrapped one of his arms around your waist, his free hand coming to rest palm open against the side of your neck, thumb softly caressing your jaw, "this is all thanks to you"
Before you could answer, his lips were on yours again, and he was dipping you low, in a kiss worthy of any classic Hollywood movie, for all the pub to see. You could hear cheers and whistles, but it was hard to feel self conscious with his tongue borrowing its way between your teeth, claiming your mouth like his very own personal prize.
When he finally released you, your head was swimming.
"Awe, come on! I want a celebration kiss too!" Tom's cheeky voice complained, a little closer than you were expecting, his alcohol smelling breath hot against your ear.
It sobered you up like a cold water bucket. He was clearly drunk, and you had long ago learned he was just a natural flirt and didn't mean anything by it. But Harrison was a little bit of the possessive kind. Even the twins stopped clapping, sensing the sudden tension.
Haz took a step towards his friend, placing his body between you and Tom. The whole pub seemed to freeze, anticipating your boyfriend's reaction.
Haz met your eye over his shoulder, throwing a wink in your direction.
"Wha-"
Before Tom could react, two big hands were on either side of his face, holding him in place… as Harrison planted the sloppiest, loudest, most ridiculous kiss right on his horrorized best friend's mouth.
A beat passed, then two, until twin barks of laughter broke you out of your stupor, and you doubled over, cracking up as the entire pub went wild.
"How is that for a celebration kiss?"
Tom didn't answer, instead choosing to take his glass from the table and down the rest of his beer in one gulp, soon as your boyfriend let go of him, of course.
"Oh, come on now! Don't act as if that wasn't the best snog of your life!"
Tom turned his big, traumatized stare on you,
"That's the worst part: I think you might be right!"
Another fit of laughter cracked through your body, tears streaming down your cheeks, completely out of control. God, how you loved these silly London boys!
The end.

beginners guide to the beatles
made one of these a long time ago but i'm surprised by how short it was. so here we go again. doing it right this time lol.
Tumblr media
pov: you told a bad joke and now the beatles are judging you.
john winston lennon. later in his life known as john winston ono lennon.
Tumblr media
born on october 9, 1940
i believe in astrology bc how does john just happen to be a libra
when john was four he started living with his aunt mimi who acted more as his mother figure
his mother, julia, remarried and would visit him quite a bit.
it was julia who taught john how to play banjo and piano. and she bought his first guitar.
they both had a deep love for music and rock n roll
he never really thought of her as his mother but more as a cool friend i suppose
aunt mimi was more rough on him and did the disciplining
his father was never really present growing up and his uncle passed away when he was young
he thought he was a curse for the men in his family
he had five half siblings. two of them, julia and jacqueline, he was pretty close to. the other three he barely knew.
fashion icon.
hated school but loved art
very early on he was insecure with himself
teachers always shit on him and said he would go nowhere in life
he met paul at a church fete on july 6, 1957
paul taught him how to play guitar properly.
once told paul that he didnt know how paul carried on after his mother died bc he just didn't think he could do it
john’s mother died from being hit by an off duty policemen. john was seventeen at the time.
he took her death really hard and became a bit of a recluse.
first serious relationship was with cynthia (we stan her)
once cynthia cut her hair short and he didn't talk to her for two days.
hate men. kill all men.
when he asked her to dance at a party she turned him down saying that she was engaged, and so he said “well i didn't ask you to fucking marry me, did i?”
slapped her once bc he was drunk and another boy was talking to her.
only time her hit her.
read cynthia’s books about john pls. i beg.
once a psychic told him that he would be shot in the states.
founder of the beatles and also came up with the name.
instruments he could play: guitar, harmonica, rhythm guitar, banjo, keyboard, piano, saxophone, bass guitar, and a little drums.
main songwriter in the beatles along with paul.
was more open minded to change in the beatles music.
was insecure in his relationship with paul after a while bc he thought he only needed him for songwriting.
would bitch about paul all day long but the second anyone else said something about him he’d be on their ass.
had a lot of issues and needed a good hug.
suffered from eating disorders, drug addictions, depression, insecurities, and questioned his sexuality bc of the time.
was super open minded and ahead of his time in many instances.
once he was called “the fat beatle” and after that he stopped eating as much.
truly loved his first son, julian lennon, and would buy him presents all the time bc he was excited to see him play with them.
“your famous ex husband”
he enjoyed playing monopoly.
he once claimed that he saw a ufo.
he had written three books but he always wanted to write a children's book.
the last song he ever performed in front of a live audience was “i saw her standing there.” with elton john.
he was afraid of the dark.
found out later in his life that he was dyslexic.
was also legally blind without glasses.
never could catch a break huh.
said that his best lyric ever was “all you need is love” i agree.
the first time yoko and john met was not at her art exhibit but actually when she approached him about giving away songs for free.
wanted to write a musical with paul.
once a friend dared him to masturbate ten times in one day and he managed to do it nine times.
would hold circle jerks with paul and a few other friends.
just dudes being dudes.
went on a holiday with brian epstein, who was gay, and told some people afterward that they did certain sexual things. but we will never know for sure.
yoko says that john was bisexual.
once in an interview he said that he would of married a rich man or woman if he wasn't in the beatles.
hated his voice on records. would always ask for effects on his voice for final recordings.
made a film with yoko where it was just his penis going from flaccid to erect for fifteen minutes in slow motion.
only beatle not to of become a vegetarian while he was alive.
murdered on december 8, 1980.
gave his autograph earlier in the day to the man who would murder him.
died at the age of 40.
“all my loving” was played while he was at the hospital.
and its spooky bc a lot of times in interviews he would say “when i'm 40..”
and it’s sad bc he was finally becoming who he truly wanted to be.
honorable john moments that i love:
“thanks for the purpler hearts” he says while receiving the silver heart
“you are the first person from liverpool that i've ever seen” “great”
eric lennon on my mind today
this come together performance where he messed up the lyrics lol
that interview where paul was sick and john keep checking on him
john lennon speaking nothing but facts
when he said that he could see the beatles going separate ways but that they'd always come back together.
SHUT UP
“shut up while he’s talking..”
this interview breaks my heart sometimes
and this interview is great as well
sir james paul mccartney
Tumblr media
born on june 18, 1942
if you ever have spare time just check out this man’s natal chart.
idk how he’s still alive with his chart tbh.
he has a younger brother named mike and a step sister named ruth.
his dad thought he was the ugliest baby he’d ever seen when he was born.
when he was young paul would kill frogs in a way to prepare himself for the war if he ever was drafted.
the first instrument he ever learned to play was the trumpet.
I don't even want to list every instrument this man can play but trust me when I say it’s a lot.
but for the beatles he mainly did bass, vocals, and piano. sometimes playing the guitar and the drums.
the beatles was just paul moving really, really fast.
he lost his mother when he was 14 due to surgery for breast cancer.
never really learned how to cope well with loss of a loved one tbh.
had the cutest chubby cheeks as a kid tbh
met john and was accepted into his band
sometimes they'd ditch school together and either work on music or would visit art galleries.
went to paris with john and john bought him all the banana milkshakes that he wanted.
connected over their love and admiration for music, and bc they had both lost their mothers.
had a girlfriend’s mom who he would make comb his leg hairs.
was an ass to his first girlfriend.
kill all men again.
almost had to marry his girlfriend dot bc she was pregnant, but she ended up losing the baby.
was the one who introduced george harrison to john.
practically despised pete best and stuart stutcliffe bc they were bringing the group down.
got arrested along with pete best bc they lit a condom on fire in hamburg.
still felt awful and a little guilty when stuart died suddenly.
main force behind the beatles imo.
without him we’d have not as much beatles music as we do.
was dating jane asher throughout majority of the sixties.
when they first met they talked about syrup and paul fell in love.
they broke things off after she walked in on him sleeping with another woman though.
directed magical mystery tour and it was amazing and I don't care what anyone says ok?
when john divorced cynthia he was the only one not scared of john and went against his wishes of not speaking to cynthia.
was a little controlling at times.
has a good heart though.
mal evans had to drive him home once after a beatles sessions bc he was crying so hard.
was talking about getting the band back to touring when john said he was leaving the group.
everyone kind of turned against him when the beatles were breaking up and i hate it.
he just wanted what was best for the band.
married linda and had a nice little farm.
we love that story.
linda i'm free thursday if you want to hang out pls.
started up the whole “no meat monday” thing where you don't eat monday on mondays
food meat. not the other kind of meat.
children: james mccartney, stella mccartney, heather mccartney, mary mccartney, and beatrice mccartney.
rip martha.
WINGS!!
he lost linda in 1998 due to cancer.
cried for a whole year bc of it.
still has dreams about john and says they're nice.
wrote a sad song about john called “here today.”
really loved john. like..he truly, genuinely did.
want someone to love me like paul does john.
“think of me every now and then old friend.”
honorable paul moments:
his story about george’s dad
“john? he was beautiful. very beautiful.”
humpty dumpty rap

but he was often referred to as “the quiet beatle”
formed another band called the traveling wilburys
he’d answer questions online in the 2000′s and it’s the cutest thing ever and his answers break my heart too.
“what do you miss most about john lennon?” “john lennon.”
in 1999 a schizophrenic person broke into his house and stabbed him 40 times
thank god olivia was there bc she was the only braincell in the room
had to get a part of his lung taken out
died november 29, 2001 from lung cancer
ashes were scattered into the ganges river

My Favorite Movies
1. We we're soldier
Tumblr media
this movie is about soldiers doing their sworn duty in their country, they also do fighting to protect their territory and to avenge their comrade who died in their first encounter. they also tested their teamwork and their skills trained over time. and based on this movie the number of a group does not hinder to win, what is needed to win is brain and strategy to succeed in a mission. and in this movie I saw how to really lead a leader who is ready to accompany his comrades until death. and he even said that he will be the first to land on the battle field and he will also be the last to leave there, he said where can he promise he can take home everything with life. but he promised that he would bring them all home, dead or alive.
2. World War Z
Tumblr media
in this movie I learned a lot lesson that I am applying now pandemic. not because we have a pandemic facing it is like the end of the world and we are giving up. we need to fight this disease and discover a cure that can cure this disease. we must also not lose hope and just trust those who know how to make a disease medicine to come to our country. we must also take part in what they are doing to speed up the process and help us to speed up the eradication of diseases that have ruined our country .what we do not need to do is what we should not do to avoid this disease. so that we are not infected and we are far from this disease.
3. End Game
Tumblr media
this movie is one of the many lessons because many heroes sacrificed their lives just to save the world from the threat of the enemy tanos. but they were able to stop and defeat it but it is sad to think that many heroes died like iron man before beating tanos and many heroes also suffered because of the hardship they went through before beating tanos. Here I see that even your father can not be trusted sometimes, because they can also harm you or kill you. and even a brother can't be trusted because he can still be a traitor. then the lessons I learned here do not trust even if it is your parents or siblings, because they can harm you when they are in need. and you have to trust your teammates and yourself before you do or do anything.
Who Am I
Tumblr media
Hi guys! I am John but my friends call me kuys tons or buddy. My sports is Arnis , I want to play Arnis because playing Arnis make me feel better. Actually playing Arnis is part of of my life, because I do it everyday even now pandemic. My achievements in playing Arnis as I became a 2x cavraa player ,second done brownbelt my friends increased and I was able to go to different places. So I really thank the people who convinced me to play Arnis. My age is 17, My favorite food is paksiw bangus , especially if my dad cooked it. The status of my love life, let's just say that I was taken , because a woman captured my heart and make my heart beat faster. The woman I am referring to is , she has everything I am looking for in a woman. I am closer to my mother because we do more works together and my dad is always angry , which is ok , because they say that if your parents don't scold you, they don't love you. And I'm also close to my grandmother, because she gives me everything I want and she always protect me when my parents scold me. My favorite restaurant is almost all , because my parents said, that what food is on the table you need to eat it. Because many families are hungry here in our country. My favorite actors are babalu and dolphy , because their movies make me feel better and happy, when I have a problem or I am sad. And my height is 5,6, I am the smallest in our family. My parents have a 3 children and I'm the youngest . I want to be with my friends , because the fun is different when they are the ones with me to do nonsense, and make happy memories on the road. The ones I don't like about people are plastic ,liars ,rude and disrespectful to the elderly.I finished my junior highschool at Cataggaman national highschool ,that school is the best and amazing. Because you will experience a lot of things . The students are amiable. The teachers there are very understanding and terrific when it comes to their students and they are good at teaching , so I am very proud and jubilant , that I finished my junior highschool at Cataggaman. My hobbies are eating , buying clothes and playing basketball with my friends. My weight before pandemic was 50 and my weight is now at 50-51 . Actually this is the first time , I will introduce myself with a used app , so I am nervous how will I do it . Those are the things about my self , I hope you will enjoy it while reading .
My Favorite Person
My favorite person is the one I am courting "Jane" her smile is charming I met her unexpectedly since that day I have always been with her I always know her the kind of woman who is not hard to love because she is very sensible, loving, graceful and clingy but just right for a woman who is very attractive. Because of this woman I have learned to be helpful, and to have the fear of God because since that day I have always included her in my prayers. She also makes me happy every time I am sad even though with simple conversation with Her makes me happy. Even though I have been waiting for her more than a year, I still do not give up because she is the only one I dream to be with for the rest of my life. So my message to men like me is just to learn to wait and how to be resilient in all the trials of life because if you love someone you will do everything.💕💯
#lovewithoutlimits❤️
#captureallthegoodmemories❤️
My Family
Everyone loves their family so do I. In my family there are eight members my mother, father, grandmother, younger sister,my aunt, my cousin, and me. My parents love and pampered both of us. In addition, my family is very supportive and helpful for anything we do. Besides, every child has dreams and aspiration so we also have some dreams too. In addition, not everyone is lucky enough to get their family to support them. But, I am one of those lucky people who get full support from their families.
My family is my guide to my dreams they also make me happy. I have a mother who, despite the hardships of life, did not give up but worked hard to provide for our daily needs and food. My father was also there who spent all his time working to help us and we could all go to good school, even though our father was far away from us we could still feel his love for his family. And of course I will not forget my siblings who have their own jobs, they also help with expenses, they also help me with schoolwork. My cousin who is beautiful, she is the closest to me and we always get along with all the houseworks. There is my grandmother who is caring and loving, I admit we often do not understand each other but I love my grandmother very much, I pray that she will stay on earth for a long time so that in the future we will reciprocate her suffering when we were children. I am so thankful to God that I have a family like this.

I'm so happy that you love Folklore too! It's not just my favorite Taylor Swift album, but easily one of by favorite albums, full stop :) Here's a fun challenge: which Folklore songs remind you of a certain ship? So is there a Folklore song that makes you think of literati? Another one that makes you think of a Grey's ship? A third that makes you think of Elizabeth/Darcy? A fourth that reminds you of Klaroline and - I'll shut up, you get the idea :) Pick any Folklore songs/ships you want!
Taylor Swift’s latest album is a masterclass of musical poetry and storytelling. Rarely do I download every song a musician puts out on a new album (I tend to pick and choose), but I can genuinely say I never hit DOWNLOAD so fast in my life before than I did with Folklore! I love all sixteen tracks! I’ve been listening to them on a loop for two days straight and I imagine that’s likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
Tumblr media
Also, YASSS! That is a fun challenge! It’s also one I can manage because I’ve been thinking about how certain songs/lyrics apply to many of my ships since I first started listening anyway. Prepare yourself. This is gonna be long. 😁
Okay SO, for Literati...
If I’m angling to lean into s3-s6 angst that was Rory and Jess at that point in the OG series, then I’d say the 1 is a good fit. That song has the same energy as someone who’s writing a goodbye letter to a loved one that will never be sent. It’s cleansing. Cathartic. An exorcism of feeling. It absolutely reeks of regret and longing with just a touch of look-back-over-your-shoulder-and-wish, just wish, that things could have been different:
“But we were something, don't you think so?”
“And if my wishes came true It would've been you“
“But it would've been fun If you would've been the one”
However, if I’m in more of a They’ll Come Back to Each Other mood with Literati then I think this is me trying screams Rory and Jess. That song emanates nostalgia! It’s haunting in tone (with the echoes, with some slight vibrato). The lyrics bleed with feeling, with emotion that should have rusted long ago but hasn’t. Love is still as red as it was at the beginning of everything only now...only now there’s realization and an attempt at atonement for past mistakes...
“I didn't know if you'd care if I came back I have a lot of regrets about that Pulled the car off the road to the lookout Could've followed my fears all the way down And maybe I don't quite know what to say But I'm here in your doorway“
It's hard to be anywhere these days When all I want is you You're a flashback in a film reel On the one screen in my town (the town, of course, made me think of Stars Hollow)
I just wanted you to know That this is me trying At least I'm trying
For Darcy and Elizabeth, I think seven works well for them in spots. If you listen to the song, there’s a little bit of an echoey timber to the way Taylor sings it and that gave me the sense of how classic love stories/literature kind of ripple across time, you know? How the pages may crinkle or yellow over the years, but they still leave their mark. Plus, there’s also the piano in the background. Almost feather light. It mixes with what sounds like violins in places. Idk, it has a slight P&P 2005 vibe about it to me:
“Please picture me in the weeds Before I learned civility” >> (Because did Darcy learn civility before or after Lizzie eviscerated him mid-proposal at Rosings? Did Lizzie learn to temper her prejudice before or after Lydia ran away with Wickham?)
“Passed down like folk songs Our love lasts so long“ >> (Elizabeth says herself she’s going to be happier than Jane because “[she] laughs; [her sister] only smiles.”)
I have a couple for Klaroline, too. hoax jumped out at me for them first because it’s layered with darkness and angst. The imagery pops. It’s all smoking guns and eclipsed suns and screaming on cliffsides; which, for a pair of supernaturals, and for an Original who has a history of leaving blood in his wake, I think some visuals of misery and violence are a fitting thing. I’m also obsessed with the piano in this. The way she strokes her fingers over the keys - quick tap, tap, taps then a slow one or two in places - gives you a sense of running. It’s a great parallel to her lyric about “sleepless nights.” Here are some other Klaroline-heavy lyrics in this song:
“You knew it still hurts underneath my scars From when they pulled me apart But what you did was just as dark Darling, this was just as hard As when they pulled me apart” >> (This whole section just booms with “I’ve shown kindness. Forgiveness. Pity. For you, Caroline It was all for you” energy.)
“Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in Don't want no other shade of blue But you No other sadness in the world would do“
peace is the other song that had me crying in Klaroline. I like the softness of it, the vulnerability. I imagine it more from Klaus’s perspective, though, because it strikes me as more confessional in nature. Like it’s a revelation that’s being dragged across his teeth and he wants to scream. Almost as if these aren’t necessarily feelings he wants to share, or wants known, but there’s just no holding them back now. He’s thrown off the lid. Caroline needs to be able to walk toward him with her eyes wide open, so he only speaks truth, he only speaks honesty now. Similar to hoax, this song has darker imagery as well. There’s fire and fences and trenches and all that jazz:
“Your integrity makes me seem small You paint dreamscapes on the wall“ >> (Same energy as “you’re strong, beautiful, full of light.”)
“And you know that I'd Swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches” >> (basically a promise that he’d fight FOR her and WITH her)
“But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret“ >> (THIS IS THE PART THAT HITS ME THE MOST BC so much of Klaus’s love is shown not spoken, so yeah, he dies for her in secret all. the. time. already. There are 5 other ways I could interpret that as well. But I will spare you haha)
“The devil's in the details
“Would it be enough If I could never give you peace?” >>With supernatural enemies everywhere, there won’t be much peace, will there?
I get walloped with Braime/Jaime and Brienne feels every time I listen to epiphany. Like, it’s actually rude how much this song makes me think of them. I can close my eyes and hear their swords clanging, taste the blood of their injuries on my tongue; feel the ash claw their throats, sting their eyes. Just--ah! The two of them serving, fighting back-to-back, two knights with an unspoken oath to protect a love they haven’t even voiced out loud yet...*cries*
“Only twenty minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief To make some sense of what you've seen
“With you, I serve With you, I fall down Down Watch you breathin' Watch you breathin' out Out“
invisible strings makes me think of Shirbert/Anne and Gilbert. I love the pluck of guitar strings and how it has this air of innocence and sunshine and green grasses about it even though it’s being told/sung from a hilltop of experience. There’s so much imagery in this song, so much color and figurative language, that I can’t help but think it’s perfect for our imaginative dreamy-eyed girl and the boy who’s adored her since he first tugged her pigtails and called her Carrots in that schoolroom:
“Green was the color of the grass Where I used to read at Centennial Park >> (Can’t you just picture Anne lying in the grass, a book in her hand, flowers in her hair?) I used to think I would meet somebody there Teal was the color of your shirt When you were sixteen at the yogurt shop“
“Time, curious time Gave me no compasses, gave me no signs Were there clues I didn't see?“
“Wool to brave the seasons One single thread of gold Tied me to you“ >> (Love the warmth and vibrancy of this. The wool makes me think of Avonlea blanketed in snow; the gold has me drinking sunshine, smelling goldenrod in October)
“Time, wondrous time Gave me the blues and then purple-pink skies“
“And isn't it just so pretty to think All along there was some Invisible string Tying you to me?“ (Love the idea of the string representing their friendship, how it never snipped. How it only braided together, growing tauter, closer, all the time.)
august hits me with a waterfall of Darvey/Donna and Harvey feels. There’s a wistfulness about this song that settles in my gut, twisting it with longing, with musings of all those Almosts in relationships that were so close to coming to fruition then never did. It’s so incredibly reminiscent of how Donna and Harvey toe the lie between friends and almost lovers who-are-nearly-there-but-not-quite for 12 years. IT HURTS SO GOOD.
“Back when we were still changin' for the better >> (THIS IS SO EMOTIONALLY RESONANT IT HURTS) Wanting was enough For me, it was enough To live for the hope of it all Canceled plans just in case you'd call”
But I can see us lost in the memory August slipped away into a moment in time 'Cause it was never mine And I can see us twisted in bedsheets August sipped away like a bottle of wine 'Cause you were never mine >> (Obviously I’m swimming in the angst of this until my fingers get all pruny.)
Finally there’s mirrorball which is Jisbon/Jane and Lisbon all the way! It’s funny because when I first listened to Folkore I thought that’d be one of the last songs I’d pair with a ship?? YET HERE I AM. Jane was in the carnival circuit growing up and I cannot, for the life of me, stop attaching him to all the descriptions of the circus/revelry. So much of his schtick throughout the show comes down to trickery and observation, which he uses to size people up, and sarcasm, which he often employs as a defense mechanism to keep people at an emotional distance. I like the theme of this song for him and Lisbon. As the mirrorball, he’s shining his true self only for her. She’s the only person who sees his “shattered edges”; she’s not distracted by all his “glistening.” Here are my favorite lyrics that are applicable to them:
“I'm a mirrorball I'll show you every version of yourself tonight
“I can change everything about me to fit in You are not like the regulars The masquerade revelers Drunk as they watch my shattered edges glisten” >> (Okay, so this makes me think Jane’s on camera confession to Erica Flynn: “I’m looking for someone who…uh, someone I can trust. Someone strong. Someone at peace with themselves. Someone better than me. Someone who knows the…worst side of me and still loves me.")
“And they called off the circus, burned the disco down When they sent home the horses and the rodeo clowns I'm still on that tightrope I'm still trying everything to get you laughing at me”
“I'm still on that trapeze I'm still trying everything to keep you looking at me“
I will stop there because otherwise I could sit here analyzing songs and ships for the rest of my life, boring you to tears haha. Thanks for this, lovely! (And obviously I’d love to hear some of your song/ship matchups as well!) xx

Happy Mother's Day! (Chendy Fanfic)
After spending such a great day with my mom yesterday, I decided to write something about Mother’s Day to honor her and all the other great mothers out there.
Somehow I caught myself writing this scene which will be included in one of my stories, but I wanted to post it now.
I know many people love the idea of Chelia and Wendy ending up together in the future. I’ve already made an appreciating post explaining how I feel about these two, but now I decided to try actually writing them together.
I think both of them will make amazing and loving mothers and their baby will sure be a lucky one.
For this story, I’m considering that they adopted a sweet baby girl named Jane. I'm picturing her as looking similar to Master Mavis, with blonde hair and green eyes.
Happy reading!
Title: All She Needs Is Love
Pairings: Chelia x Wendy (Chendy)
Summary: A few weeks after adopting their daughter, Wendy questions whether she will make a good mother. Thankfully, Chelia is there to comfort her and reassure her that she doesn't need to worry about it.
Timeline: This story is about 10 years after the Alvarez Arc. Therefore, Wendy's  around 24 while Chelia is 26.
Word Count: 580
                                             All She Needs Is Love
"Is she asleep?" Chelia came into the nursery to find Wendy sitting on the rocking chair with Jane, who was wrapped in her favorite blanket as the owner of the orphanage had told them.
"Almost." The dragon slayer sighed, momentarily closing her eyes.
"When the others said that having a baby means never sleeping again, I thought that they were exaggerating." Chelia remarked while plopping herself down on the pink armchair near the crib.
"I know." Wendy looked down at the sleepy baby in her arms. "It's like she really doesn't want to go to sleep."
"But she seems so tired." Chelia glanced at Jane, who smiled and lifted an arm.
"Maybe you'll have better luck than me." Wendy stood up and handed her the baby before they exchanged seats. As the god slayer started rocking their daughter, Wendy smiled.
"You're so good with her." Chelia shrugged.
"I've had experience with Aimee." Aimee was Sherry and Ren's 10 years old daughter.
"I had too, with everyone's kids, but I just don't feel that connection with her." Wendy sighed, frustrated.
"You should give it time, Wendy." Chelia told her, gently. "I'm sure that you'll be able to connect with Jane."
"What if I don't?" The dragon slayer asked. "What if I'm just not meant to be a mother?"
"Don't say that." Chelia shook her head.
"It's how I feel." She removed one arm from around the baby in order to take Wendy's hand, squeezing it.
"You're just feeling like that because of your mother." The dragon slayer looked away.
"I don't want to be like her." Chelia offered a reassuring smile.
"I know you won't. You would never abandon Jane." Looking back towards her daughter, who was now thankfully asleep, Wendy frowned.
"Of course not. What mother would abandon her own daughter?" The question had been plaguing her mind ever since she had learned the truth about her mother.
"A bad one." Chelia answered before standing up and approaching Jane's crib. Very carefully, she placed the infant inside before approaching Wendy again and wrapping her in a tight hug. “You need to stop doubting yourself, Wendy. I know you’ll make a great mother.”
The dragon slayer gratefully accepted the hug before sighing. “But how can you be so sure?”
Chelia pulled apart, a bright smile on her face. “Because I know you. You’ve got so much love to give and that’s all Jane needs right now.”
Wendy couldn’t hold in a smile of her own. “How is it that you always not exactly what to say?”
“I learned it from Sherry. She’s great at comforting people.” The god-slayer shrugged as both chuckled.
“Well, thank you.” Wendy leaned forward to press a soft kiss against her lips.
Afterwards, Chelia looked back towards their daughter. “Now, how about we try getting some sleep before this little angel wakes us up?”
Wendy glanced one last time at the adorable baby before turning to her partner. “I like that idea.”
They shared a smile before holding each other’s hand as they quietly left the room, turning off the light and closing the door behind them.
They lingered at the door for a few moments to make sure that Jane really was asleep and let out relieved sighs once there were no sounds.
Wendy hadn’t expected that having a child would be so difficult, but she knew that as long as Chelia was there to chase her doubts and fears away, everything would be okay.

I'm still breathing, Chapter 14
TITLE: I’m still breathing CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Chapter 14 AUTHOR: fanficshiddles ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine a mutant has been living on the streets for years, until she is picked up by the Avengers. She’s taken to live with them so they can help her to discover what her powers are. Loki especially, takes an interest in her. The two become very fond of one another as they discover what her power is. RATING: M
Sophie woke up the following morning with a headache again after the amount of alcohol she drank the previous night. She was still in her clothing from last night too, having just fell into bed and passed out.
When she sat up, she noticed Loki sitting on her bed too. He was on top of the covers and smirked at her.
‘What?’ She groaned and fell down on her back again.
‘You were very drunk last night. Do you remember the end of the night?’ He leaned over and pressed his palm to her forehead, concentrating on taking away the pain for her.
‘Thanks… Not really. I remember dancing with you, then taking more shots that Wanda gave me.’ Sophie rolled onto her side to look at him.
Loki lay down on his side too and reached out to stroke the tips of his fingers down her cheek. ‘So, you don’t remember when we were making our way back here?’ He grinned.
Sophie frowned. ‘No… I didn’t do anything stupid did I? Oh god, what did I do?’ She panicked.
‘No, you didn’t.’ Loki laughed. ‘However, you did fall through a wall.’
Sophie took a second to process what he said. ‘I… What?’ She was mortified. Thinking that she had broken through dry wall or something. ‘I didn’t realise I was that strong? Did I do a lot of damage?’
Loki laughed again. ‘Not like that. You simply phased through it.’
She just looked at him with utter confusion written all over her face.
‘Once you get showered and dressed, I will show you what I mean. I’ve called for a meeting with everyone in the surveillance room.’
Sophie had the quickest shower ever, then threw on some clean clothes and chucked her hair up in a ponytail.
‘Impressive.’ Loki commented as they made their way from her room to the surveillance room.
When there, Loki pulled up the security footage of the corridor from last night. It showed Loki turning around to bid Thor goodnight, with Sophie skipping along happily until she stumbled and fell towards the wall. She put her hands out to save herself but simply went straight through the wall instead.
‘Holy shit!’ Sophie’s hand flew over her mouth as she watched in shock at what she did.
‘I also had my suspicions, remember that night in the library? You were asleep on the floor?’ Loki said, typing in another date and time into the system to get another clip.
‘Yeah…’ Sophie trailed off, not entirely sure where he was going with it.
The rest of the team were just watching on in shock too.
The clip Loki showed next, Sophie was on the sofa in the library. She fell asleep and fell straight through the side of the sofa, onto the floor. She’d been in such a deep sleep which is why she never woke when she hit the floor.
‘I think this is why you ended up under the bed too.’ Loki said, turning off the clip.
‘So… I can go through things? But I don’t even know how I did it?’ Sophie looked at Loki, then the others. Who looked just as baffled as Sophie was.
Clint gave her a gentle pat on the back. ‘Well, that’s what we will work on. Help train you to do it without needing to put any thought into it. We’ll help you get it figured out, kid. Don’t worry.’
‘Thanks guys.’ Sophie smiled.
Later that day, Sophie was in the living room reading up on mutant’s history. Something she hadn’t exactly wanted to know about, but with being one she thought it might be best to learn about her history. But she felt her stomach sinking in fear as she did. The realisation that the new laws to protect mutants were still very new. And what with Fury acting all weird on SHIELDs behalf, she was really worried that they were going to use her like some lab rat.
‘You look worried, poppet. What’s wrong?’ Loki asked upon entering the room.
Sophie held up the book to show him the front cover.
‘Ah. I really wish you hadn’t read that.’ He said, concerned as he motioned for her to scoot over so he could sit next to her.
‘I know. I wish I hadn’t either. But I really wanted to know about my history, you know? I mean, it’s good that it’s come so far and there are laws to protect us now. But it’s still a bit scary not knowing what SHIELD really want with me.’ She leaned her head on Loki’s shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her.
He kissed the top of her head. ‘I know, love. But you know we won’t let anything happen to you. You’re safe with me.’ He assured her.
‘I know. Thank you.’ She put the book down and wrapped her arms around Loki, hugging into him.
God, she was sure she would never tire of being held by him. In his strong arms, feeling so safe and content. How she’d went all her life thus far without affection was beyond her. She found herself craving it from Loki so much. She only hoped she wouldn’t become too clingy.
‘Now what’s wrong?’ Loki asked knowingly as he leaned back slightly and gripped her chin between his fingers.
‘How do you do that?’ Sophie asked.
‘Do what?’
‘You seem to know what I’m thinking.’ She smiled.
‘I can tell by your body language.’ He smirked cockily.
‘Damn. I’ll need to try and hide it better.’ She teased.
‘Come on, what are you thinking now?’
‘I was just starting to worry that I’m becoming too clingy with you.’ She admitted sheepishly. ‘I don’t want to bug you, ever!’
‘You know, I was worried about the same thing this morning.’ Loki laughed, relieved.
‘You were?’ Sophie’s eyes widened in realisation.
‘I tend to get rather… Possessive over people I love. Clingy too. I was worried I was going to scare you away.’ Loki reached up and stroked her cheek with the back of his hand, making her blush.
‘You… Love me?’
Loki faltered slightly, realising he’d let that word slip. Even though it was the truth. ‘Yes, I do.’ It was his turn for his cheeks to turn slightly red.
‘I love you too.’ Sophie whispered, making Loki smile.
Sophie and Loki were both on cloud nine after finally telling one another that they were in love. They made sure to tell each other every single opportunity they could. And most nights they fell asleep together, cuddled on the sofa in the living room or in the library.
Thor was over the moon for his brother. He’d never seen him so happy and in love before. It was clear how much Loki absolutely adored Sophie and vice versa. They were almost inseparable over the coming weeks.
They tried to train with Sophie, not only with her dagger and fighting skills but to try and get her powers under control. But she was struggling to make it happen. It happened, by accident a few times a week. One minute she was leaning against a wall, the next she was disappearing through it. Or she would be asleep in bed and then on the floor when she woke up.
The best one was once when Loki went to kiss her after teasing her about her height, but instead of kissing him she fell right through him. Which was a weird sensation for the both of them.
Pepper, Wanda and Natasha decided one Saturday night that Sophie needed a break from training. So they decided to take her out clubbing in the city. They were going to meet up with Jane, Darcy and Clint’s wife, Laura.
‘Are you sure it’s a good idea?’ Loki frowned while he watched Sophie straightening her hair, it was almost time for her to go with the girls.
‘I will be with one of the world’s most deadly assassins, an incredibly strong witch and some of the best scientists in the world. I’m sure I will be fine.’ Sophie grinned at him in the mirror, he was standing behind her, watching.
‘Oh, I do not doubt your safety in that aspect. But more so that Natasha is a bad influence on you when it comes to alcohol.’ Loki chuckled.
‘I know, but it will be fine.’ Sophie smiled.
Sophie was surprised with how much she enjoyed her night out with the girls. They were at the second club of the night, downing a bunch of shots and dancing around to club music.
They were talking about all the men and the conversation turned to Loki.
‘I still can’t get over how much Loki adores you, Sophie.’ Natasha said, hooking her arm around Sophie’s shoulder.
‘I guess I’m a lucky girl.’ Sophie shrugged, smiling.
Jane then spoke up. ‘Thor told me that he has never seen him so in love before. He’s so happy for you both, as we all are. But Thor really believes that Loki is turning a corner now.’
Sophie didn’t really know what to say to that, apart from blushing.
But Laura came to her defence. ‘Come on girls, we’re embarrassing her! She knows Loki loves her.’
Sophie gave her a smile as a silent way of thanking her. The conversation turned again to the other guys instead. But Sophie couldn’t deny how happy it made her feel inside, knowing that she was making a different to Loki’s life, just like he was for her.
Later on during the night, Sophie ended up with Natasha in the bathroom. They were fixing up their make-up.
‘Can I ask you something?’ Sophie asked Natasha.
‘Of course you can, chick. What’s up?’
‘I… I’m worried that Loki will lose interest in me. I mean, he’s not ever made a move on me yet. But I know that soon he will want sex. But I don’t know if and when I will be able to do that.’
Natasha stopped applying her lipstick and turned her full attention to the younger girl.
‘We weren’t lying when we said that he adores and loves you. Loki doesn’t seem the type to be after just one thing. We are surrounded by a great bunch of guys. I think if Loki was only interested in sex, you’d know about it by now. Why not talk to him about it? Are you nervous because it would be your first time?’
‘Well, not really that. I…’ Sophie sighed and looked down. ‘The one and only time a guy initiated sex with me, was because he was going to rape me.’ She blurted out quickly.
‘Oh, Sophie. I’m so sorry.’ Natasha’s face fell and she put her arm around her again.
‘It’s fine. Really. It was ages ago. But I just… I don’t know.’
‘Does Loki know?’
‘Yeah, I told him about it months ago.’ Sophie nodded.
‘Then I’m sure he already understands. But talk to him about it, see what his views are on the situation.’
‘Yeah, you’re right. I’m just being silly.’
‘Hey, you’re not being silly. You’ve been through a lot, it’s only natural.’ Natasha gave her an encouraging smile.
‘Thanks, Nat.’ Sophie smiled back at her and gave her a hug.
Loki had stayed up in the living room to wait for the girls returning. It was obvious when they had returned, as the noise they were making was enough to wake up the entire base.
He watched in amusement as they all stumbled through to the kitchen, hushing each other and trying to stay quiet but failing miserably. They had takeaway with them and all piled around the table to eat various kebabs, pakora, chips and pizza.
It always amazed Loki how much junk food they could all eat, yet still stay fit and healthy.
He crept up behind Sophie with no one noticing him. Until he put his hands onto her shoulders and whispered in her ear. ‘Welcome back, love.’
Sophie let out a screech in fright, making everyone else jump too.
‘Jesus! You scared me.’ Sophie put her hand over her heart.
‘Not Jesus, even better, God of mischief.’ Loki chuckled and pulled up a seat next to her, stealing some of her kebab meat.
‘How did you know we were back?’ She asked, frowning at him as he then stole some of her chips too.
‘You are all not exactly mice… More like elephants.’ Loki smirked, just as the rest of the team came through to see what all the noise was. All of their faces lit up when they saw the food.
The girls all growled and grumbled when the guys tried to steal their food. But in the end, it became a large feast with everyone around the table tucking in.
Even through her drunken haze, Sophie took in the scene. It was 2am and everyone was laughing and enjoying the food. She’d just had a great night out with the girls, her first time clubbing a great success. And she didn’t have any panic attacks. Now she had Loki’s arm around her waist as they shared food. She couldn’t believe how lucky she had become.
She was home.

I have a question: what exactly Homestuck is about? I remember trying to read this atrocity of a comics and failing utterly at it. I'm still curious what it was about. I mean a ton of people liked it for some unspeakable reason but why?
While Homestuck is officially split into 7 acts, it’s better to look at it as being three parts.
youtube
Part 1 (the first four acts), is about a bunch of kids playing a video game that transports them into a fantasy land while destroying all life on Earth. At the time, you could actually submit suggestions of things for characters to do, and Hussie would have them do the options he liked the most while guiding the story, making Homestuck one of the largest games of DnD in history, which is a big part of why early Homestuck is so fucking brutal to read now (it took me three tries to get past act 1). The appeal lay in the interactive elements, and the slow reveal of what the magical world of Sburb was all about and what the point of everything was. While Sburb followed video game rules, it was treated as mysterious and magical, and the mysteries were slowly peeled away one by one
youtube
Part 2 (Act V) is when the trolls start to take center stage. While there were still some mysteries (the biggest one being “How on Earth did Jade fuck up so bad that so much time travel had to happen), it became much more character-based, and a major subplot started about how one of the trolls - Vriska - was actively sabotaging everyone in a vaguely-religious crusade to make herself the most important self-insert Mary Sue in the story, a subplot that’s a lot more interesting that I’m making it out. This is the peak of Homestuck’s popularity and also, imo, it’s quality. There’s a very good sense of slow dread as the situation just gets worse and worse for all involved building up to a fantastic climax, with the “murderstuck” arc between [S] Wake and [S] Cascade being one of my all-time favorite webcomic storylines.
And then…
youtube
Act 6.
At this point, the story is basically 90% over. But Homestuck is a massive hit that raised millions of dollars for a game and had Dante Basco involved and serious talk of a TV Show adaption. It can’t just end! And, with Act 5 having ended with resetting the universe so that 4 different kids played the game, it’s time to to Homestuck….again! But, y’know, slower.
So, Act 1, notorious for it’s slow-even-for-Homestuck pacing and needing to establish all the rules of how the game works, has John arrive in the magical world after 250 panels.
Act 5 Act 1, which showed the entire adventure of all twelve trolls, skipped over information we already knew and did things out of order to take advantage of the fact that we all understood the rules already (and to dole out new information at an even pace), allowing it to introduce all the new characters, various complex relationships, and the big reveal of what Sburb is before wrapping up at a brisk 634 panels.
Act 6 has four kids (and two Cherubs) to introduce, and basically no more mysteries about Sburb. Everything is told in a chronological order with almost no wacky time-travel shenanigans. Jane sets foot in Sburb after 707 panels, longer than the entirety of Hiveswap. What was happening in those pages?
Tumblr media
People liked trolls, so there was a lot of time spent establishing Trolls with interesting storylines who, once being introduced, never did anything again, including two evil trolls, one Troll mind-controlled into being evil by her boyfriend, and a troll who did some mysterious thing that was crucial to ensure ultimate victory that was so mysterious we never actually learned what it was.
Tumblr media
Now, there were dramatic storylines like Rose becoming an alcoholic out of boredom (it’s a good sign when the last three years of your sci-fi adventure comic has all the characters constantly bored), and Terezi getting into an abusive relationship, but it all ended up being filler, because….
youtube
The retcon.
Christ.
Everyone in this house is drunk but me right now.
Okay.
So, John gets the power to change the past, which isn’t how time travel has worked in Homestuck up to this point. He is given a plan to go back and prevent Vriska from dying (Nepeta, Equuius, Feferi can fuck off I guess because none of them came back). He fucks the plan up, but it doesn’t actually matter because at this point in the story nothing matters and we were all fools to think it world. We get a montage of how Vriska being alive caused none of the dramatic plots to ever happen, and then….the comic….kind of…..ends? Vriska’s character development is undone, and she solves everyone’s problems and even steals her pre-retcon ghost’s girlfriend, and nothing ever goes wrong and the characters, who even in-story no longer give a shit about the plot, realize that the big bad never did anything bad to them personally so who gives a shit, and they escape into a frog and get some chumps to rebuild earth and restore the human and troll races because they kind of can’t be bothered.
It’s really hard to explain how terrible the ending was; the actual explicit canon ending of Homestuck is that the cast got bored of the plot and wandered off and maybe the someone killed the bad guy but we’re not sure because no one could be assed to check how the big battle ended.
What was left of Homestuck’s fanbase basically gave up at that point, and I don’t blame them at all. To the very end people were expecting a big twist because so many plot points weren’t being resolved, but nope. It just farts out of existence.
There was a sequel story on snapchat, but no one cared enough to install snapchat for it so it Jane got kidnapped and then it stopped updating.
I realize that I answered your question of “why did people like Homestuck” with “Why do people hate Homestuck now”, but it kind of is the same answer. Homestuck raised mysteries, and gave satisfying answers to enough of them that we were compelled to follow it to the end, only to realize we’d been Steven Moffated and the rest of the answers would never come.

Hi! Sorry if this is a bother, but do you happen to have a fic rec about your favourite Snamione/Lumione fics? :D I'm in need of some reading material tbh 😂
Hey! Oh, I can definitely give you some favs! I only recently got back into reading Snamione and Lumione, so I’m very behind on fics, and have a spreadsheet of like 200 fics of those two ships that I tell myself I’m going to read, if I ever have the time haha. I’ll give you the ones I’ve read so far that I really enjoyed. They’re mostly pretty long fics, because I tend to lean towards epic fics with loads of character development. If you do happen to read any of them, feel free to let me know what you thought! :D
I’m putting a keep reading bar because this got a lot longer than I expected it to.
For Snamione:
-Chasing the Sun by Loten. This is my #1 favorite Snamione slow burn so far. It’s pretty long, has a reallll long slow burn, but is SO worth it. I dare you to read the first 3 chapters and not be hooked with the background tale she weaves of Snape. And that’s all I’ll say about that one, otherwise I’ll write an entire essay on how much I friggin LOVED that fic.
-Post Tenabras, Lux also by Loten. This is another amazing one. Not as much of a slow burn, and it’s set 10 years post-war. But holy shit, it’s SO good. Loten is a genius writer, and she delves into the psychology and mental health of Severus and Hermione in such a beautiful way in both her longer fics. She portrays all the horrors of Snape’s past in a way that gives you all the feels, and then allows him to finally get the love and redemption that (I think) he always deserved. I walked around with a huge, goofy smile on my face the rest of the day when I finished both this and Chasing the Sun.
-Pet Project by Caeria. This is a long as HELL slow burn. Seriously, it’s like almost all slow burn, which got a bit frustrating at times, but also, I love the torture of slow burn, and this was torture of the utmost level. It’s one of those fics where you squeal in happiness the first time Snape doesn’t openly sneer at Hermione and instead just neutrally glares, that’s how slow of a burn it is haha. It’s so much fun to see Hermione trying to be on Snape’s side and have his back, while also not wanting him to know that’s what she’s doing. It takes forever for her to win him over, but that’s what makes it so captivating a read, at least for me.
-The Love You Take by Subersa. This is a very interesting fic, in that Hermione is cursed by Voldemort to be sexually bonded to the first man she sees when she wakes up. He means for it to be Dumbledore, but Dumbledore pushes Snape in front of her, instead. So, we start off the fic with Hermione being cursed to need sexual release from Snape on a VERY frequent basis. I was really hesitant to read this one, because they sleep together really early on in the fic (and I tend to prefer slow burns), but holy crap, this author kept me hooked the entire way through. Besides the plot being phenomenal, she proved me wrong in thinking I couldn’t enjoy a long fic that started out with smut. The diversity in the love/sex scenes was just…ugh, so good. It never felt repetitive or boring, and the very end of the fic, at the post-war ceremony, had me in tears. It was beautiful.
-Of Muggles and Magic by Aurette. I just finished this fic on Friday, and it was a glorious historical AU Snamione fic. It starts out when Hermione is 11 years old, and goes through her growing up, in a way that is very different than her canon Hogwarts experience. It has a very Pride & Prejudice and Jane Eyre type of feel, which was really fun to read. And there were some hilarious parts that had me choking back cackles while reading on my work breaks. This was my first time reading a fic by Aurette, and I know it will most certainly not be my last, because her writing is phenomenal.
-Clash of the Conjurers by llorolluvia. This is another one where Snape and Hermione are cursed together, thanks to Voldemort. In this one, Hermione is cursed to obey any and every command Snape gives to her. She’s seen by the Death Eaters as a sort of “pet” for him…but he quickly comes to see her as much more than that. This was another fic that wasn’t a slow burn, but still kept me captivated the entire way through. I especially loved the other characters’ reactions each time one of them found out about Snape and Hermione’s relationship. That’s a trope I adore, when the others find out and are so enraged and suspicious, but then they slowly see little moments of Snape showing affection towards Hermione, and come to learn that he really does care about her, after all. Le sigh.
-Debaucery by Desert_Sea. This is a post-war fic where Severus has handled his demons by…basically…becoming a playboy. He goes around sleeping with every woman he meets, since he’s now seen as this attractive, bad boy, war hero. Hermione is pretty disgusted with him…but also intrigued to know if he’s really as good in bed as all the other women around her say he is. It’s a funny and sexy fic, as are all of Desert_Sea’s fics that I’ve read so far.
-Doing it for the Order also by Desert_Sea. This is one where Snape (and the other Death Eaters) are cursed to sleep with at least one muggle once every week, courtesy of Voldemort (he sure does like to curse this couple lol). Rather than Snape try to find a new muggle each week, Dumbledore enlists Hermione to help Snape with his, uh, little problem ;)
-Tango also by Desert_Sea. This one is just pretty much a few chapters of PWP but omgggg it’s so hot! One of my favorite Snamione tropes is them dancing together in front of the rest of Hogwarts. And that’s how this fic starts out. With a sexy as fuck tango, which leads to even sexier as fuck smut.
-Teaching Miss Granger by OracleObscured. So, I am only about halfway through this fic, mainly because if I read more than 2 or 3 chapters at a time, I run a very real risk of spontaneous combustion. This is a huge fic of pretty much pure porn. It’s also mainly BDSM porn. It’s dirty as fuckkkk and it gets me too overheated to read a lot of at once, so I pick it up here and there to read a bit of when I feel physical prepared to do so.
-Quartet also by OracleObscured. So, like the other fic by this author, this one is pretty much all porn with some plot thrown in. But, this one is a Hermion/Snape/Lucius/Draco fic. Yes, they all fuck her at the same time, as well as on their own. Draco is more like her sub in this, Lucius is the loving, sensual dom, and Severus is the authoritative, I’m in charge dom. They all play really well off one another (altho not gonna lie, I prefer Severus the most). It’s another dirty as hell fic. It’s not completed, which is a good thing, because I can only handle this one a chapter or two at a time, when it updates.
For Lumione
-Eden by obsessmuch. Okay, so this story is not for the faint of heart. It is angsty as hell, and the ending…omg, it will ruin you. I still think about it months later. Like, it’ll randomly pop up in my head and I just sit and stare at the wall and think “holy shit” because it just messed with my emotions that much. This fic honestly ruined me for most other Lumione fics, and I am struggling to find any other fics of this pairing that come close to this one. Lucius is NOT fluffy or romantic in this. He’s the canon Death Eater Lucius that I imagine him to be. He’s a horrible man, and he treats Hermione horribly. In fact, he tortures the hell out of her in the beginning of the fic, and I was at first shocked by my own fascination with the story. But I just…I couldn’t stop reading. This book sucked me up, wouldn’t let go until the ride was over, then spit me back out an emotional wreck. Their relationship is unhealthy, obsessive, Stockholm Syndrome at its finest, and if you dare to read it, I would LOVE to hear what you think about it.
-Ninety Days of Darkness by Fragilereality. This is another darker Lucius fic (altho not nearly as dark as Eden). Hermione is a prisoner in Malfoy Manor, and the two are forced into an engagement by Voldemort. It’s a very interesting tale, although I will say I read this pretty soon after reading Eden, and I just couldn’t stop comparing it to that fic. So this one is great, but I should’ve given myself time to process my feels over Eden before trying to read it.
-For Pure Blood by malfoycouture. So, I haven’t finished this one, which makes me sad, because it had me HOOKED in the beginning. Hermione finds out that the order needs a rare ingredient in the war against Voldemort, an ingredient only the Malfoys possess. So, she offers Lucius a trade: the ingredient for her virginity. What I loved about this fic was all the characters were so damn smart, and always a step ahead of each other. Not just Hermione and Lucius, but also Ginny and Narcissa. It has a lot of intrigue and is action-packed, but for some reason, I think that’s what kinda made me drift from it. I made it about 18 of the 22 chapters in (the chapters are pretty huge) before I lost interest and drifted off to read a Snamione fic, instead, and I have yet to come back and finish it. Perhaps I shall try to do so in the near future.
-Girl Talk by Snapes_Goddess. This fic is on adultfanfiction.net, and the set up of all those fics is really weird now, with these weird symbols in place of all punctuation, so if you can’t look past that annoyance, I totally get it. I found this fic back when I was first obsessed with HP fanfiction yearssss ago. And honestly, just about anything by that author is fabulous. She writes a lot of Snamione and Lumione fics, both short smutty ones and longer ones. I was obsessed with her back in the day, and Girl Talk is one of my favorites of hers. It’s mostly smut, but also has a romance to it. Basically, it starts out with Lucius overhearing Hermione tell Ginny that she’s never had enjoyable sex. He offers his…”services” and god damnnnnn the smut is hot in this. Lucius is a sex god. I go back and re-read certain chapters of this fic more times than I care to admit. Mostly the first 5 or 6 chapters. The scene where he fucks her up against a pillar at a Ministry ceremony, with Harry and the others only a few feet away… *fans self rapidly*
There ya have it! Those are the main Snamione and Lumione fics that popped into my head that I’ve enjoyed! If you know of any others that you’d recommend, feel free to throw em my way!
Also, I’m currently reading this AMAZING vampire romance/mystery fic I found on Wattpad (it’s the first non-fanfiction fic I’ve read in a long time, but I’m hooked). I actually have been picturing a younger Severus as the lead vampire while reading it haha. If anyone is interested, go check it out. It’s called Belle Mort by Bella_Higgin. It’s the first in a series of 3 books, and it perfectly blends together humor, mystery, and sexiness. I’m just now discovering how many amazing original novels are on Wattpad, and idk whether to cry in happiness or scream in despair that it’s going to cause me to add a billion more books to my “need to read” list lol.

Hi! I'm trying to go through Classic Who and was wondering what some good serials to start off with would be, in your opinion? From a variety of Doctors, if that's okay.
Great question. It’s hard for me to boil 27 years into a quick watchlist, but I’ll do my best to give you a good sampler with good stories, watershed events, and most classic companions. I’ll boldface my top rec for each Doctor.
My suggestion is to try 2 top-recommended stories for each of the classic Doctors, and then watch more of whichever Doctor/companions catch your fancy.
Rec list below the cut:
First Doctor
I always wrestle with where to start newbies.
Unearthly Child is such a good launch, especially the first half hour. It establishes that the Doctor has a lot to learn from humans! But if you find the later episodes of that story a bit draggy, it's okay to skip ahead to when the show hits its stride. Here:
The Aztecs (Barbara, Ian, Susan): First TARDIS team, classic historical, first to grapple with ethics of altering history. Excellent story.
The Romans (Barbara, Ian, Vicki): Lighthearted historical with a lot of moments to make you grin.
The Time Meddler (Steven, Vicki): Another fun one, first to introduce another Time Lord (although at the time, the showrunners hadn’t decided that the Doctor wasn’t human; the “Time Lord” concept was introduced in the second Doctor’s final episode.).
Second Doctor
I know this era the least, because almost all its episodes were lost when I was a kid, and I still need to catch up on recons and recovered stories. A pity, because Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Peter Capaldi all look back to Patrick Troughton as their Doctor.
I’m still playing catch-up, but I warmly suggest:
Power of the Daleks (Ben, Polly) I’m not quite sure about this rec. It’s the first regeneration story ever, totally lost apart from the soundtrack, recently reconstructed using 1960s-comics-style animation. The visuals may not be your cup of tea, but it’s a good story. I guess this is another, “Try it, see if it works for you, and if not, move on.”
Enemy of the World (Jamie, Victoria) WATCH THIS. NO SERIOUSLY. It’s alarmingly topical, and Pat Troughton is amazeballs. Remember it’s 50 years old now.
The Mind Robber (Jamie, Zoe) a goofier, more lighthearted entry than most of my suggestions, but if you have a sense of humour, it’s a lot of fun. It reminds me that (a) Who was primarily a kids’s show smart enough for the whole family to enjoy and (b) early television was like watching a stage play;  you had to suspend disbelief, tolerate flat sets and basic props, and fill in the rest with your imagination. Our minds were the CGI of early TV.
Third Doctor
Three was my first Doctor, so from here on it gets difficult for me to be choosy.
Spearhead from Space (Liz, Brig) for sure; it’s the intro of the UNIT era and a good regeneration story. Keep in mind what a radical departure this was; not only was it in colour, but it was the first time the Doctor and companions had left at the end of one season and been replaced with an entirely new cast in the next. The Doctor was now Earthbound, working with UNIT. The Time Lords had just been established in the previous (10 episode long!) serial.
Inferno (Liz, Brig) is widely regarded and a heck of a story, with some unforgettable moments, but it’s another that’s about one episode longer than it needs to be according to modern tastes.
Terror of the Autons (Jo, Brig, Benton) introduces Jo AND the Master. Good story. Watch it. :)
The Three Doctors was the tenth anniversary special, and I love it, goofy monsters, ham acting, campy villain and all. William Hartnell passed away not long after.
Fourth Doctor
This is especially hard to pick and choose because Tom’s era spanned seven years, and he had so many good companions and watershed stories. You don’t have to hit all of these; I just have trouble choosing.
Genesis of the Daleks (Harry, Sarah Jane) for sure, introduction of Davros. Unusually dark but important story, a real watershed.
The Brain of Morbius (Sarah Jane) is a solid Four-era adventure introducing the Sisterhood of Karn and another problematic Time Lord. It’s not a pivotal story so much as “this is absolutely classic classic Who, and good entertainment.”
Hand of Fear is Sarah Jane’s final story. It’s a good sendoff, even if the writers had forgotten she was a tough bird; she shrieks more than I’d like. The final scene is embedded in the hearts of all Whovians of my generation. Our Sarah Jane.
The Deadly Assassin (just about the only solo Doctor serial): I waffle on whether to recommend this because it’s slow in spots, but it probably did the most to establish Gallifrey canon of any story, since it’s the first story that takes place on Gallifrey.
The Face of Evil introduces Leela. And you can skip it. No really, it’s simply a good adventure, and I hate for you to miss Leela altogether.
The Pirate Planet (Romana I, K9) is hilariously over the top, a farce penned by the inimitable Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker’s Guide. Bonus: drinking game with the phrase “MIISTER FIBULIIIII!” Except that might land you in a hospital, so never mind.
The City of Death (Romana II) contains a lot of running through the streets of Paris and Tom Baker and Lalla Ward flirting shamelessly. Nevertheless, it’s a good story with an unusually good secondary cast. A fan favorite. Watch for the John Cleese cameo!
Drat, that’s too many Tom Bakers already, so I guess I shouldn’t say Keeper of Traken. But I’m gonna, because I’m biased. (It’s Nyssa’s intro, a Shakespearean tragedy with an interesting villain. More importantly, Anthony Ainley, the next Master, plays her father.)
Fifth Doctor
Castrovalva is the best regeneration story. Yes, I’m biased, but that sequence with Peter Davison wandering around the TARDIS imitating the Doctors he grew up watching is a great intro.
Earthshock (Adric, Tegan, Nyssa) I haven’t given you any Cybermen stories yet, have I? Watch this one. I refuse to spoil why; I’ve already spoiled the first cliffhanger (it had been seven years since the previous Cybermen story, and nobody was expecting them).
The Five Doctors (Tegan, Turlough, and everybody else) is the 20th anniversary special that brought back as many Doctors, companions and monsters as it possibly could. Pure fanservice, but fun for all that. Plus more Gallifrey worldbuilding.
Caves of Androzani (Peri) is often voted the best classic Who story ever. Not sure about that, but the directing in this one is so much better than most of the era it hurts. Even if modern audiences are no longer used to characters addressing the camera; it was a convention back then.
Sixth Doctor
Poor Colin; I love his audios but I haven’t gone back and watched his TV serials since the 80s. The two I remember as especially good are:
The Two Doctors (Jamie, Peri) - Colin Baker collides with Patrick Troughton. Not to mention Jackie Pearce, who played the arch-villain of Blake’s 7.
Vengeance on Varos (Peri) - keep in mind that so-called Reality TV was almost two decades away
Seventh Doctor
I loved the quirky first season of the Seventh Doctor era, but most people don’t. Delta and the Bannermen (Mel) was apparently penned under the influence of recreational substances, and I love it, but again, most people don’t. Happiness Patrol is another “I love it, but most people don’t” story.
These are safer, quality bets:
Battlefield. (Ace) WATCH IT. NO SERIOUSLY. Last Brig appearance on classic Who. A+ would recommend, if nothing else for the fact that Who clued in to having a diverse (and good) cast. Watch for Ace’s gal pal of the week. ;)
Remembrance of the Daleks (Ace) was originally meant as the 25th anniversary special. The Doctor returns to Coal Hill School for the first time since Unearthly Child. There’s Daleks and the famous Unlimited Rice Pudding speech. Ace kicks Dalek ass.
Survival. Last classic Who ever. A Master story. Ace’s gal of the week is none other than Lisa Bowerman (Big Finish director, also plays Bernice Summerfield) disguised as a furry. Despite the naff costuming, it’s a good story, and the scriptwriter was slipping in as much lesbian subtext as she could get away with in the 80s (according to an interview).
Eighth Doctor
By all means, watch the TV movie, despite its flaws. When it came out, my friends compained, “Stop trying to appeal to Americans by making Doctor Who more American! We’re Anglophiles!” And I lamented, “This is the opposite of Doctor Who: The FX are superb [well, they were then] but the dialogue is mediocre!”  Nevertheless, we all loved Paul McGann as the Doctor and were angry on his behalf that he hadn’t been given a better script to reboot the franchise.
My opinion of the 1997 movie has risen considerably over the years, but it’s still a bit rocky.
And of course you have to see Night of the Doctor, but it’s only seven minutes. Perfect Paul.
Edited to add: Nobody is grading you on your hobby. Or if they are, F ’em. You are allowed to pick and choose! There is so much Who now that it’s pretty much impossible to see, read and listen to all of it. Different eras of the show have different styles and appeal to different tastes. So watch what gives you joy. Just remember there are overlooked gems in every period.
