hi the imagi es here are so cute! I really like riding horses and I think it would be silly if yusuke and the boys were riding horses with me, I imagine kurama might be good at it but everyone else would struggle, LOL! would you be able to write something about that when you have time?
"You gotta relax," you insist. "Horses can sense your nerves, and it makes them nervous, too." "Easy for you to say," Yusuke says, grip on the reigns far too tight and his posture far too stiff in the saddle. "How do you know it's not gonna suddenly freak out and buck me off?" "Just don't spook it," Kurama says. "Breathe, relax your posture, and lighten up on the reigns." "He's right," you say. "Loosen your hips and just sway with the saddle. If you tighten up like that your horse is going to stop." "What, you're telling us these things can sense the tension in our bodies?" Kuwabara seems horrified, and his horse stands nervously, ears back attentively and listening to its rider with excruciating detail. "Yeah, they can," you say. "You have a cat, right? Just think of it like interacting with your cat." Kuwabara groans uncomfortably, but he looks down at the beast beneath him, takes a deep breath, releases the tension in his body with a heavy exhale, and reaches out to stroke his ride's neck. The horse responds favorably, shifting its weight and letting out a gentle sound. It can still sense Kuwabara's nerves, but suddenly Kuwabara feels a bit more in-tune with the creature. "That's more like it," Kurama says, riding up beside Kuwabara and his mount while keeping a respectable distance and making sure Kuwabara's horse knew he was coming. "Yeah!" You smile widely. "Just remember: no sudden movements, no shouting, no hitting, and try to relax. There's a rhythm between you and your horse. You just gotta find it."
Yusuke looks pale, but he tries to keep this advice in mind. He's got a long way to go. "Come on, Yusuke—you can handle demons and monsters, but not a vegetarian?" You both tease and try to boost his confidence at the same time. "Yeah, it's the vegetarians you have to watch out for."

I've spent all day imagining an au with Shizutan and Kuwahi to Shooting Star by the Bag Raiders.
I have a comic and an amv in my head.
youtube
General context for headcanon:
Most of it is on the Shizutan side if things and the most significant bits are pre-series.
The Shizutan is pretty fleshed out in my mind (as far as my typical headcanons go) and involves past family involvement with yakuza, spirit world sdf, demon world cartels, and the ever continuing theme of rivals you didn't know you were in love with dying unexpectedly young.
Sakyo is trans and has history with Shizuru and Botan in school and eventually the yakuza. Shizuru/Sakyo was definitely still a thing during the Dark Tournament and is Even More Tragic Now.
Botan and Shizuru and Sakyo were classmates and punks and were on a fast track for yakuza life especially since Shizurus father was already involved in the yakuza and (unknown to Botan and Sakyo) spirit and demon world affairs.
Botan's(former name Misora- Sora for short with loved ones) mom was similar to Yusuke's and Sakyo had a single father that had a penchant for beating him.
OK so here's the headcanon Background:
Shizuru and Sora/Botan were childhood friends via family yakuza connections often playing and babysitting Kazuma together but when Sakyo moves to the area from Tokyo in their last year of elementary school Shizuru develops a massive crush on him. Sora/Botan is, of course, upset because she loved Shizuru and was already in her life first. (What Shizuru didn't realize yet was that she loved Sora/Botan too. And she doesn't think Sora/Botan's feelings are genuine. She thinks Sora/Botan's affections and hurt are friendly/familial instead of romantic.)
As they go through middle school and their friendship deteriorates they start gangs of their own and Shizuru and Sora/Botan are always duking it out over some stupid bullshit argument. Sakyo seems detached but sees how much they actually love each other and can't find any reason to choose either over the other. They both have their good points.
Of the two of them only Shizuru seems interested in him but Sora/Botan gets very pretty in middleschool and uses that to her advantage to flirt with Sakyo purely to piss Shizuru off. Sakyo enjoys it of course because he likes both of them and Sora/Botan IS very pretty. They're both so very kind at heart and spend a lot of time with him which keeps him out of the house. He's always crashing at Shizuru's or Sora/Botan's.
There's a reason that Koenma thinks Kazuma would be a better Spirit Detective than Yusuke. He admires Mr. Kuwabara's work and depends on his intel. They've worked together for years since Mr. Kuwabara was a teen coming into his own psychic powers and their comraderie has only solidified since The Incident with Kazuma's mother.
One day the spirit world and demon world information dealing and undercover work Mr. Kuwabara is doing comes to a head in the worst possible way and a group if demons come after his family AGAIN.
When trying to kill the Kuwabaras via an attack on their home: Sora/Botan, who lives in the neighborhood, hears the explosion and sees the flames. She runs out of her apartment and does her best to run in and rescue the Kuwabara siblings. She makes way for them to escape the house fire but she can't get out herself. Caught by the collapsing second floor.
Shizuru and Kazuma can hear her dying pleas and her thinking of how much she loves Shizuru  and how she doesn't regret dying to save her but that that does regret never telling her how she feels. Sora/Botan hopes that Shizuru can be happy with Sakyo even if he is a rat bastard. He'll always be a friend and Shizuru deserves to be loved like the moon and stars.
It's just so loud. The anguish and pain and anger slams through both of the Kuwabara siblings. It's deeply scarring for them both. Not to mention seeing her immediately as a ghost before they're both dragged off with their father by the SDF.
Separating them before they can interfere with the reaping that suddenly and unexpectedly needs to take place.
Kazuma's memory is wiped by his father and one of his associates but since Kazuma is so young and Mr. Kuwabara is also very deeply affected by the incident he accidentally wipes everything of Sora/Botan from Kazuma's memory.
Shizuru chooses not to have her memory wiped. She wants to remember Botan forever. Which is again very upsetting and traumatic for Mr. Kuwabara and Shizuru. They can't even grieve her loss with him. She was like a second daughter to Mr. Kuwabara and a sister to Kazuma. They can't really explain why they're so upset so they have to settle on the familiar pain of the loss of their mother which is ALSO related to spirit world and demon world dealings but Kazuma doesn't know the details behind his mother's death. Mr. Kuwabara and Shizuru had decided to keep Kazuma out of other worldly issues as much as they could after they lost Mrs. Kuwabara.
After Sora/Botan's death, Shizuru and Mr. Kuwabara shut in on themselves and cut themselves off from human connections abruptly. Shizuru drops out of school that year (first year of High School) and goes for a cosmetology license to move on with her life and make the extra cash needed since their dad is throwing himself into his work and staying away from home more often than he's around.
Sakyo is never given information about Spirit and Demon world and isn't aware of the Kuwabaras psychic powers. He's aware of their nightmares and their seeming clairvoyance but that's mysticism that's easily explained.
When Shizuru pulls back from Sakyo she's furious with herself for somehow convincing herself that Sora/Botan's affection and love for her was anything other than romantic and she regrets how her feelings for Sakyo hurt Botan. She of course doesn't SAY any of that to him and just sort of shatters their friendship with a fight and cuts him off cold despite how much she still loved him. She's really going through it and not coping well at all. Shizuru blames herself for Sora/Botan's death and the misery sge assumes Sora/Botan dealt with for the last 4 years that shes was alive.
Shizuru has gotta focus on taking care of Kazuma. She doesn't have time to waste on a crush that wasn't going anywhere and only hurt the most important person in her life.
Sakyo has essentially lost both of the only people he actually gave a shit about in the space of a week and he was already on track to join the yakuza anyway. He joins and throws himself into it to dull the pain and stay away from home, while funding his transition. He helps with various yakuza front work as opposed to street brawling which he was never fond of anyway. He's always been the man with a plan.
Sakyo eventually gets more involved in the inner workings of the organization and through a series of betrayls ends up at the top. Working with Demon cartels and making contacts with Tarukane and the Toguro siblings.
He wonders idly if there was something more to the Kuwabaras until he ends up getting information from a secondary contact of Mr. Kuwabara's that confirms they're all psychic and information brokers. He pieces together that the fire wasn't a normal house fire and starts to blame Mr. Kuwabara for Sora/Botan's death and Shizuru's misery. Nothing would have happened if he'd kept out of demon cartel affairs.
When Sora/Botan died, Koenma of course pulled every string he could to make her a reaper. They didn't have a plan for her and weren't expecting her but after Sensui there was no way to swing for Spirit Detective. It'd be better to bide his time and wait for Kazuma to grow into his powers. So Koenma did what he could, but for bullshit red tape reasons the opportunity to be a reaper came at the cost of Sora/Botan's memories.
Botan can't remember her life as a human before she became a reaper. She thinks that she's from a different time period. These are false memories implanted upon her agreement to training and reaper work. She also looks completely different color palette wise (blue hair based off of her human name and pink eyes based off of her favorite flower peonies which is what she's now named after) but has all the same features.
The day Shizuru walks into Kazuma's room and sees Botan standing there she nearly has a heart attack. She'd recognize Sora anywhere. She immediately gives them space. She's not even sure what excuse she uses. She just knows that she has to get away. As time goes on, it's clear that Botan doesn't recognize or remember her. She tells her dad about it and he catches her up on Sora's enlistment as a reaper, what she had to give up to achieve that, and how Koenma has been favoring her as an assistant.
Shizuru is of course eternally bitter about Koenma seeing as he's managed to bring so much misery upon them all whether he means to or not. But she can't help how grateful she feels to see Sora/Botan again even if Kazuma has managed to get tied up in Koenma's bullshit now.
She sees how much Kazuma loves Yusuke and sees what she had with Botan in the past and she can't help but be happy for him that he got everything she wanted. She wishes him the best and lets him follow his path no matter where it leads him. She can only hope that he makes good choices and that his team will have his back.
Kazuma is the last person Sakyo ever expected to see again, much less fighting demons with an energy sword. Kazuma doesn't recognize him of course. He was so little and after a "head injury" during the house fire as a kid he doesn't remember much from around that time. Plus Sakyo looks markedly different as a grown man. Similar enough if you knew him pre transition or knew what his father looked like, but Kazuma wouldn't have any frame of reference.
Sakyo is shocked but has Toguro go after Kazuma with an invitation for Yusuke to the Dark Tournament after a quick assessment of the situation at hand. He's always been great at observing and reading people after all. If Kazuma's invited to the Dark Tournament, then there's no way he won't see Shizuru again. Of course she'll be there. Kazuma is everything to her. So he waits. What he doesn't expect to see is a girl with blue hair and pink eyes that's the spitting image of Sora when she passed.
Then the events from the Dark Tournament play out largely unchanged. Sakyo dies at the end of it all. No matter how much they love each other they took different paths. There was no way to rejoin. It was always meant to end this way, but they got to see each other again if only for a brief moment in time.
The rest of the series also passes largely unchanged from cannon. Shizuru takes her time to heal and become comfortable with Botan as we know her now. Botan reminds Shizuru of what Sora was like when they were kids. Of what Sora might have been like had they never gotten involved in delinquent activity as teens. She's just as sweet and bubbly as she was beneath all the bravado. It's easy to find herself relaxing into a warm if slightly detached friendship. She tries to keep Botan at arm's length because she doesn't know if she can keep a handle on her feelings for her.
Also Genkai knew more about the Kuwabara family that she never let slip during the series for a Variety of reasons. She ultimately got what she wanted and needed out of the tournament that she ran -seeing Kazuma- but ended up training Yusuke because of course with Koenma's interference of giving Yusuke powers and awareness of demons the little shit won the damn thing. And he clearly cares about the Kuwabaras so why not? She's still dead though. (More an au of the manga timeline vs anime timeline.)
ANYWAY GETTING TO THE SONG PART NOW
As much as Koenma is a little shit, after everything that happened with Genkai and Toguro and Mrs. Kuwabara and Shizuru and Botan and Kazuma almost dying he has a whole fucking lot to make up for and he keeps trying to do his best to make it up to this family that keeps defying fate's plans and exceeding Spirit World's expectations. He has a huge soft spot for them.
So one day when she's scheduled to have her human form changed to more closely match with Kazuma and Kurama's current age range, he also returns Botan's memories to her (somehow through a loophole he and George have been working on hunting down for years) and of course the first thing she does is fly to Shizuru with a little radio like Kiki's delivery service playing a song only her and Shizuru (and Kazuma) would recognize. It's a spirit world radio and it's amplified while transmitting on a psychic frequncy specific to the Kuwabaras.
It's a familiar tune from a Sci-fi show they watched together as children while babysitting Kazuma. (I sorta envision it like Star Trek I assume someone had brought Star Trek to Japan by the 80s.)
Shizuru hears it, thinks it might be kazumas stereo but it sounds like its inside her mind. She extends her senses outside while she looks to the sky, and she senses that Botan is flying overhead.
Shizuru instantly knows that Sora/Botan remembers their past. She jumps out of bed, scrambles into boots, a jacket, and a helmet running out of the house, and hops on her motorcycle to fly after her as Sora/Botan flies through the skies above Sarayashiki. They're heading towards a place by some train tracks near the beach that they used to brawl at in middle school for their bigger fights. Shizuru's thinking the lyrics to herself a she rides. Botan has always been the shooting star that she couldn't quite catch up to. She'll be damned is she doesn't catch her this time.
(It's my AU so Shizuru gets a motorcycle 🏍 she'd be so cool riding one come on)
The Kuwahi is admittedly less detailed....
On his end, Hiei is using the Jagan to check that Kazuma is home and considering saying something to him.
When he establishes the connection he hears the song starting. It's one Kazuma shared with him as a favorite of his. One Kazuma had listened to since he was a child. Playing it on his stereo with the window open so Hiei could listen from the tree outside his window one warm summer evening.
Hiei thinks that might have been the first night that he started having feelings for Kazuma.
Kazuma's sentimental speeches have gotten to him somewhere along the way and he's developed his own sentimentality. He's developed a love of music. Listening outside Kazumas window to whatever he plays for him.
Hiei's grown an appreciation for so many things in life that he'd long let die by the wayside. Kazuma revived them. He only started putting the pieces together when he couldn't put down his anger at Yukina rejecting Kazuma for her one-sided love for Keiko (of course I worked that in here. If we're still doing ultimately doomed Yaoi then let's toss in some ultimately doomed Yuri while we're at it too y'all 🤷‍♀️.). It was bad enough that Kazuma had to hide his pain and resignation at The Detective's proposal to the girl, did his own sister have to fall for her and break Kazuma's heart too? Were Kazuma's declarations and patience and kindness not enough?
Before Hiei started the connection, Kazuma had been up thinking about his feelings for Hiei and how they'd been growing since he'd let go of Yukina. How close they've gotten as teammates and friends. How he's slowly grown to love him over the years but isn't sure what to do about it.
Kazuma feels a familiar psychic connection and starts to hear the music. He assumes that Hiei is the one sending it. That's new. Typically when Hiei contacts him via psychic connection it's an emergency message or communication of information over long distance during a mission.
Hiei sends a few short words telling Kazuma that he's deeply important to him and asking Kazuma to follow him. The emotions conveyed in the connection make it clear that its some form of love and longing and not just the comraderie they've always had. Kazuma looks out the window and sees Hiei fly off the roof ringed in moonlight against a backdrop of stars. He jumps out of bed, into some shoes, and is down and out of the door chasing after Hiei as he feels the distance grow in their connection. He ends up singing the lyrics in their connection while chasing Hiei across town and through the surrounding forest as his own half of this confession. Hiei has always been a shooting star to him. He just needs to catch up.
Both chase scenes are happening at the same time because universal timing I guess lmao. Also Kazuma and Shizuru didn't notice each other leaving because they were so caught up in the moment lmao. Shizuru got out the door last and didn't hear Kazuma running out because she was scrambling for her boots and jacket.
Kazuma also has a motor cycle for the record it just wouldn't make sense to ride it where he's chasing Hiei.
Idk what do you think Shizutan and Hieibara shippers do I have anything here?
I can't write so all I can do is give a rundown of scenes. 🤷‍♀️
If someone likes this and wants to write or draw this please by all means! 💖 I give this AU headcanon freely. I don't have the skill or talent to write or draw anything with it.
I just wanted to at least share it in case it made someone else happy to think on.
I think I'm calling this the Tragic Biker Shizutan AU since the Kuwahi is more of an afterthought.

Found Family Tournament Round 1 Part 21 Group 104
Propaganda and further pictures under the cut

Fantastical Ideas: Emu Otori & Rui Kamishiro
Team Urameshi: Yusuke, Keiko, Kuwabara, Shizuru, Genkai, Kurama, Hiei, Yukina, Botan
Submissions are still open!
Fantastical Ideas:
Emu has a very strained relationship with her older brothers. She's frequently described as a dreamer, and has a very childish-wonder like nature to her ideas. She gets this from her grandfather, who created the theme park she (and rui) now work at as actors. Her older brothers (keisuke and shosuke) inherited the park and run it now. She had to beg them not to take down this little run down stage (called the wonder stage; it's where she performs with her small theatre troupe, wonderlands x showtime, which consists also of tsukasa, nene, and rui) that she now performs on. Her brothers have made a lot of changes to the park she doesn't like but she's stopped them from making even more. While her relationship with her brothers does get better throughout the story, this is where rui comes in.
Rui's very intelligent, intelligent enough to create elaborate one-man shows with drones and robots that he created himself (which are the kind of street performances he did before he joined wonderlands x showtime), and he even created a robot version of his childhood friend, Nene, because she was so anxious when talking to people. Robo-nene runs on an AI and he is constantly adding new features to her. My point is- rui's smart as fuck, but he also has that same imagination that knows no bounds, just like emu does.
This is never something that's explicitly stated, but i feel like it's very likely that Emu was excited to know someone that was older and more mature than her, that wouldn't shoot down her ideas immediately, and not only that but encourage and enable them.
It's a little bit one sided on emu's half, honestly, but Rui does seem to like her just as much as she likes him, constantly indulging her silly little fantasies and seemingly getting just as excited about them as she does. Given that Rui has faced a lot of isolation for this imagination of his throughout his elementary and junior high and even still present highschool years, i can't imagine that he somehow dislikes being able to share this with someone just as eager.
Team Urameshi:
sometimes your family includes your childhood sweetheart, middle school rival, his sister who's cooler than both of you, an old lady you found in the woods, two guys you arrested, a cinnamon roll too good for this world, and the Grim Reaper
(note: all names above are first names except Kuwabara. His first name is Kazuma but Shizura and Yukina are the only ones who call him that and calling him by his last name feels more natural)
(picture included does not include everyone, because I literally could not find a picture of everyone together, but it's a classic and captures the Vibes)

A First Meeting With Kuwabara
Fandom: Yu Yu Hakusho
Paring: Kuwabara x MC (Gender Neutral)
Trigger: Violence. Minor language. The term sweet cheeks is used rudely?
Genre: Little bit of suspense with something kind of cute at the end.
Mc’s feet seemed to protest every step they took, a stinging sensation having developed from a long day’s work that had started at school and ended with a job. Anything that could go wrong today had done just that, and now they were struggling just to make it home! Originally they were going to take the bus or even a taxi, but having gotten out too late and then being ignored by the driver had sealed their fate in having to walk home in the dark.
A sigh fell from their lips as they stopped to fiddle with their shoe, finger sliding behind their heel in order to unfold the back of the shoe once again. “I really should go get some new shoes…”
“Maybe you get us a pair too.”
A masculine voice had spoken up behind them and a feeling of dread caused their heart to sink. You have to be shitting me.
Mc turned around to look at a group of three young men who seemed all too keen on making their night so much worse. The one in the middle, who they assumed was the one that spoke up, carried a wicked smile while the other two waited for orders. One of them carried a bat that they were lightly bumping it against their shoe and judging by the wear and tear of it, it had been used frequently.
“Well, don’t think I have enough for all of you guys.” A faint smile was on MC’S face as they mentally weighed their options. They could make a break for it, but with how their feet had been protesting earlier it was doubtful they could outrun the group. The other option would be to hand the group all the cash and hope it would inspire some amount of mercy from them. MC didn’t see them even lasting a few seconds in a fight against three, but considering all the bills they had wanted to try and pay, the risk of getting their ass kicked might at least make them feel better about getting mugged.
“Well that’s too damn bad, sweet cheeks. Hand over all you got and we might let you walk away.” The main one spoke up and seemed to spit to the side afterward.
Sweet cheeks?!
“Oh, well, in that case, pry it from my cold dead hands you sacks of shit!” MC took off before another second could pass, starting a chase through the streets! After the third turn they weren’t sure where they had been headed, but it seemed like their legs weren’t actually giving out like they had thought they would!
If I can get over that fence then I might be able to get out of this with my mo—Ohhhh, no!
As MC turned another corner, they came face to face with a solid wall. They must have made a wrong turn earlier on.
“Get back here you little shit!” As MC turned around they quickly flinched to brace for the impact of the bat.
Except the impact never came.
“Hey, what the hell?!” One of the goons shouted, causing MC to look up once again and come face to face with who, they guessed, was their savior.
“Pretty lame of you guys to be picking on someone smaller than you. And what kind of lowlife mugs innocent people, huh?!” His hair was orange and shaped into a pompadour that seemed to bounce with every movement. The person’s back was still facing MC so they couldn’t see their face, but their outfit was a light blue school uniform. What had really piqued their interest was the gruffness of his voice.
“K-Kuwabara?! What are you doing on this side of town?!”
“Never mind that! Get him!!”
As the group charged at him, MC fell backward to avoid getting caught in the fight and watched the scene before them with wide eyes. Kuwabara had easily grabbed the bat from one of them and tossed it to the side before leading with a right hook into the other man’s face. The other two had taken it as a chance to rush him, but he quickly turned his attention on them and kicked them back. The fight lasted only a few more seconds before the three were up and running away, leaving Kuwabara there chuckling to himself before he seemed to go stiff.
“Oh! I’m sorry, are you okay?! I completely forgot to check for a second.” When he turned towards MC he extended his hand to help them up. It took a moment for them to register the gesture, but as soon as they did they gripped his hand and was pulled up quickly.
“Oh, yeah, no I’m fine. You got here just in time.” MC’s frown had turned into an appreciative smile as they looked over the man’s face. It was very angular with a few scars on his cheeks, but the most noticeable feature had been his piercing gray eyes.
“Oh, that’s a relief. I had been eating with some friends when we heard the commotion,” he chuckled. He scratched the back of his head and his face seemed to flush up, though MC could not place why he was becoming so bashful.
“Well, thank you so much! I really owe you...Umm, since you were eating, do you want to...get something to eat with me? I mean, you don’t have to! I just figure—”
“Oh! That would be great actually! I uhh...Wouldn’t mind that at all…” His words were followed by a burst of nervous laughter that seemed to pleasantly ring through MC’S ears.
Mc let out a small giggle and grabbed his arm lightly to start pulling him along.
“That’s great cause I hate owing people.” MC turned their eyes forward as they started to walk down the street, still in the slight lead of Kuwabara who allowed himself to be dragged along.
“Oh?” Kuwabara’s voice faltered for a moment before MC continued their thought.
“It helps that you’re cute too.” MC glanced back at him with what they hoped to be a flirtatious smile before continuing to lead him to a nearby diner.
“Oh! Well, I uh...glad you think so.” He let out another nervous laugh which ended up being a common thing for MC to hear throughout the night, though they didn’t mind that what-so-ever. It wasn’t every day that a knight in shining armor came to rescue them, and while that armor was just a blue uniform he still seemed just as amazing.

I just want to hear about Yusuke and Kuwabara hanging out with Eikichi lol
"C'mon, Yusuke! Admit she's cute!" The small cat dangled in Kuwabara's hands like a ragdoll, big brown eyes fixated on Yusuke in anticipation. The detective refuses to approach or reach out to the cat, staring at the tiny beast with suspicion. "I'm not a cat person." "But look at those eyes!" Kuwabara says, inching Eikichi closer to Yusuke." "I am. That's the problem." "What's wrong with them?" "They're unreadable. Cats have no expressions. How am I supposed to know what they're thinking and whether or not they want attention or to be left alone?" "Y'gotta read the body language! See, look—" Kuwabara sets Eikichi on the ground, and the earthy cat stands there for a moment, glancing at Kuwabara, then back to Yusuke. "See how her tail is straight up and her ears are pointed forward? That means she's comfortable and happy to see you!" "Oh yeah? Having a cat made you a master of weird ass body language, huh?" "It's not weird, it's just different! Cats aren't like dogs. They've got their own way of communicating. You just gotta learn how, like taking English in school. C'mon, just reach out and pet her! You'll see!"
"Hmm..." The brown eyes of both Yusuke and Eikichi meet once more, searching for some sign in each other of understanding and acceptance. Closing his eyes, Yusuke takes a deep breath and lets out a lighthearted sigh. "Alright." In a moment of trust and faith, Yusuke lets down his guard and reaches towards Eikichi. "Wait." "Do you want me to pet the cat or not?" "Just reach your hand out and let her come to you." Yusuke gives something of a light growl, but does as instructed. Eikichi slowly approaches his hand, inspecting it, tail held high in a question mark pose. She sniffs his fingers, taking a moment to examine and understand, before finally she moves forward and rubs her head against his hand. A low rumble begins to fill the room as Yusuke takes this as a sign to rub the cat's back gently, and Yusuke found the purring to be...surprisingly comforting. Shoulders relax, and something akin to elation blooms in Yusuke's chest as he watches Eikichi brush against his hand repeatedly, seemingly content and happy. "...y'know, maybe this isn't so bad after all."

Feral 2
Summary: a continuation of "Feral." Koenma reminds Team Urameshi, that a demon is still a demon. Kurama is dangerous.

“It’ll wear off,” Koenma said, not unkindly about Kurama’s condition, but with not much concern. "He's fine."
The Youko was currently sitting with Hiei canoodled into his lap, his chin plopped on top of Hiei’s. Hiei, surprisingly, was quite relaxed and neutral about Kurama snuggling him and taking up his space. He didn’t even seem to mind when Kurama started rubbing his cheek against Hiei’s neck, yipping cheerfully as he scented him. To Yusuke and Kuwabara's amazement, it seemed that Hiei might have even been used to such behavior from the fox.
“I think it’s best to just let it run its course. We’re still analyzing what Kurama was injected with, but we’re already sure it’s temporary. It’ll be a week a best. We might as well just let it pass naturally,” Koenma said, smiling from a safe distance behind his desk. He tapped his chin, “Although, he should remain in the Makai. Close to you three. I don’t think he’d like it if you’re not close.”
“Pff, so we gotta give into fox-boy’s whims?” Yusuke asked, reaching over to ruffle Kurama’s ears.
Kurama all too happily leaned into the attention.
“Despite his friendly attitude… he is still a Kistsune. He's still, Youko Kurama. He’s dangerous,” Koenma insisted gravely. He nodded slowly, “It’s probably best you three stay nearby to help him keep calm.”
“You sayin’ that cuddle monster is dangerous?” Kuwabara chortled, wincing as Yukina’s hands glided over his back. She was healing his injuries, her cool hands doing their best to soothe away his pains.
“A demon is still a demon. And a demon with an animalistic nature is most dangerous… no matter how friendly they may seem,” Koenma intoned, his eyes serious.
“I’ve got to get your leg now Kazuma… this will be painful,” Yukina gently told Kuwabara, her face sympathetic as moved her hands down to Kuwabara’s leg.
Kuwabara nodded at her, flashing her an encouraging smile. “Don’t worry about it Yukina-chan!”
“Hard to imagine him dangerous!” Yusuke chattered, grinning as Kurama now leaned into his palm, moving his head in an attempt to get Yusuke to scratch his ears. “He’s so different like this! This isn’t how Youko Kurama acted, right?”
“Hardly,” Hiei snorted. “I think he has his Youko form, but his mind has regressed a little more to his fox state of old. The fox he was before a demon.”
“Exactly,” Koenma agreed. "If he was Youko Kurama, as he was when he was a criminal, I'm sure that would be a different flavor of danger. But we could at least talk to him, and convince him we're not his enemy. In this state, it's a bit more complicated."
There was an audible pop as Yukina pressed down on Kuwabara’s injured shin, her hands rapidly glowing as she fixed the fractured bones and torn muscles of his leg. Kuwabara let out a strangled cry, that trailed off into a hiss. His eyes closed in pain, and slammed his mouth shut as he tried to repress the painful grunt.
The growl that filled the room on top of Kuwabara's whimpering, was ferocious.
Several shouts went up as the Youko sprang from behind Hiei to snap at Yukina, his golden eyes glowing with a pale light. His softer, almost cheerful expression had completely vanished, as his jaw rippled with fierce anger. He had gone a shade paler at the sound of Kuwabara's muffled pain, and it made him look more like a charging ghoul as he sprang on all fours towards Kuwabara, and Yukina.
He rushed the ice maiden on all fours, growling and showing fangs as he moved wild and fast towards her. Yukina kept her calm, and simply backed up and away from Kuwabara, holding her hands out submissively with her hands full of her medical herbs.
Kurama crawled over Kuwabara when he reached him, positioning himself on all fours over the man. His chest was out, and his teeth were flashed as the fur of his ears and tail bristled, his face lowered as he stared at the perceived threat with anger. He snapped, emitting a low sound that was quite different from the high-pitched yipping he had been doing all day.
“Whoa,” Yusuke managed, slowly getting to his feet, “Holy shit!” Kurama had moved so fast, that neither he nor Hiei had been able to stop him.
“Kurama…” Kuwabara gently tried, very surprised by the Youko’s abrupt behavior flip.
Kurama pressed into Kuwabara, his gaze fixed on Yukina, who kept her head slightly bowed, her hands and the medicinal herbs still held out before her. He sniffed the air in her general direction before he settled around Kuwabara, a clawed hand cupping his head, and going to warp around the back. Kurama then tugged Kuwabara to him, shifting so that his body was a clear block between Yukina and Kuwabara, his tail twitching with irritation.
“Kurama, no,” Hiei said patiently, his voice firm. Slow but sure, Hiei walked to stand in front of Yukina, his red eyes fixing Kurama with a look. “She is helping Kuwabara. Do you smell?” Hiei kept his eyes on the angered fox, while he reached back and took up some of the medicinal herbs. He approached Kurama slowly, holding the dried herbs out.
“Do you see? Can you smell it?” Hiei prompted patiently. “She is helping. Do not snap at her. You will not harm her!”
Kurama sniffed the air again, a growl in the back of his throat and rumbling around the room look an ominous storm. There were a few more seconds of quiet tension, and then Kurama flopped against Kuwabara, taking the large man by surprise. Kuwabara fell on his back as the Youko stretched out on him, pinning Kuwabara beneath his arms as he nuzzled against Kuwabara’s face.
“Is he uh… good now?” Kuwabara asked, voice wobbly with tension.
“He’s fine. He’s protective of his pack. Maybe he doesn’t quite understand our words in the state,” Hiei sighed. He turned back to Yukina and returned the herbs. A faint smile touched his lips, “Sorry.”
“Oh, it’s fine… I think he knows I’m helping. He can surely smell it… but I don’t think he liked that I caused Kazuma further pain,” Yukina giggled, non-plussed by the fox demon’s behavior. “I got the biggest injuries sorted, so Kazuma should be okay.”
Yukina peeked over Hiei’s shoulder, and cupped a hand to her mouth, “I think for my safety though, you’ll have to let the rest heal up on its own!”
“No problem,” Kuwabara weakly laughed, gently patting Kurama’s sides as the Youko shot Yukina a mistrustful expression.
“Like I said. A demon is still a demon. No matter how friendly… he’s dangerous,” Koenma cautioned. “I think you three are going to be the best people to stick by him. To make sure he doesn’t maim someone he doesn’t remember…”
Yusuke nodded, “Yeah, I see your point now.”
Hiei approached Kurama who was still perched atop Kuwabara, keeping him pressed to the floor. He pat Kurama’s head, and Youko leaned against it, practically purring with delight.
“Do not snap at my sister,” Hiei warned in a quiet tone mingled with affection.
Kurama whined and exposed his throat to Hiei. Hiei sighed, and scratched him under his chin, “Though if he is going to snap at others… we should invite Yomi over.”
Yusuke perked up at the thought immediately, “Oh my God, can we please? I wanna see him maul that ear-fucker!”
“No, no, no! Don’t you cause trouble!” Koenma snapped.
Kurama snapped his head over at Koenma, his hackles raised once again. Pressing protectively over Kuwabara again, he growled.
Panicking Koenma held up his hands, “Now, now! Easy Kurama! Be a good boy! I’m not threatening your friends!”
Kuwabara chuckled, most of his nerves resettled, “This is going to be some week!”

Can I have a drabble with Kuwabara taking his demon S/o, female black lioness, on a date to a human mall? Her being a really sweet and flirty but not afraid to speak her mind... If so, thank you!!
Most teenage boys did NOT like malls. They did not like sitting around waiting for you to tried on dress after shirt after shoes. And most teenage boys did not like being asked their opinions on what color made your eyes pop, because most teenage boys did not care about what made you look the cutest.
But Kuwabara was not most teenage boys.
“Oooh ___! You try this one on- and this one! This one too! You’d look cute in all of these ___-chan!” he cheered, pushing hand-fulls of hangers into your face,  “Though… of course, you’d look cute in anything…”
He blushed a bit at this. You looked between him and the obscene amount of clothes in his hands with a… forced smile.
Now most girls would love having a boyfriend that loved going to the mall with them. They’d love having a boy to fawn over them and reach the really high-up tank tops and have a ton of opinions on what pallette best matched your personality.
But you as well, were not most girls.
“So what do you think?” he asked excitedly.
You looked at the pieces for a long time. There were so many they were overwhelming. You couldn’t even decide what you were looking at let alone what you liked.
You shook your head.
Kuwabara immediately looked disappointed.
“I’m sorry I just… You know I’m kind of hungry actually. I can’t really think about clothes. Want to grab some food?” you asked.
Kuwabara immediately perked up at the notion. Okay, maybe he was a little like most boys, “Sounds great!”
“… And so this is called a food court, because uh, there’s food and stuff! I don’t really know what court has to do with it, it’s not like we’re playing basketball or there’s a judge or anything.” Kuwabara laughed loudly at his own joke, and you couldn’t help but giggle a little too. Anything to distract you from the very sticky looking chicken from Panda… Something on your styrofoam plate.
“Are you okay ___?” Kuwabara asked.
“Y-Yeah I just…” you sighed, “I don’t know. I guess I just don’t really see the appeal to all this. It’s just so intense here, with all the people and shops and restaurants and none of it is really for me, you know?”
“I guess yeah…” he said, downtrodden, “I’m sorry ___-chan. I didn’t mean to put you through something that would make you uncomfortable…”
“Uncomfortable isn’t the right word…” you said, contemplatively, “It’s more… Boring! Yeah! It’s just boring!”
This did not make Kuwabara feel much better.
“I’d have a lot more fun just spending some alone time together.” you purred.
This immediately lifted Kuwabara’s spirits.
Okay. Maybe he was a lot like most boys.
