The group ended up leaving shortly after their tour had ended and yet I couldn’t seem to get the blazing green eyes of the cocky pilot out of my head. Making my way towards the back office now that the work day was coming to a close, I see Sweetie muttering to herself in the break room but decide to give her a moment. Plus if there’s one thing on my mind and it’s the iced cold sweet tea on my desk. Practically chugging the drink after my day of running around I step back out into the breakroom and see Sweetie face down on a table, groaning nonsense into the air.
“What’s your deal Sweets?” I ask her with a gentle tone. She goes on to tell me about her nerves about going on a date with one of the Pilots from the private tour who had asked her out, Bob she said was his name. I offer up my support and tell her if needs anything I’m here. With that I start to head out for the day, packing up my tote bag that carries my personal items such as my headphones, laptop, wallet, etc. Forgetting that my day literally started off as Hell I realize it’s a long walk to my car than normal but since the museum is near a Navy Base it’s not the worst area. So, I pop on my headphones and play some rock music and start my trek to my car.
Patting the black dress slacks I have on to the rhythm of the music I listen to, I’m feeling the nice warm breeze and appreciating the weather is cooling off now that the sun has started to set. I pay attention to the beauty in the mundane of the neighboring buildings and the museum, I decide to take a picture of the sunset and send it to my sister who lives farther away from me than I’m happy with. Within minutes I’m receiving a call from her.
Between placing my headphones back into my bag and answering the phone, I am almost at my car.
“Sup slut.” She says as soon as I answer, “Hey hooker.” I retort with a laugh. We talk for my entire drive home about everything and anything. “I’m pulling up to my house right now, I’ll call you later this week. Love ya.” She responds and then hangs up. When I look down at my phone I notice a text from an unknown number, I’m assuming that’s Jake, and my thoughts are confirmed when I read what he wrote.
(***)***-****: Hon, it’s me, Jake ;)
I quickly change his name to Dollface and respond.
Dynamite: and?
Dollface: You wound me…
Dollface: u busy?
Dynamite: Im not looking for a hookup Jake.
Dollface: You’re more than that to me babe.
Dollface: Let’s go stargazing on the beach.
Dynamite: I literally don’t know you. I feel like I should be more concerned than I am.
Dollface: Promise I’ll be on my best behavior hon.
Dynamite: It’s getting to be dark…
Dollface: Duhhh that’s how we’ll see the stars.
Dollface: I’ll pick u up?
Dynamite: hmm…
Dynamite: Sure. you kill me tho, i’ll be pissed.
Dollface: couldn’t dream about hurting u darlin’.
We exchange addresses and I look up from my phone and notice my cheeks getting warm and noticed a smile grazing my lips. I quickly get up to change out of my work clothes into something a little more beach friendly and comfortable. Zipping up a light gray jacket and throwing on some basketball shorts, I hear a buzz from my phone and read the text that says “im here :)”.
I grab a throw blanket off my couch and slip my shoes on, lock the door behind me, and head towards his car… which is a convertible. That’s so hot. Way more than it should be, to be honest.
Jake gets out of the sage green car and opens the door for me, “Sexy car and a sexy man? What did I do to deserve such treatment?” I say flashing a grin at him as he got back into the car. He lets out a breath and smiles while he puts the car in reverse. “Exist,” he responded while putting his arm on the back of my seat to back the car out of its parking spot. I catch a motion of his smell, and it’s delightful. It smells like green apple and a hint of sandalwood, but not too much of either, it is subtle enough that he just smells fresh.
I want to bury my face in his neck. I try to catch myself staring at him before he does, but my efforts were futile. As he finished reversing the car he paused for a second before he switched gears and just stared at me with a soft smile. “You’re staring.” I say quietly, “So are you,” he responds just as gently. We are already so close it would be so easy just to lean in and kiss him. But I don’t, as much as I want to. I don’t. Instead, I lean back into my seat and grab his hand to hold on the way to the beach.
On the way to the beach, the drive was filled with comfortable conversation. I found out he has two sisters; one older and one younger. He found out I had one younger sister. His favorite color is forest green and mine is light pink. But I find myself starting to favor a bright green color as well. When we arrive at the beach I realize that we don’t really need the blanket unless we get cold, since Jake’s car has a detachable roof.
Jake gets out of the car and opens the trunk and grabs a mini cooler. When he sits back down in the car I just look at him in slight awe.
“You packed us a picnic?” I asked while feeling warm inside. “Well yeah, pretty much after the tour I went home and packed this and hoped you would say yes.” He said looking at me softly. Where did this man come from? And why does this feel slightly too good to be true?
“What would you have done if I said no?” I questioned, “I don’t want to think about that.” He responded. He glanced at me and then looked down at the cooler and started to pull drinks out of it, “Listen, I know we just met today but there is a flare about you that I just can’t seem to let go of quite yet,” He paused and handed me the can of soda he opened for me, “Forgive me for being so forward but in life there is no time to waste. I want to date you.” He finished with a slight drawl to his final words. “Now I’m not asking you to be my girlfriend yet. Heavy on the yet. But I am interested in you and want to get to know you.”
I take a sip of my soda and then look back at him, “Jake, I think I would really enjoy that.” He smiled a heartwarming smile at me and it’s moments like this that are hard for me to describe in words but there is something about this man that just makes me want to run into a sunset with him. “Okay Dollface, teach me about the stars,” I say. “Oh babe, I’m about to rock your world with my astrology knowledge.” He responds and I can’t help but laugh at him.
—-------
Further into the date and it’s reaching to be fairly late in the night and we’ve moved from the car to laying on the beach on the blanket. I try to hold in a yawn listening to Jake talk. “Ouch, I’m boring ya that much?” He says while pulling me closer to him, “No sorry Doll, has anyone told you before that your voice is super soothing?” I asked him with a tired tone to my voice. He just pulls me even tighter to him tucking my head underneath his neck and holding me to his chest. God I could stay like this forever. He’s so comforting and warm.
“Hon, you say things like that and it’s hard for me not to propose to ya.” He said, “You’ve already proposed once Doll, what’s a second time?” I murmur into his body. “No, the next time I ask you to marry me will be for real.” He responded softly. I look up at him and slightly pull away. “Jake,” I say as I look at his face that’s slightly illuminated by the moon reflecting off the ocean, I stare at his eyes and then take a glance down at his lips. He does the same.
“I’m sorry was that too corny?” He asked with a slight chuckle. “I kinda liked it.” I respond, “I like that you’re so confident in the fact that it’s me you see your future with. It’s actually really attractive.”  He responds with a look in his eyes one that makes my heart beat quickly “Babe I’ve never been so sure about anything in my life.” With that being said I grab the back of his neck and pull him in to kiss me.
He quickly grabs my waist and I move to straddle him. I pull slightly on his hair and a small noise comes out of him. He pulls me even closer to him and I can feel both of our growing excitement as the makeout continues. I slightly grind down on him and hear him let out another noise of enjoyment. He flips us over to make it where I am underneath him and he is now borderline laying on top of me. He starts kissing my neck and I can’t help but let a moan fall between my lips. “Jake, fuck.” He laughs, “I know baby, I know.” He kisses me again and gently pulls the zipper down from my jacket to make for easier access. He trails his lips down my neck and reaches in between my breasts. “Can I?” he asks as he looks up with his face nearly buried between my boobs. “Oh my god please,” I beg. He lets out a groan with my words and pulls my bra straps down just enough to allow access to them and gently takes a nipple in his mouth. “Oh fuck.” I moan out and push his head closer to my chest. He lets go of my nipple with a wet pop and looks at my face which is in complete awe of this man in front of me.
“We weren’t supposed to be going this far.” He says to me out of breath as he readjusts my bra and jacket for me, “I know. But does that make me a hypocrite if I want to take you home with me?” I ask. Referring to my text from earlier. “We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to Jake. But I am offering you to stay the night if you’d like.”
He leans up to kiss me and leaves a soft warm kiss on my lips and I gently kiss him back awaiting his answer. “Baby I would love to stay the night but I need to know you really want this. Because once I have you I don’t think I’ll be able to stop.”

Do you have any idea how tempted I was to just copy paste the entire list of fics? ANYWAYS-
“The Time & Legend whumptober continuation” :D
“Various Incredibles au “oneshots” :)
“An original zelda idea l've been messing with” XD
The Time and Legend Whumptober continuation
Ohhh this is my evilest wip, I went absolutely ham on the angst in this guy. It’s a continuation of a whumptober I wrote in 2021, and a lot of people really wanted a continuation.
So I started out writing just a short thing, but then it grew, and grew and grew and grew and now I have over 13k of this fic in which everyone has a very very very bad time. I was working on it a little today actually :)
“That’s... going to b-be a problem,” he rasps, and Time helps him shift into a better position, where he ends up leaning heavily on the old man’s shoulder with a bitten-back groan.
Time takes one look at Legend’s bad arm and realizes it’s merely dislocated, rather than broken like he originally feared. He runs a careful hand over the veteran’s arm and shoulder, and Legend bites back a whine.
“F-fix it,” he bites out, and Time sighs.
“Vet you’ve got other more pressing injuries, we should bandage them before we try to—”
“Please,” Legend whispers, and the lack of snark immediately convinces Time. A long, measured breath escapes his mouth, and he changes his position, holding Legend’s arm down as he prepares to slot it back into place.
Various Incredibles au oneshots
Once again, going to put this under a cut because this post would be very long without it :)
These are lots of little bits and ficlet things that will probably one day become oneshots, but for now are just little ideas I write down that I don’t want to forget. Some are more put together than others though, such as the one this bit is from!
“I don’t know if we can make it across that,” Warriors said uneasily, squinting at the rain that blocked their view. “The river rose fast...”
“If we don’t cross now though, we might not be able to get back for some time,” Artemis replied, her eyes still bright with worry.
They exchanged looks again, then Warriors grabbed an umbrella, and got out of the car.
“Link, don’t do anything foolish,” Artemis warned, then also got out of the car, following after him to where he stood by the bank of the river.
“I’m not doing anything foolish, I’m just seeing if we’ll be able to get across,” Warriors refuted, then handed her the umbrella. “Here, I’m going to get a closer look.” Then he paused and handed her his scarf as well, putting it around her shoulders with a grin. “Don’t get it wet.”
“Be careful,” Artemis warned, and Warriors gave her a cocky grin before stepping out from the shelter of the umbrella, near immediately getting soaked.
An original zelda idea I’ve been messing with
I’ve mentioned this one a handful of times, but the basic gist is that the Link in this story (I call him Lost) gets corrupted by the bad guy (Vaati im thinking). It’s up to Zelda to travel across Hyrule and discover the identities of the six sages in order to stop the villain and un-corrupt Link, who functions similarly to Ghirahim in that he’s actively hunting her and has to be fought multiple times.
I’ve written bits of it now and then just to play with ideas, but I don’t know if it’ll ever be a real “fic”. Either way, I like talking about it, and I’ve even designed some characters and things :)
Here’s one of the parts I’ve written!
Zelda took a slow breath in, steeling herself for the words about to come out of Impa’s mouth.
“The Hero has been corrupted.”
The room went into an uproar but Zelda barely heard it, biting her lip so hard it nearly drew blood. Link, her best friend, and really only friend aside from Impa, had been twisted into little more then a puppet for Ambassador Vaati to use as he pleased.
She felt distantly like she was going to throw up.
“—doesn’t even have the blade! Are we certain the boy is the hero?” one of her councilors boomed, “for all we know Vaati merely created a lookalike of our best knight to frighten us! Are we even certain the boy is still ali—”
“That’s quite enough,” Impa said sternly, then placed a hand on Zelda’s shoulder. “We have firsthand reports of what happened. Captain Link is who has been corrupted.”

Amphibia Oneshot Thing(I Never Claimed To Be Good At Titles)
I had an idea for a fun little story thing while I was at work over the weekend, and decided to take the time to write it up into this. In all honesty this is ridiculously self indulgent, and I wrote it late at night with no editing, beta reading, or even just looking back over it once I finished. Essentially I wrote this entirely for myself and just threw it on here in the hopes maybe a few other people might enjoy it like I do. That’s all I gotta say up front so just, here you go. (this is a long one so most of the story will be under a cut).
Anne found herself wandering around a lot of parks these days. After all her time inAmphibia sitting around in her house only made her anxious, and the city was just dull. So she would sit in the areas with the most foliage, where it always felt the most comfortable. Like one of her old adventures could come find her any second. Like she could pretend her friends were just around the corner and surely if she waited just one more second Marcy would come tumbling out of those bushes, launching right away into a rambling speech about a new plant she'd found, the perfect mix of adorable passion and somewhat interesting information that would always make Anne smile.
She knew that wasn't going to happen. She'd known and tried to force herself to get used to the idea, but even as her miserable daydream was interrupted by the rustling of the very bushes she'd imagined, she hoped for a second maybe she'd imagined it all. She hadn't of course, and the boy who pushed his way out of the bushes was anything but her Marcy. Even so, he must have noticed her solemn expression, because he immediately walked over to where she sat with a look of concern on his face.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Anne was surprised by the question for a moment, then again, she realized, she probably did look pretty miserable, moping around in the dirt in a random park. She was tempted to give an offhanded reply of dismissal, she was fine and his concern was almost certainly just a polite formality. But she was never good at following through with all that smile and say Im fine stuff.
"I've been better," she sighed.
The boy in front of her frowned, and took a seat beside her.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Anne blinked in surprise, not expecting that reaction. She took a second glance at the kid, wondering what his deal was. He looked a few years younger than her, probably about Sprig's age, dressed for wandering around the woods. He looked like a kid who liked an adventure, maybe that's why Anne felt like she might be able to talk to him. She couldn't say everything of course, god knows she'd need a full time therapist for all her turmoil, but maybe she could simplify it a little bit, dance around the truth slightly. Besides, the more she thought about it the more the idea of talking to a regular kid sounded nice.
"Well," she began, searching for each word and phrase carefully, "a while ago, me and my friends found this weird place. It was scary at first, and I was nervous for a bit, but after a while I grew to love it a lot. I think- I know my friends felt the same. It was a really magical place, but it, uh, well its not around anymore. And I feel like I left a part of myself with it." Anne suddenly became overwhelmingly aware that she had just poured her heart out to a random stranger, and probably sounded insane on top of it, "Ugggh I sound stupid, nevermind kid just ignore me, thanks for trying though."
She started to get up and walk away but the boy jumped up at the same time.
"Wait, hold on. I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but from the sound of it, I think I kind of get it. I've got a pretty magical place of my own, I can't imagine loosing it. I know it's not the same but, I could take you there, if that would help?"
Anne turned back to look, not sure why this kid was so eager to help, until she saw the look on his face. He just looked like a kid who wanted to help, just for the sake of being nice. In that moment he reminded her of Sprig again, and she couldn't help it, she laughed.
"Seriously? You don't even know me. You sure?"
The boy shrugged and smiled. "There's lots of cool people I don't know yet. And you seem nice. So," he reached out his hand, "my name's Craig, nice to meet you."
As weird as this was, Anne had seen weirder, so sure, why not. She took the boy's hand.
"Call me Anne."
---
As they walked Anne started to wonder where this weird kid was taking her. Sure “magical place” in her situation was fairly literal, but she didn’t think she was exactly in the most common position for a kid. Or really for anyone for that matter. Still, the boy seemed pretty excited about it, so she figured she’d give it a shot. Better than moping around in some random bushes all day. Who knows, maybe she could even get her hopes up a little bit there would at least be something cool out there.
‘Something cool’ turned out to be a tree stump. Anne wasn’t sure if the kid was serious or not when they first got to the clearing, but based on the way he jumped up on the tree base and spread his arms wide.
“Welcome to the stump!”
Anne stared at him for a few seconds, not sure how to respond. Before bursting into laughter. She just couldn’t help it. There had been so much buildup, all for, apparently a regular tree stump. Craig crossed his arms and spoke up.
“Hey, I know it doesn’t look like much, but you haven’t seen anything yet, watch this!”
Whatever he was about to do, though, was cut off by a battle cry and a flash of orange hair flying at Anne from the trees. It was pure instinct, really, when Anne dove behind cover of the stump screaming,
“It’s an ambush!”
She realized her mistake a few short seconds later. Ivy Sundew literally could not be here. So, with no small amount of hesitation, she peeked over the edge of the stump to see a small girl pointing a homemade sword at her while trying to cover up a pouting expression. Anne could vaguely make out the girl muttering under her breath about how “noble warriors don’t ‘ambush.’“
“So, uh, are you gonna put the sword down orrr...”
Anne trailed off as the girl gave her a weary glance and muttered something about ‘intruders.’ It was at this point that Craig, who seemed to have tripped and fallen off the stump in the chaos, also poked his head back up and called out,
“Kelsey, wait! She’s with me!”
The short girl’s demeanor changed immediately.
“Oh, cool! Hi Craig, hi new girl, sorry I attacked you, I thought you were a devilish intruder.”
“Don’t worry about it, I get randomly attacked a lot, it happens.”
The girl, Kelsey, apparently, looked over Anne again, a thoughtful expression on her face.
“You do? Do you need a heroic guardian to protect you?”
Well, Anne noted, maybe this girl wasn’t so similar to Ivy after all. Though she still got the feeling the two of them would get along exceptionally well. She gave Kelsey a grateful smile, but shrugged off the offer.
“Nah, I’m good.”
Kelsey nodded, seeming to finally relax, though she did pause for a moment and stare off into the distance, though to Anne it seemed more like she was probably just gazing into the depths of a random tree. She gave Craig a curious look, but he only waved it off, apparently this was just how things worked with Kelsey. Noted. When she came back down to earth Craig was waiting with a question,
“Where’s J.P.?”
“Oh he found a butterfly and then chased it into a mud puddle. It was close though so I went on ahead.” Her tone of voice suddenly changed into a much more dramatic one. “He and I both had our own battles to fight.” Before immediately going back to her normal one. “But he should be right behind me.”
Sure enough it was at  that moment another boy crawled out from the foliage outlining the clearing. This one already in a considerably messier state than either of the kids Anne had met so far. He wandered over to the stump, repeating the tale Kelsey had just told them, this time with a much higher focus on the mud puddle. He didn’t seem to notice Anne at all until she cleared her throat and waved hello. The boy, J.P. she assumed, immediately jumped with an exclamation of surprise.
“Relax J.P. she’s cool.”
Anne was a little pleased to notice this reassurance came from Kelsey this time, and didn’t miss the way Craig nodded in agreement.
“She was off by herself so I thought we could give her a tour of the creek.”
That last bit caught Anne off guard, just a bit. Up till this point she had just been assuming Craig had took her here to see the stump and his friends. She wasn’t sure how much more exciting one creek could be, but after all her time in Amphibia she wasn’t one for making too many assumptions about that kind of thing. Turning her focus back to J.P. she noticed how he looked her up and down with squinted eyes, before seeming to focus on the leaves and sticks that had (again?! seriously?!) gotten tangled in her hair, and nodding sagely.
“Good call Craig! I like her style.”
As J.P. immediately began to inspect the ground for his own leaf, which he immediately deposited snugly in his, much shorter, hair, Craig waved Anne over to the stump, where he’d rolled out a large piece of paper.
“This,” he announced proudly, “is my map of the creek!”
Anne wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but a fully detailed expansive rendition of what must have been a really large area of land, complete with notations of inhabitants, activities, landmarks, and literally anything else one could find to write down, had not been it. She gave a low whistle of appreciation. Man Marcy would’ve loved this.
Craig beamed at her show of awe, allowing himself a pleased, “drew the whole thing myself” before asking, “So, where do you wanna see first?”
---
After that, Anne was pulled around the creek to all sorts of locations, each one more intricate than the last. There was an entire colony of kids in these woods, a civilization even. Even on Amphibia she had never seen anything quite like it. It was wild, and, kinda cool? The more she saw the more she started to get what Craig meant. The whole place had its own feeling to it that didn’t quite mesh with any of the surrounding area. After a while, she was even able to push (most of) the weight that had been on her shoulders for so long to the back of her mind.
Which wasn’t to say that her time in Amphibia left her completely. In all likelihood it was more inclined to have already made her a primary target for whispers and gossip to all the kids there. Though she never would’ve expected it before she’d gotten flown away from earth so long ago, she was kinda an expert at being in the woods now. Though she did slip up once or twice. For one dangerous moment there she was mortified that everyone would think she was insane when, upon being shown to the trading tree she had casually remarked,
“I don’t see why you need a whole place to trade for snacks when there are so many perfectly good bugs to eat out here.”
In her defense, she also preferred a good bag of chips over tiny dirt critters, but what could she say, she’d gotten used to a lot of weird things. While her immediate first reaction upon the words escaping her mouth had been to play it off as a lame joke(especially considering the way all the kids stared at her, some in horror, some in awe, at least one clearly wondering to themselves why they didn’t think of that first, the clearing totally silent save one kid who apparently didn’t get the memo and loudly exclaimed something Anne thought sounded like “my candy!”) her backup plan ended up being totally unnecessary as J.P. just started laughing, confidently proclaiming,
“I told y’all, she fits right in here”
And sure, maybe that made Anne smile just a little bit.
After that they had a few more people to meet, including a few girls prancing around a big open field, one of whom blushed slightly as she informed J.P. that she liked his leaf, to which J.P. gave a cheerful giggle and a thanks. (Anne considered it one of her foremost signs of character development that she didn’t break out any magazines as soon as they got back to the stump). But eventually things started to wind down, and the trio of friends, along with their new straggler, made it back to the little home base.
Anne took a few minutes to discuss the finer points of exploring woods with Craig, who had been eager to talk about it since they’d gone out earlier, while out of the corner of her eye Anne watched Kelsey do mock battle with an imagined enemy.
“You know, my little brother is much better at this stuff than I am, maybe you’d like to meet him sometime?” Though she’d posed the question to Craig, she didn’t bother to wait for an answer, as she saw Kelsey perform another made up sword move, and something occurred to her. “Hold that thought.”
Walking over to Kelsey, Anne continued to watch her form, confident enough based on where she was swinging and where her eyes were trained on that she had a pretty good idea of what the fake enemy the other girl was fighting might look like. Eventually she offered,
“You’re pretty good, but if you’re fighting something that much bigger than you, you’re gonna want to switch up your strategy a little bit.”
Without waiting for Kelsey’s reaction Anne grabbed a stick off the ground and performed a demonstration of a few moves she’d picked up in Amphibia. Though sword fighting was never something she had expected to be proficient at, she couldn’t deny that at this point she’d picked up a decent amount of skill. Once she’d finished her quick combo demonstration she turned to where Kelsey was standing, a little surprised to see a look of pure awe on the younger girl’s face, before she shouted,
“YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A REAL SWORD??????”
Anne grinned sheepishly at her excitement. “Uhhh, yeah, a little bit I guess?”
She’d barely gotten the words out before Kesley was on her, begging her to show more moves or better yet, spar with her. Anne waited for the tirade of excitement to slow down before smiling and offering,
“Sure I guess I could, but honestly my little sis knows way more about this fighting stuff than I do. If you want someone to practice with she’s your best bet. I could bring her out here some time, if you’d like.”
Kelsey’s excited nodding was interrupted by an instrument Anne couldn’t quite place, and suddenly the smaller girl’s shoulders fell in disappointment, before immediately perking back up again.
“That’s dinner, but you can bring her tomorrow! I’ll see you then!”
She waved goodbye as she rushed off, as did J.P. though with considerably less rushing, leaving just Anne and Craig, who seemed to also be on his way out. Anne figured that was just one more of the natural ways of the creek. As he left, though, Craig paused for a moment.
“I’m not sure where your special place was, but this is a pretty good one for a lot of kids here. I hope you had fun, I know we did. See you around Anne?”
Anne could tell the last bit was phrased as a question, and she paused to think, if only for a moment. Sure this was no Amphibia, and sure a lot of the stuff that had happened since Craig had tumbled out of those bushes was pretty weird. And maybe she did feel a little guilty that she was off playing around while her friends in Amphibia were, well... But still, for the first time since her birthday, Anne had gone one day where she actually felt like the 13 year old kid she was. Sooner or later she could blow their minds with magic powers and frog siblings, but for now, she was just Anne, she was just a kid. She gave a grateful smile.
“See you around, Craig of the Creek.”

Nothin’ On You // Sero x Shy!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Kinda long! But I owe Sero for taking so long on finishing this! Hope you like it! ^^
The first time you meet is for a school project
In middle school he was the cool guy that got along with pretty much everyone. At first you would hide away, which was easy with a quirk like yours. You would turn translucent and mute according to your mood, so every time you tried to muster up the courage to talk to him when he passed you by in the halls, you would completely disappear. It was a game of chance to see who was paired with who when the fated project came up, but when you were paired with Sero you almost entirely disappeared off of the face of the earth. You begin to wonder if you could escape class without being noticed when he makes his way over and plops down in the seat next to you.
"Name's Hanta Sero, what's yours?"
Your face flushes, body turning translucent for a split second before you take his hand and shake it. "It's..." Your voice fails you. Of course it had to happen now. Your quirk just had to be a two-in-one kind of deal.
Lifting a finger, you scribble your name down on a loose piece of paper and offer it to him.
He looks at the scrap of paper with curiosity. “Cute name.” He looks back to you. “Is that your quirk? The..?” He motions to his body and mouth.
You nod sagely.
He beams. "Nice to meet you."
The tension in your shoulders lessen. Grabbing your textbook and one of your notebooks made for this type of situation, you write down several questions before pointing to the textbook pages.
He reads each message, surprisingly more patient with your quirk than others. Some expected you to push past it or get over your shyness, but he went with it. It made you feel.. valid. Like your quirk wasn't a burden.
“Sounds like we'll be having a few all nighters on this one, Mr. Takeshi expects waaay too much of us if he wants this done in a week.” Sero looks at you curiously. “What do you think? We could do it at one of those 24/7 cafes nearby.”
Feeling yourself relaxing, you realize you've returned to being opaque as you nod in agreement. "Sounds like a plan."
His smile brightens. "Hey, your voice is pretty cute too chica!"
This time you're glad you disappear from sight, hands covering your mouth as he laughs heartily.
The project was an odd success
After your initial shock and shyness of being paired up with Sero, you both were a rather successful couple when it came to academics. You split the work equally and helped each other when either of you needed it. While he wasn't always the brightest, he always managed to put a smile on your face when you were studying long into the night, when your eyelids grew too heavy and your will to study lessened. When the day of the presentation came and you both took to the front of the class, it was his support that kept you from disappearing out of fright. However, now that it was over, you were surprised he still wanted to hang out with you, even if it wasn't required anymore.
“Oi, chiquita bonita! Over here!” Sero waves to you from across the classroom. He was sitting in his normal spot with his usual clique, and normally you didn't mix with them. They seemed nice, but it was always awkward when you joined him. You felt like they only tolerated you because of him.
Gathering your items, you shuffle out of your desk space and join him, blushing slightly as he scoots his seat to the side to make space for you right next to him. You could feel the burning stares of the girls surrounding him. You held on though, focusing on staying opaque, knowing he would try getting to the bottom of why you were nervous. Oh if only he knew how hated you were by his clique of girls.
“We did pretty good on the presentation didn't we?” He asks while draping an arm across the back of your chair, his body completely at ease. “Even the cabrón was impressed.”
You smack him lightly on the back of his head. You didn't know a lot of spanish, if at all, but you picked up some slang from the boy next to you. “Don't be mean Hanta, he's not all that bad.”
The girls’ hiss at your action, but Sero only laughs and tugs you closer under his arm. “Lo siento cariño. I'm sorry, but it's not my fault he has a stick up there.” He gestures upward with his middle finger.
You knew if you tried speaking, your voice would have fizzled out like a drop of water on a hot stove.
After the project you two were nearly inseparable, everyone knew you and Sero were an item (even if you both didn't see it)
“Dios mio! What did we do to earn this princesa?”
You turn around to the source of the voice, pausing on decorating the stage of the auditorium. It was Sero, you could tell immediately by his voice, but what you didn't understand was the context of his words. What was he talking about?
The confusion must have shown on your face as he moves closer and climbs onto the stage, walking up to you until he was by your side. “You're all dolled up. What's the occasion?” He holds you by the shoulders and peers behind you as well, earning a pinch on his cheek.
“It's the dance this week, remember? But the play is before, so we have to set up so it's all ready for the night. That means dress rehearsals too.” You were a part of the theatre group, an odd choice for someone who disappears when they get stage fright, but you were heavily invested in what you did. It was a passion you indulged.
“Aye, yeah I forgot about that.” Sero rubs his neck and looks at the ground, deep in thought. At least for two minutes. After the two minutes he peeks at you with a mischievous grin. ”Wanna go to the dance with me?”
To your credit, you manage to stay opaque while your heart beats wildly in its cage. “Thats a dumb way of asking me out.” You mutter while sliding down from the stage, nearly cutting yourself on one of the loose planks.
“¡Cuidado!” He holds his arms out, ready to help you down. “I don't want my date to get hurt you know?”
“I can still dance in a cast.” You brush off his concern with a rare smile. Crushes aside, you appreciated his friendship and concern.
“The fuck is this, Romeo and Juliet? Get a room!” A classmate yells from the lighting stage, laughing when you flip them the bird.
Sero joins in the laughter, leaving soon after apologizing to your classmate. Said classmate meets you in front of the stage, arms crossed and looking back and forth between you and the now closed auditorium door.
“So are you guys dating now?”
“No, we're just friends.” You rub your neck, feeling the translucency crawl up your neck. But it couldn't wipe away the smile on your face.
You gravitate towards each other
Stretching your arms in front of you, you twist your body to the right and sigh as you feel a pop. You didn't particularly like gym class but it was nice to get a good stretch.
Looking around at the field in front of you, you wave at the occasional friendly face. You had friends in this class, which made it even more bearable.
"Hola princesa!"
Sero?
Turning around you grin at the familiar face. You run to the fence blocking you in, gripping it as you watch your friend run to you. He holds your hand through the fence, a normal occurance and a habit you've grown fond of.
"What are you doing here?" You question while turning your hand in order to squeeze his, heart fluttering when you see the small tinge of pink on his cheeks.
"Just here to say hi. My next class is in E block." He peers over your shoulder. You were about the same height, somewhere around 5'4, so you relished being able to see him eye to eye (mostly) while it lasted. He grew a bit over the break of your first year. "Playing anything?"
"Volleyball." You shiver. "I'm team captain, but I suck at it." Who would you pick? Would you actually be a good leader? You feel your voice leave you as you begin to rival that of an onion skin, growing more and more invisible.
A small pinch on the back of your hand pulls you back to reality. Sero waggles a finger, tisking at you. "Don't sweat it, you'll do great." He squeezes your hand before backing up, walking backwards as he heads to class. "Just breathe princesa!"
"Got it." You whisper to yourself, waving to him as you watch him enter the building across from you.
Sadly by the end of your second year, he had grown taller, leaving you craning your neck to look at him.
When he entered U.A. you still cheered him on
Graduating middle school was tough when you split off into different schools. You knew you would keep in contact, but it was so much harder to spend time together when you didnt attend the same schools. Still, with each video chat and phone call, with each text, you showered him with all your love and support. He wanted to be a hero, and you were happy to support him with that dream!
You: Saw you on the tv, you were amazing!
Sero: thanks 😙 still lost tho 😅😅😁😁
You: Yeaaah🤔 but you still looked really cool! Still, didn't realize you were strong enough to pull that Todoroki guy that way 🧐
Sero: Im just full of surprises princesa 😘
Sero mentioned you often to his friends
You were mentioned in at least one conversation a day, it didn't matter the context, you just sort of popped up. What could he say, he loved you! You were his go to for support and someone he truly valued. Plus you weren't crazy like his classmates.
“You keep talking about her but we've never actually seen her.” Mina leans forward on her palm as she sips at her milk tea. “You're not lying about her are you?” She wiggles her eyebrows, eliciting a laugh from Sero.
“Course she's real.”
Kirishima lays his head on the table of the booth they were at, looking at Sero with confusion. “Got proof? It’s not manly to lie to your friends bro.” Sure he believed in his friend, but after a year of just hearing about a special girl, it was hard to keep believing without some form of proof.
Sero holds up a finger as he pulls out his phone. Placing it flat on the table, he pushes the power button and watches his friends faces light up as they view his lock screen. It was a picture of you.
“Woah! Who's the hot chick?” Kaminari asks excitedly as he returns from the bathroom. “Is she single?”
Sero powers off his phone before smacking a piece of tape on his friend’s mouth, surprisingly feeling a twinge of anger at his words. You were his best friend! He had to protect you!
On the inside he knew his anger was from deeper feelings, but for now it was just from the fact that he may need to defend your innocence from his own schoolmate. You were so shy, he knew Kaminari’s flirting would be too much for you.
“Yeah, no cabrón. She's taken.”
You were there for his graduation
Needless to say, you were at his graduation! It was difficult to find him amidst the crowds of families wanting to take pictures of their children and siblings, and even some heroes wanting to say their goodbyes! You were absolutely bombarded and neigh invisible after overthinking the whole thing, so when you finally found him you were stunned into invisibility when his friends jumped you.
“Ohmygodohmygodit'sactuallyyouuuuuu!” Mina screams as she pulls you into her, squeezing the life out of you before you can get a breath out.
The boys were much gentler, but just as excited. Especially Kaminari.
“Hey it’s the hot girl- more like the gone girl, what's happening?” He questions as you disappear from sight, your voice completely AWOL.
Sero smacks his face as he curses his friends out. “Chingues! Give my girl some space hijos de perras!”
Mina gives you enough space to breathe but holds you much like one would a hostage. For a hero course student, you believed that she would have done very well as a villain.
“Nope! We get to meet this girl of yours, Tape Boy!” She looks down at you, squinting to try making out where your face would be, unknowingly glaring directly at you. “He talks about you almost nonstop yet you haven't visited us at all, how unfair is that?” Mina grins.
You come into focus, your voice a mere squeak as you brush some hair out of your face. “A little? I should've visited..” You introduce yourself to his cadre, your name stumbling off your lips.
“Hot and shy? What a cutie!” Kaminari hugs you from your available side where Mina wasn't holding you in a headlock.
A whip of tape smacks the blonde and sends him reeling back to Sero who holds him in a similar hold Mina was holding you.
Your friend ruffles Kaminari's hair in a somewhat violent manner, grinning at him with threatening eyes. "Go easy on her cabrón. She's not used to so many people doting on her."
They were doting on you? You tilt your head and look at Mina who was still examining you. "I don't think I deserve to be doted on, that's not what's going on here right?"
"Of course not, but you and I are gonna have some girl time while the boys get us a spot at a restaurant! You're gonna tell us all about how you and Tape Boy here met!" She chirps excitedly, pulling Bakugou in with her free arm as he tries escaping past her.
You feel a drop of sweat as you accept your fate, watching Bakugou attempt to wrangle his way to freedom. "Sure, sounds nice."
Sero made it rather big as a hero, see, he wasn't the strongest hero but he was very popular
He had always been popular, so it made sense to you when his ranking kept going up and up until he was in the high twenties. You knew he was good at what he did, being a source of smiles even in dark times, but it always brightened your day when you heard your coworkers mention him in passing.
“Have you heard about the hero Cellophane yet?”
“Yeah! I think I saw him around yesterday. He was eating soba with Shoto.”
You look backwards to see the faces of your junior coworkers. They were in a different department than you, but you enjoyed chatting with them every now and then. Mostly when it came to heroes as you had somewhat of an insiders look.
Had you forgotten to mention you were friends with Sero- Cellophane?
You debated whether to tell them over tea one day until you heard their next words.
“He’s kind of hot isn't he?”
... Maybe you would keep the secret to yourself.
As a hero he makes time to drop into your life, sometimes randomly
What else was to be said? Really?
A blur flashes by your face, causing you to yelp in shock, stepping back and nearly falling onto the unforgiving pavement. Luckily, said blur created a swing of tape just in time to catch you, pulling you forward and bringing you into his arms.
“Lo siento mi corazón! I didn't mean to make you fall.”  Sero grins at you, his arm wrapped securely around your waist. He definitely meant to make you fall, you could see the mischief behind his eyes.
“As if Hanta.” You pinch him on the cheek, a smile coming to your face when he whines. “Look I’m happy to see you but I've got to get to work on time today, no funny business.”
“No funny business?” He repeats after you, rubbing his chin in thought. “Then I guess I’ll have to escort you to make sure you get to work on time.”
Your eyes widen as you feel his hold grow tighter and more secure as he holds you flush against him. Oh no. “Wait Sero-!”
And just like that, you were in the air, swinging from building to building with him propelling you both forward. You attempt to scream at him but your voice is lost along the way as you hear the clicking of cameras.
Oh god they were taking pictures.
“Niña don't worry! We’re almost there!”
Luckily for you, you were never caught on camera. So your quirk did have some uses.
The media was sure he had a partner
The photos really ended up getting him in hot water as every interview he did, the topic of romance was brought up. Fans would notice he would avoid the topic of love, but on his social media he would constantly mention a girl. No one knew who this girl was, but fans and news stations were determined to wring it out of him.
Once the red light of the on-air button was out, the reporter in front of Sero swiftly covers the mic pinned to her lapel and scoots to the edge of her seat. Sero watches in quiet amusement as the whole station becomes silent. Weird. But he knew why they grew quiet so fast. They wanted information, and if even the news anchor waiting for his time to come up stopped his boisterous laughter, it must've been important.
“Off the record. Do you have a secret sweetheart stashed away somewhere Cellophane?”
Oh. This again.
He stretches his arms in front of him as he runs through his normal excuses and dodges for this question. All still viable and working, but.. Maybe he could give a little hint. The media was on his ass about this after those photos were taken of him and his girl, so it was only right to clear the air right?
“Turn on the cameras. I’ll give this to you.”
You were crushed when he admitted he did have a sweetheart (of sorts) and even more so when the media suspected it to be the Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl
The media did end up getting a bit of info out of him  and when you heard about this special girl your heart couldn't help but crack under the thought of him distancing himself from you to be with her. You treasured your friendship with him, romantic or not, you didn't want it to end. Because of this fear, you are the one who starts to close yourself off.
“Chiquita, what's wrong?” Sero follows you as you make your way to the kitchen, a bowl of chocolate coated pretzels in your arms. “Are you sick? I can stop by the pharmacy for you.”
“N-No, its okay. I'm not sick..” You back up when you see his arm stretched outward, flinching when the back of his hand meets your forehead.
He hums. “No fever.”
You push past him, abandoning the bowl of chocolatey treats on the counter. You felt yourself becoming frustrated. Not with him, but with yourself. His opinion meant the world to you- he was your best friend! And you were letting this relationship of his get to you. How petty could you be? He did nothing wrong. In fact, you should be happy for him, finally dating his high school sweetheart.
But the thought of him dating Invisible Girl- the irony of him dating an invisible girl- was just too much for your heart to take at the moment.
You had no way to take out this frustration. So it was reflected onto him.
“Cariño-”
“Please!” You slam your hands on the counter, voice fading in and out as you hide your face in the collar of your turtleneck. “Please.. Just go.”
The apartment was quiet, filled with only your ragged breathing as you hold in your rampant emotions. When he leaves with a silent goodbye, you're unsure if the breaking sound surrounding you is just in your head or if something truly reached into you and tore your heart to pieces.
He makes it very clear who that sweetheart is
Finally, he announces just who captured his heart. It was live on a jumbo screen, playing as you were out getting “groceries” for the nights dinner.
The hollow feeling in your chest wasn't easing, and it definitely wasn't made any better when you saw the Stealth Hero on the television next to her team. Though your calves were certainly doing better with how much speed walking you would do when you passed by convenience stores with tabloids lining their windows, photos of Sero and Invisible Girl on the front.
Work went by dreadfully slow, and lunch went by just as uneventfully as usual. You ignored the chatter of your coworkers, uninterested in what they had to say.
After the report came out, no one was talking about the top heroes anymore. They all were focused on the potential lovers and what other secret admiring the heroes had in their ranks. If other heroes were hiding their own affairs. If the popular Cellophane could hide his romance, maybe someone like Deku or Shoto could be too.
“We’re going out for drinks later, want to come with?” Your junior asks as she slings her purse strap over her shoulder. “Jin is paying~”
You respond with a polite smile. “No thanks. I’m going straight home.”
- - -
Going straight home was the plan, but in the end you had to make a quick trip to the nearest grocery store for dinner. Something quick, as you didn't have the energy to make something complicated.
Which meant you ended up buying only instant ramen.
It was on your way back, crossing a busy sector when the sound of your friend on the jumbo screen caught your attention.
“She's my corazón. Mi vida.”
You look up at the screen, stopping in your tracks.
Sero was blushing, a shy smile on his face, but his eyes were lit up with joy. You heart pulses rapidly in your chest, a blush creeping up your cheeks. You had never seen him so flustered, it was always the other way around.
“I’ve loved her since middle school. I never wanted to drag her into this, so I never confirmed her name- but its not Invisible Girl!” He amends quickly, looking at the reporter with a knowing look. He wags his finger, his infamous cocky smile replacing the twitterpated look from earlier.
“Sure, she has a similar quirk, which is how those photos came to be.” He leans back in his chair.
“You want to know her name right? I guess it wouldn't hurt to say. I’ve kept it hidden for so long, but here it is.”
And then he said it.
He said your name.
Looking directly at the screen, he smiles gently, eyes full of the warmth you've been craving ever since you were paired for that project years ago.
“Ella es mi tesoro. She is my treasure.”
Extra:
Racing home, you're not surprised when you find the lights on in your apartment. In fact, it only spurs you forward.
Yanking open the unlocked door, you drop your groceries and launch yourself into Sero’s arms as he held them open for a hug.
He was sweaty from rushing from the news station to your apartment, but neither of you were concerned about it as you laugh. You laugh at the tape still clinging to his clothes, you laugh at the ramen spilling out of your grocery bags, you laugh at your tears.
You laugh at how long it took for you both to finally admit how much you loved each other.
“Mi corazón.” He pulls back from the hug and cups your cheek, looking at you with love softened eyes. “I love you.”
Tears brim your eyes.
You speak in the clearest voice you've ever spoken in. Skin bright and flushed pink.
“I love you too.”

HELLO WILLOW 🥰🥰 hehe thank you girl!! i loved writing yours so i hope you like it too 🥺🥺
Tumblr media
willow’s first kiss with shoto todoroki
you snuggled up closer to shouto, nestling your head against his shoulder. you were completely fixated on the movie, but shoto could barely focus on what was going on - your touch and mere presence had his heart skipping beats.
you fidgeted against his shoulder, his muscular arm making it just slightly difficult for you to find a comfortable spot.
noticing your discomfort, shoto lifted his arm, securing you snugly against his chest.
you hummed appreciatively, looking up with a smile.
“thanks, sho,” you giggled, before turning back to the screen.
you had movie nights every friday - it was a tradition the both of you swore to keep up, even despite your respective busy schedules. hero work was hard and demanding, but shoto made it a priority to make sure he never missed out on friday movie nights with you.
it’d been only a month since you were together, but still, in all of that time, you’d still never had your first kiss. you didn’t think much of it; besides, intimacy isn’t the only factor in a relationship, and you knew that sho could be reserved with his feelings. whenever he felt comfortable, you supposed you’d have your first kiss then.
hm? shoto thought, feeling your body freeze against him. is something wrong?
he looked at you, your face frozen in place as you watched the movie scenes unfold in front of you.
the main couple had started to… become intimate, and though you were both adults - it was your first time watching something so intimate together.
you felt your heart beat wildly as blood rushed to your cheeks.
why am i getting embarrassed by this? they’re just kissing, you thought fervently. what’s sho thinking? oh my god…
seeing how your eyes were glued to the screen, he turned to see what was going on in the movie.
his breath hitched in his throat, realizing why you’d become so still so suddenly.
without even realizing, you’d ended up looking at him in your attempts to look anywhere else but the screen - and sho caught you, as he attempted to do the same.
his two-toned eyes held you in his gaze, searching for the answer to an unspoken question.
you found yourself lost in the depths of his eyes, distracted by the closeness of your faces and the dull electricity you could feel pulsing in between you.
shoto glanced down at your lips, noticing how they were parted just slightly, admiring the curve of your mouth. looking back into your eyes, he found the answer he was looking for.
his lips met yours in a gentle kiss as he brought his head down, the arm that was secured around you bringing you more tightly into his body.
lost in sweet bliss, you closed your eyes, enjoying the moment.
finally, you thought happily. the right moment.

Lair review for Klazomaniac #286157
@rarewubbox  I’m really sorry that it took me so long to get to this review!! my general writing muse decided to take a vacation the past few days and I had to hunt it down and wrangle it before i could get myself to write anything. i hope you like the review even if it took like a week for me to get to.
Tumblr media
aleele here was the first dragon i really noticed, but that’s mostly because the blues of the ghost flame apparel drove my eyes to her. i really liked the contrast between the low-saturation dark hues of her colors against the blues of the apparel. it really makes her visually POP. i also like how the candles are actually incorporated into the lore in the bio? a dragon with a weird entourage of ghostly floating candles is mysterious indeed. contender for cool mom of the year. also, if she’s your random progen, congrats on getting an XYY!! talk about good luck.
Tumblr media
another darkly colored fae yes, but the faes in ur lair are Good. this guy got my attention with all that purple. he looked like quite an interesting foresty fellow from the thumbnail, and then i got in there and read the little bit of lore in his bio and all of a sudden all the apparel made him Sinister. i love a good maniacal power hungry nature-fueled villain character. the small amount of lore in the bio just made me want to know more, like hear about some of his particular escapades. does he bother the rest of the clan or does he work in secret? inquiring minds would like to know 👀
Tumblr media
oh MAN i love the foreboding quote in this boy’s bio because it immediately gives him and his outfit the most EERIE atmosphere. the plague primal eyes especially add to that. he didn’t look all that plaguey from the thumbnail so when i read that quote i was thrown for a loop and then i scrolled up and saw his eyes and was like “oh. im Terrified.” i like how the nightsky silk scarf and the cornflower bee give this sort of delicate look, then you see the armor pieces and the furious claws and you gradually realize this is not a dragon you wanna be messing with. i sure as hell ain’t gonna be caught staring someone down whos got eyes like THAT. he comes into the room and im already gone
Tumblr media
in my previous lair reviews ive gone on a bit about that Fire Aesthetic which i like so much. this girl has DEFINITELY got a good hold on that. the accent matches SO well with the black iron plates it’s unbelievable. the fire and the lava are almost exactly the same color and it looks fucking fantastic. plus the steampunk pieces give that clunky heavy metal feeling that’s so good in the fire aesthetic. plus the mauve spines add a nice little dash of pinky-purple to match with the shadow eyes, like a tiny dash of sprinkles on top of the lava sundae. i wanna shake her hand but the superheated lava coming from the black iron plates would burn my hands and i would be okay with it.
Tumblr media
i think observer here might be my fave dragon in ur lair. the fest skin is, of course, gorgeous on him (i love the glowing mushrooms of the shadow aesthetic). but not only does it look nice, it makes sense to his title as scavenger?? like mushrooms are agents of decay and renewal that make use of what’s left behind, and scavengers look for things left behind to find and use again. the skin on top of the black birdskull pieces really give that effect. also can i just say the soil primary works wonderfully with that skin?? it really does look like the mushrooms on the skin are growing out of dirt. perfect combination of skin and colors.
Tumblr media
i may not have a lot of snappers in my lair but i can appreciate a good High Quality Bean when i see one. i really love how well the peacock goes with the cyan-y accent beads in the celebration sage set, the white looks really good next to the light parts of the outfit too. plus orange+brown next to peacock just looks good period? it’s a nice combo of colors for this dragon. i like how her title is celebrationist. i want her to organize a party for me bc something else me it would be one hell of a party.
Tumblr media
listen i had no idea that this specific part of the blue range could work SO well with the sweetheart lace set but i feel like i’ve seen the light..tiger+stripes may not be all that popular lately but i really like how it looks on razor, especially with stonewash+teal. these two blues play nice together, and then the sweetheart lace pieces kind of make me think of decorations on a cake? like the little roses look like icing roses. and then his eyes being that rich earth common brown just pop right out. a lot of people laud matching eyes on a dragon but tbfh sometimes non-matching eyes can add a real nice dimension in the color palette, especially on spirals since their eyes are so big. i wanna be friends w him.
Tumblr media
okay first: i like the idea of having a series of dragons named after each holiday?? it’s a cool idea for representing each flight as reps in your lair. next: a lot of people say crackle is a bad gene but i am under the impression that crackle can look DAMN AMAZING if you get the right gene/color combo. and here? the eldritch crackle on top of double fire looks just like lava. if there were a dragon that ever looked like a pure concentration of fire, it would be with this specific combo of genes and colors. it works SO damn well that the effect is perfected even with a small amount of apparel. i looked at this dragon and immediately went “she is Lava.” i love her. burn me up.
Tumblr media
(i know brightshine technically comes after flameforger but flameforger caught my attention first cough) light is another aesthetic i’m fond of and this is DEFINITELY a good-ass light dragon. i had no fucking idea murk irishim could match well with colors like ivory and gold but holy FUCKING moley that’s a nice combination. the highlights on the murk shimmer next to the brightness of the ivory crystal just makes the murk look like a really dark metal? like really tarnished bronze. and the intense gold of the sundrapes do a great job of calling to attention the veins of REALLY intense golden yellow that run through the ivory crystal. she’s so shiny. i wanna polish her but she probably doesnt need it..

WiP Week Day 2
Fandom: The Flash
Pairing: Barry Allen/ Iris West
Rating: All Audiences
Characters: Barry Allen, Iris West, Joe West, Wally West, Francine West, Cecile Horton
Summary: A year after Barry had inexplicably run off to join the Starling City Police Department, he is finally home for Christmas with the Wests. And this time he seems ready to actually tell them who he's dating for a change.
Problem is, Iris is pretty sure she doesn't want to hear it.
A/N: Part of a Barry-and-Oliver-come-out-to-their-families prequel to my Coldflash vs Olivarry polyam AU. Despite the name, Westallen plays an important part in the story because it's polyam and therefore complicated.
I really want to finish writing this monster dear Lord but there is so MUCH and Im not sure if this little snippet, so near and dear to my heart, will make the cut.
A Christmas Revelation
On the face of it, this is the best Christmas they've had in years. Certainly since they had found out Wally existed six years ago. Actually, even before that, because the whole reason Iris had been in Keystone to run into her mother and Wally was because she and Barry had been spending the whole summer avoiding each other. On account of Barry having ruined everything the Christmas before, by declaring himself in love with her.
Obviously he was well over that now. There had been...a lot...that had happened afterward between them, and even more that had not. But now, seven years on, everything was back to normal.
Iris watched her so-called best friend sprawled on the floor, teaching her teenage brother the secrets of Jenga, while the rest of the family did actual work, like decorating the Christmas tree. This used to be hers and Barry's favourite Christmas ritual, after exchanging their gifts for each other on Christmas eve rather than Christmas day. But he hadn't been around last year, having inexplicably abandoned them all and run off to a job in Starling City of all places. And the year before that...
Iris viciously pokes the Christmas ornament from her eighth grade handcrafts project onto the tree. Why did Dad keep hoarding all this stuff? It's not like any of them actually gave a damn.
"Hey! Careful!" says Joe appearing at her elbow. "That's my favourite!" His hands are full of eggnog and his Santa hat lopsided.
"They're all your favourite, Dad," says Iris rolling her eyes.
"Damn right," says Joe, passing a glass to Cecile. "It took years to carefully collect that much junk I couldn't bear to part with."
"Junk is right," says Cecile sharing an exasperated look with Iris. "I don't know where on earth you even stored your LP collection before Barry moved out."
"Oh yeah, that's right," Barry looks up from his Jenga tower with a faux-injured expression. "I forgot I'm homeless now. I've been edged out by Joe's jazz memorabilia. I see how it is."
"And here you were worried about Wally," says Iris, serenely tying a bauble.
She revels in the slightly awkward pause that follows, even though she knows she's going to pay for it later. She can feel her Dad's "what-is-going-on-with-you" glare burning her ear.
"Nope, it's true. I love you kids, but Duke Ellington's never given me the grief you have, so he gets to stay with me and the rest of you can move your asses out." Joe stretches out on his arm chair with his eggnog and a sigh of satisfaction.
"And where does that leave me?" Cecile perches on the arm of Joe's chair to look saucily down at him.
"I'll have to ask Duke about that," deadpans Joe. The room cracks up as Cecile gasps in indignation and swats him.
"What are we laughing at now?"
Francine has finally come down to join them. She had been ill with a migraine all day, the only pall over an otherwise perfectly amiable family gathering. Her face still looks drawn and she's wearing her silk bed scarf over her hair.
"How are you feeling, Francine?" Cecile's slight shift from genuine warmth to a touch too polished concern is hardly noticeable, but Iris sees it in the minute way she straightens her back and evens her features.
"Oh, it was just a headache, Cecile, thanks for asking," her mother replies in the same cordial "company voice". Iris stares intently at the tree as the two exchange pleasantries. She quite likes Cecile and...doesn't hate Mom anymore but it's still new and weird, the two of them in the same house she grew up in and her Mom walked out of. They probably feel the same.
"So Joanie isn't coming," says Wally, oblivious to Cecile's slight flinch, "and Aunt Edna got snowed in, so is this everyone that's here for dinner?"
"Do you ever not think about your stomach?" Iris teases, throwing a bunch of tinsel at her little brother's head.
He kicks it defensively towards a laughing Barry. "I'm a growing boy!"
"You can stop any day now," says Iris, pouting. "You were so cute and cuddly when I met you! And now you look like a pool noodle with ridiculous ears."
"And you were a lot nicer when I met you," complains Wally. "But I still have to put up with these insults and serious damage to my adolescent self-esteem!"
"She's just bitter, Wall," says Barry sagely. "She used to be the tallest kid in class in elementary school and lorded it over everyone. And then I got taller than her when we were twelve and she couldn't win playing keep-away anymore. Been a bitter Oompa Loompa ever since."
"I am not an Oompa Loompa," cries Iris, throwing more tinsel at the idiots now snickering and fistbumping on the floor. "You two are just...freakish. Abnormally tall. And slow and lumbering. Like the giant tree people in Lord of the Rings."
"Ents," Barry and Wally chorus.
"Also nerds," says Iris agreeably.
Cecile, Joe and Francine are laughing at them and Iris feels a smile pulling at her own mouth until she realizes that none of them know...anything. And that this probably looks to them like an amusing picture of sibling rivalry. With Barry. Iris fights down a stab of nausea and looks away lest she catch his eye.
"To answer your question, we're waiting on two more people," says Joe.
"Chyre's coming, right?" says Barry, with vague interest. "Haven't seen Frank in a year. How is he?"
Well, he'd know if he had actually gone anywhere and looked anyone up during the two weeks in fall that he had spent holed up in her Dad's house, using up nearly all his vacation days and not even telling her he had come home. Iris glares at the last bronze bell in the box. It's just like Barry - a useless tool.
"Dad invited Officer Pretty Boy as well," she interjects brightly as Joe brings Barry upto speed on the CCPD goings-on.
Her father rolls his eyes and Barry's eyebrows rise. "Officer Pretty Boy?"
"Really, Iris?"
"Well, you called him that, Dad!"
"I may have been a bit unfair," admits Joe. "He's just young and eager to prove himself."
"And he can't help being pretty," she nods, earning a stern pointed finger from Joe.
"Who are we talking about?" asks Barry, lost.
"Eddie Thawne. New transfer from Keystone. Turns out Francine knows him."
"Nice kid," her Mom volunteers. "Son of a very unpopular mayor, but he's nothing like. Took one of my first aid courses at the hospital and volunteered at the youth center. I asked Joe if we could have him for Christmas."
"I'd rather have the goose," Wally moans into the floor, now lying dramatically spread-eagled on his stomach. "I'm going to die of hunger before these people ever get here."
"If you did, I'm sure you'll rescurrect in time for dessert," retorts Iris.
Wally sticks his tongue out at her. Then makes a face that his embarrassing seventeen-year-old self probably thinks is sly. "Hey, Dad? Are any of these guys single?"
"Well, Chyre's been divorced for fifteen years and he isn't seeing anyone," says Joe idly. "I can ask, if you swing that way, Wally."
Everyone bursts into laughter at the boy's spluttering discomfiture. Iris turns to exchange grins with Barry in triumph and notices that he isnt laughing. He just looks...squirrelly. Again.
"There's nothing wrong with liking boys, Joe," admonishes Cecile and Barry's shoulders relax incrementally.
"I never said there was. Wally's the one who wanted to know."
"For Iris!" the boy pouts, his ears still glowing red. "Cause life is bad enough as a bitter Oompa Loompa without spending it alone."
"Thank you for your concern," says Iris acidly. "But I can find my own boyfriends."
Barry coughs something into his eggnog that sounds a lot like "Brad."
She smiles at him, sweet as a knife. "Did you have something to say, Barr?"
"Nope." Wide-eyed and innocent.
"I liked your last boy actually," says Francine, arranging herself on the sofa with a plate of cookies. "Will something. He seemed decent."
"Dry white toast," snorts Wally and Barry smirks at the floor.
"He was not!" He totally was. "Will was perfectly nice. You liked him, didnt you, Barry?"
"He was a nice guy," he shrugs and Iris feels again that stab of irritation. "Just..."
"Just what?"
He finally looks at her, face unreadable. "Just didnt seem like your type, that's all."
Oh he thinks so, does he. "And what is my type, Bartholomew?"
Barry looks clearly discomfited and the others are looking at her in slight surprise. Iris realizes she is coming across rather confrontational and forces herself to relax.
"Bitter Oompa Loompas," warbles Wally through a mouthful of cookie.
Iris looks incredulously at him amid everyone's laughter. "It's like being related to a parrot."

Dew Drops in March ❈ Chapter 3
Im really happy that everyone is enjoying this. With all the good feedback of the previous chapter on here and Ao3 Ive decided I will write a wedding scene once I complete this fiction. I will probably knock out a few chapters of my other fan-fiction of FFXV (Which is here!) before doing that. I actually have full head canons and story plots for children I can see these lovelies having. I have no idea if I will write a fiction about them but their names are; Evangeline, Barnaby and Scarlet. Two look similar to Chise; having human like forms then one resembling more like Elias. Shoot me a ask if you’re interested in learning more. Anyway! Enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 1 ❈
Chapter 2 ❈
Cooking and baking became a calming past time in this screwball of a world. It was a easy science that Chise understood, balancing her ingredients like she would with making medicine but in most cases this ended up tasting a lot better. Only a pinch of cocoa powder here, a sprinkle of salt there. Maybe even some cherry extract to add flavor. When she’d lived on her own in America she’d once had a studio apartment for a brief time -- it was extremely cramp especially when Ruth manifested into any form. It was a incredibly depressing time for both parties. Though in those small, few months she learned quickly how to fend for her self; preparing most of her meals at work. The office kitchen wasn’t always stocked with the most fresh food or coffee.
Guess it was a trait that just stuck.
There sat a mixing bowl on the long counter’s of Silky’s kitchen. Everything was arranged nicely and stored perfectly. It really looked like a kitchen you’d see in those magazines at the doctor’s office or in department stores. The intelligent house sprite would never allow clutter or mess in her most favorite room of the house. If Elias was even caught misplacing something she’d surely tan his hide for it. Whom was master of whom? Chise smirked thinking about it as she blended a group of ingredients in the clear cylinder bowl, folding it with a spatula. All coming together as one, the scent of chocolate in the air.
Chise drew her finger over the edge of the bowl, scooping a dollop of the dark, confection batter that she licked clean off. It was rich, a twinge of mild fruitiness there too. The sweet, chocolaty taste riveting her tongue. These were probably going to be the best brownies she’d made in a long time. Simon told her to add cherry extract for a bold flavor and she surely did not regret that decisions. The thick batter found it’s way into a oiled pan that was ancient looking, how long has Silky had this? The House Sprite was a mysterious being indeed.
One of the kitchen windows was opened ajared, it was just enough to let in a chilling breeze. It hugged the back of Chise’s neck; making her reddish neck hair stand on end. Even with the glowing flame of the oven and her toil of blending the ingredients did it freeze her from top to bottom. She quickly fed the tray of uncooked brownie batter into the oven’s mouth, closing it quick. Her face was now warm but the rest frigid. Quickly the red-headed woman trotted to the open window, latching it close. The frost growing like mandalas of the flatness of the clear glass, Chise drew a heart in the fog.
Snow had fell that night before and now the hills were masked in a blanket of fluffy, powdery snow that crumbled through your hands like cold grains of rice. It was the perfect weather for building a snow man, Chise thought. Maybe Ruth might enjoy that later? Her reflection looking back at her as she gazed at the ever green pines and pillowing winter clouds above them. At least the sun was out, dismal but awake and exulting joyful rays of endearing warmth.
Looking at the viridian pine trees that stood tall, like a wall into the forest beyond their hillside home; Chise thought about the Yule time and how the house smelled of cinnamon and cedar. Her green eyes closed, breathing in the winter air that had escaped in side. This Yule was very refreshing, it brought back old memories as well building new. Chise’s face started to grow a roseate shade from ear to ear. Thinking about a certain moment during the twelve day period, her fingers reached to her parted lips. It was the first time she’d kissed Elias -- directly.
It seemed like a regular day aside the the wicked cold. They’d both gone to collect some items from in town. There wasn’t abundance growing in the garden aside a few seasonal vegetables and fruit but they were no where close to harvest. The couple had their reserves but there was plenty delights stored in town as well giving them a reason to get out of the house and do a smige of socializing. Elias held Chise’s hand the whole walk home. The gentle grasp was enough to keep her gloved hands more than warm enough.
In the crook of Elias’ free arm sat some supplies and Chise held a burlap bag full of books and wrapping supplies along with a few articles of clothing; gifts for friends back in America and Japan. She wanted to send them right away so they would arrive in time for Christmas. The idea of gift giving was very new to Elias,Chise and Angie was the only ones he’d given stuff too but listening to Chise speak about her friends and what she was planning to give was amusing to the old mage. His cloaked face fixated on her for a good chunk of the walk home.
Their home -- a wonder of faint, flickering lemon colored lights from the several windows. Years ago this had been Elias’ home, hers as well but now it felt like she had imprinted on it. Like as if it was a living thing; It’s soul and walls grasped her presence and welcomed it any time she proceeded through it’s doors. There was no better place ever than here and she realized that soon after returning. The overhead porch light like a beacon, Chise gave Elias a tug forwards.
The door opened with a crack, frost breaking off it’s frame.
“Silky!” Chise alerted the fae. “We’re home!”
She was likely upstairs, her foot steps creaked above them. Elias lifted his cloak.
“She must be busy.” Elias said, having dropped his supplies off on the side table, closing the door behind them. He examined the lot but then realized a piece had been missing. Maybe it dropped the way here or when they were pushing to escape the cold? Elias had already shed his winter cloak, opened the door to the outside. He pulled at his over jacket and spotted the missing item -- a collection of sage for a cleansing spell he had planned for the new family living to the south.
“Elias? What’s wrong?” Chise stood in the door way with a printed shawl around her shoulders.
“I dropped this.” He responded after rapidly nabbing the collection of herb, it’s scent of cedar breaking into the air around them. The mix of saffron light from the porch lantern and carpeted snow was a sight for Chise, Elias looked very handsome in this evening. The shadows of his face gave a certain intensity aside the puffs of white smoke he breathed. In the States she’d dated a boy or two -- even found the company of other woman nice too. None of them seemed the same to the depth she felt for him. His crimson eyes traced her blocking figure in the doorway.
A long time ago when he’d found the time to visit her, she was some what involved with another gentlemen and Elias found that out. She’d never seen him act so strangely, like a piece of what they were had broken off. Their letters to each other became non existent-- well from Elias at least, he never replied more than once every two months. Chise truly believed he he was mourning the lose of what their connection was as Student and Pupil as well the thought of her loving him.
But this was a different chapter for them though. They had no idea what they were to each now -- Chise really liked that for some reason.
“Chise? Are you going to let me in?” She’d zoned out. He was clearly trying his best to not shiver.
“S-Sorry!” Like a door she turned to let him in. His broad body coming in and closing the door behind them. The sage found it’s home next to the other purchased herbs. It smelled glorious in the hall now. Chise still stood beside Elias, turning to her with a questioning eye. Her ungloved hands twiddling together, unknowingly asking something of him.
“What’s wrong?” His voice intrigued. She was looking at him with love struck.
Chise’s emerald eyes took evasive action, spotting the Mistletoe above them.
“The mistletoe.” Mumbling it, Elias asked her again. “The Mistletoe!”
Both gazed up at the collection of lush green leaves and carmine berries twisted with lace above their front door way. A tradition that was required every year in the twelve days of Yule. It was a blessing to the Winter Goddess whom would favor any house decorated by it. Being that herself and her companions have encountered such a being, to be in her graces was a necessity. Along with her and Elias would kiss underneath it as well. They did it in the many years as student and master? Why not now.
“Ah, yes.” Elias turned back to Chise, leaning down to her. “Do you want to kiss me?”
He said it so nonchalantly, breaking away from him and living with people her generation; it really showed how much he didn’t know of human nature or expression. Chise couldn’t help to break into a blush when he said that, she wanted to give him a knock on the head but instead just nodded. The mage realizing she was reddening, his wide palm cupping the side of her face.
“Like we do every year.” Chise tried not to stutter, their bodies close.
“Do you want me to crouch down this time?-- Or.. “ His voice broke, her hands clutching his coat.
“Or?” One of her thin eyebrows raising. Elias’ view looked to be some where else than her. What was he getting at?
“Might we try something different?”
“Different?”
“Yes. I was thinking that I might try this year to kiss you like a normal man would?” Elias’ thumb grazing over her febrile cheek. For some reason she was feeling very nervous but expecting the rest of what he might say “But I have been hesitant to ask you.”
“What do you mean?” Chise pulled at his question, the mage’s eyes glued to her dreamy face.
“By using my glamour. It resembles the human body like yours. It may not be the real thing but I was hoping to know what it felt like to kiss you with it. If you consent to it.” It was something Chise already knew he was getting at but how could she deny him with a face like that longing at her so. His voice said the words crystal clear, it was a very perplex situation.
Chise nodded, a otherworldly blackness absorbing Elias, shifting his form into that of a man with silvery blond hair and turquoise eyes. She knew it was him, underneath this shell and still smelled like him, like patchouli and fresh-cut flowers. Would it really feel the same kissing him like this? Now at least she could read his expressions and tell some what better what he was thinking -- and right now it seemed more like a piqued experiment than a kiss to him. Chise inhaled a hitch of breath.
Their bodies got closer, she could wrap her hands around his biceps a bit easier than before. She’d kissed people before but a frightened nervousness boiled in her gut. Chise did her best to meet Elias in the middle; their lips touching at last. Of course his lips were soft, he never wore this form out other than to be around humans, yet he lingered a certain taste. That of black tea, faint hint of dark chocolate and his own essence. Her hands naturally looped around his neck, rolling their lips gently against each other.
Whatever they had left behind, they could never go back to the way they were. Their kiss only made sense. Like two flames that had slowly been inching towards each other; igniting into a bigger and more beautiful blaze. It was only that of a few seconds in that Chise felt her back held against the hardness of the door behind her, Elias’ body weighing against her. They were both inflamed in the moment with each other, their lips longing to be together deeper. Elias’ racing for more, both of his hands had her cheeks cup; she wouldn’t be able to escape even if she wanted to.
Though as time passed, their passion grew. It became more lip pulling, graze of the tongue and heated breaths. It was only when Chise made a lascivious sob that Elias pulled away quicker than a whip. His face nonplus, staring at Chise just as red as her. Truthfully it look like someone had slapped him, not the face she expected after inducting into such a ardent kiss as that. Chise breathed for the air she had missed.
There was a long awkward pause, Elias dumbstruck. His form shifted back into the original mold.
“I--..” He began, stopping. His sleight beggy bracing herself against the door.
‘Chise? You okay?’ Ruth questioned her in their mind. She couldn’t think at all, all she could focus was the towering mage just a few feet infront of her.
‘Yeah.. Im fine..’ She was, this was just entirely new perspective of Elias.
“My apologies if I became a bit brash!.” Elias suddenly sputtered out, remembering. He rushed to console Chise, petting her like a cat. “I suddenly started to feel.. something new--! And it wanted you. Closer. My heart was beating like a drum, Chise!”
She understood the emotion he was feeling and tried not to overthink about it, Chise lifted her hand over his arm. Giving the fretting mage a soothing smile.
“It’s okay. I felt it too.”
“What was that feeling? Never once have a felt it!”
Would it be smart to lie? He would eventually find out, he always find out. Maybe if she worded it right? They found their way into the heat of the living room, joining each other on the couch. A thick woven woolybug blanket like a cocoon, hugging their sides. Chise didn’t realize how cold she was until after Elias had let go of her.
“That was just a different form of love.” Her eyes flickering a reflection of the dance of the fire ahead of them, salamanders resting between the burning logs.
“There is different forms?” Elias always questioned with the innocence of a child, Chise felt his jaw move above her; she was practically sitting in his lap.
“Yeah. There is types like a mother to her child. A brother to a sister, a friend to another and a one shared between lovers. Love is complex yet beautiful.”
This made Elias think for awhile, a comfortable silence lingering while the fire crackled and the sound of his breathing. The salamanders would hum at each other but usually go back to resting in their warm hearth.
“And.. What did it feel to you? With me.” The mage’s words dripped out slowly like he was afraid to ask them. The hold he had of Chise becoming tighter.
“I-..” She didn’t want to force things out. She wasn’t ready to answer this question. “I felt something very good.. I can’t put my finger on it but..-”
A small hand clasped the larger’s under their blanket’s safety. They didn’t entwine but just laid together, just making sure that the acknowledged touch was there.
“It was good, like something woke up. I will admit. I see you a bit different now.” The words shook Elias, He leaned snout by Chise’s shoulder to get a good look at her face.
“Is that a bad thing? Do you think of me poorly?” He questioned so sincerely, yet the tone of his voice still echoed the nervousness from earlier. Chise reverberated a calm chuckle.
“No. Like I’m no longer looking at the Elias I knew as a child. Im seeing you through a different lenses. It’s like Im relearning all of you and what you mean to me.”
This made Elias go silent again, the cogs working through that large bonehead of his. It took Chise by surprise when he dropped his chin on her shoulder. Like as if he was sulking and she was his oversize human teddy-bear. Even ten years later this old man acted like a child in the oddest of ways, Chise pet the length of his cold muzzle, the now tepid air making her a bit hot for this chunky blanket with Elias inside of it.
“I feel..similar.” He mumbled into her collar bone.”You are very important to me, Chise. I have lived hundred of years but while you were gone it felt like time stopped, I became an abyss and it didn’t go away until you came home.”
A few more followed but she couldn’t understand him without a prompt ‘Huh?’ Elias gave her another squeeze, hesitant to ask the words especially after what happened less than 15 minutes ago.
“Will you sleep with me in my bed together? I’m feeling very strange and it’s making me feel .. unbalanced, conflicted. I would appreciate if I had you near me for the rest of the evening.” Chise tried not to laugh, only sealing her lips with enthusiastic smile. She gave his hand a pat and nodded.
With a unearthly muster of strength and swoop, Chise found herself in the Magus's arms. Holding her like a bride, the blanket laid around his shoulders. It was like a band-aid had been ripped off her whole body as well enduring the shock of being lifted so quickly. Chise shot Elias’ a painful leer.
“Just no funny business!” She exclaimed, kicking her legs, almost losing a slipper.
“Funny Business?” He parroted obliviously, no idea what she was even talking about.
“Never mind! We still have to put our stuff away so put me down!” Even as Chise complained, Elias found a chance to give her a nuzzle at the top point of her cardinal red hair, he breathed a content sigh as he relished in his most favorite person’s presence. Even if she demanded to be let go..
The timer broke Chise from her book about medicinal herbs found in India. It was a key piece of literature to helping her complete a remedy she’d been wanting to make for on of the townsfolk. It range with the utmost annoyance but at least the kitchen and lower half of the house smelled like fresh baked brownies. It drew Silky in like a predator to prey, initially peeking her head in to see Chise’s figure.
With decorative floral oven mitts, a piping hot tray of chocolate delights emerged. Chise could already taste the flavor in her mouth. Silky inched closer to see what she had baked, it certainly look good to her for a odd reason. Perhaps it was made with cream? Even Ruth manifested from the shadows to watch the even unfold, his ghostly tail wagging behind him.
“Silky could you start some hot water as I get these ready for afternoon tea? Im sure Elias would appreciate something fruity to go along with these.” She said setting the hot tray on the stove. Powder sugar would go perfect on these once they had cooled down. "I'll promise to leave you a cup of cream on the mantle~"
The hermit mage was locked in his study most of the morning, working on who knows what. The church had asked him for a few favors earlier that week but he still couldn’t be working on them? He’d been acting very odd the last two weeks since he’d returned from London. Watching her, sometimes avoiding, asking random irrelevant questions at the oddest of times.
Which he was preparing, Elias was looking for the perfect time to ask Chise to marry him. Today he’d been gifted with inspiration to write something heart felt to her but understanding the few emotions that he didn’t quite know still wracked his brain. Notes of mindless scribbles laid out before him on piece of blanched paper, some like hymn and others like poems. Maybe he should ask her bluntly, getting answers out of her was always easiest when he did that. How could he describe the right words to express to her? He’d never said ‘I love you’ but clearly had shown it. Was that valid enough?
The door opened with a creak, It was Silky and whom followed was Chise with a large silver platter in hand.
“Is it that time already?” Elias said looking at the time on his watch. Before Chise got too close he cleaned the desk of papers, shoving them all into a filing cabinet by his ankles. Good thing too, she would been able to see everything where she had placed the platter at. What sat upon it’s silver throne was a grey tea pot decorated with pink flowers and matching cups as well a small pitcher of thick cream and a plate of lemons. Beside them was the platter of Chise’s brownies dusted with powder sugar and lavender petals. The aroma of the summer lemon and raspberry tea gave a festive ambiance to the study.
“What refreshing change of pace for this time of year. I wonder what you had been up to earlier.” Elias complimented their work, enjoying the scent as Silky poured both cups. Chise has found a seat from across his desk.
This had been the room Elias taught most of their lesson at, the amount of frustration and toil she spent between these four walls. But it was Elias’ teaching that helped he obtain such a good job when she lived in the states, thank goodness for his stubbornness, she admired him from across the way as he took his saucer and tea cup.
“I thought we could brighten it up.” Accepting her own cup as Silky offered it, “Ive been a bit bored with the robust teas lately.”
They idled over chatter for some time, fading in and out of conversations. It was when the tea started to run dry and half of the platter had been emptied .. primarily due to Ruth, had Elias stopped the conversation. His glowing rose colored eyes viewing Chise as she took a bite of her brownie. Powder sugar dusting the pinkness of her lips. She might have thought it ungraceful but Elias found it endearing.
“Chise, Ive been meaning to ask you something lately. It's been on my mind the last few weeks.” His words left without thinking, Chise chewed, watching him with a wondering eye. He’d been storing the ring in one of the compacts of the radiant desk he found himself working at every day. Chise never pried in the drawers, it was a secluded spot that was just his, when he’d been acting like he’d been pulling put a pen to note something down Chise said, he slipped the velvet box into his coat pocket.
“Efh-hmh?” She mumbled with her mouthful. There was still a shred of child someone where in her.
“Ive been over thinking about it and it would ..--” He stopped, relaying what he was saying. Chise had swallowed by now but Elias rising from his seat made it hard to go down, he was standing in front of her less than a moment later. The sleigh beggy’s body began to shake, she knew what was coming and had to hold her weak heart in from bursting out of her chest.
“It would be the most blessed honor if you could..” A doubt started to shake his heart and rib cage. How he got to crouching beside Chise in her chair was even a mystery as well he’d taken her hands too. It was having extremely fast, with each second he remained dumbstruck infront of her; Chise’s expression got more red and frantic. She was stuttering in her chair beside him.
“If you could--” He wasn’t able to say it nor did Chise seem like she was ready. It wasn’t the right time or place. It was too cramped. “If you could teach me how to bake like you? Your delights are always superb.”
“What?” Her voice fell flat, hands clasps around Elias’ like wrenches. “You.. want to learn how to.. bake?”
Was he serious? Her heart had fled away as she stared flummox at the gentlemen before her sitting figure.
“Umm! Yes--.. I do, so then I can bake you something nice one of these mornings.” He played off the potential proposal the best he could. “Like plum and apricot scones or the carrot cake during the Spring months that you like.”
“I mean if Silky allows you to work in her kitchen I do not see why not? Would you like to try tonight? Im sure Ruth would like some pecan pie or pumpkin pie.” The second Chise mentioned it the large black dog who had been lying on the floor behind her chair perked up his low hanging ears, his tail batting the floor like hummingbird wings.
“Pie? I like pie.” Ruth said with the most eagerness in his deep voice, the rose color of his eyes glimmering up at his beloved soul sibling. This both concluded a laugh from Elias and Chise, their hands still clutched together.
“See? We have your first taste tester.” Chise indulged in gentle smile to Elias, he looked a little flustered but so was she. In their silence they under stood it wasn’t time but in the mean time Chise could kiss the knuckles of Elias’ gloved finger tips. He felt a special warmth under the touch of her hued lips, parting from the silk fabric. Even if they had both tripped there a few moments ago, the right time would come soon. It would happen naturally like anything good.
“You’ll need to take these off and put a apron on, you know? Unless you want to be covered in flour and batter.” Her voice meekish, Elias nodded in agreement.
“That is fine with me, I have one of the best teachers!” Elias found him to his feet, helping Chise to hers. With cups assembled, making sharp porcelain noises and plates scattered with crumbs and sugar adjourned, they carried out the wide platter away. Chise sharing the last brownie with Ruth who gobbled it up. That pup sure did love his sweets, was chocolate even healthy for fae?
“Prehaps we can even make a pot pie for dinner?” Elias mentioned, that was one of his favorite dishes. Chise liked the idea of that, they had a abundance of vegetables that could go to good use.
“Maybe.~” Together, both mages exiting the dim lit study with Ruth in suite. They would start by baking something easy, something that might actually taste good if it was a little burnt.

Then, you light the white one and reflect onhow you can be your happiest every day, and blow out the flame holding hope inyour heart!” you went on to describe the simple ritual to him, watching ashe stared at you with eyes as big as dinner plates. To your surprise, heactually wanted to hear a little more about why you do this, and what otherthings there were to do. He wanted to join you in this one as well! He wantedto think of all the happy times he can have with you for this next year!
ZEN:
He came home and the house did notsmell like it normally did and he was concerned. He called out to you, hopingthat the smell was something you were doing and doing it safely. He found you standing on a chair in the center of the room, hoping some sort of… stick? Maybe? “MC! What are you doing? You could’vefallen!” he swooped you off of the chair, placing you on your feet gentlybut then suddenly started to cough over the smoke in his face- you quicklymoved it to the side. “Ah, sorry Hyun! I just wanted to banish all of theold energy from our house,” you tried to explain as you continued tosmudge the area around yourself. The look on his face said it all- he had noidea what you were talking about. You asked him to walk with you as youfinished smudging the rest of the house, explaining it was a cleansing ritual-with the herbs sage, mugwort, bay leaf, and lavender tired together with yard, you could hopefully dispel any old or bad energy, leaving the house fresh andnew! He understood after a while, but would never attempt to do it on hisown… if it made you feel better, he would absolutely let you do it.
JAEHEE:
“..MC… can I ask why you’relying in the middle of the floor?” she asked, closing the door behind her.You could often be found throwing yourself across the furniture and laying onthe ground, she didn’t think too much of it until she saw your hands movingaround, then she realized you were meditating and immediately felt bad- shedidn’t interrupt, did she? She sat a few feet away from your head, waitinguntil you were finished to actually talk to you. When you sat up, you greetedher and told her not to worry, you hadn’t even noticed her come in. She seemedto be trying to peek at what was in your hand, so you opened it to reveal asmall opal laying in your palm. You explained that the stone was used as apower stone to help become a conduit of the unconscious mind. When you breathedeeply and allow any and all images, thoughts, sounds, or sensations pass by,you’ll be able to release them from your mind. You even took a handful ofassorted power stones and explained each one to her- you watched her eyes asyou noticed her make mental notes about it all so she could research it in moredepth later. She really wouldn’t be against joining you for one of thesemeditations, the poor woman needs this
JUMIN:
“MC, I don’t understand why youwould willingly participate in doing this to yourself. All you’re going to dois scare yourself to the point you will lose sleep, or you will injure yourselfwith worry,” he said as you scrolled through multitudes of rituals youlooked up online, trying to find one you wanted to try out. “Jumin, sweetheart, it’s Halloween. The point is to try and scare yourself,” youtold him, stopping on one you wanted, turning to find him crossing his arms, shaking his head, and turning to leave the room- he muttered a soft “It’sa horrible idea” under his breath as he left the room. At midnight thatnight, you wrote your name on this piece of paper, pricking your finger to puta small drop of blood onto the paper- you light the candle and turn the rest ofthe lights off before knocking on the wooden door 22 times, all before 12:01am.You open the door, blow out the candle, then shut the door again before rushingto relight the candle and leaving the room, keeping the candle lit. You were tothink about your wish and keep close watch of the flame until 3:33am- as wellas watching for drops in temperature and faint whispers- this would mean theMidnight Man was close and you had to be very careful. You had spent so muchtime walking around, you began to get bored, but were too afraid to stop. Aftera while, you heard faint whispers behind you, and you immediately started towalk faster, being aware of the flame in front of you. You started to panic- ohno. This is real, isn’t it. Why didn’t you listen to Jumin? Why did you need totry and freak yourself out? Turning a corner, your flame went out and you werefrozen in place, your heart immediately beating in your ears. Suddenly, youhear Jumin whisper, “Well, did you get the scare you were looking for,MC?” You dropped the candle to the floor, immediately swinging your armsin front of you until you make contact with his chest, which he returned with asoft “oof” and a soft chuckle before pulling you close to hold you.
SAEYOUNG:
“Legend says that during thenight, a rift will open between the land of the living and the domain of thespirits,” he said in his best story telling voice- he was dressed in ablack, intimidating robe, trying to scare you the night before Halloween. Hehad a flashlight on under his chin and turned off the power to the whole house-Saeran was pissed. Yet, he stayed for Saeyoung’s story, which he continuedafter his dramatic pause. “Communication can lead to wishes being grantedand good fortune- for the living! The other side demands horrific payment fortheir services, ooooooo~” he wiggled his fingers to emphasize the spooky. You stared at him with an extremely unamused look on your face- you couldn’ttake him serious- even when he asked you to play the game with him. Between 2amand 5am on Halloween, the two of you closed yourselves in a small room, staringat a mirror that you couldn’t even clearly see in the dark.“Okay MC, whenthe rift opens, you should feel the room go cold, that’s when you put your handon the mirror and whisper, ‘I accept’. Then, we’ll see a figure in the mirror-a figure way too frightening to describe. Then you must answer all five oftheir deeply personal questions, you must answer honestly- each one you lieabout, they will take one of your five senses. Each one you get correct, youcan place a death curse on anyone you decide.” You tried to look at himlike he was an idiot but being in the dark made that hard. Suddenly, there wasa soft breeze behind your ear, you raised your elbow a little and jammed itinto his stomach hard enough to get an 'oomph’ from him. You knew he was tryingto just scare you. He chuckled a little, pulling your back closer to his chest,he started to nuzzle against your shoulder until the both of you felt the roomget extremely cold in a flash- the both of you turned stiff for a moment beforeyour adrenaline kicked in and the both of you started to push the other out ofthe way to escape the room. Saeran had to hold back a laugh from his place behind the mirror, where he had a portable air conditioner running silently.
JIHYUN:
Always willing to see differentparts of you and anything you like or believe in! So on Samhain, you wanted tohelp him with his past in any way you know how- Mandalas! You told him howmandalas are powerful because they reflect balance and wholeness- drawing oneup helps to express yourself and encourage emotional balance as well as helpingto heal yourself! He watched you practice a few, and had him join in. Drawingthe patterns in whatever colour he wanted, with no pressure to make it perfectwas calming. He turned to you, to thank you for showing him this activity, whenhe saw your page and immediately froze. He wanted to laugh but he was also kindof concerned. Your mandala was more.. in the shape of a common demon mask, andhe… he wasn’t sure what that meant- or if he should ask you about it… Hestill hung it on the fridge regardless, but it scares people when they walk by andyou act innocent, which he finds hilarious.
SAERAN:
“MC, this is stupid, I’m notdoing this,” he stated with a huff, his arms crossed against his chest andyou tried to drag him outside at around 11:30 pm, October 30th. You found thisritualistic game online and you wanted to see if it would truly work! I mean,if you can deal with him, you could probably deal with some sorta demons thatcome out of this. You search for bare patch of ground, waiting until 11:59pm- aminute before Halloween. He watched as you drew a circle in the dirt largeenough to hold your phone- then you plopped yourself down to the ground. With asigh, he sat next to you and stared at the phone for what seemed like too long. You kept staring, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 11 minutes, the time kept increasingand the whole time he kept trying to break your gaze from the phone, but youwere dedicated to this thing and he gave up. After 15 minutes, your phone litup from a call from a private number- Saeran went to answer once he realizedyou weren’t going to- you had to shoo him away quickly. “You can’tanswer!!!! You can’t, this is supposed to happen! Now, we wait for a text, andmake sure not to take the phone from the circle. It’s supposed to be anothernumber that we can call, then we tell this man our address, and he’ll tell usthat we’ll get a package at precisely 11:59 on November 1st!” you staredat the phone explaining it all, as Saeran just looked at you with an eyebrowraised- looking up across the yard, he saw his brother hiding around the cornerof the house, raising a finger to his lips to keep him quiet. Now he knew thiswas a prank and nothing that can truly hurt you- good. He would playalong.“What’s in this package, MC?” he asked, curious as to just whatkind of story his brother planted into your head. “You find a smalltransistor radio with batteries! You can put in the batteries but youabsolutely can’t turn on the radio until 12:15am, then go to the AM channel111.1 and listen- it says the guy from tonight will be muttering and will giveus a headache but we can’t stop listening. At 12:25 am on the dot, the messagewill stop and soft music will play- and until then, so long as you keep theradio on you and turned on, you’ll experience good luck!” you kept staringat the phone, speaking quickly, trying to get the story out before that textcame in. Saeran had to hide his growing laughter, “Okay okay, so wait. This dumb ritual will give you good luck? That’s what this is about?”“Yeah, but apparently, when the radio’s batteries die, everythingdrastically changes. Like, you’ll feel someone tracking your every move, see afigure in the shadows, hear a sound you can’t place, up until it makes itselfknown and comes to claim its payment!” your voice turned high pitched nearthe end of your explanation, as you watched your phone light up from theexpected text. He sat through the rest of your ritual, watching you one momentand turning to watch his brother with a voice box and his cell phone across theway. He’d allow this to happen, only this time, because you did bring this uponyourself.
VANDERWOOD:
“And you want to do…. what, now?” he asked, staring at you in disbelief. You told him about this…insane idea you had to play this creepy game to see if it was real. Why you hadthis fascination with trying to do these scary things, he would never know. Infact, he started to think you hung out with Saeyoung too often- he’s rubbingoff on you. You told him about this ritual you found called the “The ThreeKings”, and you were dying to see if it was the real thing- after all, thewarning did say “do not attempt on your own”- so it had to be scary, right? You made him help you set up- three chairs, two mirrors, and a candleset in a specific position according to the chart online. You leave the roomuntouched from midnight to 3:30am, then you take your place at the King’sthrone, candle lit, as you stare straight in front of you into the darkness.Vanderwood stood, leaning against the wall, watching this all go down. Hedidn’t want you to sit alone and have something… actually happen to you-though he knew it never would. It was all fake, just something to scareyourself, and he will be here once again to reassure you that everything wasfine. You told him that until 4:34am, you must stare only straight ahead, andbe aware of if the light on the candle goes out. For almost half an hour, youstared at the spot in front of you- he got tired of it. Kept telling you howeverything was fake, nothing would be happening, and that you were just goingto scare yourself over your own imagination- when your candle flame suddenlyblew out. The girlish scream that followed definitely did not come out of yourown mouth- though you were the one who blew out the candle in the first placeto freak out your “I-Don’t-Believe-In-That-Shit” of a partner, whichyou succeeded in.

Yeah so i had a wacked out dream last night, im writing it down here because its super silly and i want to remember it but im already losing a lot of the details. So I went to a radiohead concert and somehow i was in some backstage room area with alot of my “stuff” like books and work stuff and my bookbag and all that. i didnt know i was going to be at a concert much like a radiohead concert. anyway, i realize i am basically back stage and try to keep my head down before i get kicked out. some tour manager grabs me like who the F are you what are you doing here?! and i say hey look at all my stuff, obviously im supposed to be here for a meeting, to which the guy leaves me alone. so the backstage area gets crowded and the band goes on, im sorta behind the stage and i can see their backs. then in the backstage crowd i see the ex girl, and i pretend not to see her but she sees me and i sorta wave and she sorta waves back. im semi dismayed by how hot she looks. then ive still got all my “stuff” like on me, and im carrying it. and i know i gotta stash it all so i find some place to do that, then make my way out to the stage where i end up on stage with a lot of other people but only about 15 feet from thom as he is dancing around and being all weird and stuff. they are playing the bends. in the middle of the song, he stops and beckons for the kid in a wheelchair to come up to him on the sage. the kid does and grabs the mike and tells the crowd he is selling shirts to raise money. then all these 20 something girls come out with piles of shirts to sell. thom starts playing and as weird as the t shirt thing was ive been thinking about going back to where i was grabing the girl and saying “F it, we should at least have gone to one radiohead concert together, come on, come out here with me” (this is a thought ive had many times without the help of Morpheus, in fact i feel like ive got a list of things that if we could have done then id be much more at peace, i digress) but im afraid to leave where I am because then i wont have anywhere cool to take her. so i take out my phone to text her but before I can send a note these masked gunmen rush the stage (this is a big outdoor venue kind of place - like in a park) and people start running everywhere. soon the massive crowd has run away, im still on the stage but not many are left. i look out into the audience and I just see fckin Thom out there, wandering around and i see one of those limo vans coming at him and HIT him sending him flying i go running off stage down to the lawn with two other fans  who are shaking him like “thom thom thom!!” i tell them hes got a broken neck dont shake him. I get behind him and basically cradle his head and tell the other kids to run for an ambulance. thom is dead. but then he wakes up and is totally fine as a black car is approacing, this the fckin batmobile. he gives me a smile (a weird smile) and is like for you and throws me the keys to the batmobile. im like “what?! oh man the batmobile?!” he just sorta nods his head slowly i look off into the distance a way and there is billy idol (why?) and billy idol is giving me that slow billy idol nod with scowl smile like “yeah kid thats what its all about” however before i can think of getting into the batmobile and driving it away, courtney cox (why her i have zero idea, i dont care about cortney cox in the least on any level) comes walking across the yard, gets in the batmobile with thom and thom shrugs at me and drives away.  i look over at billy idol, who has somehow aquired a girlfriend and he is laughing his ass off at me, pointing at me and laughing. Then it went on with me going back to the backstage area where i see all these women from where i work all dolled up for a concert and i say hey what are you guys doing here, they ask me the same im like hey its a radiohead concert theyre one of my absolute fav bands. to which i get blank stares from these girls. they dont understand why i would be so into them them and so i just walk away from them to try to locate my stuff.  more things happend but not of much consequence.
the weird thing was ,when i woke up the morning i felt something in the palm of my hand i slowly brought it to my face to examine, i open a groggy eye and behold... it was THE KEY TO THE BATMOBILE!!! oh oh oh yeah!!!
ok that last part was a lie.
god im a real weirdo.
