Okay... I'm really glad you like my art but please dont come to my blog just to tell me you dont ship them, the two characters I post the most about. In the most light-hearted way possible, I dont care. I'm not shipping mina and chuck just for the sake of it, they are genuinely very personal to me and its just very heartbreaking to have someone say that completely out of pocket. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but for me it can come off as basically saying "Chuck wouldn't like you."

HI LOL.... my personal opinion is that the FSM gets a lot of hate for similar reasons to wu (which i also think are unjustified but that's a different post). like you said he gets a lot of the blame put on him for starting everything that's to come in the show, but i don't really feel like he intended to do any harm.

the FSM was born into a war. when he was still a very young child, he was forced to choose one side of himself, of his family, and destroy the other. and so he ran away. but this world he runs to is chaotic and dangerous. and so again, he is forced to fight for the right to live in peace along with the inhabitants of this world.

but even in this new world, he wasn't safe: the oni followed him, determined to bring him back to fight for them. and after them, the overlord. his whole life, especially when he was younger, he had been fighting, or running from forces that aimed to destroy him.

i believe the FSM was incredibly paranoid throughout his life, worrying that at any moment everything would be ripped away from him. this can be seen in how secretive he was, how much of his history is hidden away. the mech used to win the war against the overlord was sealed away where it could never be found. he granted elemental powers to select people to help keep him safe. even in his death, he hid away, in a place that even wu could not find.

this paranoia carries on through his sons. he taught them both to fight, to protect themselves, when they were also very young. one of the earliest moments we see of them is them fighting with swords! and though he loves them, they are not immune to his secrecy, or his fears. when they steal the scrolls and enter the serpentine territory, he never fully trusts them again. when garmadon gets bitten and starts to turn to evil, he's desperate to cure him. and i don't fully believe that the FSM intended to make garmadon feel broken or "wrong"... just that his fear has so consumed him at this point that he can't see the damage he's doing to his children.

it's also worth noting that despite garmadon's corruption, the FSM never truly hated him. he was left to protect the golden weapons alongside wu, he recieved the same protective enchanted gi, and was left the same clues to find him after his death. it's just that garmadon was unable to see this through the corruption (which is another post).

perhaps all he did was to protect his sons. that seems to be how wu sees it, at least. because wu repeats this same behaviour with the ninja, even if unintentionally. he brings these kids into a war because that happened to him, and his father before him. maybe he doesn't even realise it's wrong. he hides things from them not only because because he's ashamed of his past (again, another post lol), but because his father always hid things from him. it protects wu, but it also protects the ninja.

i don't believe the FSM was a flawless person. hes one of many grey characters in ninjago, and to boil down everything he did to "good" or "bad" is a disservice. maybe you see him as someone who only ever ran from problems instead of truly solving them, maybe you see him as a cruel and neglectful father. and maybe those are both true. but he's also someone who always tried to fight for peace, for himself and everyone in ninjago, and someone who truly loved his sons, despite the damage he did to them both.

so that's who i think the FSM was. an immortal, all powerful godlike being, yes, but also a scared child who just wanted to live peacefully, and would do anything to prevent another war. and maybe he is, in some way, indirectly responsible for every bad thing in the show, but i think this is more of an after-effect of the countless wars and conflict. he did the best he could, and considering all he went through, i think he did alright.

There were pros and cons to an event like a masquerade. The dress code calling for elaborate, eye catching attire was, to Alaric, a pro. The downside came in the intentional obscuring of identity, a hindrance for one who liked direct credit for his looks.

The dancing though, that made up for everything else. Ala stopped only long enough for a new partner, rarely for drink. If he wanted for the intrigue or debauchery, both established features of an event based in anonymity, well, he'd found both still achievable on the floor to those with experience.

That didn't leave him completely without wants, however. He'd tried all evening to catch the eye of a certain dancer, but poor timing and the man's clear talent had made the match impossible. Ala had nearly given up, settled for watching with discreet envy when close enough. Ala didn't lack for partners himself, but quantity was not quality.

When finally, and by chance, Alaric found the chance to cut in, he was grateful for the mask that hid his expression; excitement, and for a mere offer to dance, was embarrassing- especially for a stranger.

help I also had that same oversensitive problem with anons like the ones where it's somebody trying to be silly or w/e and the person responds like "ok" I cant leave the post on my screen for too long. it used to make me answer all my asks like a cheerleader writing an hr email because I'd be like what if they think im mad and then theyre so sad forever... it used to be so bad when I was a kid too I'd get flushed and tear up during cartoons where there's one guy who's always the butt of the joke bc he sucks I'd be like i can feel squidwards pain intuitively

this is exactly what I worry about, I don't ever mean to sound angry or antagonistic, I don't really get what about my talking is making people upset? And I'll be 100% honest the exclamations is bcs I worked in online customer service for like, 2 years and it is permanently ingrained in me now it happens when you get nitpicked and over analyzed weekly for it..

but also I never mean punctuation to be read as rude :( exclamations are like, excitement, to me not angry. what do you think about the kaeya = caribert theory? i saw some people use it as an 'explanation why his skin is dark' like. oh he used to be a Monster and the skin is a remnant of it :) and it pissed me off so bad. i need to know what other people think about it

i think it would be best if you didn't allow multiple submissions from the same series all at once from the same person, it's pretty clear when someone spammed a bunch of characters from their obscure webtoon and it makes you do a lot of work and its also unfair to people who only want to submit one character.

That's fair, this week is bearing the brunt of it I fear, there are almost no unique submissions. I don't necessarily see this as a major issue though, I post the weekly lineup before any upcoming polls so people can see what's coming up. If you don't want to see the streak of polls from a certain fandom, you can always block the tag (or if you're really fed up with me, the blog). Honestly, even this week isn't that bad. The first fourty-ish polls will be characters from the same 15~ fandoms, but after that it diversifies itself.

I do ask in my pinned that people not spam my form, but at the end of the day I can't really control it. I'm bound by contract (there is no contract I just hold myself to a standard) to post all unique submissions, so at the end of the day we all just have to go with it.
