You weren't sure why you bothered coming back here. You should have never started coming to this exact spot in the middle of the night to meet the blue hedgehog. He should've always been an enemy.
He shouldn't be your friend... you shouldn't be doing this-
It was all nice at first. You had been coaxed into meeting the Sonic in private. At first... it was all nice chat. It made you feel seen... made you feel loved... it was like a feeling you've long forgotten.
It was innocent when you came to the hedgehog, Sonic, for a feeling of something new. He often asked if you could leave Eggman and enjoy him. You began to see him as a friend... but always refused the offer.
To you, your visits were a way to have a glimpse into a normal life. You could justify it by just telling yourself it was all to get information. You wanted to have a normal life with Sonic... but could not leave the doctor.
You could tell how much your answers affected the hedgehog. He never seemed to like the idea of you staying with Eggman more than him. As a result... the innocent nature of his visits shift to something else.
Sonic's attempts to persuade you grow more desperate as you continue to meet him at night. His words became more aggressive and persistent. He even began to touch your hands or pull you into his embrace. Sonic seemed to try his best to pull you into his side...
But you remained loyal to Eggman.
He hated every second of it.
Even now as you meet the hedgehog leaning against a tree you can see him glaring. You refuse to run from him and stand before him despite your fears. Even when he wraps himself around you... your barely flinch.
"Just come back with me..." Sonic whispers, green eyes pleading towards you. He's acted like this before... which is why you didn't bother leaving. However... it was never this intense.
"I know you're part robot due to Eggman now... but you'll always have a home with me!" Sonic begs. "Don't you want a normal life? I can give you that!"
You say nothing and silently wonder again if this was a good idea. You shouldn't have ever met up with him in the first place. Now look where you are.
"Come on... please admit you want this!" Sonic pleads, keeping an intense gaze in your eyes. "Please admit you need me!"
"Sonic..." You sigh, pushing away from his tight grip. "Eggman will notice I'm gone. I really should head back, this wasn't a good idea-"
You barely finish your sentence before Sonic is tackling you onto the ground. You gasp as the wind is knocked out of you. That green gaze that always seemed so welcoming... now looks spiteful and glaring.
This... wasn't your friend anymore.
"No! You can't leave yet!" Sonic cries out. You go silent as the hedgehog's breathing goes ragged on top of you. Fear pings throughout as you try to assess the situation.
"Tell me you want me. Please. Just for one night tell me...tell me that you want me." Sonic whispers, looking desperately towards you for some sort of validation. Shock courses through you as the hedgehog leans closer.
Sonic didn't want to be your friend... Sonic wanted to he something else.
Your ears pin back in shock... what do you say?
You're brought back to your senses when Sonic leans closer.
"I'm going to kiss you. Okay? Just...just let me kiss you." Sonic whispers softly, nose touching yours. "I've... waited a long time for this."
This makes you make a move.
"We shouldn't...we shouldn't do this." You lightly push away the hedgehog, face heating at the thought. However, Sonic gently holds your wrist. He's soothing....
"Why not? What's so bad about enjoying this?" Sonic whispers with a small smile. "Don't you want to be loved?"
You say nothing and Sonic presses his lips softly on yours.
Truth is... you did want to be loved... no matter how strange it felt...
You just wonder how long it will last.

robot animals are just regular animals with extra steps
falling stars fic masterpost
The desert was quiet at night. None of the palm trees wanted to talk, and only rustled when Omega got too close. They turned their leaves away from his noisy thrusters prudishly, refusing to look at him or the hedgehogs he carried in his hands as they flew by.
Without the warmth of the sun, the desert was also a cold place. A chill swept over the red capped dunes, tossing sand around like confetti at a birthday party. It mixed with yellow sand to the east and orange sand to the west, creating a swirling vortex of color that made it difficult to keep track of where they were and where they had been. A minute ago, they'd passed by a green sand hill, but when Sonic looked back, the only thing he could see was a mountain of purple.
Omega didn't seem bothered by the shifting terrain. He stayed the course toward Scrap Brain Base with a confidence that only a robot with an internal GPS could have. Sonic was glad he knew where he was going, but he wished he'd brought a blanket. The robot's large titanium hands were freezing cold, and the blue hedgehog couldn't help but shiver. Shadow shivered, too, despite his fever.
The sooner they got to Scrap Brain, the better.
But their trip across the desert continued. And continued. And continued. As the minutes wore on, Sonic's patience grew thinner, and he had to exercise a good deal of willpower just to keep himself from asking Omega “Are we there yet?” every two minutes.
Thankfully, something new eventually started appearing amongst the colorful sands: scrap metal. It was only a few pieces at first, but that changed quickly. After about a minute or two, the rainbow dunes were swallowed up by sheets of half-rusted steel and broken, mismatched robot parts. The sea of scrap had become so thick that Omega couldn’t even fly in a straight line anymore; he was forced to swerve around the larger bits of metal that jutted out from the ground like skewers.
As they continued through the junkyard, the name Scrap Brain Base was beginning to make a lot of sense to Sonic.
But before he could start wondering where the "Base" part of it was, Omega crested the top of a large hill, and Sonic’s eyes widened. What he saw laid out before him was a far cry from the barren desert. Now, everything was plated in chrome, and there were structures everywhere. Large silver buildings pierced the sky, glittering alongside the stars. The biggest building by far, however, was the massive chrome dome in the middle of the complex, and once Omega touched down on the stable metal ground, he began walking toward it.
There was also movement. Everywhere he looked, Sonic could see robots milling about. Oversized wasp bots peppered the sky, their wings buzzing as they crossed the Base's air space. Sonic waved at the group nearest to him, and the three striped robots flew over quickly. Maybe a little too quickly.
The robots looked angry. But Sonic kind of just assumed that's what they normally looked like--angry. Wasps weren't known for having a calm temperament, after all. So, he wasn't afraid when they crowded around Omega, their stingers pointed down at him.
"Pretty snazzy paint job there," Sonic said to the wasp robots. "Too bad you guys aren't red. Then you'd really remind me of a certain someone!"
The wasp robots buzzed. They looked at each other uncertainly, as if they weren't sure what they were seeing.
That was when Buggy decided to pipe up. From its spot on Omega's shoulder, the little motobug beeped at the wasp robots, and then gestured to Sonic with one of its claws. It then pointed toward itself before casually wagging its claw. It beeped again.
The wasp robots flitted around Omega, who was pointedly ignoring them. They still seemed unsure.
Sonic smiled at them. "Any friend of Buggy's is a friend of mine!"
Finally, one of the wasp robots got close enough for Sonic to reach out and touch it. He did so with the same excitement you'd find on a kid at a candy store. He gave the robot a light pat on the top of its head, his eyes sparkling. Completely nonthreatening.
Much like the motobug before it, the wasp robot didn't know how to react at first. It knew it should probably run him through with its stinger while his guard was down, but the confusion it was currently experiencing jammed its processors. Was the motobug telling the truth, and this guy really wasn't Sonic the Hedgehog?
The other wasp robots started to get curious. They stopped buzzing around Omega's head and moved to hover in front of Sonic, who now had three buzzy bombers staring at him like lost puppies. He was thrilled. "There's enough for everybody," he said. But because he was still holding Shadow with one arm, he could only spare one hand for the wasp robots. Miraculously, they all waited their turn to get a little scratch on the cheek from him before flying off.
"Playing with bugs again, hedgehog?" Shadow asked sleepily.
Sonic jumped. "Stripes!" His face broke out into a grin, his surprise quickly giving way to relief. "Oh, man. You just missed 'em--but don't feel too bad, alright? This place is crawling with robots--it's so cool!"
Shadow sat up fully. With eyes still somewhat bleary from his impromptu nap, he looked around. They were almost to the chrome dome's doorstep now. The tall metallic structure towered over them, but its size wasn't what caught Shadow's attention; it was the shape of it. It almost looked like a face, with a long metallic mustache jutting out from both sides.
It looked startlingly familiar.
Sonic said, "I'll catch you up to speed. After your little stunt with the helicopter took you outta the game, things weren't lookin' too hot. Luckily, Omega got us a get-out-of-jail-free card! And now we're gonna meet the guy responsible. Right, Omega?"
Omega stopped walking, having finally reached the entrance to the dome. He replied, "AFFIRMATIVE." Then, he stared intently at the button on the wall in front of him. With his hands full of hedgehogs, he couldn't press it. "BLUE HEDGEHOG," he said, "YOU MUST RING THE DOORBELL."
Sonic pressed the button. A little electronic jingle played. And kept playing.
"What's the hold up?" Sonic asked. "You sure they're not out on a milk run, Omega?"
Suddenly, the jingle stopped. A holographic screen popped out of the button, and the face of a man with a bushy mustache appeared. He didn't look happy. "Back so soon, Omega? Don't tell me you were unable to locate the source of that energy anomaly. I don't have time to waste on failure right now…"
Omega lifted up his hands and presented Sonic and Shadow to the man. "PRIMARY DIRECTIVE COMPLETE," he said. "REQUESTING ACCESS TO SCRAMBLED BRAIN BOWL."
The man stared at Sonic and Shadow.
The hedgehogs stared back at him.
Sonic broke the silence first. "I guess we have you to thank for Omega's help earlier, huh? Gotta say, this 'Robotropolis' thing you've got going on here sure came as a surprise! I kinda dig it, though."
The man was very quiet. After a moment, he said, "For an old friend such as yourself, I could spare no expense."
In a flash, the door to the Brain Bowl slid open.
"But this is no way to have our reunion! Please, come in." The man grinned at Sonic and Shadow. "It seems as though we have some… catching up… to do."
The holographic screen disappeared, taking the man's face with it. Then, Omega stepped into the Brain Bowl, and the hedgehogs got their first clear view of the interior. It was filled with heavy machinery and blinking lights. It was also ginormous--the room they had stepped into appeared to be more of an airplane hanger than a real room, and it was packed with in-progress inventions.
And one of those inventions…
Shadow hopped down from Omega's hands. He walked over to a dark blue robot that looked an awful lot like a hedgehog. It seemed to be complete, but deactivated for the time being, if the blank screen on its face was anything to go by.
"Gee, Stripes," Sonic said. "First a hero, now a robot? Seems like you've gotta lotta copycats runnin' around!"
Shadow turned away from the hedgehog robot so he could address Omega. "Do you know anything about this?"
"METAL SONIC IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE," Omega replied.
Shadow looked back toward the dark blue robot. With a name like that, it must be a fake of the dead hero. He wondered what its purpose was, but Omega was already halfway across the hanger.
With one last glance, Shadow stepped away from the robot. He rejoined Omega, Sonic, and the motobug, and they all piled into a lift on the far side of the hanger together. However, instead of going up, the lift carried them downward, to the deepest part of the basement.
None of them saw Metal Sonic's eyes blink to life as they descended through the many levels of the Brain Bowl.
It didn't take long until they reached the bottom.
Once there, they passed through an open doorway and entered the room where Omega's creator was waiting for them. The man was clad in a long red coat, and his shiny glasses hid his eyes from view. Sonic couldn't help but notice the resemblance between him and Omega. He found it amusing.
"Excellent work, Omega," the man said, his hands clasped behind his back. "Now, if you don't mind, I'd like a moment to speak with our guests. Alone." He punctuated his words with a shooing motion.
Omega set Sonic down next to Shadow and then stomped off. He took the motobug (who was trying to make itself as small as possible) with him.
The man turned to Sonic and Shadow. "Well, well, well," he said. "Your tenacity never ceases to amaze me, Sonic. And here I thought you might not've survived your trip through our atmosphere! My mistake."
Sonic and Shadow looked at each other.
Shadow said, "It's true, then? The fallen hero… is me?"
The man's glasses flashed. He let out a laugh. "Oh-ho-ho! So, that's how it is, hmm?" He looked between the two hedgehogs for a moment. "Your fall has left you both without any clue as to who you really are. Is that right?"
"Nah," Sonic said quickly. He sounded irritated, almost defensive. "I know who I am. I'm just not sure who I was. But I don't care about that." He leaned heavily on his good leg, and jerked his thumb in Shadow's direction. "It's Stripes who's lookin' for answers. You got 'em? Or are we gonna need to look someplace else?"
The man peered at Sonic. The mask he wore gave nothing away. "Even without your memories, your attitude has remained intact." He stroked his mustache thoughtfully, and finally turned his attention toward Shadow. "Stripes, was it? I alone hold the keys to your past. I will gladly hand them over to you, but before you take them, remember this: some doors are better left closed!"
Shadow frowned. He thought about the flashes of memories he'd already seen, and how they all carried a sort of melancholy with them. "There might be some truth to your words," he admitted. He squeezed his hands into fists at his sides. "But that doesn't matter to me. I need to know what lies beyond those doors!"
The man grinned. "Very well," he said. "In that case, your name is Shadow the Hedgehog. You're an artificial lifeform created to combat the tyrannical rule of G.U.N--of which you should be quite familiar." He paused, letting that information sink in before continuing. "In their pursuit of power, those fools have endangered the world. You and your little blue friend fell from space after taking care of just one of the many problems they've caused. Although, your escape from certain death might be short lived…"
"Hold it," Sonic said. "Are you sayin' that Stripes--Shadow--is gonna die? Seriously?"
It was hard to dispute what the man was telling them. Even now, Shadow still felt a little feverish.
"Don't you worry," the man said coyly. "Now that you've found your way back to me, I will subdue the Chaos Energy that's boiling his blood."
"And who are you to make such a claim?" Shadow asked.
The man's grin turned wolfish. "I'm the one who created you, of course. Doctor Ivo Robotnik. But you may call me Doctor Eggman!"

You're wanted *a Tails Wachowski One shot*
Tails has been hiding his whole life, but what if after thinking for so long he'd never find anyone who'd love him...he did
A few days after the fiasco with Robotnik Tom, Maddie, Knuckles, and Tails were sitting at the Wachowski family table.
Tom and Maddie were discussing something in hushed voices.
Tails had a horrible hunch on what they were talking about, but he hoped he was wrong.
His hunch was confirmed when Tom looked at Knuckles and Tails and asked the dreaded question.
"So, what do you guys plan on doing now?"
Tails and Knuckles looked at Tom confused.
"Well surely you guys have homes, and your parents must be worried sick, right?" Tom asked.
"Sadly no I'm afraid not, all my tribe have been dead for a long time, and I no longer have a home to return to." Knuckles said.
"I'm so sorry hon, but you're welcome to stay." Maddie said.
"Thank you miss Maddie, I appreciate it." Knuckles asked.
"What about you little guy?" Tom asked turning to Tails.
Tails was about to reply when he suddenly froze.
"They don't want you here." A faint but horrifyingly familiar voice hissed at him.
But surely they did...right.
"You're no good to them...all you are is a burden." The voice hissed.
Tails shook his head and covered his ears trying to drown out the voice.
Surely the Wachowski's wanted him, surely they loved him...didn't they.
"You're. A. FREAK." The voice hissed, yelling the last word with such venom.
Tails shrunk in slightly on himself but jumped when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked and saw it was Sonic, with a very concerned frown on his face.
"Tails...you okay pal?" Sonic asked looking worried.
"Yeah, just zoned out for a moment...you know what I'm like." Tails lied.
Sonic nodded, but he wasn't convinced at all.
Tails turned back to Tom.
"Oh yeah, my old village probably are missing me, they just...love me there." Tails lied again.
Tom looked at Maddie who looked just as confused as him, clearly something was wrong, but they couldn't just force him to tell them.
"Well okay, if you're sure. But if you need us we're just a ring toss away." Tom said.
Tails nodded, pushing back the tears that were threatening to fill his eyes.
A couple of days later Tails was getting ready to leave, the others were saying their hopefully short lived farewells to the fox.
"You get everything hon?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah, I think I've got everything." Tails said adjusting his backpack straps.
"It's gonna be odd not having you around pal, you've already fit in so well with us." Tom said.
Tails was going to say something when he heard the voice again.
"They're lying." It growled into his ear.
"Thank you...Mr Wachowski." Tails nodded.
They all gave Tails a hug before the fox pulled out a ring and threw it down.
"Well...goodbye." Tails said giving them a small, sad wave before disappearing through the ring.
The ring closed behind him seconds later.
Sonic frowned as Tails went through the ring, he had a nagging feeling something was wrong.
"I don't know about you guys, but I don't like this." Sonic said still staring at the spot where Tails had vanished.
The others nodded, they all had a feeling Tails wasn't telling them something.
Meanwhile:
A ring opened in the middle of the forest and an all too familiar fox jumped out from it.
Tails looked around and saw a small cave in front of him, Sonic's old cave he guessed, only a lot more barren because Sonic's stuff was in his room at the Wachowski house.
Tails felt his heart clench when he thought of them.
Surely they'd liked him, did he do something wrong?
"They don't want you, nobody wants you, TWO. TAILED. FREAK." The voice roared, Tails could feel his eyes watering.
Tails curled up into a ball on the floor and wept.
Over the next few weeks Tails showed up very little, which was to be expected but Maddie and Tom couldn't help but notice some changes in the fox.
He seemed much quieter than normal and Tom and Maddie could both swear he'd gotten thinner.
Tails said he'd gone back to his parents, but clearly they weren't doing their jobs.
Plus he seemed awfully young, even younger than they'd first thought.
They decided to talk to him about it the next time they saw him.
Thankfully they didn't have to wait long as Tails showed up a few days later.
He'd just finished eating when Tom and Maddie sat next to him.
"Tails, honey can we talk for a minute?" Maddie asked.
Tails just nodded and looked at her.
"How old are you, if I may ask, you seem awfully young." Maddie said.
Tails frowned and was silent for a moment before speaking.
"Eight." He said looking at her dead in the eye.
Tom and Maddie were shocked, this kid was EIGHT and apparently hopping between planets by himself.
Sure some kids were allowed to travel small distances by themselves, but THIS was something else, Tails was far too young to literally travelling to different planets by himself.
Tails saw the looks on their faces and frowned, did he say something wrong.
"Is everything ok, did I do some wrong?" Tails asked.
"No no, of course not honey, you're just a bit young to be hopping planets by yourself." Maddie said stroking the Fox's bangs not noticing the way he seemed to tense at the contact.
"Maybe we should meet your parents Tails." Tom suggested, maybe Tails would be happy to introduce his family to them.
However this had the exact opposite effect they were expecting.
Tails mumbled about a million things at once and with speed that would make Sonic jealous he bolted out the first window and within moments was gone.
And he didn't come back.
It wasn't for another month Tails would be found.
That night Wade was driving into town when he suddenly saw something on the road in front of him.
Cursing and slamming on the breaks as hard as he could Wade prayed he didn't hit whatever it was.
Thankfully the car stopped just in the nick of time.
Wade hurriedly got out the car to investigate and to his utter shock his car lights illuminated...Tails.
Wade was no parent and he certainly wasn't very experienced with kids but he could tell Tails had been having a rough time of it.
His fur was dirty and seemed longer than the last time he saw the kid.
He could also see what looked like food scattered everywhere...but why would Tails need to steal food.
Nevermind that now, he needed to help this kid.
Wade slowly approached Tails, noting how the kid looked absolutely terrified.
"Hey Tails, it's me Wade, you remember me right?" Wade asked.
Tails nodded cautiously.
"That's good, I need you to come to the station with me, I'll call Tom." Wade said.
Tails frowned, he really wanted to see the others, but he didn't want to bother them either.
"Please kid, we've been looking for you for ages, they really want to see you." Wade said.
Tails sighed and nodded, he just couldn't keep this up anymore.
Once they got to the station Wade cleaned Tails up the best he could and made him a cup of hot chocolate, sticking some cream and marshmallows in there as well.
While Tails gratefully sipped his drink Wade called Tom and told him about Tails.
Not even ten minutes later Tom, Maddie, Knuckles and Sonic practically barreled into the police station.
"Tails, you're OK!" Sonic exclaimed joyfully running up to Tails and enveloping him in a hug.
To everyone's surprise Tails suddenly burst into tears.
"Tails?" Sonic asked confused.
"Hey, hey what's wrong baby?" Maddie asked worriedly kneeling down to Tails' height and looking at him worriedly.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I didn't go back." Tails sobbed clinging onto Sonic's fur, his entire body shaking as he sobbed with what seems like weeks and weeks of pent up sadness suddenly exploding.
"I should have just left and not let you all worry about me, this time I promise I'll go." Tails said still hobbling heavily into Sonic.
"Woah Woah, we aren't mad honey more concerned, but if you haven't been at home, where have you been?" Maddie asked.
"I'm the forest, I-In Sonic's old cave." Tails said trying to stop the tears now flowing down his face.
"But what about your parents, don't they miss you?" Tom asked confused.
Tails sniffled and looked at Tom with glassy eyes.
"They don't care about me, they left me years ago." Tails said.
You could have heard a pin drop in the silence that enveloped the room, even Wade was speechless.
Sonic broke the silence.
"They-They left you." Sonic said gaping at Tails' slack jawed.
Tails just nodded.
"I don't know why, I don't even know if I did something wrong, but they just left me, in the middle of a field, I had to look after myself." Tails said.
"But didn't they...care for you?" Knuckles asked.
Tails laughed, but not his usual chirpy laugh, this was a cold, bitter laugh that sent chills down Knuckles's spine.
"Love me, they were as bad as the rest of my village, maybe worse, they didn't hug or kiss me, they didn't comfort me when I had nightmares or was scared of the storms, they'd even break my inventions because they believed they were "unnatural" and "freakish", they straight up told me I was nothing but a burden to them and a curse on our entire town, when my mother left me her last words to me were literally "Farewell Miles, you have been nothing but a burden to us since the moment you born, you're unnatural and scary and are a curse upon us and our village, now go, I never want to see you again. YOU. TWO. TAILED. FREAK"." Tails yelled his body shaking violently as a whole new round of sobbing commenced immediately after his rant.
Sonic stared at Tails with glassy eyes, he'd been fighting hard not to cry seeing Tails...no, his little brother break down like this, but that last part was the nail in the coffin, and sure enough Sonic found himself crying too.
"Oh Tails, that's so awful, I'm so sorry." Sonic choked out before pulling Tails into another almighty hug, the two just simply crying into each other's fur.
"I'm sorry Tails, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I wish I could have stopped it from happening to you." Sonic said clinging onto Tails for dear life.
"It doesn't matter, I guess they were right about me after all, no one wants me, I'm nothing but a little two tailed freak." Tails choked out.
Maddie cut Tails off before he could say anything else, looking him directly in the eyes.
"Miles prower, I never want to hear you say that again! You are one of the most precious things I have ever met, you are not a freak, you never were, and I swear to you if I ever find the people who've treated you this way, I will put them through hell and back." Maddie vowed.
Tails just nodded and Maddie hugged both him and Sonic, Tom and Knuckles joining in the hug.
Tails couldn't believe how loving and caring the Wachowski's had been to him and for the first time in years Tails finally believed there was someone out there who would love him.
And it was the Wachowski family.

Hi! Hope you’re doing wonderfully!✨ My question is what got you into Sonamy? (If you are)
Hi! Thank you ^_^
I am! In fact, I would say it's my top ship for both of them (though with Sonic this spot is shared with Sonknux, I couldn't be asked to choose between them hehe).
The only versions of them that I don't really ship is Fleetway, and Boom (more on that later).
With Fleetway, I feel like it does a very good job at doing a "What if Amy actually got over Sonic and then got into a relationship with someone else (who isn't similar to Sonic so it doesn't look like a bad rebound), and she and Sonic become even closer friends" type of scenario (Which I gotta admit, Fleetway Sonic and Amy have an amazing dynamic and they're ride or die for each other), which is also partially why I'm not interested in seeking it out just for the sake of it. (I do ship Amy with characters other than Sonic or Tekno, but that's not the reason why). I feel like it partially also raises my interest in Sonamy, like. We've already seen what happens when she gets over Sonic, let's see something else now? Right?
Some people might think it doesn't count, because Fleetway Amy is so different from regular Amy, and maybe, if you compare her to Adventure Amy. But I actually find her quite similar to the way Amy is written in IDW, they even have kind of a similar, "edgier" compared to other versions of the character, sense of humor. (Also this is me saying modern!Teknamy would totally work how are there no fics with Tekno in the game-esque universe?? (Heck there's almost no Fleetway based Teknamy fics either for how much everyone is gushing about their relationship) I can't see her working for Eggman here, but maybe she could work for GUN developing weapons for them, while also using their resources for personal projects on the side (maybe befriending Team Dark in the process), but when it gets discovered GUN tries to arrest them but Team Dark helps them get away and hide, eventually they meet Sonic & friends, including Amy. Since GUN got destroyed in Forces, Tekno is free now, maybe if you're doing an idw-based thing they could join the restoration or something. It could work! Modern!Teknamy! Think about it!)
Anyway, back to Sonamy. I don't actually remember how I started shipping them. I used to watch Sonic X a lot when I was little, but I guess the Sonamy didn't make that big of an impact on me back then, I mostly remembered Knuckles and Rouge having a thing there.
Then way later I was actively watching the Sonic Boom tv show as it was coming out, but... I didn't like Sonamy there at all. It's not their relationship on its own, but everyone making jokes about it, "shipping" them together in-universe which made me not like it. It just felt really forced. (And the issues with Amy's portrayal in Boom are a topic for a completely different discussion)
And it's only when I properly got into games that I actually saw what their relationship is actually like!
And I'll be real... it wasn't always... great. There was some turbulence. I even believe the people who think Amy didn't even initially like Sonic, but only was infatuated with his image of a hero and the freedom & adventures that she had associated with him. She projected her fairytale fantasies combined with heteronormative societal expectations onto him and their potential relationship. (Just look at her in Adventure! She misses Sonic because she misses adventures, she thanks him for saving her because he's her hero but he actually barely did anything there! She was the hero!) No wonder Sonic wasn't on board with that! (Even though he still was always friends with Amy) Who would be! But here's the kicker:
It changed
The dynamic changed! They changed! And it's always fun. I can't hate the way Tails is written on Colors–Frontiers because there's dynamic! He's going through a little character arc! (A character arc of hitting rock bottom instead of becoming his best self but an arc nonetheless. It's something interesting. And now we get to see him rise back up)
And it also shows that their dynamic is able to evolve and isn't stuck! Which means there is a possibility that it would evolve further! Isn't that just fun to think about?
Amy became more confident in herself. She realized she didn't need Sonic to go on adventures or to save her. With this, their relationship became more equal. Sonic in general became more personable and closer to his friends.
Amy is now not blinded by just seeing Sonic as "Her Hero" and is able to see him as a person that he actually is and falls in love for real! I already mentioned this before, but I think her attempt at confession in Lost World signifies that. Everyone already knows she loves him, but now, it's different.
On Sonic's end, there aren't as many changes, he's just able to be more open and comfortable around her (even though she's still able to occasionally throw him off with her over the top energy). (I also personally headcanon that Sonic didn't have a lot of experiences with romance which might have lead him to believe that the way Amy acted initially is "the standard" (which he couldn't and didn't want to match, and prevented him from realizing his feelings for a longer time. I personally headcanon him as demiro which is probably why my top ships with his are with his two closest friends)
Ultimately, their dynamic on its own is fun, too. They're a kickass team and they have a similar sense of humor, which is fun and I wish we got to see them banter more. They also have a similar fascination with adventures and love for nature and the world. Sonic doesn't need to slow down for Amy because she loves him as he is, and Amy doesn't need to give up her projects to be by Sonic's side because he's always supportive and encouraging of her!
They just have a very cozy friendship nowadays, especially when you remember everything that happened before we got there! But that's what makes it so good. The history they have, the work they put into their relationship, no soulmate "love from first sight" can match that. (Though of course they're also now canonically soulmates too because of Frontiers but they're also soulmates with Tails and Knuckles so it's not like that)
Hehe, well. I rambled a lot, not sure I actually answered your question 😅 I guess they're just cute!

While I don't super disagree with you, I do have to say the timing is a little funny since zealousfox has recently been exposed of asking for nudes to minors and he's known sontails nsfw fan. While I agree it doesn't make one an pedophile I do have to say why would you like porn of an obvious 8 year old boy? Or ship Chris with an adult character when he's 12, but yeah people that complain about Sonamy are stupid
I don't know. Really, don't ask me. I don't find cub porn attractive in the slightest, far from it. And while I say that most Sonic characters don't have a fixed age and it's really stupid to make a moral discourse out of ships like Sonamy or Knuxouge just based on the cold hard numbers of their former ages, it's undeniable that characters like Tails, Cream and Charmy are designed to be perceived as young kids - Tails might be a genius who flies planes, but he still acts anywhere from 8 to 12 depending on the game. So I understand the visceral repulsion and the question "what is the appeal? What kind of person would like such a thing?".
But by the same logic, I can bring you this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A guy who went on harsh tangents against problematic fictional content ended up sharing NSFW material with real minors :) and he's far from being the only example.
Hell, recently there has been a shitstorm against Reploid REVO, a very important name in the Mega Man fandom, for flirting with minors in his server. He didn't do anything weird in the open. He just talked about the perfectly family-friendly Mega Man. (in fact, I even remember him complaining about Zero/Ciel for being "problematic", but sadly he has protected his tweets so I can't show proof)
And this is the scary part: you cannot assume. I think this is one of the biggest reasons there is this hysteria against problematic ships and whatnot: because clearly, only a dangerous person would like such things, right? And if I can spot them from the content they like, I would never fall prey to them! Instead, I will always trust people who tend towards Pure Content, because this means they are pure of heart uwu (ignore the part where they send graphic death threats to people they don't like: it's justified /s)
And that's just not how it works, sadly. We can't know why someone likes "weird shit". Is it to cope with serious trauma? Is it to safely explore a terrible scenario in a setting where no real person is hurt? Is it to be edgy? Is it because they have genuinely that kind of terrible impulses that they are three days away from enacting IRL? We can't know, and we surely cannot ask because victims shouldn't feel forced to wave a "get out of discourse" card (not that it works, as victims are also chastized for "coping" the wrong way, see above lol).
I know the sweetest people that have all sorts of "nasty" fetishes. They have their own personal reasons to be appealed by certain kinks, and it's not because they're secret pedophiles. I, myself, am starting to understand that I might like certain things because it's my brain's way of elaborating the life I'm living. Brains are weird. It would be very convenient if abusers and criminals announced their ill intentions as easily as having weird porn in their likes, but then abuse wouldn't exist because it would be easily preventable, would it.

[Review] Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (PS5)
Tumblr media
Jet Set Radio Future 2 is here, and it's all I ever wanted.
When Team Reptile made Lethal League and—more precisely—its sequel, they did an excellent job capturing the feel and aesthetic of Sega's Jet Set Radio games in a new genre. Now they've only gone and bloody done it - made an actual Jet Set Radio homage game, and it's an absolute stunner! Specifically, this is a pitch-perfect pastiche of Jet Set Radio Future, acting as a sequel to the 2002 classic in all but name, and since that particular instalment is a personal favourite of mine, I couldn't be happier.
Tumblr media
BRC seems to deeply understand what was great about JSRF and then faithfully and lovingly recreates it, with some new ideas and refinements to boot. In case you need catching up, it's a sort of urban street punk adventure: you get around, grind, and trick on inline skates, tag graffiti all over, contest with rival gangs, and avoid the overzealous police force. The world is colourful and detailed but a bit low-poly with a cel-shaded filter, and levels are set up as huge skatepark playgrounds. All the while a soundtrack of fresh beats including hip-hop, house, and electropop accompanies you.
Tumblr media
In BRC the structure of story-related tasks broken up by exploration returns, the levels full of collectibles to give you new colour schemes, music tracks, graffiti designs, etc. as well as just setpieces to "platform" around. A fast-travel system helps you get between areas, some of which replay the hits of JSRF while others explore new territory like a mall complex or industrial oil rig; the setting of New Amsterdam nods to the developer's Dutch origin but in practice it feels like it would easily fit in Tokyo-to (disclaimer, I have never visited The Netherlands). In addition to skates you have skateboards and BMX, each one having slightly different manoeuvrability plus the chance to open certain doors in the game world: for example, a skateboard can trick on fire hydrants to get elevated to a handful of secret areas. This gives more of a reason to have different ones on hand but can feel like an arbitrary passkey check.
Tumblr media
Movement is aided by the new boost pack mechanic, which gives you an enormously useful air-dash. A boost meter gives you some speed but can also freshen up trick combos and extend your manual, while it's refilled by tricking (like in Sonic Rush), so doing these cool lines and combos feeds back into movement in a satisfying way. Cans have been done away with entirely so you can tag at any time without worry, and graffiti minigames have actually been brought back from the original JSR, except here they're super quick and snappy, and your inputs determine which of your unlocked tags goes up which keeps the visuals fresh.
Tumblr media
A handy new feature is the flip-phone menu (reminiscent of The Arcane Kids' vaguely JSR-esque Zineth). It's great for flavour but also lets you get tips from teammates or contact new recruits, check out your range of graffiti designs and how to write them, consult a persistent minimap while highlighting tag spots, or change the currently playing music. And speaking of the soundtrack, it's sublime, a heady mix and perfect tonal accompaniment that even includes three tracks from the funky uncle himself Hideki Naganuma (much like Hover before it)... and if you ask me they're some of his best.
Tumblr media
Another way BRC expands slightly on JSRF's template is a bit more emphasis on plot, with a central mystery revolving around recently-decapitated protagonist Red, his new cyberhead, and his connections to the previous top dogs in the city's counterculture. This framing fumbles at times, but it gives more purpose to your interactions with other rudies and conflicts with the cops, and interstitial sequences between chapters lets the game reinterpret JSRF's surreal climax in a dream context.
Tumblr media
I've been eagerly awaiting this game and as a big fan of JSRF it didn't disappoint. BRC takes everything I loved about that (now slightly creaky and inaccessible) game and gives it a fresh coat of paint. I've seen people gripe about the price and playtime but both are about on par with the game that it styles itself as a love letter to, so it would be disingenuous of me to complain about either. Better by far to celebrate what an awesome achievement this game is in recapturing a unique classic while brilliantly modernising it. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk reminds me why I love video games.

@lightdash : “Yo, partner.” Sonic calls out from his spot against the doorway. He throws up a peace sign. “I’ve got an errand to run. Want to join me?”
They don't — they don't understand. How Sonic can be so nice to them, can treat them so well, can call them partner. He'd saved them — and not even just so he could kill them himself. He'd carried them back to Restoration HQ. He's given more than enough kindness for the fucked up rabbit that just about gutted his little brother. Sonic is kind and good and Ava knows that, they do. He's been their lifeline before, been kind when he didn't need to before. It's as familiar story, the war repeating in some miserable way, Sonic saving them from their own devouring sick and lonely and the way the blood of a loved one / many loved ones looks. but this time, she's the one that spilled it. no better than Infi ——
They're recovered, at least mostly. At least physically. No longer confined to the infirmary, at least. Amy's asked them to stay with the Restoration for now, maybe afraid that Ava will simply disappear, untraceable, again. It's not like they've got anywhere else to go, and Amy's eyes go so terrified and elated and sick every time she looks at them that Ava couldn't say no to her if they tried. So they're still here, idling in an empty room, not sure where to be or how to be around the others. So they're still here, being surprised by Sonic, who's so impossibly kind to them.
She smiles — an old instinct, partner, he called me partner — at the greeting, a hand raising to return it. It pauses, hesitating alongside her when she remembers all the reasons he shouldn't call her partner and feels almost guilty for the momentary reprieve of forgetting. She commits, both to the movement and the smile, but she can feel the weakness of both.
Tumblr media
She loves Sonic. But when they'd met, all the memories they made and shared revolved around Infinite. Now all the new memories she'd made with him, after the war, are stained red with Tails's blood and the unbearable, unsurvivable feeling of helplessness. ( she keeps checking for her knives and getting scared when they're gone, even though she knows why she had to give them up. ) Ava loves Sonic in more ways that she has words for. Looking at him, though, feels a little like drowning in her guilt and her shame and her grief — and in the memories. Every sharp and painful thing feels sharper now that she isn't starving and injured and running on so few fumes that there's no space for thought.
She almost wants to laugh. Aching like she was the one with a knife in her stomach. Selfish.
Ava knows they're failing to match his casual energy, but they try, scarred hands shoving in the pockets of their jeans, shoulders shrugging, still smiling something unsure. ( they hope they know it's not him. not all the way. they haven't been able to smile properly in a way that feels real since they hurt tails. ) They don't understand but they believe the offer and the kindness behind it. Hands free from the pockets to sign back, < happy to, > and they don't add partner even though that feels wrong, too. < are you...sure? you don't have to. > Be nice to me. Take me along. It's hard to imagine Sonic doing this if he didn't want to, but they couldn't bear it if he was forcing himself to offer this for their sake.

I've come to post random DAI HCs nobody asked for bc I am bored!
If the inquisitor is the sweet, caring type and generally someone you wouldn't expect to see in a place of power bc they're to nice for their own good, Solas will have a soft spot for them. I will be drawing this
Cullen is short, josie is short and Lelianna and Cassandra are tall. Fight me.
If the inquisitor is the same as seen in the solas hc, Varric will also have a soft spot. It's just. I can not resist the dynamic okay and it's just the vibes I get
Sera, if your inquisitor is both chill and a human noble thingy, will be extra excited if you agree to pranks as they didn't expect it at all, same with elves
CULLEN IS BISEXUAL I WILL DIE FIGHTING FOR BI CULLEN
Cole would really like sonic the hedgehog, don't ask me why once again can't argue with the vibes
Cullen is semi-verbal, especially after fights. As I have, he's learned how to force himself to talk, however a lot of the soldiers and advisors etc. etc. took notice and leave him alone when he's like this, totally not a self insert fails to whistle...

I M A G I N E ; ;
Young Knuckles and young you are just trying to catch a frog.
This is how it might go...
WARNINGS ;; NONE, JUST SOME ADORABLE FLUFF.
Ribbit! The frog croaked, sitting by the creak of a sturdy log. A fly whizzed by, but it was retracted into the frog's mouth very quickly. And, the green-spotted frog continued croaking.
Ribbit!
A set of violet eyes and [Eye Colour] eyes were peeking through the bushes. Shuffling about in the bushes caught the frog's attention, as it ribbited yet again and hopped to the other side of the log.
The shuffling shifted over to a hidden area nearby the bush.
"Remember, just like we practiced, Knux!"
"Don't call me that, and shush! You might scare the prey away!"
"Prey? What are you talking about? We're going to catch a frog! Not whatever, 'prey' is!"
"'Prey' is-- Nevermind, just keep quiet!"
Silence enveloped the area, all that was heard was the wind rushing about and the frog's rigid croaking. All of a sudden; a series of puny war-cries were heard, as the two small figures jump out after the frog with spears in their hands.
The young red echidna charged towards the frog with full force, while the other young [Colour] [Animal Name] was depending on their spear more and jabbing it at the air.
The frog widened its eyes and hopped away quickly, before the two could even reach it and it caused the young mobians to topple down onto the floor.
"Augh!"
"Aw, man..."
The two groaned in annoyance, getting up and rubbing the dirt off from themselves. "We'll get it next time, Knux!"
"Yeah, we will and I thought, I told you to stop calling me that!"
"You did, but I didn't want to listen." [Name] shrugged, a lop-sided grin on their fuzzy face and flicked the young echidna's nose.
Knuckles let out s splutter, wrinkling his nose and backed his head away in shock from the flick. A small frown crossed onto his lips, as he crossed his arms.
"Now, c'mon! We might find something at the river!" The young [Animal Name] excitedly commented, quickly forgetting about the runaway (more like; hop-away) frog.
They grabbed the echidna's hand, dragging him away with them and Knuckles let out a surprised yip of bewilderment.
"Slow down, [Name]!"

(//OOC: The friend of mine that inspired me to run this ask blog recently filled out a character questionnaire for the character she plays, and it was such a damn good questionnaire that I just had to fill it out for Omega. Long post beneath the cut of me dumping my headcanons for this robot:)
How aware is your character of their thought processes? Do they think about why they do what they do (however accurately)? Do they care about self-analysis?
Ooh, complicated question, since Omega can look into his own memory banks and literally review his own thought processes on a whim. But does this mean he's good at it? Not really. Upon reviewing an impulsive decision, he's more likely to remark "RAGE PROTOCOLS WERE RUNNING AS NORMAL" instead of sitting down and puzzling out why he was so enraged and how it affected the outcome of his decision.
That being said, he's all about self-analysis. He's constantly reviewing old data to try and gain an edge over his enemies. He's just terrible at admitting when he's made a mistake, so he doesn't really learn from it.
Is your character more likely to think they can overcome something even when they can't or to feel helpless even when they aren't?
This overconfident motherfucker thinks he can solo the entire Eggman empire on an average day, so take a guess.
But when everything's on the last straw, it isn't always ego that convinces him he can overcome the impossible. It's also a steely determination, a sort of "I have to do it or I die. There is no other option," if you will. When failure is not an option, he simply erases it from his processor. He's similar to Sonic in this regard.
What's one thing they're overconfident about? What's one thing they're under-confident about?
Overconfident about? It would be intuitive to say "his abilities", but that's actually not the case. He is a scarily competent killing machine. What he's actually most overconfident about is his strategic planning. He's the Ultimate Robot: Of Course He Can Succeed In Any Tactical Situation, so he clearly doesn't need to think about setting himself up for success before engaging. You don't need to reposition if there's no more enemies left to force you out of position. You don't need to hide if there's no one left to see you. Right?
Underconfident about? His social skills. He considers his skill with people to be barely passable enough to get him where he needs to be, but he can be more charismatic than he realizes. He's got a higher understanding of cognitive empathy than he thinks he does due to his observational tendencies.
How aware of and in control of their physical presence are they? Could they ever be caught with their clothes inside-out or spinach in their teeth? Do they ever stop paying attention to where they're walking or hit things when gesturing?
Omega used to be terrible- constantly crashing into things, crushing furniture, etc. Spending the first year or so of his life locked in a cramped basement left him unpracticed with movement. Not only that, but the world outside is so much more fragile than he is. It took him time to learn the strengths of common household materials and the height/width tolerances of things like doors. Nowadays, he's pretty good with spaces he's familiar with. Put him in an environment he's never been in before, like a grandmother's house or something, and he might start running into and breaking things again.
As for hygiene stuff, he's pretty on top of it. He's got sensors all over his body, including his blind spots. Shadow tried to stick a note on his back once. It didn't work- he detected it immediately.
How good are they at accurately assigning blame? Do they think everything is their fault? That nothing is?
Nothing is Omega's fault, ever.
With exactly one exception: if avoiding blame would make Eggman look more competent. If Eggman got away because he missed his shot, he'll begrudgingly admit he missed his shot rather than make up anything outrageous to justify how Eggman avoided it.
(He'll be pissed at himself for weeks afterwards, of course.)
Name something from your character's past that affects their behavior now in a way they don't realize and something that affects them in a way they do realize.
Omega can't stand being alone, especially in rooms with the door closed. He can do it if he's got a distraction, such as a videogame, but even then he'll still leave the window open to hear the sounds of people from outside. This is directly because he spent the first year of his life trapped in the same room alone. He has no idea that he's this sensitive about it and will deny it if someone pointed it out.
The part of his trauma that he does choose to acknowledge and externalize is the obvious one: he hates his creator and goes out of his way to disrespect him every chance he gets.
Does your character overcompensate for anything?
His whole "Ultimate Robot" schtick is to overcompensate for the fact that he was discarded by his creator. If he's the best at what he does, then no one will ever throw him away ever again.
Does your character believe they're chronically lucky/unlucky? Why?
Chronically unlucky. Eggman always seems to get away. His inferior robots keep coming. Could this be because Omega isn't strong enough to take them on alone? No, Never! It's because of the mistakes of others or just plain bad chance, that's all!
Does your character have an inner monologue? Are their thoughts about themselves more frequently positive or critical?
Nope, no inner monologue, but you bet that his post-action reviews are nothing but complimentary about himself unless he physically malfunctions.
Are there any values or beliefs your character espouses but doesn't live up to?
Omega has stated since day one that he's superior to organic beings due to being a robot. . . but he doesn't exactly believe it anymore. His respect for certain organics has debunked that line of logic, though he's too prideful to admit it now.
How good at reading people is your character, usually? Do they think they're better or worse at it than they are?
He's actually pretty damn decent at it, especially when it comes to his teammates. He's one of the few people on the planet who could have a good guess at what's going on in Shadow's head at any given time, for one. While organic social/emotional cues weren't intuitive for him, he learned them by doing "post-action" reviews for any social interactions he had. Combine this with a flawless memory and a willingness to research anything he gets stuck on, and he's got more capacity for that sort of thing than you might expect from a killer robot.
Of course, he doesn't value this skill nor advertise that he has it, so he thinks he's worse at it than he actually is.
(So why'd he bother learning? Initially, it was to understand Eggman to be better at killing him. Then it morphed into a desire to understand and eventually take care of his organic teammates, though he'd never admit that straight.)
What sorts of things does your character use to evaluate someone they've just met—clothes, looks, attitude? Is there anything (besides bad behavior) that will give them a kneejerk dislike of a stranger? A kneejerk affection?
Physical aptitude. Omega is quick to categorize organics into "pathetic civilians" or "potential assets" based on muscle mass, how many weapons they have, etc. (Other robots don't get the privilege of categorization- they're labeled "inferior", regardless of traits.)
Kneejerk dislike is, of course, if the person makes any sort of respectful/complimentary statement about Eggman, even if unintentional. Other kneejerk dislikes include people who suggest diplomacy as a solution to any problem.
Kneejerk affection is if the person is capable of mass destruction. With weapons or superpowers, doesn't matter.
Would you say your character is too trusting, not trusting enough, or juuuust right?
Not trusting enough. He assumes that everyone other than himself or a tiny handful of his friends are incompetent idiots who can't be trusted with anything. He's very guarded with strangers even after they prove their worth.
How susceptible is your character to perceiving or treating others like surrogate parents or children (or some other specific familial role)? Why?
Not at all! The only concept of "family" he has is from Rouge and Shadow, and he only know of that term because those two use it sometimes. He doesn't understand why such a designation would matter, what difference being a "family" might make versus just being close to someone.
Can they easily tell when someone is hitting on them?
Nope! He'd conflate any flirting attempts with Rouge's typical "flirty" banter, which she does platonically. Not that he's ever been hit on before. It'd be funny as hell to see someone try.
How sensitive are they to passive aggression or backhanded compliments? Do they ever read too much into things?
It's a 50/50 shot if he notices the passive aggressiveness from someone (higher if it's Shadow or Rouge), but if he does, he gets irritated about it. He'll tell the offending person that they're a coward for not stating their problem with him directly. (He will never employ passive aggressiveness himself unless being directly aggressive to someone will severely hinder him from achieving his goals- the GUN director has been on the receiving end of many half-assed tasks and disinterested "AFFIRMATIVES".)
He takes backhanded compliments completely straight- "thank you" and all. He loves frustrating people by giving off the impression that he doesn't recognize the back-handedness.
Does your character project anything in particular onto other people—thinking everyone is scheming because they're always scheming themselves, for example?
If you squint, Omega projects his own sense of individuality onto people. He believes that he is more different and unique from everyone else than he actually is. . . and that other people find each other similarly unknowable.
Are the standards your character holds other people to higher, lower, or equal to the standards they hold themselves to? Do they notice that?
Omega holds others to an equal standard as he does himself. . . the problem being that he's holding organic people up to robot standards. He expects everyone to have superhuman pain tolerance, catastrophic destructive capabilities, and utter determination to accomplish the mission, because he'd expect no less of himself.
Is this still incredibly self-centered and a dick move? YES. Is this toxic and harmful to both himself and everyone around him? Absolutely. Does he realize that he's doing this? Not really! He's not reflective enough to realize that he bases his standard of competency on his own expectations for himself.
How noticeable is your character? Do they stand out or fade into the background? Is that intentional or innate?
Omega's an absolute standout. Being a sentient war machine tends to do that, but it's also very intentional. He speaks loudly and often. He interjects himself into conversations, providing opinions that were unasked for. He moves with vigor and gusto. The last thing he wants to be is ignored.
What's the first thing they want other people to notice about them? Is that what most people actually usually notice?
He wants other people to see that he's a large, dangerous, competent killing machine, and he will viciously defend this image. This is indeed the first thing people notice due to both his frame and his efforts.
Besides just being more formal in formal settings, do they ever change how they behave around specific people? Is it on purpose? What happens if they're in the room with two of those people at the same time?
When he's around organics that he's used to seeing often, such as the regular GUN grunts, or especially his teammates, he tends to relax the effort of keeping up his reputation. He gets a bit softer, a bit more understanding, though it takes a trained eye to spot the change. It also means that his mischievous streak comes out, and there's nothing he loves more than subverting the expectation that he can't be funny. This is on purpose. In his mind, he's already proved that he's the "Ultimate Robot" to these specific meatbags, and therefore doesn't need to expend as much effort to keep them convinced.
If anyone else is in the room, though, he's back to trying to dominate every social interaction to prove that he's superior.
Does your character wish people perceived them differently than they do? Do they have any qualities they wish got more recognition? Is there anything about your character's background or personality that they try to hide but can't?
He HATES being perceived as nonsentient. However, even that's preferable to being perceived as an "Eggman Robot", a title he can't seem to outrun no matter how hard he tries. The decision to keep his paint job the same red-and-yellow as most other Badniks was not a decision he made lightly; he figures that instead of changing it, he'll simply eliminate all other Eggman robots with the color scheme until he's the only one left, making it so that the colors will be associated with only him.
As for what he'd like to get recognition more often, he'd appreciate being seen as competent for once. He's not blind to the way everyone assumes him to be a liability on missions just because he doesn't do stealth or subtlety.
Does your character come across the way they intend to come across—cool when they're trying to be cool, intimidating when they're trying to be intimidating—or is there a mismatch?
There's a pretty clear match, if only because his goal is to seem brusque and intimidating at all times, even when he's being more caring. The only time there's a mismatch is when he's doing so deliberately for the purpose of humor, and that mismatch will always be "coming off way more intense than he actually means to be".
If someone hated your character for no apparent reason, how would they take it? Would they try to change their minds? Could they live without knowing why?
Omega would wear it as a badge of honor and brag to everyone about it. . . but he'd be absolutely unable to live without knowing why. He wants to make sure you're hating him for the right reason (his personality) and not for the wrong reason (being built by Eggman).
What if someone openly adored your character for no apparent reason? Flattering or uncomfortable?
Finally, someone who appreciates the Ultimate Robot! That person would get 'favorite meatbag' status.

"Shadow Boxing" (Part 1)
This all took place after one of the bigger battles against Eggman. Sonic had disappeared for months on end and we were worried sick about him, but I managed to take over and led us into a decent wave. At least... Before Eggman's drones beat all of us consecutively and painfully. Then a new kid came along and found Sonic, the both of them rescuing everyone. We all gave mountains of praise to the new rookie on the defense force, as well as Sonic of course. However, there was one person that came to me after all of this was over. Shadow the Hedgehog. At first, I wasn't sure why he decided to be up in my personal circle. He's plenty capable and confident in himself. Or so I thought. He admitted to me that he'd like to have more strength in battle to back himself up. So first, I basically kicked his ass in training. Legs, arms, abs... The works. Slowly but surely, he shaped up into a well oiled machine. Shadow was looking rather nice for only recently getting into shape.
I could tell Shadow felt more proud of himself as well. He was showing himself off to anyone that was willing to listen. Girls were swooning over him, but he didn't seem all that interested in women. Or really anyone for that matter. Just interested in showing off his "gains" so to speak. The next time I saw him, I decided to change things up on him. I told Shadow that now we were going to start learning fighting techniques to help in battle and to properly utilize the muscles he has now. He looked genuinely excited to learn. First thing I did was get into my usual battle stance. Left foot forward, fists raised to just around my chest.
"Put your more dominant foot forward. Make sure your fists are balled up. You'll be hitting with either side of your fist or even your arms. Mostly blocking with those arms though" I say, playfully hitting his shoulder. "You try now" I say, getting back into my stance. Shadow got into his stance.
"Like this? I usually start running with my right foot" Shadow replied, looking at me with those piercing red eyes of his.
His stance seemed perfectly fine, until I realized one of his legs was a little straight. "Don't keep your legs like that. Otherwise you may pass out" I said, looking at his left leg. Shadow immediately bent it just slightly. I decided to bring on a little help for today's lesson, so I called him in. It was Sonic, and he looked at Shadow with a smirk on his face. Sonic had also been training a bit, but more on his own. The two managed to get a decent fight in. Shadow definitely landed more than his fair share of punches, but was still rather tired out looking. After the fight with Sonic, I gave Shadow some water and breathing room for him to relax. I told him he did well, but we needed to work more on his endurance as well. Sonic suggested he could run laps around the forest. I shook my head and stated that I meant more so combat related endurance. I came back with a punching bag to attach to a tree close by.
I put the punching bag up for Shadow and told him to attack the bag as quickly and strongly as he could. As I thought... After at least 5 minutes, he was losing a bit of energy. I went over to him and pat him on the back. "We gotta work on that endurance a bit more, Bud. At least before you get into serious fighting" I remarked, giving him more water. Shadow sat down on a rock for a moment and watched me go ham on the bag. I maybe attacked it for 10 minutes before getting tired. I think he was noting my technique as well, as he nodded his head while watching me land more powerful punches. Shadow insisted that we end the lesson here for today, then went home.
Two more days passed, and then I got a call from Shadow. I met him in the same spot we usually go to: The empty field near Sonic's house. I brought some weights, the punching bag, and a mat for him to do some push ups on. Shadow was already there, punching the air a bit. I watched him for a few moments... This was oddly cute. Once he caught me watching, Shadow teased me a bit. "Why you watching? Come enjoy the show in person" he said with a chuckle. I went closer to him and laid everything out. First, push-ups. I told Shadow to do as many as he could in two minutes. He agreed, stretching a bit first. Then he got down to the ground and began doing push-ups.
W-Why was I watching Shadow's muscles flex so much as he did more push-ups? I guess I was getting a bit flustered because Shadow saw my face and giggled a bit. He winked at me, flexing them some more. I covered my face with my hand and looked away for a moment, still timing him. Two minutes had passed... 70 pushups. Not bad at all! I excitedly told him that. Shadow smiled, seeming satisfied with himself. Then I gave him some free-weights and demonstrated a proper curl technique. "Do at least 50 curls for each arm. We'll start you on a 10 pound weight" I instructed. Shadow nodded, stretching some more before diving into it. He did about 30 curls before needing to rest for a moment. Then 20 more on the left arm. I commended him for the effort. Shadow started curling on the right arm, to yield the same results. He was eyeballing the punching bag, asking me how much he needed to bust his ass today before getting into the "fun fighting part". I chuckled.
"I wanna see how long you last each time. 2 days ago, you lasted about 5 minutes with the punching bag. If you kept up with training during those 2 days, we'll see how long you last now" I stated matter of factly.
"Alright, alright. Set me up then" Shadow demanded playfully.
I set up the bag for him and watched him once more. I kept track of how long he lasted with the stopwatch I had. Definitely a little better this time! 8 whole minutes. I pat Shadow on the back and gave him some water. Shadow stretched a bit more, looking straight at me. His gaze looked like it was challenging me. I smirked at him, asking if that was what he really wanted. Shadow nodded, getting into his fighting stance. The two of us fought each other for quite some time. He had definitely become my equal in terms of strength, but he lasted a little less than me. Eventually, I had him pinned down. Shadow blushed a little as I tightly gripped his wrists. He looked like he was struggling to escape, but he eventually managed to kick me off. He teased me once more.
"Why are you so keen on pinning me down, hm? Find something you enjoy in it?" Shadow remarked, giggling.
"H-Hey! I'm doing it for training purposes!" I reply, clearly a bit flustered.
"Right" he teased, winking at me with his tongue slightly out... Damn did he look kinda cute doing that. Wait, what was I thinking-?! I needed to focus on training him. I told him to take a rest, then we'd go back to hitting the bag again. Shadow laid down on the grass and prompted me to join him. I laid next to him and looked up at the clouds above. Shadow asked me if I was "doing okay" because I seemed so flustered out of nowhere. I insisted that I was and that I was just thinking about something else. Shadow nodded and traced the shapes of the clouds with his fingers. He seemed content to just lay there and watch the clouds with me... I did too. My heart was beating quicker and quicker as I saw Shadow just being playfully cute. Even humming a little as he kept tracing shapes in the sky. How and why was he being so damn precious right now... Why was my instinct holding me back from cuddling up to him?
FOCUS. I need to get back to training with him. I got up and waited for Shadow to follow suit. We got to the punching bag and I set him up again. He definitely lasted longer than any time I've done this with him. A full 11 minutes. I pat Shadow on the back and congratulated him, asking him if that's where he'd like to end on for today. Shadow nodded and looked to me with a rather innocent gaze. He asked me if I was doing anything after this. I shook my head and insisted that I needed to get back to the Master Emerald now. Shadow sighed and looked away. Almost as if that wasn't the response he was looking for. I reluctantly told him he could come with me to Angel Island if he wanted. He immediately seemed happy to come along. He even teleported us to the island, only to see Rouge gazing at the emerald. Shadow and I shooed her away, then I returned to my perch on it. Shadow followed suit, sitting on the steps with me. After a while, he asked if it was okay for him to put on some music. I agreed, curious as to what his playlist could offer.
Shadow smiled a little, his ear twitching a bit. Heh... Cute. He put on his "Special Playlist". It sounded like some interesting background music, as both of us just laid around and looked up at the sky for a few moments. Shadow asked me why I still take care of and watch over this emerald anyway. "Obligation?" he asked. I nodded. "About right. I'm the last of my kind, so I want to keep this artifact protected and sacred to us" I replied. Shadow seemed satisfied with that, sitting up and looking at the emerald itself.
"It's certainly saved our skins more than once. Probably saved the echidnas a few times over before you were around. I bet being the last echidna makes you feel special, huh" Shadow said, smiling a little.
"Sometimes. But then I'm reminded of the steady wiping out of my kind. And how one echidna trapped herself in the emerald to keep peace from 'Chaos'" I replied, looking a bit forlorn, thinking of Tikal.
"Well... You're certainly special to me. You've helped me so much. Thank you" Shadow remarked, his voice sounding genuine and sweet.
That sort of warmed my heart a little. I smiled softly. "You're welcome" I replied warmly. He and I talked for a little while, mostly about his days on the ARK and mine with treasure hunting. Shadow then said he had to leave, but that he'd see me in two days. And was looking forward to it, with a little wink and that tongue again. Damn it, he was being cute and he knew it. Shadow teleported away just as quickly as he could pull that flirty little move. My heartbeat was going as fast as Sonic could run. Shit... I knew who I should talk to about this stuff. I called Amy and asked her if she could meet me on Angel Island. She asked why and I sighed. "It's about a guy-" I said, but she cut me off. "I'll be right there" she gleefully exclaimed, hanging up the call. I didn't even tell her who it was, but I had a feeling she could figure it out. Woman's intuition and all that. I just waited for her to show up so I could talk out all these feelings I had inside.

Do you like the way Pontaff wrote Eggman?
Yes, I do. In fact, I already loved their writing for Eggman specifically years before IDW and the comic only solidified my love for it forever and proved that it wasn't just nostalgia talking, there were things they handled well and especially so much better than IDW when it came to their understanding of Eggman's character. (My first game was also long before the modern era with Heroes, so people can't say I'm biased out of them being my introduction to the series' writing or anything. In fact, they didn't even write any of my top five Sonic games.) Pontaff's writing did have flaws in other areas but I don't care to speak for the rest of it as an Eggman focused blog. But when it comes to Eggman himself, I truly feel that their writing for him was spot on all the way through and it was a blast.
All the dialogue felt like himself, he had the strongest portrayal and consistency, he had entertaining and clever humor (with all the Colors PAs being one of the prime examples but even the other jokes land with me), and he still had great evil and threatening moments and plans that people overlook just because of the humor and lighter hearted tone of the games of that era overall. Even when he was betrayed by the D6, it wasn't a lazy way to write him off, instead he got even more focus as he still found his way after he lost everything taken away and was still the final boss. That's how you handle betrayal and it was the only time they wrote it in a main game and he was always the main and respected bad guy. Then they gave us even better with Forces with a great example of his evil and success and showed his competence in clever backups, solid plans, and adaption to changes like he always truly could with his genius. Wild that the last story they'd write for shows an understanding of that specifically, while our next writer has shown he doesn't understand it at all and it worries me that he'll ruin it.
The only problem I've had with their portrayal is how they could've done a lot more with him than they did at times and usually the same could be said with the overall plots themselves. Especially in Forces, as his actual personality, dialogue, and actions we did see were fantastic but they should've shown more of the evil and done a lot more with him keeping Sonic captive for 6 months, what it was actually like when he was taking over, treated his role as important as it should've been after accomplishing his dream instead of giving all the screentime to Infinite, gone more in depth with it overall, etc. They had great ideas but the execution was weaker and the potential of the concepts weren't explored to the extent they should be.
And while I adore all the humor with Eggman that people complain about and will always defend it, they could've done with not removing/having less humor but instead also adding some more focus on the evil and seriousness along with it. He was still very much evil in games where people claim he's nothing but a joke, he's never been nothing but one in any modern game, he still has his fucked up plans and actions and hasn't become less evil just because they don't focus and show it right in your face as much anymore (though there are still a lot of moments even then but people overlook those too). But I like to imagine that if they had put more focus on it, it would help more realize that. Also just because the ideas were so cool and I wanted to see them fully explored, instead of feeling like there was a lot of wasted potential after.
But that's literally it when it comes to their handling of Eggman. I don't have anything bad to say about what we actually did get to see Eggman doing in the stories they wrote because I genuinely love it. It was inspiring to me for many writings, headcanons, fics, analysis, theories, etc, of my own because their stuff felt true, reliable, and in character for Eggman all the way through. I'm going to miss Pontaff Eggman a lot and I'd be much less nervous if they were still writing for Frontiers than knowing that Ian Flynn is. Pontaff Eggman had the balance of funny and evil and fucked up that I love in Eggman, he was smart and competent, and no moment of his felt OOC. It only could've gotten better if they'd just had more moments where they explore certain story concepts to the full extent they could have. And done more with other characters and maybe changed a few things there but again, I only speak for their Eggman writing and overall stories.

HEHEHEHEHEHEHE I'm feeling a bit devious 😈
Can I ask for a Peter Parker x Gender neutral Reader ANGSTY fanfic please? Like no fluff, PURE ANGST. Taking place in Far From Home!
~ Okay so imma rambling a bit about the flashbacks before talking about the present ~
Peter and Reader are besties since kids, and they had a huge crush on him (Why the word Had instead of Have? Let me tell ya...)
In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Reader knew about him being Spider-Man and his crush towards Liz Allan and decided to support Peter like that's what besties do.
"Oh, you have a crush on Liz? Pftttt, okay okay, i get it. You should start a conversation with her first."
"She will share the same feelings for you, don't worry."
"You will be a great hero, I'm sure of it!"... blah blah blah, basically his number two emotional support (Aunt May is forever number one 💪😎)
But it was tiring, to deal with emotions of sadness and jealousy over the fact Peter will never reciprocate feelings as Reader. Like man don't you hate it when your crush bestie always left you behind for another girl? And how you two didn't spend times together anymore like both used to... Atleast Ned and MJ were there with Reader to comfort them, especially during the Homecoming party cuz I swear Reader's about to cry back there 😭
~ Skips Infinity War since Reader alsot got snapped by Thanos, now we're getting into the main part!
Now in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Reader finally got rid of their crush for Peter, BUT BUT BUT, at the same time Peter finally develops feelings for them (HOLY SH1T 😱) and he wants to confess to Reader. With the help of MJ and Ned, Peter's plan is: "I'm gonna show them how much I love them and give this present for them for confession during the school trip to Europe!"
But man, the trip didn't went well, yknow why... At the end, Peter confesses to Reader along with giving the present, inside is their favorite item. Reader responds:
"I'm sorry Peter, I can't return your feelings... I've already moved on."
THE WORD "MOVED ON"??? THE REALIZATION HITS HIM... READER USED TO HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM? AND HE WAS SO OBLIVIOUS ABOUT IT? PETER'S HEART GONNA BREAK RIGHT ON THE SPOT 😭
No matter how much Peter tries to convince Reader, he still got rejected by them... that's when their friendship fell apart :(((
Peter, you're too slow! (In Sonic's voice)
Sorry if for making you reading this long a$$ request! I just want to get this out of my system. And ofc, if you dont feel like doing this, it's okay! No forces and no rushes. I hope you've an epic day/night!
Im sorry but how LONG did this sat in my inbox???? I don't- wait I should really check it more often 😭😭😭😭 I'm really sorry bestie (and if its okay with you I will make this a drabble ✨✨)

THE PLANETS AND THE FATES AND ALL THE STARS ALIGN 🪐
Read on AO3 // Read on Wattpad // Playlist // Buy me a cup of tea ☕
Chapter Two:
Yaz squares her shoulders. She rushed to land the TARDIS here, placing all her faith in her inadequate skills to fly it 106 years into the past and halfway across Earth, but now she has arrived, she hesitates. The Master had complete confidence in his plan. What if she is strolling into the same trap the Doctor succumbed to?
Lifting her chin, she grabs the door handle. She's being ridiculous. The Doctor has never thought twice about walking into danger to save Yaz, so it's about time she returns the favour.
The door creaks as it opens. Yaz pauses to collect herself before stepping into the light, her shoes squeaking on the bone-white marble floor. The Winter Palace has been abandoned, except for two figures lying still on the bottom of glass cages. Yaz glances up at the foreign contraption above their heads; it definitely isn't from this period, but if it's a booby trap, it's unlike any she has ever encountered.
"Yasmin," the Doctor hisses.
Yaz balks at the use of her full name, her gaze snapping to her friend. She's crumpled on the floor, one hand pressed against the glass. "Are you alright? How do I get you out of here?"
She looks up at Yaz, her eyes desperate and crocodile-green in the harsh light. "The Master—"
"It's alright," Yaz shushes, her eyes flicking over to the twin container while she rummages around in her jacket pocket for the sonic. "I think he's out cold for now, but we should get you out of here before he wakes up."
"Good plan." The Doctor smiles through the glass, and Yaz matches the expression, despite the circumstances.
Yaz uses the sonic to unlock the door, pulling it open and leaning down to offer the Doctor her hand. Her palm is clammy in Yaz's solid grip as she hauls her to her feet.
"Are you alright?" she asks again, when the Doctor wavers on her feet and has to rest her shoulder on the glass for support. "I know we're in a bit of a rush, but... what did he do to you?"
The Doctor turns so her back is leaning against the cell, burying her face in her hands for a few seconds. She drags them down her face, letting out a deep sigh, before looking over at the Master's unconscious form.
"He tried to force me to regenerate into him," she says, and Yaz has never heard her voice so bitter. "But the Daleks and CyberMasters turned on him — tampered with the machine and left before he could wake up."
"Forced regeneration..." Yaz says, wringing her hands together. The Master wanted to take her Doctor away from her forever, and he would have succeeded if it weren't for two of the most dangerous species in the universe.
"I'm fine," the Doctor says, reaching over to squeeze Yaz's hand. "Just a bit wobbly."
"So the Daleks and Cybermen just... left?"
The Doctor doesn't let go of Yaz's hand. "They despise each other. They're probably competing to see who can take over the planet faster."
"The volcanoes." Yaz licks her cracked lips, trying to finish her thought. It's hard to concentrate with the Doctor's hand in hers.
"Come on," the Doctor says, leading her towards the TARDIS. "Loads to do."
Yaz follows her through the doors without remembering to look back. The way space unfolds behind those unassuming wooden doors never fails to make her heart race. "The Daleks in Bolivia — they were trying to set off the volcano, I think."
"Not just one," the Doctor corrects, dropping Yaz's hand and striding towards the console. "All of them." She hesitates for a second when she spots Yaz's post-it notes, an amused smile creeping onto her lips.
Before Yaz can explain, the TARDIS screen lights up with a yellow-tinged hologram. "This is Inston-Vee Vinder saying if you need my help... I could certainly do with yours."
"Vinder!" Yaz exclaims, stepping closer to the console so she can see his face more clearly. "I didn't think we'd see him again."
The Doctor studies the hologram for a minute before locking the TARDIS onto his coordinates. "Bit of a coincidence. How'd he end up on the Master's Death Star?"
"Let's go ask him," Yaz says, grinning. With Vinder added to the extended fam, the Daleks and Cybermen don't stand a chance.
"Why don't we split up?" the Doctor suggests. "If we pick up Tegan and Ace, then we can tackle both problems at once."
"Good idea." As long as Yaz is paired with the Doctor, she doesn't care what the plan is. "What about the Master? We can't leave him there."
The TARDIS monitor lights up in answer. It takes both of them a few seconds to realise what it is showing them.
"A bunker." The Doctor's voice is grave. "Somewhere safe to store him until we can figure out what to do with him. We can pick him up once we're done."
"He escaped the UNIT one," Yaz says. From the handful of times their paths have crossed, he's proven to be a slippery bugger. "How do you know it will work this time?"
The Doctor's eyes skim over the Gallifreyan on the screen, her face tight. "Because it has worked before."

If/when IDW goes under... what then? I am quite fond of there being something like a comic or TV show with Sonic to fill up the time between games somewhat, but with what we have rn (IDW and Prime) that desire is not getting filled very in-character-ly. I've seen some interest in a Sonic manga, but do you think SEGA/potential manga producers would be eager to have the same group of current IDW writers and artists working on it? Or would they see a link between that group and IDW going under and stick to their own people? Then again, Ian Flynn is getting involved with more and more stuff, so it might be hard for SEGA to really let him go...
I remember this uncertainty from when Archie got cancelled, and it wasn't fun in the slightest :/ Guess we'll know what's going on with IDW if suddenly issues are not being released for months without a single heads-up? I'm curious about what the future holds after that, but also a bit apprehensive.
I don't know. Flynn will keep working for SEGA in some way, I suppose, but as for comics, who knows? Would they try for a third Western comic?
I think a manga makes the most sense, honestly, and I don't understand why the only Sonic mangas we got were obscure silly spinoffs. I doubt it would be that unpopular, both in Japan and in the West! Especially now that it looks like SEGA is pushing for Sonic to be more popular in his birth country. (and no, I doubt a manga would have Western people working on it, so Flynn & co. wouldn't be involved in case.)
As for a show, it depends on how Prime goes - I'm not watching nor following it, but it doesn't look like Netflix is treating it well. I liked Boom, but it was quickly moved to the 6AM slot so no wonder it failed (it being tied to the Boom games sure didn't help lol). I'm still very annoyed that Sonic adaptation just refuse to be compliant to the games, and instead insist on creating their own wild AU - IDW is the closest thing to what I always wanted ever since I discovered Sonic X, but of course it became what it became.
It is very possible, for me, that IDW will soon go under, as it was essentially the "filler" between Forces and Frontiers: that spot will be taken by Prime, and perhaps the third movie. If Prime fails, it could be replaced by the Movie Knuckles series. After that... I don't know. I would like a manga to become the main spin-off, but so far there aren't signs of it becoming reality.
