Summary: It was obvious that you were (G)I-DLE's precious baby that they cared about a lot so it wasn't a surprise when they always had an eye on you, especially to keep you away from guys.

3rd's POV

The award shows were always an interesting experience for you. Not only you were able to watch your other fellow artists perform on stage, you had a chance to win some awards and thank your fans but also you could talk and make new friends there. The more stressful side of them were definitely stares from your older members, especially when you interacted with male idols.

In their eyes no one was deserving of you, every idol who approached you was always not good enough in their eyes and the fact that they thought you were too young to date didn't helped. You never understood that, being only one year younger that Shuhua you thought that you were old enough to make your own decisions about dating but not in your members eyes.

"Guys where is Y/N?" Soyeon looked around not being able to find you until Minnie pointed at in the direction of Stray Kids table that was close to theirs. Somehow you managed to sneak from them and to Stray Kids's table and now you were having fun singing with them. Soyeon also noticed how close Hyunjin seemed to be to you and she didn't liked that but unfortunately she couldn't do much from her position so she signaled to Yuqi to join you and the guys and keep an eye on you.

Yuqi did as she was told and soon she was next to you also singing to cover up the way she pulled you a little away from Hyunjin who seemed a little disappointed. After some time Hyunjin tried to hold your hand under the table but Yuqi did it before him causing you to give her a look that she pretended not to notice. You looked between her and your other members who kept glancing your way and it annoyed you. You loved them but it annoyed you how overprotective they were. You were an adult after all, you could handle yourself.

Soon your group won one of the main awards causing you to walk up to the stage to make a speech. When you were speaking camera showed Hyunjin watching you with a lovestruck expression on his face, noticing the camera he looked down embarrassed as his members laughed, patting his back. You smiled but from the corner of your eye you noticed the glares he got from your members.

After the show you made your members sit down as you glared at them "What was all that about?" You asked them, your voice clearly showing how serious you were. None of them looked you in the eye because no matter how much they denied it, you scared them sometimes. Taking initiative of talking for them Soyeon spoke up "We tried to save you from all the dating rumors but it's probably too late now" You looked at her with an expression that screamed that's a bullshit "We all know it wasn't that. You guys just wanted to prevent me from getting his number. Listen I love you guys but I'm an adult, I know what I'm doing. You need to trust me more when it came to dating" They all looked down as the guilt sank in, they knew you were right but they couldn't help it sometimes. You were always their baby and it was hard getting used to you being an adult.

With a smirk you turned around "Fortunately I did got his number" And with that sentence a hell broke loose as the members started groaning and complaining still not fond of the idea of you dating but they had no choice but to trust you.

Doesn't change the fact that if you get hurt, someone else will get hurt even more.

Shunsui Got Yoruichi to Help With Lisa's Captaincy

There's a paragraph in CFYOW vol. 1, after Tokinada leaves Shunsui after handing him a note and trying to upset Nanao, where we get the following:

“I can’t believe you set yourself up to eavesdrop without me noticing. You’ve grown so much! Is this Lisa’s influence?” It was possible that he mentioned Lisa Yadomaru, once an assistant captain and now being eyed as a candidate for the eighth company captainship, to reassure Nanao with thoughts of a familiar face.

CFYOW is supposed to take place six months after TYBW (June 2003), around the start of 2004. So we know Lisa was being considered already then. A summary of WDKALY tells us that:

Orihime currently works as a regular employee of a bread and cake shop called ‘ABCookies’. After her older brother INOUE Sora passed away, she was getting along by receiving assistance with living expenses from a distant relative; but because of the fact that the relative had originally declared that they would only provide assistance up till high school graduation, since the summer of three years prior, Orihime had been searching for a job placement for after graduation. During that time, she was working at the shop part-time, the shop manager who had learnt of her situation insisted that Orihime be fully employed by the company.

WDKALY is happening three years after TYBW, in 2006. But when? Another paragraph:

In one block of that institute, the fourth-year students who had just finished their summer vacations were gathered in the large lecture hall which could feasibly accommodate all graduate students.

Summer vacations usually happen through August, presuming a schedule like Japan. It's either late Summer or the start of Fall. We also learn that:

Ever since KYÔRAKU and Nanao transferred to Squad 1, Nanao has been executing the duties of both captain and vice-captain of squad 8. Six months ago Lisa was finally inaugurated as Squad 8’s new captain, she happily took over the duties of a captain, however she stubbornly refused to handle tasks on behalf of an absent vice-captain, as a result squad 1’s Nanao was handling that share even now.

This means that Lisa became a captain sometime in early 2006, more than two years after she was already under consideration for the role in CFYOW. And then we get told by Yoruichi:

“Like I’ve said, since I’m a genius and all, I don’t know what teaching methods to use towards average people, but I was told to either undertake the responsibilities of guest lecturer once every half a moon, or restore squad 8 by becoming its captain, naturally I decided that I probably had no choice but to take up responsibilities in this place.” If she refused to restore the squad then she would have to deliver a lecture on Hakuda and Hohô to the 5th and 6th year students every other week. That was the proposal handed down to Yoruichi from Commander KYÔRAKU. “We probably can’t afford to leave people as talented as SHIHÔIN-san idle…after all, orders have been sent down to all squads, each squad elects at least one member for academy lecturer.”

We know from earlier in the same scene from Yoruichi that:

“KIRA, this is the first I’m seeing you in half a year, correct? In any case, are you getting along well with ÔTORIBASHI?”

Kira asks how Yoruichi is adapting to teaching, so obviously she only started after she last saw him. Yoruichi took up this academy teaching position at the same time that Lisa became Captain of 8th Division. In other words, sidelining Yoruichi into some other "useful" position was the final hurdle Shunsui had to overcome to be able to promote Lisa into being captain, as he wanted since all the way back in TBTP.

I once assumed Shunsui must have essentially blackmailed Yoruichi, as she more than did her part on the Seireitei's behalf over the prior years (she 'sourced her own replacement' in Soifon, which is the normal condition for 'retiring'; she surrendered her active role in the nobility; and she helped with Tokinada) but as I look at how long it took to get Lisa into the role, and how relatively cushy Yoruichi's job as guest lecturer is, I think it's actually sort of the reverse: she did Shunsui a huge favor, and he owes her.

Wei Wuxian lived with the Jiangs for 2 years. After he came to Gusu as a 16-yro, he charmed/scammed his way into the Jiang manor, won the favour of Jiang Fengmian, the affection of Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng, and waited.  For a long time, no further instructions were given to him from Wen Ruohan. Then, one day, he saw Zhao Zhuliu on the streets of the Capital. Zhao Zhuliu was the head of Wen Ruohan’s intelligence bureau and incidentally, was also Wei Wuxian and Xue Yang’s shifu.  

— “Shifu, does bixia finally have an assignment for me?”  — “He does. Jiang Yanli is set to marry Lan Wangji. You are to find a way to accompany her to Hanguang-fu and get close to him.”  — “Close to him as in...?”  — “Any means necessary. He has a harem already, so you will not be the only one vying for his attention. Do think you can handle it?”  — “Well I don’t know, shifu,” responded WWX coyly. “ Word on the street is that this Hanguang-wang prefers pretty men. His ce-wangfu Jin Ziyan is famous for his handsomeness, and that mianshou Mo Xuanyu he keeps around is a looker too. Do you think I’ve grown pretty enough?” — “You seem very aware of his household, I’m surprised.”  — “Bixia sent me here to observe and learn; I’ve not been idle.”  

Wei Wuxian knew Jiang Yanli was set to marry Lan Wangji before she even knew herself. This was not a coincidence. Originally, three years ago, when Lan Wangji was first choosing members of his harem, Jiang Yanli had been considered, but at the time Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan were already engaged to be wed. Jin Zixuan had promised Jiang Yanli that as soon as he passed the imperial scholarly exam and secured a position for himself in His Majesty’s court based on his own merit and not on the influence of his father Jin-guogong (Duke Jin), that he and Yanli would marry. It was a marriage that his late mother had arranged with her best friend Yu Ziyuan, and both Yanli and Zixuan were amenable to it. However, when Jin Zixuan finally passed the exam and ranked 6th in the national polling, he chose to take a position far away from the capital and left without a word of affirmation regarding the engagement. The position was an important one given to Jin Zixuan by Emperor Lan Xichen himself and so in some ways, it was understandable that he could not refused. After Jin Zixuan left the capital, Jin Guangshan went to his “old friend” Jiang Fengmian and “apologized” profusely on his son’s behalf, spewing all sorts of words about how a young man ought to make his way in this world and such. However, this left the Jiangs in an awkward position. Jiang Yanli was 21 yrs old, already older than any unwed noble lady should be. The Jiangs were angry with this outcome, but given the politics of it, they could not say much...and that was when Lianfang-jun Meng Yao revisited an idea that had been put aside three years ago. — “Hanguang-wang...desires to marry A-Li?” Jiang Fengmian was somewhat flabbergasted. “But...” — Meng Yao smiled, “Jiang-houye*, three years ago I came on behalf of er-di to broker a marriage between our two families, but you and Yu-furen both refused on account of her engagement with Jin-xiao-gongye. But I must say ling’ai* is a fine young woman, eloquent and mild-mannered and would make a fine wangfei* some day.” — “Wangfei? but -” — “Yes, Hanguang-wang did say he would choose his own princess or prince consort, but as you can see, even with Jin Ziyan as he ce-wangfu, Qin-fu’ren and Luo-fu’ren at his side, our prince has not shown any desire for any of them to be his legal spouse. He is still waiting, searching, and who’s to say Jiang-gu’niang is not equal if not better than the lot of them?” 

What the Jiangs didn’t know was that Jin Guangshan was a traitor and had already sold his loyalty to Wen Ruohan, who promised him to make him a fanwang* when Qishan eventually annexed Gusu. JGS was a mole inside Gusu’s government secretly helping to further Wen Ruohan’s agenda. Nevertheless, Wen Ruohan wanted Wei Wuxian to get close to Lan Wangji, because as helpful as Jin Guangshan was, he was never fully trusted by the royal family and did not know their inner workings. Breaking Jiang Yanli’s marriage with Jin Zixuan was just a matter of convenience. Jin Guangshan was not fussed regarding a simple marriage when the reward would be much greater. As per WRH’s instruction, he used his influences in court to maneuver Lan Xichen into giving Jin Zixuan a position far away from the capital, thus removing his son from the dangerous political atmosphere and freeing up Jiang Yanli as a potential concubine for Lan Wangji. Then, Jin Guangshan sat back and allowed Meng Yao to finish the game that he started. Meng Yao was not a willing participant. He loved Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue but Jin Guangshan held the secret to his past and thus a noose around his neck. Everyone in court knew that Lianfang-jun Meng Yao was once a lieutenant in Nie Mingjue’s army and later became his personal secretary. He was known for his wit and silver tongue and the charming dimples on his cheeks whenever he smiled. However, not many knew that Meng Yao was the bastard son of Jin Guangshan and a prostitute. Meng Shi’s hope was that one day her son would be legitimized by his father, but alas her hopes were in vain. A child born to a whore would be condemned to a live in the “jian” caste unless otherwise freed. It was Nie Mingjue who chose to raise Meng Yao above his station and respected him as a person for the first time in his life. When Nie Mingjue and his long-time sweetheart the crown prince Lan Xichen were set to marry, Meng Yao thought his days of freedom would be over. To his surprise, Nie Mingjue opted to bring him back with him from the borderlands where Nie Mingjue’s battalion was stationed and introduce him to court and to Lan Xichen. It seemed almost impossible that Lan Xichen would love him as unapologetically as Nie Mingjue, but somehow he did. Meng Yao became the only concubine person in Lan Xichen’s harem other than Fengjun Nie Mingjue. Request: Shuhua x fem!idol!reader: we all know how clingy and cuddly Miss Shuhua is... how about her dating another idol. Her girlfriend’s group is doing a livestream at an award show while waiting. Shuhua doesn‘t know that and clings to her girlfriend. She basically exposes their relationship by kissing her. Full on fluff!

I promise I’ll stop making Y/N a 6th member of ITZY. I only did it in this one because of the collab IDLE had with ITZY at that one award show and it fit the request 😔

Today was the day of one of your group’s biggest performances. You all also had a collaboration stage with your girlfriend’s group, (G)I-DLE. Rehearsals had already ended and you all had already walked the red carpet. Now was the awkward 90 minute time gap where you all had nothing to do.

Your group decided to share a waiting room with IDLE because it would be more fun that way. You all were already dressed and had makeup and hair done so there was not much to do. “I’m bored let’s start a livestream!” Yuna sat up from the couch, Yuqi and Miyeon joining her.

You watched as your maknae and close friend started the stream. While they did that your group members and IDLE’s did things to busy themselves. Minnie and Lia did vocal warm ups together, Soyeon and Chaeryeong ran through the lyrics while Ryujin helped them with their pronunciation. Soojin and Yeji helped you run through the dance break part of your collaboration choreography. You looked around and saw Shuhua asleep in a chair, you smiled to yourself at how cute she looked.

As time passed you all were still scattered around the large room, girls joining popping their heads in and out of the live. You sat on the couch next to Yuna, not paying much attention until you felt someone sit on your lap. Quickly you noticed it was a very sleepy Shuhua.

You laughed and asked “what are you doin?” She groaned softly and wrapped her arms around your neck, putting her head into the crook of your neck. She was fully, 100% unaware that both of your members were holding a live stream. She also didn’t know that the wall behind couch had a mirror. This being said, everyone who was watching the V-Live could clearly see you two.

You did your best to help her realize she couldn’t shower you with kisses right now. However, when Shuhua is half asleep she is very clueless and very stubborn. Her impulse control completely dissipates. Which is why she kissed you on the lips softly without hesitation right after you told her not to.

The second it happened you froze hoping nobody saw it. Your and her members didn’t notice so maybe nobody else did. But as soon as the comments rolled in you felt their gaze turn to you.

Soojin broke the awkward silence by reading a comment “OMO! Shuhua just kissed Y/N on the lips! Girlfriends!!” Miyeon tried her best to cover it up “she used to do that to all of us...It’s her way of showing affection. Don’t be that way.” Shuhua spoke sleepily, but loud enough to be heard “Y/N is my girlfriend though.”

By all 11 of you didn’t know what to do, staring at the camera with wide eyes like you had all seen ghosts. There was a moment of silence before Yuqi, Yeji, Soyeon, and Minnie all ran to the phone to turn off the livestream before Shuhua could expose anything else without realizing it.

You shook Shuhua lightly and told her “you know you just outed the both of us right?” She mumbled “I did? so everyone knows now?” You hummed “mmhmm...yeah...everyone knows now.” She smiled “now everyone knows i’m with the most beautiful girl in the world.” She kissed you again before going back to sleep in your arms. It's not just that she continues to claim the rank. She still holds the rank. This is why Soifon, like Yamamoto toward Shunsui and Jūshirō, is so "hardcore" about punishing Yoruichi in their fight, although that's also to do with a grudge and so on.
