Has anyone addressed the fact that laszlo and nadja had matching hair highlights AGAIN in the finale but this time they were blue

#destiel was a hellish 12 years (and after apparently) tortuous social experiment #nick and jess were a slowburn that the writers didn't always do great with #they got together in s3 and promptly broke up in s3 (for a really stupid reason)#and nandermo got the absolute high of the end of season 3 before Guillermo got shipped off #which i'm not saying its because they don't know what to do if they get together. but i'm also not not saying that #and then subsequently its been a hardcore will they won't they that's just kinda. idk #anyway all this being said is my prediction is nandermo goes canon very end of s6 #and the show “ends” but the cast convinces the network to do a final sendoff season thats half as long and kinda sucks #and also doesn't show progession of the ship at all #apollo do NOT interact #this turned into me being salty about Nick and Jess im sorry #wwdits spoilers #wwdits

I am so curious about the energy vampire life cycle. Because i know people have made jokes about kids, babies, and angsty teens being the most energy-sucking creatures but it doesnt seem like baby colin robinson understands what he's doing? his eyes arent doing the glowy thing that previously alive colin robinson's would do. he just seems to genuinely want to share his interests with his parental figures.

I wonder if energy vampires grow up quickly until they reach an age where they achieve Maximum Annoyance. And then they develop their powers and stop aging, at least appearance-wise. I don't know, it would be cool though. I'm just so into the colin robinson plot

dtamhd and the reaction to it to me is a perfect example of why i tend to stay away from speculation and fan theories, cause my experience with season 4 of wwdits and now this is that everyone makes all these great compelling theories and gets all excited, then the actual episodes are fine and good and going in an interesting direction that i like but that isnt what the fandom was expecting/hoping for, and that creates this air of disappointment with the actual show that i really dont like being around. i prefer to watch then make little fantasies of what could have happened, or just analyses whats there

is it just me or does anyone else ever think about the hit queer media will take because of how quick people are to call things queerbait?

tl;dr: there's something so good about a slowburn that we won't get with queer media if don't allow these relationships to develop slowly, rather than fast so that you as a writer don't get accused of queerbaiting.

of course, i'm not saying queerbait doesn't happen. we do see it frequently. this is why i think people are too quick when it comes to calling things queerbait, because a lot of people have experienced it so much they're traumatized by it in a way. it's just there are a lot of things that aren't queerbait too.

my perspective here is that a lot of my favorite ships took 5-7 seasons to get together. and those ships are SO GOOD. because you see their relationship develop and they grow as people together before even acknowledging their feelings for each other at times. it's so cool and overall just very human.

i've never had this experience with queer characters because it's always so much faster (and a lot of that comes down to queer, especially sapphic, shows being cancelled). i think a lot of writers do this though because people will accuse them of queerbaiting. i remember hearing that people though ed and stede were queerbait at first. and now i'm seeing this with nandor and guillermo (both canonically queer characters on a show with other canonically queer characters, which i feel immediately disqualifies it as baiting). i'm not the biggest nandermo shipper in the world, but i feel like i could be if this plays out even longer. it's already good and complex because of it taking longer to play out (also, they don't have to end up together at all for it to be a canonically queer relationship btw. the show could end with guillermo being like "i hate you nandor i don't know why i was ever in love with you" or whatever and it would still be good. but that's a topic for another day).

this is all also on top of tv already killing the slowburn by taking such a huge fall from sitcoms having ~25 episodes per season to now like... 10 if you're lucky. so please i beg. don't kill the slowburn even further it's already on life support.

i promise btw that i'm not saying any of this to be mean to anyone that has called things queerbaiting that i said aren't in this post. i understand why people are quick to pull that term; this community is so traumatized as a whole. i just never watched any queer media until i was 20 years old so i've never gone through being queerbaited and my standards are all based on the heterosexual couples i watched on tv.

funnily enough, the reason why i never sought out queer media despite knowing i was queer since i was like 14 was because of knowing that it wouldn't be slow and that it would be too?? on the nose?? if that's the right phrase? our flag means death was the first thing that felt complex enough while still being a comedy, weirdly. then came a league of their own. and that's really all i've watched besides wwdits but like... i'm not watching wwdits bc i'm invested in nandermo so. that's different. idk why i started telling my story abt my relationship w queer media. but yeah. i need depth. not just "we're gay and in love"

Could Nandor have fallen first?

*This has nothing to do with the most recent ep and almost nothing to do with season 4 as a whole, just a quick fyi*

Oh man, Idk why this just now occurred to me, but it's entirely possible that Nandor fell for Guillermo first.

I know that most Nandermo fans are probably inclined to believe that Guillermo fell in love first, but what if it was the other way around? Hear me out.

See, I'm under the impression that Guillermo did not fall in love with Nandor at first sight. Rather, he became infatuated with him because, well, Nandor is tall, attractive, and the first real life vampire Guillermo had ever met. Of course he quit Panera on the spot and jumped at the chance to become his familiar. And I think that infatuation probably lasted a few months. Maybe a year, but that's a bit of a stretch.

It definitely would not have taken long for that infatuation to fade though, and for pure annoyance and frustration to take its place. I mean, c'mon. We all know how much of a whiny, ungrateful pain in the ass Nandor can be. The prospect of one day being turned was probably the only thing keeping Guillermo from quitting during those first few years.

But then, something changed. Idk when exactly (my best guess would be year 4 or 5 maybe??), but somewhere along the line, Guillermo began to actually like Nandor. He started to find his quirks and idiosyncrasies endearing and developed an honest crush that snowballed and snowballed until he had fallen in love without even really realizing it. And we all know how that love morphed into an unbreakable devotion and codependency that Guillermo has actually (somewhat guiltily) acknowledged on camera.

So, Guillermo's journey to falling in love was anything but instantaneous. It was a gradual development that took quite a long time to really blossom.

Nandor, on the other hand, was different, I think.

Despite how emotionally constipated and confused he often is, Nandor has been known to fall fast and hard for people. Take Gail, Meg, and Jan as examples. In all three of those cases, Nandor believed he was in love and wanted to spend eternity with whoever was in his sights at the time. Now of course, all those times, he was jumping into things way too soon and mistaking his surface-level affection for true love, but my point stands. No, he may not always be able to interpret them correctly, but Nandor feels his emotions very intensely. It's an important aspect of his character.

What does this mean in relation to Guillermo, you ask? Well, I'm not saying Nandor fell in love with Guillermo immediately. However, I do think Nandor's journey to falling in love, while similar to Guillermo's (minus the infatuation stage), happened at a much faster rate.

While Guillermo was still in the infatuation stage, Nandor was entering the annoyance stage. As helpful and efficient as Guillermo has always been at his job, I'm sure Nandor became irritated at his constant hovering and worrying, especially during the time Guillermo was most likely putting all his energy towards making a good impression in those first few months. But, Guillermo's constant and consistent presence and dutiful hard work stirred something in Nandor. For the first time in a long time, he felt safer and calmer. As Guillermo moved on to being mostly annoyed with his master, Nandor began to (secretly) truly appreciate his service and enjoy his company every now and then.

By the time Guillermo was starting to fall in love, Nandor had already been there for a while without having even a tiny notion about his own feelings (because, as we all know, the poor guy has the emotional intelligence and maturity of a rock). Nandor's dark, lonely, bitter world had shifted into a much happier, protected, and comfortable place, but his brain didn't make the crucial connection to see that Guillermo was the reason for that change.

Subconsciously, Nandor went from light fondness to completely head over heels faster than Guillermo could come to terms with having a serious crush. And the dumbass (affectionate) didn't recognize the shift in his own feelings as it was happening because I don't think he has ever felt such deep, genuine love for anyone before. Every other time he thought he had "found love," even during his human life, it was only ever surface-level. So really, can you blame the guy for being unable to pinpoint his feelings about Guillermo when it's such a new (and scary) emotional experience for him?

Nandor's heart runs a million miles a minute, but his brain runs a couple years behind the present, so it takes him a while to process things. Luckily, season 4 has shown him to be more emotionally open than he's ever been, and even tho his brain has only caught up to thinking of Guillermo as his (best) friend and closest companion, it is definitely progress!

He will get there, friends. It's gonna take a little more introspection, but he will realize the extreme feelings he's been having SO MANY OF lately are, in fact, passionate, romantic love for Guillermo.

But anyway, that's how I think Nandor could have potentially fallen in love with Guillermo before Guillermo fully fell in love with Nandor. (Tho Guillermo was obv the first to consciously acknowledge and accept his own feelings.)

Thoughts I’m having as I/We prepare for OFMD S2 inspired by Con’s quote in Vanity Fair saying ‘it “doesn’t follow the expected route”

What is the expected route?! (/gen and /j)

As someone whose watched WWDITS from Season 1 and decided to come back to tumblr after the S3 finale (a time when the first in-show hints of Nandermo happened in what I consider the shows best 2 ep season-opener outside I think this S5 2 ep opener), I have personally learned it’s best to expect nothing from these shows.

And I don’t mean that negatively, I mean as much as I love fanart, fanfiction, meta and fan theories, when I get too into or invested in the plot lines created in our online space I tend to find the actual show a bit duller(?) less concerned with consistent plot lines and character arcs. (Or maybe just less obsessed than we are as the audience vs them as the creator). [[An example for myself was being upset at a lack of any development in S4 from choosing to ship Guillermo and Nadjia of to London at the end of S3, & reading some really fabulous theories of what that would have looked like from other viewers/fans in the year between.]]

I think the main reason for that - to me - is because these shows - OFMD, Good Omens, WWDITS, even Ted Lasso - at the end of the day are comedies. And the meta and ways we analyze and breakdown and hope for what the next season(s) will be are written with so much more drama and seriousness (which I love) than the show actually ever presented itself to have. (Or may have the budget and time for tbh)

[again this is mostly my reading of WWDITS over the years to help me prepare for whatever happens with OFMD this Fall]

Granted I was not into ‘online fandom world’ when SPN or Sherlock were airing (I was a Marvel&Steven Universe teenager) so idk what experiencing SUPERWHOLOCK was like ‘live’/in real time w/ years between seasons. But those were also dramas doing different things (and being less gay) than OURFLAGMEANSGOODOMENSINTHESHADOWS (what a mouth full) so *shrug*

Idk that this ramble has a point, I just had thoughts about making sure to temper my expectations both for myself and for the sake of not “chastising the creators” ala Good Omens* when OFMD S2 starts airing.

I know most of us are just EXTREMELY grateful that another season of this show is real & probably will be happy with ~almost~ anything they decided to do.

*im very aware the folks who didn’t like GOS2 (the ending in particular) & are actively rude about it are a minority btw I’m just using it as an example of expectation vs reality

I'm a neurodivergent artist who talks about gay vampires (wwdits) a lot!

I do have other interests tho like ofmd, good omens, hannibal, re-animator, interview with the vampire, watcher, the band ghost, the world of mr plant, and south park (it's just that wwdits is just what I think about the most)

things I've made:

I've written a few fic before and one can be found on my blog! it's a post season 4 nandermo fic and here's a link if you wanna check it out :)

I made a uquiz a few months ago that basically tells you what you would be if you where in the wwdits universe (a vampire, a familiar. an energy vampire etc)

I have an instagram that I just post my art to and that's really it

things I like to make:

as you can probably gather by now I primarily do pixel art but I also like to doodle/sketch with good old pencil and paper

I make a LOT of kandi (primarily singles) buuut I don't really post it on here (I mean unless someone asks me to I'm more than willing to share)

I kinda write? like I've written fics before and I DO have a bunch of wips but it's kinda hard for me to finish a fic due to the fact that I get distracted easily and the fact that I'm really dyslexic (you have no idea how badly I wanna fist fight the english language in a denny's parking lot at 3am)

oh while it's not a medium or anything but I'd like to mention I LOVE to draw characters from the media I like as pastel bunnies! (tho at this current moment it's primarily wwdits characters I draw) is it weird? yeah but I like to so I'm not stopping anytime soon if you want a rough explanation as to why I made a long post about it

guillermo de la cruz from wwdits (seriously I'm fucking feral for this man he's my top blorbo atm! he has my gender in a chokehold and I relate to him A LOT also harvey guillen is just really fucking hot-)

nandor the relentless also from wwdits (not as crazy about him but like he fascinates me and I love his goofy cringefail vibes... HE'S ALSO REALLY HOT-)

dib from invader zim (while I haven't watched invader zim in a while I still consider dib to be a fav! hell he's my fucking profile pic. he's one of the first ever characters in something I've seen that I've related to)

stede from ofmd (he's a huge fucking mood and I too jump into things head first without any plans whatsoever)

argos from twomp (a new addition to my fav character list since I stumbled upon twomp more recently. idk I just like him like go googly eye man date that murderous plant dude! wow that must sound weird to those who don't know what the world of mr plant is XD. it also might have to do with the fact that he's kinda socially awkward)

mr plant from twomp (another new addition. idfk something about that murderous plant I find oddly relatable? I think it's the fact that he's also socially awkward. arguably more than argos)

herbert west from re-animator (idk I think this autistic man with no care for ethics is neat)

as I've already said I have dyslexia, I possibly have ADHD (never officially diagnosed buuuuut really fucking confident I do and a past therapist said I most likely do), I keep running into situations where I question if I have autism or not so take that as you will, and despite what it may seem I have really REALLY bad social anxiety (well I have overall anxiety too but let's just say there's a reason I spend a lot of time online and not out and about)
