Someone should tell Jeremy Allen White to stop having Carmy stare at Syd like that. I don't know what to tell yall! I really do not. You cannot deny the chemistry. You cannot make me believe they didn't purposefully write the MOLLY GORDON (such a good actress not in this though lmao) as a cardboard cutout manic pixie dream of a girlfriend for Carmy. You cannot tell me Carmy and Claire are any sort of endgame just because they were each others childhood crushes. They wrote an ER nurse as if she bakes cookies all day. Carmy thought of Syd while having a panic attack because the thought of her brought him back down. Are you serious? Carmy has a sex scene in the same episode him and Syd are underneath a table just talking and there is more chemistry in that scene- I'm losing my mind. The choreography during the one take table scene is more gentle and romantic than what we saw with him and Claire in that bed- I'm LOSING IT!
I've just seen a lot of tweets and posts that are like "no they need to be platonic. go to netflix for ships like this not the bear" and I'm like huh? Talk to Jeremy Allen White and Ayo then. The little touches on her back he does for NO REASON. Tell them to tone it down cause I'M certainly not seeing anything that isn't there. Is it late again for me? I don't care. You are getting another Nimona post. The only difference is that I'm formatting it properly since I'm more awake than the last couple of times I talked about Nimona.
Went to just go rewatch the demon baby clip that's on YouTube, and I have only just noticed that Nimona really looks like he could be Ballister's son. Nimona has dark hair and dark clothing like he does, which even has a little hoodie, resembling Ballisters cloak. You can even see that Nimona has similar dark circles around his eyes, like Ballister.
Of course, in the natural light like the pic above, you can see that Nimonas skin is lighter and his eyes are still pink.
But when they are in the car, because the window is tinted, his eyes look more brown, and his skin just looks a bit darker, so it looks closer to Ballister's skin tone.
And, let's be real here, if this isn't the most father and child moment of the dad being angry with the kid, especially when they say the most ridiculous shit after something serious happened and there was a long moment of silence on the car ride back home, then idk what is.
The point is, is that Nimona hasn't had a proper family in her life, or even a family period. Nobody has cared and loved her, and Ballister is the first person she can relate to. Whether she's even aware of it or not, Nimona is starting to see him as a father figure and picks a form that could have him be mistaken as Ballister's son, or rather be accepted by Ballister as his kid.
Which, of course, happens by the end of the movie.
Something, something, something, I'm losing my fucking mind and if you haven't lost it either because of this movie it's because you are either lying or you haven't watched it.

you could theoretically read the series in the order 8.5, 9.5, 9 instead of 8.5, 9, 9.5 because books 9 and 9.5 take place parallel to each other but also sophie and keefe never interact between them so hypothetically there should be no difference (and no spoilers either way).
another thing you could theoretically do is alternate between reading books 9 and 9.5. a chapter here, a chapter there. it would be like reading a longer version of unlocked, with the povs alternating between sophie and keefe.
in fact, in theory, there could be a possibility of even less spoilers if you read it 8.5, 9.5, 9. for example, if vespera makes an appearance in unraveled, and you didn't know she would die yet, it could be a really cool way to see her last minute and have an extra layer about her before her death. whereas if vespera makes an appearance in unraveled and you already know she's going to die, it feels a little more empty. not completely meaningless, but like. kinda empty. like if vespera hints at a larger plan or something in unraveled and you didn't know she was going to die, you'd be super excited to see this plan shake out, but now that we know she's going to die something like that wouldn't hit as hard.

okay, to be clear, I don’t watch a single Watcher production so I really have no emotional investment in this but objectively it seems clinically insane for people to talk about like… how much money those people have and where they get it, what their revenue streams are and what they “owe” their fans in regards to free content. I don’t understand how anyone who’s upset has a leg to stand on with this. like, at all.
if they want their content behind a paywall, they’re entitled to make that choice as much as people are entitled to, yknow, not pay them? like I’m sorry if it’s personally disappointing to lose access to some of your favorite content but if you love it THAT much, isn’t it worth paying for? I mean, the fuck? lmao
just because you’re used to receiving art for free doesn’t mean it’s some diabolical act and heinous betrayal for the artist to suddenly start asking for people to exchange access to that art for money. like, that in and of itself is incredibly reasonable and is, again, their prerogative. how much money they make and how they make it is like… literally nobody’s business? and doesn’t have anything to do with anything?
I know it’s easy for me to have a take on this that isn’t influenced by emotion because again, I don’t watch them. but there is something sooo creepily parasocial and ludicrous to see people discussing the finances of total strangers and acting like they should be making business decisions based on peoples’ feelings lmfao. like, okay, don’t pay the six bucks a month then! guess you don’t like the content THAT much!!! you’ll live, and their new business model will either succeed or fail, and that’ll be that. it’s really that simple.
