javier slowly moving into lloyd's room, one pillow and forgotten shirt at a time, and lloyd not noticing it until he realizes it's been a couple months since javier has slept anywhere that wasn't lloyd's bed

he is in fact the last person to notice this

marbella and arcos thought they were trying to be discreet and didn't want to rush them on announcing their courtship. all the servants thought it was about time, as sir asrahan slept in master lloyd's room every night anyway and it was getting a bit pitiful to watch him do the walk of shame every morning even if he did manage to make it look classy. emily has been delivering both of their clean laundry directly to lloyd's room for weeks now, it made little sense to separate it and do two trips when she was gonna end up picking most of it from the young master's room anyway.

in javier's defense, while he did start to subtly leave more and more things in lloyd's room, (justifying it to himself by reasoning something could happen to lloyd while he was off picking and dropping stuff from his room he was gonna use every day anyway so really it just made sense to leave in lloyd's room permanently-), he didn't intent to completely abandon his own room and he genuinely thought they were on the same page when lloyd told him to just climb on the bed already, my back hurts just looking at you, i promise i don't kick that much

there really are just so many things someone could possibly mean when they invite you to share a bed with them after all, right? and if lloyd didn't really seem eager to do anything more than just sleep together then that was fine with javier, he would take whatever lloyd was willing to offer. the fact that sometimes they would wake up entangled with one another, having gravitated towards each other through the night, was an added bonus that he was happy to enjoy when it happened but not something he would force or even insist upon.

lloyd did actually offer to share a bed out of completely platonic reasons. because he knows first hand how uncomfortable sleeping on a chair can be and it simply wouldn't do for his knight to be in anything less than top shape over something that can be so easily fixed. (and if he wasn't able to fall asleep for hours the first few nights because the knowledge that javier was so close he could feel his body heat through the blankets and yet so out of his reach in almost all the ways that mattered taunted him mercilessly,,, well no one could prove anything.)

the cuddling was a bit of a curve ball but he was very proud of being able to feign nonchalance and act just as casual about it as javier had despite wanting nothing more than to crawl into a hole out of mortification.

he almost has an apoplexy when he finds out javier thought they were,, something already. he hadn't known anything else besides platonically sharing a bed was even on the table!! and is honestly a bit offended no one thought to mention it to him. he could've been getting railed for weeks now. months even!!! outrageous he demands backpay immediately >:(

Anyway Ed only found the letter Stede wrote him because Stede’s incompetent and threw that bottle filled with his heart and soul straight into an incoming wave so it washed straight back up onto the beach he was literally just standing on and that’s what I love about them <3

I love them so much!, even tough I stopped watching the show a long time ago, and I don't read as many fics of them anymore they have a special place in my stupid little heart and will always come back to them, they have become my comfort ship and are so fun to draw jeje~

ok but imagine some random guy approaching lloyd and javier during a construction project, shyly holding out a love letter, so flustered he's barely able to get any words out and of course both of them think it's for javier, lloyd is already planning on complaining about it the moment the guy leaves, but just as javier is reaching out to accept it, the guy finally composes himself enough to clarify that it was for lloyd actually.

cue both of their brains breaking.

lloyd is incredibly flustered and surprised, because, well, this is the first time that had ever happened to him. but also?? he's like??? really flattered?? and kinda excited??? because it is after all the first time something like this had ever happened to him! and like it's way different to receive an actual love letter from someone than to receive a dozen marriage proposals from greedy would-be-fathers-in-law. so while he's really not looking into getting in a relationship any time soon (too much work to do yet) he accepts the letter and tentatively makes plans for a sort of date maybe?

and meanwhile javier's brain is smoking as he watches everything unfold, feeling like his entire worldview shifted while he wasn't looking and like he's gotta be stabbing something at that moment but not really knowing why?? like of course master lloyd would receive these sort of letters, he had completely changed from the person he used to be, he was a master builder, someone who had changed the history of design and construction on the entire continent, a favorite of the queen, a fair and responsible heir and boss, someone who cared deeply for those under his responsibility, determined and extremely intelligent and (despite his constant teasing) really not that bad looking when he wasn't making demonic faces at the poor doomed souls that had decided to get in his way. it was only natural that people would be interested in him. in fact it was strange that it hadn't happened before. so, pray tell, why did it feel like he was watching a catastrophe unraveling before his very eyes?

there had to be something sketchy going on with the guy obviously, there was no other explanation for why he would feel uneasy watching lloyd reddening as he accepted the letter and then stammering his way into planning a not-quite-date with a complete stranger. master lloyd never acted like that, there had to be black magic involved, what other reason could there possibly be for javier to take an instant and deep dislike for someone they had never met before?? he probably had sinister intentions towards his master and it was therefore javier's duty as lloyd's knight to keep him safe. obviously.
