“Yes, quite. I’m sure he’ll be arriving soon. In the meantime – Gary, what are your thoughts on United’s starting line-up tonight?”

Gary is nodding along to something Kelly is saying when his attention suddenly shifts to something off camera. He rolls his eyes as Jamie comes crashing in, bag slid halfway down his shoulders, seemingly unaware of the producer holding his earpiece who’s trying to get his attention.

“Sorry, love,” he says as he hurries up to Gary, immediately stepping into his personal space. He ducks his head down to press their lips together in a quick greeting before he continues, “there was a crash on the M6 or summat, a whole section of the road was closed off. Bloody nightmare, I’m tellin’ ya.”

As he talks, he doesn’t seem to notice Gary’s wide eyed stare, the blush rising in his cheeks, or Kelly clamping a hand to her mouth while her shoulders shake in laughter.

Gary tries his best to compose himself and turns to the camera with an expression caught between terror and amusement, and he says “well, now that Jamie’s very kindly provided us all with a traffic update I think it’s time for us to hear from our colleagues in the studio.” When the light of the camera turns off, he reaches out to give Jamie a slap round the back of the head and hisses “live television, James, how many years’ve you been doin’ this again?”

“Wha?” Jamie looks over, already surrounded by a small hoard of tech people and a make-up artists trying to get him camera ready as quickly as they can.

“Oh my God,” Gary mutters, pinching his brow. “Jamie, you dolt, you just kissed me in front of our live audience of what – a million people?”

“I never,” Jamie says with an offended glare, far too confident for someone who definitely fucking did.

“Oh my God,” Gary repeats. “You don’t believe me? Check your fucking phone.”

“You don’t even get Sky Sports in America, Philip, how have you already seen it?”

“Tray sent it to me, it’s all over Twitter.”

“Oh, well that’s just great then in’t it?” Gary huffs. At Jamie’s questioning look, he repeats “it’s all over Twitter, apparently.”

For a moment Jamie looks almost proud that he’s a trending topic, but he shuts his expression down when he sees Gary’s glare and turns back to his own phone call (“no, Ma, I –”)

“I just don’t understand why you didn’t tell me, Gaz,” Philip whines down the phone. “I tell you everythin’”

“An’ I keep askin’ you not to tell me everythin’! Isn’t a man entitled to a little privacy?”

Okay before I answer this I need to know if people adding Barry The Manager to headcanon posts is a common enough thing to warrant a disclaimer like that 😂 is there a thriving Barry The Manager community?? Are people out here Barryposting on main??

Anyway, as for the request, I hope this works for you!

Content: negativity/depression/lack of motivation, therapy, medication, nonsexual bdsm as a coping mechanism, general rejection of capitalist ideas of worth

Jack:

He's Mr. Motivation! This is exactly the sort of thing he was made to help with!

He'll become your #1 cheerleader! He'll get you out of bed every day, make you eat three square meals and drink enough water, give you your 5 a day, everything to keep you healthy!

Too much work and no motivation to do it? He'll help you break it down into smaller pieces and do bits at a time until you're all caught up

He won't stand for any sort of negative talk! No "I can't do it" "I'm useless" "I suck," he'll make you replace every negative thought with a positive one!

Seriously, he's basically your personal CBT/DBT coach! He'll get you out of your slump with no judgement or guilt, just love and support

And if there's anything you need to get done that he can help with, he's absolutely jumping at the chance, of course!

Ian:

He gets it. I mean he really gets it. He's felt that way for a lot of his life, and you were the one to help him through it. So, of course he's going to return the favour!

He won't let you forget how amazing you are and all the things you have managed to do

He takes on anything you need him to, helping you get things done or even just spending time with you while you get things done to help keep you motivated

If you think therapy or some sort of medication would help you, either with your executive function or the negative feelings, he'll happily pay for it himself

He's pretty good at balancing up and deciding what things do and don't need to get done, and what corners you can cut while doing things

Generally, he'll help you come up with quick fixes and coping mechanisms until you can get more help

Shaun:

He's on top of everything all the time. It's almost scary how someone can seem like they've not got their shit together at all while still getting everything done

But that means he knows how to help you cram things at the last minute when you've procrastinated them

He's a master at half-assing things so they're just good enough while not taking all of your time and energy. He'll help you come up with all sorts of cheats!

When you get too overwhelmed and shut down, he'll remove you from the situation and help you calm down before letting you even think about all the things you need to do

He's another person who will help you break things into easier to digest pieces, so you can take things at your own pace and get things done

He's so patient and reassuring, reminding you that productivity isn't what defines your worth

Nick:

Some people will use bdsm and d/s dynamics to keep themselves organised and as a coping mechanism for executive function

Nick is very familiar with that sort of thing, so if it would interest you then he's happy to make you check in with him and show proof of the things you do

He will NOT accept any sort of negative talk about yourself. No calling yourself stupid or useless

That doesn't mean you can't vent. In fact, he encourages it! But he'll make you change your language to things like "I feel useless" rather than "I am useless"

He gives you space to let your feelings out and he'll listen to your venting. He'll talk it through with you, reminding you to talk to yourself the way you'd talk to him

Seriously, he'll make you say everything you want to say to yourself to him instead, to make you realise how mean you're being to yourself and how unnecessary it is

Once you've understood that, he'll suggest that you give him advice as if he's the one struggling with these things, and then get you to take your own advice instead

He's incredibly understanding and level-headed about it. He'll make you love and support yourself eventually!

Jean:

Look, there's nothing he can't get done with his money and influence, so you never have to worry about getting enough things done when he's around

He'll take everything off your plate, leave you with nothing to worry about while he makes sure everything gets done

But once your plate is cleared, he'll start focusing on your feelings and lack of motivation. He's not going to just fix things for you, he's going to help heal you too

If it's therapy you want, he'll happily pay for it. If you need money or need him to buy you things that'll help you be productive, he'll do that too

He's not got many of his own suggestions about how to fix it since he's always been almost too motivated and struggles to turn off work-mode, but he'll try his best

His whole outlook on life is so different from a human's. Productivity isn't a measure of worth, and he's one of the lucky ones who realises that

He makes you set aside anything that isn't 100% necessary to do, and instead makes you connect with the world around you and realise you matter just because you exist

Once you feel recharged and ready to conquer the important things, he helps you with them. But he's always there to remind you to just ignore the stuff that doesn't matter

Seriously, he'll change your entire world view if you let him. He'll remind you of what it means to be alive

SONAMY ongoing evolution

I've been playing Sonic frontiers and I watched Sonic prime and I read the IDW comics... Omg where's do I start???

Sonic frontiers is just a work of art in general, but the sonamy inside is just beautifully portrayed, I can say that Ian Flynn totally ships them 😌😌. I'm just so utterly happy how things had changed even if it took so many years

Sonic changed a lot his perception of Amy! 🥲🥲🥲 Also the detail of the umbrella line, remember that sonic was created in Japan, say fellow anime fans what does usually means when two characters share an umbrella? What does it mean when students in Japan draw an umbrella in the blackboard with two names written under it? It is clear that Ian Flynn totally knows the meaning and the MUSIC! Seriously those scenarios with Amy and that music felt like it came right out of a shojo anime😖😖😖💗💗

But also the feels... THE FUCKING FEELS!! The way Amy is kind of too calm with her situation but Sonic is just so worried and you could tell how worried he was even if he tried to play it cool... His expressions girl... Look at him with his cute ears dropped 🥲🥲🥲 Guys this game fed us good stuff... We shippers finally got what we had always wanted.

Next topic: Sonic Prime.

So I'm a bit conflicted, cause i only liked one of Amy's different designs and that was Thorn Rose, I'm obsessed with her hair but dude Rusty Rose? That could have been better... Also why Rusty Rose and not Metal Rose? Cyborg Rose? Badnik Rose? Mecha Rose? Robot Rose? Rusty sounds a bit degrading... It is because she was made like that by the Egg council? Pff also her robot appearance is just so ugly! What with that eye? But I love the dark concept and I love her SASS 🤣🤣🤣🤣Anyway my problem with Rusty Amy and Sonic is that it feels like the situation is not treated nearly as serious as Nine situation and boy ok you are a hurt loner with bully victim issues but Amy is basically dead, like there's no flesh or organs in her, she literally has a Birdy as a source of life and what is the outcome of that? Is there another outcome different from Gamma's fate in sonic adventure? Because the second Amy gets back her emotions she will want to release the bird... But more importantly... I can't wait to see Shadow react to her... This is the girl that reminded him of Maria, i really shouldn't but I really have high expectations for what kind of interaction will they have, we really need to see Shadow and Amy interact more let's be honest. As for the other Roses, there's no much to say about Black Rose but with Thorn we got good stuff too:

But I have to say one thing... Ok I know Amy is a strong power character but... It's a bit ridiculous that she could fight off characters like Rouge and Knuckles THAT EASY is just...🙃🙃🙃 Well i loved the part when he tries to reason with her all like: you liked me... A bit? Remember? And she is just so irritated and done with him already 🤣🤣🤣 but then... We also got this:

Actually touch her cheek you COWARD!!😤😤 Also when he was about to smash her and but stopped because he has a flashback of his Amy 😭😭😭, it's curious that Thorn Rose seems to be more impactful in Sonic than Rusty Rose which is ok but is odd plot speaking, after all Rusty is the one in the worst condition and is the one hunting him down, I'll just wait for next season and see what happens

And last but not the least I Shall say something about THIS!!

This illustration hit me right in the kokoro, date with hands holding and Sakura petals... is pure shojo manga energy!! I'm so blessed 😭😭💗💗

And of course the important reminder that Amy is a POWER CHARACTER and that's why she and knuckles make a good POWER SIBLINGS team as I stated in their own post about them... And dear Silver fucking gave her a COLOSSAL hammer 😂😂😂do not mess with the pink hedgehog buddy, and of course Sonic knows exactly how awesome she is as it should be, seriously she is really getting better and better, i really hope we'll see her in the next movie

What do you think would have happened in Prime verse if Tess had not been bitten and she ended up going with Joel and Ellie on the rest of their journey.

Would things have been different in KC, would she have seen the trap ahead of time?

In Jackson would she have been down with Joel giving Ellie to Tommy, would Joel have even been on that mental place to have to do that?

If they went to the university would Joel have still been hurt? If so how would Tess have handled David?

Last what would Tess have done at the hospital in Salt Lake?

Other Fic's have explored Tess living but I feel like your Tess is different and would love to know how she would handle it.

Hello, lovely! Thanks for getting my brain going!

In short, I think very little would have been the same. As the great Ian Malcolm says:

"A butterfly can flap its wings in Peking, and in Central Park you get rain instead of sunshine."

Another person - even Tess - would have changed the entire trajectory of their course. They wouldn't have gone through KC/Pittsburgh and they wouldn't have met Henry and Sam. Joel wouldn't have had the same crisis in Jackson with giving Ellie up. Ellie would not have encountered David. And not because Tess could have influenced or prevented such things, but simply by merit of her being there the entire journey would be different.

And Joel and Ellie would not have bonded the same way had Tess been there.

I love Tess with my full heart but I can't turn my mind to her being there for that journey. The Joel and Ellie relationship is the heart of TLOU and I don't want to mess around with that. With Tess present, Joel would never have had the opportunities to open himself up to Ellie. With Tess as buffer they may have advanced in their relationship somewhat, but it would never have become what it became.

I find the SLC question hard to answer because unless I wrote 100k of Tess bonding with Ellie and saw how it evolved, I can't be sure how she would have responded. 😂 Sorry, I know that sounds like a cop-out, but I know Tess wouldn't have gone around shooting everyone up the way Joel did, but that doesn't mean she would have let them kill Ellie, either. But given everything would have been different she probably would not have been in the same circumstances as Joel (waking up, Ellie already under threat) anyway. Joel runs hot and Tess runs cold, after all.

So the short answer is: I don't know. 😋

1. which character from any media would you like to have as a father? Jack from This is Us. I need to rewatch but from what I remember, I think I'd like him as a dad. (Even though he dies when they're still kids)

2. if money, laws, time, and effort were no object, what animal would you want to have? A big cat. Either a tiger or lion.

3. what is your Chinese takeout order? Usually something very basic like sesame chicken. Usually with lo mein unless I actually like the fried rice from the place.

4. what's your favorite emoji? I’m currently very into 🫠 and 😂

5. would you rather have a library, greenhouse, or home theater in your house? Yes.

6. what childhood tv show do you think of the most fondly? Ohh so many. I loved Arthur, The Berenstain Bears, Reading Rainbow, Liberty Kids... to name a few.

7. what was your tumblr like when you first joined? Oof that was so long ago lol. My Tumblr is basically a synopsis of my obsessions and interests throughout the years but is also full of random shit that I choose to reblog. I think that I'm alot more active and interactive with people now though.

8. what clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself? Eh I don't really pay attention to clothing styles tbh.

9. if you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best? Mmm since I'm currently watching it, Bob's Burgers. Or SpongeBob. With a refresher, I think I'd do pretty good around Hogwarts too. Also maybe BOTW.

10. what is your favorite piece of art? I seriously considered putting a picture of Noel and Cam for this because I think that they are both gorgeous pieces of art but I won't. I don't have an answer to this though so...

11. do you have a water bottle? what does it look like? I have a few actually that I switch out. I usually always have one for home and one that I take and use at work though.

12. what fanfic trope is a quiet fave? Probably slow burn.

13. do you carry a daily bag? what does it look like? what's the weirdest thing in it? A basic crossbody bag. Uhh idk how weird it is but I have crystals in it that I carry with me.

14. if you had to ship Mickey with another Gallagher, who would it be? Probably Carl because they’d be absolutely ridiculous together.

15. what is a fanfic trope you didn't expect to like and then very much did? I don't normally venture outside of my normal tropes (canon compliant, smut, fluff and angst) but I am currently reading LRPD for fic club and I am so glad that I am. It has been SO good so far and I'm upset that I don't have as much free time as I used to have to read more but I'm making my way through it. So alternate first meeting? Slow burn? Whatever trope LRPD is - that.

16. Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian? I don't think so but I think that Mickey has tried. (I just thought of something so fucking sad about Ian being in a downswing and Mickey tries to carry him to bed but he realizes that he can't anymore and he gets mad at himself because he feels helpless. Fuck 😥)

17. who got custody of the killing bat when they sold the house? First person that I thought of was Carl but idk if that fits him anymore since he's a cop now. Ohh but I'll stick to that. It's not really used anymore though he just has it hanging up at the Alibi as more of an ode to his childhood and the Southside.

Also what made you create your MC /OC what was your inspiration?

Eek! I love this idea @peonierose 🤣 So I did a little moodboard, or tried to 🤦🏻‍♀️ I wish I was better at them, LOL! I went with my OC Amanda Bridgerton. *on a side note, I'm still out of town so this was done after long theme park days and nights 😂 So my exhaustion might be shining through with multiple mistakes 🤣

One of the things I love about her is how once she is assured that her love interest returns her feelings, she immediately relaxes and is so giving with her heart and affection. She settles into the role of girlfriend/fiancee/wife with ease and does nothing but look forward to being with the one she loves. Her adoration of her love interest only makes him fall even more in love with her. Her gentleness and humor go a long way to endear her to those she considers hers.

My FC for her is Anne Hathaway. The other two FC's are James Marsden for Maxwell Beaumont and Jon Hamm for Thomas Hunt. Amanda was created at first for Maxwell Beaumont. In my HC, she is a duchess from Cordonia. Her duchy is St Orella. Her parents died at sea when she was twelve and she grew up with Liam, Maxwell, Drake, and Olivia. Her uncle, Nicholas Bridgerton "Uncle Nicky" raised her and was a huge influence on her life as well as her friends' lives. He was warm, fun loving, and wise and died shortly before the events of TRR.

I usually had her either crushing hard on Maxwell or in love with him. In a few older AU's of mine, they always ended up together. Amanda is also a successful author. From the beginning, I had her working with Thomas Hunt and Ryan Summers of Red Carpet Diaries to turn her book about her ancestor into a movie. In the beginning, I had her falling for Ryan Summers when she believed that Maxwell would never see her as anything more than a friend. Then I did something that changed everything 🤣

I decided to write an angsty piece with Maxwell and Amanda. I allowed Thomas Hunt to enter into the picture as a love interest and realized (along with a few others on here) that she was better suited with him than she was with Maxwell.

So the end of Maxwell x Amanda came about and I entered into the Thomas Hunt x Amanda saga.

I must admit writing their love story came about so much easier than when I tried to force her with Maxwell 😂😂😂 Now I can't imagine her with anyone else.

So, regardless of the Love Interest or the AU, Amanda is trying very hard to not be a suitor for Liam because she is desperately in love with either Maxwell or Thomas. And usually, they are working just as hard to make certain she doesn't have to.

Amanda longs to find the one she is meant for, marry, and have a family of her own. With Maxwell, she has two daughters, Nichole "Nicky" and Emily. With Thomas, she has three children, Kathleen and the twins: Ian and Elizabeth. All these names are what I wanted to name my own children, especially if I had been fortunate enough to have girls and one more boy. 🙄 I have two sons and was unable to have anymore due to serious health issues that developed after having my second son, so it at least I have my imaginary ones 😂

As for inspiration for my OC, it belongs with my late aunt whom I lost in 2013. Aunt Ann always encouraged my imagination and story ideas and she wanted me to one day write a story and have a character with my name (she loved how it looked written out). So Amanda has my first name and long before Bridgerton became popular on Netflix, I devoured the Bridgerton series of books back in 2016/2017 and gave her their last name in honor of my all time favorite series of books.

I've also given Amanda my own quirks and insecurities along with my dark hair and hazel eyes.

She has my hatred of having to stand and speak before large groups. She loves to dance. She loves movies, especially the classic films which is something I was raised to adore. Her favorite flower is the tulip and her favorite color is blue (which is also her duchy's color along with silver)

She is an only child like me. She suffers with many of the doubts I did as a teenager and young adult while waiting on my perfect match to appear.

She is highly critical of her own body like I am. She loves cheese enchiladas and chip and dip like I do 🤣 She laughs often which I'm guilty of and is pretty upbeat for the most part when she isn't wallowing in her doubts.

Amanda also over thinks things and jumps to conclusions though tries to be logical about them in her arguments much like I do 🤦🏻‍♀️ I also gave her my clumsiness. It's been so great to have in life 😂

LOL! I've given her a lot of me in case you can't tell. So if you like her, then chances are very high that if we were ever to meet, you'd like me too.

Okay, so listen. Most of the time when I see your responses, I’ll usually read all the way through and then type a reply after. That freaking FIRST PARAGRAPH took me out for a solid 10 minutes before I could I even REGISTER the rest that you wrote. And even after that, every time I look back at it so I can make sure I’m responding properly, my head just swoops to the side. Look, I can say the word horny okay, I’m just following Jack’s example by using innuendos instead 😂 But I know cursing doesn’t really come out until I’m deep in it. Being called shy is definitely a first for me though since I’m usually a chatty cathy, ESPECIALLY when I’m horny (my dirty talk gets FILTHY), but like, when I turn into a babbling mess of curse words and loud mewls is when you REALLY know you’ve got me GOOD. Freaking got compared to princess peach with how I sound at those moments 😂 At the same time, they gave up on domming me because I was too stubborn. You’re gonna have to try harder than that for me to give in though! Gotta work for it if you want me begging and pleading for you~

Growing Ian’s confidence and self esteem in all aspects including sex would be so wholesome. Definitely a part of the whole forgiveness for yourself as you do for others. If the issue is a repeated offense, then back away, but giving someone a chance if it’s only happened once should be accepted instead of demonizing a person. The self deprecation and the feeling undeserving can definitely hurt both parties involved unintentionally, so being able to navigate away from it and instead use more positive language and feelings helps. I know sometimes people can step away from being more affectionate or feeling loved because of repetitive negative reactions to said affection, so to be able to heal themselves to be as affectionate as they were is truly an amazing thing to witness. To go along with uniform kink…Fireman Joesph? Marine Joesph? HOOTERS BOOTY SHORTS AND CROP TOP JOESPH??? About to play dress up with this man, I swear 😂 But YES TO EVERYTHING ABOUT OUTLAW JOESPH! Just seeing him whip his chair in front of your cell to straddle it, a knowing smirk on his face as he shifts his jaw to lazily bounce the cigar between his lips. Placing his chin on his crossed arms while looking you over. “So I’ve heard that yer known for domming all sorts of folks around these parts.” He leans himself forward, the chair creaking under the pressure of only having two legs to support his weight instead of four. The embers in his cigar burn bright as he inhales deeply, letting a plume of smoke envelop the air around you both. The corner of his mouth draws higher, “Care to demonstrate for me darlin’?” He pulls the cigar from his lips and blows a small ring in your direction. “Or am I gonna have to lasso you over to my side until you agree~?” I don’t know much about smoking kinks since my asthma is like NOT TODAY, but I hope I typed that okay! Freaking love outlaw Joesph man 😂

Vocal subs are adorable! They can't lie to you about whether or not something feels good because they can't help but moan when it does~ It sounds like you just need a more experienced dom to get their hands on you. If one little paragraph got you that flustered, then I don't think I'd need more than a few sentences in person to get you nice and obedient. Ian has so many issues and I just wanna cradle him and fix them all for him tbh!!! I have my own personal theory about why he cheated, but I definitely don't think it's something he'd do again (or something he would've done in the first place if he hadn't somehow been convinced it was the right thing to do in the moment). But it'll still take his partner time to be able to open up like that again and be fully affectionate with him. They'll need to heal together, and I think once they do it'll be very cathartic for everyone involved.

Ok. Can you wax poetic about donuts the way you have (genuinely so beautifully) about tomatoes? Donuts really don't have the same metaphorical potential of growth and providing that tomatoes have.

i think someone has asked that before actually, but i can't find it. so if you want, i will give it another go 😅 but as for this question.... yes. at this point i think i can wax poetic about pretty much anything. i can make Too Much out of anything. and so here we go:

donuts! i'm thinkin about jimmysteve plopping that box down on the table in 1x02 and how fuckin excited they all get about it. fiona says she has been trying to get them to eat healthy breakfasts, so it's not like they don't have their share of poptarts or sugary cereal.... but donuts are special! it's a big ass deal with monica comes back in s2 and makes all those treats for breakfast. they don't get to indulge as much - it's all about what can feed the most of them cheaply and quickly. those big ass frying pans of eggs and pots of oatmeal. pancakes seem to be the exception, but they aren't as fun as basically eating cake for breakfast.

but they get so excited about those damn donuts. it's a splurge! a bunch of kids and a box of donuts! they were just cutting stolen coupons for meat. now they get a surprise 🥺 frosting and sprinkles! nothing's stale or past the sell-by date. they're probably fresh and soft and sweet.

and ian likes them 🥺

he steals them from work, where he has to pander to linda and put up with kash sulking and being terrible. they're a treat! a boy eating a donut. i don't know. something about them getting to do goofy kid stuff like sneaking sugary snacks and smirking about it..... i love that. and i bet he'd steal them for mickey too.

and veronica bringing them over when monica died. i am so mad i did not think about this till now! carl cooks for them and v brings extra sweets to share.... sitting around the table and making plans and comforting each other and having a little sweetness. it's small, but it means something!!! v woke up that morning and thought of her family. she wanted to bring a little goodness into their day.

AND NOW. NOW??? ian has a husband that will think of these things. go out and bring donuts home for him. just because. even when things have been tense between them. ian touches his arm in thanks even though they were just bickering. sweetness! sweetness between them! things they can do for each other! things that used to be so rare.... when would they ever have been able to afford a place with a name like sweet susan's on the regular?

it's not the same as tomatoes.... it's not really about growth and light and rebirth or whatever the fuck i'm always talking about. it's more about? little joys! letting themselves enjoy! taking moments in the morning! stealing little treats and giving little treats and not giving a fuck!

B, we can ALWAYS discuss GBBO. I am 100% here for that. And I have thoughts.

my favorite female character contestant: Nadiya from series 6. She is my queen. I love how she was such an underdog at the beginning and overcame it to win. She's the only contestant I've ever rooted for who's actually won. And now she has her own cooking and baking shows! 😭💜 (And you best believe I've tried her recipes and loved them.) ALSO, I really loved Briony from series 9. She was my early favorite to win and I was legitimately furious when she didn't make it to the final.

my favorite male character contestant: *looks at Richard from series 5, Tamal from series 6, and Selasi from series 7* I literally can't choose between them. Richard should have won his series. He was the obvious favorite going into the final, but the pressure obviously got to him. I was so upset when he messed up the signature and the technical because I knew there was no coming back from that. Tamal's personality was so endearing. And he was so good at what he did! If Nadiya couldn't win, I would've wanted him to win. That final showstopper?!?!?! WOW. And Selasi was just so calm and his friendship with Benjamina was one of the most wholesome, heartwarming things I'd ever seen on the show. He was so steady. I would've loved to see him in the final.

my favorite book/season/etc: Series 6. Hands down. There were a lot of good bakers in that season and I still consider it the strongest final they've ever had. (Plus, Mary, Mel, and Sue were still around.)

my favorite episode: It's so hard to pick one episode out of all of them, so I'm going to pick a theme instead. And I've gotta go with cake weeks. I love seeing that baseline get established. For something so basic, people really do get onto the show and mess it up because of nerves. (Also, I love seeing all the cakes that are...informal. They make me laugh. But don't get me started on how Dorret managed to make it through cake week in series 6 when she literally made something the judges described as rubber and which didn't taste good. AND THEN SHE MADE IT THROUGH BISCUIT WEEK?! I don't get it.)

my favorite cast member: Noel Fielding. He's added such a chaotic element to the show and even though I miss Mel and Sue, I really just love him so much.

my favorite ship: everyone x all the innuendos

a character contestant I’d die defending: Kimberley from series 4. I wanted her to win so bad. And, look, I know everything she did in the final was flawed, but she was doing well up until then. I'm really salty that they get to the final and just disregard everything contestants have done up until that point. Because they'll literally go from week to week and say, "Yes. There's a trend. This person has been doing terribly. It's time for them to go." Then they get to the final and just throw that out the window! Which leads me to the next thing...

a character many contestants I just can’t sympathize with: Frances from series 4. How many times did they have to remind Frances that she was choosing style over substance? HOW MANY TIMES? She should have never made it to the final let alone won it! I also found Nancy from series 5 absolutely insufferable because she could never admit when she'd messed up. Ian from series 6 really bugged me. There's just something about him and I can't put my finger on it. Candice from series 7 irritated me and I'm still mad that she won because I think Jane and Andrew were much stronger bakers.

a character contestant I grew to love: Alice from series 10. I want to be her best friend.

my anti otp: Paul Hollywood x handshakes. I'm over it. And I hate how everyone always wants to impress him when Mary (or Prue) is always standing right there with him. Everything is about Paul. Shut up, Paul.

And those are my trash opinions on GBBO. I hope we can still be friends, B. 💜

and finally, share something you’ve done/made recently that you’re proud of: I FINISHED THE NEXT CHAPTER OF AFRICA!!!!!! 🥳 and I went on holiday recently and sat by the beach. It was epic. A guy who looked just like Mickey came out of the sea, whipped his hair back and strutted up the beach in his tiny swimming trunks, water dripping from his muscles. I got out a notebook and wrote out a ficlet about Mickey the lifeguard and Ian the swimmer. I gotta type that out and post it.
