Vibrations pounded through my body. The music was near piercing, some tacky up-and-coming DJ playing typical nightclub sounds. Not my usual taste anywhere but here. Dancing was the upside of the chaotic noise. Rolling my body and shaking my hair like no one was watching was my pastime of late. The only thing is there was someone watching, someone I wanted to watch.
The first night I came here I could feel his lingering gaze. Some silver-haired goth in one of the corner booths with his friends. At first, it was just glances but the more I came the hotter his gaze grew. His two-tone eyes were piercing, egging me on to dance even harder. It was tonight however that I decided enough was enough. How hard did a gal have to dance to allure her handsome stranger? I was taking action.
My heeled feet clicked across the floor in a deadly rhythm, I was dressed to kill. As I approached the booth he frequented I noticed my liquid courage wavering. It was too late however as my finger grazed along the table of the booth. All eyes were on me.
My eyes lidded ever so softly, my lashes concealing my full gaze. “I couldn’t help but notice.” I paused to roll my lip between my teeth ever so quickly. “That you wanted to dance.”. The purple-haired male seemed to gulp as his oddly hatted friend elbowed him and the table erupted with chaos. Without a word from the male in question he was scooted from his place in the booth to standing right in front of me. Damn, he was tall too!
It was my turn to gulp as his perfectly done lips began to move. “I’m not sure what would give you that idea.” It was a statement rather than a question. Nevertheless, he moved towards the floor with me. As we began to dance I couldn’t help but notice that he was surprisingly fluid for someone who honestly did seem a little reserved and rigid. His lean body moved in time with the music, his hair swaying freely with him, the flashing light playing against his marble-colored skin. There was no talking, just dancing and feeling the music together.
We danced for what felt like hours before finally, my feet were purple and blue from the very cute but unpractical heels. I ghosted his shoulder and lightly gestured him to the sidelines. I couldn’t help but notice the slight sparkle of what must have been a mix of body glitter and sweat as his movement slowed to follow me. As we approached a table on the sidelines it was time to find out who this handsome stranger was.
“Thank you for dancing with me! I realized I never got your name. I’m (Y/N).” I said with a probably too-eager grin. He brushed his hair back with an open hand and peered down at me. “Leone. It was… fun.” His gaze remained intense as he spoke, his eyes were warm but his lips never faltered into any semblance of a smile. He was certainly the hard-to-read type. Before I had another moment to ponder him, he spoke once more.
“Let me buy you a drink. A sorry for my creepy staring.” He seemed to look away in embarrassment at this, if it wasn’t so dark and moody I’d think he might have blushed.
“Oh, thank you! I didn’t think it was creepy if that’s any consolation… I mean I was staring back enough to notice.” I rambled out with a laugh.
Leone smirked at this, “Don’t think I didn’t notice. You’re a bit obvious.”

hello, sexiest man alive committee? yes I'd love to nominate Lou Wilson and Brian Murphy for attempting to speed-write an actual in-universe 300-word essay in 5 minutes of real time as Fabian and Riz posing as Fabian with complete earnest and a 120 percent commitment. both this effort and the incredibly smooth hand-off in the middle of it was maybe the most attractive thing i've ever seen a man do
yes it's a dungeons and dragons show. don't put me on hold. hello

You! Internalize that you do not always need to "improve your art/craft" now! It's great to learn and develop your skills, but you do not need to come from a place of hating where you are now! You certainly do not need to force yourself to improve if it is coming in between you and enjoying the things you do. Improvement for improvements sake does not have to be the only goal, nor the only one that "should matter"
You are allowed to have motifs, enjoyment, ameturism, and "less skill." Kill and devour the capitalist in your head that dictates that you must always improve for everybody else's sake and your "productivity."
