showing off the commission i got from @ruporas for my fic, In the Next Life!
i'm still so incredibly excited about this. it's been some months since the story event that caused these scars, but i wanted SO BADLY to be able to see what they'd actually Look like... & Here They Are.
ruporas rendered the scars So Well, i just cant stop Looking at them... there's a Fresh & a Healed version, which ruporas was kind enough to give me without additional charge (Thank U Again😭😭) so i get to see what it looks like at different stages.
Lichtenberg Figures. in terms of actual scarring, lightning strikes that people survive don't tend to leave permanent scars, but the lichtenberg figures that they (usually temporarily) leave behind are just So Cool... Now, what happens when you get someone who can survive an amount of electricity/lightning that would be Frankly Lethal to any normal human person?
This :]

@ your tags about akiyama: no but he must’ve been so fucked up over that though??? 8 years. He was ghosted for 8 years and he knew it was bullshit the entire time but Date kept pushing him away and Kiryu never said anything to him. 8 fucking years. I’ve been turning that “guess I didn’t matter since I wasn’t part of your little gang” line in my head for WEEKS that shit HURTS (in both a good and bad way fuck you rgg but also mmmm good angst). justice for aki man he don’t deserve that shit though
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING LIIIIIKE
it's the most cathartic feeling in the world whenever someone yells at or tells kiryu in one way or another how selfish his actions are or how his actions have hurt them or others... like thank you so much akiyama kiryu really deserves to get clocked out sometimes...

Going off of that last post, just got me to think about how- one of my fave things about the fandom's (at large) interpretation of Ouma is how they just completely fell for his facade he carefully constructed all the time that we all by now know is false ktgdwrsfaesx....... Can't tell whether I find that absolutely hilarious or if I wanna scream about it in agony and misery
I just don't understand it 😭😭😭 like it's so Clear To Me that he wasn't genuine about being evil and hating everybody
People when a character clearly states that he's a liar and he lies and is called out for those lies and then in a time of vulnerability he admits about his facade being a lie: well. Clearly he was telling the truth the entire time and this instance is where he lies. None of the other times
Fuck man Kokichis facade isn't even that good!!! I came into the fandom because of that little fucker and immediately I could tell he's the type of character that cares a lot but puts up a facade
Why is Kiibo the only one to acknowledge Kokichi was telling the truth in his last moments also. Shuichi doesn't count because it's up to the player to decide how he feels WHY WAS KIIBO THE ONLY ONE!!!!! Even Kaito was like "oh idk lol. Fuck that guy lmao" and he WAS THERE!!!!
Kodaka why did you do this

it sucks bc niki had a happy home life, had a really good relationship with his parents, until that just all... stopped one day? and i dont doubt his parents love him but it's not like niki's ever wanted to inconvenience them since he knows having to leave was enough of a problem. so niki doesn't hate them either but i think it'd be a little complicated
i think it takes a few years for niki to realize it did him way more harm than he thought and i can see it coming from him and rinne talking about it, maybe niki reminiscing or talking about his parents' absence without taking it too seriously, only to be met with silence by rinne and rinne just turns to him to be like "niki what they did was fucked up you know that right" and That's when it hits niki like oh maybe yeah it was

8, 9, and 14, maybe?
Already did 14!
8. Who is your favorite protagonist?
Komaru!! Really, in terms of the games themselves, I love Komaru and Makoto pretty equally. But Komaru gets pushed over as the winner for out-of-game reasons. Her birthday is also the anniversary of my admission to the suicide ward, so every time it passes, it feels like we both made it another year. And that make me really happy :')
9. Who is your least favorite protagonist?
It's Shuichi........I'm so sorry I know y'all love Shuichi but he's just. Firstly he's not a good detective, and that bums me out. But secondly, there's no, like, reason for him to be the protagonist. Y'know? Everyone else is the protagonist because they have a narrative reason for it. Being the protagonist BUILDS to something. Makoto becomes the Ultimate Hope TM, Hajime's backstory reveals something stark about the existence of Hope's Peak that is completely unique to him, Komaru is the protagonist specifically to challenge what being a protagonist even means and finally buck the shackles of the narrative by the end.
Shuichi's arc doesn't build to something. There are several other characters who would have been much more meaningful as protags (spoilers for the rest of this paragraph) - Kiibo, who could've not just been controlled by the audience within the fiction, but literally controlled by the audience in that the player controls him; Tsumugi, who could've built to the subtle discovery that she's the mastermind and the reveal regarding fiction, making it so we question the truth through a much longer con than we got with Kaede.
Kaede's time as a protagonist was short, but even it served a purpose in the twist of the twist - that everyone was expecting music girls to die, but she can't because she's the protagonist! But surprise she does anyway! Subversion in such a way that you are challenging an audience's expectations but ultimately still appeasing them the same way they expected.
On the other hand, there's no meta reason for Shuichi to be the protagonist. Of course it's beautiful that Kaede handed off her vision to him, but he doesn't have to be the protagonist for that to work. Twogami handed off his vision to Chiaki, and neither of them were protags. There's nothing unique about Shuichi's relationship to the story that sets him aside as The Protagonist. They just, like...wanted him to be. And there really isn't even an in-universe justification of it, like appeasing V3's fictional audience, because we know they were looking through a different character. It's just a really odd choice.

I am honestly hoping that KC's personality chip is still intact. That way, they'll have a way to bring him back in the new body that Moon promised.
But would that be going against his wishes of having one life? Possibly .
Still with how he died idk... bringing him back... Would they address bloodmoons issues with family unlike eclipse now that we have Solar (nice Eclipse) who's weirdly enough more willing to recognize these issues it would seem.
They could still go the route of Bloodmoon being heavily influenced by their conversation and still not understanding their emotions about it. Not bringing KC back further complicating that but also allowing others to at least go HMN.
If they do bring KC back, would he still view things the same? Would he still keep himself away from all the family nonsense again? Theres still like the whole creator thing but most of thats been to light with sun and moon (monty and lunar even), its Earth who'd be handling that but they've got Lunar handling that.
Anyway, if they bring him back we know he wont be dadcode. BUT ALSO. Thats the trope of coming back Wrong.
