i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

bit of a weird ramble but god i miss Old deviantart. Like, i've spent so much of m early teens lurking on the Dragon artist community there back then wanting to become part of it, but when i joined mist of the big artists werent posting as much and everything felt like it was dying out. But even then i managed to get myself a small group of really cool mutuals on the site and we would comment and fave eachother's artworks, and draw birthday gifts and christmas art for each other and it was so nice.
But then eclipse rolled around and most of them moved to twitter and instagram, and i sort of did too, even thought i still use my DA acount, just not as much since everything there feels dead, its the last place i update after making an artwork and there's no more tag games or fun stuff to post. I dont see their posts as often because of the way algorythms work on those plataforms and just lost the community feel i felt i had back in deviatart.
Also despite constantly complaining about how my dragon art got so many more faves than my human work, at least on DA i could get faves and share my own art in groups instead of relying on other people to do so trought retweets and shares, with how social media work nowadays that you have to post every day to be relevant and uncertain algorythm im lucky i get 5 likes in any given work.
I've tried other sites to try and regain my footing but i never had much luck, furafinitty seemed like a good alternative since the overlap in general comunitty with DA, but at that point i was already shifting from dragon artwork and i never really felt like drawing furries all that much, never really adapted to insta, and since so many of my relatives and Irl friends follow me there since its an old account i dont feel confortable sharing that much at all, twitter is a lost cause because its just bad for art sharing and i recently signed up for pixyv but honestly im intimidated to post there, its a very different demographic and most artwork is really high quality and i just dont think i'd fit in there.
Plus despite all the fanart i produced the past year, im not a fanartist, i have always been and always will be an OC artist and its just so much harder to try and grow when no one knows or cares who these people i draw are.
i just feel very nostalgic for DA, it wasnt perfect, and to some people its better off as a dying social media, but to me it meant a lot.

75 and 76 for Chance and Sidney?
Thank you! This got really long so under the cut...
Also big thanks to my gay lover @nastywaterman for helping me with Croatian food info <3
75. What’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for you?
Chance looks up for a second, then laughs. “Oh god, this is gonna be embarrassing. Anyway. One time I met someone through… questionable means. And I asked them out to dinner. I figured what the hell, they didn’t kill me when they had the chance right?
But of course they didn’t show. I got reservations for us, too. People could tell I got stood up. It was awkward as fuck but these two older queers who were also waiting asked me if I wanted to eat with them. I said yes, as long as it wouldn’t trouble them, and we somehow got into talking about gay shit and I found out I was talking to two old punks! We had a great time and they gave me some much needed advice. Like, my family’s alright but they don’t do well with the.. queer trans non monogamy thing. But these people though! I felt like they really got me.
Eventually the night had to end, and they paid my part of the bill because they knew I was a student. I ended up exchanging emails with one of them and we still talk sometimes.”
--
Sidney leans on his hand a moment. “Hmm. I think it would have to be my first furry convention. It was for my 19th birthday. Nothing huge happened, but… well actually it was huge for me. At the time.
We had some… stuff going on at home. Like, even as my parents dropped us off they were still-“ he pauses, scrunching his nose in disgust and anger.
“Anyway. My parents dropped Tori and me off at the convention center. She did not want to be there. They made her come anyway of course because, I don’t know, they probably thought I’d get kidnapped or go to a gay rave orgy if I didn’t have my kid sister with me.
But she could tell that the con meant a lot to me, even if our morning was bad, so she walked with me through all of it. All the weird stuff too. She still didn’t get it but she got us boba and sat down and asked me what the appeal for the furry fandom was - not judgmentally, she just was genuinely curious because there’s so many facets to the fandom she didn’t know where to start.
One lengthy explanation later… She said she still didn’t get it all (I don’t blame her), but she was more curious. She was starting to understand some of the stuff I liked, and she even told me she wanted to make a fursona since she actually thought my art was cool.
I’ve never let her live that down. But anyway, I ended up explaining more stuff to her and she was starting to enjoy herself too.
At one point we passed my favorite fursuiter, one I followed online for years. I was super excited to see them but I didn’t want to approach. We were just in the artist alley, but I didn’t want to come off as rude or annoying or anything. Tori ended up going over and asking them for a picture for me! I got a good picture of them, with them, and we even ended up talking after too!
It was just a really surreal experience, I would’ve thought I dreamed the whole thing if I didn’t have pictures.”
76. What’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for someone?
Chance nods and starts to speak. “Okay, I can’t take all the credit for this one, but it was my idea…
“One of my roommates was stressing over a big presentation she had to give in one of her classes. It was midterm season too, and she got some of the other midterms done early but the presentation scared her the most.
“We all pitched in with helping her practice, giving her feedback, and helping proofread her slides. Well, when we could, since we were all also studying. But she seemed to be really going through it and we wanted to do something extra for her once she got it done.
“I remembered she mentioned a while ago that she was starting to miss her mom’s cooking, especially since it was so hard to get Croatian food here...
“Lucky - for us, not her - her presentation was later in the day, so we had plenty of time to get prepared. I went out to a European bakery kinda far off and picked up some bread for cevapi and chocolate wafer cake for dessert. The others were making some stuff to go with it.
“When she got home she was completely drained, but she was able to walk into the kitchen to see what we made for her - it wasn’t perfect but she loved it!
“Like, we didn’t expect it to all taste right or anything, and it didn’t since we weren’t familiar with Croatian food, but she said she’d help us make it again…”
--
Sidney smiles and leans in like he’s got a big secret. “One time someone - I won’t name any names - was going through a rough patch.
“She was looking forward to Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend at the time - she got a whole new outfit and everything. but then he dumped her not even a week before with no warning. She was functioning alright but I could tell she was depressed all week.
“So… I took things into my own hands.
“I got up extra early and made a few stops. When she woke up I showed her that I made heart shaped pancakes for us, and I got her some pink and yellow flowers. The colors didn’t really match, I know, but those are her favorites. I was like, just because you got dumped doesn’t mean we can’t have a good day together, right?
“We mostly sat around and watched our favorite movies together, and then went out and got dinner and dessert. She even got the chance to wear her new outfit too! I mean, I can’t forget after all those pictures she made me take for her insta… But anyway we had a great day together, without any stupid guys to bother us.”

Got tagged by @ultkyu to answer some questions! Thank you dear, I'm so excited for this~🥺💞
1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
× I'd be a cat, 100%. Cats are my love and my life, I've always wanted to be one, tbh (not in a furry type of way, but I feel like life would be easier if I was a cat, lmao). I love how cats take no shit and do whatever they want. They're very independent and individual and I'm all here for that.
2. What two anime characters or kpop idols are your type?
× Can I do both anime characters and kpop idols??
× As for anime characters, Jaeha from Akatsuki no Yona and Kirito from Sword Art Online are totally my type!!😍
× And in terms of kpop idols... omg,, how am I supposed to *only* name two?? Hmm, thinking about it, I guess not all of my biases are my "type" per se... but there's two that come to mind right now hhhh. One of them is Kevin Moon from The Boyz, he really ticks off (almost) every bullet point in my list for my "ideal type" and honestly, this list is freaking contradictory and has vvv high standards but Kevin is THAT boi, basically my imaginative ideal boyfriend personified. :') And the second one who I'd say is totally my type is Hwang Hyunjin from Stray Kids. I've always loved drawing him the most of all kpop idols and I still do tbh (but I can't fill my feed on my insta art account with JUST Hyunjin drawings,, you know,,,). His fashion!! I'm so here for it and vibe with it so well. Plus,,,idk,,, I feel like I could connect to him in some ways so ajxjsjdjjs yeah. There's just something about him and Kevin that inspires me so much, I really love these two bois.
3. Are there any writers or artists (art or music) that inspire you? If so, list 5.
× YES. I decided to name a few artists because I realize I've never talked about the artists whose artworks inspire me the most. They're all on Instagram, so I'll be naming their @'s
a.) @/shooky_dough: I'm probably not the only one who knows Nikki, hehe, but her art is SO amazing. She's got this really distinct style which I'd put into the category of semirealism. Her kpop fanart is soooo good and I used her tutorials to learn how to get better at sketching. If you look at the sketches I've been posting for the past few months on my insta art account, you'll notice that they're highly inspires by Nikki's art. She's definitely the artist I'm looking at most in terms of inspiration and improving on my own art.^-^
b.) @/angelganev: His art is sooo pretty. He does semirealism and I've found him by browsing through pinterest to find some art inspiration/references/tutorials. He also does drawing contests in which his followers can draw one of his work he selects in their own style and he gives a shout out to the ones he liked best. It's always interesting!!
c.) @/melmadedooks: This man can draw about ANYTHING, he's so talented. He used to draw lots of his 'dooks' and I've found him through seeing some of his works on pinterest (again, lol). I've actually redrawn two of his 'dooks' and posted them to my art account AND HE LIKED BOTH OF THEM, I WAS SO HAPPY OMG!!! He used to draw his dooks using only one coloured pencil, so I've also started experimenting with that and instead of using a graphite pencil, I used coloured pencils for my sketches and those gave off very different vibes that I really liked!!
d.) @/rezajeez: Probably *the* kpop fanartist I've been following for the longest of times. They are AMAZING!! They mainly do huge photorealistic portraits with INSANE details. It's funny actually, because their work is the complete opposite to shooky_dough's work. While Reza draws photorealism on a big surface (probably A3? maybe more??) and draws very detailed, Nikki focuses more on sketches/more semirealistic and "simplistic" art and it's usually drawn quite small, so seeing these opposites really broadens my horizon, I think^^
e.) Last but nor least, @/rossdraws: In my opinion, he's the modern day Bob Ross! His art is so freaking stunning, have you checked out his digital art landscape series?? The amount of talent this man holds in his pinky finger is more than I've got in my whole body like- OOF a huge inspiration to me!!~
4. If you could play any instrument, which would you play?
× The guitar!! I really want to learn how to play it~
5. If you could choose one anime to live in, which one would you choose and why?
× Either Ouran High School Host Club or Your Lie In April. The first one is just so much fun and I'd love hanging out with the host club members and as for the latter,,, I just really want to be here for Kousei and help him through his anxiety because I know so well how it feels like and I also wish I could sing while he plays the piano, we'd be a great duo✊🏻😔 (I'm sorry, I couldn't choose one)
6. This is a bit of an old DeviantArt fic trend, but if you received an Android of your favourite character from any anime/show/etc., who would it be?
× Hmmm... that's a great question omg there's so many amazing choices I could make😭😭 But I think I'd go with Kirito, I just really really love him ahhhhh
7. Is there anything you would like to do but haven't because your friends/family didn't want to do it with you?
× There's actually a few things I could name... first, I really want to go bungee jumping (preferably from the Macau Tower, as it's the highest bungee jump in the world😍) but my fam and friends think I'm crazy for wanting to do this but I'm actually quite an adventurous person which probably not many people know about me, so I love doing stuff like that.✊🏻😂
× I would also really like to travel with friends... it's not that I dislike travelling with my mom and stepdad but whenever I can't take someone with me, I feel like such a child ??? idk,, never travelling (I wanted to say "without adults" but then I realized I AM an adult) on my own with friends and always tagging along with my parents kind of make me feel like I'm not independent or mature/grown-up for it. But I feel like none of my friends want to travel with me... most of them have a travel buddy already but I just... don't akdjsjs
× and last but not least, getting more specific, I really want to travel to Hawaii and South Korea, but so far, I haven't made it there yet :c
8. What's your favourite flower?
× Cherry Blossoms all the way💞 but all flowers are beautiful and I really like roses, too.
9. What are some of your hobbies?
× My hobbies include singing, drawing, dancing, writing, reading, researching astrology, studying Korean, watching youtube videos/netflix, listening to music and OF COURSE DAYDREAMING✊🏻😔
10. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island with nothing but the clothes on your back and a bag, what would you put in the bag?
× I'd definitely put food and water in the bag, my phone, earphones, a portable solar charger with a USB cable (so that my phone won't die and I could chill for however long I want while watching kpop mv's and then also use my phone to call for someone to rescue me from this island once I start running low on resources), all the books I still want to read, my art supplies and a few sketch books, some towels that I could use to lay on or use as blankets, a pillow and my teddy bear, and obviously a toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush and a few hair ties and bobby pins (you don't want long sweaty hair stuck to your skin during a hot summer ewww), some soap to wash myself and my clothes, sunscreen and also some insect spray to keep the bugs away!! (it's a big bag, okay)
~
Sorry for writing such an essay omg!!
Here are my 10 questions:
1. What compliment you've received meant the most to you?
2. Would you rather meet your favourite celebrity/group/bias and realize they're not at all how you imagined them to be like (maybe they're not as kind as you thought, for example) or never meeting them in person but it turning out that they're actually the amazing, kind, sweet, generous, etc. person that you thought they were? (I hope that makes sense hhhh I think the ethics of this question are really interesting)
3. What's your current favourite song you always use to get hyped up to or a song currently stuck in your head?
4. If you had to write the book of your life, what genre would it be and what would you choose as a title?
5. Name your top 5 musical artists and your favourite song of each of them?
6. If you were invited to a big humanitarian event and had to give a speech on a topic you'd want to bring about a huge change for the better, what topic would you choose to speak about and voice your opinions/ideas? (Assume public speaking is one of your strongest assets and you'll ace this no matter what)
7. What is something (a skill, personality trait, or something appearance related, it can be whatever) you wish you had and/or you really admire in other people?
8. What's your favourite anime/show/youtuber (you can answer whichever you got an answer for, it can be all three options of course :D)?
9. In kpop, are you more into vocalists, dancers, rappers, maknaes, leaders, or visuals (or maybe a mix of some/all :'))?
10. What's your most beautiful/favourite memory?
oof I hope these questions will be interesting to answer🥺 hmm, Imma tag @littlefallenrebel @jinniesmeow @softpastelmx @yeonki @hanstagrams @marculees @chrryjin and anyone else who'd like to do this~💞💞💞

Thoughts on each even, you don’t have to answer. You just have some of the better skam opinions on this site.
Hi 🤩💫 First off, flattery will get you absolutely everywhere with me, anon, thank you so much haha.
I took a few days to think about how best to answer this ask because most of the Evens don’t feel so different to me that I could think of many things to say about each one. But then I thought I’d approach the Evens through their art style.
I was a bit of an Even in high school— liked 90s hip hop, fell in love a lot, was a bit of a dreamer and a romantic, doodled and tried my hand at different art projects with mixed results, etc. So in talking about the Evens, I’m also going to talk a bit about myself if you don’t mind!
I’m also not going to rank them this time, let me know if you want me to rank them (or to rank anything else about Skams, idc).
Even - I like Even’s drawing style and I feel it suits him very well. He never had an insta, but Isak’s season banner features a good amount of his drawings, plus the ones we saw on the show. He’s obviously influenced by American hip hop and comic culture, what with the COOLCAT, the weed, the crown, the diamonds… and the dicks. I’m very fond of Even’s Illuminati eye surrounded by boners, lol. It really feels like the kind of things a boy like Even (who loves Romeo + Juliet and Pretty Woman and Gabrielle, but also Nas and Lars von Trier and Stjerner uden hjerner and FIFA) would draw. I like that Even felt inspired by his conversations with Isak and pushed through his own fears to make art directly referencing things Isak said. Even felt scared by the possibility of parallel universes, but in order to show Isak how much he cared, his drawings for Isak all referenced parallel universes. I also like that Even’s art style is not stereotypically cute. It reminds me of the borderline gross style of Daniel Clowes and Peter Bagge.
Niccolò - Okay, so at this point I think we’re all aware that Skam Italia didn’t even have the budget for insta content, and they clearly didn’t have the budget to hire an artist specifically to create Niccolò’s art. He does have lots of drawings in his room, but then he doesn’t really draw anything for Martino? It feels like Niccolò is more of an arts and crafts kind of person, at least to me. Anyway I like that (aside from the red string of fate, which never got a follow up of any kind) the stuff Niccolò makes for Martino all reference Last Man on Earth, the TV show they bond over, in one way or another. The show is really not what I would call epic romance material, which I feel works for them tbh!
Eliott - My thing with both Eliott’s furry thing and Polaris, is that both seem really cute, but ultimately like… they didn’t mine either thing for all it was worth, I guess I would put it. Also, in comparison to other Evens, Eliott’s thing is almost developed (Eliott is after all a fictional character, not a real person) in order to elicit maximum cooing from its audience. Like, no one would say the illuminati boners or Last Man on Earth are objectively cute, not out of context! (And I’m far from a Skam Italia fan, I’m just saying.) But the hedgehog and the raccoon and the cat are all drawn in a very cute style. It feels a little too saccharine sweet for a 18-year old. However, Maxence not looking like a 18-year old might also play a part in my hesitance, because as a 18-year old I legit drew a full on comic about me and my then crush as superheroes fighting against our teachers in order to conquer college admittance tests together. (Like I said, Even and I have some shit in common lol.) And I drew my crush as a cat because he looked like a cat to me. So where the hell do I get off criticizing Eliott, y’know? As for Polaris, it’s like… Okay, so one is afraid of the light and one is afraid of the dark, and they meet and kiss right outside the cave, what else? It’s like, it’s cute and romantic, right, but not very developed as a season long motif.
David - I mean, do I have to say it? I love David and everything about him. I love that he has different art styles and uses different tools, it’s very realistic for someone his age still trying to find what his specific thing is. I love his sketches and his collages and the fact that he has a vampire persona that he draws in thicker lines. I love that he didn’t initially have an insta, and that he only got it because Sara and Leonie needled him about it, and I love that he didn’t post selfies or pictures of himself until he went through his character development. I love that his vampire persona crap is only for Matteo and he doesn’t post those cartoons on his very serious, very aesthetic insta. I love that his vampire persona looks similar to the Magdalene Hanke-Basfeld illustrations for the Angela Sommer-Bodenburg “The Little Vampire” book series. (I have no idea whether it’s intentional/an homage or just me seeing things where I wanna see them, but I loooove it.) I love that his first posts on insta really just seem kind of random (aside from the bird taking flight ofc) and like they don’t have a connection to the s3 storyline, it’s as if David really existed and made art and had ideas and thoughts before he met Matteo. I get such a kick of David’s sense of humor, like he seems kind of angry at the cliche of being barefoot on the beach and having a good time (ZUM KOTZEN!!!). Lol hes just so delightful. I love that he can’t post a goddamn pic or video without a filter, oh no that’s simply not him!!!!1 And let me tell you about the time he made a highlights folder and named it Nights on Earth, I almost lost it on twitter I had such a great time. Anyway, David’s art and insta really scream that he’s a bit of a pretentious snob who corrects people on proper terminology and will only make cute things for the person he cares about the mostest AND NO ONE ELSE. PERIODT!
Joana - I’m a bit torn about Joana because I’m not into her more anime-esque stuff, but at the same time, god, if that isn’t me. I learned to draw by watching anime and trying to emulate the style, and because I’ve never really taken lessons, my cartoons just scream anime. I’m a bit embarrassed about it, because weeaboos and what not, and that extends to Joana as well lol. Before I revisited the Evens’ stuff for this ask, I had this idea in my mind that Joana’s art is a bit unrealistic because it seems too polished and professional for her character, but really, that’s just the piece that she in character made for the hospital/the BDP project. The stuff on the show and on her insta is actually believable as doodles or pieces she can put a bit more effort into, but aren’t like, art gallery-ready. I like that Joana started posting black and white doodles from graph paper notebooks (ftr this is the kind of notebooks most Spanish students use, lined or blank paper notebooks not so much), and started adding colors and creating more complex pieces as her relationship with Cris progressed. I think it says so much about Joana that the cartoons that represent her are always in some kind of pain, physical or emotional, but the cartoons that represent Cris (including the toads) are always cute, always happy, always desirable. Like, be more in love pls. I love that Joana is a bit of an edgelord, and uses a lot of imagery related to arrows, knives, tears/blood drops. That’s so accurate of girls like her. I love that the season banner has an actual to god vulva on it. Compared to other Evens, Joana seems more focused on drawing than anything else, so maybe that makes her video for Cris’ birthday not plausible, but on the other hand, I feel like Croana shippers could’ve used more cuteness in week 10, so you know what? Imma take that video, copypasta of “Gutten som ikke klarte å holde pusten under vann” as it is. I hope that Joana keeps posting art in s3 and s4, and so we get to see how her style develops. ✨
Sander - I haven’t really watched wtFOCK.

As I’ve gotten more and more in kpop how fans behave sadly plays a role if I want to listen/follow groups/artists I have never did before lol Even if they may make good music or I hear good comments from like neutral parties I probably still will not because how some fans act is terrible. Yes I am missing some good stuff lol but I don’t enjoy fighting or how there are double standards in groups which I know I will not be able to avoid because it’s hard for me to ever not start reading or looking up about the people I am enjoying. And I look at the bg and the gg groups I love and I think I can honestly say I have never deep down hated any member like they seem to hate him or take any available opportunity to drag him. Even before this, some of his comments always drew the weirdest reactions and fighting and it’s like if this was someone else it wouldn’t be getting a thousand shitty quote retweets. I follow nct bubble accounts and iirc he got a lot of hate/shit for I think rooting for Germany (?) during the euro games. There were also a lot ton of shit tweets saying how he was a weirdo and making fun of him and labeling him a “furry” because he loves the beastar anime. Of the top of my head these two came into my mind. There are more but I’m still half asleep lol but I remember admins needing to disable comments and my timeline fighting and it was a mess. To me these are such harmless comments that got people soooo riled up. So he has a team he wants to win and he likes an anime show that is popular and he has shared before how he watches/likes anime. So wth is the problem? And if iirc too yy had been rooting for the Milwaukee during the nba finals and other members have shared the things they enjoyed but there was no fighting, no hate thrown and no side comments. So how is it possible for people to do the SAME thing but draw completely different reactions? 🙄🙄
And I was on Twitter last night and yeah I’m judging how you fans behaved esp these super loud obnoxious ones. Idk if you saw the series of pictures xj posted. But he has a new hair color and people were freaking out and loving his pictures. But then he deleted them all off all and people thought he was had to cause he was spoiling something. No it wasn’t because it turns out it’s a day of remembrance for the Mukden incident and no entertainment posts are supposed to be made. Then I saw the same people deleting all these posts about them freaking out and thinking they’re spoilers and asking not to spread the pictures on the different platforms esp on weibo cause they don’t want him to get hate cause it’ll hurt him and the group. And I will say this… that if this was lc, that shit would have spread like crazy already and I would be reading all these damn comments of “why is he so disrespectful?” “he’s so stupid” and “how the fuck does he not know the history?!” I’ve been in fandom long enough to see how you people move. Pfft.
the thing you said in the beginning about fans behavior is why i tend to distance myself from them (mainly twitter). too many times have they ruined the experience for me, but i don't want to let them ruin a good thing for me so i distance myself. i also have never hated a member of a group i love/used to love.
in my opinion, some celebs tend to get more hate because one, popularity and two, jealously. i think a lot of celebs get so much unwarranted hate because of jealously. whether they're jealous of his success or they're jealous their faves aren't getting the same attention. there are probably other reasons, but this the first thing that always comes to my mind. (again, this is just the unnecessary hate. sometimes they get hate for good reason but sometimes it goes too far).
i only check insta like twice a day so i didn't see the photos until i looked it up on twitter when you sent this. i apologize for the late reply and the xj reposted them as i'm answering. i've seen nctzens talk about preparing for nct 2021 and i'm curious what sm's plans are regarding lucas with that.
i think, specifically right now, some fans are being a bit more careful(?) so the others don't get hate. but talking about in general, i think it is sad how different the situations would be because i agree that if it were lucas the reaction would be different.
personally, i feel like a lot of groups have one member who always get more shit on for no reason and i think it's really sad. i would love to know the reasoning behind this and just nonsense hate in general.
they don't deserve it, but they get it, and we can't do much to help the situation as much as it sucks.

weird ask but what do you think the main 5 would be like with social media?
Omg not a weird question, I had so much fun thinking about this!!
Richard: HATES social media. He has a Facebook and a LinkedIn but he never uses them. Refuses to get twitter or instagram or Snapchat or anything else like that. He definitely has a blog, maybe a wordpress or something but there’s no personal info on there it’s all tech stuff. Probably gets into a lot of arguments on Reddit.
Erlich: twitter/instagram/Snapchat king (self appointed of course) (and not Facebook because fb is behind the times) he wants to keep his life well documented so that when pp blows up there will be plenty of material for his biographer. He doesn’t have many followers but he tells himself that his tweets will be appreciated when he’s famous. Definitely gets into a lot of arguments on Reddit.
Jared: uses LinkedIn and Facebook regularly to keep up with friends and colleagues, but doesn’t use twitter/insta/Snapchat because they’re “too flashy”. He might have accounts with them so he can follow his friends but he doesn’t make his own content. Probably has a tumblr where he reblogs photos of things that make him happy, mostly birds/other animals/landscapes. Has probably never been on Reddit.
Dinesh: idk who this was but someone said Dinesh has a highly curated twitter that’s actually really good but he has 0 followers and that’s SO true. He probably also has a movie review blog, again good content but not many followers. Facebook is depressing because the only people who actually contact him through there are his family, but uses it to keep in touch with family reluctantly anyway. No Insta/Snapchat because they’d just be more ways to not interact with friends. Probably avoids Reddit because he knows he’s going to get into arguments.
Gilf: no Facebook/insta/Snapchat. (ALTHOUGH- Tara may have convinced him to get a Snapchat for sexting purposes, so he has one but she’s his only contact) Someone said he has a secret furry rpg twitter and a secret nsfw furry rpg twitter and that’s very true. Probably has a satanist/aesthetic/gore blog. And he canonically uses bovine dawn and semi canonically uses 666chan (still not sure what this is??). Is literally constantly in the middle of a Reddit argument.

Phantom Party (Interview)
Phantom Party’s music falls somewhere in between the grit of punk rock and the sophistication of British indie music: think Arctic Monkeys jamming with The Smiths!
We had a chance to chat with the band about their sound and approach: read on to find out more!
I love how you manage to render your tracks so personal and organic. Does the melody come first, or do you focus on the beat the most?
Josh: The melody definitely comes first for me. I would find a melody in my head and stick to it. The music typically comes second because I feel like the melody sets up a true foundation for a song.
Do you perform live? If so, do you feel more comfortable on a stage or within the walls of the recording studio?
Matt: We perform live constantly, and I personally prefer the stage over not just the studio but anywhere. It's where I feel most comfortable. All anxieties, problems or personal turmoil evaporates when we're up there together. For me, anyway.
Austin: A friend told me once that she thought seeing me play live is the purest form of me, which I totally agree with.  Even looking at Josh and Matt, we get this vibe that links up super well most of the time.  I feel like it’s tough to be stressed out when you’re playing live since there’s so much going on at once.
If you could only pick one song to make a “first impression” on a new listener, which song would you pick and why?
Matt: We have a new song called "Peach Honeymoon" that is gonna be on our new EP and I feel like that's a good first impression song. I think it encapsulates a lot of different ideas that have been bouncing around lately.
Austin: “Peach Honeymoon” was the first song we played together that was quite a departure from our other stuff.  There’s another song called “Holy Roller” which I really like too—it’s going to be on an EP called A Year in Bed with “Peach Honeymoon.”  As for music we already put out, I’d either say “Catholic School” or the titular track on Hundred Skeletons.
What does it take to be “innovative” in music?
Matt: Innovation in music, for me, is all about honesty. As long as it's true, and from the heart, it's innovative. I don't wanna see a bunch of dudes noodling through some classic rock rip off song wearing furry vests and sunglasses inside. It's disingenuous. I wanna see hungry, ambitious musicians who are willing to martyr themselves for their music. Find those people, and you'll find some truth.
Any upcoming release or tour your way?
Austin: We’re recording an EP called A Year in Bed in September with our pal Matt Aldawood.  He plays in a band called Troubled Minds here in Arizona and he records all of their stuff himself, as well as other bands in the area.  We recorded a handful of songs with him in 2015 and put them on a cassette, and we recorded a few more songs with in 2016 before we just recorded our album ourselves.  With Hundred Skeletons we wanted to make a record that was kind of lo-fi, so when we recorded the songs ourselves, that’s exactly what we got.  I can’t complain.  However, with the new songs, we’re going in a direction where we agreed that these songs would sound great a little more polished.  This EP is also going to be pretty cool because last time I heard, we had plans to record the songs live instead of multitracking.  The studio nerds know what I’m talking about.
Matt: In November we're doing a little tour. Just a few dates in Arizona and a few in California, but we're bringing some crazy folks with us so it'll be a crazy ride.
Anywhere online where curious fans can listen to your music and find out more about you?
Austin: www.phantomparty.bandcamp.com is the place where anybody will be able to download our music for free or donate money as well.  It all cycles back into recording or making merch.  We have Hundred Skeletons CDs and rad shirts for sale on that site, too.  We are also on all of the popular streaming sites, so just search for us you’ll be able to stream our music! People can learn more about us on social media.  Our handle is @phntmprty which is Phantom Party without the vowels.  We’re on Facebook and Twitter but we have become super intrigued with Instagram so we hit the Instas with the most up to date stuff going on.  Hook it up with a follow, yo!
