Thoughts and Drawing progression below 🫀

[this is one without a glow effect on the heart. I like both equally.]

Holy cow, am I glad to finish this! I’m really proud with how it turned out :))) I had a strong feeling for what I wanted out of this with the realistic human heart, blood, and perspective.

I tried going realistic for 30 minutes but 🤡umm I’m not very good at realistic. Kris almost looked like a middle aged punk rocker which is NOT what I wanted.

I always feel like my sketches come out better than my final, but so is life. Can’t be perfect. Also this image is so cursed it almost got corrupted and I almost lost all of my progress 😳🫀🥺🤡

(and then Tumblr basically blocked this image from most of my followers because one of the images and video weren't compatible? Very annoying..)

Anyways I haven’t seen a full render of Kris holding an actual human heart. There’s a ton of versions of them just holding a bloody cartoonish heart, but I WANT MORE. Thought I may change the status quo ❤️ This was also my first time trying to do blood, so it was a fun learning curve. I was planning for a Halloween release, but I got busy. Hope you enjoy!

[For Flowey I checked off 'they are so cool looking,' 'everyone but me is wrong about them,' 'they're deeper than they seem,' 'they got done dirty by the fans,' and 'didn't get enough screentime']

I think it is fantastic that I have met some excellent Flowey/Asriel fans recently who do amazing work in dissecting him as a character, and how they're both just the same person at two different points in life. But I am still so bothered by the whole 'Asriel is a Pure Sweet Innocent Angel to contrast Vile Vile Chara' thing.

Everyone is also Wrong when drawing his grown up form. They just have it be his God of Hyperdeath form, which feels lazy to me. His parents are both fat and muscular, and his dad has long blonde hair. Give me more beefy Asriels! Give him muscles! Give him a beard so he can braid it and put flowers in it!

Also the only reason I say 'not enough screen time' is that I think it'd be extremely funny if he just followed you throughout the entire Underground and gave his own snarky commentary, alongside the Narrator and Papyrus' phone calls. Even funnier if this is a secret bonus run you get after like five neutral runs.

I love Kris deeply, but since they really show their personality through narration and how others react to them, at present moment they really only shine as part of a dynamic. Specifically, I think they shine best with Susie, Noelle, and Berdly. As much as I adore Ralsei, he and Kris are both a bit too... obedient... to really display their personalities when it's just them alone.

I also checked both 'deeper than they seem' and 'not that deep'. I do this because I have a lot of opinions on a LOT of popular Kris theories. I think they're a deeper character than just 'secretly Chara' or 'secretly Frisk', and flattening to them does a disservice.

That said, I was also never a fan of 'at the end of chapter 1 Kris was going to KILL ALL OF HOMETOWN and we'd CONTROL SUSIE to STOP THEM,' nor am I a big fan of 'Kris opened the Cyberwold/Card Kingdom fountain!' I like that it was as simple as Kris pranking us. I'm also not a fan of 'there is a SECRET THIRD ENTITY who is controlling them to remove their soul! THEY caused Snowgrave'

No. No, we are not having a repeat of 'Chara is to blame for No Mercy.' No. Bad Fandom. We are not outsourcing everything you dislike about a character or your choices to a scapegoat. Bad.

...That said. Kris has made mistakes and I hope they will make even bigger mistakes but they've also never done anything wrong. <3

Kaeya. Kaeya, I adore you. I adore how people keep mentioning what you're up to, in the Tanuki event and the Chasm.

Also I love his dynamic with everyone. Especially with Diluc and Klee and Jean. I want an event where he and Klee just Causes Chaos and we have to clean up after them.

I ALSO want more lore. Because he's so so so involved with lore and I desire More. Y'know!?
