Things I’ll never not be bitter about:

There’s no public transport to the local hospital. So I gotta rely on the ridiculous bus system to get me halfway there to the nearest stop where I then cross the busiest street for the whole area, run up a hill and walk through someone’s backyard to get to the front doors.

#I mean why?#why is the closest bus stop 10 minutes downhill from the only hospital??#and this isn’t even THE hospital this is just the local minor injuries unit #first kernow my beloathed #BUS WAS 15 MINUTES LATE #and they won’t let you in for your appointment if you’re late either #so I was hauling ass up a hill I could swear was at least 70 degrees steep #I made it there in time but holy shit I was seeing red #other than that! it was a perfectly nice day!!#and I don’t have £30 for a taxi either #anyways

First off - brain, we need to have words about this shit, you can't keep doing this...

Second, what my brain decided to spit up:

Vulcans and Romulans, and the differences between them.

I haven't seen the latest season of Discovery, so I have no idea if this has been answered in canon or not, so apologies if it has.

I'm fairly sure that, from what we've seen, the Romulans left Vulcan pre-warp, so they had to be in generational ships. The journey to Romulus and Remus must have taken multiple generations. Like, lots and lots of generations. As in, to the point of being dangerously inbred.

What if they ended up genetically modifying themselves just to prevent the issues that inbreeding must have caused? So that they would survive long enough to find their new homeworld, and start to flourish as a species. Maybe some extras once they were there to help them thrive in a different environment since Romulus isn't a desert.

And voilà - you have a breed that's genetically distinct from its parent species to the point there are specific genetic markers one can use to tell them apart, but still similar enough that you can clearly see that they're related.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

i need well meaning cis people to stop attemping to steelman trans healthcare conversations because it basically always ends with them just lying about easily checkable things "no minors are getting irreversible treatments" wrong not true "no minors are having surgery" also false, like instead just say the truth: currently some minors (few, but some) are able to access hrt that will have some irreversible changes on their body, some (even fewer) minors are able to access surgery.

the counter to transphobes screaming "these kids are being irreversibly changed" isn't "no children are accessing this care" it's "puberty is also an irreversible change" and "i think under 18s and even under 16s should be able to make medical decisions actually"

"no minors are accessing this care" means that transphobes can easily point to the examples of minors who are accessing that care, which just make us look like liars. sometimes teenagers and children need to make medical choices on their own. i think a 14 y/o should be able to get an abortion. i think trans kids and teens should be able to have the approriate care, which for some will just be like, picking a new name or haircut, and for some, sure, could be surgery.
