" it shall not matter , " zestial might despise most technological advances , but to an extent --- he knows of them , knows their capabilities. if they wanted to find kitty , they would. zestial simply ensured the meeting was held on common ground , it wouldn't be strange for her to be here. zestial himself was adept at blending into swaths of shadow when situation called for it. no one looked twice at the presence beside the little bot.
" venom shall take hold ere they can take action. " necrotic , rotting off limbs until the only end in sight , the only relief was him. but oh , zestial would not be merciful.

Personally I think they're both huffing a bit of copium about one another (Vox and Alastor) but Alastor is better at hiding it/maintaing his cool. We know that at least Valentino feels confident enough to goad Vox into taking the bait, that Alastor "almost" beat him last time. It's an interesting attitude compared to Vox's. Even Velvette doesn't seem all that concerned with Alastor, both her and Valentino are confident in the Vees current status and it's only Vox's personal insecurities that prevent him from sharing that mindset.
Vox's medium IS the victor in the grand scheme of things, he (along with the other Vees) ARE more relevant than Alastor/radio. And Vox is also capable of upgrading/improving himself over time in a way Alastor (from what we've seen) is not. It's so interesting seeing Vox unable to fully realize his strength/power - he can say it all he wants, but I don't think he really believes it. We the audience, however, know that visual media is king... case in point we are watching this series as a show on screens. Vox's hypnotism and electric powers are also pretty OP, he's got a good deck of cards (even though we haven't seen the full extent of how he can really leverage these yet).
And let's not forget Alasor BOOKED IT across town to get back at Vox during Stayed Gone. I think Alasor is (and should be) somewhat nervous (maybe "cautiously aware" is a better term) about the influence Vox and the Vees have regarding the future of media. He doesn't crack easily, as we've seen, but he cares enough to engage with Vox which he doesn't bother doing with outright "lessers".
In this way the dynamic is more even (in my opinion) than many give it credit for, which I personally prefer, but to each their own... for me, if it's not more equally matched, I struggle to see how the Vees will be worthwhile antagonists in the next season and that would be such a shame for characters that have so much potential. I just love the Vees!
(prev ask)
ehh I mean I do feel that they are on more equal level than some of the fandom may make them out to be but I still don't feel like they're exactly on the same level. like every time I see takes about mutual stuff between them I still can't fully agree cause to me, it's still on some level imbalanced. I do think they are of roughly equal power yes, but I think alastor being able to keep his cool is in fact a point towards him having the upperhand. it's the fact that vox is literally incapable of keeping his cool when it comes to alastor that spells more of his weakness when it comes to him I think. but yeah I mean how the vees, or rather vox will be a proper antagonist when he's so easily defeated by alastor is what I've been asking for a while LMAO.
and the thing is, we've seen instances like alastor being somewhat scared when zestial pops up, his mask slipping when starting stupid beef with lucifer (his eye is literally twitching the moment lucifer steps into the hotel LMAO), and of course with his fight with adam. we don't see any of that when it comes to the vees/vox, alastor waves them off as "nobody important" when niffty asks, easily tramples vox in stayed gone (and yes, he did immediately go back to his radio tower to bite back, but I don't think that's necessarily out of fear, could've easily just been he saw he was being insulted on live tv and HAD to bite back because he's a petty bitch), and gloated to him about having to "try harder than that" after failing to spy on him.
in my view, he doesn't see the vees or vox as a serious threat. HOWEVER, I do think that could easily be a point against alastor. his cockiness and not taking them seriously could very well come bite him in the back (JUUUUST like with adam!)
but when it comes to his current season 1 dynamic with vox, I do think he has the upperhand because of their different attitudes. if vox was able to keep his cool like alastor he wouldn't have caused a city-wide blackout over stayed gone LMAO. they're definitely more leveled power-wise though I think, the difference comes in their attitudes. if vox won the idgaf war a bit more they'd be more leveled, but he has chosen to obsess over him 24/7 so here we are.

oh my god. your wording in one of ur latest anon answers. does…. is val the only one who does the dumping? does vox never dump val??? i always like… idk i assumed that they both broke it off in a never ending downward spiral, mutually. but oh my GOD? you’re saying val is the only one doing the breaking up? i….. this is shifting my entire perspective on vox. HOLD ON. HOLD ON. not to beat a dead dove here (that was a brilliant pun yes i’m stealing it), but……… this is sliding right into my vault where i keep my Vox and Domestic Violence Thoughts. he just seems so…. helpless. he’s helpless all the time and in complete denial about it. at first it was clear he’s pretty helpless around alastor -in both canon and your fic. alastor is stronger, and also, in the beginning had the Extreme emotional upper hand. i knew this, yet, like in canon, i assumed more or less alastor was the chink in his armor. vox DOES run the vee’s competently, he handles val, and he’s arguably the fourth most powerful sinner in hell (behind zestial, carmilla, and alastor). those 3 things are true, AND YET. let’s look behind the wizards curtain. how does vox live his Personal life. not his job or position of power. how does his close relationships define him. let’s see now. the initial intense obsession with alastor, which had ONLY left him rejected and humiliated. helpless. and now val. i Assume vox enacts some physical violence on val, too, but something in his wording in the last installment. vox made the point to compare alastors straight up murder attempts to how val acts. i do not think vox does that with val, at least not in a trivial and common manner (he has said the vee’s have all killed e/o before). and when i said “sure he can act disgruntled and upset in the moment” in another ask, i MEANT that vox could break up with val for a couple days before crawling right back like nothing happened. but NO. NOT EVEN THAT. vox endures, and he ultimately does Nothing. NOTHING. and not even that, he is subjected to val breaking it off in a cyclic manner, for superficial or nonexistent issues. and then after a week val will call and vox will come crawling back like nothing happened, and the timer for 4 months begins again. through everything, EVERYTHING, vox really just seems… passive in the grand scheme of things. it’s paradoxical, because he’s also outrageously ambitious. i think that’s one of his core character traits, a constant greed and pursuit of it. that’s unequivocally true about him. but then we look at his love life, and what do we see? he lets the two men he loves basically do whatever they want with him. and he does it because he loves them, as well as being unable to admit he’s suffering. i will say, from now on it’s clear that his relationship with alastor is veering off this direction, but i want to STRESS that it was actually ALASTOR that cemented that. vox, in a spurt of emotion, let it slip out his history of domestic violence. then, promptly brushed it off to appease alastor. he set the terms of the deal, but he did it as a silly pinky promise. he, again, never allows himself to take it SERIOUSLY. because IF HE DOES!!!! then he needs to set boundaries AND ABIDE BY THEM!!!!!!!! AND WHAT THEN. WHAT THEN. THEN THE NEXT TIME VAL OR ALASTOR CROSS A LINE, HE NEEDS TO END IT. LEAVE. DO ANYTHING. AND HE IS NEVER GONNA DO THAT!!!!!!!! and here’s the real fucking kicker…… he expects them to. to keep hurting him. that’s the root of it. it’s not a real boundary, because it’s an inevitability. valentino and alastor will always want to hurt him, so a relationship without that violence is nonexistent. (that’s what he believes btw. hopefully not the truth). and so, vox has made his choice. he’s a businessman, and he has weighed the pros and cons. the violence and crossed boundaries he faces is outweighed by his love for them, and ultimately, that means they can do whatever they want to him. he is helpless.
(this was an entire rant, dear god. and of course the disclaimer that this is all my personal delusions, and not necessarily your take on vox in your series. i swear, i never know how these asks get so long. i promise i start of with a simple idea, then it all implodes into an essay. so sorry. love you.) -🌓
I have good news and bad news for you, anon!
The bad news is that I have misled you slightly: My actual full perspective of the Valentino and Vox on-and-off dating situation is that Vox dumps Valentino when he feels a sufficiently angry flavor of upset that Valentino refuses to listen to him on some things (usually not, actually, the violence, unless Val breaks something for Vox to be angry about); and Valentino dumps Vox when he wants Vox to annoyedly pretend not to moon after him for a week. In both situations, sometimes Vox ends up giving up the ghost and functionally crawling his way back to Val, but more commonly Valentino decides that he's had enough and rather handily seduces Vox into a round of what Vox promises himself is hate sex and not makeup sex but is inevitably always very sappy makeup sex with a side of lovebombing.
This is. Arguably not that different of a flavor from what you're describing, haha, especially since a lot of Vox managing to be the one to break things off at any given point in time hinges on him being able to frame his rationale as "anger" rather than "upset," the latter of which just gets brushed under the carpet of Emotions That Are Not Taken Seriously. He can act on a great many things if he justifies them as something he is right to be objective and angry over, including outright killing Valentino at least once at some point in the past, but anything that makes him feel vulnerable or, ah, let's deliberately and pointedly use the word hysterical, is a pre-existing internal struggle that Valentino knows how to manipulate to his advantage.
The good news is that this lovely analysis inspired me to almost completely rewrite a section of the next 666 fic that I'd been dissatisfied with. I initially wrote Vox as annoyed; what he needed to be was Very Stressed And Upset in a way that distinctly refused to dare stray into anger because the fundamental concern was about what Alastor wanted - just as you described, Vox fumbling his own distress with his learned helplessness when it comes to intimate relationships. Anyway, now I'm WAY happier with it! So thank you very much for that!

Rating the Overlords in Hazbin Hotel:
#10: Valentino. Bitch ass motherfucker supreme. I want him to die and I want it to hurt the whole time he is dying. Fucking scumbag. Also IDGAF if he's a moth I will always maintain the headcanon that the sleazy prick is a pubic louse.
#9: That one blue firey skeleton dude in the meeting who didn't say anything. Has literally no characterization.
#8: Zeezi (that one pink and green lady at the meeting): Has literally no characterization but that color scheme is eye bleeding and I'm here for it.
#7: Rosie. Man she's cool and all, helpful to Charlie, friends with Alastor, but she just doesn't capture my interest the way the others do. Being the overlord of cannibals is a really niche thing it seems like compared to being in control of major forces that are fucking up society, I have a feeling she maintains her position because (a) she's smart, and (b) the other overlords don't really want her domain because taking eating human flesh to the level of an obsession is kind of dweeb behavior.
#6: Velvette. Horrible cringe zoomer iPad kid (or Millennial, I don't know). I absolutely love the fact that she showed up at the meeting and literally everyone else in the room was like "What's with this sassy... lost child?" Has so much potential though for her character to embody the absolute worst of internet culture. Next season I want to see Velvette trolling, going "L + Block + Ratio," and doxxing random sinners and getting them killed for her own entertainment.
#5: Carmilla Carmine. Awesome. I like seeing people in hell who are still people and not obsessed with becoming the most cartoonishly evil motherfucker possible because "hey we're already in hell, might as well get crazy." People can have friends, family, etc. and still do shit that gets them sent to hell. I'm getting "was leader of an organized crime family in life" vibes. Also has vibes of being one of the less horrible overlords to work for because she's emotional stable enough to know that being cruel to your minions for fun is bad for morale.
#4: Husk. Okay he's a former overlord but let's say Overlord Emeritus. He has my respect as an overlord for dying in like the 70s but choosing an absolutely classic vice to make his domain: drinking and gambling. Also the timeline here implies he rose to power when Alastor was already around. I wonder if there was a power vacuum because Al killed the previous overlord of gambling?
#3: Vox. I hate his cringey techbro ass but in a "I want to put this man in a jar and shake it vigorously" way. The fact that he actually enjoys Valentino's company is a major minus though. I kind of wanted to see a strained business relationship where he dislikes Val immensely but works with him because sex sells and Val has the market cornered. Also his voice is kind of... generic. I was really hoping for him to have a Mid-Atlantic Accent but of a more "mid-century TV anchor" type to make it extra clear how much he wants to rip off / replace Alastor and as a part of him that isn't as hip and modern as Mr. Died In the 50s wants to present himself as.
#2: Zestial. Hello Mr. Tall Dark and Mysterious. He is so fucking cool. I want so badly to believe that he and Alastor are genuinely friends and respect each other but also Alastor respects Zestial enough to want him to think he's cool, and when Zestial showed up Alastor internally panicked because of 'Oh shit my friend showed up while I'm being trailed by the lamest minions in hell, he's going to think they're mine this is so embarrassing!'
#1: Alastor. What a fucking guy. This man is being dragged kicking and screaming into character development and I am here for it.

Carmilla Carmine, an Angel?
(Warning for spoilers under the cut)
So I noticed two things instantly about Carmilla during her introduction in Scrambled Eggs. 1) She has the same exact color scheme as the Exorcists/Vaggie/the Seraphim (Grey skin with white hair), the only real difference in her colors to them, is her red demon eyes. 2) How she's immediately set up as a parallel to Vaggie
This doesn't seem like a lot to go on, but hear me out, what if Carmilla is a former angel just like Lucifer?
Those two things aren't my only reasons for thinking so, but they did lead me down a bit of a rabbit hole in regards to a few things about her and the only other true angels in hell. First of all, Carmilla, when she's singing Whatever It Takes with Vaggie, talks about protecting what's most important. But Carmilla refers to herself as her daughter's 'keeper'. I feel like this is a deliberate choice because of Cain and Able. Cain, after he kills able, very specifically tells god 'I am not my brother's keeper', aka, 'I am not responsible for him'. But Carmilla names herself her daughter's protector, that she is responsible for them and takes responsibility for keeping them safe when killing the Exorcist. This is also a contrast to Vaggie, who calls herself Charlie's *Armor*. Also to protect Charlie and keep her safe, but not take wholesale responsibility for her the way being her Keeper would be.
Another interesting thing to note about Whatever It Takes, Carmilla very specifically said she never wanted a fight. She 'crossed the line' solely to keep her daughters safe, though she mentions a genuine affection for Zestial as well. She also goes on to say that she has no idea who would survive the fight if they went into all out war with Heaven, and she does seem very concern about the number of sinners because of how that effects the Overlords. Seems like strange personality choices for an arms dealer considering it's her supplies that allow people to murder each other without restraint, but it does make sense when you compare her to Charlie, Vaggie, and Lucifer. Obviously demons can choose to care for others, as shown with Alastor and Rosie, and the playful banter between Zestial and Alastor, but Carmilla is very specific to what she believes in and who she loves and how she willing she is to care for others. Just like the other people we know for sure are angelic in nature; Charlie consistently crosses the line for her friends, Vaggie chose to cross the line for an Exorcist by allowing a child demon to live, and the entire reason Hell and Charlie exist in the first place is because Lucifer crossed the line in the first place.
Case in point, my next point about the further parallel between Vaggie and Carmille during Out For Love. We saw earlier during the trust exercise that Vaggie is extremely militaristic, and Carmilla shows the same hardcore sink or swim mentality. Demons can fight, obviously, we've seen it. Most of the demons we see however use guns or fight with magical abilities rather than actual martial arts, so it stands out that Carmilla does. It stands out more that she's a military woman. We do see Sir Pentitious take an active role as a military commander, but it's played more for laughs because a lot of his tactics are either ineffective or kind of silly (even his sacrifice is somewhat played for laughs (even though his friends take it deadly serious (as they should that's Good Writing))). Carmilla on the other hand is taken deadly serious as both a business woman and an arms dealer by the narrative even those Velvette tries to disrespect her. Carmilla further demonstrates her military mentality when she lets Vaggie in, but maintains control of the situation by telling Vaggie she has 'two minutes' and constantly reminds her of how little time she has. In fact she actively chooses to train Vaggie to fight by attacking her and explaining how stupidly angels fight after the fact. She even goes out of her way to get on Vaggie's level when she states she's never fought with long hair before, by letting her own hair down and still kicking the shit out of her. This is practically a trope in of itself that damaged former military types, especially those who worked for the enemy, are like that to the heroes.
(Also sidenote, Carmilla adopting Vaggie as her own when???)
And my earlier point about Carmilla choosing to fight for love, and how that makes her different, is also quite literally restated and reinforced by the song Out For Love. She tells Vaggie to dig deep and use her love and desire to keep her loved ones safe, her fear of losing them, as fuel to make her stronger and better and ends the song by Vaggie regrowing her wings. Which is fascinating to me because the other characters we see get actively stronger when they're fighting for the people they love and care for are Charlie and Lucifer.
Carmilla also does something very interesting during this scene that really stuck with me; She point blank stated that she already knew Vaggie was a former Exorcist. Literally no other character realized this, or even implied that they knew. I kind of find her reasons to be bullshit as well? 'You have an x over your eye', which we know for a fact that Exorcists have real faces under their masks and don't actually have X's for eyes. Vaggie got that after she lost hers and, well we haven't seen other demons lose limbs and how they handle that, it was very interesting that she stated that as one of the reasons. The other reason is even dumber 'You're carrying an angelic spear'. Carmilla you are literally an angelic weapon arms dealer. So, clearly, she had to have been able to guess what Vaggie.
(Another thing that really struck me is that we only hear Spanish out of two characters so far; Carmilla and Vaggie. This isn't really an indicator that Carmilla is an angel, considering we don't hear a lot of Spanish in Heaven, but with all this other stuff I Am Thinking About It.)
So, if I'm right, what is Carmilla doing in hell? And what's with her daughters? That point I think has to do with Zestial. Whether or not Zestial is actually fucking Carmilla (and the two of them would have good taste if they were- I am definitely shipping it) and is the father of Odette and Clara is irrelevant (but I like to think it is true), what is relevant, is how much trust and faith Carmilla places in him and how long they've known each other.
Carmilla is definitely a demon, angels don't have red eyes like she does as far as we can tell. Lucifer does have red eyes, but it's entirely possible he only got those after he fell. And he didn't become a demon willingly, he was forced into it, so only his irises are red. Carmilla, with her loyalty, her willingness to do whatever it takes, and her friendship with Zestial, I think she actively chose to become a demon and that's why all of her eyes are red. It's also stated that Sinner demons can't reproduce, only those Hellborn can have children, and we don't know if Angels can have their own children or not, but I assume 'yes' for now. So the two daughters Carmilla has? I think they're like Charlie with one caveat; Charlie was born after Lucifer and Lilith fell, I think Carmilla was pregnant with her daughters when she fell. I think she got pregnant, realized Heaven would either harm her daughters (if I'm right and Zestial is their father), or they would take her daughters away from her and throw her into hell without them. So she made the choice to walk away and seek a safe(r) haven in Hell. She made the mistakes to keep them safe, to keep the secret.
Whether I'm right or wrong on this, I'm very eager to see more of Carmilla she's already a personal fav of mine.

Everything I Noticed in Hazbin Hotel Pilot Pt. 1
By everything, I mean everything. From the stupid things I read too much into, to the things that have already been pointed out to you.
Eye imagery in the background.
We see a human figure fall from the sky. I assume this possibly means that sinners initially go to St Peter and fall from the sky into Hell if they are deemed a sinner.
In the silhouettes in the first few seconds I can make out Sir Petentious, Angel Dust, Cherry and maybe Mimzi?
When the girl is crying, the first two silhouettes that pop up seem to be Adam and Lute. The horn shapes resemble the ones on their masks really closely.
The other silhouette has to be Lucifer, with the hat shape.
Obviously Pentagram city surrounded by exorcist Angels.
Silhouette of Charlie at the line 'Why have I always been a failure?' with her dad lurking behind her. Which, makes sense as later she states that dad was right about her. He probably made it clear to her at some point her idea wouldn't work in his mind, making her feel like she was stupid for trying. Unsure if this is canon anymore, as it isn't on brand for their current relationship.
Hello Lute.
Also the exorcist angels behind her are covered in red, because sinners bleed red, not black.
FUCK YOU!! HEAVEN is written in red, I assume in blood. Definitely from an exorcist angel.
The banners and papers on the exorcist weapons that have exorcist imagery, with one even saying CLEANSE all over it. They genuinely believe they are cleansing Hell, and it kind of gives me 'Repent!' vibes. Don't know why.
Interesting to remember that the extermination count down wasn't always the hourglass, it was a giant clock tower.
Carmilla pilot design! I love seeing it. I like how her hair is half up half down but goodness I prefer her current design. She looks good regardless.
Aight so behind her we have Zestial, Missi Zilla and I actually think Lucifer. I looked at the Overlord meeting and genuinely couldn't find an overlord that looked similar to the silhouette there. Plus, the top hat and apple cane is just. That has to be Lucifer. Why is he there? No idea.
Not so much what I noticed but god I love seeing the Vees. Vox didn't change much from his pilot to his show design aside from colours. I love it so much. Valentino was given a fully fluffed antenna so good for him. Velvette has changed, pretty much entirely. Aside from colour scheme, really.
"Did you get my money Angie Baby?" "I'm wittha John now. I don't get why this needed to happen so soon after the extermination tho, Boss." "Just do it. No sass, k sugar." "yes, Val." Valentino made him go out basically right after to get what he needed- probably not caring too much if Angel actually got hurt or not if he stepped out too soon. Don't know.
I don't know which one is which between Carmilla's daughters- like which one is Clara and which one is Odette. One of them changed- a lot.
I doubt that that body in front of Rosie's Emporium is Franklin? But eh. Who knows. Also, hi Rosie.
Jackpot Hotel is behind the demons gather bodies. It's a cat themed casino. Maybe Husker's?
Roo (Root of All Evil) could be on the pillar with all the posters. Looks like a tree on her forehead too, and all the roots coming down the neck.
There are posters talking about 'Extermination Mandatory.'
Also, 'Resist' 'Lilith in Concert' is one of the posters on this pillar.
Love seeing Sir Petentiou's little crest beneath the control panel and I want a sticker.
Where did Cherry's other shoe go???
I love the snakes on the gold panels.
Yes, we have an egg holding a taser, one holding a wrench... But what was the guy in the back with the ruler thinking? And I'm laughing at the one that's flipping Cherry off.
