I literally love @blondeaxolotl ‘s red butler au so here’s my interpretation for how details from the jack the ripper arc would play out
- grell plays the role of a female butler to keep her gender presentation the same, so she isn’t trans in this au. her gender is the same as og sebastian’s (can be anything and nothing all at once) except she just chose a female body as her human form.
- her demon form is a bunch of blood-red sludge instead of black
- vincent gets married to angelina
- rachel and sebastian are the identity of jack the ripper. the ages of rachel and angelina are swapped. angelina’s og backstory is now rachel’s backstory and rachel has black hair instead of blonde. let’s call her “madam noir” cuz it sounds cool.
- she’s also in traditional victorian mourning attire all the time
- sebastian is a trans man.
- sebastian doesn’t actually have a first name (because i don’t wanna give him a deadname since grell doesn’t have one). rachel just calls him “ms. michaelis” while he’s disguised as a butler, and he introduces himself as sebastian during the jack the ripper fight
- sebastian and grell’s personalities are completely swapped, so sebastian’s the dramatic one.
- sebastian wears his stilettos everywhere and grell’s heels are flat
- just because he’s a guy doesn’t mean he can’t be ✨fabulous✨
- while disguised as a butler, he and grell are the same height
- sebastian steal rachel’s shawl when he kills her and wears it as a a scarf maybe? eh?
- sebastian’s motivations for teaming up with madam noir are just that he likes murder lol. and maybe he talks about how rachel’s soul is a dark as her hair or something.

Hellooooo shippers of all Marvel ships!
This marks the kickoff to HEA (Happily Ever After) Marvel’s Holiday Movie Challenge! If you don’t know us, we’re a group of crafty mods under the direction of our own personal Pepper Potts ( @betheflame ), so really, this is going to be great fun, and we hope that you’ll join us!
A brief intro to our event:
At no point do you need to sign up for this event. You are not beholden to post anything, even if you say that you will. This is a guiltless, fun event!
Pick a prompt, any prompt!
Interpret the prompt any which way you wish. We have prompt examples available for people to peruse on our blog and on our Discord, if you’re in need of a few examples.
Write (or art, podfic, or moodboard, etc.) any ship you want, even polyamorous relationships of any number or type (even if the prompts contain just two characters!).
Include additions from our badge list if you wish! They function like video game achievements (think World of Warcraft, or Xbox) and you will be rewarded with little achievement badges designed by the wonderful @kocuria that you can display anywhere you please.
The collection will open on November 1st and close on December 24th.
Around then we will provide a Google form to submit the badge info and other info for your fic.
BUT REMEMBER! All contributions to this event must have a Happily Ever After as per holiday movie standards (doesn’t mean there can’t be tons of angst and pain in the middle, though).

Disclaimer: The above plot summaries in the prompt list belong to numerous movies in the Hallmark catalogue. We do not claim to own them, and are not making any money off of this, nor are we being paid by Hallmark to run this event.
Additionally, as of December 14th, 2019, we are no longer associating with Hallmark even in name, due to their poor choice to cave to pressure and remove an advertisement of a gentle, loving same-sex kiss occurring at their own wedding. We cannot and will not abide that.

Smokey brand Select: Violent Delights
I was waxing nostalgic the other day about the Nineties version of Romeo and Juliet, about how much i actually like certain aspects of that film and absolutely abhor others. It got me pondering how much i unabashedly enjoy Shakespeare and many of the big screen adaption of “his” work. These things run the gambit of genre and i think it’s a ripe subject to kind of pick from. I mean, there are just so many ways to adapt this cats catalog and i figure i might as well pick out my favorites.
10. Forbidden Planet
Tumblr media
This movie ain’t great. It;s not. But love it anyway. I have a soft spot for those old timey, Fifties, monster flicks and Forbidden Planet is one of the best. It’s campy schlock, don’t misunderstand, but i used to watch this thing late night, right before regular TV went of air. It’s the worst, but i appreciate the fact that it’s true to its time and is one of the very, very, few adaptions of The Tempest. That play never gets the love it deserves.
9. Ophelia
Tumblr media
Ophelia is Hamlet from the perspective of his wife, Ophelia. It’s an interesting take on the Hamlet narrative, not really one of would gravitate toward if not for this ridiculously stellar cast, particularly Daisy Ridley. She kills the role as Ophelia and kind of makes you want to see where this version of the story goes. I definitely prefer the tragedy of Hamlet over this take on the narrative, but Ophelia definitely stands on it’s own and is totally worth a watch.
8. She’s the Man
Tumblr media
Listen, this is a guilty pleasure. She’s the Man ain’t great. It’s actually pretty terrible, but i love it for how earnest this film is in telling it’s story. An adaption of Shakespeare’s gender-swap farce, Twelfth Night, it’s one of the few, comedic, plays that got the big screen treatment and Amanda Bynes carries this whole goddamn movie as this version’s Viola. I actually miss when Bynes wasn’t crazy and just made funny, endearing, sh*t like this. I mean, who doesn’t love Big Fat Liar, you know?
7. Scotland, PA
Tumblr media
This is probably the most creative take on a Shakespeare property i have ever seen in my entire life. This is MacBeth, told as black comedy a la Fargo, set in a 1975  Pennsylvania fast food restaurant. Yeah. I’m not even going to go any further into it. This was one of the most ridiculous viewing experiences i’ve ever had and i loved  very second of it.
6. Hamlet
Tumblr media
I feel like this is a cheat, like there would be something different here. I actually pondered the Lion King because, technically, that’s a Hamlet adaption but, the more i thought about it, the more this one had to go on the list. It’s just that good. The1996 version of Hamlet, directed, screenplay written by, and starring Kenneth Branagh, is a whole ass classic. It’s a straight forward interpretation of the original play only updated with a nineteenth century aesthetic, which fits the narrative surprisingly well. This version of Hamlet is high f*cking art, man. It’s gorgeous in every way. The score, the costumes, the sets, the colors; All of it is a legitimate feast for the eyes. That said, this motherf*cker is four hours long so, you know, understand that sh*t going in. It;s worth, don’t misunderstand, it’s just real long in the tooth, man.
5. My Own Private Idaho
Tumblr media
Idaho is probably the bleakest film on this list. Gus Van Zant is pretty great at capturing the sordid, cruel, reality of the human experiences which makes his adaption of Shakespeare’s Henry tetralogy. I don’t much go for European history for reasons, but i dug this flick and how it kind of mutes all of the glamour and Victorian nonsense for a more guttural, street level, desperation. My Own Private Idaho is not an easy watch I t can be incredibly difficult to get through at times but that doesn’t mean it’s not a brilliant film. that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take on this challenge. The performance that River Phoenix gives, alone, is enough for admission. As dope as Joaquin is at his craft, River was definitely the superior talent and that is no more apparent than in this movie.
4. 10 Things I Hate About You
Tumblr media
The Taming of the Shrew is actually one of my favorite Shakespeare plays and this film, 10 Things I Hate About You, is one of the best versions of that narrative. This film is f*cking hilarious. It’s outstanding and unique and never strays from the heart of it’s inspiration. Plus, i mean, it’s got a young Heath Ledger just stealing all of the scenes. When you watch him in this, you know dude has all of the talent. This film is why i was completely okay with him as Joker when they announced it. Everyone else lost their sh*t but me? I remembered Ledger’s Patrick Verona and knew the role was in good hands.
3. Throne of Blood
Tumblr media
If i had to choose a favorite Shakespeare story, it’s definitely MacBeth. I love that sh*t. There’s intrigue, betrayal, violence, lust, and even a little magic; Everything you need to build an intriguing plot. Take the basic narrative and funnel it through a true master of film like Akira Kurosawa and you get a real classic like Throne of Blood. This is an old one, it dropped back in ‘57, but it’s worth a watch. Kurosawa was a true visionary in his craft and the way he was able to, not only adapt but elevate the source material? F*cking amazing, man. Y’all should watch more Akira Kurosawa, man. He’s one of the most influential filmmakers ever to do it and it’s for good reason. Also, f*cking more MacBeth adaptions, please? There are only, like, six. The f*ck, yo?
2. Romeo + Juliet
Tumblr media
I’ve already spoken about my love for this decidedly Nineties take on that classic, uncomfortably problematic, laughably toxic, romance that’s just rife with all of the tragedy and tropes. Why the double-dip? Because i love it THAT much! Tybalt, Mercutio, the aesthetic, that soundtrack; F*cking chef kiss, bro! If you’ve never seen this version of Romeo and Juliet, you don't love yourself enough.
1. Ex Machina
Tumblr media
Yeah, that’s right, this f*cking masterpiece of existential, cyberpunk dread, is based on Shakespeare, too! Motherf*ckers wouldn’t know because it’s kind of a deep cut but a lot of the themes from The Tempest, actually my second favorite Shakespeare outing, ring true to Garland’s narrative. I mean, do i really have to explain why i love this movie so much? Actually, i have. Repeatedly. My praise for this movie is rife throughout the backlog of this blog. This thing has made multiple of the Select lists because it’s so f*cking great. Obviously, it’s my favorite adaption but, more than that, like Throne of Blood, it’s just a great f*cking film by itself.
Honorable Mentions: The Lion King, Titus (1999), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1999), Men of Respect, Richard III (1995), Much Ado About Nothing (1993), Ran, MacBeth (2015), Coriolanus (2011), Get Over It

Random Bungou Stray Dogs AUs
In which my brain refuses to sleep and instead makes random aus in the middle of the night : part 2 electric boogalo
Some of these might not make sense, I'm not claiming otherwise. It's my brain having fun again. please send help. I'm mostly doing this to get it out of my system, but I hope you guys enjoy it. May contain spoilers.
Assassin!Fem!Atsushi meets a young orphaned homeless boy named Kyoka, who reminds her of her old self, after saving the said boy from a gang the mercenary/assassin was hired to eliminate. Kyoka met his saviour, who comes in the form of a beautiful lady with hair the colour of the moon and heterochromia eyes and turns to a graceful tiger under the moonlight. He decided to follow the lady after she gives him a reason to live. Atsushi becomes mentor and a familial figure as a result.
Oda Sakunosuke didn't expect to wake up again, especially in a cage, nor did he expect to become a tiger, who's also coincidentally a young orphan named Atsushi who's badly treated by basically everyone around him. He takes it to his duty to take care of the young boy, despite being a probably haunting spirit and the boy being probably his reincarnation, but hey, details. On the bright side, he's kind-of a tiger now? (Oda reincarnates as Atsushi, with a twist.)
Different abilities, and consequently, different roles and personalities au (not completely though). In which everyone's abilities are different and named under a different name based on a different book of the authors. Kyoka's Ruby Mist allows her to cast hallucinations/illusions of her target's worse fears/regrets/nightmares. Atsushi is now a doctor, but he looks like a patient Because his rare healing ability, Light, Wind and Dreams, can only activate when his patients are unconscious and he is injured. Kyoka sometimes help to knock them out, gleefully, and worries over the doctor/brother figure who gets too injured and tired for her own liking. Dazai, with his ability of the Setting Sun, probably has a bit (lot) of a crush on the young doctor, and worries for him just as much. Ranpo snickers. Kyoka and Atsushi met and joined ADA early.
Everyone is somehow related to one another. Fukuzawa has blood relations to Atsushi, Dazai and Ranpo are chaotic cousins, Yosano and the Tanizaki siblings are distant relatives, and no one can figure out how Kenji and Kunikida are related.
Abilities becomes humans as a result of an ability. (Inspired by Dead Apple) Abilities now have human forms and are sentient. Atsushi is baffled to see his look-alike that has tiger features with a foul mouth yet acts kinda overprotective over him, but he's still a little shit. Dazai's ability becomes a young woman who looks eerily like Dazai but has the personality of a calm and straight headed person who can manifest chains. Kyoka meets Yukinoshita/Demon Snow and talks to the kind lady/ability, who looks very similar to her mother. Kouyou joins with Golden Demon as well. Chuuya is baffled by Arahabaki, who politely requests popcorn and acts very regal, but is still very much amused by the turn of events. No one can tell Rashomon's gender (*looks at Gin*), but they're definitely calm and kinda Victorian? Very attached to their master. They don't mix well with Taiga (a foul-mouthed lone tiger who gets pissed 24/7 and has zero-manners), the beast, surprise surprise. No Longer Human, gets tired of having to restrain them sometimes so they don't destroy the cafe.
Karl isn't a raccoon, but a Tanuki thank you very much. The youkai get a kick of watching his owner baffled of his feelings to the green-eyed detective.
Soukoku, shin soukoku and their mentors swap places. Fukuzawa gets annoyed of Mori, a mafia member who has an uncharacteristic grudge on him and obsession with his sister(?), and becomes shin soukoku somehow. Akutagawa and Atsushi are now Soukoku and likes to snark to each other about edgy and punk hair and how they would love to see them riddled in bullets ("I hope you die via bullets!" "The feeling is mutual jinko."). Chuuya is tired, he's getting too old for this, Dazai is amused, no matter the age.
Sakura survives and inherits Odasaku's ability to see the future. She is now determined to somehow save people by her new-found ability while trying to push her traumatic memories away. She still misses her father and her siblings very much. She meets some detectives along the way, not knowing that the green-eyed one has met her father before, but the new detective with bandages seems familiar...
Atsushi's healing ability isn't his. He maybe a were-tiger, but his healing ability comes from someone else, who died trying to protect him. He only notices when he tries to find his parents, and finds out of of his family members has an ability, Light, Wind and Dreams, which they somehow transferred to Atsushi when he was a mere baby. He doesn't know how to react to this, now knowing he has two gifts.
More to come probably, knowing the mess that is my brain. Feel free to go crazy with these suggestions.

Someone on my Facebook friends list just said she wants to see more diversity with the new Dracula being made by Netflix...   I'm not against diversity but tokenism, swapping out established white characters with random black ones is not "diverse."   It's half-assed.    Remember th 2013 NBC Dracula that had a black Renfield? That worked out Sooooo well, didn't it? If you want diversity in this thing, make a new character, make several new characters.  It's a series after all, that's fine.   Write in new characters.  Be brave.  Instead of doing race swapping, be brave and make new characters.   Also a third of Dracula is set in isolated / rural Eastern Europe.   And the novel actually had many European minority characters, such as the Roma people (who only make up two percent of the population).   Abraham Van Helsing was a Catholic (which were considered an outcast minority in late nineteenth century England) and foreigner.   One of Lucy's suitors was an American Texan (Americans weren't exactly popular in nineteenth century British literature).  Also historians believe Renfield may have been an outlet for Bram Stoker's own homosexual attraction to Henry Irving (the actor whose physical appearance was used for Dracula's de-aged form description).  In the end the story usually only has Mina, Lucy, Jonathan, Abraham, Quincey, Dr. Jack Seward, and Lord Arthur Holmwood, Renfield and Dracula in the leads.     I'm all for diversity but I sincerely hope they don't mean they should casually change any of these characters races or sexual orientation / gender identity.  I think Dracula did a decent job of addressing the social roles of the era. The original Dracula even brings up the early feminist movement with Mina denying that she is one of them and yet she was learning shorthand (which was practically another language), and she knew how to type, and how to operate early voice recording device.  She held a job.  And to top it all of she traveled across Europe unescorted in an era where it was considered improper for a woman to even go to the market without an escort.       Diversity is great but don't force it.   NBC tried that and we ended up with an obnoxious, "empowered' med student Mina who later obliterated the illusion that she stood for feminism when she apologized to Jonathan Harker for getting angry at he and his friends talking about how once Jonathan gets promoted she can be a proper housewife.   And Renfield was a large black man, which was a really, really bad idea... As I said, if you want more diversity, make new characters.  I loved the Lesbian private investigators in Steven Moffat's Jekyll (2007).   New characters are great.  Use them. Don't be lazy by just doing unrequired character-swapping.
However if characters are changed, may I suggest just making Renfield’s attraction to Dracula more obvious.    It’s not likely wealthy Lucy’s suitors would be very diverse in Victorian England.   Jonathan Harker and Mina could be biracial or black but it’s a stretch.  And Van Helsing is a Dutch-German Catholic with a heavy accent.  That’s hard to change without looking like you’re going for Young Dracula (BBC kids show).  New characters might be better.  Hell, maybe Jonathan Harker is the reincarnation of Dracula’s lost love (I know that’s not in the novel but it’s a popular trope now).  That could be a fun twist. Or Maybe Lucy is infatuated with Mina.   A bisexual Lucy could be fun.

Behind Her Eyes: the Dubious Messages Behind its Finale Twist
https://ift.tt/3s2mzFI
Warning: contains major spoilers for the Behind Her Eyes finale
Behind Her Eyes is the perfect duplicity-hinting title for a series that conceals what it is until the very end. The name works both for the psychological adultery thriller that this Netflix adaptation presents as, and for the supernatural story it’s really telling.
Because what’s behind her eyes, in this instance, is him. She is beautiful, wealthy Scottish heiress Adele, played by The Luminaries’ Eve Hewson. He is working class, Glaswegian heroin addict Rob, played by Game of Thrones’ Robert Aramayo. They meet as teenagers at rehab after the death of Adele’s parents, and realise that they share the ability for their souls to leave their bodies while they sleep and ‘travel’ to other places to spy on other people’s lives.
‘I love this place, I’d stay forever if I could’
Rob, who identifies as gay, isn’t content just to be a voyeur; he wants a permanent change. Obsessed with Adele for her looks, wealth and adoring fiancé David (Beecham House’s Tom Bateman), Rob manipulates her into using their power to swap bodies, then kills her and takes over her identity. He leaves his life behind to live hers, and is prepared to do anything to keep hold of it.
That includes pulling the same trick a decade later. David and Rob-as-Adele move to London for the latest in a string of fresh starts, and David starts an affair with his secretary Louise (Kiss Me First’s Simona Brown). David has been unhappy in the marriage for years, but won’t leave for fear of being implicated in the death of ‘Rob’, which he helped to cover up. Rob-as-Adele uses his astral projection power to spy on the affair from the start, and forms a plan.
As luck would have it, Louise also shares the rare soul-travelling power, which enables Rob to stage Adele’s suicide, swap bodies with Louise, and re-marry David posing as her newly stolen identity. Now in the body of another woman he’s tricked and killed, conscience-free Rob ends the series with everything he ever wanted: a new life, David, and through marriage, Adele’s money.
‘Nothing about that life I want back’
It’s a malevolent ending made all the more cruel by the existence of Louise’s seven-year-old son Adam, who knows instantly that there’s something very different about his mother after Rob takes over her body. The story ends with two women murdered, a man deceived for years about who he’s married to and having sex with, and a child’s mother replaced by the person who killed her – all so that one person can greedily live a life they coveted.
It’s a surprising ending, not just for its audacious supernatural twist, but also because of how unusually out of touch it feels with modern sensibilities. However inadvertent, the conclusions it seems to reach about gay male sexuality, trans identities and the working class threat to the wealthy all feel centuries out of date. Granted, Behind Her Eyes is a supernatural fantasy/pulp thriller, not a documentary or manifesto, but its story choices reinforce harmful myths with real-world consequences.

Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes Ending Explained
By Louisa Mellor
The idea, for instance, that gay men routinely sexually predate on heterosexual men and deceive them into sex is a corrosive one. The Gay Panic Defence has historically been used to exonerate perpetrators of violent, homophobic attacks, and the work of dismantling the myths that shore it up is ongoing. Even in a pulpy, fictional fantasy setting, showing a gay man tricking his duped heterosexual partner into sex feels… unhelpful.
Rob’s deception is made possible by a gender-transitioning body swap, a plot point impossible not to view in terms of trans identities in 2021 (or in 2017 when the book on which the show is based was published). At no point does Behind Her Eyes suggest that pre-swap Rob is a trans woman; he’s a gay man who coveted Adele’s life. Showing a character changing their birth gender for self-serving reasons of greed and personal gratification plays into the worst tabloid scaremongering. Rob’s villainy strengthens transphobic narratives about deception and misrepresentation.
‘What’s it like to be so fucking rich and so fucking pretty?’
One of the biggest surprises in this show’s sensational twist ending is its almost Victorian fear of the working class, largely represented by Rob. From Ebenezer Scrooge to Mr Burns, it’s practically a consensus in fiction that rich people are life’s baddies. Outside of 19th century pamphlets, villains tend to be taken from the one percent and heroes from the plucky underclass. At the very least, working class villains are granted a Joker-style revenge motive, a traumatic catalyst for why they want to eat the rich. Not here.
Rob (not just any member of the working class, but – as an impoverished heroin addict with a troubled background from a Glaswegian tenement – a full bingo card of poverty cliche) has no revenge to take against blameless Adele. She doesn’t patronise him or use her wealth to humiliate him. He simply sees what she has, wants it and takes it. It’s greed, and the body-theft a supernatural metaphor for the threat that the wealthy have historically perceived as coming from the ‘parasitic’ poor.
The same paranoia is seen in the show’s plot thread about farm boy David having been suspected of starting the fire that killed Adele’s parents. And again in the scene where Rob-as-Adele tries to buy heroin from an Islington estate and is immediately attacked by a gang. Even in working class Louise’s affair with her now-rich boss, it’s the same pattern: the poor take from the rich.
‘You kind of have this fairy tale life’
Rob’s obsession with wealth blinkers him to reality. He myopically sees Adele and David’s life only as a flawless fairy tale, callously dismissing Adele’s loneliness and the traumatic deaths of her parents. When Adele first teaches him the ability to quell his nightmares and control his dreams – a gift for which he is supremely ungrateful – Rob conjures up a manor house, a cravat and a butler. Upon his arrival at Adele’s estate, he immediately goes into an exaggerated role play as the lord of the manor. Wealth, status and being loved are his obsessions.
Later, in London, Rob-as-Adele’s fixation on beauty and appearances see him dressing almost entirely in white (the colour of the rehab uniform in which he first met, and idolised, Adele) and spending his life maintaining her athletic body and magazine-spread house.
Rob’s priorities are, to say the least, warped. He’s so desperate to escape his lonely working class roots that he does unthinkable things, behaving with brutal selfishness and a total lack of conscience. That all makes sense – he’s the villain.
And in a perfect and equal world, gay men, trans women and impoverished working class addicts have just as much right to be the messed-up, dangerous villain in stories as anyone from a less vulnerable social group. In a perfect and equal world, that kind of portrayal couldn’t harm anybody or affect their safety. But we don’t yet live in a perfect and equal world. By choosing this particular villain, and crafting this particular ending, Behind Her Eyes has either optimistically jumped several steps ahead in representation, or taken a lengthy stride backwards.

It;s actually pretty terrible, but i love it for how earnest this film is in telling it’s story.
The 1996 version of Hamlet, directed, screenplay written by, and starring Kenneth Branagh, is a whole ass classic.

Hi there! My name is Noam. I’m 22, use they/them pronouns, and I’m looking for a partner for an RP in the Star Wars, Animorphs, Naruto, or Marvel fandoms.
A little bit more about me: I’m a big science fiction fan, and I love world-building, banter, and platonic relationships between characters (though I’m certainly not anti-shipping by any means). I have a fairly time-consuming job, so my free time is limited, but I will be able to reply at least twice a week if we’re doing longer posts, or every other day for shorter ones. My post lengths can vary—sometimes it’s appropriate to write only a few sentences, sometimes multiple paragraphs. I RP via e-mail at [email protected]
I’ll happily write relationships between characters of any and all genders, but in general, romance isn’t my biggest priority while writing. I’m not opposed to smut, but I’m also not sure how good I am at writing it! If it happens, it happens, but I don’t want it to be the main focus of the story, and I’m totally fine with having a fade-to-black or just no sex at all. I will not write smut with anyone under 18, nor will I write smut that involves an underage character.
I’m trans & gay myself, so if you want to have an LGBT OC, or an LGBT interpretation of a canon character, I’m totally down for that. (Or more colloquially: everyone in Star Wars is trans, fucking fight me)
If you’re interested, you can e-mail me at [email protected]!
The Fun Stuff (i.e., what I actually write):
Note that I have plot ideas for all these fandoms, and we can also come up with something together!
I’m very OC-friendly, please introduce me to your characters! I also enjoy doubling, mostly because I like group dynamics rather than for shipping reasons, but it’s definitely not required. I’ll ship pretty much anything, with a few exceptions that I’ll note as they come up.  I seriously love any kind of AU—modern, high fantasy, Victorian, role-swap AUs, lay it on me.
***Star Wars: I’ve always been a Star Wars fan, and with the new movies coming out, I’ve gotten back into the fandom in a major way. I’m mostly looking for something set during the original trilogy/Rogue One or the sequel trilogy years, because those are what I have plot ideas for. If you’ve got an interesting idea for the prequel years, though, I’m game!
Playing: Finn, Poe Dameron, Rey, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, Bodhi Rook, Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, Chirrut Imwe, Rose Tico, OCs.
Plots:
-Two Stormtroopers plot to escape from the First Order together. One of them wants to join the Resistance, while the other wants to escape and start an ordinary life somewhere far away from the war, but they can’t bear to be separated.
-[Vague TLJ spoilers] In the wake of the events of The Last Jedi, Rey and Finn are sent out to recruit allies for the Resistance—after all, a budding Jedi and an escaped Stormtrooper make for one hell of an advertisement. As their legend spreads, they’re contacted by someone who believes that they may know the truth about one (or both) of their families.
-[Rogue One AU] The mission to Eadu never happens, and Galen Erso lives to see his weapon destroy Scarif. The crew of the Rogue One survive, but only because they’re captured by the Empire before the whole planet explodes. Bodhi Rook is immediately imprisoned in the Death Star’s brig, pending interrogation and what will undoubtedly be a very public execution. Jyn Erso is imprisoned on the Death Star as well, because the Empire believes that she may be used as leverage against her father. And Cassian Andor, unconscious and dressed in an Imperial Officer’s uniform, is assumed to be a loyal agent of the Empire and taken to the medical wing. The three friends must find each other and escape, before the secret of Cassian’s identity is uncovered or Bodhi breaks under torture—and before the Rebels destroy the Death Star, with them still on it.
(Note: we can absolutely change who and how many people survive, this is just the first idea I had.)
-A member of the Resistance is contacted by a First Order officer looking to defect. The First Order officer is their sibling, who they haven’t seen since their own defection years ago. Their comrades had no idea that they were descended from a family of extremely wealthy and high-ranking First Order and Imperial officers, and their sibling had no idea that they were still alive.
**Animorphs: On the off-chance that anyone in this tiny fandom is active on this site, I’d love to do an Animorphs RP!
Playing: Any of the six Animorphs, Tom Berenson, Aftran 942, Eva, OCs
Plots:
-Instead of becoming trapped as a nothlit, Aftran gains the morphing power instead, becoming the seventh Animorph. It goes better than David, but that’s still not saying much.
-The Animorphs are contacted by the Yeerk Peace Movement, who want to work with the “Andalite bandits” to bring down the Empire once and for all. With the intelligence that the YPM have gathered, and their access to Yeerk bases and ships, the war for Earth could be over inside of a month. However, the YPM know of the Animorphs’ brutal reputation, and demand a show of trust to ensure that they’re not all slaughtered. If the Animorphs want to work alongside the Yeerks, one of them will have to become a Controller…
-Instead of the canon Animorphs, our OCs find the morphing cube and a dying Elfangor instead! Listen, I never said that I was above wildly self-indulgent plots, that’s like the entire point of RPs.
*Marvel: I’m not as interested in Marvel these days, so this would have to be a really good plot. Mostly interested in X-Men (movies or comics). Mutant worldbuilding outside of the X-Men is always welcome.
Playing: Clint Barton, Sam Wilson, Matt Murdock, Scott Summers, Ororo Munroe, Bobby Drake, Kitty Pryde, Logan, Laura Kinney, Kurt Wagner, Erik Lehnsherr, OCs
Plots:  -[spoilers for Logan movie] Logan survives the border crossing, and makes it to the Canadian safe house with the kids, only to discover that it’s run by his old student, Kitty Pryde. The two friends reunite and settle in to a quiet life protecting the last mutant children—only to be immediately caught up in a mystery when one of them goes missing, along with a human child from a nearby town. The mutants are blamed for the missing child, and Kitty and Logan set out to find the kids before mob mentality can threaten their tiny community.
-Somebody in New York City is killing mutants, and the NYPD’s only mutant homicide detectives are on the case.
*Naruto: Pretty much only looking for OCs, as I’m not that confident with any of the canon characters’ personalities. However, I still have a soft spot for the Naruto universe, so I’d love to do a roleplay set there!
-A genin team are saddled with an incredibly boring D-rank mission—delivering medicinal herbs to a small monastery in the mountains. Trouble arises when they discover that the monks are harboring a wounded enemy shinobi—and, being devout pacifists, they’re unwilling to surrender him.
-Shinobi A is wounded in battle, presumed dead by their comrades, and left behind in a harsh environment (snowstorm, desert, whatever). As they struggle to find shelter, they come across Shinobi B, who has also been wounded and abandoned—and is from an enemy country. The two quickly realize that the only way for them to survive their injuries and their environments is to work together, at least temporarily.
