So lil headcanon

I kinda imagine that in life, Annabel did have a dog.

But one of those properly trained, proper and fluffy dogs.

Like, either a Samoyed, a American Eskimo or a

Alaskan Malamute dog.

One of the three, or all.

But they were properly trained and anytime, if she owned only one, it would sit next to her and not only protect her but as if it were a statue.

A good boy/girl!

But…the moment Lenore enters Annabel’s life and home..the moment Lenore is in the dogs view…

It goes from Proper. Fancy still dog to Happy tail wagging and tongue flying out as it buffs and runs into Lenore’s arms “Dads here! Dads here! Oh my goodness!”

It BOUNDS its way towards Lenore and Lenore just laughs and opens her arms to hug or catch the pupper.

Annabel is just all huffy because she never gets to see this side of the dogs and sees them as favoring Lenore but Lenore just sits with Annabel and the dogs follow and snuggle with both of them, as long as no one else is there.

I used to groom/babysit dogs and we had a regular, a pit bull named, i shit you not, Tank. He was dark brindle and his parents fostered other rescue pit bulls. Tank's job was to teach them how to be pets before they went to their forever homes and he was very good at his job. He'd teach them about stairs, and that vacuums weren't that scary, and how to get the good scritchies.

Tank was a very good boy.

looked at my allergy list n realized that i am less allergic to cats than dogs... might have to get a cat (cats are a class 4 while dogs are a class 6 which is the highest class apparently :-/)

The weirdest thing just happened.

I regularly see a lady walking a friendly border collie when I'm walking home after work and I often think how nice it would be to pet that dog, but I've never actually stopped to ask her if I could because I don't want to be a bother.

This morning, I thought to myself "Today, I WILL pet that dog. When I cross paths with the lady in the evening, I will ask permission and then I WILL pet her dog." Then I came home from work a few hours early because it's Friday and I completely forgot until about an hour ago and I was instantly disappointed I didn't get the chance because I had a rough week and petting a nice dog would have really cheered me up.

Just now, that same lady knocked on my door to ask if I was the owner of an illegally parked car around the corner. She stayed back while we talked but her dog REALLY wanted to come inside.

So I got to pet the friendly border collie A LOT. And Taboo even got to sniff her little snout. Today is a good day.

Doing art with my little man!! 🥰 🐶 He pretty much keeps me motivated. His Human momma passed away recently so he is pretty depressed. I’m trying to make sure he stays comfortable and giving him so much love! The problem is my grandma doesn’t like animals, including dogs so I have to make sure he doesn’t get in her way. But she’s slowly warming up to him, I can tell! 😉

Also this is a pencil sketch of La Conner, Washington. It was really gorgeous up there!
