Hey all,
There's a blog called @worstpostsonhere going around reblogging random posts from people's blogs, mostly involving astrology but other topics pop up too. Most of these posts are harmless or specific to fandom spaces. No one deserves to be targeted for things like that.
For example, they reblogged a random ask from me about astrology headcanons for a fictional character. It was all in good fun, and did not involve saying or doing anything harmful to anyone. But their whole concept seems to be shaming people for posting about things they don't like.
If you want to protect your blog from this nuisance, I'd suggest preemptively blocking them on all of your blogs. I personally don't care if someone views me as cringe for enjoying myself in a space that I curate for myself, but that doesn't mean that I'll tolerate people doing this kind of thing.
Protect your space. 💜

Pretty boy getting a ride 🩼🚙💨
Purely self indulgent thing. I broke my leg recently and was told I should draw Steve in a cast too, not to feel so lonely and I did 🤭

I don't mean this to be insensitive, but if you always assume the worst about people and that's reflected in your belief that a flawed, fictional character can't change (especially if that character did canonically change) and that outlook is projected onto the people in fandom (you don't personally know) who like that character, then you probably have some trauma that you need to work through and that's no one else's responsibility within the fandom space but your own to resolve.

This is just some general fandom advice…
Don’t worry about your follower count in any fandom. Don’t measure your worth in relation to the perceived popularity of another person in the fandom. Don’t demand interaction from people you’ve never taken the time to get to know beforehand. Any relationship you have with another person in fandom takes effort. It’s okay if your interests change. You can have different opinions from your mutuals. You can have different preferences in shipping dynamics. You can like different styles of writing and art. Etc.
Don’t force conformity on yourself or on others. It will just make everyone miserable. Don’t put anyone in the position where they feel like they can’t say or do anything but appease you. It is not anyone’s job to be a perfect model of a fandom member 24/7. Build your own friend groups in fandom before seeking out the most “popular” people to befriend. Fandom is what you make it and making it meaningful takes time and effort. It’s not just handed to you.
You are not obligated to like or follow any one person. You are not obligated to share the same headcanons. You are not obligated to speak on topics you don’t want to. You are not obligated to publicly like or dislike certain characters or stories or whatever. Engagement is a choice. If you feel like you’re not able to make the choices you want in a fandom, then you need to evaluate whether or not that’s because people are truly forcing you to hold a certain position in fandom or if you’ve forced it upon yourself and perhaps other people.
The obsession with occupying a specific role in fandom and wanting to be perceived a certain way by fandom peers and the curation of those peers to most benefit you personally and so on and so forth - that’s not fun. That’s exhausting. For everyone. If I thought about how people perceive me in any given fandom, I wouldn’t sleep. It would plague me. I can’t control whether or not people like me or the stuff that I contribute to fandom so there’s no point in tormenting myself or others about it.

Big Name anything is horrible for fandom. Don't put your favorite creators on a pedestal just because they have good art or a lot of followers because you never know what kind of person they are in real life.
Also? Do you know how much it sucks to have people never wanting to be your friend because they just like you as a person, but wanting to be your friend because they want something from you?
Imagine only being a commodity.

Genuinely, what is going on with this fandom? I've not been as active as I'd like to be, because this year I've been incredibly busy with work. I would love to spend more time enjoying this space with my peers, especially the fanworks you all spend a great deal of time and energy doing with minimal compensation. I feel guilty at times that I'm not able to do that.
With that said, every time I come back for a little bit it's as if someone has completely lost the plot as to why we're here. We are here to support those who are constantly beat down by the narratives that are supposed to entertain us. We are supposed to be the ones subverting those narratives and helping other people see that people are complicated.
I get that we all can be a bit messy, too. I know that we're not all perfect - but continually, I find out that there are people here more concerned with clout chasing or associating one's self with "the right people" rather than getting to know and understand that PEOPLE make up this fandom with their own thoughts and feelings.
It is not acceptable to enter into these spaces with prejudices against any marginalized person. It is not acceptable to coerce people into saying or doing something for you, especially berating them in the process. It's not acceptable to make people out to be bullies for simply disagreeing with you. It is not acceptable to create a toxic environment.
TERFs aren't welcome. Anyone dedicated to the systematic oppression of any one of our peers isn't welcome here. These are hard rules. We cannot. We cannot. We cannot tolerate intolerance. This is just common sense. As soon as you align yourself with these kinds of people, we all lose. Stop giving them space in this fandom.
I think people must get confused because we try our best to understand why people say and do what they do, but we shouldn't let our empathy make us vulnerable to fundamentally changing who we are to benefit bigots. If you are a bigot and/or you're only here to make yourself look more powerful and important then I have two words for you:
Fuck off.

The fact that of all four of Vecna’s victims Patrick has the least screentime? Deserves jail I think?

He should have been front and center. Actually he should have gotten to throw a basketball at Vecna’s head.

Billy almost flinched at the hand on his shoulder, he wanted to scream at Hopper to get his fucking hand off him. He just shrugged it off instead, rolling his shoulders back. He couldn’t help the chuckle that left his mouth, startling everyone. “Cap-” “What do you people want? A thank you? You all should have left me in that damn fucking ice.” He snapped, blue eyes turning cold as he stepped forward. Guns immediately were lifted up as if to aim and shoot. Yes, shoot me… kill me. You should have never brought me back. The ice was my prison, my grave. Don’t you all know better than to disturb the dead? When Steve meets Billy, he's like the sun eclipsing his moon. Billy shines brighter and bigger than he ever did as king. He's taken in by Billy's gravitational pull, no matter how much he tries to escape it.
Those rays of his burn Steve from the outside in, setting his mood on fire but he hasn't felt this alive in a long time. There's a warmth in his core that he can't deny brings him some comfort. Joy.
He'd been floating aimlessly in the cold dead space of his mind before Billy came along that he almost welcomed the fiery quips and shoves, the heat of Billy's skin brushing against his own.
The night is Steve's domain. Unable to sleep, he circles the block in his car a few times hoping it will lull him before driving off into the woods when that fails.
He finds a body because of course he does, not far from a familiar car. Nothing normal ever happens here, especially at night. Especially on his watch. He brushes the hair away from Billy's face.
Bruises and cigarette burns decorate Billy's skin like sun spots and solar flares when Steve finds him in the dark quiet of the night. And Steve's angry, so angry. And he doesn't know why.
How dare the sun disturb his night? No. That can't be it, because why is he checking for a pulse. Why is he pulling a groggy Billy who stirs awake to his feet? Why is he taking him to his car?
It's the first of many nights that Billy shares a bed with him. Always in his orbit. He can never escape. But the night comes when Steve curls around him. Blankets him with his own body.
Billy is his sun. His sun, and he is Billy's moon. He thinks of the eclipse as no longer a competition for space, but a time... a special time when two lovers can embrace in peace.
In honour of the solar eclipse, Sun Billy Hargrove and Moon Steve Harrington
That's it, that's all I got
