Vaughn’s sensitive skin and eyes bars him from flight on bright sunny days. He has photochromic glasses which help him with his sight and reduce the risk of getting blinded when he needs to fly. At first glance, the crow comes off as aloof and quiet. He is guarded around people and hides behind a constant calm image. However, once comfortable, he can be quite friendly and talkative. He enjoys indulging in his curiosity and can get easily distracted by random rabbit holes he tends to fall into. He is especially more animated and expressive around Hawkes. Despite being at peace with his white feathers, Vaughn cannot help but feel a twinge of envy whenever he sees a set of dark or black feathers.

Vaughn is the youngest of 3 siblings and was born into a notable family of crows known for pioneering a special kind of craft which are mostly represented by a special type of sword. Being born with white feathers had caused a scandal within his family and community whose superstitious eyes saw him as a bad omen. Hence, Vaughn had a really rough childhood. An incident with another family and dyeing his feathers black pushed Vaughn’s mother to send him away to live with his aunt in a new town where he’ll meet Hawkes. The two of them had a rough start with Hawkes mistaking him for a dove initially which offended Vaughn. However, over time their relationship evolved from friendly rivalry to friends to lovers. A lab accident during one of Vaughn's ambitious tests caused the two scars on his face and Hawkes losing his right wing. He feels extremely guilty about it and constantly blames himself.

I feel like Nick and Charlie are the type of couple to go down to asda and get the little make your own cupcakes with stickers on them, and then go home and bake. one of them would obviously end up covered in flour. then they'd both just like sit down with these insanely childish cupcakes and nick would scoff like 4 while watching Disney movies and encouraging Charlie to try some :)

little nice things of the day:

it snowed this morning (the first proper snow of the year!) and i live right next to a park, so i had an amazing view from my window and even got to go out for the world's shortest walk in the snow, despite my chronic illness continuing to fuck me over

i've got these pink purple & blue fairylights that i've had for a while, but i've now started to keep them lit throughout the day instead of saving them for special occasions, which makes my room like 389% cosier. bisexual lighting!

woke up with a pretty bad cold, but then i got sudafed from the supermarket and it actually worked? my sinuses are freeeeee
