Fushimi who rides his chariot of the sun to bring daylight and Munakata who rides his chariot of the moon to bring nighttime.
And they always meet at dusk, where Fushimi keeps wondering why this guy won’t leave him alone and keeps wanting to talk instead of taking care of the moonrise like he’s supposed to. Fushimi riding the chariot of the sun is a bit amusing, like he brings the daylight but he also hates it, too much sun is so annoying and bright and makes his eyes hurt. Even so this is his duty, to make sure the sun rises each morning and sets each evening and to Fushimi this is all he has, this boring duty that will continue on forever.
Except there is one person who he speaks with regularly and who he perhaps looks forward to, just a bit, and that’s Munakata and his chariot of the moon. While the sun always hurts Fushimi’s eyes there’s something soft and comfortable in the sight of the moon, with Munakata there on his chariot. Normally when bringing the sunset Fushimi never bothered with the moon at all but one day maybe there’s an eclipse and that’s when they meet for the first time, Munakata bringing the moon to cover the sun and introducing himself to Fushimi with a bow. Fushimi hadn’t even thought much about the fact that there could be someone like him but opposite, someone whose only duty is to sunrise and sunset, and it caught him off guard. He recovered quickly enough and clicked his tongue, wondering what a flashy guy like this is doing bringing the moon, and Munakata only smiled and noted that such a dazzling person is bringing the sun, how excellent.
Fushimi never really understands what Munakata means by that because Fushimi’s never thought of himself as dazzling, he’s just a small shadow on the sun. But Munakata keeps seeking him out every sunset after this, as if waiting for Fushimi to pass the weariness of the day on to him so that Munakata can bring the refreshing night. If Fushimi was being honest he might admit that he waits all day for sunset and that he sleeps better now knowing that Munakata’s night is watching over him but of course he’ll never admit such a thing. Instead he meets Munakata every day at dawn and dusk and they sit together and watch sunset and moonrise, moon set and sunrise, and his duty doesn’t seem quite as annoying as it used to.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
