FORGIVENESS BY ALICE GLASS!!!!!!! OUGHOUGHOGH I LOVE THIS SONG WITH ALL MY HEART god something about it just vibrates my insides and tickles my eyes. I dont know how to describe it other than each time I hear this song I feel nothing but pure power and hopelessness at the same time. Drifting along in never ending darkness, and the only thing you have with you are the spirits and memories of those who have passed. The spirits call for freedom. You should listen to them. This song gets real for me alright?

YESSSSS YESSSSS I GET TO RAMBLE ABOUT ANOTHER SONG The World Is Ending by Matt and Kim !!!!!!!!!!!!! good GOD this song is so dear to me. Not because of the song really, but because of what the song means to me? The connections I have too it?????? Longish story short, someone made a killer AMV using it? The AMV using clips from the show Final Space! No clue if you have seen the show but no matter. Final Space is definitely up there as one of my favorite shows, not only because its good but because it actually helped me get closer with my dad, we watched it together! In other words I associate this song with just so much joy. The AMV if you were curious btw!

... honestly? Any song in a tv show that is played during a sad scene! A REALLY sad scene... one that comes to mind is Enter One by Sol Seppy (would recommend skipping to about 2:30), because it is played in the death scene of one of my all time favorite characters... alright im going to weep about that death scene more now because listening to this again is NOT helping pfft... oughh honestly now im tempted to add it to the 2AL playlist... maybe.

#1 - Celebrate. This is the song that introduced me to the band and gives me SUCH a blast of nostalgia each listen, and it shows. Best song in the album by far. Its so weird though since I knew this song before I knew about the rest of the album, so when I finally discovered the whole album each time this song comes up its so out of place pfft! Still such a bop though!
#2 - Blind Valentine. This is just one of those songs I love singing too whenever it comes on alright!?????
#3 - Lie Lie Lie. This is the first song in the whole album, and honestly? What a knee slapping way to start an album too god damn!!!!

Ok. Adventure Time by Yoann Turpin. I am usually not too big on 16 bit video game sort of vibes but this??? Is such a MASSIVE exception. Holy????? THE HEART THE GUY PUT INTO THIS SONG MAN. The beat is just so unique, its impossible to try and guess whats going to happen in the song next, you strait up feel like you are on an ADVENTURE. I am so here for this song, god and its so upbeat I am in LOVE.
By the way, I linked the whole ass album because the whole album overall is so nice to listen to to pump you up when doing dishes or something lmaooooo, the first song in the album is also an amazing trip!!

Phleps by C418!!! C418, the producer of the original music behind minecraft, but the guy has so much underrated personal music that is SO underrated! This song in particular, is vastly different from his usually stuff and I love it for that. Definitely underrated for being overshadowed by his work on minecraft and his work that isnt minecraft but sounds like minecraft..

i have NO idea how to use cakewalk so things are VERY OUT OF SYNC and dont rlly line up w eachother and AGH just. yeah this is not a finished product its mostly just the wip of a wip of a concept ya know. its almost 10am i havent slept i feel like im.rotting.

ok first one is obviously very gordon-centric bc its the resonance cascade yada yada yada like the concept of a rescas song is fun but i can see it being very Big very Epic VERY cheesy and campy. this meaty sounding electric guitar with some fun lil synth leads u know the drill, stuff that just oozes sci-fi tht takes itself way too seriously but is still a lot of fun. its obv gonna be longer thats kinda just a tidbit of a larger idea, where it gets more n more climactic n then BOOM epic momence
second one is xen, obviously. this one kinda leads into a song kinda doesnt. i can see it playing as they enter the portal n are sorta coming to terms with their situation, the rest of the musical is VERY silly but this is a kind of somber moment w a bit of weight to it like yeaaa things are FUCKED but then it goes back to silly when benrey appears. this tune will kinda play throughout the entirety of the beginning conversation before ramping up and then boom, song happens, u get the drill. benreys a very mysterious eerie kinda dude so tunes focusing on him and him Alone are gonna reflect that. lots of low droning synths and strings with twinkly piano or harp. some synth as well

1. the predatory wasp of the palisades is out to get us! by sufjan stevens
i chose this song because it’s all about internalized homophobia and being in love with your best friend as a kid which RLLY resonates w jotakak imo. esp cause in the song, stevens’ friend ends up leaving abruptly, leaving stevens to wonder about what couldve blossomed if they had stuck together and worked through the difficulties together, which JOTARO....THAT IS JOTARO-CORE esp cause kak also “leaves” (dies). so this song was a v obvious choice for me and in fact this song is what inspired me to create this playlist in the first place
2. we are beautiful, we are doomed by los campesinos!
this song is abt being in love with someone but you both have ur issues so it’s kind of a mess. considering jotaro and kakyoin’s (to point it quite frankly) trauma and the fact that both of them do jack shit to try and cope with it healthily, this song DEFINITELY fits them. esp cause this song mentions physical fighting and the imagery that goes with it (”he got his teeth fixed/im gonna break them”, “i’ve got a fist on fire”, etc) and the entirety of the bridge/last verse rlly gives me these two’s vibes so! ya (:
3. love love love by of monsters and men
this song is the singer feeling like shes completely unworthy of being loved by this important person in her life, particularly because she has NO idea how to show affection and love the (for lack of better word) “acceptable” way, or any way at all really. this REALLY has jotaro vibes cause he is one repressed motherfucker and as we see the entirety of his story, jotaro is full of love he loves so much it’s just he has no idea how to properly express it cause he’s scared essentially. but that didn’t stop people from loving him, in this case, that being kakyoin. hhhhHHh
4. ribs by lorde
this song is about being scared of growing up but due to the lyrics being written the way they are, i kinda spin the interpretation of it to be the fear jotaro and kakyoin had on the crusade to egypt, as they were the youngest and didnt know if they’d make it back and everything is just incredibly overwhelming there is so much going on all the time those 50 days. i can do a full analysis on why but that would be kinda long LMAO. for now let’s leave it at they have a very Unique fear of growing up but it still fits with the lyrics. particularly the last bit of the song with the “youre the only friend i need” verses,,,makes me think of these two...
5. can i call you tonight? by dayglow
i interpret this song to be about trying to figure out what, exactly, your feelings are for this very specific and important person in your life. since jotaro and kakyoin r both repressed and also suckers of internalized homophobia, i think they fit that theme very well. particularly with the whole “i feel like we’re close, but maybe we’re not actually? what are we?” theme going on in the lyrics, this whole song makes me think of jotaro and kakyoin figuring out their intense and sudden (cause again only 50 days but also, those 50 days had So Much going on) feelings for each other. also the “now i’m no longer alone” line in the chorus HHHHHHH that’s them
6. la la la love song by toshinobu kubota ft naomi campbell
SO I KNOW THIS SONG IS KINDA JUST FLUFF but we need some light-hearted moments in this thing hjgg;. ALSO toshinobu kubota is canonically jotaro’s favorite musician so i wanted to reference that and this was my fav love song of his that i’ve found so far so (: also the “you are my shining star” line,,,heh
7. truce by twenty one pilots
so this song is very soft. it’s about tending to wounds and taking a moment before continuing to push on. it makes me think abt jotaro and kakyoin taking care of each other on the journey (for example the lovers arc/n’doul fight). also the whole “stay alive, stay alive for me/you will die, but now your life is free/take pride in what is sure to die” makes me go fucking nuts that is. that fits these two to a T fuck
8. this side of paradise by coyote theory
this song has big “two lonely people are in love with each other for the first time” vibes and OHHHHHHHHHH THAT’S JOTAKAK....
there are a lot of little lines that make me specifically think abt these two, such as “love so strong it makes me feel weak” (jotaro-core...), “if you’re lonely come be lonely with me”, “i’ll be yours if you’ll be mine” (wanting some security while ur in love for the first time is common but especially for these two i think it works spectacularly)
but yea this song as a whole is just...ohhh them. theyre in lvoe HK;FNJFL
9. i saw you in a dream by the japanese house
EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. OF THIS SONG IS POST-EGYPT JOTARO. EVERY SINGLE LINE. and the ghost the singer talks about seeing? they hadnt changed at all? they were such a pretty vision, a perfect hallucination? BRUH...
just listen i could do a whole analysis on this song it all just fits jotaro mourning kakyoin throughout the years so so so so well it makes me feel nuts holy shit i just. literally every line. every line fits i am not joking. i cried when i first heard this song LMAO
10. video games by the young professionals
SO LMAO obviously kakyoin’s epic gamer moves are being referenced but beyond that i interpret this song to just be the fun parts of being in love esp when ur young (backed up with the “kissing in the blue dark” and the “watching all our friends fall” lines). also the chorus just makes me want to cry cause just, happy jotakak moments PLEASE. “the world was built for two only worth living if somebody is loving you, and baby now you do” THEYRE NOT ALONE ANYMORE THEY FOUDN EACH OTHER IM GONAN WAILLLLLLL oh my god. im nuts theynkjNJKNJF

this song is abt not wanting someone u love to leave u cause youll miss them obviously but also ur scared of how the time will change you and if it’ll make you unrecognizable eventually. big post-egypt jotaro vibes 😔
especially cause one part of the chorus translates to “i shouldnt cry, i shouldnt cry, but the truth is i want to say dont go” and im jus like OHHHHH NO IT’S JOTARO FINDING OUT KAKYOIN DIED jkfnNKJFNJDhkld
12. therefore you and me by eve
ALRIGHT. god this song is one hell of a doozy. i interpret this song to mean being sincerely in love but youre in the wrong place/wrong time. considering the uh Whole Situation in part 3 there were definitely better times to fall in love for these two. jotaro and kakyoin try to be happy w the moments they do have (i think the second verse in particular adds to this sentiment what with the selfish ghosts part) but they want a better environment understandably so theyre also just kinda ignoring things until they can properly care for a relationship. but well...who knows if theyll live to make it to that better environment ):
13. mayonaka no door/stay with me by miki matsubara
this song is a v sweet sentiment abt like “it’s not just heat of the moment!! i do care about u a lot!!” and asking the person u have feelings for to stick around. big kakyoin and jotaro vibes as it would be easy to call what they have a fling considering how relatively short of a timeframe they had but i genuinely think their relationship was deeper than just that and this song nicely reflects such. “jotaro and i will share a room cause we’re both students” fuckin head ass

oh sting....
so since sting is kakyoin’s favorite musician canonically i had to add one of his songs here as well but beyond just that i do think this song fits them!!
it kinda gives me big “if not in this life, then the next” vibes which is a big uhhh thing for jotakak. they may be doomed to tragedy but the moments they have together make the tragedy worth enduring
ironically i feel like this song is mostly from jotaro’s pov considering i dont think he ever completely got over kakyoin and this song def has that kinda sentiment but hey it fits
them...
15. mr loverman by ricky montgomery
SO FUNNY STORY i actually REALLY. REALLY didnt wanna add this song at first cause i felt it wouldve been...idk too cliche? i guess? and i was ALL kinds of picky when choosing songs for this playlist
HOWEVER. eventually i relistened to it and read the lyrics while thinking specifically abt jotakak and it actually rlly does fit quite well KJDFN;
another jotaro mourning song ): it’s not just the chorus tho the whole song fits jotaro immediately post-egypt but also i feel like some time around part 4 this sentiment would come back to him cause Yknow. Gays In Morioh and the mess of his family life back in america. it just aches for him cause while he’s happy josuke is happy he wishes he couldve had that for him and kakyoin too

much like mr loverman i was hesitant to put this song in cause it’s harder to justify since i dont rlly know much abt music (and not to b controversial but interpreting lyrics and interpreting music r two different things)
however i really think the vibes of this song fit jotakak. it’s got a somber melody but the keys of the piano are high which im taking to mean “light in the dark” which. jotaro and kakyoin (along w the rest of the crusaders) were each other’s lights in the dark. also the ending samples a conference/lecture talking about space flight and like. star platinum. space symbolism. jotaro. yeah
17. saturn by sleeping at last
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. this song is all about losing someone very close and important to you, but reflecting on the good they brought into your life rather than the pain of losing them. this song also has HEAVY space imagery which stardust crusaders is absolutely chalk fucking full of so
also it’s a very philosophical song and considering that jotaro and kakyoin are both Nerds and both got a nice view of the stars/space in the desert with each other, im sure they had conversations similar to the one highlighted in the song. i think it’s a good note to end the playlist on cause kakyoin is dead and jotaro is the survivor but it’s not a mourning song so much as jotaro taking the love he had for kakyoin and pushing forward with it allll th way into part 6

Mallory leans over the keyboard in the library, performing each request you suggest to her and revelling in every moment. The two of you reserve classical music for singularly cruel days. Between Venable’s ceaseless perusal and Langdon’s sudden persistence with you, you’ve grown ill. Mallory begins hitting the keys to play your favourite classical song, an upbeat hopeful tune that reminds you of early childhood. You stop her. “Moonlight Sonata,” you tell her, “I’m feeling… dark.”
Mallory eyes you up and down, staring at your gray uniform as you recline onto the grand piano. You can detect her empathetic expression, the way her eyes fall and lips curve into a frown. She knows the only way to aid your vicious mood drop is playing your favourite songs. So, without question, she begins playing the somber, ominous keys.
You lean your head against the piano, hearing each key tick to create a beautiful song. You’re startled by the clicking of dress shoes along the opulent, polished floors. “Y/n,” the calm voice addresses, “Mallory.” The two of you stop enjoying the music and stare at Langdon. He’s dressed head to toe in elegant, formfitting black clothes, his hands behind his back. “Please, don’t let me interrupt. It sounded beautiful.”
You and Mallory exchange a glance. You should’ve foreseen this; Langdon hasn’t been able to leave you alone these past few days. He perpetually sits back to watch you clean, engages you in eerie, bone chilling conversations, and even started the habit of watching you sleep. Mallory apprehensively starts playing the song again, timidly botching a few keys. “I’ll take care of him,” you sigh.
You propel yourself off of the piano and stride towards Langdon. He doesn’t say a word to you, he just stares with careless bedroom eyes. “Any particular reason you were in my room last night?” you keep your voice low.
He passively shrugs. “I like to watch you sleep. Your innocence is… arousing,” he admits with a facetious grin.
You clear your throat, disguising your anger. You don’t want Mallory to find out about Langdon’s abnormal obsession with you, she hates him enough as is. “Innocence?” you whisper. “You don’t even fucking know who I am.”
“Au contraire,” he responds, leaning his shoulder against the wall. You obstinately cross your arms over your chest as he speaks. “I’ve pried through your memories, felt the emotions you bury deep down inside of you, and hear the thoughts you so desperately keep hidden in your subconscious. Darling, I know you better than you know yourself.”
“Bullshit,” you spit, the words passing your lips with pent up aggression. “You don’t know a thing.”
“I know everything,” he snaps, slicing your attitude with his bellicose tone. “I know that you’re wickedly turned on right now. You can’t admit to yourself that being degraded by me is one of your deepest, darkest fantasies because it’ll make you feel like a miserable little harlot.” You’re taken aback by the brutality to his delivery. “I’ve seen you in my mind,” he whispers, “heaving chest and raisoned fingers, touching yourself to the thought of me choking the life out of those glossy, perplexed eyes.”
You feel tears welling, burning in your eyes from humiliation. Although nobody can hear the two of you, those thoughts were private. They were yours. Langdon simulates a reality in which he owns you completely, like you’re his fictious little plaything. You feel your blood boiling; you’re sick of it, you’re sick of him. “Fuck you,” you say through gritted teeth.
“You will in due time,” he mocks.
You hike up your hand, preparing to smack him flush across the face and wipe the pompous smirk right from his lips, but he grabs a hold of your wrist. “Just leave me the fuck alone,” your voice shakes.
He squeezes your wrist tighter. “Mouthy girl. You know I could never stand for that mistreatment in my new world.”

bro ngl ‘the voice that rings in my ear like a spell, blinds my eyes’ made me think of him being blindfolded ajshdhs sorry. anyway i really like how the stong starts lyrically. his voice is incredibly soft throughout the whole song, but especially during this first verse and it really adds to the melancholic vibe. the beginning immediately sets the defeated tone this song has, so peaceful yet sad.
i really really like this part. it’s a good intermediary part in between the softness of the first verse and the rush of the first chorus. i dont 100% get what the lyrics themselves mean but it might be like he’s in a dream where he’s lying to himself that you (or the object of the song) that you don’t have control over him. idk i get that vibe from that last line in the verse “the truth disperses”. there are a lot of different ideas played with in this song (good vs evil, control vs freedom), but the idea of truth vs lie comes up somewhat frequently.
i L O V E this chorus, oh my g o d. when i say the lyrics have this submissiveness to them, i’m not even talking from like only a sexual perspective (even tho uhhh ‘turn me on, i’m soaked in breathtaking ecstasy’ 👀👀) . they’re very resigned lyrics (this song reminds me a lot of the english version of lose!! they’re both incredibly soft and sad and have this toothless hostility to them!!) i’m also not exactly sure what the storyline of this song would be, maybe like this person left him and he’s still so attached and wrapped around their finger?
(uhm so i just hope you know because english translation lyrics are so unreliable, i was watching a lyric video of this song and that third line was translated as ‘i can’t resist your absolute dominance’ and i just- i think i stopped functioning for the day lmao-)
i love this verse so so much, more than the first one. there’s a silence right in between that first chorus and this verse and it’s bEAUTIFUL MY GUY.
‘lie after lie, you’re killing my soul’ is such a somber lyric. it’s not exactly angry or accusatory, but it makes the song seem just desperate. whether it’s like a desperate to surrender to this person or desperate for the pain of love to stop is made intentionally unclear. this is demonstrated by the lyrics not exactly contradicting each other but having different meanings i.e. ‘you’re killing my soul’ vs ‘i offer my everything, even give my breath away’.
in short, i just love how multifaceted this song is. like it mentioned earlier, it’s submissive in a sexual context but also in an emotional context and i just love it!!!
the bridge is really interesting to me. like the whole song is incredibly beautiful lyrically but this section has so much depth to it.
‘i’m trapped in a prison i can’t escape from nor go back to, this curse must live on’ hits kind of hard. he’s trapped and can’t escape, but he also can’t go back to. i have a slight idea of what that might be referring to but idk i don’t think it’s right. like m a y b e it’s like even if he does escape, he can’t go back to it, and even though you cause so much pain, he still wants the ‘ecstasy’ that comes with it.
‘i now punish myself with you and jump inside hell’ sounds incredibly toxic?? like obviously if we set aside the idea of punishment in a sexual manner, this seems to refer to the pain this person is indirectly causing him. it’s indirect because they’re not punishing him, he’s punishing himself with them as the weapon.
also uhm the genius lyrics don’t change for the final chorus but obviously he’s singing different lyrics so i tried to find a replacement!! it’s from a lyric video so i just wrote them down!! (also also the genuis lyrics never mentioned the ‘ex is a devil’ part but i’ll get into that in the other section of this analysis!!)
anyway there’s not much to talk about here besides the fact these lyrics make me incredibly horny lmao i can’t wait for his concert i really want him to sing devil live!!!! so so excited!!!
now on the the ‘ex is a devil’ bit!! honestly there’s not much to say about the lyric itself but i genuinely didn’t think it was in english at first until i read the lyrics lmao i just love the part with the distorted voice!!! (also here is where we’ll transition into the musicality of the song) the whole song has a peaceful and somber atmosphere, even with the emotional rush that seems to come with the chorus, and then this part completely changes the vibe. like okay from the album preview i wasn’t a big fan of devil for the pure fact that the chorus seemed really bright from what we heart but the song is anything but bright!!!
i also really like the instrumental of this song (i couldn’t find an instrumental on youtube so there’s no way to listen to it without his vocals :,( but we’ll make do)!! the very ethereal sounding effects mixed in with the repetition of the kick and then how the distorted ‘ex is a devil’ part is completely different with the percussion oh my god i love it!!
it’s actually a bit harder to go over the instrumentals because there are a lot of pretty sounds that aren’t instruments that i can pick out easily lol but i can tell you that i really like the overall feeling that comes with the chorus. because the prechorus is so light and different from the verses, it adds to the huge ‘rush’ as i keep calling it that comes with the chorus. the percussion and the bass parts keep the pace of the song but the brightness of the beautiful sounds in the chorus (my soul is telling me that’s some kind of pitched percussion instruments or m a y b e a piano or keyboard with a specific sound effect but god i just don’t know) is just so pretty!!
it is so hard to tell because his voice is in the way but i think there’s some orchestral parts in at least the verses??? but probably all throughout??
and not to ignore his vocals??? i think one really interesting thing is the fact that wonho doesn’t sing like intensely or loudly in this song. maybe it’s because i’m used to kihyun popping the fuck off bit wonho in general has a rather softer voice and i actually really thing that helped the atmosphere of the song. i think some of the lower notes could have been more emphasized especially in the second verse and the prechorus because he has such a beautiful low voice but!! the softness in his voice helped the song keep that very resigned and somber vibe to it.
also in the last chorus, i’m not sure if it’s easy to consciously catch but there’s another vocal line and it doesn’t sound like wonho lmao but it also doesn’t sound like any voice i can recognize (maybe it was someone who produced or mixed the song??? i have no idea) it also could have been wonho with just a little distortion in his voice but idk again wonho doesn’t usually go for intense high notes so i’m not sure.
also i tried to listen to whatever i could find on youtube and i came across an 8d audio of it (these things are so weird but i love it) there’s some descending notes from what feels like a clarinet almost lmao also i again have no way to describe them but i really like the distorted sound effects that make this song seem so pretty but so off if you know what i mean.
anyway tldr: idk what’s going on musically but the song is very subby lyrically so i like it 👉👈

Wont you let me take you to the other side?- A dark sides au intrulogical story
okaaaaaay I got hit with alot of inspiration for this one! I was listening to the song The Other Side from The Greatest Showman ( and had @softmushie ‘s animatic of the song on repeat for like an hour its so good) and as I was listening I started thinking and suddenly this song fit these two perfectly for this au.
A bit of context: Remus is pretty damn tired of the light sides and his brother always taking things from him and virgil and the other dark sides and decides that they need a taste of their own medicine, and he knows EXACTLY what to do to do it~
I hope you guys enjoy, I had alot of fun doing this and there will be a corresponding picture being drawn( since I dont have the tools to make animatics- theres an animatic in this that im just writing out at this point) So if this comes off as a song fic thats part of the plan

Logan would pride himself on being many things, such as prepared for almost any situation. He was rational, logic, level-headedness, problem solver, calm. He was prepared for many things thrown at the sides and at Thomas.
He knew how to calmly ease Deceit’s insecurities about his new role. He knew how to reel back Roman from going overboard and exhausting himself before he can expand on any one idea. He knew how to calm Patton down when and urge him to talk before he bottled up too much negativity. He would even risk saying he could keep the dark sides from causing too much mayhem, as difficult as they could make themselves. Logan was efficient and orderly, and he tried to keep most of the mindscape, and Thomas, the same way despite any roadblocks or shenanigans.
Despite this he was not prepared for everything that could happen, which is what landed him in his current predicament.
Logan’s head throbbed lightly as he pried his eyes open, as if he had a headache or had been hit hard over the head with something heavy. When he had gathered his bearings he looked up to find himself in a dark space shrouded in black, sitting at the end up a sleek dark table. A glance down showed him he was not restrained in any visible way, and he could get up and leave if he so wanted. But where he would be leaving was unclear, and he stayed seated as he thought back to what happened and how he would’ve gotten here. ‘ Lets see....we were brainstorming another video idea...I was with Roman...we were bickering over an idea of his and the actuality of Thomas being able to pull it off in a timely matter or if we should go with something else...it was a bit of a stalemate so to speak...and then Roman yelled something about behind me...and then I saw a glimpse of green...and then...The last thing I can remember seeing was--’
“ Remus.” He said firmly. Thats when he heard a familiar laugh at the other end of the table.
“ You called Logan darling~?” Logan sighed and briefly pinched the bridge of his nose to maintain his composure before reopening his eyes and locking them with the wild, glowing green eyes of the side across from him.
Remus was sitting at the other side of the table with his chair tilted back in a precarious balancing act and a wide grin on his face that reeked of bad intentions...or maybe that was just Remus in general. Logan sat himself up straighter in his chair and sighed.
“ Remus would you please explain where we are, and why you felt the need to knock me out to bring me here.” Remus only shrugged at first, tapping freshly painted black nails on the desk where he could reach. Despite the casual feel to his movements his eyes were unusually sharp and focused, trapping Logan in their grip. He couldnt help the irritated huff he gave, and he tapped his foot a little.
“ Remus please, I’m not in the mood for these games of yours right now. Wheres the exit.” All he got back was an amused hum and the thud of his chair remeeting the floor and the creak as the other leaned towards him.
“ oh ho ho~ No games today Lo-lo not this time...This time I’d like to put an offer for you out on the table.” He gave a grand sweep gesture over the table and grinned, eyes glittering with something Logan recognized somewhere else. Stubborn-ness, determination.
He saw it in Roman’s eyes far too often to mistake it.
“ An...offer? Remus...what are you talking about?” Remus seemed to wave off his clear suspicion and continued his pitch, voice enthusiastic and honest.
“ Cmon lo! I dont want to have to keep chasing you down for it...but I know you see it too. Drop the stuffy ties with those light side pricks and try running with me.” Logan was stunned, too stunned to reply at first. And Remus took that opportunity to keep going.
“ You can run with me, and I can cut you free from them and all the burdens they keep piling on. Out of all that drudgery and the walls that are keeping you in!” He leaned forward more, palms flat on the table as he stood from his chair.
“ Lets trade that boring typical for something different, something colorful! And if its bad or crazy? Fuck it lets live a little crazy!” Logan only had time to blink before Remus was standing beside him, leaning close.
“ You can play it sensible, their king of the conventional. Or you can risk it all and see...dont you just wanna get away from this same old boooooooring part they make you play?” He felt Remus’s hand glid over his chest and shoulder as he circled around the chair, another grand gesture made with his other hand.
“ Because frankly specs, I got more of what you need! So just come with me and take the ride~ and I’ll take you to the other side! Because dont get me wrong...” Another blink and the other was seated directly in front of him on top of the table, one leg crossed over the other and his heeled boot lightly pressing on his thigh above his knee.
“ you can keep doing like you do...or you can do like me! You can stay in you boring little cage, or you can finally take the key...” A golden key dangled in his right hand tauntingly, as his other hand wrapped around Logan’s tie and pulled him up so their faces were close. He lowered his voice to a soften, smooth tone as his smiled curled into a small smirk.
“ Well damn, then suddenly youre free to fly....Just let me take you to the other side.”
Logan blinked, once then twice as he processed what was happening as quickly as he could. And once it had he almost let out a bit of a laugh. Remus was persuasive when he was passionate about something, Logan wouldnt deny him that. His words were urging and hypnotic, but that alone wouldnt make the logical side swoon. So he sighed through his nose and put his hand on the wrist holding his tie and met his eyes confidently.
“ Ok Remus, you want to...” cut me in” so to speak. You want me to join the dark sides with you correct? As...gilded and lovely as you make the offer to be...” He gently pushed his hand off and leaned back in his chair, straightening his tie with a calm, composed expression.
“ Well I hate to tell youm but it simply just wont happen. So I give you my thanks, but no. I think im good to go.” He gave a small smirk and stood from the chair and took a step away, casually dusting his shoulders off as he did.
“ Because despite what you say I quite enjoy the life you claim to say im trapped in. Not to completely disregard you now,” He glanced back, dark blue cutting into bright green as the table disappeared and left the two standing face to face in the darkness
“ Now, I’ll admit I do admire you, and this whole show you can do. Youre onto something Remus, really youre onto something I can say I’ll be proud of you for. But I have to stay among the light sides and rationality, and cannot afford to give in to recklessness. That, I’ll have to leave that up to you.” He chuckled softly with his words and stood up straighter, his smiling faded as he took a more serious approach, turning on his heels to walk away.
“ Dont you know that im ok with this “ uptown” part I get to play. Because there I got what I need and I dont wish to take your ride. So I dont need to see the other side.” He turned and began to walk, waving his hand to dismiss the idea away.
“ So you go back and do like you do, I’m well and good to do like me. I am not in some so called cage...so I dont need to take your key Remus. I believe you can see I’m doing just fine. I dont need you to take me to the other side.” Remus narrowed his eyes and let out his own sigh, watching his back with more seriousness.
“ Is that really how you like to spend your days? Wasted and in misery, locked in their rules and pretty plays?” Logan glanced back with a stern look.
“ If I were to be mixed up with you, I’d be the talk of the mindscape. I’d likely be disgraced and disowned, discarded as unfit for my role as logic.”
Logan had blinked once and suddenly he was swept off his feet and in a twirl. He let out a startled noise as Remus led him in a extravagant waltz, arms around him and keeping him close as the world around them melted and swirled into a luxurious and gothic ballroom hall, green candlelight flickering and glowing as they danced round and round. Here in his arms Logan realized for the first time that Remus was actually taller than him, and that the other could dance beautifully and elegantly while Logan stumbled along with him. Remus didnt seem to mind as he chuckled and led Logan round and round to music he couldve sworn floated at the edges of his hearing, something somber and sweet on the violin or piano maybe.
“ Cmon Logan dont you enjoy this? The freedom, the thrill?” Logan looked up again and opened his mouth to repeat his stance when Remus leaned close
“ You would finally get to live a little, finally laugh a little....just let me give you the freedom to dream and to breathe a little...” Another twirl and he spun Logan once like a princess before continuing their dance.
“ It’ll wake you up and cure all your aching, I’ll take all your walls and we’ll start ‘em breaking! Now to me that seems like a deal...a risk well worth taking~” He then spun Logan away from him, and the logical side found himself a little speechless as the scene morphed once more. Remus himself fell into a deep sweeping bow as he smiled, a bow worthy of a King’s presence. And for the one moment Logan realized he could feel the weight of a crown on his head, could see parts of the elegant and simple royal robes he was donning and the throne room he now stood at the head of, moonlight pouring in and giving it all an almost heavenly glow. His eyes met Remus’s once more, and he saw they were glittering in the moonlight, like green jewels. And all at once the moonlight faded and Remus pulled himself up. Logan briefly felt a hand slide sensually, longingly across his cheek as it grew darker, and as Remus’s voice grew softer.
“ But I guess I’ll leave that decision up to you Logan...”
He blinked and found himself standing in the hallway, right in front of his room, normal attire and Remus nowhere in sight. It was dark, most likely night now and he could feel Thomas sleeping.
He was back home...right?
Logan took a deep breath as quietly as he could and shook his head, trying to dismiss the whole ordeal as perhaps nothing but a vivid dream of sorts...He let his shoulders slump a little as he headed into his room to go work on some things before bed. But he stopped as his door clicked shut, eyes locked on the single thorny blue rose sitting in the center of his desk. He felt warmth flood his cheeks as his fingers brushed one of the silk soft petals. tracks that i think are underrated off of video game soundtracks i like (note: i dont have a specific standard of underrated, it kinda depends. basically its just if i don’t feel like people talk about / use a song too often. sometimes its loosely based off of spotify plays if the albums on there. idk it’s whatever im going to talk about songs i like) (spoilers for sonic 2 / adventure 2 / mania, cave story, undertale, a hat in time, celeste, and phoenix wright: ace attorney. its song titles and a little bit sometimes i talk about what happens with the songs but just in case anyone doesnt want to see it)
White - Cave Story
to hear this in game you had to speedrun the sanctuary and get a certain time, so for a long time i never heard this song but goddamn its good and i wish it were more easily accessible
It’s Raining Somewhere Else - Undertale
it’s undertale so of course it’s still fairly well known and it’s also a fairly important story moment but i feel like as someone who doesnt engage much with fandoms at all really its a pretty underrated bit as far as wider recognition goes. really most songs in undertale could be labelled underrated compared to megalo or hopes and dreams or whatever but i like this one
Supporting Me - Sonic Adventure 2
its the theme for when shadow fights the biolizard. it’s so moody and the vocals are distorted so nicely i love it. plus storywise, its the song for shadows first step taken to help the rest of the cast stop the space colony from crashing on earth, so it’s a significant moment of character development for shadow in the game!
Picture Perfect [Remix] - A Hat in Time
this one is unlockable, so you might not have heard it ingame, but they got Carlos Eiene (insaneintherainmusic) on sax for this, and its a jazz arrangement of the song. its a bit lower energy than the original but i think its great
Death Egg Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog 2
the song that gets cut off immediately because there’s no level before the silver sonic fight. a shame! because it’s a damn good tune! it’s hectic, it’s sorrowful, honestly I think they should have just made it so you fight silver sonic to this song.
Golden Ridge (Golden Feather Mix) - Celeste
in love with a ghost did an amazing job on this track. the echoey chiptune sounds and the reverb vocals are incredible. great to listen to during the b or c sides of this level
End (Credits) - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
a beautiful somber reprise of the motif from Trial Begins, I had never heard the end credits music from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney until I played the game for myself, and it was really good. musically speaking it’s not too different from Trial Begins, a different key and tempo as well as a few melodic differences, but it still hits excellently for the ending of AA1.
Blossom Haze (Press Garden Act 2) - Sonic Mania
one of the best songs on Sonic Mania’s ost. the best part of sonic mania was the original content and this track is no exception. the chorus with the piano and xylophone (i think?) is fucking exquisite, and so is the synth melody leading up to it.

mostly i want to talk about the leitmotifs in this movie because holy SHIT!!!! THEYRE GOOD!!!!
so you have all the main themes n stuff. and stuff they represent based off what is shown in the scenes, which i will list :D
another day of sun - hopefulness, dreaming of an artistic break (yk the type of stuff you move to LA for!)
someone in the crowd - having someone important in the crowd. a loved one OR a producer or smth!!
mia & sebs theme - hopefulness and eventually melancholy, like how their relationship went. yk.
a lovely night - mostly just being in love/falling in love. this one doesnt show up as much in motifs that ive noticed so i havent thought abt it as much actually!!
hermits habit - just sebastian really lmao.
city of stars - this one changes meaning in each reprise of it, but i would go with a sort of... hopeless hopefulness. i dont really know how to explain it. the inability to snuff out your hope for a hopeless dream (or a dream you perceive to be hopeless).
planetarium - HAPPY DREAMING AND LOVE N STUFF!!!
audition/the fools who dream - kind of mias version of city of stars, i think. only a bit more hopeful. its about dreamers and how they can come off as crazy and how much it hurts to dream but how we keep going. mostly it's like the sad aspect of dreaming, but bc it's told by a dreamer about a dreamer, it still has that hopeless hopefulness i talked about for city of stars.
and then we reach the epilogue--a combination of all the songs, all the meanings. when you combine it with the reprises of scenes and music paired to new scenes and paired with new songs the meanings are fucking INCREDIBLE.
so it starts with a mia & sebs theme that sebastian plays on his piano at the club she pushed him to create that he always wanted, with her in the audience. it's a somber retelling of their story, still as gorgeous as ever.
it cuts back to their scene at the club, when seb pushed her aside after she was drawn in by his music. however, in this daydream version of their relationship, sebastian kisses her instead. BOOM!!! planetarium begins playing!!!! love n dreaming and happy n stuff!!!!
the music switches to another day of sun. theyre hopeful, theyre still dreaming of their breaks. during the replaying of this song, seb opens his club & turns down the offer for a job in john legend (forgot his character's name OOPS)'s band and mia puts on her play & the crowd (featuring seb this time!!! love it!!).
boom!!! someone in the crowd is playing now!!! there's an insanely clever visual motif that combines the scenes of another day of sun (the set's road and people dancing on it), someone in the crowd (four girls dancing in dresses), a lovely night (yellow dresses and streetlights), city of stars (a row of streetlights and people dancing!), AND planetarium (people dancing on top of LA's signature stars on the ground w names of famous people!). you could probably also include mia & sebastians theme bc theyre walking through it together holding hands. then mia's very own "someone in the crowd" appears to take her hand--the agent who was at her show and wants her to audition. (which is also a motif of the fools who dream in this same scene... fuck).
the fools who dream begins to play softly. mia's audition goes well.
it switches to being played in the style of planetarium. the implications of planetarium mixed with the fools who dream. oh my god. a happy ending for the dreamers?? where they get love and happiness and achieve their dreams?? IS THIS NOT WHAT HER WHOLE DAYDREAM DURING THIS EPILOGUE IS????
then it switches to being played in the style of hermit's habit--SHE HAS SEBASTIAN IN THIS DAYDREAM!!!!
planetarium is there in full force!!! theyre GETTIN MARRIED!!!!! happy n love n dreams!!! YEAH!!!! then of course they DANCE IN THE STARS AGAIN!!!!! MOTIFS YEAH!!! ALSO I JUST REALLY LIKE THE SCENE!!!
then city of stars as a home video style montage of their marriage plays in a theatre (reminiscent of their first date that led to the planetarium song its going backwards with the thing its cool ITS COOL ITS COOL) anyways of course its getting sad again now because this is all just a dream. hopeless hopefulness.
and we're back to seb's club!!! he's playing mia and seb's theme, and the melancholy shows. none of that dream was real, but at least they get to keep bits and pieces. there's always a happy and sad undertone to this song.

negative music onions
1. drops are lazy ways to build up tension in music and now they dont even change the song afterward so whats the point
2. pop punk songs had good intros like welcome to the black parade but they always do the same thing afterward going into the typical pop punk song structure and it makes me sad
3. actually a lot of songs have good intros but are ruined by the meat of the song being really typical and the same as every other song
4. i watch this dude make clay pokemon and he plays the worst free to use edm pop like i just heard a song that has a really somber piano and sad vocals but then it turns into a trap song after the drop??? THEN IT GOES BACK???? what kind of irresponsible song writing is that. you cant just do that. it makes the whole song laughable when you have chipmunk voices speaking gibberish how am i supposed to take this seriously

IGOR (TYLER THE CREATOR), 2019 ALBUM REVIEW
IGORS THEME: very plain and i think he's just introducing us into the album nothing really sticks out besides the deep dark synths & the chorus but its a good introduction on how IGOR is gonna be, one of my least favorite tracks on the album
EARFQUAKE: one of my favorite tracks off of IGOR, it shows me how he's feeling, he's begging someone not to leave while you can feel the emotion behind it & he blames himself the entire song that its his fault that this person is leaving, i really like the vibe & especially the PLAYBOI CARTI feature i think it's really nice & unique
I THINK: this song has very deep synths, he's asking himself (tyler) if he's falling in love this is how im perceiving it, he wants the persons attention, & he believes he's actually in love, this track felt very repetitive for me though & it felt bland but in overall its pretty good for delivering the message. but it had really good transitions i really appreciated the production
EXACTLY WHAT YOU RUN FROM YOU END UP CHASING: just a 15 second clip of someone speaking i think the title leads on to the rest of the story saying that he ends up running from something or trying at least but just ends up chasing it
RUNNING OUT OF TIME: it has a very poppy synths this time, & he's saying how he's running out of time for trying to make this person fall in love with him & he's saying to stop acting like someone else around everyone else because tyler knows exactly how this person is. this is a really good track with very catchy production & chorus
NEW MAGIC WAND: the synths on this track are very electronic sounding & very dark & deep, & he's begging this person to not leave i don't really have much to say on this track
A BOY IS A GUN: he's asking this person to not reject him & he's asking himself why this person invites him out if his ex is there, & talks about how dangerous this person is for him & how he feels like this person can hurt him a ton & doesn't want him to be around tyler, but its a very bright song with a bright piano & very pop sounding
PUPPET: this song starts a very simple beat, but tyler's lyrics COMPLETELY overshadow it, talking about this person, he feels like this person is controlling him & he feels as if he's being used
it then goes into this melody from the production with a choir in the back & kanye has a quiet verse. the production was simple but i enjoyed the choir a bit & simplicity
WHAT'S GOOD: i think tyler is trying to say that this person is a clown, & he isn't playing around with this person, & the production on this song is very rough & gritty & dark with trap influences, tyler comes in with a verse thats very gritty & rough.
GONE, GONE / THANK YOU: it starts off with a very pop based production & its very soft, his verse states that no matter what he's gonna be fine & that his love is gone for this person & it's a very pop influenced beat the first side of gone, gone & talks about that love is all he's got, & how's scarred for life, he then starts a verse talking about how he knows this persons secrets & how he found peace & it has a beautiful transition. thank you starts with a very heavy synth & a verse thanking the person for their time & that tyler wont ever love again i believe?
I DONT LOVE YOU ANYMORE: the production is very quiet & very mellow, it has a nice melody & the back choir is talking about he doesn't love the person anymore & it transitions into a nice guitar, some voices say "tell me where to go" which i think means after he stops loving this person he doesn't know where to go or what to do
ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?: he's asking the person if they're still friends because tyler has to know, the production is very simple & somber once again with very slow drums as well, & then it leads on to something very quiet but then transitions onto something loud & he questions if they're still friends
my summary: this album was beyond average, the production on it felt so experimental & different & it's been like nothing tyler has ever released & this is why tyler changed the rap game & the music we listen to. this is tyler BEST record he executed his story well but to take a risk & produce the entire album himself, i think it's a huge step up from his previous work & he proved himself as an artist, the production was very rough & very repetitive in some parts but this is the best tyler album period.

i still dont understand how Insert Person Here said all my music was shit and only abt trauma bc like... no??? like a lot of my music is sad but sad music is cathartic to write. nothing wrong with that.
also most of my music at least the songs i feel comfortable posting were written when i was transitioning into adulthood and ws going thru world changing events, or even going thru Big Changes in my Brain. stuff that Could be considered traumatic but no different than shit any other musician writes if they got a more somber vibe.
