PROBABLY #I haven’t seen any other trees in the show coloured blue. but it has the swirls like Luz’s log #ALSO THE LIGHT GLYPH CARVED ABOVE EDAS OFFICE SNIFFLE #I’ve been seeing a lot of posts abt how the isles are recovering from Belos like removing the coven tattoos and #eda raine and king stomping on Belos. but I thought this was a nice callback #Belos didnt just hurt the people on the isles. he also destroyed a lot of stuff that was culturally important #palistrom makes companions and tools for people on the isles and Belos took all of it for himself. greedy bastard #ALSO if u notice on the banner above the University’s entrance theres a symbol shaped like a titan skull #and if you look at the scene with raine ever wolf and Darius you can see they have the same symbol as a badge or on Darius’ belt #so I assume that means the Isles also formed a new government after Belos died. the fact its shaped like the titan is also cool cause they #dont need to rely on some puritan to lead them pretending tk have their best interests in mind #the Emperors sigil doesn’t even have anything associated with the Isles in the first place either. its Belos imposing his own beliefs #yapping #the owl house #the owl house spoilers #toh #toh spoilers #toh watching and dreaming #watching and dreaming spoilers

i do find it funny how most of the fan depictions of belos were far more interesting and detailed than s3 belos. i've seen fanart and fanfics of him where he's a complex villain struggling with religious guilt and then the canon is just like.. lmao yeah he's pure evil. kill him.

#i feel like belos is the opposite of catra #a potentially sympathetic villain who is reduced to Evil Man Who Deserves Death™#don't get me wrong i'm not saying he should have been forgiven or anything #he didn't deserve forgiveness #and he didnt really need a redemption arc #but did they have to throw away all of his complexity just to appease the anti steven universe community?#that's what it felt like #fun fact: you can write a sympathetic/complex villain and not redeem them #it's perfectly doable #but oh well #toh critical #toh salt #toh criticism #anti toh #toh discourse #belos #emperor belos #philip wittebane #bad writing #i was so excited for his character at first #especially around hollow mind era because the layers were peeling back #and we were seeing a really interesting and intimidating villain in the making #sigh #my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

always funny how often u see cloud and tifa purported as childhood friends when in reality he was the weird kid no one liked who tried to hang around with her friend group who all hated him. we only know of like two meaningful interactions between them before nibelheim burned and one of those tifa doesnt even remember. part of the fun with them is how tifa encourages clouds belief that they were friends then mostly because hes all thats left of home

#maybe she remembers him fondly in hindsight. she probably didnt dislike him as much as her friends disliked him (and vice versa)#but idr any implication they were actually friends LOL. idk #i just think aerith and tifas relationships w cloud are way more fun when u keep in mind all the lies and misapprehensions btwn them ar #at first. like aerith admitting she was drawn to him bc of that echo of zack at first #oh theres a squirrel or smth in the attic for SURE anyways. and tifa totally encouraging clouds fucked up memories #wnd neither case is out of anything Malicious or Duplicitous and theyre ehat Cloud wantsd to believe and to have believed by others… etc

I don't know the name for the technique but there's this thing that was in there that's the string players, like, tapping the instrument with the bow to create a more percussive sound and normally I wouldn't think too much of it but I swear to god it sounded like creeping spider legs. During the case set at Hill Top Road. With the very obvious references to the Buried and the Stranger and all the rest. Which dropped about a hundred Achives references including Jon's fucking name???

I have always respected the soundscaping they do at Rusty Quill but they're really going above and beyond for this show.
