The feeling stirs the coils inside his body, bringing him back to life. There's a hand on his chest, that much he can tell, and it's kneading the flesh of his body almost like a kitten’s paw would, blunt nails digging into his ribcage like an insistent plea.
He doesn’t know what time it is but he knows one thing: it’s too damn early for this shit.
His eyelids flutter open, finding the ceiling flooded by light. They left the curtains open, the world immense and new like everyday peeking into their space. His hands ache, curled up into fists under the bedsheets, but his body is strung up and ready to kick into fight or flight mode, as if finding someone strange in his bed (couldn't be farther from the truth).
But the hand on his chest insists and a whine breaches into the corners of his mind still clogged with sleep and cobwebs. The softness of hair brushing his cheek, his body stretched up in a weird pattern, the rubbing of fabric on his leg unbeknownst to him, not a result of him moving.
Mark lets out a long shaky breath, a groan and a yawn laced together, and finally sets in motion. By his side, Sebastian complains, a whiney noise keening high at the back of his throat as the thigh he was humping slips away from his hold.
“Really?” He says, groggy with sleep but still aiming to poke at him. “You’re still horny? Didn’t I fuck you hard enough last night?”
“Shut up,” Seb whispers, far more awake than he is, curling up against his body until his cheek is smushed against Mark’s collarbones, his blonde floppy hair all matted and gross rubbing his chin.
Mark sighs, lets the fondness overtake any and all ugly feelings and wraps an arm around his body, presses him closer, kisses the top of his head and whispers ‘horny bitch’. Seb giggles, mean and scheming as usual, nuzzling against his neck, pressing open mouthed kisses against his adam’s apple.
Mark should be stronger than this, not feel the usual morning wood sharpening under such vague, sloppy ministrations, but Seb has pavloved him, turned him into a complacent, desperate lover with just the laziest of hazy desires tainting the space between their bodies. And Mark is still drowsy and dizzy, sleeping in late and waking up early is no routine for someone in their thirties fucking a twenty something kid who is too hyperactive for their own good, so he musters all the energy he has and sits Seb on his growing erection, drags him down with a mean and heavy hand at the back of his neck and kisses him with far too much saliva, far too many teeth pulling at his gangly want, tugs the hem of his white shirt up, gets him half naked and needy, grinding down on him with a whinee at the tip of his tongue.
“Go on,” Mark says, stretches his arms back, crosses his hands behind his neck, “put on a show, I know you like to do that.”

It’s a novel experience, actually; he can’t remember a time when Edgeworth wasn’t hovering, wanted or not, near the forefront of his mind. But he’s here - he’s real, standing on Phoenix’s doorstep in his dingy hallway in an apartment complex that probably costs less than Edgeworth’s entire salary, looking awkward as all hell.

[Love how this one takes a joke from the games that is stupid and often uncomfortable and gives it such depth and weaves a beautiful story out of that. Shoutout to ao3 user theacegrace everything they write is a banger.]

It goes about as well as you'd expect.

In a fit of impulsiveness, Klavier asks Apollo on a date. Unexpectedly, Apollo accepts, but under one condition: in the interests of avoiding further awkwardness, Klavier must resolve his remaining differences with Phoenix Wright. What follows is excruciating for everyone involved.
[This is my favorite Klavier fic. It has everything a girl could want: exploration of the small glimpses we got of whatever the hell is going on with Klavier Gavin (& his brother) in aa4, resolution on Klav and Phoenix's relationship, and the best fake Gavinners song & album titles I've ever had the pleasure to read. If nothing else, read this one for this line:
How fitting, though, that he is destined to be a martyr for love! It’s just like in that track on the Gavinners’ third album, ‘I Would Do Anything for Judicial Impartiality (And Also Love)’, or that other track on the Gavinners’ third album, ‘Stop in The Name of The Legal Authority I Legitimately Wield (And Also Love)’.
Also like, the rest of it. Perhaps the best thing about this fic is how it manages to weave absolutely insane ace attorney bullshit like the Gavinners song titles with such depth of characters and emotions.]

[I've read this one multiple times, and it's still the Definitive Phoenix Fic in my head. This is the culmination of his development throughout the games that I had wanted so badly, and for that it has the absolute highest honors a fanfic can get in my head. 10000/10]

I hope you didn't think I was pointing out flaws with my question! I think your analysis and self reflection are commendable! I would not really have known much about security clearances except for the fact that I went through the process and only on a surface level.
As for the "fatal flaw" i understood it was necessary for the main conflict of the story. In much the same way that the original Top Gun uses the Top Gun trophy when none exists in real life and it would be a major problem if it did. If that was really how they were training the pilots then the cause of Goose's death would have prompted them to review the whole framework of how they teach. Even the second movie has a "fatal flaw" in the pulling of Rooster's paper's by Maverick which makes no sense (for starters, he'd have to ask someone higher up than him to do something unethical) but they needed a conflict. I agree Maverick seems OOC in TG:M
But, I'm reminded of a line in How to Make an American Quilt where one of the characters who is talking about breaking the rules in art says something like "sometimes you have to break the rules for the piece to come alive"
no anon you are so good!!! i just felt like it would be disingenuous of me to answer your question without acknowledging the elephant in the room which is the story’s incompatibility with nosy govt officials lol. And also i think I am just…idk, very disappointed with some aspects of the story that i know could be better, so i wanted to talk about it. because this fic is the first 50k+ thing ive ever finished i think it means disproportionately much to me and i am disproportionately disappointed that it’s not perfect, even though that was inevitable. it is insanely disappointing to be a “young writer” or whatever and know that your work is not capable of reaching your adult ambitions specifically because you lack the life experience to convincingly portray those adult ambitions, because that’s not something you can fix by reading more or taking a writing class etc. that gap between what I want to write (adults dealing with big adult problems) and what I’m actually capable of writing (not that because I’ve never been an adult with big adult problems) is still so disappointingly wide. like with “the house,” for instance, i literally had to ask my mom how “two friends” would go about buying a house, which should’ve been my first indication that I was about to Post Cringe On Main, but I just wasn’t thinking about what that commitment means because I didn’t have the experience to know that I SHOULD be thinking about it, if that makes sense. but by then it was too late, that was the last chapter i wrote & had already written 60k+ words where ice and mav had… “a house…” because they needed to be in the same place. It’s just disappointing to know that these are holes I dug for myself early early on because of a lack of care, a lack of forethought, a lack of maturity… etc.
But whatever, im learning from it, I’ll take these lessons & apply them to the next big project i work on & that’s how things get better. still disappointing tho. But thank you & sorry it took so long for me to answer ur first ask but it rly made me think & i love making story graphs

Im gonna finish this in 2 days who knows how. Then my reward will be reading Can Ci Pin or Sha Po Lang (or both) for a week or two straight. (And maybe my also book Weird Tales of Vampires).
Fun facts: 1. I read like half a million words over the past week (absolutely lost myself in fanfic, prior week I read like 300k words).
2. I wrote 15k words in the past week and, barring sudden hyperfocus, I'm slated to finish this novel draft either by January 15 (at 2k words a day and 60k finished words) or by the end of january (if the novel gets longer than I intend and therefore requires more words from me ToT). Because I'm averaging about 2k words a day. Although I know if I hyperfocus Im capable of 8-10k words a day and you know thats like roughly 140k words in 2 weeks (aka thats how I finished writing half of what makes monsters stop devouring in 2 weeks somehow). O can occasionally do 15k words in a day but thats... thats pushing it. That usually burns me out so no more writing for weeks. But like. It is marginally possible. I crank out 30k words in the next 48 hours and either finish my novel draft or get damn close. Whats more likely... is i get to 50k words somehow in 48 hours and then horrifically discover the novel's going to need 90-100k words for the plot. Which would happen, knowing me -.- Then again, it's more likely I only crank out 8-10k words in the next 48 hours. Which is still hefty and will put me at 40k total words complete. But would only be half of the plot to 3/4, which means yeah I'm probably hitting the end of the draft in a couple more weeks of 2k ish words a day on average. Not bad, given its only a little past my self imposed deadline. Irritated though that I could not get motivated until staring down ny timeline's end (in my defense, the indulgent break to just read whatever nonstop felt good to my brain and did shake off the writer's block by reaffirming what I like about my own writing, dislike about some other writing styles, and what I aspire to). Anyway... all that to say I'd bet there's still like a 5% chance I crank out the full rest of the draft in 48 hours somehow then my brain feels fried and I dont touch it to edit for at least 2 weeks ToT (its unlikely... but it is remotely possible). In retrospect I wish I could read Saye faster than my glacial chinese reading speed, because I think it's plot and style in particular would help me with contemplating writing issue decisions.
3. Reading so much stuff in a short period kind of made me realize... well first of all, I'm for the most part going to write worse than I hoped I would but better than I feared. For all that my writing often doesn't hit my expectations, it still has a lot in it that I personally love and it irritates me when it's absent in other stories (reading fucking like 30 fanfics this week made me realize I have no patience for flat characterization, for too general plots, for certain writing styles, for plots that lean too much in one genre without playfully utilizing more at least once in a while, and I'm drawn to stuff with strong character pov voices and thoughts and attitudes you feel when you read, with movie like scenes, with playing around with what's real or a thought, with ridiculousness sprinkled in serious matter so its not always epic stakes or heavy). Like... yeah maybe I can't think of the perfect words I want to use, but I can remember plot threads very well and thread them into minor details. I plan my stories out, which is more than some authors I admire do (and is probably why Ive got the flexibility to foreshadow so much the way I like to). I may not always pick the best presentation of a scene compared to what I desire in retrospect, but I make characters you feel and see from inside which I do love and prefer to read. Like... I'm not going to be as bad as I fear, but I also gotta just accept that if I come up with something else I prefer later... I can always write a story again. But in the meantime, as the meme I saved says: write it badly, but write it. Because it doesn't exist until its written down, putting it out there is the hardest initial hurdle. Once thats done, at least it exists in some form. At least a real thing cqn be edited, or even rethought and rewritten. But critiquing an idea, a theoretical way of writing when its not even actually written down? Thats just procrastination at a certain point...

Anyhow. Do you have any long fic recs? Not necessarily complete, at least over 30k and perhaps Techno-centric?

oh i absolutely have fic recs. i find that it is... exceeding difficult to find well-written and long fic in dsmp fandom--WAY MORE than it was in, say, tma fandom, which is where i was before this. granted, my standards are also stupid high, which might be part of the problem. but im nothing if not tenacious, so i have some fic i find up to snuff enough to recommend. to you i present these things
1. my favorite is Visage by third_crow (133k words). ill recommend this to anyone who will listen and also anyone who will not. more ranboo centric, but its phil and techno find ranboo and, despite the fact theres obvs smth off abt him (the offputting and near-possessed state they found him in, his missing memories, and the fact they can't tell what kind of mob he's meant to be, to name a few), they decide to take him in. the mystery of this fic is really fun--a cool way to examine what having a server cut off from the end would do to their culture. also a neat adaption of ranboo's lore when the entire rest of the cast minus boreal trio, dream, and a few others ill leave as a surprise Simply Arent There. i also ADORE their techno characterization, and they have fantastic worldbuilding/mystery unveiling/cliffhanger abuse. i could talk abt this fic for hours. i love it
2. i read and posted about this one earlier today! the extradition by onelituli (103k words). its more dream centric, but its techno breaks dream out of prison and the two of them flee to hypixel skyblock. its just dream and techno becoming Real Friends while dream gets his shit together and heals/grows. the banter and dialogue is really nice and i had a good time reading it
3. angel, arson, blade, and void by thatbllladie (85k words). this one is more ranboo centric, but tis abt his involement in the syndicate, so techno plays a major role. its a hero au (...antihero au? the syndicate is just as legally iffy as they are in the dsmp). i really like what they did with techno in this fic, like, the bit w his powers was super clever and im so enamored with it
4. guitar strings and keyrings are what it takes to build a home by anonymous (63k words). techno pov foster au. he's been w phil for a while, and they deicde to take in tommy and wilbur, much to techno's chagrin. while i did almost close out of this fic midway thru do their choice to make techno a foil fencer (i simply think epee techno real), i Really enjoyed this and i thought it was a lot of fun.
5. actually speaking of sbi family dynamic, change fate by being aggressively kind by sircantus (91k words) was fun. i get the impression this is a popular author so you might know this one already? but its phil learns about a prophecy abt three kids who will one day end the world and decides to adopt all three of them. just sparks joy. (i also quite liked this author's stay underneath my wing (61k words), a zombie apoc sbi au, but not as much)
6. leave me your starlight by findingkairos (50k). its been a little bit since i read this one, but i remember its emerald duo, phil pov but techno centric. the plot's essentially phil meeting a young techno as a lonely teenage warrior, going "is anyone gonna befriend that" and not waiting for an answer. i really enjoyed the writing style, and also im learning im a sucker for any fic where techno is amking a friend and everyone techno knows pulls that friend aside to say "yknow techno? he acts scary and tough but hes actually very sweet. and if you hurt him we'll destroy you." also the adaption of stuff like tournaments and hypixel and the antarctic empire and phil's hardcore world was all really neat. this fic also comes in a series of mostly unrelated other pieces called to you i gift the end of things. i havent read all of them, but i really enjoyed the ones i did. special shoutout to these three fics from that series:
a. Home, a oneshot about techno making a single player world and having peace (think retirement but it simply does not end)
b. oh dear, can you see me?, a very long fic (63k) abt kidza being used as a weapon and techno helping him heal. very heavy
c. the lilting dance of binary stars, a oneshot where every time techno or phil die, theyre reincarnated into kids. phil dies while techno is in retirement, and techno takes him in.
iiii think thats enough for now? a quick run on the calculator app tells me this is about 661k words, so, thsi should last you like. idk. a week? at least

Dear Miss Kina, it's me again! First of all, congratulations on finishing your final fanfic on this blog! It was immensely what i've been waiting and hoped for. You definitely played with my heart till the very end! It's kind of like - with every fic you've released till now from Seokjin fics to Jungkook fics - every one of them are all so perfectly crafted, every member gets so written well that sometimes time flies so fast when im reading it!

And it was really worth it (im wriitng this at like 3am too) like damn i was pausing every second because I was just trying to decipher whatever was happening in each scene, it was all a lot to take in because with each scenario created with the boys, it almost felt like six whole fics crammed into one! The scrollbar was really small n wasn't moving at ALL when i was reading the first few parts and i was like, "wait this feels more like a 60k than a 31k ㅠㅠ" ??? Like how??? But i was smiling as i was reading through the whole thing, to find out it was a Jin centered fic -- and honestly all of your Jin fics are godtier -- i was like "YES YES YES OMG YES I THINK I KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING" n it was real fun to guess which member went next and how the scenario would turn out.
N i really loved how smooth u incorporated both oc and Jin during each scenario, their bickering was so fun and their moments made me go "AWW WTF I WISH I WAS OC ATM" AND OMFG especially that parf where ic asks jin if he ever knew her before everything happened n the whole "like you love me" scene went down -- my mouth was WIDE open i was tearing up and i screamed so loud lmaooo omg ur like the only writer to actually make me react so violently about that ○_○ n when the scene wherein oc wakes up and doesnt see jin and rushes out, the way you wrote it, you sense the urgency and the dishevelled/rampant thoughts of hers when she sees seokjin on the floor bleeding like that and all the way to the hospital scene where she cant even talk despite feeling so sick DAMN i cant even stop staring at the screen even tho my head hurts from being awake all night (but honestly ur worth it)
Like if i had to rank the individual realities where reader ended up with, i think the one i got sadder for was the Taehyung reality -- the oc in that universe couldn't even have time for herself n gradually drowned in becoming a mother and a wife n all i could think of was "tae u should at least treat your wife >:((" n with Yoongi's i was like "whut's happening," and instead of being hurt about it i for no reason started to discuss my thoughts onto thin air "i dont want a partner like yoongi, they dont have time for e/o n thats kinda sad" n thats where i really started to guess maybe every scenario has a major downside but i had to figure it out. N then with Hoseok n Joon's i felt my heart crack a lil bit bc the oc's insecurities in that part (she felt world's apart to hobi n then inferior to joon) i was like...this is me n I DIDNT WANNA FEEL THAT WAY IN A RELATIONSHIP so then again i started to talk to myself looool. Then we have Jimin's that got me like damn :(( thats kind of harsh -- being in a reality with oc in the picture removes the fact that jimin had a stable life. And i guess with every scene you made with all members (did that intend to give me life lessons or sum uhh)
And last but not least, Jungkook's! Not gonna lie, i also thought he was gonna cheat on oc bc she mentioned she was a racer, thats the reason he was late to her bday dinner, but then the dots started to connect when she mentioned why jin looked solemn in the hospital (re: everything that i mentioned a paragraph or two before)
I do know this was loosely based on TATBILB, but as i was reading through it i found so many similarities to it. Like the BTS UNIVERSE incorporated in where Jin goes back in the last to try and desperately change the future where he is not there in order to stop people from getting hurt. And also Orange (one of my fav mangas) where Naho received letters (along with her friends) from her alternate self to save Kakeru from committing suicide, and it had the happy ending too wherein she stopped him from getting right in front the truck (tho there were mistakes that she didnt do correctly)
And that's all 😭🤧 im sorry if this ask was really long. But i wanted to say thank you for creating all of these wonderful stories! They made my day n i could still rmember finding out about you as a baby army myself so i could say you were part of my journey as a new army msksksksk. It was such a great fun time to be waiting for new fics to drop, new chapters released and announcements and funny asks to scroll through on my tl! I do hope you do well in whatever you embark on from now on and hey you'll finally get to publish a book! And i'll most likely read that too ^^ happy 5 years to the blog^^ thank you user Jimlingss, thank you Kina!
omg thank you for this amount of feedback and your extensive praise, I feel undeserving of it hahaha anyway, thank you for taking your time to enjoy the end. honestly, I was aiming for it to be a 50k fic to just really indulge you all as my last story. But as I was writing it, it turned out muuuch shorter to my exasperation. but it still stands as my longest oneshot and I think it ended up pretty great in spite of being so much lower than my intial word count goal. that being said, I'm glad it felt long to you!!
Also thank you for giving me a run down on your thoughts on the other timelines LOL it was really fun for me to think about it as well and consider what OC and Jin would've chosen had they chosen. While each had their downsides, some of them they liked more than others. since you indulged me so much with such a long message, I'll indulge you as well....OC's choices prob would've been JK > Tae > Joon > Hobi > Yoongi > Jimin. While Jin (if he could make the choice for her), it would've been Joon > Tae > Yoongi > Hobi > Jimin > JK.
I came up with the whole idea of the end. while watching TATBILB cause I thought this whole alternative reality worlds was gonna happen but nope, they took a much different direction lol and I'm happy to hear you mention Orange bc that was one fantastic manga I read!! Personally, I find the end. to be the love child between The Truth Between Us and The Seven Kinds of Love (with a sprinkle of Seven Seconds in Heaven) hahha there's definitely elements of pre-existing stories to this guy but I don't mind so much since it feels like almost a call back to them :')

Hey, so I wanted to know if you're planning to write and publish a physical book someday, because I have to say: your writing is amazing.
I have been thinking it since I read your East Sea of Monsters AU on AO3, but what did it to me was your Till The Sea Gives Up The Dead one shot. I couldn't stop crying for some minutes even as I finished reading.
HI ANON??? ANON??? thank you so very much for this ask when i first read it i could not stop smiling and like. vibing in excitement this is truly just me going <333333333 at you rn because this is honestly one of the sweetest things anyone has said to me about my writing!!
as to actually answer your question instead of just showering you with thanks - yes! one day, when i am financially independent and such aha. I have,,,, three specific ideas for an original work!! one is essenntially an enders game meets dimensional travel + found family shenanigans, which i have 50k for currently because i did that for my first nanowrimo, and hope to come back to someday, another is a space pirate novel which im REALLY excited about, and the last one is a novel about a young child who decides that conquering the seas isn't enough - she needs to conquer the sky as well, and give herself that horizon. None of these besides the first have any substantial writing to them or charactters as well -
original writing is a different beast than fic. while creating the world is easy enough to me, the characters need to all be fleshed out,,,, and plot. Plot is a need.
so, short answer: yes! i am planning to publish an actual book someday! i most likely will not link it here due to my real name being on the book (unless i choose to write under an alternate name), but hopefully you'll be lucky enough to stumble across it someday :DDDD
(and also im so glad you enjoyed esom and till the sea!!!!! two of some of my beloved fics, and im so overjoyed that you enjoyed them. that's a lot of joy. ah well i feel joy rn aha. but look forward for an update to till the sea in the coming days!!!)

How’s the prompts going?
The prompts are going good! I've gotten four, and they are all SO good. (Also, my ask box is still open, so keep them coming!*)
*someone asked-- the prompts don't have to be luberto, I'm super happy to write about Giulia, write about Alberto's mental health, etc.
EDIT: HI, so it's late and turns out that I'm feeling very talkative. I rambled on for a good amount of time about the prompts I got and how much I love them. So I'm dropping a read more, so this post doesn't clog up anyone's dash
One of the prompts I got is a single point of change au type prompt, where Alberto doesn't tell Luca that he's sea folk when they meet (the chaos!) it's so good. I LOVE writing miscommunication fics. Like the fake dating au I've releasing soon, so much miscommunication. it's the best.
The other one is this super angsty Alberto prompt where he’s dealing with the anniversary of being abandoned by his dad, which is like… *chef’s kiss* I’m so excited to write that.
omg wait I got two more while writing this. Let me read them real quick--
hades and persephone au-- yes 100% incredible. But babe (/platonic), have you considered an achilles/patroclus au or an orpheus/eurydice au? Bc I kid you not, I've been playing around with the idea of a greek tragedy au for my next long fic. (granted, hades/persephone is not a tragedy, but like.... mm. the ending of Luca is bittersweet, and what if we just pushed it to full on tragic 👀)
's fan art? She has two pieces where Luca and Alberto have matching tattoos, and I am SUCH a big fan. I wrote a little ficlet in the notes of one of them.)
also there was a tattoo parlor/florist au which, if you like that combo you should join the good omens fandom, because im like 99% certain that there was a reverse!omens au where crolwey was an angel who ran a florist's shop, and Azirpahale was a demon who ran a tattoo shop. Honestly, the hardest thing is not turning these prompts into full-fledged fics (they're all so good and all deserve like 5k-50k word fics), but I'm going to have to cap them to 500 words for the ask box format. (That saiiiid. I do gravitate to my ask box prompt writing if I want to start a new project. so they could become something more, but it'd take more time for me to do that so no guarantees. )
Lastly, I have already written for one of the prompts. I meant to edit and upload it today, but I was ended up playing a video game* during my normal writing time so.... that'll be up tomorrow

everything you could possibly need to know
there’s a lot to a big bang, and plenty of things that warrant explanation! get your popcorn, this is a decently long post. beetlebabes shippers, you are Absolutely not permitted to participate, so you can skip this post and the popcorn. or have popcorn anyway, i don’t care.
what is a big bang?
a big bang is an event over the course of a certain period of time (for this particular event, about four months) where writers write fics of at least ten thousand words (10k) and artists make some form of art to go along with it.
ten thousand words? that’s an awful lot.
as someone who has written fifteen thousand words in one day, it’s absolutely doable. im a 3 time nanowrimo participant, and i know the ropes of oa-ing (overachieving).
to make this absolutely clear - i know someone who can write 5k in an hour. i know people who have written 50k in three days. i know people who do 10k days consistently (im one of them!) and a lot of these people have work, school, families, some, all three. so you can absolutely do 10k in four months.
if at any point you need to hear that yes, you can do this - im your dude. i pushed my bff, who had never written more than 2k in one day in their life, to do a 10k day. if they can do it in one day, you can do it in four months. (or all in one day! i did my heathers big bang fic that way.)
i will say this multiple times in this post, but let me make this clear: you can start writing the second you submit the signup form. the only real regulation of how fast you write is that you need to have 1k for the artist pairings by february 23rd, and that you need 10k by april 24th.
im not trying to make you do a 10k day, the point of this is that plenty of people have done it, so you can too. if you want to do it all in one day, by all means, do it, or go slow and steady and casually finish on the 23rd of april.
how does the event work, exactly?
*cracks knuckles* okay, this’ll take a bit, get your popcorn refill now, if you ate it all during writer encouragement hour.
all signups open on december 1st. all signups run until february 3rd
you can sign up for more than one thing! i myself will sign up to be just a writer and will end up doing art no matter what, you can sign up as a writer and a beta, an artist and a beta, a writer and an artist, or all three. go nuts! (within reason)
everyone will get both an email and tumblr message after they sign up, so you’ll know if it went through or if your internet sucks.
once writers submit their signup form, go right ahead and start writing!... or don’t! but you’re going to need 1k worth of whatever fic you’re doing done by february 23rd. on the 16th, writer check-in 1 will occur, making sure you’re at least ready-ish for the 1k submission and the next thing - pairings!
writers will fill out a form giving a working title for their fic, a summary, pairings, warnings, ships (again, no beetlebabes), tags, etc. this form is due by the 26th! im known to be relaxed-ish with dates/deadlines, and the next part doesn’t happen until the 28th in the event someone needs a bit more time. but do your best to have it done by the 26th!
on the 28th, a post will magically appear for artists to claim fics! this will have all the information the writers just submitted, with a magical number attached to it.
artists will then fill out a form where they will select their top 3 choices for fics to art for, which is due by the march 2nd.
on the 6th, everyone will get a fancy message (an email and a tumblr message, to make sure you don’t loose the information!) telling them who they’re paired with! once that happens, writers, please send your artists a hello and a google doc/some sort of magical link leading to the 1k (or more) that you have done so far, so they’ve got something to work with!
while all of this is going on, the one and only beta check-in will occur february 23rd, and will be due by midnight on the 24th. this is to make sure anyone who signed up awhile ago is still there there will be a handy dandy post with the usernames of beta readers going up feburary 27th, and writers can refer to that if they’d like a beta, simple as that!
once that’s done, y’all are free range chickens, other than check-ins. artist check-in 1 is march 13th (this is mostly to make sure you’ve all gotten in touch with your writers). writer check-in 2 is march 20th, and you’ll need to show that you have about 50% of your fic done at that point.
the penultimate writer and artist check-in is on april 5th. this is when shit gets serious, because posting week is in two weeks and some change. this is also when i will begin freaking out and having to take over for people who have dropped out.
on april 10th, there will be the handy dandy posting day form! basically a super quick form where you can select the date between april 24th-may 1st that will work best for you and your partner. if after you submit your form you find out you need an extension, don’t worry, just contact me!
the !!!!!final check-in!!!! is april 19th. if you are not done yet, **this is crunch time!** you will have at least 7 days before you post, maybe a little more, but this is when it gets extra serious if you’re not ready. now’s a good time to check in with your partner that you ghosted a month ago and make sure they’re all good. if not... good luck. (jk jk, just contact me to get an extension.)
POSTING WEEK is april 24th-may 1st. you’ll be assigned a posting date by april 12th, so you’ll have plenty of time to request an extension, or ghost me and force me to send you messages like a clingy ex-boyfriend, begging you to come back to me. this is also the time where i will *really* freak out.
and then you’re done! woo!! much accomplishment!!! now i will go take a stress nap for seventeen hours and get drunk off sweet tea.

a reminder to keep walking
-2010 i met my bf & i wouldn’t be here without him
-2011 a year i have no memories of other than self harm & suicide attempts
-2012 was still bad, but i finished a book. i found a better online community, few memories intact other than the journal i was writing oc things in at the time
-2013 changed everything. finished school, got Out Of There, started working, started studying game design, got into homestuck, bought my first sketchbook and decided to learn to draw !!!! started writing character pieces nonstop & got evernote to organize the sheer load of content i was putting out. first true oc playlists. dark maiden hell of october ‘13 will never be forgotten. also watched evangelion which,, seemed prophetic & helped me understand who i was & where i wanted to go
-2014 i struggled a lot, keeping up with uni while working was impossible but i couldn’t afford uni otherwise. wrote and wrote and wrote a lot. it’s always kept me going
-2015 i dropped out of uni. made my first forrays into digital art, starting working on my oc website. got an apprenticeship that was awful & i dropped out of after two months. i wrote so much to get through the day during that time. black swan happened. i wrote so much. my writing changed that year. my storyverse changed. finished the same book but better. at christmas i restructured my entire worldbuilding to justify one (1) thing from black swan writings & i found the core of the story that i’m still working with today.
-2016 i had a good repetitive manual task job that allowed me to think abt ocs all day everyday and i wrote heaps whenever i came home. i signed up for regular old university, english and japanese, where i still am. i moved out of my shitty home life & in with my boyfriend & not once have i looked back. i’m in such a better place here
-2017 was hard bc i was adjusting to everything. couldn’t figure out if i was close to uni friends or not. writing was shaky bc suddenly i lived with a person i liked and couldn’t hole myself up in my room alone to write to forget. i still startle when someone intrudes in my space and i don’t see them coming, even if i love that person. did nanowrimo for the first time & wrote a draft for white crown. sparked and went absolutely wild on writing after that
-2018 big writing spark carried over into the new year and i wrote abt 50k a month. read shades of magic which was responsible for Some Things. wrote a screenplay. finished a big chunk of uni milestones in the summer w/o breaking against deadlines. finished another version of the same book with updated worldbuilding now. burned out. went to japan for the last three months of the year, which was good but also killed me. had a crush on [redacted] im still not fully over her. got into critical role & dnd right as the year ended.
-2019 i’ve kept saying this was the worst year of my life & in some ways it was, but looking back, i’ve come so far. i have a solid friend group now & i’ve pulled them all into dnd and we started playing together. i got myself into therapy for various mental health issues i still struggle with and hopefully will be diagnosed soon. i didn’t write a lot. i didn’t draw a lot. but i found my place with art in the last few months & i’m about to finish my 6th sketchbook all full of oc art that past me could never have imagined i’d get to draw with my own two hands. i’m getting somewhere. i can see that i’m getting somewhere, with art, with writing, with life. it’s still hard, but i’ve come so far, and i will go farther still.
as i’m writing this it’s 11:47 on dec 31, 2019. next year i will finish my BA and start doing a masters in translation. i’m three chapters into editing a new version of the same book and i love it. i’m listening to oc songs loudly. i want to get into digital art for real next year. i always try and despair because i don’t know what i’m doing. my only resolution for next year, for the next decade, is to try and keep trying because if i’ve learned anything from the past ten years then that to keep trying is all that matters and it will get you anywhere. it got me somewhere. at the end of next year i want to post an art summary of the year with all digital art. and at the end of next decade, i want to post an art summary of the decade. also finishing that one book and moving on to the 17 others i have planned would be nice. cheers :3c

so what have i been up to whoo boy.
its been about 2 years since i kinda left this in the dark. a lot has happened.
1. work. i work at a certain member based retail company in its deli. known for its 5 buck chicken. tough job, but its mine.
2. furry things. i have my two suits (eventually going to be four) all are dragons.
3. i got a new car at the start of february! i completed a goal that i set myself from last year! paid off 100% up front!
4. medical issues of the non-vital, but no less important. variety.
5. my mother was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in november.
work these past few months has been the buisiest it has ever been in the 3 years ive been working there. as the american public erroneously believes that the pandemic is waning, people are going out more frequently and doing unhealthy amounts of shopping. shopping that has resulted in very real shortages. to help compensate corporate added another product that has the added downside of turning my job from a difficult 1-man job that (until recently) I could actually do quite well. as im writing this i actually just began a much needed 2 week paid vacation, and will be going to my first furry convention, Vancoufur. Assuming I test negative tomorrow (which i should, given i’ve been pretty much firmly mask on since day one of the pandemic) I am poised to finally have some much needed fun on my terms. but i finally broke 50k in paychecks this year! sure there’s costs about it but i actually do have the start of a dependable nest egg. but there’s also a looming thing which has been eating at me, and it came to a nasty head recently and im now in a rather... nasty bind.
If you’ve been following me on twitter you’ll know that I have been going off about my knee since december. shits bad. real bad. I’ve been keeping it quiet from family and most friends but this is kinda the last bastion of relative privacy i have since most of my newer friends don’t know this place exists yet. as some of you know i broke my knee around 9 years ago. I dealt with the ramifications of it ever since. It was a bad break, the type of break that involves screws and other fun stuff. i was told outright that it would need work later in life, around the time of 45-50. keep that in mind. fast forward to december. im walking through one the closest forest park trail to my seattle home, its got a fair amount of slope for it, and makes a decent enough hike. but then i stepped on a rock. a loose rock. the fall was blunt and the i landed on my bad knee. i gave it about 15 minutes before attempting to get back up, and i could walk back up to where i had parked, but it was hurting bad. got home, took some anti-inflammatory and pain killers and called the doc.
waking up that next day was fine. walking on it was pure agony. ended up calling in two days waiting for my appointment. when that time came, my fears were confirmed. the fall i took damaged the area around one of the screws and the synovial tissue around my knee was awful, and it wasn’t being generated to keep the joint lubricated to prevent the bones from grinding. two things happened. one, steroid shot. two knee brace. I have that knee brace on all the time now at work. requirement. docs said i would need knee surgery again before 5 years are up else the steroid shots and knee brace won’t be viable for keeping me standing.
and then comes that one insidious bugbear of america. health insurance. and it should come to absolutely nobody’s surprise that health insurance refused anything to do with a knee surgery as long as the steroid and knee brace are happening. unfortunately they still, one month later after we realized the true scope of what is happening., acting like a bunch of weapons saying “oh you’re already on something surely it’ll last more than 5 years.” i dunno but the two docs i’ve been talking to on the matter say otherwise but alas. what can i do. i was then told they would cover it when i turn 40. here’s the catch. im 26, almost 27. thats 13 years away. and when the docs say that i can only stand for another 5 years at the most in the best circumstances, i think you can imagine the raw, undistilled rage I’ve had in me through this whole month.
so guess who’s in the market for mobility aides before the age of 30. this guy. work does know my plight, so when things start getting more uncomfortable with the brace and steroid, i’ll be able to transfer to something far less strenuous. as it currently stands (pun intended), the knee brace and the steroid has left me feeling better than I have in years and part of me dreads knowing that this is only a temporary solution. I do have a good fund ready for the E. P. chair model i want in a few months and public storage unit for it because the house i live in (and will continue to live in for the foreseeable future) is not ada accessible and we do not have the money to change that.
The last detail was my mothers illness, which has largely been going as smoothly as cancer can be. father had an old work contact and we basically have the best doctor in this particular area of oncology, after 3 rounds of chemo, the surgery reduced the cancer levels to R0, which means if there’s any left, its microscopic in level. it didn’t metastasize to any vital areas, outside of a few external growths on the liver and colon which were removed. she has two more rounds of chemo to go for the treatment to end and at which point we watch and wait. i think this goes without saying, but honestly, fuck cancer.
so yea, these past 4 months have felt like four fucking years.

A. If i remember correctly, it is Hotarumaru!!! He arrived pretty early but I’m sure he got to 99 hella quick because of VOT AHHAHAA I love him!! He’s relatively fast for an ootachi + he’s cute!!!

A. First squad varies depending on event! (WTE is either all kiwame or newbies, VOT is tachi + ootachi; if it isn’t battle regiment?? all other squads are on expedition!) Currently: Second squad is 97 akita, 99 tarou, 99 micchan, 24 tomoe (extra haha a...) 97 yagen (for the naginata expedition!), third squad is for yari expedition, with 55 ote, 99 mutsu, 35 (extra) fudou (he levelled up by sheer force of expedition HAHAHAH) 99 ishi, fourth squad is 99 kashuu, 99 sayo, 99 kousetsu, 53 nihongou
if it’s battle regiment, it’s either all kiwame team again for first squad then the rest goes on exp. if not, first team is night battle, then tachi team, then uchi team.

I was horrified as he was already 90+ (ready to be sent out for kiwame! so thankfully not yet a kiwame) and i was near in tears! I got another gokotai and on the same day i level-ed him to 30?? ye. ahaha-

Summary: “This is all just one big mistake” Eddie says bashfully, “really? I thought it was kind of cute” he replies pulling the straw to his drink between his lips with a smirk.
“20 places with the best bread- no uh…. 30 things that can be used as a- ugh no…” Eddie glances at his untouched plate of pizza, “15 italian cuiseans to step in- oh my god im so fired” Eddie groans and rakes his nails through his hair setting his laptop aside to stretch alittle in his criss cross pose on his bed.
His boss had given him the weeks lead project meaning come monday his article would be plastered on every social media website and could be shared world wide. Something Eddie had worked hard to earn, he usually had no problem getting fairly favorable acticles out but now his idea bank was bone dry. Perfect timing for writers block. He groans aloud as his usual work playlist starts over again for what feels like the hundreth time a crule reminder of how long hed been sitting there and how little work had gotten done. Eddie loved the classics he really did but he needed something new.
He grabbed for his phone scrolling through bands currently trending puckering his lips so to help him think and focus, something he picked up from his mom watching her paint her nails for so many years.
He sighs through his nose before giving up on his persistent scrolling and just clicking on a random band, pulling a piece of pizza to his lips standing as he took a bite.
Music filled his room a calm bass line starting the song soon followed by drums and- ’god that voice’ he thinks to himself kinda dancing in place to the music.
He knew he had heard the song before over the radio on his way to work but never paid it much mind knowing soon itd become over played and hed hate it. But now that he was listening to it on his own time it actually sounded good. Really good.
He picked up his phone looking at the bands name, ‘Mouth’ Eddie furrows his brows kinda laughing to himself, what kind of band name is Mouth?
Eddie shrugs and sits back nodding his head a little to the song pulling up the band on google as he listened along, choking when he caught a glimpse of the lead and only member on the band, Richie Toizer. His face flushes and he finds himself biting his lip looking at the man on the screen his curls are unruly, his glasses make his eyes at least three times bigger than their actual size, and hes pale for someone living in California. Hes fairly attractive for someone whos stage name is 'mouth’ he wonders why he woukd pick something so dumb to be his alias.
He goes to instagram quickly finding Richies account scrolling through it his crush growing by the second, it should be illegal for someone to be this fine. He looks to his laptop type bar blinking like its beakoning him, he looks back to Richies picture, if life was a cartoon this would be the part a lightbulb would appear above Eddie’s head he smirks to himself sitting back down pulling his laptop back into his lap taking one last bite of pizza.

When Eddie wakes up Tuesday and sees how well his article is doing he just about faints, hes stunned something he wrote, a fluff piece at that, had gotten so much attention.
He opens his notifications for twitter scrolling though noticing a large amout of them are his readers tagging Richie Toizer in the article. He throws his phone and his whole face goes red as he realizes he didnt think this all the way through.
He looks at his alarm clock and for the second time that morning feels like blacking out, he was supposed to be at work 20 minutes ago.
He really is going to get fired.
He rushes into work running past Heather at the receptionist desk who waves to him every morning, “im so sorry Heather ill bring you a bearclaw on Friday!” He yells over his shoulder, booking it up the staires to the second level where his office space resided.
He plops down in his desk chair sighing aloud as he logs onto his mac when a light tapoing comes from beside him, he looks up and smiles. “Hey Bill” he breath out still trying to catch his breath but eventually has to pull out his inhaler from a drawer, “so Mouth huh?” His friend chuckles out from above him. “Oh shut it” Eddie says half joking as he opens several of his social media accounts on his computer digging through thousands upon thousands of notes to see if Richie had responded to any of the posts hed been tagged in. “I c-cant believe you o-openly h-hit on someone in an a-a-article like that.”

I bought 50K worth of life insurance when I was in my 20's. Now I'm 45 and thinking I need another 50K more. Would i be better off to buy another policy and keep this one. I am 22 and have no health insurance. I am a pretty healthy person and don't have to see the doctor often. I just think it's a waist of money to get health insurance unless it's for accidents or something like that because in order to get an affordable monthly premium then your deductible is going to be high. I may never reach the deductible, but still have to pay the premium.
