As the Dracula posting begins again I will remind the internet that Dracula is not written in chronological order and by doing this daily Dracula stuff you are, for better or worse or both at times, getting a different experience than the original novel with the suspense and buildup completely different than the book

Also I just. Recommend reading the book. It’s still a rlly good novel and you can see how the authors intended order of events. And. You don’t have to wait for months to read a new page. Nodnod

Today we were getting out of the car to go to <place> and this little old lady—she told us she was eighty!—stopped us to ask what the name of the road behind us was because she was trying to get to her dialysis appointment. I ofc never know where I am, BUT I showed her how to use the Map app on her phone, explained that it will even say out loud when to turn so she doesn’t miss the turns. She was so amazed and was like “oh I’m going to go EVERYWHERE now!”

Yea I don’t know how companies with changing shifts can expect their workers to go from late shift ending 11 pm and then the very next week to start at 5 am.

I need weeks to shift my sleep rhythm just for like 2 hours. But they expect you to switch within two days into a 4-5h difference.

#i could not do that #at least not for long #my current company is that way but I only work part time so I have a few more days to adjust back and forth

i went to a tiny counterserve diner once and accidentally poured sugar instead of salt all over my hashbrowns and was eating them sadly anyways. the waitress took them away and started making me another one and I tried to protest, but she just snorted and said "we're not catholic here". now every time i'm doing something painful out of obligation i think about how that is not repenting, this body is not a catholic establishment, there is no nobility in suffering.

i don't think people really understand what's happening in gaza. with each passing day that sees more and more palestinians dead, it's becoming easier and easier for those in the west to perceive them as nothing more than a statistic. they might engage w the occasional palestine post, sure, but it's just as easy to scroll right past that moments later w no real outrage for the genocide retained.

it's vital to stay reminded that palestinians who are with us today won't be with us tomorrow. it's happening every second of every minute of every hour, and it's relentless. somewhere in gaza a little girl is losing her mother, a little boy is watching his siblings bleed to death, elderly people are infirm with starvation and illness, palestinian women and girls are being sexually assaulted and kept in cages, fathers are leaving tents to find food for their families and not coming back. this is all happening right now, and it's a direct result of the west's complacency. it's a direct result of their not seeing arabs as people worth saving.

it might be hard to compute as a westerner, but this is real. don't let your privilege blind you to your humanity.
