The hallowed halls of the distinguished boarding school were alive with the sounds of laughter and friendly conversation. The soft click of your heels along the marble floor echoed down the empty corridor as you made your way back from the washroom. When you’d excused yourself a moment ago, he’d been catching up with his mates. Talking about careers, families and other commitments, nothing too serious of course. Reminiscing on the gleam in his eye as he watched you walk away made you blush. No matter how long you’d been together, he still managed to leave you weak in the knees.
When you returned, though, he stood alone off to the side. That man could make a trash bag look good, but seeing him all dressed up like this had your heart aflutter. You admired him from afar for a moment as he sipped from a glass of champagne, when a beautiful blonde appeared out of nowhere and put a hand on his arm. A surprised and delighted smile spread across his handsome face, and you froze in your tracks. Who is that? They seem to know each other well, how she caresses him as they embrace in greeting. Your face burns in a mix of embarrassment and…something else. Jealousy? It feels silly to be so jealous of this beautiful stranger, and you do your best to keep the intrusive thoughts at bay. Snatching a flute of champagne from the tray of an unsuspecting waiter nearby, you take a swig to settle your nerves and cross the room to join them.
Her giggle echoes loudly through the hall, her head thrown back in flirtatious laughter when you approach. Henry opens his arms and welcomes you into his side with a smile. Beaming with pride to have the woman of his dreams at his side, he clears his throat to get her attention. “Heather, meet my love,” he makes the introduction, leaning in to brush his lips against your ear. He can feel the tension in your shoulders, and it doesn’t take much to read your mind. He’s always been good at knowing exactly what you’re thinking. “Darling, this is Heather.”
Heather gives a tight-lipped grin and a pert little nod your way. It’s clear that you’re just as much of a surprise as she is to you. “Right. Hello, there. Henry hadn’t mentioned you.” You narrow your eyes as you look her up at down. Well, are you a peach, you scoff to yourself. “It’s nice to meet you,” you grit through clenched teeth. Smoothing a hand down the front of his chest, you let it draw her attention to the beautiful solitaire diamond as it glimmers in the light. Her eyes grow wide for a moment, and for once, she’s speechless.
“Oh...I see," she whispers, then nods. Taking a step back, she prepares for retreat. "It was lovely to see you again, Henry. Enjoy your evening." With that, she was gone, and then there were two. Henry let out a soft little chuckle as he turns to admire you instead.
"That certainly was...something." Taking your hand into his, he brings it up for a gentle kiss. "For the record though, love, Heather's harmless. Water under the bridge."
Though you listen, you barely comprehend what he's saying. There was a history there, she made that very clear, and you didn't like it. Chest heaving, cheeks flushed, adrenaline courses through your veins as you start to settle down again. Your body trembles, head reeling from your small bout of fight or flight, and you don't even notice that he's circling you now. Hungry eyes size you up, a predator stalking his prey, and it isn't until he grabs you by the waist that you realize what's on his mind. He's never seen you like this, so eager to protect what is yours, and it lights a fire that he hadn't anticipated needing to tame tonight.
"Hm...you don't seem to believe me." Brushing your hair from your shoulder, he leans in to inhale the sweet scent of your perfume from the pulse point at your neck. His eyes darken, as his gaze shifts from your throat to meet your eyes. "What do you say we call it a night? I think I've got something better in mind."
He doesn't give you a chance to respond, not that you'd protest anyway, before he sweeps you up into his arms. Pressed against his chest, you feel the tip of his nose brush against the shell of your ear as he lowers his voice for only you to hear. "Let me refresh your memory, Darling. Maybe then you'll know just who I belong to."

Fraser/Vecchio- A Personal Reflection
Now I came to Due South on the trail of the killers of my father-- wait, no, that's not quite right. Let me try again. I came to Due South on the trail of this gif set. Eaion sold me the instant I saw it. I knew I had to see these two guys who were stuck in crevasse together.
One slight problem- the gif set is from the very end of the show and I had a daunting sixty-some-odd episodes, and a whole different partner, between me and it. It's fine, I told myself; I'll check out the first guy, see if he's worth it, and if he's not, I'll move on to the main attraction.
So I started at the beginning--and that's where I fell in with the show, the characters, and a brand new ship. These are my thoughts about the Due South pilot, written out while I re-watched the pilot.
I liked Fraser instantly. It's not hard to in those first few minutes; he's a grieving son who is searching for his father. He's sweet, he's polite, he's dedicated to justice-- literally what more could you ask for?
What I didn't expect was to like this first Ray so quickly. When he strode down to Fraser doing statute duty, shirt open, chain visible, loud mouth going, I knew I was in love.
But I hadn't yet spotted the ship on the horizon. I was simply enjoying the burgeoning friendship as we met Diefenbaker and began our investigation.
I started to see the glimmer of something in the scene where Ray find Fraser reading Bob Fraser's journal in the diner. I adore that we see Ray opening up to Fraser about his no-good father, and we get that sharp contrast between the two.
But the ship finally took form during the dinner scene. I am a complete sucker for the way the Vecchios immediately take him in as one of their own. I mean, the way Ma Vecchio says she likes him because he's polite-- does that not read like something you would say if he brought a girlfriend home?? It's so natural for Fraser to be there. It's like he was always a missing piece in Ray's life.
Just, oh gosh, the way Ray so clearly trusts Fraser (he brings him into his home!) and the way they're already falling into place makes me grin like a total fool. That's literally what I'm doing as I write this!
Then, we get to see them track down a lead together. Now, this is an integral moment in a buddy cop dynamic. They have to have some chemistry as they solve cases, and by god, Due South delivers in spades when the time comes. Fraser trying his hand at one of Ray's hunches! They're already rubbing off on each other. And Ray gets a great moment of comedy as he reacts to Fraser's first licking scene.
So here's another thing that kills me-- Ray calls them friends as they walk to the Chinatown apartment! They have an immediate connection! I'm screaming! They are meant to be together!
After they establish that they're friends, we get to see some angst—beautiful, wonderful angst. Everyone is at their lowest, and circumstances are pulling Ray and Fraser apart. Tell me this isn't just the normal 2/3rds point in a romance novel where our couple is pushed apart.
But that makes their reunion so much sweeter. Ray came all the way up to bumfuck nowhere NWT after solving a case he probably wasn't even on anymore! He was that eager to come up there and tell Fraser what he'd discovered.
And then, of course, they look you right in the eye and have Fraser ask, "Can I help you out of that?" I AM SCREAMING! Literally kicking my feet up! They know what they're doing!
Next is the big fight/chase sequence where Fraser gets to drive Ray around on a dog sled which is cute and sweet.
Special mention here of Diefenbaker, as I've mostly been glossing over his cuteness. And he's a poor baby at the end.
Finally, we have the ending. Not Ray riding off into the distance together-- I'm talking about when Fraser is standing guard outside of the consulate again, and Ray is already back prattling at his new best friend. ❤️

Finally! Some team bounding time and conversations! Can't wait to see how their missions will turn up. I was under impression that Imogen will re-think her choice and will go to assassination mission to save Liliana, due to her attempt to convince them to take her as a prisoner... Well, technically she still can reach out and warn her. This scene between Temults was heartbreaking. I hope that assassination will fail, to be honest. There is still chance for Liliana, I am sure.
Fearne is going to meet her real father. Can't wait for see this reunion.
Imogen and Laudna convo... A lot has been unpacked, however Laudna hide the truth about reilora whose power she absorbed. However, I dont think she lied, just choose her words carefully with this symbiotic thing. Also, it kinda unfair, since she indeed has no choice considering her mental state at that Bor'Dor moment and was practically pushed by Orym and partially Ashton to this path, which Imogen is not aware of. Probably, this current railora in question shouldn't be a big problem due to time his body will spend in hole. However, Laudna should trust Imogen more, this woman can handle this, she is ok with dead warlock in her head, what could be more romantic?
"I am not a sweet girl!" - is this as sign, that Laudna is starting to fight her trauma/sweet voice in her head and try create some boundaries after this talk?
P.S. Delilah probably was sitting in Laudna head with a boal of pop corn whole this time. She is a sucker for a good star-crossed lovers drama.

Co-parenting Found Family
[Miu (has a baby), Rantaro, Tsumugi & Kokichi friend group, Saiouma]
Me: you ever read a crackfic one-shot and realize you'd want to read a serious longfic with the same premise?
cause now I am thinking of this stupid.. pregnant Miu shows up to saiou's apartament, asking Kokichi for help
but instead of going with the crap about her not realizing she's pregnant for this long, I would like it to be angst inspired by her lhs
Clown: Yessss!!! I read that one!!! Absolutely loved it, mostly because I'm a sucker for them navigating something like this so ridiculously
Me: I liked it too, the joke about her not being able to tell rubbed me the wrong way, but it was actually nice after that, I would read more of it if they write a continuation
Me: basically, Miu ghosts everyone for a few months, not that unusual, she can disappear in her projects, she pops back up to brag about the prize she got for it when she's done, but not this time, this time she shows up to saiou's apartment, severely pregnant and devastated
turns out she jumped headfirst into a relationship with some guy, tried to go through with her baby-trapping idea from LHS, because, hello abandonment issues, and for a bit it looks like she's exactly where she wants to be, but then, only weeks before she's due the guy ditches, leaves some note about realizing he's too young to be a father, and he's gone
also, I'd add https://archiveofourown.org/series/976308 friend group to the mix, so while Ouma is the first person she comes to, the whole gang unites to help her
Clown: The friend group coming together instead of another potential partner is clenches fist so good.
Miu is someone who is pretty fixated on relationships, it's almost as though in her mind she won't really be completely until someone loves her that way. So to give her a chance to move past that in this situation is just so interesting
AND ITS JUST SO GOOD! In my mind for her to come to ouma of all people. Because he provided some familiarity to her, some safe space where she can in her own way step back into her usual.
And Ouma would low-key go "shit. I'd jump shit too" and shuichi sends him a look but doesn't dare say anything because he kinda agrees. And it's a complete wreck but it's good
Me: yeah, if it's platonic relationships being as important as romantic ones, if not put first (actually, love Kokichi kicking Shu out so he can focus on comforting Miu), I am an insane person unapologetically
I just think. found family coming together to raise a child. like if you agree
I've done it before with DICE adopting a kid and I'll do it again
Me: Kokichi would agree with being the father, he's going to use it to gaslit their other ex-classmates (I imagine this is a few years post-HPA) into thinking he's the one who ended up with a kid
their friend group + Shuichi know the truth of the arrangement, but that's it
she might have been in a state of shock when she suggested it to him, but he's embraced it
he Will be "the ultimate dad", (she regrets coming to him instead of Rantaro or Tsumugi when she sees all the custom print tees he got)
he's telling Kaito about His pregnancy and childbirth experience the next time he comes over, he's preparing stories when it's aliens that got him pregnant, but no it was actually one of those dinosaur foam pills he swallowed, unless…
Kaito, who just wanted to eat lunch with Shuichi:

Me: on some bigger (as in just about the whole class is there) reunion, (probably a regular event organized by Kaede, like a movie or boardgame night) they look to Rantaro, who's always been the most reasonable of their group, and he's just mentally in the hehe hoho I'm an uncle and doesn't have more to add, he's zeroed-in on the baby, will get back to you later, maybe.

Me: I think after Miu cries herself to sleep Kokichi texts their group chat using their emergency code (sacred, extempt from lies) to get Rantaro & Mugi to come over the next morning so they can tackle it together because in reality, he's a little overwhelmed too, and in the moment doesn't know yet if Shuichi will adjust to this with him
so they all eat breakfast together, reassure Miu that they'll be there for her no matter what, start making a plan, a shopping list, beginning of a schedule, then Kokichi has to take the first scary step of the plan - talk to Shuichi about it; but Shuichi is like: yeah, of course
because how could he expect his boyfriend not to help out? this is literally why he loves him, of course he will go a little overboard when it's for his found family
he knew he had to prepare himself for Something when he saw Miu crying on his couch, at least it doesn't involve committing crimes against whoever hurt her, for now.
Clown: It's a big step!! (And very sudden) Even if it'll be a shared responsibility It's an entire new person! One that ouma is already in his mind accepted he'll be there for. He wouldn't immeadiately expect Shuichi to agree to something like that on a whim, but to know Shuichi is willing to look for solutions, to stay and work through it with him without question because of course. Sobs. Yeah. They've GROWN!!!
Planning would be hellish though. Oumas filling the table with hundreds of scribbled papers and everything. Yes absolutely we need to sign this bitch up for maternity classes. Fuck it, Rantaro you go too, check in with us later. Tsumugi!! Need 3 months of baby clothes STAT!

and, while this is all sweet, I think Miu also needs to get mental health help, get that girl some therapy, she needs to work out the flaw with her logic, because, while it was already proven wrong when the guy left her, she needs to be given alternatives and you know, I think she would struggle with her feelings about the kid, it was supposed to be her ticket to being loved, and the kid is certainly getting a lot of love, but… maybe she would want more attention for herself? how is she meant to score a relationship now? she's going to need help understanding that those people are her family and that she's already loved

Clown: YEEEAHHH. Honestly having a lot of people helping her out, some who give out reassurance easier than others, is a good start. But she is in that place where she's looking for something else to latch on.
Usually that's the kid. I feel like had she gone through this alone she'd be one of those mothers constantly flipping through "You ruined my life" and "your the only thing in my life that loves me unconditionally" towards her kid.
Ouma definitely helps in the way that he doesn't sugarcoat a thing.

Apollo: They manage to somehow get the baby proof thing off the outlet and Kokichi fucking dives to stop them
Clown: Miu is just "let it happen. This is how I learned!"
Apollo: Kokichi just looks at her, blood dripping from the cut in his forehead and mumbles about how 'That explains a lot'
Kokichi acts like kids will be kids and thus they get injured so there's no need to panic but the kid trips and he freaks the fuck out
Like the kid doesn't even fall over. They stumble slightly and Kokichi is instantly there
Clown: He's the doting one. He's sobbing going, "my god. Your going to hate me one day. I'll be cool!! You can do a drug!"
Apollo: Poor Shuichi wakes up to Kokichi sitting up in the middle of the night because he's stressing over if he's cool or not and Shuichi has to remind him that the kid isn't even a year old yet and thus, has no idea what cool even means
Beez: smh shuichi just lie to him and say he is
Clown: Shuichi for real he needs to know, is he the lamest guy at the daycare?
Apollo: He's too tired to lie right now.
Kokichi bursts into tears because is this his way of saying he isn't cool?
Clown: The pure betrayal!! From the one he trusted most!!!
Apollo: It's 2 in the morning [sob emoji]
Kokichi has to have his devices taken away because he's staying up searching up how to be the cool guardian
Ves: miu and him fight over who's the cool one when the kid is older

Me: I can see Miu and Kokichi arguing about which one of them is cooler, but it's definitely Miu who lets the kid get away with things (like not brushing teeth) to be cool, and would likely mean the letting them do drugs thing, Kokichi would scold her for that and then his version of cool is teaching them lockpicking and making the scary faces, which in turn, she tells him off for
Apollo: Kid says it's Rantaro and both of them decide that he must go /silly
Rantaro is riding the high while running away from Miu and Kokichi

sure the kid might pick up on swearing at the age of 5 BUT THAT'S OKAY
Apollo: I mean, kid's gotta learn at some point

sometimes uncle Rantaro or aunt Tsumugi come to pick them up;
both Miu and Kokichi love to act like they're a single mom, works three jobs when other kids' parents try to ask them about life, and sometimes complain about each other

Me: once the kid is a bit older they let Rantaro and Gonta organize a camping trip for them and their friends, Kokichi is crying when letting them go because he's a motherhen and his baby is growing up and not scared to sleep away from home and him because the bugs will kill them
Clown: Miu and Kokichi giving their all to be divorcecore so true
Everyone has ideas of the outrageous affair that ended their marriage that never happened
Beez: u just know the tea is PIPING among the staff
Clown: They're picking sides for sure
Me: imagine someone on the staff is homophobic so one of those days when it's Shuichi's turn, he gets told that his gay agenda is the reason the kid has to live in a broken family

also, I think Kokichi is the parent that always takes the chance to help out at school when they ask for a volunteer to join the trip or some event at school
idk, if it's an universal thing, but here it's common practice that when little kiddos go on trips around town one or two of the class moms are asked to join
after the first time the teacher is like "does anyone other than mr. Ouma wants to join? [sweat smile emoji]" but he persists
he's just a little to prepared for anything to happen and kids feed into that energy and it becomes entirely beyond the teacher's control

The children are the next in line to be a part of his criminal organization so he needs to see them regularly, duh

going off of one of the prev. writing ask meme things, was there a reason you left the Sassy rescue scene out? I do think it was handled in an interesting way in that what happened was vague and almost like, steadily uncovered as things continued, but I'm still curious for what the motivation was!
on my rereads it was interesting to see the small mentions of things I'd maybe missed the first time around (like, the mention of the empty pram on the sidewalk I was confused about until i was like OH, OHNO)
i think it def could've been interesting to see the 141 and specifically simon see her like that and be so invested and desperate but also having to be on their A-game to get her out of there alive. I'm assuming the ppl that took her didn't just give her back yknow lmao (i am a sucker for a good angsty rescue reunion i eat that shit UP)
anyways im curious to hear ur thoughts on that!!!

So, I actually wrote a good chunk of this fic (it’s titled ‘Rescue Me’) but never put it up because I was more focused on Sass and Simon’s relationship and telling that part of the story. I liked revealing little pieces of what happened here and there, and that’s usually the approach I take to most of my writing. I had planned on putting it up before ‘Home’ but it’s pretty graphic and violent, and I didn’t feel like it had good balance. Simon basically goes ballistic and loses himself in the search for Sass. He cuts off the hands of the men who tortured her, while they’re still alive. When she’s finally found, she’s practically dead. They get her on a medevac and (this was referenced in Home briefly by Sass when she’s talking to Price) he tries to shoot himself because he doesn’t think she’s going to make it and he doesn’t want to live in a world without her.
It is on my list to edited and posted though. One day.

Spoilers under the cut for those that haven’t watched season 2 of Sweet Tooth yet. I'm super late making this post because of unfortunate life events but here we go.
Season 2 was really good. I managed to have the energy to watch it upon release and it didn’t take me long to get through. I ended up finishing it only a few days into May.
It was nice to see Gus’s relationship with the other hybrids, though most of them that were there at the end of season 1 obviously were killed off and it’s odd that they forgot about all of them except for Roy. That was a shame. I can’t remember many of the surviving hybrid kids’ names, but the raccoon girl, Tommy Turtle, the bird girl, and the owl (?) girl are my favorites.
I was disappointed that Johnny was killed and I was hoping that General Abbot missed his shot and didn’t hit something vital. I was expecting Johnny to be found and actually help them against Abbot and be the one to kill him. Am I the only one who started shipping Johnny with Rani? I think they would have been a cute couple because it seemed like they maybe were starting to like one another as both he and Adi started going through their own mindset change. I wish Johnny and Rani would have ended up together.
I also started shipping Aimee with Jepperd. I was surprised that they killed her off. I was a bit disappointed, but it makes sense because her role will be Bear's now to fulfill. I was hoping that Aimee would have ended up with Jepperd, but I had a theory that the one Last Men guy lied to him about his family being dead and gave him some random people's bones and that his family was somehow still alive. I figured that Jepperd would find them alive again next season or a later season (which would be more likely), but then Netflix confirmed that Sweet Tooth was canceled after season 3 which sucks because the comics were apparently much longer and they could have made the series longer. Now I feel like Birdie and Jepperd will end up together perhaps.
Bear and Wendy's reunion was very nice. She'll do anything for her sister. Now she has the rest of the hybrids to protect and it will be interesting to see how their life unfolds with Bear. They've all been through so much and deserve happiness.
This brings me next to the Animal Army. I wish they could have gotten more screen time after Tiger had them betray Bear. They were an important organization and deserved more time to shine before they got killed off this season. I was happy that Tiger and Bear were reunited and that she could get her little redemption arc. Tiger died doing the right thing and was able to warn Bear that the Last Men were coming. I wish she could have lived longer.
Also, that teen boy Bear met when she snuck into the Last Men. I've already forgotten his name. I wonder if he survived and if we will see him next season. I feel like he could have been an important piece this season. He could have been one that could have been brainwashed and come to realize that hybrids aren't the bad ones. He could have seen the light if he would have stuck around Bear. They both could have been important to each other's character. I also started shipping them too. I wonder if we will see him next season and if we will get a reunion between them.
Season 3 is going to have a lot of shoes to fill: Gus and Jepperd's journey to find Birdie, Birdie making the cure, whatever Adi will be up to, whatever Rani is up to now that she's off on her own, Bear and the hybrid kids, and the woman who will take over as the villain for season 3. I wonder how they will get everything done in around 12 episodes. Maybe they will make a few movies?? Who knows. I can't wait to see what happens. I enjoyed this series a lot and I don't want to see it end so soon. I'm such a sucker for found family elements.

Zoro/Sanji - sorry for being predictable LMAOO I just really like how they're complete foils of each other in every single aspect, right down to personality and even fighting style. It's the opposites attract, push and pull of it deal, and also the fact they obviously VERY deeply care for each other but they're such tsunderes about it dfkghfjldl. Like I get why zosan is so popular and has been for years I truly do.
Luffy/Sanji - eheh...WCI was so good to them man but even before that, with Luffy's absolute desperation to have Sanji as his cook during the Baratie and even after Sanji says no, Luffy keeps going "NUH UH" and dragging him back hfgjkd. Like Sanji had the WORST attitude you could imagine and was a stubborn brat and Luffy went "That one. I've decided he's mine now." Also the way Luffy talks about Sanji a LOT he's always like "Yeah Sanji is the best guy ever, Sanji is so cool. Sanji makes the best food and he's so funny" like Luffy is crazyyy about this guy lmaooo they're so wholesome.
Nami/Vivi - They're just so...hrnngg even when Nami sees Vivi in the paper after years and her face just lights up 😭😭 The way she declared she was fighting specifically FOR Vivi in Alabasta, and she couldn't lose because this was for VIVI!! How Sanji even points out NAMI is the most upset upon their parting...and how Vivi admired Nami right back sooo much and how comfortable they were with each other....I need their reunion NOOOOOW
Roger/Rayleigh - *smiles in old man yaoi* To make this short I will literally never get over Rayleigh becoming a depressed, alcoholic old man after Roger's death EVEN THOUGH he has a hot wife like ??? the implication that Rayleigh tried to drown himself on the calm belt and that's how he met Hachi...Roger meant so much to Rayleigh and he was so lost upon Roger's death until Luffy came along and literally REMINDED RAYLEIGH OF ROGER and gave Rayleigh hope in the world again 😭😭
Nami/Sanji - I am such a sucker for the evil woman/submissive man dynamic you have nooo idea lmaoo like I was SO happy during WCI because Nami cared SO MUCH about Sanji and was just as desperate to get him back. The way she said she'd only forgive him this 'one time' then hugging Sanji and crying when they got him back UGHHH and Sanji ofc being head over heels crazy about Nami and how she just loves the worship?? I think they're so good I'm crazy about them dfhgjkd

Some general thoughts on Precure All Stars F:
1) I knew it going in, but it really is delightful that the literal plot of this movie is some kind of all-powerful alien capable of destroying planets deciding after a fight to become the most powerful being in the universe: a magical girl. (Complete with mascot made of the weak and useless parts of yourself like compassion and a desire for friendship and ugh you’re not destroying things with our incredible cosmic power, get away from me.)
2) Laura: I’m looking for someone (my girlfriend.)
Mashiro: What a coincidence! I’m looking for my girlfriend too!
3) Love how StarTwi staff have said Lala’s “On my home planet I am TOTALLY AN ADULT” is a lie, but she still got grouped in on Team Adult… as the token kid.
4) I will say, the evil alien bunny girl does have a really good sense of style.
5) Tsubasa just fanboys every time he meets a princess, huh. What a dork. <3
6) I missed Manatsu and Laura so much. But you know who I missed more? Nodoka. Also love the inherent in-joke of Nodoka talking about how she misses and is looking for Rabirin to Mashiro, who shares a VA.
7) So yeah the train part made me go wibbly. Also, Nodoka took up running to build her stamina but still can’t run as fast as the others, none of whom are particularly athletic but also aren’t chronically ill. YES. (Laura trying to use her tail to bridge the gap was a nice touch.)
8) A tiny puppy reminds Yukari of her girlfriend, who is a dog.
9) The reunions were so cute, all times. Team Soaring Sky getting a group hug. Manatsu and Laura getting a HUGE hug while Yui and Amane and Nodoka and Asumi’s are a bit more restrained. So cute. (And then meanwhile, the adorable bunny mascot with Serious Trauma is having a very reasonable freakout. Poor Puca.)
10) Team Wing sees explosions in the castle and just vanishes for like five minutes only to reappear having already defeated Supreme’s “final boss.” High achievers, all of them.
11) Also La Mer getting to do her little “Victory!” jump and kick after her attack, even though they’re still running. So cute.
12) Reiterating what I said when Toei posted the first Big All-Precure Fight Scene: People were not kidding, Milky Rose looks dead there, and I’m not sure we actively see her get up later in the scene when everyone rallies? I… assume so? Looking forward to people uploading screenshots of a lot of the quick shot sequences to get a closer look (that one and the Cure Allies shots during All For One Forever, in particular.)
13) So the last couple movies hadn’t used Miracle Lights. Sure. But would it really be an All Stars movie - for a milestone anniversary, no less - without them? Of course not.
14) I am always a sucker for a good memory montage featuring the power of love. And oh, that was a good one. Not sure my favorite: Manatsu and Laura and Yui and Amane reacting to their shared memories are both fantastic, but so’s Yukari just standing by the wall as her memory plays out, and of course they pick That Scene from Healin’ Good for Rabirin and Nodoka’s maximum emotional impact.
15) That said: Distinctly NOT a fan of Supreme’s design featuring a darker skin tone once she goes evil and only when she goes evil, even though she keeps the black costume change in the ending.
16) I was admittedly a LITTLE disappointed when I got the soundtrack to realize they weren’t repeating All Stars Memories with a like twelve-minute fight scene track that was a medley of the theme songs. I do love the eight-minute medley track. All For One Forever is more than acceptable as a substitute, though.
17) We finally get the Delicious Party/Kirakira a la mode teamup we all wanted and deserved. Plus, bonus food-themed Cures adding their own powers to the mix! The ULTIMATE battle cake.
18) Also great: Laura and Minami’s “did we just become best friends?” attack. (All the thematic combos were delightful but seriously La Mer and Mermaid just seeing each other and going “let’s do a combo” is PERFECT.)
19) Yukari and Akira trying to act cool once they’re reunited, like Yukari hasn’t been utterly miserable all movie because her girlfriend is gone. Lala wiping out some cannon fodder so Yukari can have a moment with her girlfriend. (Lala understands. Her girlfriend was past the cutoff for getting two major cast members this movie. Probably because Nodoka and Rabirin with Team Prism had thematic purpose and a sequence break would look seriously weird - Hikaru seems like a shoo-in for Team Sky’s Goofball Energy And Preme.)
20) Cure Puca, like Ellee, gets the benefits of being a Precure seemingly requiring you to be a humanoid teenager/whatever’s going on with Cure Earth Who Is At Least This Tall Unless You’re A Mascot: being able to give a heroic speech.
21) Things I’m remembering last-minute I enjoyed: Sora showing the others her Hero Diary and being sad when she sees the “We Are Pretty Cure” page of her and Prism holding hands. Sora incorporating Yui’s and Manatsu’s mottos into her own. The lead Cures during the Portals Sequence all being like “yeah we don’t really know what’s going on here but we’ve all been in an All Stars movie or several before, we can handle this, sure.” The emphasis on hand-holding in general, particularly that FLASH of the battle they lost and Precious that Sora gets the first time she takes Yui’s hand and the vaguer one for Manatsu’s. And in a “this amused me” way, the way everyone getting lined up for the battle before the Requisite Explosion Jump is just them floating in space like a bunch of dolls on invisible shelves because it’s the only way to manage this all, there’s like 80 of them, it is SO MANY PRECURE.
So yeah, solid movie, I enjoyed it greatly. Probably gonna give it a minute until I finally watch the Healin’ Good one.

Last true mouthpiece by @miwism (G, 1/1, 2k) - in which will and hawkins are one and the same. this fic opened up my eyes to a take on will-has-powers that i had never before considered but i have not stopped thinking about since i read it. i need more of eldritch will byers in this fandom & everybody should read this fic
don't leave me here alone by @strangeswift (NR, 1/1, 3.4k) - ok this one is EVIL. this one is GOOD. essentially: mike tries to convince will to run away with him to keep will safe from vecna, but will might not be the one who needs protecting... i am a sucker for some s5-speculative angst and this fic DEFINITELY delivers!

come to me again (in the cold, cold night) by @perexcri (M, 3/3, 16k) - i've been on a vampire kick lately and this is the fic that started it for me. featuring: estranged byler, vampires, dystopia, angst, reunions, and CONSISTENTLY BANGER prose. would not expect any less from a perexcri fic. this one is a little creepy and dark and is absolutely gripping the entire way through.
there will come a poet (whose weapon is his word) by @fizzseed (T, 1/1, 3.2k) - fics that include mike as a writer are always some of my favs. and when he writes for WILL??? ahhhh my heart!! he's just so sweet and dedicated and this fic is just SUCH a gem. i think byler's relationship with each other when it comes to D&D (separate from cleradin AUs) is so interesting and i'm so glad this fic explored it!!

So, after watching the Owl House finale at like midnight and then proceeding to freak out about it for the next few hours, I was too exhausted to really put together too many coherent thoughts. Anyways, here are some of my thoughts on the Owl House series finale:
MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW
*First off, I was not okay throughout the entirety of this episode, and I was constantly switching between smiling like an idiot and fucking sobbing, so it was a rollercoaster (in the best possible way)
*That nightmare sequence based off of Luz, Eda and King’s trauma built up throughout the show was a hell of a way to start off the episode
*Tbh though, I loved that the episode took the time to really address Luz’s fears and insecurities about being too much like Belos
*Luz figuring out it was all fake because Amity is a nerd and wouldn’t have misquoted Azura? That’s so funny and I love her for that
*The light spell really came back full circle huh, being the first spell she learned and the one that saved her multiple times in this episode
*The Luz, Eda, and King reunion?? Screaming, crying, throwing up, too many feelings to comprehend

*Luz seeing the hurt and loneliness in the Collector and giving them a chance to understand what friendship actually is was honestly so important to me. Plus, reliving all of those great moments through the show was amazing!
*I was wondering if the Titan’s heart was ever going to come into play
*I’m always here for shows that understand that kindness and forgiveness are important, but that not everyone deserves it (looking at you Belos)
*While Belos was not someone the Collector should have shown kindness to, it really goes to show how he wanted to change for the better and take Luz’s words to heart
*When Luz straight up fucking died, I was basically in denial until I knew she was okay. It still sucked though. I mean, the balls of light floating throughout the Boiling Isles, Camila crying, everyone not knowing what the lights mean, but also knowing that deep down, they understand, it was beautiful and heartbreaking
*The Collector trying to “fix” Luz and it not working and then being so confused and scared?? Absolutely not, excuse me while I sob again
*While I hate Eda and King being devastated about Luz, I wanted nothing more than to see them wreck Belos’s shit
*So many thoughts about King’s father! The reveal, the mini Hooty, conformation of the Titan being bigender, I loved all of it!
*Also, can we just talk about how the Titan didn’t give the powers to Luz because she was the chosen one or anything like that, but because she made the choice to be there and to keep fighting and the Titan recognized that? Because I love it!
*”So the question is, will you choose yourself?” I will never get over this line!
*The Camila and Amity hug?!
*Camilla and the others using the glyphs Luz had taught them was so cool!
*I really appreciate how the writers made sure that even though the Collector redeemed himself, he also recognized how his actions, no matter how naive or misguided they were, still hurt and traumatized people, and he apologized for it and put in the work to make amends and do better

*Eda and King helping Luz with the magic made me smile so much!
*Small moment, but Hunter specifically being the one to save Gus’s palisman? Guess I don’t need my heart then, thanks 😭

*Luz not saying a single word as Belos made one more attempt to manipulate her? Absolutely incredible. Luz understanding that she isn’t like Belos and not letting his words get to her and drag her down with him? Everything I needed to see
*All if the family reunions at the end had me crying, especially when Hunter thought he was all alone and then Darius appeared and Hunter immediately brightened up and was showing off his shirt and god, this episode has wrecked me
*I can’t even begin to point out everything I loved about the time jump epilogue, so I’ll just share some of my favorites!
*The new character designs! I loved every one of them! I freaked out every time a different character was shown
*Hunter learning how to carve palismen!
*Eda being the headmaster of the School of Wild Magic!
*The matching flapjack tattoos!
*Luz going to college in the Demon Realm!
*The Darius and Alador moment we got!
*The quinceañera?! Dana was so real for making sure we got to see that!
*Everyone saying the iconic Byeeee at the end, making me cry (again)

Hey @spoonergodofspoons has gotten far enough in one piece for me to start recommending fanfics so I thought it would be easiest to post them here! Consider this my one piece fanfics rec list for people who recently got halfway through dressrossa
Part 1: early asl reunions
Look I am a sucker for these fics, and aren't we all a little in denial about marineford?
A present that's a mystery (giving you your history) by midnightluck you might see that name a couple of times here, I love their fics so much idk if they have a tumblr
Anyway this is about 5.5k of sabo getting his memories back early (because koala found embarrassing baby photos of him for his birthday) and reunion fluff, one chapter for Ace, one chapter for Luffy
Wish by spirit and if yes by midnightluck LOOK I TOLD YOU THEYRE REALLY GOOD AND I LIKE THIS ONE EVEN MORE THAN THE LAST!! it's an au where the RA send someone to keep in touch with the whiteboards every now and again, and now it's sabo's job! This fic has my favourite reunion of all time and I won't say anymore because if there's one fic on this list you should read it's this one - 32k
Twin flames by soccersarah01 , again, no idea if they have a tumblr
Ace calls sabo his twin while in impel down and this has .. consequences. Reunion! Gol D Sabo! Fucking with the government! What more could you ask for in a fic! 66.666k
Speak up boys! By @plantwithoutplot , a solid contender for just being one of my favourite fics ever, it's currently sitting at about 69k (nice) and chapter 9/31 and look I know it's incomplete but it's SO GOOD
it's a time travel au, where the asl bros end up on Gol D Roger's ship. Ace is trying to commit patricide, Sabo is trying to be the reasonable one and Luffy is... Luffy. Everybody is having a rough time of it and auuugggg the angst of being reunited but knowing you have changed so much and what if you don't know them anymore and what if you are no longer the person they loved and AHHHH go read it!! Read it now!!!
Chasing the remnants by @29rynoah sabo goes with dragon to loguetown! This one moves a little slower than the others in terms of how long it takes for the characters to actually be reunited, but the writing is really good!! The payoff when they finally get to see each other again? The character work? Incredible, 40k and I know I said it moves slower but when I was reading it I swear it only felt like 10k

Body swap! ASL can have a little body swap, as a treat! I'm sure nothing will go wrong! 13k
Part 2: Lawlu!
Okay, I know I'm a big proponent of platonic lawlu and I cannot see Luffy in any kind of romantic relationship I really can't- however some people are writing really good lawlu and I am a little bit closing my eyes and saying yes it is queerplatonic. To me.
I Love Luffy by missdreamgirl32 you know what I just want to steal one of their tags to sell this to you: Law tries to play three-dimensional chess against two guys playing go fish and loses
The character dynamics in this are so fucking good, I'm also actually just going to steal the summary right from the work because I get way to lost trying to explain everything else which is cool about this fic if I try to synopsise it:
After hearing Luffy off-handedly mention he has a boyfriend, and worried there might be some misunderstanding, Ace and Sabo decide to track the guy down and invite him out to dinner
Anyway it's really fucking good check it out it's only 10k I have read it... Many times (could be read as romantic, I do not)
The mysterious Torao by spooky_vallimo
This one is romantic but it's so fucking funny, spare 3k words worth of time to read this drabble, au where Luffy and Trafalgar met as kids, if you enjoy it there are some more works in the series
Come to sea with me, where we can be free by siojo
This is the only au that's set in a completely different world on this list, I guess I love Luffy is a different world but it's not fantasy different, its more a modern au
Anyway siren AU!
this one is again, a lil different to the others on the list, which are largely character studies
This one is on the list because I'm a little obsessed with the story aside from one piece characters? It's just really well written and has interesting lore and world building
It's also kind of a sad/bittersweet fic, and some of the characters do eat humans (because siren) so yeah, this one has a different vibe to the other fics on this list but it occupies a certain space in my brain, only 8k
Part 3: Miscellaneous!
This is ASL stuff that isn't necessarily early reunion, or is only about one or two of them
The world doesn't deserve you by dezace
Okay so what if I told you there is an au where asl brothers are pirates together as children? And that it was 47k and had other works in the same universe?
Great, you're on board? Now, this is the only fic on this list to have made me cry
It is HEAVY ANGST and Spooner I know I'm making this list for you but it will HURT YOU and you may not want to read it, the ASL bros may be alive but they were the only survivors after a buster call was made on goa, and everyone else on the island died, and everyone believes the trio to be dead for a very long time
But if you do decide to read this fic which will hurt you, the emotional catharsis at the end is REALLY GOOD!! and there are many more short stories in the universe!!
But if this all seems a bit too ouch, the this author has a different, more light hearted series: Luffy was raised as a marine and makes it everyone's problem, which is a fun good time where Luffy knows marine codes and uses them to save ace, among other things

On brotherhood by @ladycrimsonandblack
This is a lovely little fic where Luffy is the elder brother, just over 4k
There's this very specific fic niche where Luffy is older and he meets up with Ace while Ace is unwillingly being recruited onto the whiteboards and I just love it, this is the second one I've read and now I'm going to see if I can track down the other

Anyway yeah this is a very specific genre of fic, but it turns out I'm very fond of it

Have something short fun and fluffy! In this fic Haruta of the whitebeards thinks Ace is a marine spy, but that's fine they're going to keep him anyway! 6.5k, one of my faves
