HYDERABAD BAWARCHI INDIAN RESTAURANT
About Hyderabadi Bawarchi
The Hyderabadi biryani needs no real introduction. Biryani has been a part of Hyderabadi cuisine tradition for close to 400 years. It is the staple to the locals and the go-to dish for the tourists. Hyderabadi Biryani is characteristically distinct.
Our expert chef adds the right proportion of unique Indian spices to give the perfect aroma, taste and flavor that leaves our biryani with a distinguished appearance. We at Hyderabadi Bawarchi make sure the meat is tender and juicy with the rice stuffed in layers between the meat and spices and keep it on dum. Dum basically refers to letting the dish breathe in its own aroma or juices to make it more flavorful. Therefore large handis(cooking pots) are sealed with dough or cloth to trap the steam, which then cooks the meat or rice until tender. Rest assured you will have to taste it to believe it.

“What about ordinary and poor Muslims like me? We never had any jagir or any piece of land or even enough bread to survive the day. I know hundreds and thousands of Muslim families living in utter poverty. The ashraf and nawabi families – both from Muslims and Hindus as well – never cared for our daily basic needs of food, water, or housing.”
Jeelani Bano and Dasarathi Rangacharya also brought out the contradictions apparent throughout pre-1948 Hyderabad. Bano’s novel Aiwan-e-Ghazal features a set of Muslim women characters from various strata of Asaf Jahi Hyderabad navigating both the zenana of the patriarchal nobility and the forests that served as the battlefields against the princely state’s rural gentry.
Nizam-ruled Hyderabad was a dominion where the feudal oppression of women and the exploitation of lower castes were woven within its pluralistic fabric.

Depends on how you define ''caricature-y''. Personally I don't know where to draw the line between a caricature-y accent and a real one, but only because I just. Can't change my accent. Side-effect is that I get clowned on for sounding painfully whitewashed. But that's an unrelated tangent.
That being said, I do sometimes get a similar feeling for other things besides accent? Sometimes one of those creators will portray some very stereotypical situations for laughs, and it just feels weird. Like, I know they're not white, and that they're the same culture as me, so perhaps I can't tell them what to do, but I still feel offended sometimes. Sure, some people use comedy and exaggeration to portray and deal with their experiences; but sometimes it feels like it crosses the line to just internal racism.
I guess that's why I eventually stopped tuning in to those who make that sort of content.
that's true! i do agree with you because it depends on the person obviously, but the creator i was talking about was definitely exaggerating it (at least i assume) since he was also throwing in plenty of other fairly stereotypical things. ive seen this a lot and never really bothered to say anything because like you said, it's also their culture but sometimes i feel like some (of course not all, and not always american either) indian-americans are a little too comfortable making fun of their own culture in harsh ways, and never really criticising anything that matters or doing anything back that doesn't benefit them directly.

Briyani rice recipe
There are many variations of briyani, but all versions include some combination of meat or vegetables, rice, and spices. Some recipes also call for saffron or nuts like pistachios or almonds. Briyani is usually served with raita (a yogurt-based dip) and chutney (a spicy condiment). Read more
