Basically iran is to MeNa the wine aunt no one likes but is still in the family because they've been around for too long

Saudi arabia is that one elder who thinks because he is older he should be treated with the uttermost respect

Israel is the distant relative everyone hate who doesnt get invited to family fest (he doesnt care anyway he's friend with the cool guys)

Morocco is the weird cousin no one understands

Palestine is the kid everyone wants to protect

Iraq is the cool cousin who was the child prodigy but some bad decisions and it went downhill

Turkey is the neighboor and family friend considered as part of the family because he's always here

I think nothing more insensitive than seeing Israels depicted as a good guy while we all know that Israeli government are sadistic playing victim blood money lover. Israel been bombing and killing civilians, hospitals, and many things in Gaza and they also demolished olive trees aka Palestine's source of income.

If they are "real citizen" Or natives, why would they bomb and destroy the environment?

Some of their citizens are so radicals too tbh, and so so in denial with their propaganda washed history and only take what support them and even making up lies.

I won't even treat Israel like a country, it is more like shame of humanity. I won't change my mind for fantasy reason. Evil is evil. It is a Zionist terrorist murderer and always been.

Besides if you look up the origins of the politicans, most of them came from white people of Europe and America, so Israel shouldn't be brown/dark/tanned. Which makes them very unnatural since they have to be arabic looking.

I hope israel will be punished with 30 days of earthquakes day and night and drought for 15 years. Amen.

(Oh I mean for current (fake) state of israel, kingdom of israel and such are ok).

This is what Biden is really doing behind the scenes, can’t exactly see why you Democrats aren’t willing to acknowledge him as the war seeker and anti-Palestine president he is. He literally has policies similar to Trump.

This is a good read and paints a picture of Biden as much softer on Israel than he should be (bringing up the fact that he has yet to move the embassy back to Tel Aviv), a criticism I wholeheartedly agree with but in focusing so much on his past it doesn’t really show how he’s evolved since then, it notes that he “failed” in preventing an anti-Israel measure under Obama, but doesn’t acknowledge that maybe he just relented. It paints a picture of Biden trying really hard to be friends with Bibi without acknowledging that Bibi does not reciprocate. It focuses on him trying to prevent conditional aid measures on Israel during the HW Bush administration but doesn’t mention the limited punitive measures he has taken (although those measures are a pittance compared to the amount of money he wants to send, I’ll admit)

And even with all that it still acknowledges that Biden can be and has been swayed by current events, and I think that should be the main takeaway, because his critics are right that he prioritizes Israel over Palestine but it’s also important to see that he has started pushing for Palestinian statehood in recent weeks, which is very clearly a change due to internal pressure in the administration and beyond.

#I would not call him ‘anti Palestine’ but he isn’t as pro Palestine as he should be

Nah I dont think zendaya is thinking that way. After an 11 hour flight, shes probably a mixture of being tired, stressed out with the brazil crowd, and seemed ready to leave after the panel. Also Zendaya is also friends with florence and austin not only timmy I mean she shouldnt have to talk to someone if she doesnt want to. 😭😭😭😭

Her image is fine like shes friends with sam levinson and that hasnt really negatively affected her image

Timmy is dealing with his own problems due to his own stupidity, I dont think its fair to rope zendaya into that. Zendaya is still loved despite her proximity to timothee.

Im sure zendaya and timmy are friends and cool with one another but the " best friendism soul matism" was mostly timdayas creating that narrative when in reality they just friends and developed a great bond while filming and from the looks of things she was acting the same at times in 2021 during the dune press tour so to me I didnt get the impression she was freezing out timmy.

(Side note: with regards to the SNL skit like maybe zendaya didnt like joke and maybe wasnt happy with timmy which could also be a possibility- who knows I aint zendaya I dont know how she thinks)

I was just saying that I know Z is pretty cautious when it comes to her image. She's the "Golden Child" remember lol? 😉

I mean, what's going on around the world with Palestine and Israel is pretty SERIOUS. And some people in HW are even losing their jobs due to their stance.

I saw your post about historical context for the ongoing crisis in Palestine/Israel, and I was wondering if you had any recommended reading for that stuff. It’s been obnoxiously difficult to find information about this topic.

hello, uh well depends what particularly you want to know about, there have been more books written about this than you can imagine.

I find that books about earlier parts of the history can be less partisan, once you get into the conflict from the late 80s on everyone has an axe to grind, thats true of earlier as well but when it comes to Israel vs Egypt its not likely they'll fight another war

any ways

1948: A History of the First Arab–Israeli War by Benny Morris is considered kinda the standard for books on the war of Israel's founding

Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East by Michael B. Oren is a great history of the Six Day War but also offers a lot of context and background into the first years of Israel and into the minds of leaders.

The Accidental Empire: Israel and the Birth of the Settlements, 1967-1977 by Gershom Gorenberg is a good picture into the early years of the occupation and the start of the settlement project.

Doomed to Succeed: The U.S.-Israel Relationship from Truman to Obama by Dennis Ross Ross was a leading diplomat on mid-East Peace under George HW Bush and Bill Clinton, so this has lots of insight

The Missing Peace: The Inside Story of the Fight for Middle East Peace by Dennis Ross this is Ross' incredibly detailed blow by blow of the the 1990s efforts to get to peace and what ultimately went wrong, however its AMAZINGLY dull, and I say that as someone who loves dull history books, Ross includes every meeting however unimportant every trip, every conversation its a slog, Doomed to Succeed is a MUCH more readable book that will give you some of the same information
