Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
2. I discover that Guardian is a good show while actively obsessing over The untamed and trying to find very Manga and novel related to it.
3. Liking the leads so much that I have to search other dramas fearuring the actors. Watching detective l and obsessing over Bai yu while finding nothing worthwhile for Zhu yilong
4. Finding about Reunion : The sound of the Providence
l really don’t know whether to cry about wu xie’s face or laugh at this whole thing and esp xiao bai being like “what kind of sorcery is this? he never ever listens” lmao

At the end of the series (S2, EP30, 26 minute-ish), Huo Daofu brings his resume to a hospital in search for a position there. Let's look at the contents with a close eye hm?

Summary:
The day Huo Daofu signed on to Wushanju, Wu Xie served him Silver Needle tea from Fuding in the back kitchen.
it's bittersweet—i mean, it was time to be finished with it; i've been watching it literally over the course of the pandemic. but enough! all things must end, even the arduously dragged-out conclusion of a whacked-out chinese tomb raiding drama featuring poisonous gas, hordes of insects, zombies, hand crabs, flying carnivorous clams, and "coffin dew," which like all the rest of those things does not exist.
ruminations and pictures and spoilers behind the cut!
1. so why is this xie yuchen the most boring xie yuchen out of all of them? i don't even know this actor's name because i never bothered learning it. also when the hell did he become a doctor and do sketchy operations on people without anaesthesia? he's wearing pink, he's rich, he has the same name; but there the resemblance ends. this is not the xiao hua we know and love. where is my bitchy swishy opera-singing organized crime boss? no wonder there's no chemistry between him and xiazi; this guy barely has a pulse. sorry to this man. nice sweater, tho.
2. i was trying to prove that pangzi says "that's not your xiaoge" (which he doesn't, those are bad subtitles; he just says "that's not xiaoge") and instead captured this adorable picture of drunk bai haotian. xiao bai gets a bad rap—mao xiaotong is adorable and sweet and honestly kinda hot when she's not trapped in a bowl haircut and overalls. i appreciate that wu xie, busily dying of lungs, doesn't have time or patience to explain to her why he's not available, but zhu yilong plays it wisely straight down the middle, face impassive. ship it or don't, he seems to be saying; i don't care, it's not up to me anyway—the viewer can read it however they want. (but wu xie does manhandle her on more than one occasion and that's also kinda hot.)
3. admittedly liu sang is very very pretty but i still don't want him in my pingxie, like mint in my chocolate chip ice cream. no thank you please. i have always considered myself a multishipper, a live-and-let-live fan; but this fandom has taught me i'm monogamous and i guess there's nothing i can do about that. still. look at liu chang's beautiful features. he made me care about jinx beyond just his function as a whump magnet, and that's an achievement. someday maybe his ouxiang will give him the hug he deserves.
4. speaking of beautiful just look at these total idiots. i'm going to miss their stupid faces. xiaoge drinking water, so he can be sober enough to take his drunk husband home and put him to bed. wu xie so plastered that i have inadvertently captured the one (1) image of the most beautiful man in the world making a derp face.
BONUS: whatever this beautiful cranky bitchy "doctor" has going on. which definitely involves feelings he still has for wu xie, after what happened in germany. (you know what happened in germany.)
and that's it, that's a wrap. in the meantime zhu yilong has been in cannes being absolutely heart-stoppingly fucking divine, and i will bet you a hundred flying carnivorous clams that the next time he's there, his film will be in competition. the condé nast cover story didn't hurt. with each entrée he cements his reputation and, more importantly, protects himself from the increasingly nasty sweeps of china "cleaning up" c-ent. i honestly don't know what there is to clean up anymore; there's almost nothing left. immortality and the live-action of tgcf not being released; justice in the dark just abandoned not even halfway through. this doesn't end well.
at least as far as lost tomb goes, though, i've decided i'm proceeding backwards—so next i'm watching sand sea/sha hai, because i want to spend time with mob widow wu xie (qin hao has won me over via gifset) and ji chen's xiazi. until then, pouring one out for li jiale and chuchu. and wu erjing i guess. 干杯!

Summary:
Huo Daofu has been quite stressed since he agreed to look after Wushanju for Wu Xie. Kan Jian wants to help him relax and has the perfect way, but Huo Daofu doesn't accept his help right away.
A gift for @lungache because we have such a good time dunking on Huo Daofu and his questionable understatement of the year medical ethics and practices. Henceforth, Hippocrates will personally thrash Huo Daofu with a sandal.
Ehm.. the hilarity is that two episodes later the “pro on Zhang family” dude says that the marks Xiaoge left can be only read by Zhang family members, and we saw that even Pangzi doesn’t know the meanings of those. Wu Xie said that Xiaoge left those only for him. And like I know that everyone joked already about them being married and Wu Xie being a Zhang, not a Wu since Sand Sea. But like can we have an extra of the fucking wedding. But like there was a moment when Qiling taught him that. And there’s shitton of dots before the 3 1 5 dots, look at this stupid face.
feeling a bit guilty for this one but i’ll do my best to explain my feelings about it
objectively i do see the appeal in the sense i can understand why people would like the kind of dynamic they have going on, but personally speaking, i don’t see it because i just don’t like the ship very much for a number of reasons.
one of those reasons is purely because of the fandom. and not to say people liking huo daofu/wu xie is a bad thing because it’s not, if you like it more power to you! it’s more a question of my personal preferences clashing with seeing it talked about a lot in conjunction with the sometimes pervasive fanon opinion in some spaces that wu xie and huo daofu were exes that i don’t really like or agree with. so it’s essentially that it’s been put in my face too much against my will for me to stay neutral about it and it’s shifted into dislike. it’s unfortunate but it happens
as far as my opinion about it beyond that, for the sake of fairness, it’s not entirely uninteresting and does have some material to work with, but in my opinion you have to be specifically talking about reboot drama canon for it to be a possibility at all. huo daofu isn’t in the books at all really apart from a short bit in sand sea, that the sand sea drama expands on to be fair, but even in that there’s nothing that suggests he knows wu xie personally, and some things stated in it about him directly contradict other things said in the reboot drama. which i know is something some people don’t care about, which is fair, to each their own, i just personally prefer canon coherence and divisions. if we’re strictly talking about reboot drama canon though, yes there’s something to work with, mostly coming from huo daofu’s end who seems to be stuck in an endless one-sided push and pull with wu xie for reasons that are never really discussed, but you can speculate. i know a popular fanon theory is that they met and dated while studying abroad in germany (which is another thing i fundamentally disagree with in that wu xie going to university in germany is strictly a lost tomb 1 thing, where he studied stays a mystery in pretty much all the other dramas, and in the books he went to zhejiang university in hangzhou, but again this is another debate that not everyone cares for), but you could also speculate that they don’t necessarily know each other, and that the resentment coming from huo daofu is tied to wu xie’s sand sea plan depriving him of taking over the huo family assets, and thar over the course of reboot he comes to know wu xie and grows fond of him despite himself
and there is tension in the sense their relationship in general, independently of whether you ship it or not, is fraught with animosity, although it’s animosty tinged with begrudging fondness and care, and the dynamic going on borders on divorced for (redacted) reasons in some ways so people aren’t wrong there, but another reason i don’t really see it is that i tend to view their relationship as heavily one-sided. keep in mind this is just my interpretation and not fact, but while i can understand seeing interest from huo daofu’s end, i really don’t see any coming from wu xie towards him, either in a romantic or sxual sense. his priorities very clearly lie elsewhere and with other people throughout the entirety of the drama, and while he absolutely does view huo daofu as one of his people and cares about him in that capacity, i don’t really see anything further coming from him. in that sense, huo daofu deserves better than an unrequited interest, and in general both of them deserve better than each other, mostly because neither of them could give the other what they need, not really. but again, this is just my take on it
i wish i had more positive things to say, i just really dislike this as a ship unfortunately :(
