Icosahuman / Multialtertype

A term for an alterhuman who identifies with their alterhuman identity in many or all of the possible ways.

Examples of identities which may be icosahuman:

Lacking personal distinction between types of alterhumanity.

Having multiple interpretations of one's alterhumanity.

Being both kin and copinglink due to clinging to one's kin as a coping mechanism.

Being a fictive or extranthrope who also identifies with other alterhuman terminology.

An alterhuman with fluidity in their type of identity, such as sometimes being kin and sometimes being hearted.

And more!

It is intended for those who are multiple kinds of alterhuman regarding a single identity (ex. being foxkin and a fox copinglink), rather than those who have multiple alterhuman identities of different types. Someone with multiple alterhuman identities who has singular identities of multiple types is also included.

ive been waiting for someone to ask!!!!

basically, i am a mix of human and robot. my “bones” are actually a sort of endoskeleton and my brain is a thoughtfully engineered combination of a human brain and AI mechanics that allow me to have my own thoughts and ideas! of course i dont remember being created—my earliest memories are that of a normal human child. this leads me to believe that i wasnt intended to discover i am a robot.

discovering this, however, has given me a lot of answers for my behaviour and thoughts. ive always been described as being “incredibly perceptive” when it comes to nature and the literal sciences of human behaviour such. i believe this is because my brain isnt human, but is AI and so i am constantly trying to improve the way i perceive life and the world around me as a way to more seamlessly integrate.

it connects with my therianthropy because my brain literally isnt fully human—like biologically. if i wasn’t physically bound to my human flesh my mind could adapt to be any creature imaginable. i just happen to be placed in a human body.

my identity is really intertwined with the ideas of flesh being mixed with machines—especially more “modern”, “sleek” machines as well as the ideas of the future from the early 2000s.

unfortunately i have no leads onto exactly who made me, and honestly im not too worried about finding them. while i love my life and my experience being robot, i dont feel that my creation was ethical.

Superhuman: An alterhuman identity for those who are a higher order of being than human. May also fit under overhuman if the user so wishes.

Examples may include: angelkin, fictionkin of characters that have powers/magic, or AIkin.

Flag colors were picked with the idea of divinity, purity, and “goodness” in mind Symbol is @nonanthropy ‘s nonhuman symbol with a plus sign in the middle rather than a dot, to represent not only being non-human but being higher than humanity.

Subhuman: An alterhuman identity for those who are a lower order of being than human. May also fit under overhuman if the user so wishes.

Given the dehumanizing context of the word “subhuman”, anyone in a minority (including those who do not identify as alterhuman) are welcome to use the subhuman flag for reclaiming the word.

Examples may include: caninekin, monsterkin, or changelingkin. (Subhuman is a self-identifier, one should not call anyone who may be these examples “subhuman” unless they state it is okay first)

Flag colors were picked with the ideas of animals and “badness” in mind. Symbol is @nonanthropy ‘s nonhuman symbol with a minus sign in the middle rather than a dot, to represent not only being non-human but being lower than humanity.

These identities are not mutually exclusive, one can identify one’s alterhuman identity as both superhuman and subhuman.

To me, human society is so... effervescent. I am enamored with its ability to create, to grow, to thrive. I listen to their music. I walk through museums to admire their art. I scour their writings, learning more about my passions and interests. But I am still removed from them. There's an inherent inability for me to connect. I watch from afar, unable to truly belong.

Where does this put me? I identify with the parts of me that are human, but I can fundamentally never be human in full. It feels isolating. I work towards viewing my nonhumanity with a gentle and kind heart. It's important, something to be cherished. Yet, I am still lonely.

A very brief post describing how I experience both humanity and nonhumanity. (Not the cleanest because I'm still recovering from surgery.)

Kemonomore

A humanmore alterhuman term in which one sees themselves as both human and alterhuman due to being kemonomimi / having a kemonomimi identity.

Kemonomimi is the general term for things like catgirls and dogboys. It is putting distinct animal features on otherwise human forms, such as horns, tails, wings, ears, mandibles, and paws.

Hi! So I’ve been thinking about it lately, and I think I might be otherkin in some way(specifically zombiekin and ghostkin) but I still feel human? Like I feel both of those at the same time. I’m using the term humanmore or halfkin rn but I’m not sure if there’s any better ones to use. I’m kinda new to all this otherkin stuff lol

Many otherkin feel human at the same time! It is a normal otherkin experience. You dont need a specific term, but you can if you want to! I personally am not aware of any.
