so i (14 F? currently going through an unrelated gender crisis) have been regularly horseback riding since i was 9 and have a regular instructor i really like we'll call R (30s or 40s, F). Today, however, R was out sick and so i was with the barn owner, who we'll call L (60s, F).
i was originally really excited about this, as L is a very good rider. however, i quickly realized that she almost exclusively taught beginner riders under the age of 8. as previously stated, i have been riding for 5 years and would consider myself a pretty good rider.
L proceeded to get my name wrong (i have a fairly common white name starting with s, which she was confusing for fucking Sarah, despite the names looking and sounding nothing alike), though in fairness i was too scared to correct her. she completely undermined my experience and knowledge of the subject, and there were a good twenty minutes when i thought we were just gonna be doing 20 meter trot circles the whole time. thank god for the last half of the lesson L would occasionally let me canter a few circles. even the small form reminders that are to be expected were annoying. where R and other previous instructors had said them almost as background noise, L said it like it was a revelation i'd never heard of before.
do you know the shit socrates said about like giving a student the knowledge to reach the conclusion rather than just the conclusion? what he overlooked is that you can absolutely overuse it. it's hard to explain through the medium of an aita post how frustrating it feels to have someone look at you and see you how they did 5 years ago, look at you and not see the sweat and tears and hours of perfecting your form. and i know that my emotional regulation isn't very well developed, and i know i'm 14 and my hormones are out of wack and i know she doesn't mean anything by it and i know it's not her fault but it's just so fucking aggravating.
almost the entire lesson i was very curt and rude with L, despite the fact that im usually a very cheerful person. she definitely noticed, but didn't bring it up. i tend to freeze up at confrontation, so im not sure what i would've done if she did. i was also much harsher than i needed to be on my horse, which isn't fair because she didn't do anything wrong. i kicked her harder than necessary, jerked her reins, leaned to the inside, and was all around not a very good rider. when my mom picked me up (i am, again, 14 and do not have a driver's license) i slammed to door to the car. when i started crying and she asked me what was wrong, i told her multiple times to "shut the fuck up" and "every word that comes put of your mouth makes me want to punch you in the face", which i now feel awful about. i kept bursting into the tears in the shower so it took me an hour and a half to wash myself, putting our water bill through the roof.
tldr: an instructor treated me as though i was a child, i overreacted and was very rude to everyone around me, i feel utterly horrible about it now. AITA?
What are these acronyms?

“Well howdy there stranger.”
It’s the brunette from the night before. His hands are shoved in his jean pockets, a navy blue t-shirt hugging his biceps. You’d never admit it, but the Navy did wonderful things for man’s body. It seems like Jake’s wrangled the boy into wearing a pair of boots, although you’re not sure if you want to know how.
He turns, a smile growing on his face at the sight of you.
“Decide to become a ranch hand now, did ya?” You ask, walking towards him. He’s standing near one of the horses, a black beauty that’s a Friesian breed. He chuckles nervously.
“Nah, Hangman just got caught up talking to Tyler and I got bored so I wandered over here...” He trails off nervously, looking around the stables. You laugh at his nervousness.
Hangman, you mouth to yourself and then shake your head. “Oh, right. Jake. You pilots and your funny nicknames. You got one of ‘em?”
“Rooster. My callsign is Rooster.”
You give a coy smile, stepping closer. “And where does that come from?”
He smirks. “Guess.”
You take one last step closer to him, grabbing his belt loops and closing the distance. “Well, I don’t know, I say I could guess...”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah. Say, we got roosters here. I know what they’re known for.” He raises an eyebrow. “Being an early riser of course, must be where your name comes from.” He lets out a laugh, ducking his head and you let his belt loops go, stepping back as you smile. “Say, you ride?” He chokes on his laughter. “Horses. You ride horses?” He shakes his head. “Well, tell ya what, a good place to start is to stay away from Jake’s horse. She’s a beauty, named Dahlia, but she’s tough to ride, especially for a beginner.” He nods, looking back to the horse.
“You ride her?” You give a half-shrug.
“Sometimes. One of our stable hands, Lucas, rides her more than I do. C’mon, you should meet Duchess. She’s very friendly.” You led him to the opposite end of the stalls, grabbing a saddle and reigns along the way, unlocking the door to the chestnut.
“She’s gorgeous.” He comments as he follows you into the stall, looking up at the horse in kid-like wonder. You smile softly.
“Horses are wonderful creatures.” You whisper and he looks over at you as toss the saddle over the side, securing it to her and then moving to slip the bridle in Duchess’s mouth, slipping the reigns over her head. Once everything is secure, you hand the reigns to Bradley and push the stall door over. He seems to be warming up to her and he pauses, waiting for you as you lock the door again and grab a helmet from one of the nails on the wall. You shove it at his chest as you move to leave the stalls.
“Wha- I’m not wearing this!” He exclaims and you turn.
“It’s a requirement for all beginning riders.”
“You don’t!”
You sigh, crossing your arms. “I’ve been riding since I was like 6 or 7. Since I was big enough to get on the horse. No helmet, no riding.” He sighs, looking down at the horse and then back to you. “Here, why don’t I...” You stride towards him, taking the helmet out of his hands and placing it on his head. You buckle it and adjust his strap, trying not to let your hands linger on his face for longer than necessary. “Feel comfortable? Secure?” He nods, cheeks tinting pink. You pat his cheek, smiling at him. “There we go. Let’s get you on the horse and then I’ll grab Athena.”
“Who’s Athena?”
“She’s my horse, a Lippizan breed. Mom started a tradition of naming our horses after figures from greek myths. My brother and I had horses from the same Mom, named after Apollo and Artemis. Gorgeous things. But they got old and passed on, so we got new ones. He broke the tradition, I kept it. It was a huge fight when we were teens.” He chuckles as he follows you out of the stable. There’s a spare stool sitting around, one Lucas probably forgot to put away, and so you grab it as he pauses, watching you.
“Okay, so to get in your saddle, you’re gonna grab the reigns like so,” demonstrating to him how to hold them, “and then hook your foot into the stirrup, and lift yourself up, and swing your leg over. It’s a lot harder then it looks so if you don’t get it in the first go, that’s okay.” He nods and you step back, letting him attempt to so. To be expected, he slips and huffs in frustration. “Told you it’s difficult. We have stools if you really can’t get it.”
“I think I can get on a horse.” He tries again and is this successful this time. Duchess takes a few steps forwards at the movement and he immediately blanches, knuckles tightening on the reigns.
“You good?” He nods nervously. “Alright, I’m gonna grab Athena, I won’t be more than just a few minutes and I’ll stay within earshot. Holler if there’s a problem.” You probably shouldn’t have left him alone, but Duchess was one of your best horses and was great with beginner riders. You jog back inside, unlocking Athena’s stall and get her saddle and reigns set up. Doing so is second nature for you and within. few minutes you’re leading her back outside to where Bradley’s sat nervously. You easily climb up with an ease that comes with years of practice and look over to him.
After walking him through the basics, the two of you slowly make your way towards the grounds where the rest of their group is gathered. “Fucking finally.” Jake calls. “Wondering where you were.” You roll your eyes as the two of you pull the horses to a stop. Jake’s sat on Dahlia, meaning he must’ve gone and left through the opposite entrance of the stables.
One of the pilots snorts at Bradley. “Yo, Rooster, what’s with the helmet?”
He blushes, looking away. “Shut it Payback.”
“No helmet, no riding.” You and Jake say, almost in near unison and then look at each other in surprise. The pilot, Payback, snorts and then his face falls, realizing you’re serious.
“Wait, what?”
You and Jake nod. He splutters. “But Hangman, you don’t!”
Jake gives a half-shrug, tipping his cowboy hat. “I’ve been riding since I was a teeny tot, I’m comfortable enough not to. But for beginners, you have to.”
He groans. “Man, forget that, I’m not riding.”
You snort. “Y’all will really not ride just because of the helmet requirement?” The pilots look amongst themselves. “Okay, so who is riding?” One of the female pilots, along with a gangly man with glasses raises his hands. Another one of the pilots also volunteers, someone you’d seen hanging around near Jake. “Alright, well the rest of you can stay here and hang out with the ranch hands then. Miss out on the ride.” Tyler approaches the group with two different horses, Madison behind him with two more. You look to Jake. “You gonna help me teach your friends or are you just going to sit there?”
“I don’t know, I think I look pretty good up here.” You roll your eyes and sigh, offering your reigns to Jake who takes them as you slip off Athena.
Walking the pilots through getting on the horses, the man with glasses pulls himself over with ease. “I’m impressed.” You remark as you move toward the female pilot. “Beat Bradley over here.” He snickers, adjusting his helmet, as you catch Bradley’s blush.
“Gonna tell Maverick you fell for the first pretty girl you met.” One of the pilot’s joke.
“Shut up Fanboy. I can’t help that I have a weakness for a women with a good red lip.” You smile and duck your head, remembering how you had chosen to wear the red lipstick this morning. You didn’t normally, but the ride today would be easy and it matched your shirt and yeah, okay, maybe you wanted to impress the pilot from last night should you see him.
You hadn’t anticipated being the one to lead the ride but Emma had texted you this morning and asked if you would do it since her and Lucas had gone out this morning and set everything up.
Jake clears his throat, shooting a look at Bradley.
“Someone make sure they’re getting a picture of this and sending it to Ice and Mav. They need to see Rooster on a horse, helmet and all.” The female pilot next to you says, snickering. Payback whips out his phone as Rooster groans.
“Who’s Mav and Ice?” You ask.
“My godfather and his- er-” Bradley pauses, looking to Jake.
“His husband.” Jake says in an ambivalent tone and you make a face.
“Why did you say it like that? I’m from Texas, not Mars. I’ve met gay people.” You say, shooting him a look. “In fact, Riley and Lucas have been dating for years now, but you wouldn’t know that because you don’t live here anymore. Decided the Navy was better.” He scoffs and opens his mouth to say something but you turn to the female pilot. “You want help?” She watches the exchange carefully and then shrugs, looking at her horse.
“Maybe a boost. Not too proud to admit I might be a tad bit too short to pull myself over like Bob.”
“And you’re...?”
“Phoenix.”
You nod as she hooks her foot into he stirrup. “Ah right, one half of the engaged couple. Congrats, by the way.” You say as you help her over. She smiles down at you.
“Thanks.” You turn to the last pilot, who’s smirking at you.
“I need the pretty cowgirl to help me too.” He says, giving you an innocuous smile, and you raise an eyebrow, settling your hands on your hip as Tyler snickers.
“Coyote.” Jake barks, but you don’t turn, keeping a careful eye on the pilot.
“Let’s see you try first.” He does, and pulls himself over on the third go. You roll your eyes as you walk back over to Athena, grabbing the reigns from Jake and climbing back on Athena. Tyler walks over offering you a hat and a walkie talkie. Madison tosses one to Jake too and he catches it with an ease you wouldn’t expect him to still have.
“Here, you both should have one, just in case.” You nod, clipping the walkie talkie to one of your belt loops on the side of your hip.
“Hey, tell Lucas and Emma I said thank you for setting up because asshat over here won’t.” You jerk your head back to Jake, who’s talking to Madison. He nods.
“Will do. Play nice will ya?”
You tilt your head. “I’ll think about it.” You pause, pretending to think the words over. “Thought about it. No.” Tyler sighs, crossing his arms. “Don’t give me that look Ty, you know better than anyone how I’m feeling right now. Fucking awful of him to show back up after all this time and put his friends in the middle of it.”
“Look, it’s not that I think you’re wrong, but if you’re gonna go after him, just don’t do it front of his friends. Don’t ruin their engagement trip.” He says, nodding his head specifically to Phoenix and Bob. You look to them and it’s the first time you realize that the four pilots have been listening to your conversation. You sigh, nodding. You put the cowboy hat on your head, it sitting easily with the two braids falling over your shoulder. You look around the group. “Alright, everyone ready?” They nod and Jake breaks away from his conversation with Madison. “Let’s ride.”
-
The ride had been one of your favorites, easy with nice weather. The pilots were wonderful to talk to and kept you laughing the whole way out to the house. After a quick lunch, the group was sat on the couch and around it, enjoying the conversation and each other’s presence. You were sat on the couch next to Bradley, his arm resting around your shoulders. Coyote was on the other side of him, with Bob sitting opposite you in the arm chair.  Phoenix was rested up against his knee and Jake sat next to them in one of the chairs that had been dragged over from the table. Your eyes wander around the small house, taking in the furniture and decorations. You hadn’t been out here since your Mom died, and you swallowed as you took in the way it still felt like she was here with you. You briefly met Jake’s eye and he looks away. You know he’s feeling the same.
It’s a movement that doesn’t go unnoticed by Bradley.
He turns to you, leans over closer to you to say something in your ear as Coyote regales his friends with a story, when you hear the walkie talkie go off. You hold up a finger to Bradley, passing his thought, as both you and Jake’s head turn towards the noise and you stand up, walking towards the table where yours is resting. You lean up against it as you hear Jake’s boots on the floor behind you. The conversation between the pilots tapers off as they all turn to watch the pair of you. Jake takes pause in front of you, crossing his arms as you raise the device to your mouth.
“Hey, say that one more time, didn’t catch it.”
“Hey, did the two of you know there’s a storm rolling in?”
Jake leans to look outside the window and lets out a low whistle. “We do now.” He mutters.
“Do you think we have time to make it back or should we wait it out?”
There’s a pause as you wait for Tyler to respond. “If you guys left right now, I think you could make it back.”
“Okay, give us just a minute.” You look to Jake. “What do you want to do?” You whisper. You don’t want to freak his friends out and while you and your brother could handle riding in a storm, you were worried about his inexperienced friends.
“If Tyler thinks we can make it back, I say we go. I worry about the horses spooking this far out.” You nod as Jake turns to his friends, explaining the situation to them.
“Okay Ty, we’re headed back. Stay on the radio, will you? Let me know for things change and we’ll adjust accordingly?”
“Of course. Hop on the radio if there’s trouble, we’re all getting things squared away here and then we’ll be in the house. One of us should be able to come out if something happens.”
“Will do. See you soon.” You move to put the walkie talkie back on your waist as you look up to see the pilots ready to go. Grabbing your hat from the table, you settled it on your head and move to the front door. “Alright, let’s get this show on the road.”
-
You were almost there. You could see the stables, they were within sight. You almost felt relief because the storm had rolled in fast and the wind was picking up. Athena was getting nervous and you were really starting to get worried about her spooking. Jake was leading the group as you had fallen to the back, worried about her and not wanting to risk hurting one of the other horses or pilots if she did spook. A strong gust of pushed the two of you forward and you tightened your grip on the reigns.
“Whoa girl.” You whisper as Jake looks back at you, letting the rest of the group pass him, headed towards the stables. He shouts something but you can’t hear it, focused in on Athena, winding rushing around you. You bit your lip, debating on bailing when Athena makes the choice for you.
A clap of thunder sounds overhead and both you and Jake look up, watching the lightening streak across the sky. It’d be impressive, if Athena didn’t startle, take a jump to the side, bucking you off of her.
The reigns fall from your hands as you slip from the saddle, crashing to the ground. You can hear Athena take off as you watch the lightning create an impressive streak of white-blue, black spots flickering at the ends of your vision.

MY AVIATION ORIGIN STORY
Basically, and I’m not exaggerating, I randomly decided to make a sad-excuse for a helicopter as a part of our wood shop unit in middle school. I genuinely do not know why I chose a helicopter, there is no reason for me to have chosen a helicopter lol. My wood shop teacher is like “I’m actually very intrigued on why you picked a helicopter like what made you pick it? I’m impressed!” And I literally had not answer for him.
My interest was solidified when I went to EAA AirVenture. Watching the F-22 Raptor fly was and always will be breathtaking to me. That demo gave me the love for military aviation and especially fighters that I have today.

hello!! im planning on visiting with my family, anything you recommend we do while we are there??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m so glad you asked! We have loads of activities suitable for families! Here are my top 5:
1. Scavenger Hunt
On the vast majority of our family trails, we have free scavenger hunt kits. These come with a checklist, and a pencil. As you walk the trail there will be numerous wooden animal sculptures, (I won’t spoil it!) but if you write down the first letter of each one, it spells out a word! Bring this piece of paper back to the ranger who gave it to you (typically me) and you’ll be given a special prize :)! (The prizes are suitable for any little ones! A forest colouring book and crayons, some plastic binoculars, a plastic gold medal, cardboard crown OR fox ear headband! All in a lightweight box) This is available on Friday to Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.
2. Go horseback riding (including Shetland ponies for kids)
Riverhead has a cheap horse riding activity available with 3 different skill sets including a beginner set (most suitable for people with little to no riding experience and children.) This experience takes you down a beautiful, flat ground but natural trail, with incredible sight seeing opportunities along the way. This is available on weekends from 3pm to 5pm.
3. Camping
Our camping areas are booking only, but the site comes with three outdoor showers and three bathrooms, there should be a stall ran by one of my coworkers that sells cutlery and dishes, disposable safe bbq’s, hot chocolate, marshmallows and blunt wooden skewers. This shop is open every day of the week including weekends from 1-3:30pm.
4. Stargazing
During certain times of year, it gets dark quite quickly. Every Thursday we open up our Stargazing gazebo. This is a wooden, heated gazebo with a glass ceiling and can house up to 36 people, rangers included. This gazebo is in a clearing near the entrance and is the best place to see constellations :)! As you watch, the rangers will bring round snacks and tell the family friendly versions of the stories behind the constellations. This runs from 6-7pm and is completely free, but a first come first serve basis, including seat booking.
5. Last but not least we have our hiker challenges!
These run everyday, including weekends. Scan the QR code at the beginning of the trail and it’ll start counting the miles :) if you complete the full hike you’ll be given a screen to fill in with your postal information and we will send out a real, metal medal with loads of intricate designs on them based on which hike you completed, this is completely free!

My partner and I are going on a cruise. We have a stop in Mexico and are participating in a beginners' horseback riding trail. He's never ridden a horse before. I grew up all around ranches in Texas and am very familiar (though not a pro by any means). Should I bring my Stetson? Or would that make me look like a poser with my blue-green hair?

JAAAAAMES 🎮 🎻 🔺️ 🐈 🥯 😊 😓 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
poster boy of the amount of time i spend rotating him in my mind to how long it's going to take us to get to this campaign ratio <3
🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?
he read a lot, he's very well read, both fiction and non-fiction. he also enjoys horseback riding, but he doesn't have the money or resources to keep up a stable, or even just One Horse at the moment. he does, however, lend a hand in the upkeep of his estates gardens and collects and pins insects he finds there. that's technically for but who cares.
🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?
i'll say he can play piano and the violin, and he's better at the former.
🔺 RED TRIANGLE POINTED UP — does your oc know how to use any weapons?
he's a trained fencer and he knows how to use a gun from Rich People Hunting Trips, though he doesn't much care for either firearms or hunting.
🐈 CAT — does your oc prefer a wide circle of friends or a few close friends?
a few close friends. he prefers to keep a close circle of people he knows and trusts deeply and intimately, rather than be vaguely liked by a lot of people.
🥯 BAGEL — what does your oc's typical breakfast look like? do they usually eat breakfast?
eggs, bacon or sausage, toast with jam, and tea. fantasy british mfer.
😊 SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES — what are your oc's career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?
he desperately wants to preserve his family line, and to save his estate. it's all he has left of family, or even himself really. he really wants to marry for love and not just for money or the promise of a legacy carried on, but he doesn't want to fail either. or end up alone, for that matter. :(
😥 SAD BUT RELIEVED FACE — is your oc prone to getting stressed out, or is it easy for them to keep their cool?
oh he's so stressed out all the time it's unreal. he's pretty good at keeping that under the surface but he naturally feels things very deeply and sometimes his emotions get the better of him.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc's immediate family? how many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?
james markheim: notable orphan. he's an only child, he doesn't really have any extended family, and his parents are notably dead as hell. he was very close with both of his parents and hasn't really been the same since, even though at the time of the campaign it's been 13 since they passed. they left some pretty big shoes to fill, and bigger bills to pay.

4 Different Horse Riding Mistakes (And How To Avoid Them)
Are you looking to become a stronger horse rider?
Horse riding brings a range of health benefits or Benefits Of Horseback Riding
But just as with a lot of other things in life, riding a horse is not as easy as it may look.
There are plenty of newcomer mistakes that will not only make you stand out as a novice but may also keep you from being able to handle your horse and ride safely.
If you want to improve your skills and become a more confident and capable rider, here are 4 common mistakes (and how you can avoid them).
Ready to start riding? Check out your very own premium Beginner’s Horse Riding Pack!
Mistake #1 - You’re Holding On Too Tight
Mistake: One of the most common rookie mistakes is holding onto your horse too tight.
Your horse is almost always going to attempt to go faster than you might want to. Therefore, no matter how much you attempt to hold your horse back, you can expect him to speed away. After all, the horse’s head is held up high and its mouth is typically open which can keep him in a non-relaxed state.
How to avoid it: While it might seem like something you shouldn’t do as a newcomer, you want to loosen the grip in order to allow your horse to get in a much more relaxed riding position.
This will allow your horse to lower its head which can keep the horse from speeding off.
The reins are designed to be an effective two-way communication device that you use to guide your horse. It is not intended to act as a manual brake. You should look to ask your riding instructor and/or trainer how to effectively cue your horse with the reins and release the pressure properly.
Mistake #2 - You Have Poor Posture
Mistake: Having poor posture is something that we know is important but we rarely do anything about it.
Good posture is very important for horseback riding. You should be looking to sit up in the chair with your legs forward and without slouching. You shouldn’t engage too hard with your stirrups. Instead, you want to keep them fully relaxed next to your horse.
How to avoid it: To ride perfectly balanced, you will want to keep your body’s center of mass in line.
Keeping everything including your shoulders and hips facing forward and in an upright and vertical position for the best balance while riding.
You can hack this type of position by rolling your pelvis in a forward motion in order to keep your legs much further apart than you might otherwise be able to. You can then breathe in deeply and allow your lower back to relax and allow your legs to effectively be positioned to the sides of your horse.
Mistake #3 - Your Horse Isn’t Still During The Mount
Mistake: When you are looking to mount your horse, you want to avoid hopping alongside the side of your horse with only one foot in your horse’s stirrup.
This is dangerous and shouldn’t be attempted while your horse is moving. The overall way you end up mounting your horse will dictate the tone and your relationship with the horse itself. Therefore, you want to ensure that you are doing it properly.
A lot of horses might be testing you during this mounting process to determine how it should behave. Another reason might be simply due to the horse having a lack of training. Regardless, you need to mount the horse properly prior to beginning the riding session.
It’s important to note that you might be causing the issue with the mounting process on your own.
How to avoid it: When mounting, you should look to implement one of the techniques that work best for you.
One option would be to simply bring the horse’s head toward you as you mount which can make it much harder for the horse to move around.
Another option would be to keep the rein relaxed and to hold the horse in place with the other rein (located outside).
Others might even keep the reins completely relaxed and verbally command their horse to remain in a set position.
You always want to ensure that your horse remains in a steady position even after being mounted to reinforce the fact that they are not to move until given the ‘OK.
Mistake #4 - You’re Not Paying Attention
Mistake: Even those that are considered experienced riders might fail to pay attention at all times.
When you are beginning to learn how to ride, there is a lot going on and a lot that you have to remember. However, one thing that you should always have in the forefront of your mind is that you should keep your head in a forward position and always look where you are going.
How to avoid it: Always look where you are trying to go.
Believe it or not, your horse is able to dictate where they are supposed to go by simply following the cues that come from your body and head positioning. Not only that, but it will keep you much more balanced and it can help you enjoy the ride much more.
Avoid making these 4 common mistakes and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a stronger rider.

how to read cards with a career aspect/view! - ravynstarot
i get many asks and dms wondering “what am i good at career wise?” “what career should i pursue?”. if you have read my other post on “how to approach the cards” (link below) then you know that tarot cards do not have one set meaning. taking into account the question, the person, the timing, etc…. let’s talk ab the cards and how to read them with a view of career.
check my pinned post for more!! free readings are open :)
reminder: this is for entertainment and educational purposes. tarot is not a fortune teller, but is used for guidance and advice. also, my work is my own- unless specified otherwise. for example, other than my own intuition, i do get help when needed using guidebooks. for this cheat sheet in particular- i use the guidebook from “tattoo tarot, ink and intuition” tarot deck.
understanding the cards to begin with:
the cards have energy and vibes to them. while i say they don’t have one set meaning, they sort of do? they have a vibe to them, that helps portray the message they want to get across. it is up to the reader to understand and lay out the message. as a reader, ALWAYS keep in mind these main things-
1. what was the question?
2. who am i reading for?
3. what does the imagery say?
if you always keep these in mind and follow your intuition!
REMINDER:
the cards are so versatile, it’s important to keep in mind this is my PERSONAL take on the cards. take inspiration (or follow exactly), but find what suits you and what you believe!!!!!
HOW I APPROACH CARDS:
before anything - always take into account the name of the card. sometimes it says more than you may believe. also, i never look for career names straight away, i look at traits you may have that can build onto a career. that is why i put traits and things you’re good at mostly in the cheat sheet below! enjoy :)

💤🐷🎻 for the silliest goobers (Roya, Yuuta, and Victoria)
Hope it’s not too much pookie!
Don't worry, Ellis! This ain't too much at all 😈

▹ †𝆤࿙๋࿙࿚⊱♚⊰࿙࿚๋࿚𝆤† Roya Callistis, the fallen prince
💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?
↳ Probably a light sleeper, if I'm being honest. Being a prince and all, assassination attempts are bound to happen at some point, so Roya has to keep his guard up - even when he's fast asleep.
↳ His sleeping habits are normal enough. I can also see him having a decent sleep schedule, too.
🐷 PIG FACE — what is your oc's favorite animal?
↳ He's a horse girl /j IM KIDDING IM KIDJSKSJR
↳ But given that he really likes horseback riding/derby racing, he definitely at least has a fondness for horses
🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?
↳ Hmmm, due to how he was raised, I'd say Roya knows how to play a variety of instruments! Probably not a virtuoso at them, but he definitely knows how to play!

▹ †𝆤࿙๋࿙࿚⊱♔⊰࿙࿚๋࿚𝆤† Sumeragi Yuuta, the golden rule
💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?
↳ Heavy sleeper. No hesitation.
↳ Idk, he just seems like a heavy sleeper to me! That also probably has to do with the fact that I'm also a pretty heavy sleeper
↳ At the very least, he has a better sleep schedule than me SJSHDJHSDJ
🐷 PIG FACE — what is your oc's favorite animal?
↳ Sorry to say this, but I don't think he has one.
🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?
↳ Maybe...? I wouldn't peg him as an instrumentalist, if I'm being honest. Although I can see him playing something like a piano!

▹     †𝆤࿙๋࿙࿚⊱【 ♛ 】⊰࿙࿚๋࿚𝆤† Victoria Shard, the beautiful manipulator
💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?
↳ Depends on how her day's been. If it was a particularly bad one, she's a light sleeper. If it was a good one, she's sleeping heavier than usual.
↳ Her sleep schedule is so fucking complex 😭 she sleeps early, and wakes up equally as early. Someone give this girl a break-
🐷 PIG FACE — what is your oc's favorite animal?
↳ Probably between ravens or doves!
↳ She doesn't have a specific reason for liking those two birds, she just finds them to be endearing to her.
🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?
↳ She's had multiple lessons by both Zen and professional musicians over the years, so she's pretty well adept with instruments.
↳ She's best at: The piano, violin, cello, and harp!
