First Ship Ever in Your Life: From what I remember it would have been between these two (I forget which one came first timewise): Bella x Edward (Twilight - yes I was a fan of the series, now I just make fun of it), or Rachel x Jesse (St. Berry - although Lea Michele is a terrible human, still 100% ship this)

The Ultimate Three Ships: Hmm... That's hard because I've kinda stopped 'shipping' things, but I guess I would say (and this one is one I have heard beforehand, so don't judge just me~) Maxi & Ruth [Under the Oak Tree] (I'm sorry, I love Riftan, but like, c'mon...), Miyamura x Hori [Horimiya] (I guess that one is cannon, so unsure if it counts, but I'm adding it), and lastly, Deku x Bandages [My Hero Academia] (mans is always in a bandage - I stg)

The First Crush (Fictional Character/Fandom): Hawkeye from M*A*S*H - 100%. I was like ten at the time, and boy did I like that man. Still do!

Last Movie finished: Fifty Shades of Grey - the last one. Honestly, I just put them on in the background at this point. I know people won't believe me when I say this, but I actually like the story in them, not the other parts. People won't believe me, but it's true.

First Time watching: I honestly forget the name. It was one about a couple who after years of the wife waiting to go on their honeymoon, the husband finally books it (although it was a wine tasting tour). On the plane she meets a rich guy, who invites them to stay on his yacht instead. They end up being roped into a murder mystery.

Favorite Flower: Honestly, kinda feel like it's a lame flower, but buttercups. They aren't interesting in anyway, I just like them.

Currently Reading (you can add a link): Besides all of my weekly webtoons/manhuas/etc. I've been reading Boys Abyss (it's a wild ride for sure), and rereading two series that I read in high school (Hush Hush, and The Paper God series)

Currently Watching: Need to catch up on the latest season of Bungo (got kinda in a funk halfway through and stopped watching many shows, so I'm starting to get around to watching things again)

Last Thing I Wrote (Ship/Fandom) (can add link): The latest chapter of the fanfiction.

Currently Writing (can add link): NPC bios for a DnD campaign I am in. I'm writing two people from my characters home town, so I will add in some things that the party can learn about my character from them, and I will add the insight check numbers and such. I'm kinda excited to do that. :)

yeah i’ve had a qanba obsidian for years! there’s a few other sticks i’m interested in more aesthetically but i have no reason to get another one when my obsidian is just fine and tbh doesn’t get as much use as it should

Anon the thought of Satoru keeping his infinity off for Suguru and Shoko exclusively and of Suguru being still an exception even after everything till the very end keeps me up at night it’s my favorite headcanon I !!!! love just how deliberate on Satoru’s part every received touch is, it makes the fact that he’s willing to be touched by them so much more significant 😭😭

I don’t currently have anything in the work but there’s a couple things I’ve been keeping on the backburner of my brain as a reminder that I want to draw them as soon as the mood strikes - it won’t be krbk tho! Just putting it out there. I can’t say whether I’ll ever draw that again as of now, ngl, I’d need hori to backtrack on what he did with them a lot to feel inspired for them again, sadly 🙏

Expanding on My Last Post:

Hi, I’m back. It’s morning now, hi. This was meant to be brief but Ghosty doesn’t do brief so here we are.

This is a less tired post so enjoy!

I’ve seen a few people say that Shuu’s humiliation started mainly in Re, and that in TG:1 Tsukiyama was only mocked in TG:1 bc he was rich and out of touch.

Yes, we’ll talk more abt that later; but u missed the point of my post. It’s not just that he was rich and out of touch, but again, in TG:1 he is still the only slightly ‘safe’ queer character.

He is still bullied by other characters, and Ishida turns him into a laughing stock in the extra scenes. That’s not mentioning the things Ishida has him do in deleted or extra scenes.

My point is: Shuu is the only queer character to get a redemption. Even when Ishida tried to make him straight, he was treated as different from the others. He is a joke all the time, even when he is mentally ill (more on that later). He literally cannot catch a break from anyone; the other characters, the author, and to an extent, us.

So.

I wanna get this next thing over and done with, so let’s get through it.

We Need To Talk About The Scat:

I want to point out the scat stuff here, bc I feel it’s relevant.

Ishida says that in his earliest work involving Shuu and Hori, he would have Shuu do some weird stuff involving dog scat. Obviously we don’t know what Ishida wrote exactly, but I find it really strange that of all the things to mention about his past work; Ishida chose that.

He says he’s embarrassed by the work, yes, but what we know abt it is that it involves Tsukiyama, Hori, and he chooses to mention dog scat.

This is not only weird, but foul. It’s awful. And I have little doubt that the reason Ishida brought up this in particular is bc it’s disgusting and foul, and most importantly; humiliating.

But Ishida seems to love doing that.

Isn’t it funny? How Tsukiyama is seen as degenerative by fans for fetishising and lusting after a man, but Ishida seeming to get off on humiliating a queer man (often using a straight or female character to do so) is unquestioned.

It is exhausting to have to type this, but y’all need to understand.

Now I move onto my next points, which will be slightly more fandom-orientated.

Shuu Tsukiyama and Child Predators/Gender-Swapping The Role Of The Degenerate:

Shuu is commonly compared to similar queer-coded characters, such as Hisoka and Adam. These two characters are child predators.

Tsukiyama is never shown to have predatory feelings towards children. He builds a relationship with Hinami, which would be strange in other circumstances, but this was at a point where Hinami was living with Banjou and Kaneki. She had almost no one to be with.

His malicious intentions were Hinami were not sexual. They were directed at Kaneki. We don’t know exactly what his intentions were, only that Touka and Nishiki reacted very strongly to him being around Himami.

Touka and Nishiki have their own reasons for being concerned, but here, their concerns are slightly more severe, bc Hinami is a child. Even if what Touka and Nishiki are worried about is justified, there is an insinuation that something predatory is going on.

This creates the idea that Shuu would do something predatory to a child. Even though this is the only time we see him around one, and we know that his intentions are directed at Kaneki.

This idea, this portrayal, is problematic in multiple ways, and sadly, it’s not an uncommon portrayal of queer men.

For one, this idea leans heavily into the ‘Men Can’t Be Around Children That Aren’t Their Own’ point. We see this a lot in real life. A man who takes care of or is friendly with a child that isn’t his own is more critiqued than a woman.

This is a feminist issue, as it leans into the belief that women are inherently motherly and men aren’t as capable. It suggests that men outside of a family group are inherently predatory and not to be trusted. It also leans into that, ‘all men are pigs/all men want is sex’ thing.

The fandom’s idea of Shuu being a child predator also leans into the ‘Queer-People-Are-Predators’ idea.

Again, I do not want to accuse the fandom of anything, but I hate the child predator thing most for a number of reasons.

Even though the fandom is basically dead, I still see posts in the Tsukiyama tag comparing him to predatory characters or calling him a predator.

Now, here I’d like to move to my next point in this section, and ask the question: how do these facts and ideas change if Tsukiyama was a woman?

If Tsukiyama was a woman, I can almost guarantee that his relationship with Hinami would be seen as less predatory and uncomfortable, and would be seen as more motherly and cute.

This, again, leans into the sexist idea that women are inherently carers and men are takers. Meaning that the prospect of Tsukiyama being a child predator is not only queerphobic, but rooted in sexism.

If switching Tsukiyama’s gender, we also have to ask;

If Tsukiyama was a woman, would his relationship with Kaneki be predatory and creepy, or would it be admired and fetishised?

Think of the obsessive girl stereotype in manga and anime. The obsessive girl is seldom seen as degenerative. She’s mentally ill at worst, maybe people use the word ‘psycho’. But she is still desired, and respected.

Tsukiyama is the male equivalent of this, and think abt how differently he is seen compared to this hypothetical female character.

Then, we also have to look at how opinions change if both Kaneki and Tsukiyama were both women.

To put it simply; the relationship would be fetishised to hell, especially by the author and male audience.

The reasoning for both of the above is again, queerphobic and sexist, because we do not take women as seriously, and straight men (a lot of TG’s audience) fo not find sexual pleasure in gay relationships.

I’d like to talk more on this subject, but frankly it deserves a post of its own.

Speaking of Tsukiyama’s obsessive nature, I’d like to move to my next point:

The Ignored Mental Illnesses of Shuu Tsukiyama.

I relate a lot to Tsukiyama. I’ve had an eating disorder, I’ve attempted suicide, I’m autistic, and most importantly; I have spent a large portion of my life in extreme loneliness.

People often forget or ignore the mental issues Tsukiyama is shown to have. And that is: a lot.

I did used to think maybe he was slightly autistic, but looking at what we know abt his life as a whole, I think he’s just very mentally ill and possibly underdeveloped (as a person).

Growing up, it’s likely that Tsukiyama rarely saw the people he loved. He had servants, but what is a child to do with servants? People who are paid to be there.

His childhood was spent around people who were paid to like him. Imagine how fucking lonely and sad you’d feel when you figured that out.

He went to school, but from what we know, his friendships were pretty empty. Again, lots of people probably thought higher of his wallet than him. Even Chie Hori, who is one of his only friends, humiliates him, mocks him, and most importantly, I refer to my earlier points abt scat; Chie Hori is the one who Tsukiyama did that sort of thing around. She has a camera, and I think there are pictures in the calender where she takes a photo of Tsukiyama stepping in scat. She has a photo of it. Will the photo be deleted at Tsukiyama’s request, or will it be kept and shown around by her to further humiliate him?

(NOTE: I couldn’t find the photo from the calender but I remember it rly bad. I’ll look around more and update the post if I find it, but please take this with salt bc I do not have the photo. My point still stands, I don’t think Hori would delete an embarrassing photo of him. She’d share it for sure).

As much as we like to joke abt who Shuu might’ve been as a child, I see a lot of ‘weird-gay-kid lol’ in the fandom and not ‘mentally-ill-child’.

I understand that lots of people probably think of this fondly bc of their own memories of being a gay kid and having little idea what that means. We all go through that embarrassing phase. That’s not what I’m getting at, I’m looking at the more slightly mean-spirited idea of this.

With Shuu’s childhood in mind, it’s easy to see why he gets so obsessive.

Also, to refer to my first point abt what was mentioned in the comments: Tsukiyama is funny is TG:1 being out of touch, and seems to think he’s terribly in touch.

Given what I’ve mentioned abt his childhood, and his life so far; this point is even more tragic.

As a character, Tsukiyama seems desperate to want to fit in. He wants and needs friends, he has a deep desire for companionship, but he has absolutely no idea how to get it.

I relate to this heavily, almost entirely, and it absolutely sucks. You guys, I was homeschooled after my suicide attempt. I haven’t been outside on my own since I was thirteen. I am seventeen as of writing. I am at a point where I deeply desire a human connection, and it frustrates me incredibly that I do not have the social ability to communicate properly and gain companionship.

So I understand where Tsukiyama is coming from, and how he’s feeling.

How Tsukiyama seems to deal with this crippling loneliness is interesting, and I feel can be summed up by this one song lyric:

‘I feel like I’m the worst, so I always act like I’m the best,’

Tsukiyama is humiliated and used by those around him, so in his mind; if he can’t make a friend as he is now, he will have to convince them he is better than he is.

Then, he thinks, then they will desire MY friendship.

This is…sad.

Bc it doesn’t work. They only humiliate him more. He is ‘out of touch’ and it’s funny. It’s funny, that he is desperately reaching out for human connection.

I don’t think it’s funny at all, but some of this is speculatory, so take it with salt.

The Ending Of TG and How It Relates To His Tragedy:

So, Tsukiyama has never had a true friend. His actual friends humiliate him. The people around him humiliate him. The man he loves and so desperately clings onto, mocks and treats him like an object.

This is no different by the end of the story, even after he has broken down in front of everyone. His breakdown is mocked and belittled (by Nishiki) and all the other characters act like they thought of it first (kindly, fuck off).

By the end of the story, these other characters have very lifescript happy endings. Shuu doesn’t.

Shuu is, as far as we know, single and childless. Which according to the endings of the straight character, is bad (no wahmen in the kitchen and no bebe).

Again, I reiterate; Shuu is the only queer character to be considered good by the end of the story. And he is one of the only main characters to end up single and childless.

There’s no reason why he can’t have a happy life like that. Hell, that’s the life I want! But in this ending, he is still surrounded by the people who see him as a wallet, or who just mock him.

That’s not happy. He has no one. He has his dad, a career…That’s it.

He has Ichika (Touka & Kaneki’s kid).

Ichika is interesting, bc she won’t yet have biases against Shuu, and that’s probably why he’s so besotted by her. Like, ohmygod, an actual person who treats me like an actual person with emotions!

But that’s not gonna last is it? Ichika is gonna grow up seeing him get mocked by everyone around her, how long until she starts doing it?

And again, we mention the ‘man-is-predatory’ trope. I’m glad the series ended bc what tf would Ishida have made Shuu do around that kid to make him seem like even worse?

Whatever, again, a lot of this is speculatory. I’m just guessing, but this seems like a likely conclusion.

Tsukiyama doesn’t get a happy ending. The queer man doesn’t get that.

That’s why fanfic exists I guess. But my fanfic shouldn’t have to be partially comforting my comfort character so I can sleep at night.

To Conclude:

Guys, listen;

This wasn’t something that started in Re, or the extra scenes, or the side novels; this has been constant. It’s in every part of TG from start to end.

I’m not accusing anyone of doing this maliciously, bc Ishida does it so flippantly.

I know that Tsukiyama has comedic value in many other ways that do not humiliate him. He’s ridiculously wealthy, and to me, he is almost the perfect embodiment if Gemma Collins crying on CBB bc ‘it’s like working 24/7 for TWO DAYS on the trot’ and bc ‘you’ve only got straighteners not heated rollers’ and ‘straighteners are wot facking weirdos use on their hair…that’s wot u think of me’. (Just watch Gemma Colins on CBB she’s iconic).

We can also certainly joke abt some of his mental state. We do it all the time to ourselves. But like in real life; we need to watch the line.

Tsukiyama’s just fun. He’s dramatic, and flamboyance in of itself isn’t bad. It’s fun! But we have to be careful with how and where we find his fun.

It’s important we provide more in depth examinations of this character, more than just joking. We need to examine the previous fandom’s relationship with him and ask: how can we do better?

As queer people, as allies, as emotional beings.

How can we do better?

Not just for Shuu, but for other characters with similar treatment.

We are evolving and learning beings. We are all so new to the world.

It’s important for us especially to examine fictional characters, and ask how this relates to irl situations. How we treat fiction online may show more abt ourselves then we’d like to believe.

I guess what I want to say is; think. Just think. Please.

julia finds out he makes insanely good soup, i mean she already knew that but he cooked it specifically for her when she’s sick

sometimes julia will fake sick to eat it

she does become a lot grumpier and kinda clingy when sick, since her senses are a little messed up with the cold making it a little harder to perceive things so she leans on barbatos for this

julia once tripped and fell when she was heading to the bathroom during a high fever and barb had a fucking heart attack

Mammon x Reese

someone actually save these two. like my god.

mammon becomes really sulky in school and refuses to do anything without reese around

reese will haul himself to school but mammon hauls his ass right back to bed then proceed to complain about reese’s absence.

mammon slams open the door to catch reese streaming on deviltube because reese is bored

eventually mammon falls asleep next to reese’s bed

and catches a cold from being the idiot who continues to ask for kisses

Beelzebub x Sen

beelzebub is so confused but tries his best

goes to barbatos to learn how to make soup for sen because soup always makes him feel better

sen complains about feeling cold, and beel knows he has the highest body temperature out of the demons and has a pretty strong immune system from eating god knows what so he has no qualms about crawling into bed with sen and cuddling her so she’s warm

i mean she actually has a fever but sen slapped on one of those menthol cooling patches on her forehead so it’s gucci

beel’s hands are large and warm. instant heating pads.

really attentive and sits by her bed like a sad puppy asking if she needs anything

since he has a habit of guarding lucifer’s room when said brother is sick, he guards sen’s room too. just kinda sits in front with his ddd and a pile of snacks, inconveniencing everyone who tries to pass by the hallway

Belphegor x Usako

walks around house of lamentation wrapped in a blanket and leaving tissues in her wake

why is she so mopey my god belphegor doesn’t have the energy for this. slaps a cold towel on her forehead and passes out on the floor

usako literally refuses to rest so belphe has to cast a sleeping spell on her to get her to stay down and recover

belphe goes to ask beel how to help usako get better since beel seems to have better success with sen

you have to realize belphie, sen and beel are like one of the only functional couples here ok.

“why are you so fussy just eat the medicine.” “sTOP FUSSING” “MY GOD JUST EAT IT” belphie is like yey close to flipping his shit

accidentally made her cry because she’s sensitive and belphie sighs really loudly as if to say “damn ur annoying” but goes to cuddle her anyways and presses kisses to her forehead to pacify her

she shows up the next day 100% genki genki and belphie is like “??? weren;t you just sniffling and coughing and having a fever yesterday what happened to you”

Satan x Yen

satan is probably one of the only competent boyfriends here ngl

has read a ton of books and spends his time reading random things on the internet so he figures out what yen might need

except the damn girl is always sleeping and it’s time for her daily dose of medicine which unlike usako, she doesn’t kick up a fuss over eating.

gets sick pretty easily and is prone to high fevers. satan ignores her complaining as he places cold towels on her back and forehead.

Name your top 5 favorite anime/manga! (or cartoons/shows if you’re not into anime and manga)

Here we go!

1. Beastars – Haru is right there in my profile pic you can't expect anything else. The anime is perfectly fine and I adore the op and the ed but it’s the manga where it’s really at. It remains one of the only manga where I could consistently keep up despite not being hugely involved with the fandom and I adore the world, I adore the characters and most of all I adore the expressions. The anime really suffers from having to be pretty and not allowing for the amount of stupid goat faces Louis makes, or Legosi’s puppy excitability or Haru just being a fucking wierdo. The only complaint I have is that I wish the girls got more screen time, they are amazing every time they appear I just wish they had more of a chance to. Especially Juno, Juno really suffered from being just dropped out of the plot. Also one of the lions’ should have been Louis’ age so they could have been gay together, like ye Louis’s ending makes sense but you will never be able to take away ‘I feel more at ease surrounded by male carnivores then with a female herbivore’, just let Louis be gay oh my god, even his fucking dad saw it. Anyway Beastars is great and I love it very much and I am very sad it’s done ;-;

2. Re: Creators – I have very conflicted opinions about this one, despite it being number two. I really owe it an objective rewatch because the second part of it really slapped me in the face with the sudden boatload of fanservice so much that it soured my opinion on it through the rest of the show. Paired with both of my favs getting the short end of the stick in two different ways, by the end of Re Creators I was left with a rather bitter taste in my mouth so I really want to see how it holds up once I know what will happen. So why is it so high up if all I do is complain about it? The first part was just that amazing. It was the first and only time I watched an anime and felt ‘wow this was written for ME, this was written with someone like me in mind’. A story has never felt so personal and so lovingly crafted and I just adored every bit of it and god every time I think about the good aspects of it I want to sit down and rewatch it again to reevaluate the bad. In the end it felt personal, it felt like it was speaking to me and it felt heartfelt and cared for and that for me is something special. Also Magane really needs her own show, like I remember thinking ‘shes izaya but better’ and if that doesn’t scream she needs her own show I don’t know what does. Still bitter at the way they just dropped her at the end my god.

3. Durarara – This one has been a giant in my fandom experience. I wrote my first fanfiction for Durarara and one of very indulgent self-insert stories lead to me roleplaying in private for the first time and the person I roleplayed with eventually introduced me to group roleplay (Blu if ur reading this I love u <3) so it kinda lead to the way I’m mostly active in fandom today and some of my favorite OC’s originated from making Durarara OC’s not to mention Izaya remaining one of my favorite characters ever and someone who I look to whenever I want to make a fun villain. Durarara is a show that is filled with complex human interactions and at some points it really seems like a love letter to humanity. We are all weird, we all have our rich inner lives, even people who look ordinary get up to some stuff you would never have guessed, that’s what it feels like it’s saying. I don’t know there is no objective way to talk about it because it’s been so ingrained in my fandom experience it will simply always remain one of my favorites, no two ways about it. The fics I wrote for Durarara when I was a teen were cringy af and horribly planned but I received so much positive comments and support and I think that always remained a big part of why I kept on writing and why I felt that writing is something that I’m good at. Even now, knowing how bad they were it just motivates me more to keep on improving and whenever I feel down about my writing I always think ‘well people liked that trash and this is better so some people will like this too’. It’s also the reason why I can’t stand cringe culture, honestly I think I’m even more grateful to all the people who saw my baby fics went ‘yikes that’s edgy’ and then didn’t comment, those guys were the real troopers.

4. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki- Kun – number four is where the going gets tough because of my poor memory and differentiating shows I watched, remembered and liked, from shows that left some kind of impact. Nozaki-kun is a dumbass comedy anime/manga and it’s the only manga I can remember ever making me consistently laugh at loud and I feel that that earns it number four spot well enough. The characters are all just lovable and stupid and lovably stupid, and I honestly can’t say there is a pair I dislike. Like it never feels like ‘oh its x character chapter yawn’ it’s always a fun time no matter what the matchup is. I don’t have anything smart to say about it, it makes me laugh, it’s a good time, it doesn’t take itself seriously I love it.

5. Servamp – this really shouldn’t be here because I stopped halfway through the manga and STILL haven’t caught up. But Servamp is the manga that’s constantly on my mind and I never stop thinking ‘man I really should catch up’. The only reason I haven’t is cuz I’m so terribly bad at reading stuff online even though the arc I left off was tense and I really want to know what happened with Tsurugi and Wrath was just given a time to shine and aaaaa one day I’ll catch up. There’s really nothing to say about this show, it’s dumbass vampire shonen and I’m really not sure why I like it so much. The character designs are fun and on point and anime is kinda horrible CUZ THEY DIDN’T PUT IN A WHOLE ARC WHO DOES THAT, but the op is delightfully edgy and the ed is a shameless high school theater style rip off of the kekkai sensen sen ed which is just amazing in how bad and awkward it is. This ed is such awkward dumb trash and I somehow just love it more for it, like it’s so bold about being a trashy rip off, bby what is you doing. Honestly I can’t say anything objective about this series cuz it’s been so long since I actually read it but it lives in my head rent free and that must count for something. Slaps gold star on.

I feel like I should also mention Bnha cuz its the fandom I’m most active in but hvhjvj I mostly like the fanside of BNHA rather than the show itself. For the show itself i think its good with some great moments but that’s about it. I’m just here for fan shit cuz hori made such a wonderful sandbox.

Chapter 259 looks like the villains are trapped. Endeavor found the doctor and the heroes are at the mansion. This doesn’t look good. But the liberation front has planned so much, I don’t think this raid will be easy. And I know I’m supposed to be happy for the heroes but the league has gained so much power now I want to watch them show it off to the heroes. What do u think of the chapter? Are the villains prepared or is this a surprise attack?

I’m going to be really honest, I actually don’t actively follow MHA or keep up with much of the spoilers because it tends to make me anxious. I just casually catch up with all of the info as it shows up on timeline on twitter and my dash here on Tumblr. I actually only read it when Shigaraki is directly involved (I’ve read the entire MVA arc at least ten times at this point), or just when I see something that seems interesting (like, if my boys Iida and Shinsou get some spotlight).

ALL OF THAT TO SAY that I although I definitely have some thoughts about what could happen next, they’re really just that. Thoughts. I’m not too keen on trying to make accurate predictions and I don’t like to get my expectations too high because, you know, anxiety.

But, surprisingly enough, I’m actually not too worried about this chapter! We’re literally just starting this big battle arc after a lot of build-ups, so it’s not gonna end so quickly, you know? There is the build-up to Shigaraki waking up, there are all of our villain teams with new characters, so I have a hard time believing Shigaraki is in any real danger at all right now.

Here are some possibilities from the top of my head:

1) The villains are prepared. Shigaraki (and maybe Twice?) leaked the wrong info to Hawks because they know all too well that he is a double agent, and Shigaraki is not even in that hospital but somewhere else.

2) Shigaraki is in that hospital, but the place is more guarded than it looks, the villains have more tricks up their sleeves, and the Heroes won’t be able to reach him (either because of Nomus or other maybe one of the villain team is charged to guard him).

3) The place is not really that guarded, but one of the villain team gets the info that Shigaraki is under attack and comes to save him at the last second (maybe Dabi’s team because 1)SHIGADABI 2) confrontation with Endeavor).

4) No one comes, but Shigaraki actually wakes up from the operation early, either because he “absorbed” it all faster than the Ujiko thought he would or because he sensed the danger and woke up before it was over, and he kicks the hero’s ass with his new powers.

5) The heroes actually capture Shigaraki, but this all part of his plan. They take him to jail, exactly where he needed to be, and the arc is actually a surprise prison break with Shigaraki working from the inside and the LOV from the outside, and they break Kurogiri free. All according to keikaku, the heroes fell into their trap.

So yeah! These are just some very simple ideas of what could go down, and Hori could totally surprise us with something else! All of that to say that I’m really not worried about Shig and the villains right now. They got this!

My Current Anime/Manga List

Now that Fairy Tail is over, I thought I’d make a list (in no particular order) of all the series I’m currently following and how I feel about them.

1. Shokugeki No Soma:

This series is probably the one I’m most invested in ship-wise but not story-wise. The reason being, that there’s just way too little normal character interaction, and way too many food battles. There’s no balance and it frustrates me. Especially because most of the battle outcomes are obvious, so there’s no tension. I feel the complete opposite about the ship situation. Because the romance is on such a slow burn (which I love), we’re still in that “when and how will x fall for y” phase, so I’m not sure how things will play out. Obviously, in my case, x is Erina, and y is Souma. I’ve meta’d and made graphic posts about this ship, so you know I’m serious lol. But the double-edged sword of a slow burn, is that it literally takes ages for any progress to happen, so it’s easy to lose enthusiasm in the meantime. But when something does finally happen, my passion is usually reinvigorated again, so that’s good lol.

2. Boku No Hero Academia:

I’ve already made a post with my thoughts on the ships here. Basically, I ship only one thing so far, and think it’s cute, but I’m not obsessed with it. It’s definitely a story > ship series for me at the moment, and I honestly would like to keep it that way. I am all caught up with the series for the most part, but still haven’t read the newest chapters after I caught up, so that’s not a *great* sign. But I did the same with FT. I marathoned it, caught up, and then forgot about it for months and months until I fell in love with it all over again and never looked back.

3. Akatsuki No Yona:

It’s the only shoujo I’m following. I’m completely caught up, but tend to forget when new chapters come out, and then have to catch up all over again. I love this series. I’ll probably end up collecting the manga to own, because it has great reread potential, and is a favorite. But it’s not a series where I’m active in the fandom at all. And I ship Hak x Yona of course. And I want my own Hak. ^-^ This is a series where I love both the ship and story equally. And as it’s a shoujo the ship and story usually go hand in hand anyway haha.

4. Noragami:

Another series I love and am finally all caught up on. I watched the anime, and read the manga, but got very behind, and missed out on several months worth of chapters. I just caught back up about a month ago, but the series is on hiatus because one of the authors is ill? And it’s been on hiatus for months now, so I’m worried. :( Ship: Yato x Hiyori obviously (and I <3 Yato). But this series is definitely more a story > ship series for me. Though the ship is excellent and makes me happy. ^^

5. Twin Star Exorcists:

@rieriebee introduced me to this series. I fell in love with it immediately and marathoned the entire manga in a weekend. However, I’ve fallen behind and have yet to catch up. >_< I like both the story and the ships about equally. I ship the obvious couples, which would be Rokuro x Benio and Shimon x Mayura. However, because the ships are SO obvious (in Rokuro and Benio’s case, it’s clear they will have a child together), it’s hard for me to be too passionate about it. However, I confess that as hard as I ship the main pairing, I love Shimon and Mayura more (Shimayu woo!). Mostly because I adore Shimon, and the spoilers I saw recently really do make me antsy to catch up. *-*

6. 7 Deadly Sins:

Watched the anime and caught up on some of the manga. I like the story, and I like the ships (some more than others), but it’s another series where I’m just not that invested enough to keep up with regularly. Especially because my main ship (King x Diane) is already canon lmao. It made me happy because that was the ship I instantly liked. But, again, all the ships are obvious. There’s no tension in any of them really. And while I like the story, it didn’t grab me enough to keep me invested in following it. But I will likely watch the anime when it returns soon.

7. Tokyo Ghoul:

Another series @rieriebee introduced me to. I’m currently making my way through the anime. I’m in the middle of season 2. I like the story and don’t really think about the ships. Especially since I already know where the main one is headed ohoho. I’ll def end up watching season 3 when it comes out next year.

8. Welcome to the Ballroom:

I’m just following along with the current anime series. I started watching it, because I wanted something to fill the void of Yuri On Ice. But, it’s not really like that series at all, of course. The ships are strangely not as important or prominent as I thought they’d be when I started watching. In fact, right now I don’t know what, if anything I ship. I just like the story, but it is SLOW. But I always enjoyed ballroom dancing, so that’s ok with me. ^^

9. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun:

I kind of low-key follow this one, because I usually forget about it, or never know where to go looking for translations. So, I’m really behind, and just aware of recent story developments thank to @chanting-to-u. I really want to catch up, though. I watched the anime, and wish they’d make a new season, because it was hilarious and I want more. ;_; I ship all the obvious ships, but my fav is Hori x Kashima. But, I’m happy to hear all the ships have been making more progress lately. *-*

I think that’s about it. There are some series I’ve watched (like Magi) and really loved, but never caught up on the manga. And other series (like Attack On Titan) where I watched and read part of the series, but kind of fell behind/lost interest.

But, all that being said, I’m not really involved in any fandom right now. I’d like to be. That’s a huge part of what made FT so special for me. The people I met who loved it as much as I did. But, then again, when I started following FT, I marathoned it, too, and then fell behind, and didn’t properly catch up and start following it weekly until the GMG arc. That’s when I started posting about it on forums and tumblr, so who knows what the future will bring. ^__^

• He came across you wiping what looked to be a rectangular black table with buttons all over it in the common room • “Sorry, Aruji, but may I ask what you are doing right now?” He knocked on the door, not wishing to scare you• “Oh, Horikawa-san…I was just checking the wires for my piano.”• “Piano?”• You explain that it was an instrument used to make music and you missed playing it• You quickly move underneath the keyboard to quickly try and fix the cords while Hori waits there, making sure it wont fall on you• Because whenever they leave you, something happens…○ Like you getting pinned down by a stack of equipment in the training hall shortly after breakfast causing Hasebe to have a little meltdown○ Or accidentally opening the Toushirou’s closet door by accident and getting buried by a mountain of futons and Yagen had to pull you out before his younger brothers begun to lie down on top of it• You just can’t be left alone because sh*t happens…• The raven-haired Wakizashi waits patiently until you finish setting up• “Done!” You quickly sit on the bench and wipe down the keyboard again before inviting to sit beside you• “Are you sure, Aruji?”• He gave a rather unsure look that clearly says ‘Umm…That bench doesn’t look that stable, Aruji….please think about this again…’• “Oh come now, Hori!” You pat the rather small space beside you with a big smile. “Sit!”• He finally accepts and sits down beside you• You finally turned towards the piano and place your hands on the keys before starting to play a soft melody• Horikawa watches you play, looking quite impressed as the soft music traveled through the common room.• Once you finish the rather short song he gives you a smile.• “That was wonderful, Aruji. Did you compose it?”• “Yes. Although, I don’t have a name for it yet.”• Without even turning your head, you can feel, Hori’s gaze• He’s staring isn’t he…• You feel the young man beside you shift a little bit closer, shoulders touching WAAAAHH!! (/ω＼)• “Thank you for letting me hear it first hand, Master. I really enjoyed listening to you playing.”• (〃 ω 〃) HORI IS A SWEET BEAN~• “…Maybe next time we can invite Kane-san as well…??”• Oh Hori….You never change do you…(^ ∇ ^lll)

• Tomoe caught you using that ‘magical’ black ball you claimed to help you make decisions after asking it a question and shaking it furiously • “Should I get back at Tsurumaru for pranking me this morning?”…Yes • “Should I even do my paperwork today?”… No • "Will I get a boyfriend this year”…Perhaps • "Should I purchase a piano”…Yes • "Is it too late to call in sick–”• "Good Morning, Aruji.”• You jolt and throw the Magic 8 ball into your drawer before greeting the spectacled man• “M-morning Tomoe! You’re here early!”• You didn’t even notice him standing in the doorway, holding today’s stack of paperwork • “Of course, Aruji. It’s good to start early and get everything done early as well.”• He walks over, placing a small stack of papers on your desk Signalling that it was time for you to start work• You send him a pleading look but he avoids looking at your little pout• He’s not Hasebe, dear….Tomoe is resistant to most tricks… • One time you convinced him that it was a vacation day and ran off to play with the Tantous • He also heard from Kotegiri that you tend to spend your allowance on things you don’t really need like fidget spinners or glow sticks• He kept a close eye on you until the work day finally ended and he announced that you were free to relax for the rest of the day• You excitedly run off to plan your revenge on Tsurumaru while thanking him for his hard work• …• The very next day, after successfully getting back at Tsurumaru by wrapping his doorway with Saran wrap• You were stopped by Tomoe who was carrying a rather large box• “Good Morni-”• “What did you order, Aruji.” Teal-haired warrior interrupted• “Ehmm…A piano…?" (◕▿◕)???• You explain to him what it is and tug at his sleeve to help you set up so you can show him• A Within half an hour, the electric piano was up and you quickly take a seat• "How do you use it, Aruji?”• “I’ll show you. • He was practicing his calligraphy when he heard you playing It sounded quite good and he could not help but wander towards where it was originating from• He peeks into your study and sees your playing a piece from Chopin • He opens the sliding door a little bit more to listen intently, curiosity getting the best of him• You abruptly stop when you hear the door sliding open and turn your head towards him making him jolt• “Good Morning, Kasen.”• "A-ah, apologies, Aruji. I did not mean to interrupt you." • "No, no. It’s alright. Come sit.” You give him a bright smile and invited him to sit down beside you. “I’m sorry did I disturb your work?”•“No, not at all…What is object called?”• “Ah, it’s called a piano.” You motion for him to try and press a key•He presses the said key and you accompany the key with a calming melody, silently encouraging him to press it repeatedly.• The Citadel’s poet watches with strong interest as you finally end the song.•“That was rather quite beautiful, Master…”•“…Who are you and what did you do to Kasen?” You poke his shoulder jokingly. •“How rude, Master.” The Uchigatana laughed as he pinched your cheek gently. “Perhaps are you fishing for compliments?”• “Maybe~”• The two of you share a few chuckles as you sit side by side, comfortable• “You know music may help inspire you while writing poems.”• “…Is that an invitation?”• You just tsk and poke his shoulder again, urging him to go get his things so he can keep you company.“…Just go get your things, Kasen.”• You receive a pat on the head before the Uchigatana leaves to retrieve his writing tools.• Once he returns, he settles down close by and starts writing while you continue playing a few tunes• A few times you caught Kasen sitting in front of the piano, trying to learn how to play it• “It’s not as elegant as a Koto….it’s simply too bulky. And the keys are cannot be reached as easily and sitting on the bench is quite uncomfortable–”• …Don’t think I don’t see you imitating me when I’m not looking (•- _ -•)• But you knew he was interested since you found him taking one of your music books from your office in the pretense of borrowing a book about gardening.

Nozaki gets so used to seeing Sakura that when she isn’t at school for a few days, it sticks out like a sore thumb in his mind.

He remembered standing blankly at the school gates in the morning, waiting for Sakura’s cheerful face to bound towards him and bubbling with some sort of gossip or news that she’d always be eager to share, because honestly the cute girl can never keep her mouth shut. They’d meet at the front gates on the campus and wander through the halls together, stopping at each other’s lockers and chatting up until class began.

And as he realised, when the morning bell rang and he still hadn’t seen the redhead at all in the courtyard, that Sakura wasn’t there, he oddly felt like some sort of lost puppy.

If any of their friends noticed the way Nozaki quietly poked each of them to ask, “do you know where Sakura is?” with concern lacing his usually monotonous voice, they didn’t say anything.

Lunch ended up being quite boring, with Nozaki sitting by himself with a decorative bento on the table and an empty seat across from him. Thankfully, Hori swooped in and made small-talk to keep Nozaki from looking like a total loser.

When it was the end of the day, and Nozaki would usually wait again at the courtyard gates for Sakura so they would then walk to his apartment together to work on manga together, Nozaki found himself lingering still - as if he expected Sakura to still come bounding.

He didn’t want to text her even though it was only one day for fear of possibly looking pathetically clingy, but he will admit that his place was uncomfortably quiet as he worked by himself into the evening, the seat at his table blank and the air quiet.

(He’s so used to hearing Sakura’s presence, her humming and bumbling as she works.)

When the second morning turns up similar as the day before, with Nozaki stupidly standing by himself at the gate waiting for the short girl to appear at his side, Hori has to say something because Nozaki looks like a lost puppy and honestly, he kind of pities the big guy.

“Ay, good morning, Nozaki,” he called. “You’re looking like a buoy lost at sea. What’s up?”

Nozaki nods at him in greeting, before asking, “do you know where Sakura is?”

At that, Hori raised an eyebrow. “No, why?”

“She doesn’t seem to be here today, and she wasn’t at school yesterday either.”

“Why don’t you ask her yourself?” Hori asks, in a tone that wasn’t unkind. “You have her number, don’t you?”

When Nozaki stoically turned away without answering, Hori tried to hide his smirk.

“Ah, Nozaki,” he said cheekily, and started walking towards his class as the bell rang. “You’re such a fool sometimes.”

It was the third day that Nozaki finally did something.

He was thoroughly worried at that point - and when he finally got himself to send a text to Sakura at he stood by himself at the courtyard gates that morning, he wondered why he felt so nervous about it as he typed out a simple message.

nozakiYou haven’t been at school for a few days. Are you ok?

sakuraah nozaki~! (*´ I `)ﾉﾟ i am sorry i haven’t been able to work on your manga with you for the past few days. i have been sick :-( so that is why i haven’t been at school.

nozakiOh I’m sorry to hear that. Are you feeling better?

sakurabarely (╥ω╥) i have got a really bad cold, my throat is awful ! it’s been so boring to stay inside all this time but i don’t want to accidentally spread it towards other people (~_~ )

nozakiWould you like me to come over? I can make you some soup and keep you company.

As promised, Nozaki knocks on Sakura’s door a clean hour after school, a small thermos in one hand and his book bag in the other. He greets Sakura’s parents with a small bow and smiles, and they lead him into Sakura’s bedroom.

The air is stale and the curtains are closed, and Sakura’s curled up on the bed and she yelps when she sees Nozaki standing at her doorway.

“Ack, Nozaki-kun! I look awful right now, oh gosh, my hair is terrible right now, let me just tie it up first before you look-!”

“Your hair is fine,” Nozaki says and he ignores the mess of Sakura’s room and sits at the desk that’s next to Sakura’s bed. He opens up the thermos of soup he had made for her and prepares her spoon and napkin, before holding it out to her as she sits up.

Even sick, she still looks endearingly adorable. Her hair is tied up in a messy bun this time, strands framing her rosy face where her cheeks and nose are pink. He can hear it in her voice that she’s still definitely sick, and he stifles a smile as Sakura gingerly takes the thermos from him and spoons some soup into her mouth.

“Ay, this is delicious! Thank you so much for visiting me. I hope you don’t get sick by being around me.”

Nozaki quietly beams under her praise, but on the outside he just shrugs nonchalantly. “I don’t care, or mind. I wanted to.” He reached into the book bag he brought with him, and gave her some papers. “I also picked up the homework you missed. It’s not a lot though. I can help you if you need it.”

Sniffling, Sakura puts down the thermos and takes the papers. “Ah, Nozaki-kun, where would I be without you?”

Nozaki thinks about how lonely and listless he felt when Sakura wasn’t there with him, and he wonders the same thing to her.

“It’s no problem,” he says, and he can’t help but smile softly back as Sakura beams at him.

Even if it was only a few days, he missed her lots.

“Yaah, Sakura!” Seo yells as she barrels into Sakura, drowning her in a hug. “You’re back! Where have you been? I thought you died! I was worried I’d have to be left all alone with Nozaki for the rest of the year!”

Sakura’s laughing, her cheeks clear and back to full health, as she and Nozaki enter the courtyard together. Nozaki tilts his eyebrows at Seo’s words, but Seo just grins cheekily at him.

“I was sick, but I’m back now!” Sakura says.”I’ve missed you too, Seo.”

“Oi, but big ole Nozaki here missed you more,” Seo said, and Nozaki grunted as she elbows Nozaki in the ribs. “He was moping and looking so lonely without you here! Asking everyone, hey, do you know where Sakura is?” She pulled her face down in a mock frown and Nozaki was very tempted to hit Seo with his book bag.

At Seo’s words, Sakura feels something flutter in her chest. Nozaki missed me? He went around asking about my whereabouts? She smiles sheepishly as she glances at Nozaki, who only looks away as Seo continues babbling, already moving on to launch into whatever gossip and news Sakura missed over the few days.

And as the three of them walk down the halls, Sakura back to where she belongs right by Nozaki’s side, Hori catches them and waves.

“Ah, Sakura! It’s good to have you back!”

And that, Nozaki thinks, is something he can definitely agree with.

I really really like this meta that someone wrote about Ochaco on reddit, so here we go.

And Ochako decided to suppress her emotions so she could be like Deku-

Waaiiiiit a minute. "Be like Deku?" "I've got to shut them down?" That's a weird thing to think. Let's go a few pages back, to see where Ochako gets the idea from

Ah, well Deku, of course. And we see Deku was inspired by All Might.

But Ochako, unlike us, doesn't have access to Deku's inner thoughts - and misses key stuff as a result. Deku never thinks "I've got to shut down my emotions" - in his mind he's "flipping a switch" - and he's getting pumped to ace the exam for the sake of hisdreams.

Ochako doesn't hear that, obviously. She just sees Deku worry, smack his cheeks, and get pumped. She chalks it all up to Deku "shutting down his emotions.", and then takes off to save the day - just like Deku did.

This decision and imitation almost causes her to fail immediately.

She dashes in to save the day like a hot headed Deku, but is stopped by Momo. And it's a good thing too - the judge was about to take away a lot of points!

But by not fucking up and possibly failing, Ochako doesn't learn the lesson Todoroki and Inasa learned about their own shortcomings. Thanks to Momo's timely intervention, Ochako passes the test, and seems happy about it, at first.

Deku IS happy about passing - so happy that he cries

But when Deku tells Ochako why he's happy about passing - this is her response.

Part VIII: Ochako Uraraka

Remember all those times I told you I'd bring something back up "later?" Later has come.

Ochako Uraraka is an imitator. She wants to be just like Deku - and no one else. I didn't see it at first - and in most manga a love interest imitating the MC is cute.

Ochako's imitation of Deku is not cute.

It's severe and pathological. You'll glance over it when you read chapter by chapter, but look at her thought process and you'll begin to realize something is up here - and you'll also see the narrative itself indicate that her imitation of Deku is a bad idea.

Let's go to chapter 67. Ochako and Aoyoma are engaged with the Black Hole Teacher. Look at Ochako's natural reaction in a pinch.

Aoyoma guesses from Ochako's stern look of concentration exactly what she's thinking

But the results of Ochako being shaken from her train of thought - they aren't what you'd expect. She doesn't lose against Black Hole Guy, she wins. All by not trying to "be like Deku."

Note also that Ochako attributes the victory to "pure dumb luck", but uses what she learned from Gunhead to subdue her opponent. In other words - Aoyoma forcing Ochako to abandon her desire to imitate Deku gave Ochako the means to win.

Here is the result of the fight where Ochako's last waking thoughts were "I can be like Deku... win! WIN!"

The Bakugou fight gets a big call back later on - when Toga and Ochako have their tussle in the woods. The Bakugou fight callback and Ochako thinking "I can be like Deku... win... WIN!" happened in the same page where Toga talks about the nature of imitation - I cropped Ochako's reaction from the Toga section above because I found it so striking.

Ochako had pinned Toga to the ground, but Toga talking about how it wasn't enough to be like someone you "love", but rather how you wanted to become them in full gets to Ochako. It gets to her hard. So hard Toga is able to escape Ochako's pin and steal her blood, which sets up the another callback - in the Provisional Exams.

I steered clear about talking about "Kemie" when I mentioned the Provisional Exams earlier, but now I'll go full tilt into it.

Kemie's true identity is probably one of Hori's best twists. No foreshadowing whatsoever that the girl with the Nazi Hat is actually Toga - but plenty of foreshadowing that Toga could disguise herself as a fake Ochako - which is precisely what "Kemie" does.

Everything has been set up for the Kemie = Toga twist - it's just something hard to catch in the chaos and density of the Provisional Exam Arc.

But onto the second callback - this callback is a callback to Toga's words to Ochako in the forest - a callback to a callback, basically. It occurs in Chapter 109 - after Ochako has this encounter with "Kemie"

It's the "You want to be just like him, right?" dialogue at the bottom of the page. It's word for word what Toga had said in chapter 80 - about "love."

What this means, I have no idea. Ochako's development is almost backwards - she seems to double down in her attempts to be like Deku over time, and the story keeps on punishing her for, but not enough to make her reconsider her approach. There's a cruel kind of tragedy building up here - and I'm not sure where it's going.

Cause even in the group illustrations Hori draws Hoi draws, for Christmas or New Years, you'll see Ochako, imitating her hero.

Conclusion: Imitation is almost ubiquitously bad in Boku No Hero Academia, while emulation is fine. But in a world with "Heroes", imitation is sort of a natural thing to expect - a Hero will make others strive to be like him - even exactly like him. I could be reading too much into it, but I'm interested to see where Hori goes with all of this.

ADDENDUM: I made one huge error in my short and compact essay that was pointed out by /u/Lost-Vayne , /u/PakiIronman , and /u/Bingoboyop .

With the Bakugou fight, Ochako did not use Deku's notes. Deku offered them, but she refused. But as pointed out to me by /u/lookw - Bakugou thought Ochako's strategy and fighting style was so similiar to Deku's, that he confronted Deku, convinced that Ochako had to be using Deku's notes.

After this fight, Ochako goes to train under Gunhead. But she doesn't train her gravity powers - she decides to train in hand to hand. Just something to think about.
