Right so solargeist's really fleshed out watcher headcannons/ au got me thinking

and an idea that's been floating in my head for a while now is 'Grian was always a watcher'. Honestly it was probably originally inspired by the "He was only ever meant to watch", obviously it's about Grian being a watcher as of the end of Evo but also "only ever" made me think.

So we know the watchers thrive off of entertainment and bad emotions, and probably also chaos (aka Grian incarnate). So in my headcanon they 'recruit' young players to go onto servers and worlds and inspire chaos or entertainment that would please the watchers to, well, watch. These recruits would be taught skills/ powers like shapeshifting and other typical fanon watcher abilities to help them stay under the radar on the servers they go to.

So what if Grian was one of these recruits and was sent to worlds like yhs and any other worlds he was on before Evo to create entertainment for the watchers. He enjoys the chaos, likes having the friends and storylines he makes on these servers, and definitely likes the powers that come with the job. Soon Grian's one of their best recruits and possibly one of their most powerful, mastering shapeshifting almost immediately.

And Evo is the big one. Grian is properly undercover, pretending to not know who the watchers are and adding more people to the server (Taurtis and Pearl who both joined late) for them to feed off of. It's also Grian's world, which adds a lot of responsibility but also alot of power. The watchers originally just watched and kept an eye on Grian but started meddling when they realised "Hey, the admin isn't going to stop us or look into it, we're his boss!" and when they realised the entertainment that would come with players dealing with god-like beings they don't quite understand.

Grian's all up for this, he of course knows what the watchers are. And while he's a bit miffed whenever they punish him for something (see putting obsidian on his chests and making a clay statue he isn't allowed to mine), He plays along and enjoys being able to do his own thing on a world for the most part.

Then Grian joins Hermitcraft. Maybe the watchers sent him there too, or maybe it was him trying to get away from the responsibilities of his job. Either way, Grian being on two servers at once means the chaos is more spread out and less noticeable, so the watchers recall him, pretending to the other evolutioners that they are making G one of them (end dragon fight on evo). Evo sort of fizzles out and the watchers become bored of it. Most people escape to other worlds or servers, Martyn gets plucked out by the listeners, and the world is forgotten and overgrows again.

Grian continues to make chaos on Hermitcraft. Again, either the watchers telling him to, old habits dying hard, or just because he wants to.

Anyways, from then it's basically what you actually see happens, plus Martyn's lore, and anything that makes more entertainment or chaos is either the watchers or Grian. Grian if it seems harmless just fun and interesting, ans the watchers if it seems a bit more extreme (boogeyman and red bloodlust) or is obviously watcher-y (secret keeper)

I might flesh this out further, but yeah this is basically what I've been thinking about for the past few days

Random screencaps of Captain Underpants IN SPACE with thoughts for each of those scenes Part 2.

I instantly thought of @tornrose24 and her Passengers prediction when I saw the reveal of Krupp thawing himself early in order to take over the ship. And personally, I found his subplot of trying to entertain himself while being an idiot to be more enjoyable than that disturbing piece of film.

Another reminder to never do drugs kids.

While I do love the concept of Dressy being akumatized in this episode, especially since it’s been so long since one of the kids have been the monster of the week, I’m a little offput over the comic that the boys made here. While they have made comics where they placed their friends as the villains for CU to defeat, there was always a reason behind it. For Erica, they created the Vimpire out of frustration and wanting to appease Erica’s desire for strong female characters. For Bo, it was to make him a laughing stock so the student body wouldn’t be afraid of him or his bully image. But here, there’s really no stated reason as to why they decided to make Dressy into the villain. Even if singing was a key component, they didn’t really talk about or mention Dressy until the big reveal. It feels like she was written as a villain in the comic for the sake of plot convenience. And I normally wouldn’t mind when it comes to this show, but on this occasion, the whole scene feels off.

But apart from that, I did enjoy Dressy being an akuma and how it weaponized her singing as a force for evil. I just wish she could have a different appearance or a cooler design.

I can’t help but laugh at the implication that this is Harold’s way of sticking it to his new step-dad. :p

It’s also worth mentioning that this is the second time that George has made fun of Anthrope for being boring and dull. The first being in one of the endings for the Choice-O-Rama special. I kinda get the feeling that she represents the boring and unfulfilled side of adulthood and George wants no part in it. Also, those eyes and eyebrows are gonna haunt me for the rest of the night.

I honestly appreciate Moxie in this situation. While she’s definitely playing the role of the Only Straight Woman here, I like that she’s calling attention to the fact that she’s the adult and she’s responsible for these kids. And even if she doesn’t like them or the whole situation, Moxie takes it on herself to ensure that they’re safe and not doing something that could kill them. Especially since they’re on an unknown alien world that could endanger their lives. I appreciate that and my respect for her grew here. And it grew even more for flat out calling Krupp an adult baby.

I’m a little saddened that they didn’t use that gag as a reference to the “Everything Except Fabric Softener” Superstore from the manga. That would have been so cool.

Also, this is a rare moment of Captain Underpants wearing a blue cape instead of his trademark red. It’s weird.

Also, I’m very confused over the dynamics of this world. If the kids can turn into sharks to keep the adults in line, then why can’t the adults shapeshift too? If the adults are the same race as the kids, then can’t they turn into sharks too so they can fight back? Do the adults lose this ability to transform when they reach adulthood which is why they’re powerless? If that’s the case, then will the kids in charge lose their shapeshifting when they grow older and become abused by the new generation of Utopiquian kids? Are they aware and prepared for that? There are alot of questions over how this shark culture functions and most of them feel like pretty big plot holes.

If they wanted to show a world where kids controlled adults, then I feel they should have nixed the shapeshifting aspect since it’s something that both groups would have due to their planetary race. Maybe the kids could have had access to an ancient technological weapon to enforce their abusive will and the adults didn’t stand a fighting chance against. Or maybe the adults destroyed their world and the kids who survived decided to rebuild their own utopia while imprisoning the adults, blaming them for the world’s end. I can think of more ideas but the point is the kids would have an advantage that the adults shouldn’t have.

And those are my thoughts for Episodes 3 and 4. What do you guys think of all this? Feel free to reblog this with your thoughts.

Also if she did/does have friends the nickname Nemo 100% crops up because it's sadly alll too fitting but also kinda sweet.

She's actually really into cars and mechanics. Which is one of the few good reasons her dad and her are close.

She's hard to get to know, very quiet. And if you're someone who dominates the conversation she won't speak up much, but you'll be surprised to how much she's listened.

Just because she looks tired and done doesn't actually mean she feels that way.

Samson (Lemonade boi)

His name is Samson, but he prefers Sun/Sunny. (Other more affectionate nicknames include Lemondrop and Sunflower.)

He really likes going out to markets and stuff like that, little stalls or knick knack shops to find the odd kinda items.

He also really likes wandering big forests. (Hes got some o that fae energy) He collects various cool stones/rocks/plants from some of them. He also has some small vials from waterfalls and ponds he’s encountered)

He wants to practice magic to become a witch! He loves the candles and rocks and other cool things that come with the craft. (He inherited things from his father)

He really likes loose fitting shirts too, like flowy things, ones with sleeves that drape past your fingers, or has extra fabric on the bottom that dangle down past hips. (Sometimes they come from the ladies section just because they’re softer and have more variety. Others from op shops and other niche little stores.)

He bought a cologne from a witch that looks cursed but the only curse is that it makes the one who puts it on smell like citrus..so not much of curse. (The bottle looks fuckin neato tho)

He looves fizzy drinks. Doesn’t mind his alcohol either, however it takes a surprising amount to get him on his ass despite looking like a serious lightweight.

He’s pretty average in build, bit of muscle in his arms, some fat on his thighs. Slight pouch of a tum (cause no ones flat and thats unrealistic :<)

He’s about 5′4. So not tall, but not the shortest of the short.

He kinda likes to backpack about. Not staying in places long if they get boring. Which means he is kinda jack of all trades when it comes to work, offering to fix things for pay, lots of casual work doing various things.(One of his favorites was helping a little old lady run a paint shop.)

He occasionally snorts when he laughs and tries not to.

He has his ears pierced, and he has a little yellow gemed stud in his nose.

The ring around his neck he found in the middle of a patch of mushrooms.

He has a couple other tattoos. One of them is of bubbles up his wrist :3 He also has some stars on his ankle, and a sunflower on one of his fingers on his left hand.

He’s not super in to gardening but he does have his lemon tree. He also wants to grow some mandarins

His eyes look silver in a lot of lights, but occasionally there’s some strange hints of yellow, and other times blue.

He has freckles!!!! that look alot like bubbles ;)

He has a twin brother called Fraser.

Star Trek: Deep Space 9

Okay so this is my favorite Star Trek series and it’s really great and I feel like it and voyager are frequently overlooked in favor of ToS and Next Gen. but DS9 is great and you should watch it. Here is why:

- The setting is drastically different from all other Star Trek series. It takes place at a single Space Station (the titular Deep Space 9) so we end up going more in depth with the nearby systems, and their cultures.

- It was made after ToS and Next Gen. so all of the effects are more up to date and realistic.

- It has a lot of good stories that work off of the unique characters and environment.

- It reuses characters and concepts from Next Gen. such as Chief O’Brien, and Worf, which for one give long time fans more time with these characters and also means that less set up is required.

- It has a full seven seasons of quality content. it doesn’t dillydally with getting to the good stuff, and it goes out strong.

- And my final point: The characters

The characters are amazing. They are all so strong and unique, and there is so much diversity amongst them too.

- Benjamin Sisko: The commander of DS9, he comes from Earth where he met his wife shortly before being posted a starship. This ship was attacked by the borg during the period when Captain Picard was assimilated and his wife died leaving him to care for there son Jake. He is reluctant to take the position at DS9 but grows into the role and becomes a strong leader to rival Kirk or Picard, even achieving the rank of Captain.

- Major Kira Nerys: The first officer of DS9, she is a native of Bajor (the planet DS9 once orbited). She is very strong willed and was a fighter in Bajor’s war for independence against the Cardassians. She does show that she would do almost anything for her friends and coworkers on DS9 however.

- Odo: Odo is an extremely interesting character. Particularly because he is a shapeshifter or changeling and thus can alter form. While this can be used as a helpful tool in some episodes. the greater mystery is his origin. This is probably the largest continuous plot line through out the shows entirety. He initially has trouble with actual people since he is really just a blob. But he learns to interact with the crew and they become very important to him.

Odo: I'll never understand the humanoid need to... 'couple.'

Quark: You've never... coupled?

Odo: Choose not to. Too many compromises. You want to watch the karo-net tournament; she wants to listen to music, so you compromise - you listen to music. You like Earth Jazz; she prefers Klingon Opera so you compromise - you listen to Klingon Opera. So here you were ready to have a nice night watching the karo-net match and you wind up spending an agonizing evening listening to Klingon Opera.

- Quark: Quark is the Bartender who runs effectively DS9′s equivalent of Ten Forward. As a Ferengi he is constantly seeking wealth. However as the series progresses we can see the people around him alter his rigid world view and he really changes.

- Rom: Quark’s brother. He is significantly less gifted at acquiring wealth and is actually a talented engineer however due to that not offering optimal wealth he was unable to pursue this passion until Star Fleet took over the station. He cares alot about his brother and his son & wife. Often sacrificing for them.

- Nog: The son of Rom. Nog originally pursued Latinum as greedily as his uncle, Quark. However he would eventually befriend Jake Sisko. He would eventually go off to Star Fleet Academy and became the first Ferengi Officer.

- Jake Sisko: The son of Benjamin Sisko. He is important to his father and is a character that we see physically grow because the actor gets older.

- Chief Miles O’Brien: The head of engineering on the station. He is integral to the maintenance of it. This also gives what was once a minor character a chance to shine. He shows an interest in old earth cultures. We also get to see more of his wife and child. He interacts wonderfully with the other members of the crew.

- Doctor Julian Bashir: The chief medical officer of DS9. Bashir has an interesting past. He also gives us our holodeck episodes: James Bond! He tries to form a relationship with the science officer, Jadzia Dax. He is close friends with O’Brien and the two are often seen together when they are off duty.

- Jadzia Dax: The head science officer of DS9. Jadzia is a trill and caries the Dax symbiote. Sisko knew the past host of the Dax symbiote and as such already has a strong relationship with Jadzia.

And that is the main cast. There are a number of side characters, specifically Bajorans and Cardassians, and other family members.

But honestly I love all of these people. And I will fight you if you insult them. Except for maybe Quark. Quark is kinda a dick.
